Like I know that Mickey and Minnie aren't the type to show favouritism but I feel like they would have a soft spot for Snow White since she was the very first animated movie.

you groaned out loud as you fell face first into the inviting couch of the dream academy’s shared household. the day had finally caught up to you after a long day of dance practice and rehearsals, the training schedule you had been following for a few months now had not gotten any easier.

you sighed contentedly as you feel yourself sink in the comfiness of the couch, melting in it.

“becoming one with the couch, y/n?” sophia giggles lightly.

sophia, your first and closest friend here, rolled you onto your back so that you were now looking up at her.

“gimme 5 minutes” you murmur out, closing your eyes once more as you feel your muscles relax after a long day.

“no, not 5 minutes. now, y/n.” sophia nagged at you, like a mother would. “apparently someone new is coming in tomorrow, and you have to clean your side of the room.”

you furrow your brows, someone new?

“what do you mean someone new?” you sit up slowly, finally opening your eyes. “didn’t they send naisha home recently?”

sophia shrugs, moving off the couch. “i don’t know either, y/n, but you need to clean your side of the room because i wanna leave a good impression.”

before sophia can leave to go join the other girls for dinner in the kitchen you quickly ask her a question. “wait, soph! do we have any info on her at least?”

sophia grins as she answers, “her name’s lara, and she’s your age”

meeting lara for the first time was definitely an experience.

you hadn’t been able to see her until it was almost the end of the day, whereas everybody had already met her earlier during their rehearsals/practice times. that’s why you almost dropped the iced matcha latte you had gotten from starbucks as you walked into your shared bedroom with sophia when you noticed your roommate and a stranger in your unkempt space.

this stranger was pretty– stunning even. she had long flowing black hair that framed her face effortlessly, complementing her symmetrical features. her eyes were dangerously captivating, making your heart skip a beat when you made eye contact. she had various types of gold jewellery on her, but it was her bindi and nose piercing that stood out to you the most. she oozed confidence, which was definitely intimidating, but you found yourself strangely allured to it.

striking, you thought.

“this is y/n!, she joined us a couple months ago, but she’s super talented! i’d say she’s our most well rounded contestant.” sophia grins brightly at the new girl.

your roommate shoots you a look, snapping you out of your thoughts as you introduce yourself. “uh, sorry, i’m y/n. i’m guessing you’re lara?” your gaze lingering on her just a moment longer than necessary

lara turned to you with a smile that made your heart flutter. god, you had just met this girl and you already found yourself feeling the butterflies in your stomach. “yeah, that’s me. nice to finally meet you, y/n!. i really like your room too, do you play?” she asks, pointing towards your guitar.

you smile awkwardly at lara, realising you really should’ve cleaned your room. “ah, yeah, sorry for the mess by the way.”

sophia clicks her tongue in response, giving you an ‘i-told-you-so’ look’, which you could only chuckle at.

“nah, it’s fine” lara’s smile was warm and genuine, and you felt your cheeks heat up as she extended her hand for a shake. “i’ve heard a lot about you from sophia.”

“only good things, i hope?” you replied, trying to keep your voice steady. as she laughed lightly, the sound wrapped around you like a cozy blanket.

“definitely good things! she says you’re quite the dancer,” lara said.

“just trying to keep up with everyone,” you shrugged, smiling softly at the compliment though. “what about you?”

“i like to sing a little.” a smirk tugs on the corner of her lips.

a little was an understatement as you and the other contestants sat on the side of the dance studio and listened to lara sing. how does someone even sing so effortlessly like that? 

you find yourself speechless as lara grins brightly as she finishes singing, heading off into the direction of daniela, megan, and emily.

“holy shit, sophia” you looked at your best friend, who swatted your shoulder.

“language!” she laughs.

“sorry!” you chuckle, shaking your head in disbelief, “but it’s true, she wasn’t playing around.

you watch as lara chatted animatedly to the three girls, her smile lighting up the entire dance studio in your eyes. a wave of admiration washing over you, and the same damn butterflies you felt from yesterday. unknowingly, a soft grin appears on your face.

sophia follows your gaze, eventually landing on the indian girl as well. “no way-” the filipina covering her laugh with a hand over her mouth.

you turn to your roommate in confusion, “huh?”

