what keeps me from writing the most is the lack of a plot. i have these characters and situations but no plot to fit them into. and i like a good plot. i like it when stories come together. a well-structured story is a thing of beauty. but i've also realized that bad plots are excusable if you have great characters doing interesting things. it might not be for everyone - there's a vocal criticism of plot holes - but there are more out there to engage with the story despite the plot holes because they like the characters and the world so much. there is fiction that's just a character study and that's fine. it doesn't have to be a traditional story with a three-act structure. it's fine if things don't make sense. it's fine to have plot armor, deus ex machina, some twists that require more hand-waving than usual. at the very least, it shouldn't stop you from completing the story, because a 100% of a story with a bad plot is better than an incomplete snippet that only aims for perfection.

It's okay to ask for help or advice. It's okay to say you don't know something. You're not being too much when you ask for it.
The world needs more sincerity and vulnerability.
And those who laugh or mock it were never extended a hand when they needed it most.

if you’re talking to your partner or loved one and everything being communicated is unable to be heard then why not write them a letter. there are no emotions from reading what you need them or hear on paper. respect the amount of time taken from the person to before they able to give you a response because of the number of things being processed and fully understood. based on their response to the letter should give you the answer for continuing their position in your life.

But it’s on you to accept that and react accordingly. Stop holding on if they’re walking away…
sometimes their behavior is your answer

specific parameters:
when exactly your teenage self gets this information is up to you, so long as they're your teenage self at the time.
your teenage self will learn the message and that it comes from you, their future self.
if it's something objectively true/false, they'll know it's true; if it's more subjective, they'll know you believe it's true based on your knowledge of the future; if it's advice, they'll know it's given in good faith based on your future life.
you need to decide NOW. no looking things up beforehand. (no sharing the winning lottery numbers unless you happen to have some memorized!)
you can combine things if they're really just parts of one big statement. so "You're genderfluid and your name is Adrian" is fine, but "move to California and invest in Facebook" isn't.
if your statement fits multiple categories, pick the one you think is the best overall fit.

She lives there now.
(Don't make the mistake of thinking she is stuck. She's exactly where she wanted to be. It's my fault for not letting her climb even higher and retreat into the mountain fully, which is her dream.)

Gaze upon my wild child. She has never met a hill she hasn't wanted to go up.

One of my biggest pieces of advice for those taking injectable hormones is to make sure you're injecting at the right angle
For intramuscular (IM), you inject at a 90° angle.
For subcutaneous (SQ), you inject at a 45° angle.
Here is a graphic depicting what the angle of your injection should look like:

it's okay if you aren't writing right now. it's okay not to be online. it's okay to take breaks. this is a hobby, not a job, and you should spend your time however you want to, not how others may want you to. don't stress yourself over not being around enough; it doesn't matter if you take days, weeks, or even months — it's okay to do things the way it works best for you. and if that means taking longer to reply, then so be it. people are usually far more understanding than we give them credit for.

Desire is a memory.
You're never desperate for anything, desperation is fulfillment in disguise. You know how good it'd feel to have it because you do. You're mistaking having for wanting. You have it in the 4D.
You want your desired life or reality because you've been there. You want to be beautiful because deep down thats what you know you are.
Desire is a memory. You want it because you have it. Trust the 4D.

To everyone who has lush fields ripe with story ideas but is struggling to go out and actually harvest them with your writer’s scythe: that’s alright. There’s a reason.
I see writers despairing or making self-deprecating jokes about how many wips they have, as if the ability to come up with the idea is equal to the ability to finish it out into an end product.
It isn’t.
A lot of our ideas come about, not because we were determined to be productive writers, but because daydreaming is an internal escape from life’s demands.
Writing is a demand, too.
Resting and relaxing are basic needs, unlike the high level, abstract satisfaction of being creatively productive. That’s why you might daydream (which is a mild and normal form of dissociation) ideas that you feel good about, and then struggle to research, write the words, fill plotholes, check grammar, revise— all the critical thinking and executive function things involved in creation. Your basic needs must be satisfied before your higher needs can be met effectively.
So, if you’re daydreaming about your stories extensively to mitigate stress, it’s expecting a lot of your stressed self to return from fantasy land, sit down in the cold hard real world and do the hard work to write masterpieces of literature. Those operations are at opposite ends of the spectrum.
Writing is hard. Making yourself feel guilty is only going to make it harder. You don’t have to atone for entertaining or distracting your mind by making that available to other people. Daydreaming is a valid end in itself.
Don’t feel bad about having ideas but not being able to write them. Scribble some notes if you can, if you want, but above all enjoy the escapism and take care of yourself first. The words will come after.

Going to get into the habit of carrying my journal everywhere w me bc I truly want to soak up every snapshot of this transitional period where I’m just a 22 year old girl finding my footing and the only thing I’m tied to are the decisions I make and the path I carve for myself
