Exactly. I'd say the project would have more value if those "books" were designed to sit in IKEA shelves in those living-room dioramas the company is well-known for, but alas...

I mean, if I want to buy a fake book, I'll just hit up Amazon for a book-based gag gift for probably a lot cheaper than those AI-generated books are going to sell for.

I will not speak to AI art as a disability accessibility tool but I WILL say that most of the arguments about AI making art 'accessible' aren't about providing assistance to the disabled but rather making it more 'accessible' to break into the art market and make a boatload of money without having to. yknow. learn how to make art or anything about the creative workflow

i'm really sad that kiddo me was like, "woah robots and artificial intelligence sounds so cool! it's just like in science fiction, like star trek!!" and then i grew up and companies and grifters decided, "hey, let's use ai to steal art and ruin artist's careers so we have to pay less money for 'art' that's not even good!" and now those bastards try to scam people for images that literally aren't worth a goddamn penny
