- absolutely huge arms, legit the size of jack's head, because he works out a lot. wears sleeveless shirts to show off.

- has snake bite piercings.

- really good friends with tommy boy and racetrack. his bestest friends.

- dog person

- he is a really good cook, his ma taught him. he used it to cope when his dad left.

- has lots of scars from random injuries.

- deeply deeply in love with my bro finch but definitely had a crush on race at some point in his life.

- would do just about anything for someone if they offered him a burger.

- rugby player and also a skateboarder.

- listens to a lot of different music but mostly 80's rock or 90's rap.

- trans (ftm) and wears oversized clothes so people don't notice.

- partially deaf.

- bit of a geek but does not let people know. he loves lotr.

- make a LOT of sex jokes. will sometimes just sign them to race across the class and they both start laughing.

“Or whatever,” David repeats, giving Jack an unimpressed look. His head tilts just slightly to the left, and Jack watches David’s gaze look him up and down, like he’s sizing him up. Like he’s looking for his next meal, and Jack is the sorry piece of shit in his way. “Text me. I’ll see you on Wednesday.”

How I feel about this character: Albert is my favorite ensemble newsie in livesies bar none. He is painfully relatable sometimes. I do have some conflicting feelings over the livesies/bway portrayal of his and Race's dynamic because I feel like they took 92sies Race's personality and split it into Race and Albert with Albert taking Race's more serious qualities in the stage adaptation, but I do enjoy Albert as a character and I hope someone gets the poor boy his leg of lamb.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I believe in aroace Albert. So sorry.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Race and Albert but also Crutchie and Albert, specifically in UKsies. I don't know, I just think they're neat and Newsies UK is so special to me. Just look at them and imagine the chaos:

My unpopular opinion about this character: This is going to upset possibly everyone in the entire world, but livesies/bway Albert needs some sleeves. This goes for all of the newsies in the stage/Broadway musical that are missing sleeves. I don't care what the reasoning behind the sleeveless undershirts and vest combo was there is absolutely no way anyone in 1899 would dress like that. Undershirts had long sleeves for one thing, and why would you wear your vest on top but no shirt?? I need answers and those boys need sleeves. Second, Albert is actually not named Albert. Albert is actually his newsie nickname. (I know I was just complaining about historical dress, and the timeline I'm proposing doesn't directly match up but bear with me.) Imagine one of the newsies reads an article about Albert Einstein and his genius work in physics and what said newsie gets from the article is basically, "wow this guy is smart, I bet he's a real wise-mouth" and then Albert gets his nickname as Albert as in Albert Einstein because it evolves from "okay Albert Einstein" when Albert is being a smart-aleck to "okay Albert" and is the equivalent of "no shit Sherlock" in newsie vernacular.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I honestly don't know that I would change anything about Albert as a character. Actually, you know what? What if Albert scabbed? As a treat.

So when you write on your skin and think you’re writing with one person but its actually two people, both of which also think that they’re talking to one person (this could be so hilarious lmao)

And spot and race find out their soulmates (bc their marks are identical obv)

Well one day race is looking into the mirror with a huge black eye and he is furious at spot like “what the HELL did you do this time?!” And spot who was really worried about race after seeing the same thing is like “I WAS GONNA ASK YOU THE SAME THING” because it isnt from him???

And then they realise that there’s a third one

And then they hear rumours or like,,, idk, read a news article or whatever about this fight that happened that exact night

Obviously they have their suspicions but they dont wanna get their hopes up bc it COULD be a coincidence

Anyway so just days later, spot meets this guy and finds out he’s actually one of the people from the fight but he doesn’t have the black eye so he frantically asks him who the other person was and the guy is just like “o-..okay wtf” but gives him the name and shit. spot calls race and they immediately go to the guy (his name is albert) because the bruise is already healing and they may not have much time (obv they could just make another mark. But they are way to dense to think of that)

And the door opens to this abnormally gorgeous ginger guy who’s only current visual imperfection is this bruise. His eyes widen in realisation and then go back to pure confusion when he realises there’s two of them and suddenly everything makes sense ahhhhhh

And optionally (they already know what albert looks like in advance. In this scenario)Albert could have an identical twin who opens the door and for a second they think it wasn’t him after all. After a few seconds of not saying anything, tommy (who would be alberts twin) is like “yes?” Like these two guys -who r obviously soulmates (but he does reckognise that black eye from somewhere)- just show up at his apartment fir some reason and then not say anything?