“you’re like, the gayest girl i know” sophia continued laughing. 

you roll your eyes at the girl beside you “it’s not like that–”

“yet!’

sophia quickly runs away from you and towards marquise, who was talking to manon, to defend herself from you.

the days turned into 2 weeks, and the initial excitement of meeting lara settled into a comfortable rhythm. you found yourself stealing glances at her during practices, each stolen look igniting that same flutter in your stomach. you’d caught her eye more than once, each time exchanging shy smiles that lingered just a bit too long.

lara had a way of weaving herself into your day, whether it was sharing a laugh over a missed step or playfully challenging you to keep up during practice. it was light and easy, but underneath it all, there was an undeniable tension—a connection that felt electric and yet so fragile.

one evening, you found yourself playing your electric guitar, the other girls leaving the house to go eat out. the house had settled into a comfortable silence, one that came rarely considering you lived in a house with about 10+ other girls. you picked at the fretboard absentmindedly, letting the distorted and amplified sound ring around the room. the soft vibrations of the noise echoed against the walls, blending with the fading light of the sunset outside.

just as you started to get lost in your music, you heard the familiar sound of footsteps approaching. looking up, you were pleasantly surprised to see lara leaning against the doorframe, her arms crossed, an amused smile playing on her lips.

“is this a private concert just for me?” she teases, looking the same way she does, never failing to make your heart beat faster.

“i thought you went out with the rest of them?” you chuckle, stopping your playing.

she giggles back, sitting on your bed beside you. “i did, got tired though so i went home earlier.”

a silence falls between you two as you take in the close proximity between you two. she smells good, you note. like coconuts and sandalwood.

you clear your throat, trying to focus on the moment at hand rather than the way your heart is racing. “uh, so, did you wanna try to play something…?”

lara shakes her head no, giggling lightly, “no, i just wanted to listen to you play. you’re really good y’know?”

lara wasn’t lying, you were good at the guitar. you had been playing on and off since you were 7 years old. 

your cheeks flush at the girl’s compliment, “thanks, i’m just messing around though.”

“messing around or not, you still sound good y/n” her eyes locked on yours with an intensity that made your heart flutter. “you must be really good with your fingers.”

her last sentence catches you completely off guard, a rush of heat flooding your face. “I, uh, yeah– i guess i am?”

lara leans in a little closer, a teasing smile on her lips– enjoying your reaction. “i’d love to see how good you really are, maybe you could teach me sometime?”

you don’t know when you two had gotten so close in terms of proximity, feeling her breathing on you. “s-sure?” 

lara giggles before pulling away, “i’m holding you to that, y/n.” she gets up from your bed as she stretches her arms above her head, the movement highlighting her graceful form. “but, for now, i’ll leave you alone, i’m still feeling a little tired.” 

you watch her as she moves, the way her hair cascades down her back and the playful glint in her eyes that makes your heart race again, eventually she leaves your room, closing the door gently.

Dick Grayson doesn't get jealous. Or so you think. It's just that-he''s Dick Grayson. What would he have to be jealous about? He's got a great smile, a flirty personality, a nice ass, people flock to him with the bat of his eyelashes.

So sitting across your date for the night, you didn't expect to see Dick Grayson just a few feet in front of you at the bar. He didn't exactly make himself discreet either. He's turned right to you, eyeing you up.

You look back to your date.

"Do you think this date is going well?" you ask straight up.

They look at you, a bit flabbergasted at the brutal honesty of your question.

"I mean, I would say it's going to my liking. Wha-how is it going for you?" they ask.

You smile and shrug, "It's going well. It was."

"Was?" they ask.

Dick Grayson grabs his drink and downs it. Its chilling to see. Chilling and also hot. You didn't think he was the type. The knock 'em back because I'm Jealous type. The jealous type.

"Yeah, because I've got a feeling that we won't be seeing each other again." you answer.

"Wait is this some new tactic to let me down? If so you can just tell me. I can take it." they reply.

You shake your head, "Its not a tactic, but there's this guy I'm also seeing. He just walked in."

"Ah, so I lost out." your date says.

You look at them. If you hadn't met Dick Grayson this date would be going exceptionally well. You'd be laughing, having fun, not worrying about some other guy who has your attention.

You originally didn't think about this date as a date.

It wasn't until you woke up last weekend and got a text from an unknown number. One of your friends had sent you your date's number and picture thinking you would be interesting.

Not knowing that you were wrapped up in the sheets with Dick. Who, also happened to the message. And that fueled another round with him that was exciting and passionate. All for him to say that you should go on that date, ya know since the two of you weren't official.

His words.

You weren't necessarily trying to make him regret his words. You were trying to bend yourself to them actually. Because he was right, you aren't official.

But Dick Grayson sitting at the bar a few feet from your date? That wasn't casual.

"But be honest, did I really charm you enough for a date or was there another reason?" you ask them.

They sit back in their chair with a sad smile on their face.

"You caught me. Yeah. This would be my first date after a long relationship." they answer.

"You could always say it was good. Because it was. I'm just not..." you trail off.

"not available." they finish off the sentence for you.

"Yeah." you answer simply.

"That's okay. I can pay for the bill and we can just end it here." they say.

They hail down the waiter and ask for the bill. But somehow, your bill has been paid. Your eyes dart back to Dick at the bar. He raises his glass towards you.

"Wow, I guess this is some sort of lucky / unlucky date." they joke.

