Do yourself a favor and rewatch the Star Wars prequels with high attention to detail, because this moment is a MASTERPIECE, as if the entire scene leading up to this isn't the most hilarious yet competent shitshow I've ever seen, this is the moment that I really lose my shit every time. Anakin has leapt off the speeder in the middle of Coruscant traffic, fallen dozens of stories through the air while in full spread eagle pose, lands on the tail of Zam's speeder, desperately crawls his way up the ship while she barrel rolls to try to dislodge him and he ragdolls his way almost entirely off it, so she's shooting at him while he's hanging off the front of the ship--THEY ARE SILL IN THE MIDDLE OF CORUSCANT TRAFFIC, I MIGHT ADD--until he finally manages to wiggle worm his way onto the top of the ship and then gets out his lightsaber and you expect him to cut a cool hole in the roof, kind of like what Qui-Gon did on the Trade Federation's ship BUT NO this absolute beautiful tropical fish of a Jedi just STABS HIS LIGHTSABER INTO THE COCKPIT AND SWISHES IT AROUND LIKE HE JUST PUNCHED A STRAW INTO BOBA TEA TO FISH OUT THE LAST PEARL, like his lightsaber technique is straight up the exact same way I would stir cream into my coffee, just STAB AND SWIRL IT AROUND, except with a DEADLY PLASMA CHAINSAW that is the lightsaber and you can't even argue because a) that's fucking hilarious, I cry with laughter every time, and b) if he hadn't lost his lightsaber TWO SECONDS LATER that would actually be really deadly, it's STUPID but imagine being in a cockpit and some asshole Jedi just STABS THEIR LIGHTSABER IN THERE WITH YOU AND STARTS WIGGLING IT AROUND, you would DIE and it wouldn't even be a cool lightsaber death! Attack of the Clones is a masterpiece, I'm not hearing any further arguments.

Zam's Back
STAR WARS EPISODE II: Attack of the Clones 00:10:46
We get a few glimpses of Zam's hairstyle peeking out beneath her helmet, but we don't see her helmetless except in a few behind the scenes shots.

one of my favorite part of the shapeshifter strikes is when jango and zam are trying to intimidate a prisoner and so they put on this whole little drama in the hold of slave I where zam poses as one of the prisoner's associates trying to break him out, and then jango shows up like, "aha, i've caught you!" and pretends to kill her, and everything, from the way jango just casually scoops her up and walks away afterwards to the fact that they have dedicated props for this very act, tells you that they pull this shit all the time. like they could just do the good-cop-bad-cop routine, but no, these two lunatics are putting on a whole community theater production complete with a fucking smoke emitter in the back of zam's vest just for the drama of it all.
anyway, do you think that after jango kills zam in episode 2 that he has a moment (or several) where he keeps expecting her to show up alive with a grin and a quip just like every time he """killed""" her before? :^)
#jango fett#zam wesell#they really are so ridiculous in the expanded universe and i love them#honestly the vibe i get is that zam is always suggesting they do silly shit like this#and is absolutely delighted when jango not only does not protest but is actually All In#like zam is like ''hey you know what would really freak people out?'' and jango is like ''we need props''#and zam is just like :D#star wars

[Attack of the Clones has Obi-Wan Kenobi slice off the hand of an assassin who was aiming a blaster at him with intent to kill, and who had previously attempted to murder a Republic Senator on two separate occasions, showing no concern over causing additional casualties on the first of these attempts.]
Jedi critical folks: Obi-Wan's actions were uncalled for! The Jedi epitomize police brutality!

Wee Shahnit... Sleemo
STAR WARS EPISODE II: Attack of the Clones 00:24:28
The subtitles for this scene read "Wee Shahnit... Sleemo" but if you listen closely, she clearly says the Huttese word Murishani translating to "bounty hunter".
In Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels by Pablo Hidalgo, he writes that Zam's last words are "murishani sleemo".
The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader by Ryder Windham, a young adult novel from 2007 which retells the events of the Star Wars saga from Anakin/Vader's viewpoint uses the words "Wee shahnit".
R.A. Salvatore's novelization of Attack of the Clones simply omits the line altogether, with "It was a bounty hunter called-" being Zam's last words.
Thanks to @darkblades75 for sharing the script page and also suggesting to check the Attack of the Clones comic adaptation from Dark Horse Comics. Much like the novelization, both the script and comic leave Zam's last words as "It was a bounty hunter called..."
I couldn't find any other sources, does anyone know anywhere else that describes this scene in either direction?

regrettably, neither is them being even a little bit ironic
#star wars#jango fett#zam wesell#there are many possible interpretations of their canon relationship and i'm fond of several of them#recently i've been gravitating towards the idea that like. this is all basically an inside joke to them. a bit.#bc like. listen. the banter follows a certain pattern. zam will almost always be the one to initiate flirting/innuendo#and then jango will sometimes play along for a bit but always ultimately rejects her. often with hilarious verbal brutality#and zam is always completely unbothered and often amused#your honor they are Doing A Bit#sometimes though i figure they forget what it looks like to other people#and they are genuinely surprised and weirded out when someone sees their outrageous flirting and assumes they're an item#they're like ''you didn't even let us get to the part where he compares me to a bothawui stinkweed and i swoon away dead in his arms. GOD!!#syn's art
