100 Days of Deathduo!
Alien Au Part 5 (I think)
Tw: Dehumanization, mentions of past unethical experimentation, and a character believes they were sedated (Although they actually were not)
Clover stares warily at Frosty. Or maybe glare would be more accurate a description. She had thought that she was safe, that they wouldn’t do anything to her, and yet they had taken her to a lab with equipment she didn’t understand and sedated her.
Granted, she didn’t quite know what they did, yet. But it must have been nefarious. It couldn’t have been good. And so yes, Clover was glaring at Frosty. It was her own fault, really, she shouldn’t have started to, well, trust wasn’t quite the right word, but grow more comfortable at the very least.
The worst part is that Frosty was acting like everything was normal, or even better than normal. They had talked in their weird alien language and had even tried to approach Clover. As though they hadn’t done anything to her. She was glad that they at least probably heard the warning in her voice when she raised it.
So now, Frosty was just in the little space they always were in, typing away, all fine and dandy. And here Clover was, tired and anxious, her nerves jumping from place to place like they were completing a parkour course. And bored. She was so bored, despite the fact that her heart felt like it was completing a marathon. Looking at Frosty had gotten so boring, and Clover was much too mad to pretend to communicate with them.
If only the alien would just leave. Clover had started trying to work out when she was alone, just for something to do. If attempting to walk around the cell and maybe do the few yoga stretches she remembered from various tv shows counted as working out. It was all her body could do at the moment, anyways, but at least it was something. Unfortunately, though, that would require her to move towards the alien, which she refused to do.
Clover started unraveling one of her blankets instead. Not much, of course, she enjoyed being warm, just enough to braid the weird, unnaturally soft threads and then unbraid them, over and over. She made sure to keep an eye on Frosty, of course, and she wasn’t going to make the mistake of letting her guard down. Which made it so that Clover noticed the exact moment the alien noticed what she was doing. They made a chittering noise in response, and then tried to come closer, which was absolutely not happening if Clover had anything to do with it.
“No.” Clover said, a bit too sharply, her fear bleeding into her anger. It works, and the alien backs off, which she is grateful for, but it doesn’t help the stab of fear that is burning inside her. If she was on the other spaceship she probably would have been punished harshly for this, and this was still a new situation.
Frosty simply continues to speak nonsensical words that she cannot understand, and leaves, which makes Clover slump in relief. She could probably do her daily walk around the enclosure now, but the entire exchange has just left her tired. She just sits, and fidgets with the blanket, with the threads.
And then she startles when Frosty comes into the room again, holding something she hasn’t seen before. It has a pole and a string, and looks like a fishing rod, or a cat toy, with some kind of fake alien creature attached to the end. Frosty tosses that end towards her, and Clover realizes that it actually is a cat toy. There is the alien equivalent of a cat toy dangling in front of her.
She stares at Frosty, unimpressed. She isn’t going to do it. She isn’t going to try to catch the thing. In fact, she isn’t going to even look at it. Clover refuses to be treated like a pet, even if it seems like Frosty is just trying to keep her from unraveling her blankets. Sure, they sedate her and then probably experiment on her while she is asleep, but at least they care about her mental stimulation. How kind.
It takes everything in her not to flinch when the toy goes in front of her eyes and lightly baps her on the head. Instead, she looks Frosty straight in the eyes, uncaring if they are one of the species that views the action as a sign of aggression, and slowly brings up the blanket. She unravels it a little bit more. Really, Frosty should be glad for this. They wanted to give her mental stimulation, and while the cat toy didn’t work, Clover isn’t bored anymore.
Luckily, the alien doesn’t seem to get mad, and Clover untenses just the slightest bit. She has never been a rebellious person, really, never tried to purposefully antagonize others, but being trapped in space does something to a person, she supposes.
Frosty tries to wave the toy in front of Clover’s face again, and she barely glances at it, refusing to give them the satisfaction. They leave after that, taking the toy with them, but Clover has a feeling they are gonna be back.
They do come back a few minutes later holding something else, and it looks like a box. It’s another toy, for sure, made out of some kind of fiber or wood, although it is an unnatural purple instead of brown. Alien plants are strange, unless it’s dyed. It doesn’t look like it is though.
Clover skitters back when Frosty slides the box across the floor towards her. It’s a delicate balance, trying to get far enough away from the box while not getting much closer to the alien, and her skin crawls at the few less inches of space between her and the alien. They look at her expectantly, and while Clover doesn’t really want to go towards the toy, she also doesn’t like being this close to them, close enough that they could probably take a large step to touch her.
