Me during pregnancy: odd how they say the baby sleeps when you move and wiggles mostly when you're still, this kid literally never stops moving. Literally. Even when they fall asleep, they still twitch and wiggle. Wonder if that's normal....
Me with newborn: Huh. She really doesn't stop moving. Even while sleeping. But also she kind of never sleeps, I thought newborns needed, like, 20 hours of sleep. We're doing everything right, why isn't she sleeping? And if she needs that much sleep, why is she fine with not getting it? And she really wants more stimulation and interaction than they said was good and normal for a baby her age. Her favorite place to sleep is a busy mall. Wonder if that's normal....
Me with ambulatory infant: Oh my heck she's going to kill herself would you please stop climbing things how did you even get UP THERE, you don't even have kneecaps yet! She hasn't stopped moving since the day she was born. Is this normal? I wonder if that's normal....
Me with toddler: I mean, being still is really unintuitive when you think about it. So what if she's doing hand-stands and flips on the couch while she asks me about how computers work? That's just how it goes, I guess. She'll probably grow out of it. Pretty sure that's normal....
Me with small child: Yeah, she's pretty wiggly and her brain never stops going and she climbs on everything and she talks all the time and she forgets where her shoes are but remembers the details of a conversation we had once about a very complex topic, but that's just how she is. I mean, look at me, I'm the same way, always have been. I'm pretty sure by now that it's all perfectly norm---
*sees child existing next to her preschool classmates*
Oh?
*sees child existing next to babies half her age*
Oh.
*gets diagnosed with ADHD at age 30*

Eddie posts a Tiktok where the background is his last text conversation with Steve. You can see in the screenshot that Eddie’s initial text was, ‘Do we have a clothes line?’
Steve rightfully texted back, ‘What did you do to my dryer?’
Followed by, ‘Stg, Eddie, I’ll eat your ass’
Followed by, ‘Shut up. Don’t talk to me’
Followed by, ‘I meant beat***’
Followed by, ‘Fix whatever you did.’
Eddie’s just like, gesturing to the whole conversation, “This is funny, but. Wayne, I know you have this app specifically to watch my videos so answer your phone, man. Steve is too pretty to go to prison for homicide so call me back. Thanks, bye, love you.”

from Complex Math elopement chapter. they just got engaged and now they're killing time before the registrar's office opens trying unsuccessfully to make pasta in the middle of the night
--
“You don’t have any champagne, do you?”
“Death has vodka in the kitchen,” Dream says. “She says she buys it for cooking, but the rate at which she makes penne alla vodka does not match the rate at which the vodka is depleted.”
“Look at you, deductive mathematician,” Hob says, grinning. “Well, vodka shots it is. Unless you wanted to use it for its intended purpose and cook something?”
“We have the ingredients,” Dream realizes.
“Good! I’m hungry. Come on.” Hob takes Dream’s hand and drags him out of bed. Dream is helpless to do anything but follow him; he doesn’t care what they do with their time, he just wants to be around Hob.
Half-dressed in mismatched clothes, they wind up in the kitchen. Dream’s efforts at quieting Hob’s mind have evidently been completing unsuccessful, because Hob immediately starts pulling ingredients out of everywhere and laying them out on the counter in an unorganized mess. How Hob even manages to function while cooking, Dream doesn’t know, but somehow the result is always tasty, which Dream can never manage.
“You’re in charge of sauce ‘cuz I know you won’t want to get the pasta dough on your hands,” Hob says, setting a pan on the stove and passing him tomato sauce, onion, garlic, and several other ingredients Dream doesn’t immediately clock as he gathers them in his arms. It’s possible Death had all these ingredients on hand because she intended to cook this exact meal later in the week… Dream will have to make it up to her.
“You intend to make pasta by hand?” Dream asks.
Hob is already laying out flour on the countertop. Dream gets briefly distracted watching his hands. “Why not? We’ve got ten hours.”
Dream supposes neither of them would be able to sleep tonight anyway. And he is getting hungry.
He watches Hob crack an egg into the center of the flour, and decides it was good indeed that Hob handed him the other ingredients instead. Even the enjoyment of being able to look at Hob’s forearms as he kneads the dough can’t override the visual squish of the egg. Dream decidedly looks away.
There is, in fact, a recipe, which Hob’s laid out between them on the counter, so Dream starts trying to follow its instructions in terms of cooking the sauce. He is not so good at cooking. He is used to determining his own rules and procedures, not following instructions. But he dutifully starts trying to dice an onion.
