Somehow the ADHD gremlins haunting my brain have allowed to me to all the laundry and get it folded AND put away. Within less than 48 hours. This has literally never happened to me before and will likely never repeat.

I got my ADHD dx 2.5 years ago.

Before then, all my life I'd scraped by, meeting expectations by the skin of my teeth if at all, failing more often than not. I never bet on myself because I couldn't rely on myself to keep commitments. I never wanted to be evaluated or to get any attention, good or bad, because I knew I couldn't consistently meet expectations.

Today I had a meeting to discuss and negotiate a big request I'm making at work. They're considering allowing it in the first place because of my consistent good performance over the last couple of years (since I got medicated). They expressed confidence that I'd continue to do quality work if given this opportunity. They proposed a monthly check-in where my progress would be reviewed and metrics which I must hit (as consistently as, if not more consistently than my teammates) to maintain these privileges. And I agreed without a second thought. I'm confident in my ability to do what they're asking.

I got out of that meeting and I just... I'm overwhelmed by that. Never in my whole life have I been able to trust and bet on my own self. I can't describe what it feels like. I'm getting a taste of what it feels like to have my hard work pay off. For once in my life, I'm not only not in trouble with authority figures, I'm actually being given opportunities that I have no choice but to acknowledge are deserved. I can't believe it: I'm a person I can rely on. I've become someone I can rely on. For once in my life, I haven't let myself down.

guys guys I decluttered a little bit of my room and now the desk n stand are just pretty messy instead of unusable. I'm rly happy, I also put away the socks I bought some days ago in the drawer and I put away two-three tops from the clean laundry basket that's been sitting in my room for a week. it may not sound like much but it's honest work
