Fun and nostalgic gifts and treats for Middle Regressors and Dreamers

This is a list of cute little things you can get for yourself or your middle friend! I will generally list them from cheapest to most spendy- but remember, just because something is cheap doesn’t mean it’s a bad gift. Don’t spend beyond your means! And also, you DO NOT need these things to “properly regress!”

Mood Jewelry ($) These were popular when I was a kid. You can get mood rings, necklaces, bracelets, and probably even earrings.

Age appropriate cosmetics ($) Like scented lip creams and gloss, or body glitter.

Glow in the dark stars ($) you can get these in the classic color, or bright colors!

Fidget toys ($) I especially like Tangle! These are good if you have anxiety or are just fidgety.

Small collectable toys ($) Like matchbox cars, littlest pet shop, blind box toys, etc!

Candy ($) Just make sure you don’t get too much, or you might get sick! I especially like sour patch kids, and yan yan.

Stickers ($) I like to get these at Daiso, but you can get them pretty much anywhere! Especially good of you/your friend keeps a journal or writes letters.

Cute plushie keychains ($) To clip onto your bag!

Art supplies ($-$$) If you/your friend likes to draw, you can get some colored pencils, markers, etc! Even a new sketchbook!

Stuff with a First initial on it ($-$$) like pillows, jewelry, little compacts, keychains, etc.

Kids craft kits ($-$$) they have plenty of these at craft stores! Jewelry making kits, paint a sculpture, you name it!

A cute character waterbottle ($-$$) choose depending on your/their favorite character/franchise! I have an usahana water bottle coming in the mail!

A lava/glitter lamp ($$) A cool way to add atmosphere to your/their room, and super relaxing to look at.

A caboodle ($$) To keep your/their accessories, makeup, art supplies, or small toys organized.

Plushies, duh! ($$) If you’re on a budget, you can get these at thrift stores! Just make sure to clean before cuddling.

Action figure or Fashion doll ($$) If you/they are less into plushies, these make equally good companions.

Tamagotchi ($$) or a similar virtual pet! I never had one, but they look fun!

A DVD of a favorite movie ($$) You can get these cheaper secondhand! Just make sure they still work.

A cute journal ($$) I like the ones they sell at Claire’s best. They look like cute animals!

Vintage Clothes ($$-$$$) If your shopping on ebay or depop, make sure you know the measurements. Especially if you’re going for actual tween brands like Limited Too or Mezzo Piano Junior, which run smaller than adult sizes.

An inflatable or beanbag chair ($$-$$$) Just make sure you/they have space for one!

MP3 or CD player ($$$) Especially good gift for a music lover!

Last but not least, a Razor scooter! ($$$) Did you know they make these in adult sizes? I have one named Jazz and I love it dearly.

Things do get better.

Life can be cruel and unforgiving, like a writer killing off the most beloved characters and making everyone suffer through a lot. Yet every bad moment eventually shall pass.

We don't stop reading a book, just because the writer made things seem grim for a bit. We shouldn't stop living just because we're afraid it'll get worse.

Things can go badly, sure, but they can also turn out for the better. You can also survive.

Even giving up for a day, a month, a year, does not mean your life is not worth living.

It doesn't mean you're gonna be stuck here forever. It just means that for now, maybe for a long time now, things have been rough.

And you need a break, and a hug.

And someone to tell you, that you are very much loved, even if Life (as the most bitter and inspired writer) has decided to take it out on you.

I don't want to do just In-Ho for my agere headcanons, so I'm adding him in myself.

The Recruiter pet regression headcanons! :D

Where do I even start with this baby?! To me, when Gi-Hun mentioned how much The Recruiter was a lap dog, I already knew that this man must regress to be a puppy! Specifically, I think he would be a Korean Jindo.

He's a very playful puppy, as seen with his constant ask to play games. He would ask his owner again and again if they can play something together, and would pout at them if they refuse.

