AO3 Ask Game
Thanks to @addledmongoose for the tag and @cheeseplants for the game!
What fandoms do you write in?
Good Omens. Although I have some Good Omens crossovers with other fandoms. One of my works was a multiverse one-shot with characters from GO, Doctor Who, OFMD, Buffy and Batman.
How many words have you published in 2024?
According to AO3 (which I just learned does statistics by year? lol) I published 435,127 words.
What is your greatest achievement this year?
Well...
I could either talk about fics or podfics here. But if I'm going with fic I'll talk about how far I've come with The Season of Nightingales, my main longfic, which has only two chapters to go.
But I've made some major strides with voice acting and making podfics for some of the wonderful folks in the Good Omens fandom, and I think that's more of an "achievement" than simply something I'm proud of, like progressing my longfic :) I'm especially proud of finishing both my Factory Settings Podfic and Someone is Calling Him Shorewards earlier this year.
What are your top three fics you’ve written this year?
The Season of Nightingales (Good Omens Post S2 Plot-with-Fluff Fix-it, currently at 168k with two weekly chapter updates to wrap it up)
Reversed Veil of Worlds - A Little History (Good Omens Angst, 2/5 chapters published based on @daneecastle's Reversed Veil of Worlds comic series, which if you haven't read you should totally go check out! [Starts HERE!])
Unhallowed Providence (Reverse Omens Gothic AU based on @theonevoice's GORGEOUS demon Aziraphale and angel Crowley art—I've published one chapter and have the story pretty well plotted for the rest, just need to finish Season of Nightingales first!)
What was your biggest pit of despair moment?
There was no one moment... not related to writing or Podficcing. Just the slow and steady realization that I was booking myself for too much stuff and in no way have time to keep up with it all lol.
What have you learned?
....I have a really bad case of FOMO.
What fic did you want to do but never made it off the ground?
I have a little side fic started about Crowley saving the runaway unicorn, and a Coney Island (excuse the period typical term "freakshow") human AU that I have a plot for and no time to write, especially not now that I've signed up for two wonderful artist collabs that are going to be my priority once I finish Nightingales.
Did you beta any fics? Any favs you want to shout out?
Yes! I've beta'd for @dbacklot99, @wingsofopal, and more short one-off projects for various GOAD Writers Guild writers than I could remember at gunpoint lol.
What three fics have you read this year that you love?
If I have to pick three, I'll name the longfics, because there's no possible way I could choose between them and all the incredible one shots and short series that I've read this year. I would recommend anything that I've podficced (which is the vast majority of my AO3 Profile right now) but I'll shout out these three longies in particular:
Someone is Calling Him Shorewards by @harlotofupdog (podfic)
2. A Little Life by @gaiaseyes451 (beware the angst tags... but damn it's good)
3. Friday I'm in Love by NooRose93 (podfic - wip)
What ideas are percolating for next year?
Fics in my queue:
I gotta finish Unhallowed Providence and A Little History first. Someday maybe I'll get to the Coney Island AU...
Podfics in my queue:
Stuck on You by @zin-lynn-c
Mon Horrible Chéri by @mrghostrat
And the Podfic for The Season of Nightingales
there might be a chance of me looking into doing Or Be Nice and maybe a couple of others that I was recced and haven't read yet, but I haven't actually asked the author(s) so don't quote me on that lol.
Who do you want to thank?
@paperclipninja for the absolute knockout musical compositions she has created for some of my podfics!
My beta readers: @addledmongoose, @dbacklot99, @wingsofopal @demonsandpieohmy and NooRose93 (aka blackjeans93)!
My beta listeners: @theonewiththeshippinggoogles and @firstvisittoearth @wingsofopal and others from the various chats who have added their comments after listening!
@daneecastle and the @theonevoice for inspiring me with their comic and/or art and for being wonderful friends to collaborate with!
@elenthyaolyenths for making me pretty logos!
@outrageousring5655 for making prolific podfics so I can absorb more fanfiction than I ever could on my own!
All of my amazing friends from the @goodomensafterdark Writers Guild and @whickberstreetwriters
All of the people who have taken the time to leave lovely, encouraging comments on my fics and podfics. I keep the best comments in my inbox even after replying, because some of the things you've said have warmed my heart, inspired me, or are just generally something to treasure.
A fond, no pressure tag to @gaiaseyes451, @wingsofopal @lemon-tart-221, @adverbian @paperclipninja and @dbacklot99 if you would like to play :)

WIP Wednesday!
Tumblr media
Greetings, my lovelies! If you haven't already read chapter 2 of At the end of a bar (or if the entire fic is still new to you) you may want to stop in and check those out before reading this snippet, but I'm not stopping you from reading it even if you haven't read the original fic!
What I'm sharing today is the start of not chapter 3 (which is complete, by the way), but chapter 4, aka either the last or next to last chapter, and so far the only glimpse into Henry's point of view.
Many many heartfelt thank yous, hugs, and virtual kisses to all who tagged me today: @suseagull04, @kiwiana-writes, @littlemisskittentoes, @magicandarchery, @nocoastposts, @songliili, @agame-writes, @getmehighonmagic, @theprinceandagcd, @wordsofhoneydew, @bigassbowlingballhead, @itsmaybitheway, @priincebutt, @sparklepocalypse, and @zwiazdziarka. I love you all dearly!
Without further ado, your longer-than-normal snippet because I'm excited my muse seems to be back and ready to fucking work:
Dark curls and dark eyes flood his mind, their warmth filling him and melting away the perpetual ice living beneath his skin. He curls his toes, eyes still closed, and tries to sink further into the dream - no, the memory - of another person sinking as deep into him as anyone could go, perhaps even further than anyone has ever dared to venture before. The memory of conversation and of connection, far beyond the all-too-familiar physical, although certainly not without the prickling of desire in his fingers and on his tongue, beneath his waist, and even in the space inside him, all begging to be touched. He settles, somewhere between dreaming and awake, feeling the blessed ache in his body without a hint of pain. Until. Until a breath of cold air presses into his back, whispering up his spine until it’s at his ear, huffing a horrifying laugh about hope and despair and where he belongs between the two. Already knowing what’s coming before he’s even allowed his eyes to open to see it for himself, to commit it to memory in the form of a viewable scene that will play out in an incessant and agonizing loop in his head, he rolls, and he finds no resistance. No warm body to press against his own. Only cold sheets, and a slowly reforming dent in the mattress to serve as the only reminder that he was there at all. Henry rolls into that dent made by Alex’s body, granting himself permission to remember the night one final time before rising to start another day, as alone now as he’d started every day before.
