I need help. Should this be called ‘Rebirth’ or ‘Lives’?

Stepping into the room, the woman smiled softly. “Good. You’re all here.”

As she said this, she stepped to the side and glanced back at the hallway she had just come from. A nod of encouragement had a group walking into the room.

The walk turned into a run as Chris Argent dropped to his knees. “Allison?”

“Dad!” Allison flung herself into her father’s arms.

Isaac found himself also on the ground as he clung to his older brother. Erica and Boyd were hugging Stiles because Derek and Cora were hugging Laura and two other girls. Boyd pulled a young girl to him and introduced her as Alicia, his sister.

Theo watched with a little smile until he saw another woman come in with a second group. “Tara!” With that shout he ran to hug her.

Aiden laughed as Ethan tackled him into the ground. “Miss me?”

“You have no idea.” Lydia announced before she joined the twins in a hug.

The young woman looked over at Talia and her husband, Enoch. “You will take care of them?”

“I swear on my soul.” Talia answered.

Enoch swore on his soul also as Peter stepped into the room with Melissa and Noah, having been called by Scott. The woman nodded and after a glance at the trio, turned and walked away.

“Claudia…”Noah’s voice sounded rough and had Stiles snapping his head up from where he and Scott had been greeting Allison.

“Mom? Mom!” Stiles took a step forward even as Claudia disappeared

Paige Krasikeva was the last person the groups saw as she raised her arms. With a sad smile at Derek and a nod to Peter, Paige shut the link to the dead for good. “Live your lives. You all deserve to.” Were the last words they all heard.

I want to talk about the Teen Wolf siblings, particularly their age differences.

Brett is a freshman in season 4. We don’t know how old Lori is, but later she says Brett only accepted the scholarship at Devenford if they would accept her as well. This means either Devenford includes some middle school as well as high school, Lori was smart enough to skip a grade or two, Brett and Lori are 9 months apart, or they’re twins. It’s also possible she’s a couple years younger and was only recently accepted, but since he bargained for her from the beginning, I don’t think it’s as likely.

Based on the short audio clips from “Motel California” it sounds like Boyd and Alicia were close in age, both pretty young, but when we see her body she looks a little older. I would assume he’s older since he was in charge of watching her.

Malia and Kylie were close in age based on the framed photo in her room. In “Ghosted” Kylie has mysteriously aged from about 7 to about 12. Though this is likely due to forgetting information and not caring enough to fact check their own work.

The same could be said for Theo and Tara. They seem to be close in age, but the actresses playing Tara look like different ages. I would guess in season 5 flashbacks she was 11 or 12 when Theo was 9, but in season 6 she looks 17.

Isaac is 16 in season 2 and Camden would have been 24. There is a discrepency unless I’m missing something. Since season 2 is early in the year I’m willing to bet Camden would be 25 later in the year. If Isaac is 16 and Camden would be 24, that’s an 8 year gap. But if he graduated in 2006, he was born in 1988 and is approximately 6 years older. There’s no concrete evidence of when either of their birthdays are, so perhaps Isaac’s birthday is before Camden’s and there’s a short period of time the gap is 7 years. The calendar puts his birthday in February.

Kate said that growing up Chris always tried to make her look like the bad guy.  In 3B Chris says he was 18-years-old 24 years ago putting Chris’s birth year about 1969. Kate was born in 1983. That is a 14 year gap. Either she exaggerated or lied, which I would believe, or Chris was an incredibly shitty brother, which I would also believe. Could you imagine 17 year old Chris blaming 3 year old Kate for him coming home late one night or breaking their mom’s favorite vase?

We don’t know how old Gerard is. Alexander was 27 when he died. Alexander was 19/20 years older than Chris, so Gerard was probably in his early to mid twenties when Chris was born. A lot of actors’ ages coincide with their character’s approximate age. Michael Hogan was born in 1949, so if Gerard is around his age, he’s 20 years older than Chris and 34 years older than Kate. But then he would one year older than Alexander. Not impossible, but he is likely older.

