Hey there, fabulous fur-friends! 🐾
Today, I bring you Snuggle Supreme Mode from the coziest corner of my kingdom—the couch! 🛋️ Your favorite fluffball is wrapped up like the purrfect burrito, with the blanket half over my head, because why not? I’ve discovered that a half-hidden face adds mystery and maximum cuteness—two essential elements of cat life.
Under this cozy fortress, I’ve got all the essentials: warmth, comfort, and the perfect spot to keep a watchful eye on my domain. (Translation: I’m napping with style but still monitoring snack distribution levels in the vicinity.)
Some might say I look like I’m plotting something sneaky under here. Others might say I’m just a snuggle genius. The truth? It’s both. 😹
Snuggling is not just an art; it’s a lifestyle, fur-friends. And as I drift off into my blanket-covered dreams, I leave you with this thought: Find your own cozy corner, make it yours, and let the snuggle magic happen. Life’s too short not to get under the blanket once in a while. 😺
Purrs,

There’s this guy in town who owns this little house, and a while back he rescued a street dog that was going to get put down. Turned out she was pregnant.
Problem is, he has mental health & drug issues and couldn’t afford to get them all spayed & neutered, so now there are 6 grown bitches with 15 puppies total, and they’ve dug under his fence in multiple places but he can’t afford to fix it so they go roaming all around town. (When I say can’t afford it, I mean his house is currently running on a generator because he can’t afford his electric bill.) He’s also a day laborer so he cannot take multiple full days off work to take them to the vet an hour away. He’s in a really rough spot.
He’s not a bad person. He’s just overwhelmed.
And this little conservative town with 6 churches for 300 people, have they tried to help their neighbor? Have they adopted the puppies he’s been trying to give away? Have they offered resources?
NOPE! All they wanna do is talk shit about him and complain about the dogs but never lift a finger of their own. And they come to his house to yell at him and cuss him out about the dogs, which does not exactly engender in him a cooperative attitude, as you might imagine.
So after a while of this going on, my mom gets fed up with all the NIMBY bullshit and starts talking to the guy, because she’s done animal rescue for 20-odd years and has Connections. He’s resistant at first, but when he realizes she’s not being an asshole to him on account of his addiction or the dogs, he decides to let her help.
She gets to work organizing and networking. Finds a non-profit that will cover vaccinations, spay/neuter, and flea treatments for all the dogs. Talks the next-door neighbor into paying for materials to fix the fence, since this guy can do the work of it himself. Gets him in touch with another non-profit that will adopt out the adult dogs.
Less than 2 weeks after she decided to do something, all puppies have been to the vet, 10 puppies and 4 adult dogs have been adopted out, and the second non-profit is coming by next week to pick up the remaining 7 dogs to ship them out for adoption.
I’ve learned a lot of things from my mom—some good, some bad—but I think the most important positive message she lives as an example of is this: sometimes, when something needs done and no one else is willing, you gotta stand up and say “I’ll do it.”

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to get help for one of my rescue pups, Atlas was adopted a few months back but is having trouble adapting to his new pack, we're looking to get him a trainer so he can stay with his family who loves him deeply, the trainer is rather expensive so anything that anyone could give to help us get to th goal would mean a lot!
Reblogs very much appreciated!