You laugh at that. And then your date gets up from their seat, and bids you goodbye. You say the same and sit back in your chair. Waiting for the inevitable.

You reach into your bag for your lipgloss. As you grab it and take it out, you don't pay attention to the sound of the chair in front of you moving. You reapply your lipgloss.

"Fun date?" a voice asks.

You look across from you. Dick.

"yeah. you having a nice night?" you ask him.

Dick grins and takes a swig of his drink. It's almost down to the bottom. You can't tell if he got another one before he left the bar or not.

"Not really no. I pushed the one person that makes me happy into something because I got scared." he admits.

"Scared of what?" you ask.

"Scared of happiness. I realized how happy you made me and I didn't want to ruin it, but I ruined it anyways. I'm so so sorry for doing that to you." he explains.

You nod your head.

"So I'm so irresistibly charming and I make you so happy that you crashed my date, paid the bill, and apologized for the whole thing?" you least lightly.

Dick shakes his head, "I shouldn't get your forgiveness. I mean I deserve to be put on time-out or put in a corner."

"You're a grown man, Dick. I'm not about to do that to you. I just want you to know what you want." you say.

"I want you." he says effortlessly.

You smile, "Good. Because I'm not seeing anyone else."

"I haven't see anyone else since we first kissed." Dick admits.

Narancia confessing to shy reader headcanons

- Narancia is absolutely buzzing with energy the moment he realizes he’s in love with you. You’re the first thing on his mind when he wakes up and the last thing he thinks about before bed. But the thought of confessing? Absolutely Terrifying

- Knowing you’re shy, he tries to plan everything perfectly. He wants it to feel special without overwhelming you, but he has no idea where to start

- He turns to the gang for advice because, let’s face it, Narancia isn’t exactly an expert in romance:

- Mista tells him to play it cool and just go with the flow, but Narancia knows that’s not his style. If he tries to act too laid-back, he’ll end up tripping over his words or forgetting what he wanted to say

- Fugo suggests writing a letter to organize his thoughts. Narancia gives it a shot but quickly gets distracted drawing little hearts and sketches of your face in the margins

- Giorno advises him to be genuine. “Show them how much you care,” which makes Narancia overthink every little thing he wants to say. What if it’s too much? What if he scares you off?

- Bruno reminds him to keep it simple. “If they like you, they’ll appreciate the effort no matter what.” This sticks with Narancia, giving him the final push to just go for it

- After a lot of pacing and second-guessing himself, he decides to take you to a quiet spot near the water, somewhere peaceful where you won’t feel too pressured

- He shows up a little early to make sure everything feels right. He even brought a small gift—a flower he picked on the way or a little trinket he found that reminded him of you. It’s his way of breaking the ice

- The second you arrive, you can tell something’s up. He’s more jittery than usual, running a hand through his hair way too often

- Narancia tries to start casually, but his nerves get the best of him. His words tumble out all at once, a mix of excitement and panic. “So, uh, I’ve been meaning to tell you something. It’s not bad! I mean, I hope it’s not bad. Actually, it’s… it’s good. Really good. At least, I think it’s good—uh, sorry, I’m rambling.”

- He stops, takes a deep breath, and looks at you with wide, earnest eyes. His voice softens, and for once, his usual chaotic energy settles into something tender and sincere

- “What I’m trying to say is… I like you. Like, really like you. More than a friend. You make me feel so happy just by being around, and I—I want to make you happy too. So, uh… would you want to, y’know, be with me? Like, together?”

- He’s blushing so hard it looks like he might combust. His hands are fidgeting, and he keeps glancing away, afraid to see your reaction

- If you’re too shy to respond right away, Narancia immediately backtracks, waving his hands frantically. “Ah, you don’t have to answer now! I didn’t mean to put you on the spot!”

- But when you do manage to tell him you feel the same, his face lights up and his eyes go wide with disbelief before a huge, goofy grin spreads across his face

- “Wait, really?! You mean it? You like me too?!” He’s so overwhelmed with joy that he instinctively pulls you into a hug, but he catches himself halfway and asks, “Is this okay?” before wrapping his arms around you

- Narancia is on cloud nine for the rest of the day. He insists on walking you home, chatting nonstop about all the fun things you’ll do together now that you’re officially a couple

- He’s extra attentive to your needs, especially knowing how shy you are. He never wants to make you feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed, so he’s careful about taking things slow

- Around the gang, he can’t help but brag a little, but it’s always in a way that’s sweet rather than obnoxious. “Yeah, they’re with me now! Can you believe it? They’re amazing!”