She chooses the lesser of two evils. She doesn’t want to slide the box back, doesn’t want to engage with Frosty any more than she has to, but she could probably move it towards the other side of the enclosure. She plans to in fact, and picks the box up to slide it again. And then she gets distracted when she sees a small indent in it, like a tiny handle. There is a tiny drawer. It’s a puzzle box.
Her curiosity overcomes her, and she can’t even be mad that she is complying to the alien’s expectation, but she is bored. Sue her. The drawer has a tad bit of tension as he opens it, enough that it doesn’t open on it’s own, but its still easy enough. Nevermind. Maybe it isn’t a puzzle box, its much too simple, but inside is a berry, one she recognizes from some of the meals given to her. A treat. Like when dogs manage to figure out a puzzle.
Did the alien think this would be difficult for her? She didn’t realize she was perceived as that animalistic. Clover almost wants to dump the berry on the ground, but she can’t afford to waste food anymore, so she simply closes the drawer again and hides it in her blankets, by her stash of food and water, taking care not to show it to Frosty. It doesn’t look like an alien bomb, and she kind of likes it. She could probably do something with it.
“Done” She says to Frosty, knowing that they don’t understand her. They stare at her, and chitter back, leaving and coming back a few minutes later with a few more puzzle boxes, that they slide towards Clover. She nearly gives in to the urge to solve them right away. She can already tell the solution to the one with the stick blocking it from opening, but a moment’s pause has her considering otherwise.
For one, she doesn’t really want to comply that easily with Frosty. She doesn’t want to be seen as a pet. As well, she doesn’t want to be treated like a lab experiment, doesn’t want to have to complete knowledge tasks to see just how smart she, or her species is. She is tired of feeling like a rat in a cage, although she knows that it what she is viewed as.
So instead of opening the drawers, she simply looks at Frosty and puts the other boxes in her pile for later, refusing to touch them while the alien stares at her. She wishes she could tell what alien expressions look like, but sadly she can’t.
Frosty tries to move towards her again, or more accurately towards her blankets, but they back up when Clover says another aggressive “No.” At least they understand what her volume means, even if they don’t understand anything else about her.
Eventually, they give up and leave the room, and Clover waits a few more minutes for good before she brings the puzzle boxes out again. They are only slightly more difficult from the first, and she has all three solved in less than ten minutes, but she is sure there are other things she can do with them to cure her boredom.
The berries are quite nice, too.

Ah yes, the "evil" family.
I thought it would be even more funny if it was Luke, of all people, the one who wanted to watch Bloodbath in the Black Moon of the Dragon System.

"Hey, can you move your Lantern Corp away from my Grave? Your blocking the view."
"What?" Hal said startled as he noticed a floating white hair teen with green eyes looking annoyed.
It would've be common event if it weren't for the fact that they in the middle of space near Mar.
"Could you please move the lantern Corp away from my grave, it's blocking the my view of the stars." The boy said pointing back at mars then back at Green lantern Corps.
"This is the second time this happen and I would like to just rest in peace."
The more Hal look at the floating boy, the more he realized how humaniod and alien like he began to look, the clear white hair with sparks of stars dust in it, the freckled covering his face look a splatter of dwarf stars, the toxic green eyes, and the odd looking clothes that look barely human like with the kind of reptile skulls on his shoulders.
Oh
OH
Oh..
"I'll tell them to move it from your view.." Hal said paling a bit as later on he went closer to Mars where that floating alien child has pointed then disappeared.
Only to see a makeshift grave made from unknown mineral in the red dirt that looked ancient and beyond dusty level that almost made him sneeze.
Hal move the dust away from the tombstone like made of extinct like mineral, with a name that took his lantern green 3 hours to translate which static and glitch.
"Danny phantom
Brother
Planet Savior
Hero
Clockwork's apprentice
Forever King of balance
May he sleep peacefully."

Alien Au! Part 4
Tw: Dehumanization, vague mentions of past unethical experimentation, as well as a panic attack. Stay safe <3
It has been half of a Rattus Servo moon cycle since the crew of the Sun God was finally able to collect the bounty on the poaching ship. And while being a bounty hunter was not Icee’s expected career path, they had to say it was very entertaining. With the added perk of being able to rescue creatures, in the case of their latest endeavors.
