Zam Exits the Skytunnel

STAR WARS EPISODE II: Attack of the Clones 00:18:43
It's barely glimpsed for a short half-second, but the Aurebesh lettering "NAT" above the skytunnel exit is red, telling drivers not to enter, whereas the entrance those letters are in green. Pretty cool little touch!
Also, could NAT be a reference to Natalie Portman?

CC Aurek Batch + 1
wanted to write some command batch shenanigans with a side of Just Slightly Weird. are they force-users? fae? eldritch creatures? i have no idea!
obligatory mandoa meanings, tho I use them as names so it doesn’t really matter, and it’s clarified who is who later on:
Mirdala: clever, smart
Edee: jaws, teeth
Kote: glory
Buirkan: responsibility
Gettse: courage, nerve
---
"Why is it," Alpha-17 sighed, "That whenever stupid shit happens, it's always you five?"
Every member of CC Batch Aurek blinked at him in unison, wearing the same identical expressions of innocence.
Creepy.
"Sorry, sir," Mirdala lied, like the little liar that he was.
"Didn't mean to cause problems, sir," Edee also lied.
Kote opened his mouth but Alpha held up a hand, stopping him from speaking. Kote was a terrible liar. It was embarrassing. Alpha had completely failed in teaching that one any kind of subtlety, and did not need a reminder of the reason for Fordo's constant mockery.
"Alright," he said, "Show me the poor cadet you kidnapped."
"I wasn't kidnapped," a young, mulish voice said from behind the perfectly-arrayed line of teenage CCs. "I came on purpose."
"Yes, I'm sure they gave you the option of refusing," Alpha drawled. He glanced pointedly toward Buirkan, who at least had the decency to look somewhat guilty about it. "Go on, move."
The quintet shuffled uncertainly, holding out just a little longer before finally parting to reveal the cadet tucked behind Kote and Gettse, gently pushing him forward. Alpha'd had his suspicions about why Aurek decided to openly lay claim on a CT, and the blond roots in the kid's hair certainly explained some of it.
"CT-7567, sir," the cadet said, snapping to attention. His salute was a little shaky, but Alpha didn't often interact with the CTs, and the rumors of him being an asshole were--well, true, but at least a little overblown.
When the cadet stopped there, offering nothing else, Alpha turned his attention to Aurek with a pointed, judgemental frown.
Kote stepped forward and wrapped an arm around the kid's shoulders.
"His name is Rex," Kote said proudly, with the smugness of someone who'd clearly won naming rights, going by the disgruntled looks from his batchers.
"He's one of Us," Edee added, belligerent, as if that was enough to excuse the five of them causing chaos and abducting a CT from the cadet barracks in broad fucking daylight. But Alpha heard the emphasis, and--
Well. That was enough.
The thing that not a lot of people knew--or if they did, they shut their damned mouths about it--was that the very first batch of CC-class clones decanted came out...odd.
'Unsettling,' had been the word Mij Gilamar used, said without rancor, unlike the reactions from some of the other trainers. 'Unnatural,' was what Walon Vau called them. Isabelle Reau said that they were 'horrible little abominations', and while Alpha cared exactly fuck-all about what Reau and Priest had to say, he still made sure that Aurek never ended up near their illicit battle circles.
Jango Fett had watched them for a single training session, face growing steadily darker as they demolished the shooting range, and then he'd turned heel and left without a word.
Alpha was pretty sure that was just because they were already close to beating his scores. Sucks to suck, Prime.
There was nothing psychologically, physically, or genetically wrong about Aurek--that the Kaminoans could prove, anyway--and all five were clearly on track to be high-ranked soldiers whenever the war finally started.
But they were, admittedly, really fucking weird sometimes.
"That true?" Alpha asked the cadet. "You're one of them?"
Now that he looked, he could see the similarities between Rex and the rest of Aurek: the little CT was already synced with them, breathing and blinking in time. His eyes bore the same unnatural intensity, and Alpha wondered if he would also be able to locate the others no matter how far away they were.
Rex nodded, a pleased smile breaking across his face. It didn't seem like he smiled that often.
"Yeah!" he said enthusiastically. "I'm one of them, and they're one of me, and we're all gonna be together now."
Rex looked up at Kote, who smiled besottedly down at him.
"This is Cody!" he said.
"And this is Gree," he said, patting Gettse's arm.
"That's Bly," he said, nodding toward Buirkan.
"And those're Fox and Wolffe," he said, pointing at Mirdala and Edee.
Alpha took in the newly-named Aurek batch with raised eyebrows. They couldn't quite mask their happiness at the new monikers, and Bly stepped forward, meeting Alpha's gaze.
"We will always treasure the names you gave us," he said earnestly, as if Alpha was some tubie in need of reassurance, "But we gave him his name, and he wanted to give us something back."
It wasn't as if the clones had possessions, after all, and names were one of the few things that the Kaminoans couldn't take away.
Alpha scoffed and cuffed Bly in the side of the head.
"I'm not offended, you little brat," he said, "And I'll still call you what I damn well want."
Bly just beamed at him, pleased, and Alpha rolled his eyes. He pushed Bly back into the circle of his batchers and their new plus-one, and if there was any kind of gentleness in his touch, he would deny it until he died.
"Meet up for training tomorrow at the usual time," he ordered, "And bring the kid with you."
Grins all around.
"Sir, yes sir!"