- Narancia starts bringing you little gifts all the time—flowers, snacks, or even things he made himself. “I saw this and thought of you!” becomes his favorite line

- He loves holding your hand but is always gentle about it. If you’re too shy for PDA, he’ll respect that, but he still sneaks little touches whenever he can—like brushing his fingers against yours or resting his hand on your lower back

Hello there, anon! I'm fine, thank you. Still focusing on the good things. I refuse to give in to all the negativity around me. Everyone who dares to throw insults or accusations at the girls will instantly get blocked by me. There's zero tolerance for this sort of behaviour in my little corner of fandom. So far, this is how I've managed to stay sane.

Ah yes, the whole thing with this blog is pretty crazy. It's no wonder the author deleted everything again. Everyone, be sure to read my DETAILED ANALYSIS here. While some things were certainly rooted in fact, most of it was just speculation and gossip.

As for your questions (please be aware that I don't enjoy speculations so my answers won't be very elaborate):

[D]o you think they'll invite Kajiura in the end? It would be appropriate to invite her. She has been there for some of Kalafina's most important lives so I would want her to experience their reunion live as well. I don't know if it's possible though with the current hostilities between Space Craft and Yuki Kajiura. I am definitely not one of the people who think Yuki needs to have a key role in the production of the concert. The truth is, Yuki has rarely played a huge role in Kalafina's live productions, especially when their live shows became bigger. That's why it baffles me that so many fans seem to believe that this concert will be a total mockery/failure without Yuki's involvement. What I'm trying to say is that I personally don't need her as producer/director but I'd definitely want to see her in the audience or backstage.

Do you think the girls will sing the songs from the next Madoka movie? No idea. I know many fans are quite invested in this particular topic but I don't really care all that much. For the time-being I just want this reunion/tribute live to happen with as little drama as possible. Whether they decide to resume their activities as a group or they go back to their solo work, is entirely up to them. I would like it if they did a few Kalafina lives every once in a while, at a variety of venues, with different productions and arrangements. I certainly wouldn't mind if they started to release new music but I'm still not sure if it would be a good idea to go down that path without involving Yuki Kajiura. I'm afraid 90% of fans would not accept that. I am probably one of the few people who will be supporting Kalafina no matter what. I am pretty sure I would like new music from them even if it wasn't written by YK because my love for Kalafina as a group goes far beyond my appreciation for Yuki Kajiura's music. I just love the girls themselves, their vocals and their harmony. However, if they end up releasing new music written by someone else, it is unlikely to be used in the Madoka movie. I mean, YK is doing the soundtrack so having Kalafina sing a theme/insert song would be a little awkward if she wasn't in charge of the composition. It's possible of course but it would lead to a further deterioration of the situation. Maybe if they manage to clear up some of that tension, a collaboration is possible but right now, I don't see how it would work out. Also, there's a possibility that a song has already been recorded for the movie. Many fans are speculating that the studio picture from a few weeks ago featuring Kaori, rito, Yuriko and Keiko might have been a recording for a big project (based on the fact that everyone is super secretive about it). Guess we have no choice but to wait and see...

It hurts to see how quiet [they] have been. Yes! It's killing me. I really hope that in the upcoming FJS radio broadcast, Yuki will address the matter so people can finally calm down. By now, Yuki must know how much turmoil she has caused with her statement and her follow-up tweets are proof that she's eager to take the heat off. But there needs to be something more substantial and genuine than a couple of half-assed tweets. The way this radio broadcast has been announced out of the blue with only a day for fans to send in questions gives me hope that this is her way of damage control. Ideally, the girls will start posting again as soon as everything has calmed down again. For the concert to be a success, they need to be able to do some proper promo work. We need as many posts and videos as possible! For now, it's just the FC lotteries with the core fan base applying for tickets. Many of us don't need much convincing but there are certainly a lot of other fans who are currently not planning to attend the concert so they need to be won over somehow. Not that I would necessarily want those pseudo-fans to be there but unfortunately, someone needs to fill that 8k capacity venue...

Alright, cat’s out of the bag (and that cat’s name is Gidel) – we’ve just finished the Stage in Playful Land event! Well, it wasn’t really a surprise for some because we’ve been spamming Ko-fi with sketches related to this event for a while now, but.

Anons! I am so happy you like how they look hehehe. You’ve waited for so long…

We’ve never really doubted it, but still: drawing these two is so ridiculously fun. They are so delightful with their bright colours and fun silhouettes, and they have this vibe of a very old Disney movie (mostly because of the eyebrows, coloured shiny eyelids and the ear shape for Gidel lol). Not to mention the sprites’ animations are so fun, I really-really wanted to draw them.

So yeah, to answer the first Anon… I’ve been drawing Fellow pretty much every day while we were going through the event, so I’m guessing we’ll post more 😭

To be honest, from the very moment their designs dropped we never really questioned if he’d be a top, and I don’t know if this is just his vibes or our preferences lol But we really do love the small-but-mighty type, and imagining him as a tiny top (that absolutely shouldn’t be allowed to do all those things yet) next to a huge deep-voiced used-by-powerful-men bottom is too much fun. We weren’t sure with Fellow at first (imagine having an option not to have these two as a ship, wow scary), but as we started watching the event itself, it all became clear.