By the time he has the sauce simmering, Hob has the dough partly mixed, which is to say he’s covered in flour and has sticky egg mixture up to the elbow. Dream can’t help but laugh at the sight of him.
“Dream,” Hob whines. “Don’t just stand there and laugh. Help me!”
“It was your idea,” Dream reminds him.
Hob yelps as a dribble of egg escapes the containment of the flour and starts sliding towards the counter edge. “Dream! Marriage is about teamwork!”
Dream pours out some more flour, creating a wall between the egg and the edge of the counter. Hob scoops it all in towards itself and starts kneading again. “How are you going to shape that into penne?” Dream asks.
“I don’t know. Don’t you know I have mainly bad ideas?”
Dream leans against Hob’s back, hooking his chin over his shoulder to watch. “You do not have mainly bad ideas. This, however, might be one.”
“Thanks for the support.”
Dream kisses the side of Hob’s neck, smiling to himself. “I will fetch you a rolling pin.”
Eventually, as Dream works on finishing up the sauce, Hob gets the pasta dough rolled out into a flat rectangle. He studies it critically, hands on hips. “This might have been too much.”
“It will make approximately one hundred and thirty-two penne noodles,” Dream says.
“‘Approximately’ one hundred thirty-two? How do you figure that?”
“A penne noodle is a cylindrical concave hexagon. It's a simple matter of determining the area of the hexagon, then how many hexagons fit within the area of the pasta sheet,” Dream says. “Of course, you have to take into consideration the fact that the edges of the sheet would create partial shapes.”
Hob rubs his forehead. “This is what I get for dating a maths student.” He’s grinning underneath it all, though. “Alright, how many linguine can I make out of it? Because I’m thinking about the effort involved in penne and I’m rapidly losing interest.”
“Approximately eighty-seven linguine.”
“Okay, do you think you can eat forty-three and a half linguine?”
“I don’t know.”
Hob starts cutting the dough anyway. They don’t have a pasta roller, so he’s just winging it with a pizza cutter. Dream is feeling increasingly dubious about how all this will turn out, but Hob seems to be enjoying himself which is entertaining to watch.
“How’s the sauce coming along?” Hob asks.
“Fine.”
Hob sets aside the pasta temporarily to taste a spoonful of sauce.
He immediately chokes. “How much—” he coughs, spluttering, “Dream, how much vodka did you put in that?”
Dream frowns, looking at the recipe. “It says ‘4’.”
“Four what?”
“Cup.”
“Four CUPS? You put FOUR CUPS of vodka in it??”
It hadn’t struck Dream as strange, but then, he doesn’t usually drink vodka—or cook—so what would he know.
Hob takes the recipe, squints. “I think it’s supposed to be a quarter cup but the one is faded… Jesus Christ.” He takes another spoonful of sauce and holds it to Dream’s mouth. “Try.”
Dutifully, Dream tries the sauce. It is… Well. It’s vodka.
His face must twist, for Hob starts laughing. Dream starts laughing, too. It really is awful. It will pair well with the linguine.
“We’ll just have to let it simmer for a while, the alcohol will burn off eventually. Mostly. Don’t add the cream yet. And you know what, give me that.” He takes the bottle of vodka, almost empty now, pours a shot and tosses it back. He shakes himself. “Jesus Christ.”
“You should have known you’d be doing all the cooking from now on,” Dream tells him. “I don’t intend to learn.” He’s simply had to accept the fact that it’s not in his skill set. Particularly as he doesn’t tend to eat much in the first place.
“You intend to let me spoil you.” Hob steps in close, taking Dream’s hips in his hands—fortunately now merely lightly dusted with flour—and bringing him in close. He leans his face against Dream’s, their noses brushing. “And I will.”

Whenever I get hyperfixated on a show or podcast or whatever, I like to commemorate it by making one of these weird bad embroideries and hanging it on what I call my Wall of Hyperfixations.
I'm not good at embroidery, and I don't really care to be. It's just a silly, fun thing I do while I watch my favorite shows, and it makes me happy.
Remember kids, it's okay to be bad at something and do it anyway because it brings you joy.