“Kih’ori’vod.” Tenten rumbles. His voice holds all the weight of affection b’Jan’buir. There’s also a cruel sharpness that Jan’buir never showed in front of Boba. “The Kaminiise were careless. The equipment malfunctioned and all of the cells they harvested from Prime died off.”
Boba stares at him blankly, not understanding what that has to do with his staying in prison for the rest of his life.
Tenten glances over his shoulder and then crouches down so he’s at Boba’s eye level. He brushes the back of his scarred knuckles across Boba’s cheek. “They’ll try to harvest cells from us, but we’re too edited—impure. You, on the other hand, are untouched. Tsad Droten is churning through us like mulch, they will approach you soon with a plea bargain.”
“Gar’gotal ner mav’cuyi.” The words fall from Boba’s numb lips before he can take them back. “Why?”
Tenten rocks back onto his heels, plastoid bucket scraping against his thigh plate. The silence drags on forever, long enough that Boba starts to think that he isn’t going to get an answer.
Then, finally, Ten’ika says, “Gar buir ru’juri skira. N’cuyi harycne viini goyust ures kyr.”
Mini translations:
Kih’ori’vod: little big brother (different from ori’kih’vod which means tiny brother)
Gar’gotal ner mav’cuyi: roughly, you manufactured a way to free me. lit. You create my freedom (mav being free and cuyi being exist)
Gar buir ru’juri skira: roughly, your father was burdened by revenge. Lit. Your parent carried revenge.
N’cuyi harycne viini goyust ures kyr: roughly, I won’t become exhausted running a path without an end. Lit not exist (most) tired running path without end.

i need to stop looking at star wars scripts because i'm starting to read them as warped versions of linear a syllables. it is NOT HELPED by ralph mcquarrie straight-up putting a linear a A (AB08) in the massassi letters. look. it's right there.
Tumblr media
i feel like this:
Tumblr media
there is also AB27, 31, & 55 in here. why does ur-kittât have a sideways A164 for an o? why is there a AB68 in the protobesh/coremaic alphabet. why is it an l?
why did i decide i needed to take the aurebesh, the domabesh, the protobesh, and the ur-kittât to try and trace some semblance of an evolution in the letters like actual abjads/alphabets go through?
(and this is even without factoring in the peridea script which is the ur-kittât script just without the lines around it, and with different logograms meaning different letters)
i just wanted to follow through the fun 'aurebesh is a descendant from rakata hieroglyphs' but NO ONE IN THIS WAR IN OUR STARS HAS ANY IDEA HOW TO ALPHABET. OR HIEROGLYPH. OR SYLLABOGRAM.