So race and spot apologise and explain the situation and tommy just grins and lets them in. And they’re like “????” And tommy facetimes albert and they’re just more confused and tommy just says “you got the wrong dasilva twin!” And then they understand. Albert, who doesn’t know who tommy is talking to or what he’s talking about, has the same reaction that tommy had when spot and race show up (but prolly with more anger issues lol) and he’s like “you fucking idiot why di you call me and then not talk to me” and then tommy just hands over the phone to race and spot and albert just blinks like “and you are??” But then he notices something “WAIT THATS MY—? Wait but you—“ and he’s just rly confused and spot and race explain and they agree to meet up and then tgey lived happily ever after

So it’s like a universally acknowledged truth that you share any body marks you soulmate has. Any mark, writing, mud stain, scar, bruise, cut or whatever other marking you can get appears and disappears on each others skin at the same time. but in this case its polyamorous.

SO these three guys (Race, Albert, and Spot) write on their skin to communicate with each other. but the catch is that they think they’re writing to one person but its actually two people, both of which also think that they're talking to one person (this could be so hilarious because sometimes they would confuse each other when saying things that disagree with ‘itself’ when in reality it was simply another person that said that stuff. Because these two guys he doesnt know -who are obviously soulmates judging by the identical black eye they have (but he does recognise that black eye from somewhere)- just show up at his and his brothers apartment for some reason and then not say anything?

So race and spot apologise and explain the situation telling him that they had this bruise and that neither of them got it so they think theres someone third as their soulmate. And since they heard that ‘he’ had gotten in a fight that exact night, they thought it was him but apparently it wasnt *sigh*

When they mention the fact that ‘he’ was in that fight, tommy (alberts twin. This was never alebrt, it’s actually his identical twin) realises that they think that he’s albert. Because he wasnt in the fight: Albert was. He just grins and lets them in.

And they're like "????" Because they dont understand why he would ask them in if things aren’t what they thought they were.

Tommy facetimes albert and they're just more confused and tommy just says "you got the wrong dasilva twin!" And then they understand.

Albert, who doesn't know who tommy is talking to or what he's talking about, has the same reaction that tommy had when spot and race showed up (but a little bit more aggressive on account that they’re siblings) and he's like "you moron why do you call me and then not talk to me" and then tommy just hands over the phone to race and spot and albert just blinks like "and you are??" But then he notices the bruise that looks like his own "WAIT THATS MY-? Wait but you—" (but they are also have the same marks as each other so they’re either each other soulmate, but they also have HIS bruise so one of them is his soulmate, OR…) and he's just rly confused and spot and race explain and they agree to meet up and then they lived happily ever after

I absolutely love the idea of this AU. I debated for a very long time about who I wanted to make Wanda. It was between Jack and Race, as it often is, and I was leaning towards Race for a long time but I think Jack makes more sense in the part.

Jack would’ve grown up with his baby brother, Racer. The two of them lived in Sokovia when they were young, with their parents who were later killed by a missile while the kids were trapped in the debris for over two days, able to see what remained of their parents bodies. Unknown to them at the time, Jack was born with miraculous powers of a witch and is immensely powerful. When they were kids, Jack loved watching sitcoms to escape from the horrors of the world.

Jack grows fiercely protective of his brother after their parents are taken from them. The two of them grow up protesting against the industry that killed their parents until they are basically tricked into Hydra’s experiments of the Mind Stone. These experiments are painful to Jack, amplifying his magic that he was only acutely aware of. This mind stone also gives Race the power of speed and opens a psychic connection between Jack and Race so they can communicate without speaking, making them all that much closer and more dependent on each other. Of the hundreds of people taken into this experiment, Jack and Race are the only survivors.

When the head of that experiment asks the brothers to help fight against the avengers, Jack goes immediately to get revenge on who he deems responsible for his parents’ death. His role is planting nightmarish visions into the heads of his victims to lead to their downfall, whether that means weakening them and scaring them enough to attack or forcing them to kill themselves to end the nightmare. He then helps with the creation of Ultron, who he is lead to believe will bring lasting peace, however, among looking into the machine’s mind, Jack finds that Ultron is planning the extinction of humanity and convinces Race that they need to turn against him.

After seeking help from the avengers, specifically a very skilled archer by the name of Bryan Denton, a very scared and traumatized Jack fights back against Snyder, the man who forced experimental practices on him and his brother, and Ultron.