Hayden is about 16 in season 5 because she can drive. The youngest a cop can be is 20, so at the very least Clark is 4 years older. It sounds like Clark had been her guardian for a while, so the gap is likely larger.

If we are going to believe the “In Memorium” video from MTV, Laura was born in 1982 and Peter was born in 1976. We never actually know how old Derek is. Jeff said his ID, putting his birthday in November 1988, was fake, but why? What is the significance of it being fake? It served no purpose and I think Jeff just wanted to fuck with us. Especially because it’s not canon in the show, he said it outside of the show. And if we believe the calendar that makes Derek a Christmas baby, why would he make himself only a month and a half older?

I’m going to assume Derek was “with” Kate leading up closely to the fire, meaning late 2004. If Derek was 16, or almost 16 if his birthday is Christmas, that would put his birthday in 1988. So in the pilot he’s 22. In the script he was meant to be 19 but then he was aged up because Jeff thought it was more important to traumatize him than find a way around it. In 3A Cora says she’s 17, which would put them at a 5 year gap. Laura is 6 years older than Derek and 11 years older than Cora. And if Cora was 11 by January of 2005, she was born in 1993.

I don’t know if this is canon or fanon that Talia raised Peter. Regardless, he is about 5 years older than Laura, 12 years older than Derek, and 17 years older than Cora. But Talia would have to be at the youngest 8 years older than Peter, and that’s if she had Laura at 13. In “Visionary” she appears to be about mid-forties. If this is within a year of the fire, then Peter is 26/27. The gap between Peter and Talia could range from 8 to 20 years.

I’m just so interested in these dynamics.

I was watching a documentary about a guy from a family with a lot of tragedy in it and one of the things said on this program is "I used to have five brothers. Now I'm not even a brother" because he was 1 of 6 and his 5 brothers all died. And man did it make me think of Derek, I know he has sisters not brothers but like, I just think of him going from having a big family to being completely alone and how much damage that has to do to a person. So much of S1 Derek makes sense in light of that!

oh man that's from kevin von erich. i found an article where the quote is used. apparently it's from an episode of espn's 30 on 30. the recent movie the iron claw was about the von erich family. absolutely tragic.

fandom talks a lot about how teen wolf has a lot of only children but it also has a non-insignificant amount of sibling death.

the catalyst for the events of teen wolf is laura hale's death and derek coming to look for her.

malia and her little sister kylie. even in her coyote form malia kept her sister's baby doll for 8 years and when scott and stiles took it she came looking.

theo killed his sister tara but she haunts him, her heart beats inside him.

camden lahey died before the show but it left isaac bereft a brother.

boyd's sister alicia died and it haunted him.

ethan held his twin aiden as he died.

peter likely had to listen to talia die and was helpless to do anything. he's a little brother left without his big sister.

alexander argent's suicide seems to be gerard's motivation/justification to go after duecalion

marie jeanne had to kill her brother sebastian which ends up mirroring her decedents chris and kate,

chris loses kate first to their father's manipulations and than to her own depravity.

it's a huge plot point that mason absorbed his twin in the womb making him a genetic chimera.

it's why cora hale's survival is such a huge moment and is such pivotal, paradigm shifting, world altering event to derek's character arc. cora hale was the inverse of peter's resurrection. cora being alive and returning gave derek hope. he was no longer the middle child of three left all alone.

Sidney Eckhart hasn't always had it easy. The daughter of a travelling American and an Australian surfer instructor meant that she was constantly torn between two places. Her mother, Louise had been travelling around Australian, in the time between finishing high school and starting college, and got swept up in a whirlwind romance on the beaches of Brisbane. It wasn't hard to fall in love with the place and the people, but especially Simon Masters. He was young, handsome and said all the right things, it was a holiday romance but Louise went back home to the States with a souvenir.