There was a variety of animals on the ship, many endangered but easily able to be returned to their natural habitat or a protective planet, after a bit of care, of course. The only one the crew weren’t sure what to do with was the Human. Icee wanted to keep her. The crew wanted Icee to stop getting attached to every single creature that crossed their path. Icee had no clue what they were talking about.
As it was, humans were a very new species, and not many people actually knew what planet they came from or what they were like. The only confirmed humans were found on poacher’s ships and underground markets, and the rest of the connected space species were trying to find the planet of origin to try to protect them. It was too common of a story, honestly, with how big space was and how many planets there were, and there were so many unknown animals found floating around from people trying to make a quick buck. Icee was sure they would find the correct planet soon hopefully, but in the meantime, the crew was stuck with the one on the ship.
Icee wasn’t complaining, of course. They had named the human Moss after her eyes. She didn’t seem like she trusted them quite yet, refused to come near them and would back up from them if they tried getting near, but it was only a matter of time. Already, they had started to make their weird human noises, which was a positive sign.
Minty had said that they probably shouldn’t be in their enclosure that much. Little was known about humans, and the rumors were that they would attack if threatened, which wasn’t very different from any other animal, Icee knew. Getting the creature to trust them, associate them with food and calm and safety would make it so that they would be fine. Besides, Moss hadn’t tried to hurt them yet, just stare at them and make noises and stay huddled in their corner when they left.
Unfortunately, it was time to take Moss to the medbay for a checkup. She had come in with so many injuries, the poor thing, and Icee shuddered to think about the experiences the creature must have endured. They had been putting off the trip for a while, wanting to try to gain her trust at least a little bit, but they need to make sure infection hadn’t set in.
Moss looks up when Icee comes in with the wireless guide, a common contraption meant to help animals get from one place to another without escaping. The last time they had to use this, Moss had been so weak they practically had to carry her. She was better now, they had seen her able to walk around a bit now, but if she even showed a single sign of faltering Icee was prepared to catch her.
Icee can see the exact moment Moss catches sight of the guide. Her body language changes, the noises she makes growing in volume as her head starts moving while she scoots back into the wall as far as she is able to. Her hands are in front of her, and Icee feels a pang of sympathy at the show of fear and aggression. Still, it’s much kinder to the creature to make sure her wounds are treated.
The human shakes, and Icee wonders if that's a defense mechanism as they put the guide on her. They walk slowly, and it is very obvious that they do not want to be here. Icee is going to have to give her so many treats later, even though Icee doesn’t quite know what humans like the best. Moss has eaten everything they have given her, and so Icee does not know her favorite. Still, it couldn’t hurt to give her more frindfruit after the checkup.
“It’s okay, Moss, you are okay. We are just gonna go to check on your bandages really quickly, and then it will all be over, alright?” Icee says, knowing that the human likely doesn’t understand them at all. It’s alright though, because hopefully she can tell that Icee isn’t panicked. An important feature of creating a bond with another creature is to be comforting and reassuring, after all.
When they get to the medbay, Moss completely stops. Before, although unwillingly, she was at least following, but now she isn’t moving, and when Icee looks at her they can see that her eyes are unfocused. A jolt of alarm rushes through them when they see that her chest isn’t moving, like she isn’t breathing. Did they push her too much? Did she do too many strenuous activity, is she dying?
Icee reaches towards Moss, and she jolts away from their touch with a whine. It must be a stress response then, although Icee doesn’t understand what is happening with her. They can’t move her, but she isn’t breathing right, and Icee can hear her gasping for air. They don’t know what to do.
“It’s alright, its ok, it's just meant to make you feel better Moss.” They say desperately,  trying to do something and yet having no clue what to do. In order to help someone, you have to know what is wrong, after all. They debate getting Minty, or Tea, or Mj even, any of the crew, but what if something happens to Moss during that time?
In the end, the choice is taken out of their hands as Moss collapses from the lack of air, and at least they are directly next to the medbay, Icee thinks hysterically. They quickly rush Moss to one of the examining tables. Her breath comes slightly easier now that she is unconscious, and it brings a little bit of relief to Icee, although they are still frazzled and confused. They run a few scans of Moss, trying to make sure nothing else is wrong before they can do what they came here to do, and luckily everything seems to be fine. Icee still has no clue what happened.
Maybe next time, they will try to use a blindfold. Or perhaps try to treat the wounds in Moss’s enclosure, or do anything to ensure that they don’t completely forget how to breathe.
