awww thank you for including me. this has just been sitting in my box for the past couple of days but HERE I AM- in no particular order:

This doesn't really have a name... It's just called Merman AU

and it's not a 'fanfic' it's half a collection of headcannons for this AU and half snippets from this idea that I posted on tumblr at @haikyuu-aus-cuz-i-cant-write (oops look who has actually written now jfdksalf) basically this is a cross between the little mermaid and the monkey's paw. I really liked this but it was wayyy too big of an idea for me to write and you can see that I stopped after writing Suga's wish which is reallly funny considering this whole idea spawned from wanting a mermaid/human bokuaka AU and i was not near to getting to the meat of the story at all

yes i just recently posted this, yes i've had this in my folders for like 3 years. this one... this was spawned from an old friend - who i don't speak with anymore - offhand comment that a fanart looked like akashi was an android. four hours after they said that i had half of this fic, and they said it was the best writing i ever shared with them. they encouraged me to expand it but i kept hitting a wall and then we had a falling out and through out the years ive been coming back to this trying to add and edit and i decided to reclaim it as my own and publish it. the idea is that it's an introduction to a lighthearted sitcom/romcom between decommissioned war android akashi and engineer who fixed him up furihata

i cyclically get star trek brainrot and this time it had a dash of akafuri, i really like how i described things in this one since furihata doesn't think in words but emotions and images instead, idk it was a good writing exercise

Horror wip

ive been hemming and hawing at it for literal months now because i have one central driving image behind my eyelids that i want to get to. its just been... harder than usual to get to it. i've rewritten like 3 times trying to get it write. i've currently landed on 2nd person narration with some thrown in spices of 1st person to signify that we are in the being- akashi's- point of view haunting furihata (the you) and its giving me an opportunity to make the reader feel akashi's destroying love from the front seat. my other goal with this is to write some surrealistic imagery soooo yeP

i cant not include this. this damn fic/series/idea has been brewing in the back of my mind for so damn long if it was a human child it could hold a fucking conversation. the imagery. the themes. the depth of emotion- AND WE ARE BARELY GETTING INTO THE WAR!? ITS BEEN 50K+ WORDS AND ITS JUST GETTING STARTED (or ending, if you wanna look at it that way) idk its... its been so long since i wrote part 1 that that fic doesn't feel like "mine" anymore? idk but it always makes me smile seeing an email saying that someone else liked the fics too.

Cute and a unique premise, it oozes with that special nostalgic liminal space. It's first person but it works very well at capturing Furihata's mind and personality. It's a fun read

- Whether Asleep or Awake (I Think of You) by touougakuen

SUPER CUTE! It's an office au exploring their dynamic with top teir portrayals of Akashi and Furihata. It made me squeal and roll around on my bed, give it a read if you haven't yet! (The short oneshot sequels are good too)

- The Lion and The Lamb by Humanity's_Shortest_Solider

I have the biggest and longest brain worms for this fic. It's a twilight au with just the most lovely vampire Akashi characterization. Again if you haven't read it yet please do and if you have reread it. (Also read all of their fics)

Since we are talking about greek mythos inspired fics here is my achilles/patroclus AU (I am not above promoting my current longstanding wip agsgsje) basically, princely demigod akashi needs a charioteer for a prophesied war, he picks Furihata, and they slowly fall in love while waiting for the call of war to arrive at their doorstep. I think it's a fun and good time

Tofu Soup is a collection of one-shots (go ahead and read it if you wish) but chapter 5 is an au where Akashi is a Superhero having a fight with his nemesis and Furihata's flowershop is some collateral damage. I Think I'm in Love with a Superhero is a continuation of the story and it's just, super cute and fresh and unique

- The Truth about Reality orphaned

One of my all time faves, it's first person but that really helps ground you into Furihata's perspective. It's just so heartbreaking? It makes me yearn so much because Furihata is yearning so much. It shows a couple of different sides of their relationship and in my personal opinion Furihata has one of his most mature moments I have ever seen

Why I am so obsessed with Furihata Kouki?

I just love him. I love shipping him with Akashi (AkaFuri 4 ever) and I don’t think I can’t get over of him.

•  And He Embraced Them All (Because Kouki Is Worth It) : In which Teikou!Akashi switches places with his future self and meets Seirin!Furihata. Time skip AU.

•  Solitary Bliss : Akashi is away on a business trip, leaving Kouki alone and yearning for him, but when he finds comfort in a relic deeply linked to their past, his misery rapidly subsides. Fluffy smutty AkaFuri.