However, as Ultron is attacking Sokovia, and Jack is guarding what could be a machine of global destruction, Race, who is also taken under Denton’s wing, shields him from being shot while the man is trying to get a young child back to his mother. Race is shot six times and saves Denton’s life by sacrificing his own.

A physical pain takes over Jack when he senses the loss of his brother, who is really the only person he’s ever had. He is unable to breathe for a full minute before he goes after Ultron personally and manages to destroy him.

David, a version of technology that had been destroyed by Ultron and recovered, saves Jack’s life despite Jack walking back into the collapsing city to sit by his brother’s body.

Jack is invited to train with the avengers after this, despite the overwhelming grief and Davey grows closer and closer to him as he is learning how to be human and Jack is relearning how to live without a psychic connection with his brother.

Before long, Jack and David fall for each other and begin to live a life together, desperate to be a happy, normal couple, but as the fate of the world is threatened, are forced to come back and fight with the avengers.

However, Jack discovers that David’s soul is made of the very same stone that created Race’s powers and their psychic link and it is a stone that the world’s attacker is after.

Jack tries to remove us peacefully without hurting David, but as they run out of time, David assures him that he must take it and destroy it, which would surely kill him. After delaying as much as he could, Jack is forced to take the stone and crush it before the alien creature can get ahold of it. However, the time stone allows the alien to rewind time, kill David in front of Jack again, forcing Jack to watch his pain as he takes the stone and wins anyway.

Jack can only scream and hold the body of his love before he falls victim to The Blip and fades away to dust.

When Jack is brought back, Denton takes him in, knowing the kid had lost everything he’d ever had and known.

Then, one day, Jack wakes up in a life he’d always dreamed of, and can’t remember anything before. He is happily married with his husband, Davey and as far as he knows, that’s how it’s always been.

Jack had unknowingly released chaos magic and has painfully forced an entire society into playing roles in a real life sitcom. He tries to allow himself to be happy despite knowing that something is wrong. However, he is aware of his and his husband’s power.

After simply talking about having kids, Jack ends up pregnant, which is a complete shock to him, but doesn’t seem to surprise anyone else, other than David, as Jack shouldn’t be able to get pregnant. Yet after only a few days, he becomes fully pregnant, he gives birth to two identical twins, Michael and Isaac with the help of a neighbor named Charlie who walks with a limp and a cane. After delivering the babies, Charlie seems dazed and confused and asks Jack about Race dying at Ultron’s hand and David being killed in front of him twice, but to protect his new life, Jack telekinetically casts Charlie out of his carefully created world which Jack can recall only for a moment is the result of his own magical enslavement of the town.

After repairing his perfect home, Jack holds his sons and waits for David to come home. They only get to revel in the sight of their children for a short while before the children begin to rapidly age themselves up. Jack is amazed by this as Mike is revealed to have magic very similar to his own and Ike is a speedster just like Race. But as time continues and SWORD continues to try and disrupt Jack’s crafted reality, Jack exits his world to confront them, telling them that if they threaten his perfect world again, they will be sorry. Though Jack still isn’t aware of exactly how he created this world, he knows that everyone he needs is there and he won’t let anyone get in the way of that again.

He goes back home only to find David distraught as his husband has accidentally freed someone from Jack’s control and found that Jac is causing them immense pain. Jack starts explaining that he feels that same pain everyday and this is the only cure for that. Still David insists he stop, though he does tell Jack he loves him and he knows it will be hard.

Almost considering letting go, Jack is interrupted by a knock at the door, opening it to find none other than his baby brother waiting for him outside the door, looking happy and healthy and safe and Jack knows he can’t let that go.

Jack confides in Race, telling him he has no idea what he’s done. He can’t remember anything other than being alone, hurting and angry and all of the sudden, he was here where everyone he ever loved was.

Race comforts him, telling him that maybe it was a second chance.

But Jack can feel that something is wrong as David escapes the town to try and get help for the people, only resulting in starting to die. So Jack, feeling this, expands the boundaries of the town, retrapping Charlie and also getting Albert and JoJo.

Jack starts to lose control of the reality he created and Charlie tries to talk him down but Pulitzer, Jack’s next door neighbor who’d been his friend since beginning, takes him to his house where he reveals that he’s taken Mike and Ike and forces Jack to relive the moment where he took control of the town. The pain of reliving coming back and having no one brings Jack to his knees and he’s unable to lash out as Pulitzer reveals that Jack is the legendary Scarlet Witch, a reincarnation of a Witch that has been around since the beginning of time.