Can I get Mating Bite for the WIP Wednesday game?
Yessss, thank you!
(from the wip wednesday game)
so the context is that Anakin is the equivalent of an alpha and Qui-Gon is basically an omega (world building means they are actually aurek and orenth and extremely rare) and Qui-Gon has asked Anakin not to bite him... even though Anakin has bitten him many time.
Qui-Gon sighed and said, "It's alright, nothing happened," and that seemed to be the end of it. But there was always this push and pull, this desire for Anakin to pin him down with teeth and body and a submissive turn where Qui-Gon's eyes would flutter shut, his jaw going slack. Then, when Anakin left bruises, when he could hardly think straight, Qui-Gon didn't seem to mind.

The Kaminiise genetically making us obstinante against the act of committing suicide: wouldn't it be funny to make these fuckers survive?
Kriff this. The long necked bastards say they did it to make Prime and the Jetii hardy super soldiers impossible to kill or be felled. In reality I think it's cause they wanted to kark with me in particular. Probably spat in my tube and kicked it around before I was decanted. Said "Kriff this CC in particular." Siths kriffing ka'ra, I'm going to end up on the news if I act on my anger.

ngl i'm just happy to have a last line that wasn't written over six months ago x_X
The wound that bisected Wolffe's right eye was still jagged, still healing: still an angry red that echoed the lightsaber that had put it there.
Last Line Challenge
Rules : in a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or as many as you feel like).
Thank you @cocotter for tagging me ☺️
So, there you go with the last line i wrote on one of my WIP (it was a few days ago because i spend more time reading on AO3 than progressing on things...)
Ponds didn't get to go ask his general in the end. It's Windu who came to him.
And for the tagging part, I'm going to play it like I'm not starstruck just a little bit and ask very nicely and politely (with a flower 🌻) if @varpusvaras @mamuzzy @here-be-bec and @commanderfoxdeservesbetter have anything you'd like to share ? Would love to know but no pressure what's over !

One of the problems with learning Aurebesh is being hit with the sudden realization that Star Wars ship names make. no. sense. For example: This is not a Y-wing. This is clearly a Vev-wing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why are we calling this an A-wing when its blunted nose makes it look much more like an Osk-wing?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, sure, in flight configuration I guess it's a lambda, but in landing configuration it's a Trill-class shuttle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
X-wing? More of a weirdly symmetrical Aurek-wing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
U-wing heck, this is obviously a sideways Krill-wing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And as for the B-wing . . . look, this has never looked the slightest bit like a B, so I feel no particular compunction to find a good match in Aurebesh. Maybe it's a Forn-wing? Sure, why not.