•  The Sun and the Mole Rat : Akashi Seijuurou was like thesun; beautiful, radiant and infinitely unreachable. It was an impossibly stupid thing that someone like him could ever be compared to someone like Furihata Kouki,who was so ordinary in everything, nobody would look at him twice should he walk down the crowded streets.

•  Who Are You? : It starts with an accidental love letter. Then friendship and relationship happen… for quite a while until something inside Akashi snaps and ends it one-sidedly. It’s a lot of hard work to get Furihata’s Akashi back, but it still works out in the end.

•  Anomalies : If there was one thing Kuroko hadn't expected when he ordered Furihata and Akashi to take their children on playdates, it was this.

•  (Look) What You've Done : The one where Aomine is a cop and Kagami is a firefighter.

•  A Kitchen Window Like This ⭐: Kagami and Aomine start a long weekend off on just the right notes.

This is literally one of the sweetest domestic aokaga out there.

•  Cum Here Often? : Kagami’s team win the All Japan Intercollegiate Basketball Championship and they go out to “celebrate”.

•  Dumb Werecats Who Play Basketball : Kagami has a hard enough time being a madararui before his hot rival starts smelling really, really good. Sex Pistols crossover.

•  Corners : Mafia!Aomine is out to wipe out Kagami on his boss’ orders. Semi PWP. I suck at summaries, sorry.

•  Firefly Without a Light ⭐: Aomine Daiki is occasionally a shitlord and sometimes he figures that out without needing to be told. Other times, not so much. Porn + emotional rollercoaster.

•  First Time Fit For A King : "Yeah." Kagami rubs the back of his neck awkwardly."I don’t get it though. Why me?"

"Because." Aomine tilts his head up a little, and Kagami doesn’t know if he should feel insulted that Aomine is literally sticking his nose up at him. "You're the only one who has the potential to beat me at basketball. Maybe."

•  Jersey : “Oh my god,” Kagami says, and he’s grinning now, a sleepy, shit-eating grin. “Thisis a thing for you, isn’t it?”  , a.k.a, jersey porn.

•  Overexposed ⭐: AoKaga and taking shots off abs.

•  Packed Like Sardines : Train porn lol 😂 or whatever fucking in a train car is called.

•  playing pick-up ⭐⭐: Aomine comes to visit Kagami in the US except — “Hey, Kagami,” Aomine asks.“You live in Las Vegas, right?”

“What? No,” Kagami replies, readjusting his phone underneath his shoulder.

“Well, I’m in the airport at Las Vegas right now,” Aomine begins, and Kagami doesn’t even want to hear the rest.

•  Rewind > Pause > Play : Kagami threatens to leave when Aomine turns to alcoholism to cope with his career and has given up putting forth an effort in their relationship. Angst with a happy ending.

•  S.A.A : The idea of sitting in a room with a hand full of people discussing how sex makes them feel was not at the top of Kagami Taiga’s to-do list, but when that dark skinned, blue eyed stranger walked into the room, Kagami found himself editing that list and putting that man at the very top.

•  some kind of madness : Aomine picks a fight in a bar trying to protect Satsuki’s virtue (🤣🤣) and Kagami patches him up.

•  Strut : Kagami congratulate Aomine on a very flashy win in his own special way.

•  THE RISE OF ASIA: NBA EDITION ⭐⭐⭐: Aomine and Kagami, through the eyes of an interviewer. A masterpiece, truly. This is one of the very first AoKaga fics I read and I'm still very much in love with it.

•  The Power A Name Can Hold ⭐⭐⭐: Super long soulmate AU full of angst and hurt, but with a happy ending. Absolutely stunning.

•  The Care And Feeding Of ⭐: Halfway through his tenth burger and Aomine’s fourth, listening with only a half an ear towards that bastard’s constant grumble of thought with the occasional hurmph of ingestion thrown in, Kagami realized that he was,in fact, actually dating Aomine Daiki.

An all time favourite full of silliness.

•  The Hot Neighbour : It takes Kagami three weeks to move into his new apartment but only one day to start stalking the incredibly hot salaryman in a suit.

•  the pizza factory ⭐: Aomine gets accepted at the pizza factory where Kagami is a chef. Or so it goes. A very funny, snarky personal favourite.

•  thigh to thigh : Kagami's more experienced than Aomine is; that's not exactly saying much. PWP.