Not to mention these two have this vibe of “two of us against the world, surviving despite everything”, and things like that always melt our hearts.

As for the specific scene… do you mean the Bonk scene or the jumping around and hugging + being called a dummy scene? Both were super cute…

We do have some HCs, but I’ll share those later! Sorry for the wait, I really can’t keep up with all the hc lists, but I’ll do it I swear 💪😔

We haven’t watched the rabbit event yet, but you are intriguing me, Anon. So this is why Deuce didn’t take Ace there – so we could have a romance between the bunnies 😭

Also, the sprites’ “physics” in-game is always very funny. I can’t wait to see more of it when we finally get to watch this one lol It’s such a surprisingly funny visual comedy with all those goofy sounds.

Hello, I hope you are having a good day. I was wondering if I could ask your thought and possible speculation for next episode. I've read what you've answered so I hope this is not a redundant ask.

I know and we all know that this is gonna hurt Buck to feel left behind to be replaced even maybe not feel good enough to be Eddie's friend (or more but my shipper heart need to calm down) and most of us realise that this is most likely, hopefully the time where buck is gonna realise that he feels more towards eddie. But my question is more regarding Eddie, what do you think happens in his pov? Like eddie doesn't have the same problems as buck regarding abandonment issues but he knows buck has them. You think he gonna realise them like during their basketball fight or after (that is gonna hurt to watch) or maybe someone will point it out? And if he realises it would he also go on a journey to realise his feelings or at least have him question why buck feel that and him wanting buck to realise that he should never think eddie will leave him?

And last then I'm stopping cause I don't want to be a bother, but what about Christopher? You think he's gonna be mentioned? Maybe Tommy mentioning him or something switch the flip for buck to start a fight (I know it's mostly and accident but I dont know how else to put it) or eddie uses christopher to anchor him (more episode 7x05 I guess then)? But that feels like the first one hurts way too much and the second like eddie would mask his feelings by using Christopher as a sort os middle ground/shield.

I think Eddie’s perspective is super interesting to get into this episode because I genuinely think that he genuinely doesn’t realise that buck could be jealous because in his head he’s reassured Buck so many times and he himself is so self assured in their friendship and their places in eachothers lives that I think it genuinely doesn’t cross his mind at first to even think buck may be jealous. Like you saw him in that sneak peak like he saw buck and started bouncing on his heels like OMG BUCK IS COMING? YOU SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THATS SO GREAT!!!!!🥰😍👏🏽👏🏽

I think like when he sees the jealousy that seems to be apparently directed toward him over tommy(??) and also towards him having other friends that he’ll be a little pissed and hurt and confused inside but nothing like deep or angsty I think he knows buck enough to like understand how deep his insecurities lie and will very easily overcome this little conflict

That's very plausible! Maybe the worst thing about it is that it takes 10 years for all the cancer signs to show up, then another 10-15 years to figure out what's causing it. If the Fentons haven't moved out of Amity Park by then, they'll have to when angry mobs start showing up on their doorstep. Maybe things get bad enough that the GIW gets involved. The federal government comes under fire for allowing private citizens to pollute an entire town, intentionally or not, and Jack and Maddie are faced with the difficult choice of ending up working for the GIW (why let all that good research go to waste?) or going to jail for a long, long time.

And then Vlad steps in, perhaps after 20 years of living in recluse following the events of Phantom Planet. He's barely aged. He offers to help the Fentons out of their jam and redeem himself in the eyes of the world by developing a cure for the ecto-cancer he's been working on* (a derivative of the cure for ecto-acne that he received during the events of Masters of All Time), for which he needs their help.

The cure works, and the Fentons are allowed to continue their research under the supervision of Vlad Masters/Plasmius, who went from most hated man in the world to its beloved hero... and of course Danny is disgusted with this turn of events. (But at the same time he's also kind of glad to see Vlad again. The old fruit loop seems to have calmed down a lot in the past 20 years, and he did help his parents out of a terrible mess, basically restoring the Fenton family name... Maybe it's time to forgive and forget.)

* I like to think that after Vlad got out of the hospital in the early 80s, he stole the ghost portal plans from Jack, perhaps trying to find out exactly what was causing these strange new abilities he had. In the process, he ended up rebuilding the portal and correcting for all the flaws—such as leaking ecto-contaminants. (Maybe that was his role when working with Jack and Maddie: always better at improving upon ideas rather than coming up with new ones.)

I’m sorry for like constantly filling up your inbox with question but I’ve figured out what Roy and Garth’s little misunderstandings were so you don’t have to answer that ask.

I also would like to admit that I think that I’m kind of a Roy.