CC Batch Aurek: Abregado
one | two
this fought me so hard but HEY through the power of Maybe-Force-Maybe-Eldritch Shenanigans i have decided to improve the outcome of the 104th v the Malevolence.
not by a lot, but still.
---
Nax knew it wasn't his place to question his superior officers, but they seemed very worked up over something that was easily verified.
"--in the Abregado system when we lost contact--"
Nax stepped away from the communications room to pull up his comm, leaving the Council and the Chancellor to debate whether his brothers were worth rescuing. It was still early into second shift, which meant that most of first shift had probably only just made it to sleep, which mostly meant--
"I swear," Rex growled, "On Prime's fucking cock, if this isn't an emergency--"
"Commander Wolffe might be in trouble," Nax blurted, because Rex tended to keep his threats. "Can you, uh, check on him?"
Nobody really knew how the Aurek batch worked--including, apparently, Aurek themselves--and while the lack of tangible evidence drove Coric up the wall, it was already proven that they were somehow connected.
Admittedly, the 'proof' came in the form of Rex getting incredibly drunk, predicting how his adopted batchers were feeling, and then comming them to prove it, so it was slightly suspect. But the only one he'd gotten wrong had been Commander Fox, who'd spent a good fifteen minutes threatening them with discipline and dismemberment for interrupting his work, which had only resulted in Rex grinning dopily at the holo.
There was a short pause on the other end of the call while Rex presumably did his mystical feely powers banthashit, but the sharp intake of air told Nax all he needed to know.
"General Koon called asking for reinforcements in the Abregado system," he reported without prompting as he heard the familiar sound of armor being hastily donned. "The comm was cut off, and we haven't been able to reestablish communications. They were after intel on that new Sep weapon."
"Then the survivors don't have long," Rex said grimly. His voice became clearer, shifting from a wrist comm to helmet speakers. "I'll go mobilize a squad; tell the General to meet me in the hangar."
"Yessir."
Nax cut the call and made his way back to the communications room.
"--absence of distress beacons indicate that his fleet was--"
"Sirs," he interrupted, standing at sharp attention, "At least some of the 104th has survived. Captain Rex is currently assembling a rescue team in the hangar."
There was a brief moment of utter silence. Then:
"Rex," General Skywalker breathed.
"Oh," General Kenobi said. He covered his eyes with one hand. "Oh, of course. I hadn't even thought about asking Cody."
"I'll lead some of the gunships over to the Abregado system to pick up the survivors," Skywalker announced, a new determined set to his shoulders. "Admiral Yularen will stay the course to keep watch on our supply lines, and we'll catch up as soon as we've retrieved the Wolfpack."
"I'm sorry," the Chancellor interjected, "But where is this intel coming from? Anakin, I know your heart is in the right place, but we cannot risk resources on the mere chance that there could be survivors."
"It's not just a chance," Skywalker said firmly. "Rex knows that at least Commander Wolffe is alive. And even if it's just him, any witnesses to how the weapon works would be worth it."
"You're basing this off the word of a clone?"
All five Jedi turned their attention to the Chancellor, radiating judgment. Nax smirked from behind the safety of his helmet.
"No offense intended to your Captain, of course," the Chancellor said hastily. "But, Councilors, you must see that this is an unwise decision--"
"No, Anakin has a point," General Kenobi interrupted, stroking his beard. "If Captain Rex says that Commander Wolffe is alive, that definitely means there are survivors out there."
"And how does the Captain know that?"
"It has to do with their batch," Kenobi explained. "They are a very unique group of clones--my own Commander Cody is part of it as well--"
Permission implicitly--if not expressly--given, Skywalker slapped the button to disconnect the call before he could be told otherwise, and immediately headed out of the comm room.
"Snips, go with Rex, get the rescue team going ASAP. I'll follow you in the Twilight. Admiral Yularen, we have new orders..."
Nax watched them go, a tight knot of tension loosening in his chest. He pulled up his comm again.
"The Commander's on her way, sir," he reported. "You'll take the squad and depart ASAP; General Skywalker will catch up in his ship."
"Understood. We'll be underway as soon as Commander Tano gets here."
"Captain, if you can..."
Nax hesitated, the words sticking in his throat, because it was a stupid request, but--
"I'll do everything I can to find your batchmates," Rex promised gently, his voice losing its crisp edge. "If they're alive, we'll bring them home."
Nax exhaled shakily.
"Thank you, sir."
He didn't know if the Jedi always had their best interests at heart--and was almost positive that the Senate didn't--but Nax knew that he could always depend on his brothers. That they would look out for each other, even if no one else cared.
(Only thirty troopers made it out of the destruction. Only thirty, out of six hundred, remained of the 104th Battalion.
But two of them were Sinker and Boost, and later, if Nax wept out of relief and selfish joy that at least they survived, he knew that his brothers understood.)