•  Twitter Project : Kagami's social studies class has a new project: Tweet a celebrity of your choice. Aomine has been on the receiving end of some hilariously awkward tweets recently.

➡️ sequel : TakaShin sidestory, very cute with a pinch of AoKaga from before.

•  underneath the cup in a black, marker pen ⭐: Kagami writes letters on styrofoam cups to hardworking salaryman Aomine. Coffee shop AU.

•  Wildcat Blues : In a world where shapeshifters, vampires, wizards and other preternatural beings walk the land, finding everlasting love can be a bitch.

•  Worst Kept Secret : In which Kagami Taiga is a werewolf and nobody is supposed to know. Key point - 'supposed to'.

•  Wrong Number ⭐: Aomine managed to score this busty babe's phone number, but when he texted her, the person who responded was everything but busty.  

•  texts from last night ⭐⭐: Kagami gets smashingly drunk and Aomine takes it upon himself to drive him home. Drunk sex ensues.  

▶️Kise Ryouta/Kasamatsu Yukio

Okay, so I saved my favourite KnB ship for the last! Have fun!

•  (500) Days of Kise ⭐: Wherein Yukio Kasamatsu's life is a romantic comedy. Office AU and so very cute. Mutual pining. Kinda, if I remember right.

•  The God of Small Things : Kise gets scratched by Kasamatsu's new cat. Cat fluff.

•  flower/s : Kasamatsu comes home from a work related trip, and Kise has something up his sleeve for Senpai’s return.

• KiKasa Week series :

1. he's got the answer it doesn't go away : It figures that the universe won't even give Kasamatsu the luxury of hindsight bias.

Okay. This is like, the best of Yukio that I've seen. Team dynamics and Kise joining Kaijou.

2. what you have tamed : First lesson in being team captain: you don't get a break.Ever.

3. slow down if you want to : It's been a week already, and Kasamatsu still can't let go.

4. in the face of these forces : Wherein Kise only started playing basketball in his third year of middle school, and Kaijou still scouted Teikou's small forward.

•  Perfect Coffee : Kise was a perfect employee– he had a sunny disposition and stunning looks who attracted the customers and he additionally had a real talent for making coffee. So he was a blessing that gods had bestowed upon Kurokocchi and his friend, no matter what they both said.

•  Of French Girls And Pretty Boys ⭐⭐: Kasamatsu takes up art class for extra credit, and Kise is the unfairly attractive figure model. College AU.

•  Narita Ground ⭐⭐⭐: Kise loves riling up Narita Ground's air traffic controller.

This is one of those “if you ship kikasa and haven't read narita ground, then you're living under a rock” kinda fics. I swear by it. Ultimate favourite.

•  KNB TFLN : College AU with multiple pairings besides KiKasa. Smutty.

•  First Impressions : But Kise Ryouta, damn his eyes, is beautiful., OR

Yukio looks over Kise’s profile before he comes to Kaijou.

•  Ten Things Kasamatsu Finds Annoying(ly Endearing) about Kise : Kise always smiles at Kasamatsu when he's finally done with his seemingly-interminable beauty regimen (there is no other word suitable for this) and says, "Thanks for waiting for me, senpai."

•  Fadeaway ⭐: Kasamatsu dodges. "You don't deserve that," he says, setting a slightly faster pace. "Inconsiderate, stupid, no-good first-year aces and their idiotic, inconsiderate, stupid, worrisome actions."

•  KiKasa Week series ⭐⭐⭐:

➡️  ️part 1 : “He's good-looking?” Kise demanded, before he could stop himself with the thought of how unattractive jealousy was.

Okay so this is at the end cuz it's super old and I couldn't find the active link, but nevermind. It's fucking awesome.

➡️  part 2 : Kise peeked at him. "But cute?" he said, trying to recapture the dutiful boyfriend adoration look.  

Kasamatsu stared at him. "Now that's just gross," he said.  

➡️ part 3 : "You do look kind of like him," said Kasamatsu, since obviously no one else was going to come out and say it.

"I really don't," said Kise, his mouth hilariously turned down.

"Maybe in a few years," said Kasamatsu. "You'll grow into it."

Furihata's life has always been a mess. He knows it, he's used to it, and he doesn't want anyone else to feel obligated to deal with it. So when the imposing Rakuzan captain finds out his situation and (for some unfathomable reason) wants to help, he's not sure how to react. He doesn't need anyone's help, especially with the Generation of Miracles attempting to get involved now. Because he's fine. Really. He's fine.

