New iPhone 12 release date, price, leaks, and features
As we are heading closer towards the launch of the next-generation iPhone 12 series we are getting more and more leaks and information about the upcoming iPhone 12. The new iPhone 12 leaks suggest a lot of new additions.
Reports are suggesting iPhone 12 will have an original box-like design. Then some reports indicate that the notch of the iPhone will be smaller this year. We can’t confirm anything until the iPhones are launched. But for now, we can depend on our sources from where we get new iPhone 12 leaks.
The iPhone 12 will reportedly add 5G connectivity across the variants while the iPhon12 and iPhone 12 mini are hinted to have base variant as 64 GB and will go up to 256 GB and will be sporting 4 GB of RAM. However, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will have the base variant as 128 GB and will go all the way up to 512 GB coupled with 6 GB of RAM.

The Pro models are also going to have a LiDar sensor for better depth detection; on the other hand, Apple has left its fans in a dilemma about the 120 Hz of the screen. Nobody knows whether it will have it or not, but new iPhone 12 leaks came up recently claiming that only the iPhone 12 Pro Max might have 120 Hz pro-motion display.
Prototyping for iPhone 12 devices is just about finalized! Final details line up pretty well with what Kuo said last year! Expect to see CAD renders of the devices within the next month or two from your favorite leakers! Now let’s see if Apple can get them out by EOY! pic.twitter.com/nAfA7JHMx2
— Jon Prosser (@jon_prosser) April 6, 2020
The iPhone 12 series will have four models this year, and the starting variant of the 12 series would be the smallest iPhone 12 Mini capped at 5.4 inches of screen size, then there will be iPhone 12 at 6.1 inches of Super Retina OLED display. The more premium models iPhone 12 pro and 12 Pro max will be having 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches of XDR OLED screens respectively.
All four models are said to be powered by Apple’s newest powerhouse chipset A14 bionic which is going to be blazing fast. Apart from this, we are expecting some improvements in the camera department as well. There are reports that this year’s iPhones will be capable of recording videos at 4K 120 FPS and they might even get 8K video recording support.
It’s been rumoured that Apple will downsize the notch by a considerable margin in its upcoming phones; Jon Prosser claimed that iPhones would be coming with a smaller notch design back in April.
The build of the phones are going to be in a similar way as what we have seen earlier with iPhone 11 series. The non-Pro models will be having aluminum and glass while the Pro models will be featuring stainless steel with a glass back.
The release date for the iPhones of this years could be October 13 as per the report. While the pre-orders for the iPhone 12 series should begin by October 16 as per the report give by AppleInsider. As per the tipster Jon Prossor, the 12 pro models should arrive in November while the non-pro is scheduled for October only.
iPhone 12 Price
The expected price of iPhone 12 Mini prices could start from $699 with the top-end variant costing $849. The iPhone 12 will be starting at $799 and will cost $949 for the 256 Gb variant. The premium iPhone 12 Pro should start at $1049 for 128 GB and the higher 512 GB can cost $1349. The most premium iPhone 12 Pro Max can start at $1149 and the most expensive iPhone of the 12 series could cost $1449 for the iPhone 12 Pro Max 512 GB variant.

iPhone 12 Colors
As per the color options, Apple would be going with the same scheme as it went with the last year’s iPhones. The non-pro iPhones will have more color options which will be brighter and eye-appealing. While the non-pro iPhones will be adapting the darker contrast colors with very few color options like space grey, silver and gold.
Also Read: Apple’s iPhone 12 could debut on October 13
However, there were new leaks of iPhone 12 that was hinting towards a new navy blue color option which will be replacing the midnight green color of iPhone 11 Pro. Chances of a navy blue color increased when Apple stepped up and launched Apple Watch 6 with a navy blue color. So we can expect a similar color with the iPhone 12 Pro models as well.
Performance of A14 Bionic
Apple’s latest A14 bionic processor is based on 5nm architecture made by TSMC. As per the reports, the apple’s newest chipset is said to have a 15% faster CPU while 30% efficient than A13. The A14 chip will debut with iPad Air 4 which was unveiled just last week. With a new 6-core design packed within that 5-nanometer size, the new chip packs a whopping 11.8 billion transistors.
Second-generation machine learning accelerators will double the speed of machine-learning related tasks compared to the A13, while a 4x faster GPU will deliver console-quality graphics. the Geekbench score of A14 has 4600 for multi-core while 1700 for a single core. These numbers are just crushing the counter-part Snapdragon 865+ badly. However, the real world result can differ, and we will get to know once the phones are launched.
The iPhone 12 models are expected to come without charging brick, or earphones inside the box. While the battery size of this year’s iPhones has been decreased as compared to last year’s iPhone models. At the same time, no reports are suggesting that this year iPhones will have a USB Type-C port.
So expect lightning port for the iPhones of this year as well. As far as wireless charging goes, the back of the iPhone 12 lineup may have magnets embedded. This would make it easier to connect with a new batch of wireless charging mats that have magnets placed in them. Also, all of the iPhone models will be launching with IOS 14 out of the box.