Fox takes to the news like he takes to anything—with outward obeisance and a good deal of private seething. There aren’t many cell lines who feel more than a distant sense of shared misery for each other. It’s mostly the larger ones, the ones that end up with several to a batch, that have something closer.
Alpha, personally, tried to have as little to do with the cc-17s as he could when they were in training. None of the Aureks really like to think about the little tubies grown from their forcibly donated samples. It’s a combination of uncanny valley and being forced to confront that any of your mistakes ripple consequences out to torture ik’aade. The few times he’s had to work with a cc-17, it’s been mostly to coordinate small ops. His independent streak stuck harder in the 17s than in other lines and they seem to have all been assigned to on ship management and small team infiltrations. When he thinks of them, if he does at all, he mostly just feels sorry that he’s condemned a bunch of men who hate incompetence to shiny wrangling.
The 10s all hate each other. They’re the smallest cell line, aside from Ninety-nine whose line was entirely terminated after he was retired to janitor work, and that’s partially due to their own ruthless infighting.
“10-4.” Fox says in greeting to Commander Gree. They wear shared identical expressions of polite distaste tinged with just enough warmth to prevent natborns from looking closer.
Fox’s bland smile translates approximately to: Fuck yourself on a tentacle.
Commander Gree breaks from his general to click his heels together and salute Fox; as befits a commander to his superior. “Marshal Commander CC-1010 of the Coruscant Guard. I’m at your service.”
Deepthroat a rusty kad.
“Commander Gree.” Alpha cuts in before the silent posturing restarts a cold war. “Sitrep.”
Still sucking on your general’s tit? Fox asks with a shift of his weight.
Surprised your ass is still tight enough to keep that stick up there after whoring yourself out to Tsad Droten’s finest. Gree answers with a lift of his chin as he unclasps his bucket.
Each breath and muscle twitch is a brutally efficient insult and as pleasurable as it is to watch, Alpha is going to murder them both just to be done with it.

