My friend and I were being taught advanced algebra concepts except in a very dumbed down, simplistic way so it would be easier to understand.
Except, my friend already understood all of it. He would say, "Oh, that's an integral of 0 to pi," and the teacher would say, "Well yes, but the answer I'm looking for is 'red'."
This Math class was interspersed with sessions on the Grimace Shower and Workout Machine, a Grimace-themed workout machine where you would hold yourself horizontal with your arms, play a shitty arcade game with your feet, and a tiny little spout would occasionally pour water onto your chest.

Becoming deeply radicalized against the idea of crewed Mars missions, y'know how the Rovers keep sending back better and better data what if instead of that we made an even bigger one and devoted nearly 90% of its capacity to holding a guy in a bubble on top of it instead of sending back useful data, but wait! They'll eliminate like a half hour of latency and also almost certainly contaminate the landing site and possibly the entire planet, so it's not all downside.

Interestingly enough I think calling large language models a.i. is doing too much to humanize them. Because of how scifi literature has built up a.i. as living beings with actual working thought processes deserving of the classification of person (bicentennial man etc) a lot of people want to view a.i. as entities. And corporations pushing a.i. can take advantage of your soft feelings toward it like that. But LLMs are nowhere close to that, and tbh I don't even feel the way they learn approaches it. Word order guessing machines can logic the way to a regular sounding sentence but thats not anything approaching having a conversation with a person. Remembering what you said is just storing the information you are typing into it, its not any kind of indication of existence. And yet, so many people online are acting like when my grandma was convinced siri was actually a lady living in her phone. I think we need to start calling Large Language Models "LLMs" and not giving the corps pushing them more of an in with the general public. Its marketing spin, stop falling for it.

I fucking hate AI images of IRL people, because it makes my internal thoughts sound like a eugenicist when Im looking at hot people. Like oh that nostril is suspicious, oh does the skin fold like that, or oh does a fat man have his ribs/that group of muscles be unprotected? And it's like man can I just enjoy looking at hawt people with out having to worry about supporting a practice of exploitative labor for a short glimpse of luxury. Because if you didn't know machines that have been learnt do not know what's actually in an image all they know is that the image they just made would give them a high enough score for their image to be accept as among images with a given tag. Someone has to tag each image as what it is and someone has to revise those tags, and guess what they most likely aren't being payed a decent wage and they are assuredly not being credited for their fucking grueling labor.

I have been researching Animatronics and it is oh so very very fascinating. The arduino boards vs something complex enough to use a raspberry pi, the types of servos, how you can build a servo without using an actual servo if the servo would be too big, etc etc etc.
The downside is now I look at fnaf animatronics and figure how they may mechanically work and you know what? The Daycare Attendant, if they were real, would be such a highly advanced machine. Not only is the programming and machine learning and large language models of all the animatronics of FNAF security breach super advanced, just the physical build is so technically advanced. Mostly because of how thin the Daycare Attendant is, but also with how fluid their movement is. One of the most top 10 advanced animatronics in the series. (I want to study them)