Loz fandom stop being angsty and give the daydreaming kids on big fun adventures with a cool glowing sword some actual whimsy and joy challenge
#It's like the happy media equals angsty fandom and vice versa but like. Video game series about the dreams and adventures of childhood with#A fandom full of angst and abandonment and depression and smut#It's why I don't really stay in the loz fandom long each time I circle back around#There's so much potential for good things and comfort and snuggly warmth and lightheartedness.#Like yeah messed up things happen in front of and to link but kids are resilient beasts and most importantly they fix it#He's literally wearing the Peter pan hat to invoke that sort of eternal wonder that's the DESIGN of the hat that's why it's so identifiable#Fanart captures it a lot. The gorgeous landscapes and quiet moments and dappled sunlight#But fics???? Oh lu fics are just full of miscommunication and resentment and sour interactions and pain and simmering anger#I prefer to read trusted authors because it's so wearing but the problem is you have to go out and find them lol#It's a very controversial belief of mine that every link enjoyed their adventure even if it was scary or sad and would not be averse to#Another. Oh the circumstances they might hate. But link has never been one to refuse the call#That's the POINT they stepped up when the adults couldn't it's their COURAGE that they'd be fastest to volunteer.#Unrelated but post game botk is adhd central you can do literally whatever you want and whatever pace and you just drift around getting#Distracted and teleporting all over and setting challenges and poking around every nook and cranny#Like botw I had over 300 koroks and 98% map completion. I maxed out hero's path twice over. Totk I've just been wandering around#Speed farming lynels like 17 different goals drifting from one to the other as I wish. Still missing the last 2 sage orbs NO idea where#There's like a million hinoxs now tf#loz#legend of zelda#lu#linked universe#ao3

I'm in my feels about how the way ghosts interact with the world and each other affects Edwin and Charles as sensory seeking and sensory avoidant neurodivergents.
While it's already hard to understand the dynamics of ghostly interactions with their environment at play I'm pretty sure of these things. So we know that Edwin and Charles don't feel items and other alive people the same as they would alive. It's a different touch-based-sensory-less experience(?) at least that's what we know. And we know that they can feel other supernatural beings and each other, differently. I'm in the camp of its basically the same as normal human sensory touch but that could be argued a bit. However we're sticking with that both for the sake of this post and cause I want to.
This analysis got long as shit so readmore it is
Now we see Edwin being very touch avoidant with relatively everyone (besides Niko and Charles) and we see Charles being touch seeking with just about everyone. This makes sense to me under the fact that they as neurodivergent beings both have their more usual "resting state" on the touch-sensory-acceptance scale where Edwin generally rests at the sensory avoidant side and Charles rests at the sensory seeking side.
The implications though of how the fact that you can't really feel things through touch the same way as you would alive really gets to me though. Because you might think that without the sensory part of touch there wouldn't be anything to activate the neurodivergent avoidance right? Well obviously this is not the case for Edwin as we see him from the beginning tolerating touches from Charles and no one else. Then we gain Niko too as someone he appreciates the touch of. And if he can't really Feel the alive people, like Crystal, the same that means that the new ghost touch sensory experience also triggers the touch avoidance. And we see Charles practically touching anyone and (anything) who will let him which means the ghostly touch also triggers touch seeking. So does this mean that under DBDA dynamics neurodivergence finds a way to still be sensitive to sensory experiences under any circumstance? Both in avoiding and seeking it? Does this mean that it's more of a mental thing than the actual 5 senses of it? This is so interesting to me because I've often thought that having the ability to turn off and on sensory capabilities would be LOVELY for my mental health (I have ADHD) I'm not so sure that's true anymore because my brain would just adjust and find ways to avoid and seek THAT new feeling. The feeling of the absence of feeling.
Now the difference between ghost-alive touch/ghost-environmental object touch and ghost-fellow ghost or other supernatural being touch is also interesting to me in sensory seeking terms. Because we also see Edwin enjoying Charles touch specifically and at first we could assume that he only likes touch under ghostly sensory feelings. And us neurodivergent people often have our people that we have more spoons to handle the touch of than others. Which also has very adorablely soft implications of Charles being Edwin's Safe Person including sensorily. But then we see him enjoy Niko's touch too which means that he can also find his sensorily safe person in alive interaction sensories terms. And obviously we see Charles being sensory avoidant too when he's out of spoons for that, like when he bats Edwin's hand away when Edwin attempts to comfort him at the lighthouse. And we see Edwin also sensory seek in, as George put it, craving Charles' touch after their hug in episode 5.