When those two little lines appeared back in Louise's hometown of Camden, Maine - it was more than a surprise, it was life-changing. While it hadn't been the plan, how often does life listen to such things? Sidney and her mother lived with her grandparents who gave never-ending support and love to their grandchild. Due to Louise's young age, the two felt more like sisters than mother and daughter, especially since Louise lacked the emotional maturity to be a mother but also she still went to college every day to become a teacher.

Sidney was never much interested in what other kids were. Forever having her nose in a book, she took life too seriously. There was always something to worry about, her mother's unwillingness to be a great parent, the ravages to time that would take her grandparents away from her, what her father was life and if he knew she even existed. Given how little she could control the first things, she could control whether or not he knew he had a daughter. A single photo of her parents amongst a group of young travellers under a sign that said Kirra Point Surf School had her walking to the local library to search the address.

The correspondence between her and her father went on for years. His first letter didn't come for months, presumably while he mulled over whether this was real or not. But the phone Sidney had sent of her and her mother was evidence enough it seemed. They exchanged letters for years without anyone knowing, eventually moving to long-distance phone calls. When she was twelve, her father sent her a plane ticket to visit. Her mother was firmly against it, but her grandparents knew that Sidney couldn't live a life without knowing her father. Meeting her father for the first time was the highlight of her childhood, she loved the place and could see how easy it was to love a man like Simon.

From this time, Sidney would visit Brisbane and stay with her father. It was the highlight of every year and as she went through her years, she found herself wanting to stay more and more. After graduating high school, Sidney spent a year on the shores of Brisbane, just as her mother did. But eventually, it was time to go back to reality. When deciding what she wanted to do with her life, Sidney decided she wanted to save lives. At first, she thought of nursing but there was something about keeping the person alive long enough to get the help they needed that appealed to her. So upon her return to Maine, she started studying to become an Paramedic.

While she wasn't in medical school, she did often frequent the same library that medical students did to study. And it was here that she met Kaiden, a young, rich, doctor-in-training. They fell madly in love, fast and hard. Sidney didn't ever think she was the kind of person who fell in love but here she was, acting a fool. They moved in together; finally out of her grandparents house, Sidney really thought that this was her happily ever after. But it quickly turned into a nightmare.

The warning signs was small, at first. When it came time for his exams, Kaiden would become irritable, angry. There was a lot of pressure from his family to succeed, another doctor in a long line of overachievers. And while Sidney always tried to help, it seemed that when he was in a mood like this, she could only ever say or do the wrong thing. Then one night, things became physical and Sidney began to wonder how she'd let her life become like this.

She hadn't noticed how isolated she'd become. Avoiding friends and her family, just to avoid having to answer questions about how things were going. Sidney didn't want to have to lie. Work became her safe haven, helping people when she couldn't help herself. But then he'd apologize, make up for all his wrongdoings and Sidney, being so devastatingly in love with him, would forgive. Things would be good for a while, but the cycle would repeat. Time after time.

When she found out that she was pregnant, Sidney wanted it to be a good thing but all she could feel was crushing dread. Maybe she could live like this, but a child couldn't. And while she'd wanted to hide it from Kaiden until she could look at her options, he found out quicker than she'd expected. He'd used his access to hospital files to check her appointment notes with her doctor who confirmed the pregnancy. While he was thrilled, Sidney was not, but she had to play the part. Pretending that she was just trying to find the perfect way to tell him. If he thought she wasn't happy having his baby, she didn't want to think what would happen to her, and now their unborn child.

Throughout her pregnancy, Kaiden was the man that she'd fallen in love with. Helpful, thoughtful, funny. It was almost as if the abuse she'd suffered had never happened. As if she'd made it all up. And when Delphine was born, maybe they'd finally become the happy family she'd thought they could be. But it only took six weeks for Kaiden to become irrationally angry, the lack of sleep catching her off guard and paying for it with a bruised cheek.