Comments:  I love brave Furihata so much, and he’s so protective over his siblings in this one that I get the warm fuzzies in my chest. Also, you get bonus cameos featuring a HQ character or two...

A good song recommendation for this fic is Terrified by Among Savages.

Comments:  Part 1 of the series Designation: Miracle. Holey moley y'all need to go read this series. Can’t believe I’ve been in the fandom this long and haven’t gotten around to it until now. Definitely a KnB staple fic! Also, umisabaku has mentioned in the notes that the songs And We Run and Filthy Halls really set the mood for this series, and inspired most of the chapter titles as well. They are currently my favorite songs at the moment, and I highly recommend having them play in the background when you start off this series to get a feel for the tone.

Summary:  Something is wrong with Kuroko. After months of friendship and partnership, Kagami's starting to lose track of him again. When Kagami realizes that Kuroko is deliberately reducing his presence, he makes it his mission to find out why and to make it stop. Even if Kuroko has no intentions of helping.

Comments:  Part 1 of the gen series Morning Light. Very angsty! Also, I consider this one of the fandom staple fics - it’s a must read! Here are two really good playlists put together by the author titled It’s a New Dawn and When Did The Sky Turn Black. Two songs that I really think really fit with this fic are Kingdom Come by The Civil Wars and Brother by NEEDTOBREATHE (this is one of my favorite songs acutally, and it makes me feel so ANGSTY).

Summary:  A series of connected oneshots set in an AU where Kuroko didn't immediately join Seirin's basketball club, and kaiju appeared during his first year of high school. When Kuroko and Kagami prove to be drift compatible, they find themselves at the helm of a Jaeger, facing monsters far worse than any they could have met on the court.

Comments:  PacRim AU - can I get a Hell Yeah?!  A couple good song recommendations for this fic are Do You Feel Alive and Same Old War.

HOW DOES IT FEEL? The GoM are determined to find who hurt him and make them pay, but along the way must face the mistakes they made in middle school, and realize the pain their actions caused others.

Comments:  A good song to pair with this one is All We Do by Oh Wonder.

Ah! Umm! A Place to Call Home by Potatopierrot - AkaFuri 18k words

It was up to Kouki to show Seijuurou that imperfection was not a disability, that they were all only human.

An extremely underrated but utterly heartwarming work that deserves all the praise. This was one of the first works I read when I jumped onto the akafuri wagon and I still hold this very dearly in high praise. The dynamic of their relationship in this made me sit up and notice Akashi and Furihata very very differently than their usual fanon portrayals.

Rin comes to terms with something he never thought he wanted.

The classic case of Friends with Benefits to Something More - Which the author wanted to stop with the Friends with Benefits but ended up writing a whole 70k saga which incidentally became the MakoRin Bible. All of Astra’s works are hilariously charming and cheesy and sassy that you can never get enough of it!

Such a beautiful work oh my god! Draco is so so caring here and he is cursed and he still helps Harry out, albiet unwillingly at first and its so poignant! Ahh!

Harry has no idea; he’s too busy trying not to be in love with Malfoy to care.

The author is the go to person for any, I repeat, any explanation regarding the working of magic. The work is marvelous and detailed and intriguing and! Portrait!Snape at his snarky best!!

Parent Trap AU!! And oh man! So stunningly written! I almost cried when Draco hugs James and during the scene in the Hotel. The writing is exceptionally beautiful and you should definitely read it!

Magical Theories at their finest! A rec list should have atleast one Bonding fic in it and whats better than the best! This is so carefully constructed and beautifully written and I am so in awe of this fic! Ahhhh!

Okay, first of all. THIS FIC IS THE CUTEST THING I’VE READ ALL WEEK. Like seriously, why this doesn’t have more kudos would forever be a mystery to me. Because it’s really, really good. It’s a one-shot/drabble collection about all the ways akafuri said the word “I love you” and I just. So many feels man. The fluff ones are good. The angst ones are good. Every single chapter is just so very precious.

Me, foaming at the mouth for a part 2

By Furihata’s count, war had nearly broken out at least four times from the time he stepped into the room to now, the fifth occasion and most likely event to teeter from nearly to all out slaughter and impending warfare. There’s a knife at his neck, which is the only reason he hasn’t fainted yet, but he is shivering so hard he keeps accidentally brushing up against the blade. His assailant actually has to keep readjusting the blade just so he doesn’t cut Furihata prematurely, which is very nice of him, Furihata thinks, but not at all reassuring. 