Tagging for the lovelies whose content I haven't yet seen behind the cut, as well as an open tag for anyone and everything who wants to share and wants me to see! I'll be reading and reblogging in just a bit with all of my feral and unhinged tags for the day!

2024 Fic Writer End of Year Roundup
Answer and then tag three or more creators to keep the game going!
Thanks to everyone who tagged me! I've been a bit out of touch with the fandom this year, but I always love this community we've made ourselves. If you see this or are mentioned below, consider yourself tagged!
1. How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?
Almost 22k
2. How many fics did you complete this year?
Just 1 (but it was a banger!)
3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start this year?
I've started 3 new fics, adding to my ever growing list of WIPs
4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?
Whiskey Over Wine (aka the country Feysand AU I didn't know I needed). It's completely self-indulgent but also incredibly descriptive and well-written?? I'm currently drafting the Nessian instalment, and it's reminding me how much I love the setting.
5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?
Probably Until Sunrise, which was my gift exchange fic for @witchlingsandwyverns. I am normally a modern AU girlie, but I really thought the perfect gift would stray from that and incorporate the kind of emotions/dynamics that work better in a different setting. I'm so so happy with how it's turning out so far - I think it's a great combination of my typical banter with an added level of yearning!
6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?
is this what home feels like? which is the recent Feysand nanny/single dad AU I started. I've had this idea at the back of my mind for forever, and it really surprised me when all the bubbling thoughts finally clicked into place.
7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)
Maybe is this what home feels like? ... I was too anxious to make a Tumblr post about it, so it was a bit under the radar in terms of me talking about it
8. Who is an artist that inspired you?
So, so many! @witchlingsandwyverns and @velidewrites come to mind, but I have a million pieces of fanart that live in my head rent-free. I don't know if they have Tumblr but @/flavie5dub on IG has me in the best kind of chokehold.
9. Who is an author that inspired you?
Can I just tag everyone for this??
@howlingcaptaincommando (@talons-and-teeth) directly helped contributed to the brain rot that is masked!Az in from the ghost of your lips (to the haunting of mine). I genuinely heard @tunaababee shrieking about Cowboy!Rhys as I wrote Whiskey Over Wine, so that was incredibly motivating.
And these people inspired me in so so many ways: @yourstarsmyscars @thesistersarcheron @foundress0fnothing @damedechance @wilde-knight @separatist-apologist @the-lonelybarricade @reverie-tales @bearbluebooks @witch-and-her-witcher @thelovelymadone @foreverinelysian (and genuinely everyone in UBC)
10. Who is a new author you discovered?
I'm pretty sure this is the first year I read a fic by @bibliophiliaxvignette , and I was lucky enough to have her as my secret Santa for the gift exchange! Our vibes match so well, so her writing has been an amazing discovery.
And @the-new-ribbon! Their gwynriel makes me such a giggling mess, and I love it!
11. Did you do any collaborations? How did it start?
None this year!
12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?
My proudest accomplishment is that I actually found joy in writing! 2024 was an incredibly challenging year for me and, for most of it, writing felt impossible, but I'm glad there were times that it provided a much needed escape.
13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?
It's an ongoing lesson, but I've been realizing more about how to make writing more sustainable for me. Like in many aspects of my life, I push myself too hard and that often leads to burnout. That's definitely something I'm working on.
14. Any advice you’d like to share with new or aspiring writers?
Above all else, have fun! Write the kind of fics you want to write, and try not to get lost in the struggles of writing "better" or producing more content.
15. What are your creative goals for 2025?
To not put too much pressure on myself!
I'd also really like to reprioritize all my old WIPs and give myself permission to abandon some (even if I feel myself attached to them). Beyond that, I've been dying to do a full re-write for the STEMinist fics (but that may be something for 2026)

Updated Pinned Post
ABOUT ME: I go by Dragons or Raay. I've been in the fandom since July 2018 (yes, that is two months before the show actually premiered). I love foils, parallels, and looking far too deeply into everything. I'm also publishing a YA SFF book! I use they/them pronouns and love aspec rayllum with my whole heart. other popular headcanons are autistic!ezran and trans!janai. i'm not an anti & tag everything meticulously to both find things and make them easy to blacklist. I look like this, always:
Tumblr media
STUFF I MAKE: meta directory / analysis tag / my fic / my playlists / my edits / thanks for asking / predictions
salt tags (for blacklisting & minimally used): dragons gets salty / fandom nonsense
trigger warnings (tagged on request, always in reference to fictional characters): tw pregnancy / tw body horror / tw blood / tw suicidal ideation
blog housekeeping: tags masterpost / dragons rambles / foil tags / in regards to (discussions of race / racism) / fandom history/ no discourse or harassment / please don't send me negativity about the show and/or cast and crew
Other Places To Find Me (TDP / fandom centric)
Youtube (AMVs): wordswithdragons
AO3 (90+ TDP fics): wordswithdragons
Podcast (50+ episodes)
Twitter (no, I don't know why Aaron Ehasz follows me either): wordswdragons
Bluesky: wordswithdragons
Patreon (lowest tier is $2 USD a month; free patreons are also very welcome)
Greatest Hits (aka the things I've made that I think are the coolest):
1k / 2k / 4k notes
Rayllum AMV to a banger of a song
Personal faves
My "Viren adopts/raises Rayla" AU
Predictions achieved
Callum&Viren foils tag
Cube Hostage Exchange Theory
To Make It Right :: How Rayllum Intersects A Meta (s1-s2)
Egyptian Mythos, the Ankh, and Aaravos’ Fallen Star (S1-S4)
(if time is money then) i’ll spend it all for you: Set four years post-S3, Runaan and Rayla’s parents are de-coined. Now it’s time to adjust to how the world and their daughter has changed, including her relationship with one particular human. 146k, COMPLETE
twice as many stars: or Sir Sparklepuff's existence is an existential horror story, the fic. 8.7k, ONESHOT
Sideblog for a queer fantasy WIP (TDP + ATLA + SOC) that's set to be published in 2026 (bonus "being published through an indie press" experience) is about an unchosen one who wants her powers back, a former child soldier who wants revenge, and a prodigy who wants redemption / subsequent moodboard

Fic Writer Interview
Tagged by @lavellenchanted
tagging @intosnarkness @hsavinien
How many works do you have on ao3?