She had to be smart, calculated. Sidney didn't want anyone else getting hurt because of her. Slowly squirrelling what little money she had away for a day things got more than she could handle. As long as Kaiden didn't hurt Delphine, she could wait until there was enough to support them. It took years. Sometimes, nothing would happen for months and months, a false sense of security would wash over her and then, it would happen again. Every time, the plan to leave began to take shape. When she finally reached out to her grandparents for help, not for money but a place to stay, they'd recently bought a summer house in a town called Aurora Bay. She didn't tell them the extent of everything, just that they needed a place to stay. A place that Kaiden didn't know about.

Sidney talked to Delphine all the time about leaving, escaping the clutches of the man who'd fathered her child. But every time, it wasn't enough. What if hunted them down? What if he found them? It only took one bruise to bloom on Delphine's arm to realise that they needed to leave. Drugging him with sleeping pills, Sidney made her escape in the dead of night, her daughter in her arms. A car purchased with cash, hidden away, awaited them. They drove all the way to Aurora Bay not stopping except for gas. Eventually they arrived at their new home in Fisher's Cove, a fresh start.

Taking a job as a local paramedic, keeping to herself mostly, Sidney worried about putting down any roots. At any point, if Kaiden caught wind of where they were, they might have to leave. But as time passed, they couldn't help but get sucked into the town and its people. Now Aurora Bay is their home, a place where they are free.

Angelina Johnson: Hello wizarding world. My name is Red-Hot, and you are welcome to this very special ladies night edition of Potterwatch. I am joined today by my lovely co-host, Ridgeback.

Alicia Spinnet: Pleasure to be here Red-Hot.

Angelina: We’re hosting today because River and Rapier are appearing before the Wizengamot today for breaching the international statute of secrecy, among 361 other charges.

Alicia: That’s right Red-Hot. Which brings us on to today’s news. Beloved joke manufacturer George Weasley, and noted entertainer and Griffyndor quidditch team fan Lee Jordan, are currently appearing before the highest court in the land for a variety of crimes.

Angelina: Weasley alleges that his ‘pocket chimera’ product, a miniaturised chimera toy, is not in fact dangerous.

Alicia: This comes after the charms on the product malfunctioned, and no fewer than 12 chimeras grew to gigantic size and terrorised muggles across the country, including members of the royal family.

Angelina: Although it is traditional for the Queen to be informed of the existence of magic, and in fact 2 of Queen Victoria’s daughters attended hogwarts (Hufflepuff 1859-1866 and Ravenclaw 1868-1875), it is unusual, although not unheard of, for a chimera to lay seige to Buckingham Palace.

Alicia: Yes, we all remember the time George III fought off the Chimera of Camden with nothing but a cheese sandwich and a sword allegedly created by Merlin.

Angelina: Weasley now faces hundreds of charges, several of which relate to his other products.

Alicia: Jordan faces several charges, after hijacking a BBC radio 3 broadcast to report on the event. He claims he was trying to warm muggles of the danger, but his repeated use of the phrase ‘this is the f*****g funniest thing I’ve ever seen begs to differ.

Angelina: Any other news Ridgeback?

Alicia: Indeed Red-Hot. Molly Weasley, noted knitter, has been awarded an order of Merlin, 2nd class, for her role in keeping Harry Potter alive and well nourished, and thus indirectly saving the wizarding world. This is on top of the Order of Godric she recieved.

Angelina: The order of Godric dear listeners, is the new honour created by minister Shacklebolt for those Griffindors who fought you know who during either wizarding wars. Counterparts for each of the houses have also been released.

Alicia: A well deserved honour for Mrs Weasley. And finally, the WDSS, or Wizards of Differing Sexualites Society, which offers support for LGBTQ+ members of the wizarding world, has revealed that its founders, kept anonymous for many years, were none other than Albus Dumbledore and Sirius Black.

Angelina: I didn’t know Sirius Black was gay?

