anyways. i can talk abt that and i can talk abt how the loop fight doesnt feel anywhere near as much like loop trying to take back what siffrin stole from them or get revenge as it does like crying and screaming and lashing out at anything thats near you because what happened is so unfair and you cant take it out on anyone whose fault it actually is (if it IS anyones fault) so you take it out on the easiest person to pin the blame on instead because you have to get it out somehow or youll break in two. to me

"if we make america worse and more of a dictatorship that will be even harder to unravel and make it the way we want the country to be, maybe then everyone will join our Glorious Revolution!" bb girl you cant even be in the same room with someone who thinks you should vote, how in tf do you think you're gonna unite people to fight in The Revolution with you? it's gonna be you and your 5 friends, i hate to break it to you.
#i dont think you realize how repelling you and your politics are to everyone else#you get all of your validation for how Smart You Are from your friends and ignore any kind of feedback that suggests you should#change or do something differently. thats the only reason you're so convinced average people will go along with you bc you keep getting#affirmation from the people who ALREADY agree with you- but you have NO IDEA how to bridge the gap between people who agree#with you and disagree with you. you're horrible at convincing people of your side of things outside of straight up guilt tripping them#or bullying them like a highschooler. im sorry but the tools you learned to survive with as a kid aren't gonna help you in this situation.#the ONLY THING you can come up with to bridge that gap is a bloody revolution. thats how bad you are at this.#and you're also so bad at this and unimaginative that you dont even realize how THAT might not even be enough.#you cant imagine ANY kind of avenue to getting people to change AT ALL outside of blood and fire. and thats why people call you#an authoritarian.#i'll be honest- i really do think the world would be a better place if we did incremental change under a democratic president who wont#set the world on fire vs the godkingemperor republican WHO WONT EVEN LISTEN TO YOU AT ALL EVER AND MIGHT KILL YOU#FOR PUTTING UP A STINK. idk if you noticed but if that evil fuck gets into office we are severely outnumbered if he gets police#n shit to go after his own citizens. letting trump win is making this battle so much harder than it needs to be.#you are choosing trying to fix the world while its exploding vs trying to fix it before it explodes at all.#what is this like a procrastination thing? you wanna wait till the last minute to try? idfgi. wtf is wrong with you#throwing minority lives away to prove a point. and then you try to tell me you care. gtfoh.#accelerationists should never be taken seriously.

it’s kinda stupid to call rui “sassy” or say he was acting “mean” for simply doing what any person would do realistically after tsukasa humiliated nene in the main story. i swear this fandom has gone over this a thousand times and yet for some reason it’s still so hard for people to accept that tsukasa was being a self centered asshole. that’s not even exaggerating anything that’s just the truth.
btw (if im wrong correct me) but rui has never gotten angry at someone unreasonably he’s actually quite mature and doesn’t just?? explode over things so i dont know why him refusing to work with tsukasa even after nene forgave him is seen as a “mean” thing… let’s not forget he still believed tsukasa hadnt changed at all and only wanted to be in shows for selfish purposes. it’s not bad to admit that tsukasa is egotistical and has acted much more mean in unacceptable ways than rui + has had to own up to this and work hard to grow as a person over time

I think that deep down Mobius couldn’t prune the two kids because he subconsciously knew— he felt like it would be like pruning his own children. He was a father and will always have that instinct, no matter how many times he was brainwashed.

O wise dippy, I must know this; is Cregan a breast or ass man? I know you’ve mentioned that his favorite body part would be his lady’s hands, but! ☝️I ask anyways :3
~<3
hm…. (fingers to my temple) i’m sensing… i’m sensing… ASS MAN
not that he doesn’t appreciate your breasts, but he’s just an ass man through and through. watching you walk in front of him, shamelessly looking no matter whenever or wherever you are, getting handfuls of it as he’s literally groping u 🙄 (you’re leaning into him)

my little outsiders universe is the book and the musical combined so that everyone’s happy. randy and steve still exist but ace, bev and all these other characters also exist. no need for negativity and stuff when you can just combine both medias. be the change you want to see in the world.

no, jarthur are not /r gay.
yes, malevolent is unintentionally queer.

hey guyss
there's been a few things I've seen in fics regarding wutai that I've sort of just wanted to give my two cents on, since I've never really seen anyone mention this before. it's definitely a small minority of fics, but it's something I wanted to sort of talk about anyways
I feel like in certain fanfics, especially ones centering about/in Wutai, are wayyy too chill with how they write their Wutaian characters interacting and responding to Sephiroth and, by extension, Shinra.
I feel like it's important to understand what exactly is happening in the war in Wutai within the context of the story when you're writing about it, y'know? Shinra is canonically trying to colonize Wutai in the story for that sweet sweet mako, and we get glimpses of the conflict in-game. I don't think I should have to say this, but what Shinra is doing is bad!! Attempting to colonize and, when faced with resistance, destroy Wutai is bad!!!! And I feel like while yeah, people understand this, in certain fics they neglect to actually write that dynamic in, and sometimes it gets to a point where it feels really odd.
An example of what I'm kinda talking about is this: Recently I read a fic centered around Sephiroth and Wutai, where Sephiroth was heavily injured there and (for plot reasons) recieved help from Godo, the Emperor, and other Wutaians. When they saw Sephiroth injured, one of the Wutaian soldiers went "but sir!!!!! this is our enemy sephiroth!!! the silver demon!!!!" and Godo's response was just,, "I know.... but I can tell, deep down, that he's a good man.... Now let's go help him." huh??
The sort of,, I guess gripe I have with this sort of interaction is that Godo could've easily been written to have deeper ulterior motives in saving Sephiroth's life. And I feel like a situation like that could've worked really well!!! But why are we writing Godo, the Emperor of the nation Sephiroth is (willingly or not) helping take over to be so.... nonchalant with the man who is helping cause so much suffering in his nation both in his eyes and like,, objectively??
I've seen Godo and other characters be written that way so many times 😭😭😭 And I feel like that last part on its own is also something I wanna mention- It's so oftenly glossed over in these kinds of fics that Angeal, Genesis, and Sephiroth were all (obviously) helping Shinra in the Wutai War!!!!! Of course, none of them were offered any other alternative choices, but in the eyes of the Wutaians, they would reasonably be incredibly upset!! I feel like acknowledging that not only makes more sense writing-wise, but adds so much more dimension and tragedy to their characters.
This isn't to police peoples writing, ultimately I'm just a little bug yelling into the aether- but it feels odd when they're written like that. But idk maybe I'm just sounding like a good ol' blue haired liberal snowflake or whatever 😭😭