He has an oral fixation, no questions asked. He likes to constantly chew and bite on things: his sleeves, anything rubbery, pencils, blankets, you name it! He can't help it though, he's teething. He bought himself a rubber chain to have around his neck when small, and chew on it as well. Other times, when he is in public, he'll just go to a store to buy some gum, and it satiates him enough.

Stuff that usually triggers him is dogs on walks. When he is walking around town, trying to find people to invite them to the games, he will come across someone walking their dogs, or playing with them while they squeal. It always puts a smile on his face, and makes his head feel all soft and fuzzy. And obviously puppies in pet stores.

He really really likes collars. When he first discovered that he likes acting or being a dog, he was repulsed by the idea of wearing a leash. It made him feel almost objectified, and was too much. But then his owner bought him one as a gift, and he has been in love with it ever since. He likes the compression on his neck, and the dangling of the tag to know that he's owned, and cared for.

He likes to think that cereal is his kibble, and eats it in handfuls. He likes the mixed Cheerios packet, and just scoops them out of the box. If he's close with his owner, he likes to be handfed by them. It makes him feel extra tiny, and makes his imaginary tail wag so so much.

As every puppy does, he loves tummy rubs! Aww how his eyes light up when he rolls over onto his back. It makes him giggle and squirm around with how ticklish he is. And bonus points if there is cooing and praising, then he has truly melted to his carer's wishes and commands.

Mouse's Commission Guide for Artists!

I've had a few folks come to me for advice about commissions, so I thought I'd make an informational post! I'm always excited to see more people offer agere commissions. Here's some frequently asked questions:

Do people buy your commissions?

Yes! I typically get a few commissions a month, on average anywhere between 0 and 8. The market ebbs and flows for me - I'll have a few months with no inquiries, then a bunch at once. But for me, being a more established creator in the space, I do regularly get commissioned.

What is your most popular price/option?

Full color is most popular, despite being the highest price. I'm not sure why, I guess people just decide they might as well go for the full package! My prices, for reference:

My most common type of commission is two character full colors. Fairly often its one character, I rarely get more than two characters.

How do you price your work?

This is tough because it's a personal process. The golden rule is: price according to how much work you put in. The reason my commissions have gone up in price is because my art has taken more time and effort. I am a full time student also - so factor in the value of your free time. Basically, if you're dreading doing the commission, you might need to raise your price. The work should feel worth it. If you really have no idea where to start, I recommend $15 USD per hour. Assess your work and decide how long on average it takes you to do each type of piece, and go from there.

What options should I offer?

Up to you! I chose my three options based on what I like to do. I wanted an affordable option, so I offer chibis. One step up would be sketches, then full color. Do not offer things you don't like doing, or that feel redundant- that's why I don't offer busts or colored sketches. But it's up to every individual. I recommend having three tiers, something affordable ($15 or less), "the works" (as much as you feel is appropriate for a complete piece) and something in between.

How should I start taking commissions?

Make a price sheet (like the one in this post) and post it to your most prominent social media. Make sure your messages are open, or make a Google form (I don't do this but it's an option). Reblog it whenever you feel is appropriate! I wait a few days between reblogs, typically. Tag your post!! Any relevant tag. That will help people find it.

What do I do if no one commissions me?

That's up to you. Reblogging and tagging are really my biggest tips, but if those aren't working, you could consider lowering your prices for a period of time. When I need commissions urgently, I do a sale.

How do I get payment?

To get payment you typically have to have access to a payment app. The most popular ones are:

Venmo

Cashapp

At least in the US. If you are under 18 and the app says you must be 18+ to make an account, follow that rule! Your parent or a trusted adult can make an account for you to use, but they are in charge of it at the end of the day. These payment apps don't fool around, you could get banned for lying about your age. Alternative forms of payment:

Amazon wishlist (must be comfortable with people seeing your name and address)

Giftable online purchases (like discord nitro, steam games)

I do not recommend gift cards, those look shady.