“You insult the witch clan,” Mibuchi Reo says, and so far everyone has held off on murdering anyone (namely, Furihata, since he can’t help but notice that no one else has a weapon directly pointed at them.)

“We haven’t,” Hyuuga says, his eyes flashing. “We came here in good faith. You’re the ones who keep violating the treaty. We are not the ones raising weapons.” 

Izuki would have, Furihata thinks, as soon as the weapon had been on Furihata. But Hyuuga stopped him, which Furihata understands (they’d lose everything, if both sides draw weapons–there’d be no chance of peace then) but can’t help but resent a little since it’s currently his neck on the line.

“You–” the man holding the knife starts, but he’s cut short by a single voice:

“Hayama.”

The man scowls but lowers his knife. Furihata doesn’t move away. Only because he’s pretty sure he’s paralyzed, not out of any sense of bravery, and everyone in the room seems to know that. Furihata tries very hard not to look at the man who had spoken, but fails. Akashi Seijuurou commands a lot of attention. He would, even if he wasn’t Furihata’s future husband.

Theoretically.

“We agreed to an alliance,” Reo continues. “A marriage between the prince of the witch clan and the highest ranking noble in the fairy clan. Are you telling me this is the noble leader of the fairy clan?” Reo gestures to all of Furihata. 

“Of course not,” Hyuuya says, and Furihata flinches in anticipation of the blade that is surely going to lop off his head in the next few seconds. “We don’t have a noble leader.”

The witches don’t seem to know what to do with that. “Explain,” Akashi says, causing Furihata to flinch again.

“We did try to explain at the negotiation, but you didn’t listen,” Riko says. “The fairy clan doesn’t have an aristocracy. We don’t have leaders. No one member of the clan is any more important than the next member.”

“So you, what, picked the first poor soul you could find to marry our prince and glorious leader?” Reo’s voice indicates this better not be the case.

“Lots,” Furihata manages to squeak out. His voice was so small that no one would have heard him, had the room not been charged with deadly silence.

“What was that?” Hayama threatens.

“We drew lots,” Furihata says, shrinking. “Everyone did, to be fair. I–” he barely manages to stop himself from saying lost– “won.”

Akashi has a very small smile on his face, almost a smirk, like he absolutely knows Furihata was not going to say ‘won.’ “How extraordinarily unlucky for you.”

Furihata decides it’s best not to say anything to that.

“Very well. Let us proceed,” Akashi says.

“Akashi-san!” his people exclaim. The fairy clan does not win any points by looking as equally shocked by this announcement.

“If they do not have a prince, then they do not have a prince,” Akashi says. “It is distinguishing enough to marry the unluckiest fairy in the clan.”

Against all odds, it looks like Furihata is going to be married after all, instead of murdered.

He’s honestly not sure which is preferable.

A/N: For the anon-friend who wanted arranged marriage fic! I made it fantasy, because that’s how I roll. Hope you enjoyed it! =)

What's your thoughts on Hyuga and Riko, Akafuri (curious), Zukka, Taang, Kataang, and Zutara? My haikyuu server has gotten deep into atla, what's your thoughts on them though

I hope the colors show on a normal screen bc my cringe laptop’s fail screen makes it hardly even discernible lol!!!!

SO breakdown:

Hyuga/Riko: It’s probably the one relationship in KnB that is like. A given, for me??? Like they’re always there to support each other but otherwise they’re both their own people with well-rounded personalities and goals of their own. I can totally see them going out, and I have made them a side couple in many of the things I wrote (probably mostly in rp) because they’re so obviously in love. The only thing keeping me back from being a full-blown shipper is the uncertainty regarding Kiyoshi. Like, I love him too right? And he’s almost on pair with Hyuga as the man who Riko cares about the most. I think (or maybe I’m making this up) they were even dating in the past, and I can’t really fit them into an OT3 narrative with Hyuga even though I want to. But I really see them more as two rivals who are competing for Riko, even tho Riko loves them both aha

Akashi/Furihata: Hopefully I’ll pay closer attention with this rewatch but I haven’t really understood the appeal behind this one?? I’m a curious person and I’d gladly hear you out if you have any thoughts and I’ll even take any kind of recs you’d give me!!! As far as I remember, they didn’t even really interact besides a few instances where Akashi tried his intimidation techniques on poor Furihata omg

Toph/Aang: Just like AkaFuri, I never... really saw the romantic appeal in this? Maybe as a childhood crush, I’d get it, because hey, who here didn’t crush on their best friends? But I see more of a friendlike, siblinglike relationship between them. Temper-wise it’s really just trying to force earth and air together and expect them not to crash.