Bare with me…

I often trash on my friends at any given opportunity. Any opening for a snide remark, any mean comment I could possibly think of in two seconds. If it’s clever and witty then I’ll squeeze it in and for any other person what I’m doing is seen as mean and for a while… they also considered me as rude.

I never really realized that I was actually overstepping someone’s boundaries. This is more geared to one specific person and I felt like really bad about it… because… the whole reason I was being like that in the first place is because I like them and I want to be close to them…

Like I considered them different from everyone else - I felt like I related to them and I felt like they could understand me - like they could understand the worst parts of me and if they over time got conditioned to being around me even when I’m like that then they could be the type of person who I can show all my ugly to as well.

It’s like weird - I don’t know how to describe it. In my head I seriously think that what I’m doing is like extremely and so obviously affectionate and caring. It’s like me insulting them is actually the most hilarious thing in the world because me thinking low of them would be the biggest joke to end all jokes… because I don’t think low of them - I really like them and I thought that was obvious.

I guess it’s easier to show that in a special little game made for them then it is to do it in a normal way because if I do that I’ll be showing my ass because if I was affectionate in a normal way and they didn’t like me then it’d kind of crush me and if I do it this way and they still like me than perhaps it’s mutual.

God, to think when they communicated to me that they didn’t think we were close enough for that then I felt like a damn idiot because I felt closer to them than literally anyone else. :(

It’s very twisted but my POINT is that lowkey Roy probably really likes Garth if my situation at all resembles that.

Ah, classic preschool bs, if he’s mean to you for no reason than it means he likes you but it is very true.

I think that people don’t understand RoyGarth because they refuse to see the implications. It’s not a bad or confusing ship at all. It’s misunderstandings and if they truly hated each other’s guts its not like that will ever effectively take away from the quality of the ship.

What Roy does for Garth is almost inherently affectionate and almost romantic seen through the right lenses.

Bon guess whose birthday is going to be tomorrow and won't even be able to celebrate it :D

Yeah tomorrow is my birthday, and I wouldn't celebrate it because right tomorrow I have to go on a school trip (which in fact I was originally going to have an exposition (I don't know if I write right) tomorrow, but the date of the exposition and the trip changed, so now tomorrow will be the trip and the exposition I think it going to be the next week).

But it's not like I'm upset or anything, in contrary I'm very glad that anyone would celebrate my birthday, because for me, my birthday isn't important, for me celebrating my birthday is such a waste of time and money, and I like to see my birthday just like another boring day and not like my "special" day.

The way you describe what Lestat endures with Magnus is so (suitably) horrific even though it's not graphic. I feel like there might be something very wrong with me for even asking this question--grateful for anon lol--but your fic is already haunting me and I know I'm going to obsess over this if I don't ask, despite my embarrassment. So--can I ask, with the physical assaults, were you imagining that Magnus took enough "care" (if that's even the right word to use in such a grotesque context) that Lestat wasn't badly physically injured/in severe pain from that specifically, or would he have been in significant pain from that during that week, or would Magnus perhaps use his own blood to heal enough damage that he did so that he could do it all over again the next night?

Again, sorry, I feel like a freak for even asking, but I think it's that your fic is so so so vivid that it's making me wonder about very specific things.

And don't be embarrassed! I kind of knew as soon as I decided to write it that I wanted to follow Anne's beats in the novel. It meant I had to expand them and rearrange a few, ultimately, because the show's extended the timeline from two nights to a week, and you have the added component of the fact that the vampires couldn't have sex in the early books (although Anne basically retconned that in later books), and obviously can in the show. So that really guided my decisions in how I wrote it.

(Below a cut just because of the nature of it).

As a result, there were a few things at play for me. First and foremost, I knew I wanted to explore this sense that Lestat's feelings evolve really dramatically over the course of that section of the book, from abject human horror at Magnus' monstrousness, to as he puts it, loving Magnus very deeply and feeling loved by him, despite the fact that Magnus is putting him through something unimaginably awful and Lestat never consents to the turning, even at the very end when it's inevitable.

I kind of thought a lot about the show's approach to the books in that sense too, and how much it leans into the elements of memory and the odyssey of recollection, and when I thought about it that way it made sense to me that Lestat would probably retroactively romanticise his turning as a means of surviving it. Lestat's an artist, he's a performer, y'know, but he's also prone to slipping on rose-coloured glasses in general and focusing on the things he finds - or can make - beautiful to navigate his own immortality. He also never processes anything, ever in the books, just goes into long sleeps, and while I know that annoys some, personally I think it's really (probably the wrong word to use in this context, haha, but) fun on a narrative level. It opens up a lot of room for narrative conflict, particularly between Lestat and Louis (and Armand!) who have all collectively and separateley experienced enormous amounts of trauma.