58. 18 of those posted since summer 2023. Also some of my works are fanvids, although most of my fanvids are just on my youtube.
What’s your total word count?
442,507! Almost half of that is one fic lol
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
How Not to Drown (Hellcheer)
(Don't Let Me Get) What You Want (Hellcheer)
Far Less Alone (Keyleth/Vax)
Butterflies (Jester introspective, Fjorester)
The Only One I Ever Saved (Hellcheer, Companion to How Not to Drown)
Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?
I used to not reply bc I thought it was considered rude on ao3! I don't know where I got this idea but I thought you were 'inflating your numbers' so I didn't do it. Now I DO reply which I think makes everyone much happier and I really enjoy interacting with my readers!
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
So. I'm a happy ending person. I write angst with happy endings. However I do have Missat. Which is based off speculation and clues that maybe having babies is hard for asgardians aka miscarriage fic so it's all about loss and there's no magical healing or anything it's just grief
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
That's gotta be Too Sweet. Hellcheer style Scoops Ahoy ad made me write the CUTEST date fic and torture Chrissy in the process and it's just pure spun sugar.
Do you write crossovers?
not unless we're counting crossing comic/mcu canon but I'm not opposed to it! Also my witch!chrissy fic idea borrows from Critical Role which is my next project that I'm planning to start in january....
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
No! I did once get someone come right onto my tumblr post and go 'i don't think eddie would have [x] but otherwise i liked it a lot' and dear tumblrite you can keep that shit to yourself lol.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes. Too much arguably. There's far too much smut in WYW but i didn't know how to remove it and eh, no one complained.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of! Hopefully never.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of..
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have written in the same universe as a friend but not co written a singular fic. I however have RPed for years so like. basically? I mean there is sooooo much rp on my sif blog lol.
What's your all-time favourite ship?
based on my output it's Hellcheer. No one else has taken over my brain this way. I do however also have to say Thorsif. They are my eternal loves.
What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
jokes on you I don't post WIPs. I do have a DND au in my docs that i really like the idea of but once i got into it i'm not sure if it's working. so probably that. I also worry about ever finishing my season 4 rewrite. that's a matter of picking it and writing it, but I plan to get a new job and ANY new job will mean less writing time.
What are your writing strengths?
dialogue, and I think I'm very good at writing convincing emotional arcs!
What are your writing weaknesses?
Descriptions *hides*
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I think it depends heavily on purpose and canon. If you need your readers to understand the other language than you have to have a way of translation, which can be difficult if you're doing anything longer than a word or two that the fandom might already know by osmosis. I haven't had to deal with multiple languages in fics much, thankfully, so I don't know all the options.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Gundam Wing.
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
I have an unfinished Briarwoods backstory fic that in an ideal world i would finish and post
What's your favourite fic you've written?
This is hard because there's a lot of variation in my fic writing but I think it has to go to How Not to Drown which, while the pacing is a little funky, is pure teen drama in your veins and is a story that means a lot to me.

Whats your advice for other wip ifs on tumblr? Ive got my intro post and everything but it seems like no one is seeing it :(
🥹😭 I'm flattered you think I'm qualified to answer this, especially as I don't consider myself wildly popular or anything! I wouldn't call myself an expert on this, but I'll tell you what I know:
Tumblr's tagging system / Discoverability
Make sure you're searchable! If your blog is too young, or if you have links in your post, or too many pictures, etc. etc. anything can trigger Tumblr's alarm bells. What this means is that your post won't show up in the tags, aka won't be shown when people search it up. Here is a post about actions you can take to prevent it and another one here. Generally you want your blog to be older than 2 weeks, and to be posting a few times on it before it gets any searchability. (This sideblog used to be an old fanfic blog that I've repurposed for the IF for this exact reason!). If you'd like, copy and paste your intro post, and re-post it (if you don't mind losing too many notes on it), or you can just experiment with another post. Tag it with the appropriate tags, and then wait 2-3 minutes before searching Recent posts on the tag (like #interactive fiction). If you don't see it, your posts aren't showing up!
Make sure you're tagging your post. Bigger one of them, I think, is #interactive fiction (since that unifies CS, Twine and visual novels together). You can, however, add things like #twine/#choicescript, #twine fiction, etc... Any tags you personally might use to search posts up. Just make sure people can see your post in the first place with the first bullet above!
Timing. For whatever reason, I get a good amount of traffic around 9PM Pacific time/5-7AM in Europe (UK to Greece)/12-2PM Eastern Asia (Philippines to Sydney, Australia). I have friends from those places, so I memorized the time difference. For reference, this is 4PM UTC time. My guess is that Europeans are waking up a couple of hours around that time, and some Americans and Asians/Australians are active around that time as well. You should experiment with timing with your posts!
Submit your post to Interact-IF. I got more notes when I submitted mine through their blog! They have a page called, "Are you an IF author looking to promote your project?" and they'll put yours through the queue. Here's the link!
Formatting
Make sure your post is eye-catching, and a pleasure to read. I think what catches the eye is
A header and a title. Find a header that conveys your IF's atmosphere/mood/vibes/aesthetic. Then as far as making it a pleasure, make sure the text guides the eye smoothly. This means:
Organizing your post logically. Synopsis->features->characters makes the most sense to me, as these are the top things people look for besides the characters, which you have to contextualize before you introduce them! You can also...
Mix up formatting--synopsis can be a wall of text, then features can be a list format, and then characters can be a list in prose format, etc.
You may also include breaks, like using a header or line with a title to signal a new section, e.g. the start of the Synopsis, the start of Characters, etc.
Just don't make it hard to read for whatever reason! Your goal is to make the process of learning about your IF digestible and smooth.
In fact, I made a point to make this post itself as a teaching lesson! It could have all been a wall of text, in paragraph/prose form, but it isn't. I organized the sections in a logical sequence, titled them and grouped them, and used a generous amount of formatting available to me (but not too much to hurt the eye).
Intro Writing
Just to discuss certain sections you should pay particular attention to, and what you may want to include in them!
Check for errors. Minimize any typos, grammatical errors, etc. It's totally fine if you're a beginner writer! Just make sure it's polished, lest it may disrupt the flow of reading.