My Thoughts on the Nuances Behind 47's Emotional Dependency:
This is going to be a long post, so I'll put it behind a Read More:
I often find myself coming back to the post-Dubai cutscene where Lucas questions 47 about things he had never had the time or care to think about before. Things like his future, his desires, his loyalty to Diana. He has so much trust in her. So much so that, when challenged by the first person he ever trusted, admired, and befriended, he still firmly defends her. Grey's reasoning behind his distrust of Diana is: "I don't like executive decision makers" Well, of course he doesn't. Lucas is extremely emotionally-driven, and understands fully the consequences of blindly relying on authority. Whereas 47 doesn't. 47 has always been dependent. We see this early in his life when he bonds with 6/Lucas. Lucas was always independent and free-thinking, always asking questions and acting as 47's big brother and guardian figure. 47 was always seen as the Most Gifted Boy, never asking questions and never failing to please his superiors. He had expectations to carry, and fulfilling those expectations gave him a sense of purpose in life. It wasn't until he started clinging to 6 that he began deviating from those very expectations, resulting in his -to put it bluntly- chemical lobotomy.
It's been shown over and over again that 47 is, in fact, a fear-driven person. He constantly seeks approval from those he perceives as authorities to himself, those who know exactly who they are, what they're doing, and what they expect of him (Ort-Meyer, Lucas, and Diana later on). His desire for meaning stems directly from fear: fear of imperfection, fear of death, fear of betrayal, fear of uselessness. Every facet of his Self is influenced by fear. So, when confronted with someone who nurses every one of those fears (Diana), he attaches himself to them, because they confirm his own perceptions of safety and purpose.
It's so... Tragic. He is wholeheartedly dependent on Diana. From the surface, it'd be easy to say "47 isn't dependent, he's a competent adult." But then you peel back the layers and you realize, no, he is dependent. He needs to be.
Diana pursued a degree in psychology because, in a revenge-driven obsession, she wanted to understand what made people tick. She wanted to learn how to manipulate, to control, to dominate. When she met this man, this emotionless, confused, empty person, she saw an opportunity for herself. She didn't feel anything for him. No pity, no sympathy, no understanding. Instead, she was almost giddy at the realization. She saw 47 as nothing but a tool to further her own goals and to propel her reputation; to say to Soders "I told you so". 47 was the only agent she was able to successfully control because he was, in her own words, a blank slate. She could puppet him however she wanted and leave no loose strings. And 47 had no idea. All he wanted was a path, a purpose, a goal, and she gave it to him. And it was easy.
After Dubai, Lucas tells 47: "You have to face the possibility that there's no going back" But he can't. 47 immediately responds with defending Diana, going back to that safe, comforting dependency: "She'll make it right. She always does." He doesn't want to face that possibility. He responds the way he does as if to say "Don't make me think about things I don't understand". His response to things that confuse him are just another reaction to things that scare him. Anything he can't predict, understand, analyze, or kill, is terrifying, and he no longer has the means to grapple those complicated feelings. Instead, he attempts to avoid them altogether, to derail the topic with something more logical to him, more predictable, more safe. But the part that breaks my heart the most is the pre-Romania cutscene. The nightmare sequence, right after he's poisoned. The entire cutscene is showing us his inner thoughts, his fears. What makes it so tragic, though, is that all of these fears are speaking in Diana's voice. Even in his own mind, his existence still revolves around her. All of his fears, his self-loathing, rely on her judgement. They aren't even his own thoughts anymore. She is the one holding the scales.
It isn't until we see Lucas appear in these hallucinations that we finally see some sort of reasoning happening in 47's thoughts. We hear his voice, his own cognition, his admission of unknowing. This is the point where he's finally breaking free of his strings, asking himself "What do I do?" to which the ultimate response is a resounding "Embrace yourself, but don't let the past define you."

I’ll never get ppl that get mad when others point out flaws in their favorite characters like bbg that’s my favorite part???? I LOVED and ADORE flawed characters to my very core because of how real they are. If someone comes on here and starts doing a good well written character analysis on why my favorite characters (dally mainly but it goes for anyone in the gang and other things I like) are bad people or maybe even badly written I won’t get mad. In fact I’ll read it, nod along, if they aren’t completely misrepresenting the character I’ll probably even agree but it has never crossed my mind to get upset.