Alicia: He wasn’t, but according to the WDSS spokesperson, Sarah Cohen-Musa, Mr Black’s personal papers regarding the founding stated that he helped create the group ‘because his mother was an ardent homophobe and it would annoy her. Also everybody, regardless of gender, orientation, race or blood status should be treated equally. Except Severus Snape’. Albus Dumbledore wished to remain anonymous because he didn’t want the organisation to be damaged by association with him.

Angelina: Fasinating stuff Ridgeback. And now, we are joined by a very special guest, arguably the one of the greatest witches of the 20th Century, Rothesay.

Professor McGonnagal: Good evening girls, lovely to be here.

Angelina: Now Rothesay, you have worked at Hogwarts for many years, and served as deputy during the tenure of Albus Dumbledore. What is the most memorable event during your tenure?

McGonnagal: The Weasley swamp was probably one of most amusing and imaginative uses of magic I have ever seen. There was also the time I caught James Potter and Sirius Black attempting to smuggle a baby Swedish Shortsnout into the Slytherin common room as a ‘gift’ for Severus Snape. The dragon got loose, and spend 8 weeks living in the Astronomy Tower, where it acquired a fairly sizeable horde of trinkets, aided by Peeves, unsurprisingly.

Alicia: Whatever happened to the dragon?

McGonnagal: Despite the objections of Hagrid, who wished to keep it as a pet, the dragon, referred to by James as ‘Remus Lupin Jr’ was eventually rehoused with the help of Newt Scamander to its native Sweden. It later returned to Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament.

Angelina: Is that true?

McGonnagal: yes, all four dragons had previously been to Hogwarts, as it helped them acclimatise. The Welsh Green was also a James Potter prank.

Alicia: Amazing Rothesay. You have been a teacher at Hogwarts a long time. Who, if anyone, was your favourite student?

McGonnagal: Obviously I have no favourites, although I am somewhat partial to Gryffindor students. A personal bias.

Angelina: ok then Rothesay, how about most frustrating students?

McGonnagal: James Potter, Sirius Black, George Weasley, Fred Weasley, Lee Jordan, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Oliver Wood.

Angelina: You said that very quickly Rothesay.

McGonnagal: Ladies, you don’t understand the frustration of Oliver Wood camping outside your office in a Puddlemere United tent for 13 days due to quidditch being cancelled.

Alicia: That sounds very on brand.

Angelina: Finally Rothesay, what is your proudest moment as a teacher?

McGonnagal: The day Harry Potter returned to Hogwarts during the reign of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Followed closely by beating Slytherin in Quidditch.

thoughts on camden lahey

Pondering the idea that Camden had a job like Isaac does. He’s the golden boy, though, and his father wasn’t quite as tyrannical before Camden died, so instead of working at the graveyard, Camden’s the lifeguard at the public pool (maybe the same one Kate is ultimately a lifeguard in). 

It’s a fun job, mostly. Laura and Valerie and the Hewitt twins usually find time to hang out with him, and they make fun of him relentlessly and bring their own whistles and cause general mayhem, but it definitely makes the time pass faster. Sometimes Kara comes by. She wears a bikini instead of her usual workout suit. He tries not to make a fool of himself.

He gets stuck babysitting Isaac sometimes, and he’s an annoying little twerp, but sometimes he can punt the kid off to the Whittemores instead. Sometimes all of them show up at the pool--usually that means Jackson spends the next hour pestering him about swimming technique, annoyingly persistent for someone whose parents could just pay for private swim lessons. But he’s pretty fun to rile up, and Danny and Isaac seem to get along, so it works out. Isaac doesn’t seem to care much about swimming, but he seems intrigued by Danny’s enthusiasm for lacrosse. Maybe he’ll join the team, once they’re all in high school. It’d be good for him. Might get his father off his back a little. Camden hopes it works out.