Write an interesting synopsis. Your idea could be the best, but you need to put real thought into how you introduce it to other people! For me, I read other people's synopses for inspiration. You generally want to a) describe who your MC is, b) describe the setting, c) "Everything used to be..." d) "... Until the fire nation attacked!" -- meaning, describe how life used to be for the MC, and what threw all that off-balance, hence revealing the conflict of the plot or the disruption in the story. You can make this section show your writing abilities, but I constrained myself to shortening mine as much as possible (digestibility).
Features. Again, look at other intro posts! Outline what can be customized about your MC (appearance, personality, sexuality, etc.), a brief mention of the ROs (without names) that can be romanced if there are any, cool features your IF may have (a codex, a dice rolling system), a sneak peek into what readers may expect to do in the story, and more!
ROs!! You'll want to tap into what personally inclines you to liking an RO right away, and include that. You can make this section as detailed as you want to be or as brief but effective. Some include character appearances, some don't. All of them mention who they are in the story, and a description of what they are like. Maybe you can hint at their deeper, individual character subplot! Hitting upon keywords of certain archetypes as well may make it easier for the reader to go, "Ah, so this is the X character," in the story. Leaning on tropes a little isn't bad, especially to play it up for the audience to know "this is the cold one, this is the flirty one, etc." so long as your characters aren't merely their trope.
Your Story
Did you notice this is the last thing I'm discussing? Before you change your actual story, you want to make sure you've considered every reason why your intro post isn't very public, which may have NOTHING to do with how interesting or appealing your story is. Think of it like chess--the last thing you want to do is move your king. It's also just simply harder and disheartening to change the vision of your story.
In fact, the vast majority of things covered here are only points to consider, rather than things to actually change.
Do you have a demo? People want demos before investing into a story! a) They want to know if they will like your writing at all, b) demos give a good look into what they may expect from the story overall, and c) it's more promising for an IF to have one, as far as actually finishing the story!
And if you do have a demo, is it polished? Is it short? Does it actually introduce the conflict or any of the characters people are interested in? Does it look good?
Who really is your target audience? Your story is probably written for yourself, but you may want to understand what generally appeals to people. You can't please everyone, hence mainly appealing to a certain audience. If your story is high-fantasy, people want you to mention all the fantastical things your MC can do, see or experience in your story! If your IF is a revenge story, make the MC feel dangerous, and capable of exacting their plans. Mention everything people would WANT to know about your brand of story.
What's the gender ratio of your ROs? The fact that your story may be exclusively/vastly heterosexual, or your story may specifically be a wlw or nlw/mlm or nlm story may influence how much reach it has. I hate to say it, but IFs with mainly male characters are in abundance compared to female interests. However, this doesn't mean you should change your ROs, especially if you intend the story to be heterosexual/lesbian/gay--this is just a factor to consider.
Consider other factors. Does your story have any actual romance? (People really like romance.) Is it only going to be short? (People like long stories generally.) Are you using Twine or CS? (Most people like both, some may have a preference. I almost exclusively read Twine.) Will it feature very disturbing content? (If it does, it may appeal only to certain people).
Closing Thoughts
I am flattered you asked for advice, so I took the time to exhaust everything I know! Of course, again, I am no authority or expert on the subject, so do with this as you will. Either way, I'm happy you asked ! 🥹💕 Thanks for asking!
P.S. If you want, my messages are open on my personal blog! You can send me a DM if you want feedback or an opinion :)

Probably a good idea to make something vaguely resembling a pinned post, so here we go.
Hey, I’m Molly, I like yapping about palaeontology and spec evo, and I’ve got a bunch of projects I’m working on across a few different universes (aka my brain can never focus on getting one thing done so it bounces around like a cricket on caffeine)
A not so empty universe: After a world war, a plague, and general societal collapse, humanity has made it to the stars, and realised that they’re not as alone as they had thought
-Funny space thing (name still a WIP): a slice of life thing about a bunch of university students on mars trying to survive their studies and each other
-Chimera: set at around the same time as FST, a new life-bearing world has been discovered. What’s unusual about it is that the life forms appear to originate from other worlds, including earth and the home worlds some of other sophonts
-Pasodau: set in the far future of this universe, a moon of a gas giant has been terraformed to house a species of lizards and 3 species of birds alongside various amphibians, fish, invertebrates and plants
A world without us: set after the extinction of humanity and the onset of a new glacial period, a community of sophont ravens have settled in the rusted hulk of a battleship on the plains of Doggerland. One of them named Graucraa has a great interest in the history of not on his own species, but the disappeared beings that came before them
Feorrlund: in a distant solar system, and old god known as The Architect brings life from Earth to populate a planet it has terraformed to live alongside life from its own home world. This planet is now home to the forgotten life of earth, magic, and far too many sophonts
Appalachi fae: fresh out of university, Dan Baker-Hewig makes the regrettable choice to sign up as a park ranger in a world where magic is very real and the forests are home to monsters, fae, and old gods, whilst also having to survive the other rangers.
Also the setting for a few short story things I’ve written and might post at some point.
So ye, feel free to ask about any of the projects, and hope y’all enjoy.

Writeblr Intro (cuz i forgot about this)
Tumblr media
AYUP everyone my name's Fleur, i'm a 19 years old woman, im cishet and painfully neurodivergent (AuDHD and MADD). Im also brazilian and christian so there's that! (Trilingual beast coming at ya!)
I've been a writer since who knows when, started to write fanfiction in the worst fandom i could've started (...the beatles), went to an amazing fandom -that turned out to not be that amazing but my writing and storytelling evolved exponentially so im grateful- to now being more focused in original works
I'm currently writing a book with my friend (@serenity-of-waffles)*, and i might probably work in scripts for comics, animations and maybe games????? Let's see-
yeah im an artist too hehehe
Genres i enjoy reading/writing: Fantasy, Scifi, Romance, Thriller/Suspense, Horror, Slice of Life, Supernatural
Here comes the lists of things i like to see in a book and that i tend to write it in my own stuff:
FOUND FAMILY!
A good well written romance sometimes doesn't kill ^.^ (im a cliché beast, careful)
Tragic Backstory? Sign me in
NEURODIVERSITY
Supernatural ocurrences and creatures. Analog Horror, Psychological Horror as well
Super heroes? Yes
Mythological metaphores
I write for both Youth and Adult (im a sucker for children's books they can get so dark suddenly and is amazing)
Mystery elements yesyesyes a good suspense
Deep relationships
Consequences. I love consequences.