I Wish I Could Stay
Day 6: Not Realising They're Injured | unhealthy coping mechanisms | healed wrong | "it's not my blood"
Yesterday got a little hectic, and therefore I shall post 2 fics today! Here's the first one, with yesterday's prompts. A little star wars, in a new AU I'm calling Run Little Clone. Many thanks to @cc1010fox for letting me use their "alpha 17 runs away with fox and adopts him" au! I'm having a lot of fun writing it :)
Hope you enjoy!
Decommisioning was a thing that every vod feared. Even more than reconditioning, because at least then you could come back. Somewhat. Well, your body would come back, at least. And if you were really lucky, eventually you might regain some of the memories you'd lost in the reconditioning.
But with decomissioning, you weren't coming back. Not your body, not your mind, nothing. You'd be taken away, and that was it. You were never seen again, your number going on to be given to some tubie that hadn't been grown in the tubes yet, if you were a CT. CCs didn't even have that. Their numbers were just tossed, marked down as a failure and only ever mentioned in low whispers by their batchmates to be remembered by.
In a way, it was better. At least the CCs didn't have to listen to their deceased batchmate's number being calledout, seeing an entirely new clone answering to the same number. In some ways it was worse, knowing that the number and the memories attached could never be overwritten by memories formed with this new clone.
Fox had always been of the opinion that it was worse this way. Another way that the CCs were seperate from the rest of their brothers, always remembering the one who was gone whenever he heard their number. Even when it was accompanied by a CT in front of it, the number itself had still hurt.
And now, he didn't know what he'd done wrong. If he'd been just a bit too lippy, gotten too relaxed with the trainers who liked to perform his "special training". Maybe his scores had dropped, just a little, but enough for the longnecks to decide that he wasn't worth the hundreds of credits they'd spent on him.
Maybe it was because his batchmates had kept their little CT pet whole, instead of breaking him like Fox had suggested they'd do.
Whatever he'd done, the result was the same. Fox, CC-1010, was the be decomissioned. Disposed of. He wasn't even worth the hassle of reconditioning. Just removed.
It was his fears come to life. They came for him in another "special" training session, Bly standing by after his own one was finished, ready to help each other back to their barracks after they were done. Fox had been taken away, no warning, just the longnecks showing up with some trainers and taking him away.
"Unfortunate that we'll lose his mouth," One of the trainers had said. "But there's still the other one, anyways,"
The other one was Gree. Older than Fox, but they were of the same cell line. The only clones of cell line 10, unless you counted the Aurek they were cloned from. They weren't batchmates, but Gree had treated Fox like one anyways. He'd be the only one left, now. Since Fox was being decomissioned.
The words registered in his mind, the implication of them sinking in bare seconds afterwards. Fox was going to die. And not even in the sense of reconditioning, where his body would still be around, and there was a slight possibility that he could regain his memories afterwards.
No, he was just going to be dead. Feed for the fishes. Fuel in the furnace.
Fox had never truly panicked before. Not even when he'd just been decanted, and Cody had smothered him to keep him quiet. Now, though, faced with his death, he felt the stirrings of panic bowling him over. He began to struggle, to cry, to scream for help. It was all useless, a small part of his brain told him, but Fox was in too much distress to really register that.
It made it harder for the trainers to keep a hold of him, but it wasn't truly impossible. He was five years old, only physically a 10-year-old natborn. His initial struggle got him free for a second, but they easily restained him once again. All his training couldn't help him escape this.
Aurek 17, who'd adopted Fox's batch as his ad since the first time he'd caught Fox hacking into the Kaminoans' records, was there when they arrived at the labs. An instinctual part of Fox quietened at the older clone's appearance, a naive reassurance that he wouldn't let anything happen to Fox soothing him.
It was just 17 there, as well. Fox wasn't an expert on these by any means, but he assumed that there would be some longnecks there as well, to actually kill him, and to open up his body to figure out what went wrong. Yet there didn't seem to be any there.
The trainers holding Fox seemed confused as well. "Hey, where are the-" The one of Fox's right got cut off, as 17 drew a blaster and quickly shot both trainers down.
This wasn't supposed to happen. Fox stared at the bodies around him, and gingerly poked one with his foot. It didn't respond.
"Come on, ad'ika" 17 hurried the still shock-frozen cadet out of the room. "We need to leave, now,"
17 had killed the longnecks and trainers for him. The thought kept circling in Fox's mind. 17 had killed them for him. 17 had killed them for him.
It didn't seem real. Fox didn't register their surroundings as 17 forced him forward, mind too stuck in repeat. He didn't know if he'd ever been there or not, which was strange, but he didn't even register it as strange, with out of of it he was.
Fox's mind didn't let go of his thoughts until later, when they were already in hyperspace. In a spaceship he didn't recognise, 17 as the only other person inside it. There was flicks of blood on 17's face, like he'd gotten into an up and close brawl.
Maybe he'd had them before he'd grabbed Fox. He didn't really know. Blasters, like the one 17 had used to kill the trainers holding Fox, didn't leave blood.
"Where are we?" Fox spoke up, startling 17, by the way his face shot up from whatever he was focussing on.
"Hyperspace. Away from Kamino," 17's eyes showed his relief at Fox talking, and at the younger clone's nod of recognition as he turned the information over in his head.
"Why?"
"They were going to kill you. Bly came and got me before that could happen,"
Fox digested the information, grateful 17 had anticipated his next question. Bly was a worrier, but he had been there as well when they'd come to get him, hadn't he? He would've been able to put the pieces together just as well as Fox had.
"The others?"
"Still on Kamino." 17's relief faded to caution, as though he expected Fox to attack him or something over this. He wasn't Wolffe or Cody, Fox could actually control himself. "I only had a limited window, and I couldn't get them and get us off Kamino in time."
At least they were alive, Fox decided. His batchmates could take care of themselves until the Jedi came back for them. They might be a bit boneheaded, but Fox was confident that they'd be able to survive it.
Gree was a different question, though. The only '10 left, he'd be scrutinised more than he already had, now Fox was gone. His batch would probably be able to make sure he made it, though. Stone and Bacara could be scary, but Fox knew they'd be able to keep Gree afloat. Or, well, he hoped, anyways.
"Where's the blood from?" Fox decided to ask. The flecks all over 17 were bothering him, although he didn't think there was any on him. Either 17 had gotten them before, or he'd managed to keep the spray away from Fox whilst he'd fought.
17 glanced down at himself, as though he'd forgotten about it. "It's not my blood, ad'ika," He reassured. "Just some aruetti's from before I managed to get to you. Don't worry,"
Fox wasn't worried, and he kind of resented the implication that he was, but he relaxed into the bunk under him anyways. Not because he was worried. It was just a comfortable bed, that was all.
Okay, maybe it wasn't so much, it was as solid as the pods back on Kamino, but that didn't matter. It certainly didn't stop Fox from drifting back to asleep on it anyways, the darkness enclosing in on his vision.

i love it when star wars fic authors are more concerned with maintaining star wars 'verse immersion than actual canon. kudos to authors using 'aurek' and 'besh' meanwhile canon is like 'do you have a plan b' and 'alpha class' and 'delta-7'