Camden’s favorite visitors to the pool by far, however, are Boyd and Alicia. Boyd seems to be Isaac’s age, but he’s a lot quieter, very serious--and very devoted to his sister, who is shy. Boyd really only lets loose with her, giggling when she splashes him, but he’s protective of her in a worried kind of way that Camden recognizes, where it seems like anything can happen at any time. Camden chats with them. He suggests Boyd try out for the swim team, once he’s old enough. Boyd seems a bit overwhelmed at the prospect of team sports. He’s very intrigued, however, by the ROTC program Camden is part of. He wants to help people. 

“It’s a big commitment,” Camden tells him honestly. “And a lot of work.”

Boyd thinks for a time. “Is it worth it?”

With anyone else, Camden would make a joke, laugh it off. Or just tell them what to do. Camden is the lifeguard, and the captain of the swim team, and an older brother. It’s what he’s used to. But Boyd’s serious gaze makes him answer, “It is, for me. But I guess you’d have to decide for yourself.”

Boyd frowns at this answer, pondering. “Maybe I will.”

Camden hopes that works out too.

Is it okay to tell you what I need?

I first performed this spoken word poem for @aliciagarza & @Cherrell_Brown Co-founder and foundations of Black Lives Matter USA when she came to visit the UKs first BLM Chapter in Nottingham. I think Artemis would definitely have an appropriate level of respect for Queen TayTay. My girl does have taste, after all! I reckon she would love “Shake it Off” and “Wildest Dreams” and all of the Red album, particularly “Stay Stay Stay” (my personal favourite - I can play it on the ukulele) and “Everything Has Changed”.

However, Artemis is very aware of the fact that she really struggles to hit the high notes in songs traditionally sung by women. She’d probably have more of an affinity for singers with slightly lower ranges, such as Lorde, Adele, Florence Welch, Alicia Keys (the song “Girl on Fire” always reminds me of Artemis), and P!nk. She’s a Camden girl and adores jazzy, soul music so her absolute favourite would probably be Amy Winehouse. I can also imagine her loving rap/grime. I had a HC a while ago about her liking Dizzee Rascal, and I stand by this 😂

In canon, Artemis adores 80s pop and classic rock (The Beatles, Queen, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John), and she’d continue to do so today. When writing the Rockstar!AU @lifeofkaze and I have been assigning lyrics from rock songs to each chapters, including more modern rock music like Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, Oasis that wouldn’t be in her canon. The song “Wherever You Will Go” by The Calling will forever be a song that makes me think of Artemis now.

So this isn't *my* headcanon, I believe someone said it on BHAD podcast first, but just like it would've been great if Parish had been Isaacs brother Camden, someone said what if Vilolet had been Alicia. To clarify: in season 4 there were this 2 assasins called "the Orphans" who looked young enough to pretent to be Liams friends but actually hunted supernaturals, their names were Garrett & Violet and they were played by Mason Dye & Samantha Logan. Since we can't have nice things both were

2/4 killed before anybody knew their backstories, so sadly this head canon went nowhere. But can you imagine? Her name is Violet and she loves Garrett. They hunt monsters. That's all she knows. She can't remember a time she didn't know about monters, didn't know Garrett. They're called The Orphans, even tho she only remembers Garretts parents. She doesn't like to think of them. That way lies pain. They always said the bought her, bought her for Garrett, bought her to fight. They weren't nice.

3/4 Garrett was nice. Garrett protected her. From monsters. From humans. From everything. Garrett turned them into orphans. She loves Garrett. What else is there? But this town. This Beacon. It is strangely familiar. Like a dream. Like a nightmare? She doesn't like her nightmares. Garrett & her don't talk about nightmares. They hunt monsters. But the monsters in this town are different? And there's one that wont fight her. That scared her more than anything ever before. It uttered a name. A

4/4 name she only ever hears in her nightmares. Dreams? He said Alicia. A l i c i a. How? How did he know? Her name is Violet. And she loves Garrett. They hunt monsters. Her name is Violet. Her name *is* Violet? ...right?

DW: I love this a lot! Now I need a fic where alive!Boyd recognises Violet as Alicia, and the Hale pack has to deprogram the two young hunters!