Historical plots and period inspired fiction
Super powers, creatures, magic, a whole well made worldbuilding (Tolkien wannabe)
SOOOO what am i looking for??
FRIENDS! People to rant about my silly stories and worlds!
More writers to follow and engage and and- ykwim
Current WIPS? hmmmmm
• Eden Fables: The Inkweaver's Diary - (*NOT WRITING ALONE) So this one i won't give much detail, just know that me and my friends we're going absolutely insane over this book and the entire possible series and is our child, you're not fucking ready. The best fantasy book i ever written in my life TRUST ME. Blame Tolkien and C.S Lewis for inspiring us so much- (sorry for the vague synopsis muahahahah) A story of a boy displaced in time and space as he finds his heart and returns to his throne, finding a family along the way while dealing with the craziest adventures.
• Boreal City (future comic :O) - A retrofuturistic cyberpunk super-hero universe about many different points ot view and adventures that are actually connected (like the Marvel Comics universe or DC comics). Its being one of my favorites so far im having so much fun doing it hehe
Its very inspired by many superhero and retro-cyberpunk media, i cant count here how many hehe Synopsis (for at least one of the stories): From a family of superheroes, turned into a villain by his own demise, and disappearing for 5 years, GlitchWave makes his stupendous comeback in an unexpected redemption arc, and it all starts when he meets his brother again.....
• Gritia's Great Mystery - An amazing story about a corrupt kingdom trying to hide all evidence that god exists, aside from other...cruel crimes against certain groups of people. The aesthetic is a mix of enlightnment era, renassaice and victorian age, all together mixed with elements of thriller, romance, mystery and BIG drama. Maybe one of my most serious stories, since i wont hold back in the critics n shit
The Crown Family of Gritia, for centuries, tries to make the existence of the Mighty King, aka god, a tabboo, or even erase him from all existence, alongside his followers. Anything that goes astray the status quo is suscetible of punishment (or worse....)
That makes Spencer's life a bit complicated, even if he doesnt know abt the Mighty King's existence, he's part of a secret society...lets see where this goes right?
OOF DAMMT I SPOKE A LOT HUH SORRY IM A TALKER! Hope to find more writer friends along the way ^.^

WIP Questionnaire ±2
I was tagged by @rjcopeseethemald! I haven't done one of these in a while and really enjoyed the questions here, so I decided I'd give it a go for my wip: Wings of Faith!
Original from @illarian-rambling.
If you want to know more about Wings of Faith, check out my post here!
RULES: 1. Answer as few or as many of the following questions as you’d like! 2. In passing the tag along to others, you can add one question of your own, or replace an existing question.
This art is a bit old but it's the last time I've drawn everyone all together haha
Tumblr media
1. What was the first part of your wip that you created?
Surprisingly enough, Emmie (a main character, but not the protagonist) is the first part of my wip that I created (See the red girl on the top left). She was the protagonist of the very first book I wrote in fifth grade, and I wanted to pay homage to that work by including her. However, she's changed a LOT since then (even her name!), and the only remaining carry-over is the red streak in her hair.
2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
Intro song: "Run to the Devil" by Dragonwyck or "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult. Outro song: "It Will Come Back" or "Francesca" by Hozier Instrumental: "Dragonlord Placidusax" from the Elden Ring Soundtrack or "Danse Macabre" by The Oh Hellos
3. Who are your favorite characters you’ve made? Why?
Andrew, my protagonist, is by far my favorite character. Writing from the POV of an incredibly sensitive, incredibly traumatized person (who feels things very deeply), while outwardly projecting a cruel and defensive facade is... *chef's kiss* Otherwise, I'd have to say Emmie. She is a very layered and multifaceted character with an incredibly important role to play in the story, and her kindness is refreshing amid a mostly hardened cast of characters.
4. What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?
Six of Crows fans
Dante's Inferno fans who don't mind me bending the lore a bit
Fellow ex-Catholics
Fans of Hozier's "Unreal Unearth" album
Supernatural fans into the "corrupted angel x man struggling for redemption" dynamic
5. What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?
Keeping the facts straight. This has been a 10+ year project and sometimes I forget the revisions I've made, and accidentally cut out important details...
6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!
Yes! Rimfaxe is a wraith, aka a shapeshifting shadow monster that takes the form of the things he's killed and eaten. (See the top left of the art above!) Emmie stole him from the government and now he's basically her kid.
7. How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)
They mostly walk (or fly on Rimfaxe)! Because Hell has a ceiling, the authorities restrict car transport to government officials ONLY to keep down emissions.
8. What part of your wip are you working on rn?
A giant, chapter-long fight scene that I've been working on for a literal year. It's TORTURE. Can't explain much else because of spoilers haha.
9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?
The main romance is an mlm enemies-to-friends-to-lovers angel x demon pairing! (Angel x demon pairings where they're both assholes>>>>>) Also I feel like there's been a void in lore-focused media dealing with angels and demons, and I'm hoping Wings of Faith will fill that void!
10. What are your hopes for your wip?
That I get it done after 10+ years... and that people will like it :')
11. (Added by rjcopeseethemald) What pieces of media have been the most inspiring to you for this wip?
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
The Inferno by Dante Alighieri
Hozier's "Unreal Unearth" album
Adding a Question 12: Is there a part of your wip you wish that you could change, but it's too late to go back now?
I don't want to bother anyone by tagging them directly, so I tag anyone who sees this post and wants to do it! Blanks below.
What was the first part of your wip that you created?
If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
Who are your favourite characters you’ve made? Why?
What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?
What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?
Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!
How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)
What part of your wip are you working on rn?
What aspects (tropes, maybe?) of your wip do you think will draw people in?
What are your hopes for your wip?
What pieces of media have been the most inspiring to you for this WIP?

20 questions for fic writers
Big thanks @artsyunderstudy and @prettygoododds @confused-bi-queer @bookish-bogwitch tagging me in this! And to everyone else who's tagged me in a tumblr meme recently. It's been a while since I've done one of these.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
33!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
Around 370k, but of those about 40k aren't mine. So in reality, something like 330k?