Now I'm fairly certain that they feel things in Hell the same as they would between other supernatural beings and as they did when alive. Which after 70 fucking years of that, I don't even KNOW how I would feel about touch as an already sensory avoidant person if I was in Edwin's shoes. Genuinely an unfathomable part of the experience for me. But clearly Edwin still can handle touch just more specific about it. No different than a regular neurodivergence experience really. Which just gives me so many emotions because Edwin baby boy I knew you were so so strong but 🥺 how did you handle this so well too 🥺. I don't know how you did it. He has so much credit for how he's handled (well everything, but specifically this) so well under these circumstances. Someone pls tell him he deserves more credit than he gives himself.
Anyway my Edwin hell emotions aside, i saw someone mention awhile ago (I would credit them but I don't remember who) that Charles and Edwin wear their gloves so often specifically to avoid having to think about the fact that they don't have the normal human sense of touch anymore which is just so something. Because that in and of itself is its own sensory avoidant behavior. Avoiding the fact that they're not really experiencing a specific flavor of sensory anymore? Could this be true for their many layers of clothing they don to possible keep from feeling that they can't feel the environment the same? Like wind/the snow in ep1, the temperature, and other elements? Sensory avoidance too. A supernaturally charged type of sensory avoidance but still. Sensory avoidance. Plus how we see them lose their layers and gloves when they're in their office bubble alone? Their home? Their comfort space where they have the spoons to relax? And possibly have the spoons to handle the new (well new as a relative term) different type of touch sensory experience that is their ghostly existence? Cause in THESE terms Edwin's sensory seeking in the form of rolling up his sleeves and placing his legs propped up upon the couch arm to experience this new type of environmental feel more fully. And Charles is sensory seeking in the form of Touching Everyone of His Magic Bag Items (and doing classic neurodivergent rearranging and setting up just to take back down play but that's beside the point) and fidgeting by throwing (and consequently touching) the ball in ep1. Which IS in line with how when we're more emotionally comfortable we have the spoons for being more comfortable with other things like more touch and more audio and more visuals as neurodivergents. These are the environmental and worldly items based touch. But we also see them touching EACHOTHER more within their office comfort zone, which means they also feel more sensory seeking in the way we're familiar with in their home bubble. And having the spoons for being more emotionally vulnerable there too but that's not really the point of this post.
In conclusion, how Edwin and Charles still act as touch-sensory seeking and avoidant neurodivergent individuals after this long as ghosts really enamors me. I didn't really go into analyzing the other 4 senses have changed for them but we know they can see and hear the same so those sensory seeking levels wouldn't change, and smell and taste are too things they mentioned they don't have anymore as ghosts but they HAVEN'T touched on how smell and taste senses would work between them and other supernatural entities like. I can't really comment on how the minute differences between ghost on alive and and ghost on ghost feelings would differ without knowing more. Like perhaps this would be touched on more in season 2? Like the taste of eachother hmm? Much to think about. Anyway yeah this was my neurodivergent reading of their touch based sensory seeking, I probably didn't consider some things, so I would love to hear your input on this too!

Random ramble but i will always think about zoro appreciating another person cuz they helped out his captain... he didn't have to do that (but he wanted to..) and i just think i'm fine and most definitely not insane about it.
Like luffy literally died? (But he was saved by gear 5 awakening) and the fact that zoro heard about minor details such as 'someone helped luffy during the fight with kaido'?? He probably knew about luffy's temporary death too, and because of that, i think somewhere deep inside him, what went unsaid was "Thank you for being there for my captain, (helping him) when i was absent"
He loves his captain so muchh okayy??
(Also, someone needs to make a fic about zoro finding out about luffy's death pre gear five awakening, and then zoro being just a tiny bit more protective (than before) towards his captain. Like yes he is already protective, but let's make him even more-)
Not to get sidetracked but uhh, thinking about frobin too...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Something about zoro, robin, and their priority (=it's about their favorite/special person!)
Zoro appreciating someone for helping luffy and robin appreciating someone for helping herself, and then asking them to help out franky.
Dunno how to explain it but when it comes to the dynamics of zolu and frobin, zoro and robin have some pretty noticeable similarities?? and of course luffy and franky... zoro and robin with their level headed, calm, and stoic demeanor?? And then luffy and franky both fall into the 'spontaneous ball of energy' category. They also both like cool things, and cry easily (especially compared to zoro and robin who rarely cry)
Maybe i'll talk more (emphasizing on maybe cuz im so forgetful at times) about their similarities another time, but for now, im like normal about these two ships really