Katara/Aang: WELL HERE GOES *MY* CHILDHOOD. I spent so much time sitting in front of the TV rooting for these two to finally confess their feelings to each other. If there’s such a thing as soulmates, Katara and Aang were bound to be that. I can’t even say anything more than that because just like it is with Riko and Hyuga, I just can’t not imagine them together.

Zuko/Sokka: I don’t?? hate it?? I really, really don’t, but I’ve also never really consumed any content that wasn’t just like. your regular meme of the two of them being very dudebro-like and poking fun of the “My girlfriend turned into the moon.” “Damn that’s rough, buddy.” exchange sjfdsjfds. I think they have the capacity to lift each other up and bring out the best in each other after they’ve worked out the obvious kinks of starting off as enemies. Also, I’m always down for ships that are a little dudebro-like.

Zukko/Katara: Again, I see the appeal, and I would be open to any kind of recommendations, but my heart lies with Kataang. I understand that for some, Katara’s initial unwillingness to forgive and forget could result in a way stronger bond, or hell maybe even attraction, but somehow I can’t imagine her getting it on with Zuko, the prince of the Fire Nation, and not feel terrible guilt/self-loathing for doing so, even if Zuko had long proved himself to be a reliable ally who had always been on their sides. But yeah, it’s been a while since I rewatched it and now I’m just eagerly awaiting its release on Netflix in my country to do so. Maybe when I’m through with that, I’ll just revisit this ask and give you my refreshed opinion!!

In honor of the Fandom Fic Rec Days, I’m going to try to best to compile a list of some of my favorite works/authors! Fanfiction is a huge part of my life, and I can’t express how grateful I am to all the wonderful people who take the time to create their own stories. Despite the love for fanfiction, a lot of people (I’m guilty of this myself) don’t take the time to pass along that appreciation to the author themselves! But as someone who started writing myself a year ago, I wanted to make sure I took the time to say my thanks to all the wonderful people out there for all the hard work they put into the stories that have inspired me so much <3

Kuroko no Basket

The Fast Train to Kyoto (AkaFuri) by @courtingstars. I have to list this one first, since it’s definitely the #1 murderer of my heart! It’s an AkaFuri friendship fic, and it’s honestly almost scary how well written and in character it is. It’s a complete eight chapter story, with a sequel in the works! If you ship AkaFuri, I cannot recommend this story enough! (And if you don’t ship Akafuri, I still highly recommend checking her writing out! Everything she writes is perfect,and she has a ton of fics for ships in KnB other than AkaFuri) 

Loser (AkaFuri) by @heema-wren. Another wonderful Akafuri fic that 100% sold me on this ship. It’s eleven chapters, and incomplete, but it’s still a fic I go back and read over and over again. If slow burn and tons of mutual pinning between two idiotic teenage boys is your thing, than I have the hook up for you! (She also has a few AkaFuri onshots -and some smutty ones!- that I also highly recommend checking out!)

Designation Miracle Series (Multi-ship) by @umisabaku. This is easily my favorite AU that I’ve ever read?? And this is coming from someone who generally doesn’t like AU’s, lol. It’s a little dark, and revolves mainly around human experimentation. Everyone is perfectly in character, and background is so well-written that you won’t feel confused by jumping into it. It’s thirteen chapters, complete, and has several other works in the series that follows the same timeline. (She also has several other stories, including some beautiful fairytale AU’s that I love.)

The Lion’s Keeper (AkaFuri) by Melonnaise. I love, love, love this fic! It’s an AU where teenage Furihata is hired to be a caretaker for young Akashi. After a few years, Furihata leaves for college, and the two of them re-meet when Akashi is graduating from Rakuzan. It’s a super slow burn, and filled to the brim with sexual tension (that pays off in the end, shhhh.) It’s fourteen chapters, and complete! (And her one and only AkaFuri fic, I can’t believe this, lol)

*To save this from getting super long, I’m gonna call out some people who’s fics I love to read, or who first inspired/talked me into starting to write myself!