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Only Carry On! I don't have the attention span for more of one at a time lol
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. How I wonder what you are aka baby fic
2. Mess is mine aka secret dating fic
3. Every little helps aka snickers fic
4. You and I will not be shaken aka huddling for warmth fic
5. From across the room aka my FIRST fic
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I don't 😭 which makes me feel guilty and ungrateful, but alas. Every time I've tried to in the past, I'd run out of steam after half a dozen comments or so. Don't get me wrong, I love comments, they fuel me etc etc. Replying just makes me unreasonably anxious
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Technically it's Love of Fate because it doesn't have an ending. It was supposed to be a prologue to something longer that would eventually have a happy ending, and that I simply never wrote lol
That said, the true angstiest ending is probably my All there's left is a ghost of you series - same moment, one from Simon's pov, the other from Baz's. Set between carry on and wayward son, which tells you everything about why it's here :) (Although arguably, those are hopeful endings. Kinda.)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Almost everything I write has a happy-ish ending, but the one indisputable happiest ending is probably How I wonder what you are
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not necessarily hate, but one time I did get someone mocking my fic for a mistake I made. Which, like, I deserved, for straying so far out of my comfort zone lol
Anyway. I have upped my research game since, so. Lesson learned?
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes! The kind I want to read lol
Seriously, though, I tend to write weird stuff I can't find elsewhere. Someone once mentioned there's little mirror sex fic in the fandom, and BAM! I got the itch to write one. I've also tried my hand at web cam sex, body modification, and... [reads smudged handwriting] cemetery sex?
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I haven't yet, but never say never, right? Although I'm much more likely to just write AUs instead. As in, take the world of the original, chuck the characters and just replace them with snowbaz lol
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Probably not? I mean. I hope so lol
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope. I've thought about doing it myself, but there's roughly any engagement with fics in Portuguese on AO3, so it doesn't feel worth the trouble
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Birthday man! Though I might be open to it if a) someone with a compatible style is interested, and b) I find some free time to actually write lol
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Do I even need to say anything? (It's snowbaz)
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Sigh. It's probably Let your colours bleed, because It's been 3 years, so I've just... sort of grown past the story? Which makes me sad, because I still like the concept, I just can't connect to anymore
There are a handful other WIPs still hanging on my ao3, but I still have hope for them.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I like writing plot! And also actions scenes. And banter, maybe a bit too much lol
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
The beginning of a fic. And also the ending. And also the mid-
Seriously though, I find that I tend to be either too verbose or too succinct when I don't know exactly what I'm trying to say. Like, I either charge through it and the thing falls flat, or I drag it on for several paragraphs that amount to barely anything. Hopefully, I can mitigate that with the power of editing and beta readers
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I think it's cool depending on context! Like, is this a situation in which this character would simply switch to another language? Also, why?
I haven't done it yet, though.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Take a guess. (It was actually Harry Potter)
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Dance Like a Flame! My specialest baby. My little darling. My magnum opus.
I'll jump at literally any chance to talk about this fic, so beware.
Phew! Can't believe I actually answered one of these for once... now, I'm pretty sure almost everyone has done this already, but I'm going to tag a few people anyway just so this doesn't get lost in the abyss
@palimpsessed @captain-aralias @cutestkilla @larkral @aristocratic-otter @hushed-chorus @whatevertheweather @ivelovedhimthroughworse @whogaveyoupermission

20 Questions for Writers!
I was tagged by @marvel-ous-m thank you so much my dear ily <3 <3 <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I currently have 32 works...Yowza!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
Hahahaha ok ok ok I'm scared to look but I will. I have 696,369 words on Ao3. That is...so many. And there are way more unpublished!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
So far, I have only written for Stranger Things, other than my one teaser chapter for a Buffy x Stranger Things crossover I really do hope to return to one day.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
songs that voices never share (aka deaf!Steve part 1)
Stranger Therapy (which has recently made a resurgance - and a sort of part 2 is on the way!)
i wanna cut to the feeling
i can't tune you out
Freaky Friday (Steddie's Version) - honestly this one is still my baby
5. Do you respond to comments?
Always always always!! Even if people just write a heart or something, I write back. When I get a notification that someone commented, it literally makes my day and I re-read them often as a pick-me-up.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Honestly I don't write angsty endings!! I much prefer the happy ones. Closest I've got to angsty I guess is I'm counting the days to the rapture, depending on whose ending you focus on lol
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oh GOSH. Almost all of them end on a sugary sweet note, but I'll link flowers and ink because that whole thing is just fluff fluff fluffy fluff
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not really? And I'm super grateful for that because on the few times I've gotten semi rude feedback, it has totally plagued my brain hahaha. I'm thankful that so far nothing too bad. (Please nobody change that!)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I mean, I have, but I don't have anything 18+ on this account very intentionally.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I would, but I haven't really gotten it to stick! One chapter of my Buffy crossover is out, and I have a TLOU crossover idea in my drafts, and there's of course my nearly completed WIP Eddie Munson vs the World, but that's more of an inspired by and less of a crossover. By the way, everyone read that one because it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever written.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I sure hope not! But it's possible, I suppose.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but AHHH that would be very cool.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes!! I co-wrote a Carrie AU with another fandom friend where Eddie was Carrie and Steve/Chrissy care for him and save him after the prom fiasco. It's on my friend's account, because it's got violence and other explicit content, but it really launched me into taking more risks in my writing!
I also started collabing with my bestie @steviesbicrisis on another fic, but then both of us got super busy. Sorry about that!
Me and @withacapitalp also came up with a banger idea for a collab last night so...we shall see!
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Oh gosh, all time???? Oh, man. Steddie makes me feral to write, obviously, but to shake things up I'll add Spuffy and Literati (Rory and Jess from Gilmore Girls) into the mix.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
This is so tough because I have thing this where, if I publish a chapter, I HAVE to finish it. But!! There are many things in my WIP folder I don't think I will ever get to, including my Buffy crossover and the one where Dustin and Erica has a time-traveling daughter.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Just like my friend who tagged me, i think characterization and dialogue are my strong suits. It's what I get positive feedback on the most. I also think I'm funny though! At least, in the fics that are more silly lol.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Probablyyyy ummm descriptions? Yeah, that. I've gotten A LOT better about it, but I usually end up writing a lot of dialogue with minimal action because it's easier for me lol
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Okay, so I've done it, and it's TOUGH. It was for deaf Steve (tagged above, it's my most popular fic). ASL was especially challenging because it can't really be written down, so I had to get creative.
