for this, any breeding I talk about is ethical breeding and leaving out BYB dogs - that's a topic for a different day

breeding dogs preserves ancient breeds and improves new ones

breeding gives us reliable working dogs, don't expect a shelter dog to do good work

most dogs that come from shelters will be mixed and when your mixing breeds, your mixing temperaments and not everyone wants that

ethical breeders have contracts saying if the dog is unwanted or it doesn't work out that you need to bring the dog back, an ethical breeder will always take the dog back and do not contribute to shelter population

I mean I get that’s it’s not the only contributing factor, but I’m curious exactly how much of the shelter dog over-population problem is actually due to poor dog ownership/management vs the housing crisis and economical stress. I’d be willing to bet by investing in social programs that give people the resources they need to care for their pets (cough cough affordable and free housing cough cough) that the amount of pets in shelters would dramatically drop. We can all sit here pointing fingers and screaming at each other until we are blue in the face, but if the owners basic needs are not being met, how can we hold them to a basic standard for their pets?

hi does anyone else think about april throwing herself over leo to shield him in the shredder strikes back despite having no weapons no way to defend herself and probably assuming she was going to die. does anyone think about that all the time. every day. uncontrollably

So erm, Danny might’ve fallen through a portal. And might have no clue where he is right now. 

He fell into an alleyway! Right into a dumpster! Which isn’t the worst thing he’s fallen into but still. Ew. Well, Dad should be able to find him and bring him back home! …Right? 

He shakes out his itchy fur and scales, already impatient and bored in the single alley despite it only being a few minutes. What’s a realms hatchling to do but explore? Well, besides taking care of his shed, but it’s too dry where he is anyway. Maybe he’ll find a lake! 

Hm. He can’t understand what anyone is shouting or freaking out about. It’s like they’ve never seen a dragon or something, geeze! Oh well, he’s on his way to find water, he’s not built for the desert…

"Logan and Wade, sometimes called Wolverine and Deadpool, are a bonded pair of male cats. Not much is known about their past history, other then they were found fighting in a dumpster. Adopters tried separating them as it seems sometimes Wade( younger male), can he a bit too rambunctious for older cat Logan. But when placed in different kennels, Logan destroyed his and somehow got into Wade's kennel. Logan seems to become distressed when he can't see Wade, becoming aggressive with handlers when Wade was taken for his vet exam. We decided these two boys need to be adopted together.