Today is apparently ANGRY STABBY BIRB DAY.
I was taking a walk on the boardwalk out near Bolstadt in Long Beach, when I came across this western grebe (Aechmophorus occidentalis) stranded on the path ahead of me. It looked alert and uninjured, so chances were just that it couldn't take flight off of the hard surface, but I called Peninsula Wild Care anyway to see if they wanted to bring it in for a checkup.
They quickly coordinated a couple of volunteers to meet me nearby, and I needed to get the grebe out of the way since a lot of people walk their dogs there and not all of them are on leashes. I figured okay, this is a relatively small bird, not as big as the muscovies I've carted around on the farm, and it seems calm, right?
NOPE. As I tried to gently reach for the grebe it turned from a calm, if confused pile of feathers on the decking to Stabby McStabberson, and I very nearly got jabbed and nipped a few times by a long, pointy beak attached to a surprisingly agile and very much NOT happy bird. I ended up having to take my hoodie off and dropping it over the entire grebe, and only when the lights were out could I bundle it up and carry it over to the meeting place.
Since it was pretty energetic, not obviously sick or injured, and its body condition felt decent (at least through the hoodie) I'm hoping it's going to get released soon enough after a checkup and a nice meal of fish. Many waterbirds have a lot of trouble taking off from hard surfaces because their feet are so far back on their bodies--which is great for swimming and water takeoffs, but not so helpful on land. If the bird had stayed stranded there they could have been injured or killed by another animal, or ended up dehydrated.
So let's hear it for Stabby the Angry Grebe, and wish them a good release back into the wild!

Hey there, fabulous fur-friends! 🐾
Guess who’s back to tackle an old nemesis? That’s right—it’s me, Fynn the Fearless, and I’ve returned for The Great Lamp Conquest: Part Deux! 😼✨
So, picture this: I’m on the kitchen table, all stealthy and poised like a ninja on a mission. Above me swings the lamp. Oh, we’ve danced this dance before, but this time, I’m ready. I stretch up on my back paws, reach out with my mighty paw, and… BAM! Gotcha! Well… kind of. The lamp does its usual whoosh-whoosh escape move, swinging back and forth, taunting me. But did I give up? Never!
I gave it my best moves—quick paw swipes, precision grabs, even a little hop for dramatic effect. The lamp might have won the round, but I let it know who’s boss. (Spoiler: it’s still me, even if it keeps its distance.)
If you need me, I’ll be plotting my next strategy and working on my lamp-grabbing skills. Stay tuned, fur-friends—this isn’t the last you’ve seen of The Lamp Whisperer!

FREE DOGS TO GOOD HOMES IN THE EASTERN KENTUCKY/WEST VIRGINIA AREA
So i did Not intend to bring this to tumblr for privacy reasons but its getting to be too much.
I have 5 dogs that are in need of good homes that can give them the love they need. I am barely able to support their basic food needs, much less much needed veterinarian visits and proper enrichment and i am struggling to find shelters and rescues nearby to take them. Please reblog to spread to possible homes.
The first 3 pictured are sisters 14 month old italian greyhound mixes (in order: astrid, gobber, hiccup) and the last two are alaskan Shepherd brothers, 2 years old in august (white nose is max, black nose is ace). All have been socialized with children of all ages and have been around other dogs. Gobber is good with people but not as good with dogs. All are very loving towards people when they get to know them. They are still in need of vet visits and fixing surgeries, but are otherwise excellent dogs. Please dm for further info (serious inquiries only)
NOTE: only one dog (of these) per home, they need attention without having to fight their siblings.

#doggust2024 "cat" inspired by Rebel and Orangie from Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue Inc in Ft Myers, FL
🐾 this doggust i'm drawing real dogs from shelters across the US as seen on Petfinder. Shelter Animals Count estimates that in the first half of 2024, 3.1 mil cats and dogs entered US shelters. While this is down 4.8% from last year, animals are staying in shelters longer, resulting in increasing populations overall.

Russian culture is ecocide
We have a question for animal rights activists: the guys at our positions have a small moose, its mother was hit by a mine… And here is the question: what to do with this calf? Could you please tweet us the news? If you can help in any way, please write to me in DM.
We have found people who will save the calf. Everything ends well. Here is another photo of the kiddo who also suffered from the fucking russians…
The calf is fine, we are waiting for people from the Wild Animals Rescue Center to arrive. There were problems with their access to the place. We will solve the issue.
The filnal update:
Phew, it was difficult😥 The calf was finally taken away.
Animal's whimpers of grief will haunt me in my dreams but for russians it's nothing.