In one fic, any time a character spoke Russian, I just italicized it and made a note at the beginning that mean it wasn't in English canonically. I am not fluent in Russian, so I didn't want to risk relying on Google Translate! Plus, I'd have to write the English part anyway for readers.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I think. Technically. It was...ha ha, nope. I don't even wanna say it.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
This is so hard, they are all my babies and I put so much care into them! I'm gonna give a shoutout to Back to the Future (Hawkins Edition), as I always do. Now that it's been done over a year I can see the flaws in it and what I would have done different, but the amount of planning and thought and research I put in that thing deserves recognition lol. I think my current long project, we can be heroes (aka part 2 of deaf steve!), could take over as the biggest undertaking, though. But so far it's probably about equal lol.
The besties I have tagged above are welcome to do this. I also wanna nominate @tartarusknight and @imfinereallyybut no pressure!

WIP game
Rules: You will be given a word. Share one sentence/excerpt from your wip(s) that start with each letter of that word
@shadow-pixelle tagged me for this, with the word ECHO! Tysm! ^_^
E- A Thing With Feathers (Original work, Sci-Fi)
“Essentially.” Zeke said. “Or you could do none of those and go for a wander on your own, but that’s not usually recommended for someone with a chassis as big as you. People tend to notice a space station wandering through their system.” “Right. I need to have a bit of a think about it.” Cogita said, and on the holo-screen in front of Lissa, a flight plan appeared. “In the meantime, do you think you could go pick up a friend of mine? Please? She- she’s running low on power, and she’s scared.” Zeke’s head tilted slightly, peering over at the holo-screen. “That leads out nearly to the intergalactic void… are you sure someone’s out there?” “Positive.” Cogita said, her voice clipped, “I- we exchanged handshakes right before they shut me down. No one would listen to me!” The frustrated exclamation bled stifled hurt and anger. “I tried to tell them, I tried to ask them to wait, but ‘No Cogita, it’s time to say goodnight.’ ‘You find strange signals all the time and they always turn out to be nothing, Cogita.’ ‘Stop trying to delay the inevitable, Cogita’ augh! Why are humans so… so… so!?” Zeke grimaced, and shrugged. “I couldn’t tell you. I am sorry that that happened to you, though.” “This friend of yours…” Lissa said slowly, studying the flight plan. “What are they doing that far out? That’s past the edges of settled space, even if only barely. Are they a scout?” “Something like that…” Cogita said evasively, and Zeke’s eyes narrowed.
C- Two Rules (Self Indulgent SI Pokemon)
“Ceus…” I said, very slowly, “What time period am I in? And keep in mind that if you don’t say ‘modern era’, the fit I’m going to throw is going to be epic in both scale, and scope, and may possibly even make Giratina’s tantrum look like a minor snit.” “’Tis the modern era.” They assured me, and my eyes narrowed. “Modern for whom?” “Ah…” “Oh goddammit!” So what it boiled down to is this: I was stuck in Hisui. I wasn’t plot relevant, Arceus had assured me; I apparently didn’t have the soul markers that would designate me as a ‘Chosen One’ (aka, a main character), and so I wouldn’t be expected to really do much about any of the stuff going on in Hisui. That would be Dawn/Akari’s job, whenever she showed up. Poor girl. Maybe I’d drop by and see her every once in a while. Maybe give her some stuff that might make her life easier. Or at least more comfortable. See, the thing was, I wasn’t supposed to be here. Not in this time period, not in this body, not in this universe. But Arceus had made just the teensiest, tiniest mistake when they’d been working on making themself a body, and, in the process of imbuing the body with enough Aura to survive a small nuke to the face (or a rampaging Giratina), they’d grabbed my actual, literal, soul, and stuffed it in there too. Which is why they’d panicked when I’d opened my eyes and started talking.
H- Gods in Winter (Original Work, High Fantasy [Rewrite])
How many times had that tusk been broken, to leave it so fragile? He was almost impressed when the half-orc rolled to his feet. He was considerably less impressed when the other man brandished a short knife at him, his hold inexpert and his stance sloppy. “I really do not think this will be as productive as you hope.” Tzedef said mildly, and the half-orc sneered at him.
O- The Spare (Pokemon [Legends Arceus])
“Outsider.”   The voice was smooth and rich. Dark and calm.  Like some of the late-night radio hosts that she’d listened to when she was working on her term papers. She gulped.  “Um…” Mei pointed at herself. “Me?”  “Verily. ” The Mismagius drifted closer, and Mei abruptly realized that the three gems on his front were glowing very faintly. The gems were glowing. Someone was talking, but the only other person around was Mismagius. The Mismagius was talking to her. “Oh gods…” Mei took a step back, her eyes wide. She knew that some Pokemon could speak human. Dawn had told her about the Team Rocket group that had a talking Meowth, and Psychic types were regularly proven to speak human languages, even if it was only telepathically. But a Ghost type? “How…?” “Magic.” The Mismagius sounded unbearably smug about that. “While others of mine fellows might use illusions to speak as you humans do, I have delved deep into the mysteries of the arcane arts and thus mine speech is translated directly.”
I'm opening this up to anyone who wants to try their hand at it! Also, @nerdpoe, @leithlovesyou, if you're in the mood! Your word is FAIRY.

The Fourth SoulBlast Newsletter is here!
What's new?
Our Team Members have recently been working on SoulBast's Intro Sequence (GONER_MAKER replacement) and its path chart, where each individual ending and choice has animations which are still being planned! How many choices/animations are there? Well...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are the references (provided by Terra and Alternimo) showing what's next to come!
The Cosmic Starplaza Update is Here!
We decided to replace DELTARUNE: CHAPTERS REATOMIZED with a WIP Shift AU that has a couple Deltarune characters in original roles. It has some SwapSpin inspiration and some StoryShift inspiration, specifically the roles papyrus and sans are in. What does that mean? You'll have to wait and see!
Yes, the songs ARE back! Maybe!
The SoulBlast composers are cooking once more! This time for something with a much different tone to what is often teased here, but we hope that you still like it!
There isn't a thumbnail made yet, but it may be done alongside some other songs, which have a chance of coming out this month!
What's Terra been up to?
“It’s Terra again! I’m on vacation right now, but we’ve got a decent amount of content done. We’ve had a couple songs finished in the last week, and Alter and I have been planning out the SoulBlast opening sequence. I might not make it the first thing we do dialogue-wise as it’s super ambitious and big, although I had a really cool idea as of how to “realize it”. I don’t know if I’ll go forward with this idea, but who knows. That’s all I have to say for now, peace!”
What's Alternimo been up to, too?