But as Pulitzer tells Jack he’s going to get rid of the kids because they’re not real, Jack fights back, feeling deep down that in some universe, those were his children.

While fighting, Pulitzer frees the town from Jack's hold, revealing to him that he’d accidentally trapped them inside their own grief and nightmares that they relived over and over again while playing their parts in his perfect world. Jack is horrified by this and loses control of his power again, nearly choking all the residents to death. He manages to stop himself and restore the town, letting the people go, but Davey and Race and Mike and Ike begin to disappear before his eyes. So he puts his hex back up in a desperate attempt to save his family.

As SWORD is able to rush into the town, Jack is able to take down Pulitzer by trapping him in his persona that he took in Jack’s dream. Charlie is able to talk Jack down and Jack is forced to say goodbye to his husband, brother and sons and promises Charlie to understand his powers.

Jack is distraught and seeks out the Darkhold that he begins to study.

However he begins to hear the screams of his two boys, Race and David and knows he can’t live without them…

"you. again." albert grins up at his paramedic. always the same guy, every time he faints when he's standing on concrete.

"must be fate," he replies. finch, the paramedic, rolls his eyes as he sits albert on the curb. he crouches down too. albert already has an ice pack on his swelling eye but it's being steadily covered in blood.

"alright, red, can i get the ice?" his ice pack is replaced by some sort of cloth to stop his bleeding. finch holds his chin in one massive hand as he checks the damage.

"how bad is it?"

"few stitches, i think."

"oh, we're getting better at taking a fall then."

"maybe if you listened to me and your doctor, you wouldn't have to take so many falls."

"mm, but then how would i see you?" finch rolls his eyes again.

"alright, concussion check time."

"i'm albert dasilva, it's 2024, and i'm on the curb of a street i just fainted on- instead of your bed, which i'd prefer." finch swallows and tilts albert's head to check the bleeding again.

"i think it's time to move you."

"to your house?"

"to the hospital." albert shakes his head in disappointment. "you should reserve the bed in my ambulance, you've been here so much."

"i have a bed you could reserve." for all his aggressive flirting, finch stays very calm and very professional. which is unbelievably boring.

"that's okay, i have my own, red." he sits in the ambulance as finch slams the doors shut and starts getting his bearings. "let me see the bleeding." albert nods and lifts the cloth. "it's still going. man, you might need more stitches than i thought."

"what?"

"it's just some stitches. you've gotten lots."

"finch, how many are we talking?" he holds his arm out for an iv and waits for an answer.

"i don't know exactly." finch wipes some blood off his face and smiles reassuringly. "albert, calm down, you'll be fine. we're just a moment from the hospital." albert bounces his leg until they get there. and then he starts to panic.

sure, he's gotten lots of stitches. but not on his face and not so close to his eyes and not where something could really go wrong. and then what if something bad happens before he can actually ask out finch?

"do you want me to come with you?" finch asks. "i can take a break. it's been a slow day."

finch is still there when he gets sat down in the emergency room and someone starts asking him questions. albert must be panicked cause finch has to answer half of them for him.

"birthday?" the nurse asks.

"it's june 17, 1999," finch tells her. "he just turned twenty-five." after some more questions, the nurse tells him someone will stitch him up soon and that he'll be okay. she leaves. "wow, you're really panicking, huh?"

"i'm fine." he pulls his legs onto the bed.

"did you want a good luck kiss?" finch asks.

"what?" his head snaps up.

"don't tell anyone. other people on my calls would get jealous." albert stares at him, trying to tell if he's joking.

finch clears it up for him. he slides his hand into albert's hair and tilts his head up- and then hesitates. bullshit, he's waited too long. he drops the cloth stopping the blood on his cheek and draws finch into a kiss. "red." he can feel finch's breath on him. "please."

albert is too much in everything. he's a little too intense and there's more of him in everything than there needs to be.

but this isn't like that. it doesn't feel too much.

it's tender in a way he never has been. soft and careful. finch holds his face like he's precious, like he might break, and albert keeps his hands firmly in finch's belt loops, to make sure he doesn't bolt, to make sure he's still there.

the door opens again and a nurse clears her throat. finch steps back, a flush on his cheeks, before kissing him once more for good measure. "if i panic some more, do we go on a date?" he asks, cause he still needs to flirt.

"if you get me your number, we can do anything you want, red."