The other things that really struck me as I re-read that section of the book is a) how drunk Magnus gets him - - because he gets him really drunk before he comes back to him in the tower, and b) the fact that Magnus only seems to get angry at Lestat when Lestat calls out for God (the 'I'll feed you to the wolves of hell' line is actually a direct quote from the book, and it's the last time Lestat calls to God that Magnus really hits him and knocks him to the ground), the rest of the time he mostly just seems to be amused by him.

This is a very roundabout way of answering your question, but I guess in my head Magnus was probably more brutal on some nights than others, and only even attempted to prepare or care for Lestat by getting him drunk, which both would've made him more pliant and would ultimately affect how disoriented he was and what he would remember. The fact of that I think has probably only been compounded over time as Lestat's twisted up his own spotty memories into something he can live with.

Like, Magnus is one of the most traditionally monstrous monsters in the book, not just for what he does to Lestat, or the fact that he demolishes the blond boy population of 1700s France, but he steals the dark gift in the first place. I tried to get this into the fic, but couldn't quite make it work, but Magnus becomes a vampire by chaining one up while they're in a deep sleep and waking them up only to force himself on them. His own turning was another act of violent rape he inflicted, and so I had that in my head too as I was writing it.

Honestly, from an anime watcher, neither was I interested in doing calculations or physics-thinking. It never crossed my mind until recently. Blame Doflamingo. Or thank him. 🤣 I love him. He's my fluffy pink man.

One day a week ago now I woke up and was like thinking about Doflamingo's height or sth and I really wanted to just... JUST KNOW HOW BIG ARE THOSE LIMBS OF HIS, and I thought it might be fun to do some calculations! And it was! AND NOW I FINALLY KNOW THE LENGTH OF HIS ARMS AND HANDS AND FINGERS, HELL YEAH!

@fanaticsnail was really encouraging, and so were everyone, so I gathered my guts and made this sideblog to keep my geeking limited to it.

After I did some calc, I was like "oooh, so that's how big Doflamingo's limbs are" or "oooh, so that's how much kinetic energy Luffy uses" and during the weekend I went into a bit of quantum physics for Law's ROOM and got a bit bored at one point bcs it's subatomic. I will say, the quantum physics theories & principles are fun. I'll expand on them when we cover Shambles & Takt. But calculating quantum formulas... No thank you. I'll be here with my classic physics, have a great day, sir.

I think while watching the anime you and me and everyone, we simply take it all in and enjoy it, and we don't think about things like math (ew, math, yuckie).

You know what we humans do do?

Many people see a mountain and say "whoa, that's big" and it usually ends on that unless we google how tall the mountain is. Scaling things is hard with our eyesight, we either recognise height as "giant, big, medium, small, tiny" bcs it's how we are. We don't need to know because we can recognise it by our eyes. Not the exact numbers, but we feel and understand the size of the mountain. We do have a sense of scale, we just don't put numbers to it at that moment.

Same for One Piece.

We know the characters are FAST, we know they're SUPER STRONG. It's anime, it's supposed to be fun, you're supposed to relax and enjoy it. We don't need to think too hard on it because we recognise deep in our guts these characters would wipe the floor with us within 0.000000001 seconds just as the villains do to the poor One Piece civilians.

Seriously, I feel so bad for the civilians of One Piece. The villains need to pick on someone their own size!

And then they get beaten by someone half their size, ah, irony.

That being said I'm still unsure I'll warm up to it just yet. Since I've recently got into HK, I'd like to test the waters with other ships and see what sticks and what doesn't. That and I'm hesitant to try it cuz I've had... traumatic experiences with popular ships in the past with other fandoms and it left me scarred so...yeah. BUT thanks to your explanation and from others, I can definitely DEFINITELY understand the appeal and unspoken potential it has and I can and WILL respect you Grollow shippers for your passion and dedication to it ^^

Every time you call Grollow popular I have to do a double take. I guess it kind of is the most popular ship involving both characters, but in the scope of what I consider popular, I see so much more of certain other ships (Lacenet in particular, but I also see tons of Palewatcher-- both of which I support ftr, so this is not a complaint-- as well as Quirrel/the Knight) that I never really considered it to BE a popular one. Especially considering how dead our tag is on AO3 (lighting a candle and saying a prayer for the swift return).

If I'm being honest with you, I don't think it's a good idea to write something off just because you are intimidated by the way that fandom handles it, even though past experiences make that easier. I know that instinct -- I come from animanga background, trust me, I KNOW it well -- but at the end of the day, you might be limiting yourself. For a long time, I avoided fandom entirely as a result of that, and sometimes I think I was happiest when I was full gremlin not speaking to anyone churning out fics from the heart. I wouldn't trade my friends for the world but there's a certain inner peace that comes with connecting with fandom the way that YOU want to. It involves liberal use of the block button and blacklisting tags but it does, in the end, make the internet a more enjoyable place to be.

Whether or not you come around to shipping Grollow, though, I hope I've at least shown you that our side of the fandom doesn't bite. You're welcome in my inbox any time.