“Hey, I’m back with another newsletter section! I’ve decided to do one every other week (mostly because of my current work pace, and also because Alter doesn’t necessarily entirely equal SoulBlast), but here we are again! As for what I’ve been up to…well, not a whole lot, to be blunt. I’ve been away on vacation after vacation, trip after trip…kinda doing some small work off and on, but nothing too crazy, and likely not until mid-June or so, when I get back from this big trip I’m on now. Not too much has been going on in the SP!Deltaswap (AKA CandlelitSeal (if you’re interested, DM me for more info!)) field, though I’ve been putting together a few last minute ideas and laying everything out for myself to track my progress. Preparing for some dialogue revisions too, alongside the designs for the rest of the main cast. SoulBlast-wise…not much either, though I’ve been helping out a bit with the intro sequence (which may or may not been teased somewhere in this newsletter) and some tiny logo tweaks. With that, though, I’ll quit my yapping, as there’s plenty of other (probably more important) content to be getting to.”
The SoulBast gets an update?
The SoulBlast Team has been working to improve the original logo! Here's what we've done so far, with different versions by Alternimo and SnowyBoi64
Tumblr media
(Minor Logo Rework by Alternimo, although some color things would still be changed)
Tumblr media
(Sprite Version by SnowyBoi64)
Speaking of SoulBlast Reworks...
The Character Guides are back, and are currently in a stage of early construction! Not much more is able to be said unfortunately, but we'll get updates to you whenever possible!
The SoulBlast Team has a New Member!
"Heya! I'm the I Man, and I recently joined the SB/NM team. I do some spritework, background music and maybe a bit of writing, if I'm feeling particularly wild. I've made a few works over the years and I have a few AUs of my own, (including two whole Underswap takes), but I figured I'd join this project because it seemed interesting (I was right). Anyways, I can only hope I live up to the expectations set for me, and I hope to see you in the future."
That's all!
Go check out our stuff below! The next newsletter will be posted in 2 weeks (since it’s biweekly)

20 Questions for Fic Writers Tag Game
@zahri-melitor didn't tag me, but did leave it open to followers.
1. how many works do you have on AO3?
17. There's still a few on ffnet I haven't moved over, but they're ROUGH.
2. what's your total AO3 word count?
27,088. Fifteen hundred words per fic seems about right - I generally like 'em to have 2 scenes.
3. what fandoms do you write for?
X-Men and Batfamily.
4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The Shirt Off Your Back - aka, the one where all the stuff I'm really proud of showed up by accident while I was trying to find a way to end it. I did good, it deserves the kudos.
Ives Adapts - love this weird little fic. It's obvious that it's a Tumblr thing - as much a list as it is a story. Which is what I love about it! And I thought 'the world needs more Ives' and then DID something about it! Good job, me.
Kon Is Loyal - hehe! This one is silly and fun. I don't do silly and fun that much. I'm glad I did.
Terms of Use - this is the far too personal one where I'm working through multiple things at once. The fic on this list I'm the most proud of.
Presents - not quite the same fic as Shirt of Your Back, but they're of a pair. I enjoy how clever Damian thinks he's being. Yes, yes, Damian, you're so smart!
(Also known as 5/6 of my Batfamiliy fic, and all the fic I've written in the last 5 years.)
5. do you respond to comments?
Yeah. I missed one, didn't notice it until 2 years later, and it STILL annoys me. Maybe I'll eventually thank them for their emoji a decade after they sent it, or something. I LIKE talking about my fic!
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
It's called Fighting Fire with Kindling, and it's Not Good. Probably won't move it to AO3, even when ffnet dies. Trying to figure out why romance made me feel the way it did led to some weird fic.
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Is It Really True? - which is a Rumpelstiltskin retelling is pretty straightforwardly happy at the end?
Most of my fic are more HOPEFUL than happy.
8. do you get hate on fics?
No. Well, maybe? I think I remember deleting something, once. It didn't leave a lasting mark. I've gotten hate on COMMENTS before, though.
9. do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No. Back in 2005 I was writing a lot about infidelity and unhealthy relationships, but ... actual sex scenes??? It took me a decade just to build up a tolerance for READING (or skimming) them!
10. do you write crossovers?
No. It's all about the relationships. Crossovers make it harder to focus on the relationships I'm in the fandom for.
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
No. I wouldn't notice.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No. I am NOT popular.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Closest I've gotten is beta-ing. Team projects were the hardest part of school.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Probably Wolverine/Mariko Yashida/Jean Grey but not poly? Like, it WAS Wolverine/Jean Grey, and then she died, and then it was Wolverine/Mariko, but now Jean is back and Wolverine still loves her and they're all trying to co-parent their kid(s) but none of them are poly and it's complicated.
I cared about this one a LOT when I was 20. Almost entirely for the angst, but I'm taking what I can get. I'm way to aroace for most shipping to register.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
This Tim Recovers in Smallville fic. Possibly with some fake dating that stays very very fake? Like, I don't want to write it, but I REALLY want it to exist.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Outsider perspectives. Respecting abnormal thought processes and perspectives. Controlling pacing and indicating voice through sentence structure.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I started my fandom experience in barely-post-90s X-Men. Phonetic accents and illogically inserted random words from foreign languages are charming to me. Reading 80s/90s Wolverine as a Canadian makes me giggle.
It's also usually classist and often xenophobic. Always othering. In any fandom other than X-Men, phonetic accents and inserted foreign words bother me.
Have yet to see a form of other-language dialogue with translation that both flows smoothly and works with screen-readers.
Untranslated foreign-language dialogue works if I'm supposed to feel like an outsider, or like I'm missing something.
I prefer it translated into English, with narration telling me what language it is ... okay, that is a lie. I prefer every language to get their own special quote marks. I think that's REALLY fun. Especially if we can get some telepathy in there as well. I was reading X-fic in the early 2000s, I can't be expected to have good taste!
19. First fandom you wrote for?
As stated, X-Men. Learned a lot, then took a decade long break for my mental health. Now I can write without worsening my depression!
20. Favourite fic you've written?
Either Terms of Use (which is actually good) or Sometimes It's Hard to Think. I wrote the second one when I was a baby fan, and it was fun! I also love my self-insert character. She is SO different from who I am now. Everyone should write self-inserts - it's fascinating to go back and see insight into your past self-image.
If you want to (mostly so you can remind me of fic to reread 😉): @whetstonefires, @galaxystew, @alarajrogers, @incogneat-oh, @angel-gidget, @tabithian
