29/30 - Ace/Aro Exclusion

I only just recently learned that the A in 2SLGBTQIA+ does NOT stand for Ally, but the Asexuality / Aromantic (Ace/Aro) and Agender Spectrum. Not only are these orientations and identities real, valid, and permanent, but there may be Aspec people who don't even know that they are due to lack of information.

I wanna say: CSA and COCSA survivors are all incredible, but I also wanna give a shout out to ppl who were exposed to sexual stuff or had any kind of sexual experience as a kid that they either aren't comfortable labelling as or don't consider abuse, but they know it still fucking sucked and shouldnt have happened. Even if that changes later in life and you identify as a victim/surivor, it can be messy to have to imagine those labels applying to the ppl in ur life and that can take time.

The most important thing is to prioritize your recovery + health, and to support other victims + survivors.

She's so damn cool; I love her so much. She’ll have a big role in future chapters of The Thunder Answered Back, but otherwise I haven’t gotten to do much with her because of my unhealthy coping mechanisms. (Fixation on the pre-prequel era.)

You know, I was gonna write you a nice little essay on the healthful properties of bottom Dooku, but I believe you and I already agree so completely on this. Namely, that the man should be broken in half, split like a piece of dry kindling, and stacked for winter. 

But oh god, tropes, I have them. Oh, this is such a cliche, but I really like the “character A (let’s call him Dooku) stomping in all upset/hot and bothered/emotionally roiled up which turns into him getting roughly but lovingly topped by Character B (let’s say…. Sifo-Dyas? I don’t know why those names just spring to mind, so weird) who just needs to get him out of his head.” I've written so many versions of that classic. And maybe this is because my own sexual education was exclusively through some very dubiously con fanfic, I notice I tend to write a lot of scenes with discussion of protection and safety language. (And also because *speaking directly into the mic* it's super fucking hot.)

…I also seem to be writing a lot of orgasm control these days. Go figure.

with the things i'm seeing on twitter it's making me scared so i'll say it here too because there has to be young people following me:

having sex with someone who has a penis and not using a condom means you could catch diseases but also get pregnant. someone pulling out before they ejaculate isn't making it safe. it's not a way to prevent diseases or pregnancies. timing unprotected sex with menstrual cycles/using your body temp is not a way to avoid pregnancy. you can still get STIs if you used a condom. oral sex isn't safe you can get STIs including HIV. condoms can break or slip off and that can be enough to cause all the things mentionned.

get tested regularly, talk to your doctor you're not the first one or the last one to have sex and talk to them about it there's nothing to be ashamed of

Given how common the intersex condition is (~2% of the population - how many redheads have you seen?) and the fact that genitalia is not the only physical manifestation of an intersex condition, yes the doctor very much did look at you and decide you looked ‘female enough.’ Indeed your genetic makeup is determined at conception, and your genetic makeup could very well result in the development of an intersex body that may not be externally evident at birth.

Don’t get me wrong, there are issues with the afab/amab dichotomy both colloquially and medically speaking (some people are marked intersex at birth, the dichotomy just reinforces the gender binary with different language, etc.) but it is true that medical assumptions are made at birth based on your external physiology, regardless of genetic or hormonal profile. ‘Biological sex’ is far from binary and pretending otherwise is ignorant at best and dangerously intersexist at worst.

i know sex education has always been an unrealistic show but the fact that a radio show is hiring a teenager to give live sex advice to strangers must surely be breaking so many laws??