@cerberosthehellguard. One of the first names I started to recognize from the AkaFuri fandom! (Cerberos on AO3)

@shipthepuppy Another name in the AkaFuri fandom. They have ton of super cute AU’s! (ShipThePuppy on AO3)

@jubesy She has a literal ton of fics for the KnB Fandom, but my personal favorite is her “I do” series about Akafuri married life! (SharkGirl on AO3)

@seijuuroll-cake Literally a one-stop-shop for anything and everything KnB! You want some NijiAka? Here you go. How about an AkaKuro AU? Check it out! Tons of fluff, smut, and AU’s! (herdustisverypretty on AO3)

Attack on Titan

Again (Eruri) by Cherry. A beautiful reincarnation AU where Levi and Erwin live in different periods throughout history, but they don’t remember each other or their past lives until they see each other. Sometimes it ends in cute fluff, and other times in heartbreak. It’s eight chapters, and not complete, but it gives you more than enough to read it over and over again. 

Black Dog (Eruri) by Stereobone. Takes place after ACWNR, and revolves around Levi dealing with his recent loss, and coming to terms with that fact Erwin might be the only source of comfort he has left. It’s six chapters, complete, and full of cute bits as well as tons of angst and smut!

Durarara!!

Sympathy (Shizaya) by @tastewithouttalent. This was one of the first Shizaya fic I read, and it stuck out to me immediately. It’s perfectly in character, and the plot is one that seems realistic for these two.  It’s full of suspense and plenty of sassy banter! It’s eight chapters and complete, and I for anyone interested in this ship I recommend checking this author out! (I swear I’ve read all their shizaya fics like a dozen times each, it’s so good!)

*Side note: I NEED FOR FICS FOR THIS SHIP. I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THESE TWO.

I apologize if I forgot anyone, but I think I managed to mention everyone who has somehow made an impact in my fanfiction life! Keeping doing what you’re doing (seriously please I need it okay). Brief for New Blog

This blog is recommended for: 

1) People who are looking for good fics/want to add a fic rec blog to their list of followed blogs, as that is the main purpose of this blog. The main reason why it’s AkaKuro on the title is because I’m more knowledgeable about AkaKuro fics than with other pairings. It’s safe to ask me about:

Fic Rec Time!!

Since it’s the start of Fandom Fic Rec Days...here are a few fabulous stories that deserve a share! These are in no particular order~

Those Flooded Fields by Euphorion @flightlesscrowkids Rated:  T (Violence) Fandom:  Haikyuu!! Pairing(s):  KageHina, AsaNoya, KiyoYachi, DaiSuga, TsukiYama, KuroKen, BokuAka, IwaOi Status:  WIP Summary:   Post-apocalyptic but not particularly dystopian (yet) Artificial Intelligence AU where Kageyama is a voice in Hinata's head and they're still not very good at communicating. Title from Neko Case's Fox Confessor Brings the Flood. A word from Jubesy:  Oh my goodness.  This world is so interesting and the angst is legit.  What a cool concept!  It’s written well and it’s interesting no matter the character’s POV.

the Sun and the Mole Rat by TCon @secretly-devious Rated:  M Fandom:  Kuroko no Basuke Pairing(s):  AkaFuri, KagaKuro (mentioned) Status:  Complete Summary:  Akashi Seijuurou was like the sun; beautiful, radiant and infinitely unreachable. It was an impossibly stupid thing that someone like him could ever be compared to someone like Furihata Kouki, who was so ordinary in everything, nobody would look at him twice should he walk down the crowded streets.  So when Akashi came onto him for a fuck, he didn’t exactly say no. AkaFuri Future-Fic A word from Jubesy:  I love this.  It was one of the first AkaFuri fics that I ever read.  It’s hot and angsty and (spoiler) has a happy ending!  Definitely worth the read!

The Iunctio-Stones Series by Luxie @flyingassassin Rated:  E Fandom:  Free! Pairing(s):  SouRin, MakoHaru Status:  Complete Summary:   “I'll do it.” Sousuke says, looking the doctor straight in the eyes. “I just have to ask. What's the down side?” The doctor smiles again, wider and with a glint in his eyes. “The down side, Yamazaki-san, is that you get to be a Superhero.” A word from Jubesy:  Sexual tension at its finest.  Danger?  Action?  Adventure?  It’s all there!  Really cool premise and it includes a lot of side characters from Free!, which is always nice.

Now they're finally integrating into society-- going to normal high schools, playing basketball, falling in love-- and trying to find out if it's possible to truly escape their past. A word from Jubesy:  An amazing concept!  Really cool!!  Full of angst and super powers.  The “minor characters” take the lead in this AU and I love that.  Kasamatsu, Kagami, Takao, and Himuro are a really big part.  Every couple is great and interesting.  Check it out!