Hoi, it's the anon with the nurse mum again. sorry if my last answer frustrated you and I didn't explain it well. ;w; I am very autistic so I probably bumblefucked my main message by being too long

So to be much shorter: why don't I pick antisocial options when they're available to me, in a world that has no consequences? I don't think I have a good answer that will satisfy you. Because to be honest, my answer is: my fantasy isn't picking the evil option. It isn't picking the nice one. My empowerment in RPGs is that I can choose at all, no matter what that choice is.

I spend every day of my life masking if I have to be out in society. I wasn't diagnosed with autism until I was an adult and I've got a lot of trauma (don't we all, I'm definitely not special in this regard) and so for me, my only answer to your question really is "because I didn't feel like it right now, and was allowed to make my own choice." I don't have a better answer than that. Which was a bit my goal of my original post that I think I messed up so badly. Not "actually this is why it makes sense people pick hero options, learn you some empathy" and I am genuinely very sorry if it came across like that

I do think though that if you asked me which I found more "cathartic" overall, between hero or villain, I'd probably say villain/dark/antisocial when they're at least written decently enough. I do like helping people in games sometimes, but sometimes that comes from this "I wish I'd gotten this sort of help when I needed it" and if I think too long about that it gets sad lmao. Meanwhile when I pick the darker options, it's a much more selfish "I wish I could have done this". So at least for me, the characters I make that are close to recklessly good are the kind of people I wish had existed for me, so I could be helped. And the characters I make that are unashamedly antisocial or even nasty pieces of shit, those are the characters I wish I could exist as. Which wasn't directly your question, but maybe it's kind of related? It doesn't answer "Why don't you pick X" but it does at least touch on which I guess I prefer if you stuck a gun to my head and told me to choose

Ah yeah see I knew the order of events was gonna make it look like your ask specifically was the one that bothered me, and I promise it wasn't! If anything it was just the one that really made me sit back and go "hold on I think we've gotten off topic and I didn't even notice." I did think it was an interesting read though, as its own thing and as something related to the broader discussion about what appeals to people in their roleplay experience. The reason I didn't have much to say in direct response was truly just that I didn't want to end up putting my foot in my mouth on your nice story about admiring your mom 😬 (and also I really did have to clock back in a few minutes later)

And tbh I actually do find your answer interesting, especially in the context of someone who spends most of their time masking and is looking for relief from that. Because it's the same for me to an extent, but obviously masking for autism and masking for a personality disorder are two very different experiences. If nothing else I feel like just having someone say outright "well I didn't do what you're suggesting because it just didn't seem interesting," (instead of me just inferring that that's the only reasonable explanation) is satisfying because it means I can look at how I feel about playing The Good Guy (utter disinterest) and map that onto other people's feelings about playing The Bad Guy and be like "oh. Well alright sure." And I do also think I understand the sentiment of it being more about the act of choice than necessarily about the specific thing you choose. I think if I looked inward I could safely say that's a big part of the appeal for me too, which is why I like the idea of a game that presents you with both possibilities and then doesn't try to stop you if you go down the Dark Path (even if there are scarce few games that really get it right lol).

All this to say, please do not feel like it was you specifically who derailed anything or soured my mood or anything like that. It was mostly just bad timing 😔 But I appreciate you coming back to check and I also appreciate the additional insight!

I've been looking for a long and really good felix fic for so long (i feel there's a high chance that i already read all of them pls help) and this like exactly what ive been looking for!! It had me hooked the moment i saw the masterlist! Your writing is exceptionally amazing, i really cant put into words just how much and i genuinely enjoy reading this story a, like so mich so that i reread it quite often.

Kinda went off the rail, but the question is, how many chapters do you presume there'll be? It doesn't have to be an exact number, just how much you expect! And my other question is, when do you think a new chapter will come out? Obviously, you don't have to be exact, just what you think! I hope it doesn't sound invasive or something, I'm just really really REALLY excited for what's to come and honestly can't wait so i just wanted to know how long we're approx gonna wait for!! as for your second question...well i dont have much of an answer for you here either (im horrible im so sorry lol) my life seems to go in periods of either being super busy or so bored that i dont know what to do with myself and right now things are starting to slow down a bit again, so i'm hoping to have the next chapter out in the next couple of weeks??? fun fact Luta! in chinese queer culture (or at least taiwan, i don’t know if it extends to the mainland), 0 and 1 are innuendos/slang/references to tops and bottoms! the number 0 refers to bottoms, and the number 1 refers to tops (pretty… self explanatory once you visually look at the numbers😅) so in stay by my side, during the jersey numbers scene, they are also definitely making a veiled reference to that when they gave bu xia the #10 jersey and jiang chi the #11 jersey. i just thought you would find that interesting if you didn’t already know :-)