I Will Follow You Into the Dark by shions_heart @shions-heart (for  knightswatch) Rated:  M (Major Character Death) Fandom:  Haikyuu!! Pairing(s):  KuroKen, IwaOi, BokuAka, TsukiYama, KageHina, DaiSuga, YakuLev, AsaNoya, KyouHaba Status:  WIP Summary:  With terrifying creatures mysteriously appearing in downtown Sendai, consuming every living thing in their sights, the country’s leading scientists hatch a plan to create super soldiers to fight and destroy these monsters.  Kuroo Tetsurou is one of those soldiers. A word from Jubesy:  This fic is just so good I can’t.  Even with the major character death (which I never, ever read, mind you) it’s so captivating and interesting and well-written that I can cry and keep going.  The concept is really great (think Pacific Rim meets Attack on Titan)  The characters are fabulous, the angst is choice, and the world is so interesting!  I can’t wait to see how it ends (but I also don’t want it to end)

A Warrior's Heart by donguris @donguris Rated:  T Fandom:  Free! Pairing(s):  SouRin, MakoHaru, SeiGou Status:  WIP Summary:   The story of a lost boy and the heir of an empire. And lots of dragons. A word from Jubesy:  I love this AU!  Dragons, magic, mystery, and more!  All of the characters play a part in this amazing fantasy fic.  It’s so, so good.  It even includes SeiGou, which I love!  SouRin is the main focus, but the MakoHaru parts are beautiful, as well.  An excellent read!

I’m sure I missed some amazing fics that I’ve read, but I didn’t want to bombard everyone with a giant list of every story I’ve ever enjoyed.

I dont really read OBA dynamics but I did stumble across some awesome akafuri ff. 

Done a rec list here, it was a long time ago so some might have been completed. I havent been reading akafuri for a while since i kinda lost interest so there might be many great new ones that i dont know of :(

Beloved Jewel

Title: Beloved Jewel [here on AO3]  Author: @lunenari Rating: M  Word Count: 150,000 Approx.  [17/18 chapters posted] Summary: As the crown prince, Seijuro had access to many rare jewels, yet there was always one he cherished more than the rest. But through a cruel twist of fate, it managed to slip through his outstretched fingers. Now, years later, on the cusp of being crowned emperor, his search resumes for it, not expecting to find the treasure under the guard of another.

This fic, my god, this fic. I, with absolutely no shame, can admit that I swoon every time Zemira posts something. She has a brilliant way with words, creating worlds and settings which I cannot even imagine, the attention to detail is so mind blowing that it never fails to leave me winded from it all. And this fic, has been always, her personal favourite and it shows.  

I desperately wanted her to finish Jewel so I could read and have a whole day worth of wonderful reading material and oh my god what a treat I had in store for me! Though it is still, not technically, completed, I was vehemently reassured they were together by the end of the penultimate chapter and, ahhhh yes, this was so much worth the wait!

Kuroko is literally the star that I never expected to be a star, and isn’t that not surprising at all? He is the Shadow and he is one of those characters I ended up rooting for (again, what difference it is from actual KNB ha ha). He is the Saviour both Akashi and Furihata never knew they needed but yes, fuck yes, they would be so grateful they had. 

Furihata is the epitome of the precious smol baby that I want to protect and cuddle and read bed time stories to. His adorableness and uncertainties and insecurities show wonderfully, yet again the witchcraft of Zemira shows, as she makes us putty in his hands and cry for him with every scene, with every dialogue, with every sigh. His struggles are really heartbreaking to read and so devastating and I have never been more inclined to write a 100k worth of fanfiction just to make him happy like he deserves to be, like right after reading this work. 

Akashi Seijuro is the star of the whole show. I mean, can you imagine him as anything else? He is, literally, the white knight in the shining armor, the Sultan that rules over everything he sees and who has given his heart so blatantly, so wholeheartedly, so early to Kouki that his love is making me want to fall in love. You can see how powerful he is when he is in Court and how adoringly weak he becomes in the presence of his, truly well named, Beloved Jewel. The love he holds for Kouki leaves me aching. Its so heart-wrenching, its so pure, its a type of devotion that is unparalleled. 

I could go on, and on and on, for this fic is a splendid work on words, worlds, and on love that just leaves you with wanting more and more and so much more. Zemira, really delivers in this work and though I love almost (almost) everything she writes, this has been the journey that has brought me to tears, made me smile like an utterly besotted fool and has managed to steal my breath away, repeatedly <3
