For my selfshippers who happy stim: Fun fact, your f/o LOVES seeing it! Knowing you’re happy makes their heart soar, and seeing you happy stim, whether you’re excited, or happy, makes them so happy too!! They love you so dearly and wouldn’t trade you for anything.

Hey fellow fidgety self shippers (and I mean like fidgety as in squirmy neurodivergent brains)
Your f/o loves how squirmy you are. They don’t think it’s annoying, INFACT they think it’s cute! They think how you kick your legs is adorable! The way you tap your hands, they’re absolutely ENTRANCED by it. Don’t even get me started on your other stims.
If it’s done for any nervous/anxious reason Id imagine they pick up on it quickly. They speak to you with a softness and patience in their voice. Maybe they try to give you as much space as possible.
Your F/O thinks your fidgets are valid!

Honestly man i never asked to be here in life im just living every day life as the universe intended for me: no uni/school, no job, no car, no love life, just someone with autism , ADHD, and executive dysfunction who draws aimlessly, doesn't pursue their dreams, selfships, worships their comfort characters, & sleeps all day..

By the way!! It's completely acceptable to have a unique, personal, and very important relationship with your F/O(s) because of neurodivergency! It's completely okay to find something deeper in your selfship because of autism, OCD, BPD, anxiety, etc!
You aren't "bad", "crazy", or "cringe" for investing a lot of emotional time into your selfships - your relationships are important to you, and that's beautiful.

REMAKE OF THE REMAKE
Just so I don't have to flood my reblogs with stuff about Laurance Zvahl/Garroth Ro'meave, Hawks, Bakugou, Kirishima, Ayano Aishi, Kiawe, etc etc? It could also work as a shifting blog cause I'm shifting for a decent handful of these characters

Y’know the pen!s game? The one where you just say pen!s louder and louder until someone chickens out?
Imagine being like “so there’s this human world game…” to the OM! boys
I feel like Dia would be hella into it, giggling like the goofy idiot he is, ecstatic to be trying out such silly human entertainment. The risk would be p!ssing off Lucifer who’d be within earshot of the yelling game

Honestly the way thinking about your f/o helps you fall asleep is underrated. Thinking about nuzzling their neck is like, Instantly soothing. Grounding. Slows you down, makes you feel safe. It's so awesome

!!! YOU ARE VALID !!!
Dear self-shippers, fictos, waifuists, character builders, or any other lovers of any media:
Here are some facts to ease your mind a bit about character obsessions -
1. The Brain Doesn’t Fully Differentiate Fiction and Reality
Our brains often process fictional characters and stories similarly to real-life interactions. The temporal lobe, along with other brain regions like the fusiform face area, recognizes faces (even fictional ones) and triggers emotional responses. We also rely on our mirror neurons, which help us empathize with others, whether they are real or fictional.
2. Dopamine and Adrenaline Release
Fictional characters and narratives can activate the brain’s reward system. Engaging in a compelling story or relating to a character releases dopamine, giving us feelings of pleasure and attachment. Similarly, intense moments in fiction can trigger adrenaline, just as real-life experiences do. The brain doesn’t produce a “fiction-specific” version of these chemicals—it’s all the same.
3. Empathy and Intimacy
Humans are wired to connect with others, and storytelling is one of the oldest ways we do this. Fiction provides a unique window into characters’ thoughts and feelings, often more deeply than we get with real people. This fosters parasocial relationships—one-sided emotional bonds with characters or public figures that feel very real to us.
4. Judgment Around Fictional Love
(Somewhat subjective, depending): The stigma around being emotionally attached to fictional characters often comes from cultural expectations or misunderstandings about how the brain works. Scientifically, loving or caring for a fictional character isn’t inherently different from loving a real person. It’s just a different context for the same emotional processes.
5. Conclusion
Scientifically Valid: Everything in the post aligns with how human brains process emotion, recognition, and empathy. While we consciously know characters are fictional, our brains don’t always distinguish that on an emotional or chemical level. Loving fictional characters is a natural, human response to meaningful storytelling.
This understanding can help reduce stigma and validate people’s feelings toward fictional characters. It’s not “weird”—it’s just how our brains are built.
JUST REMEMBERED:
You are still a human, and you are still in the 3D. Don’t forget to take care of yourself - especially if you’re neurodivergent and struggle to break focus (like I do). Your favorite characters, shows, books, movies, animes, mangas, internet spaces, comics, and games will all be there when you get back.
Unfortunately, I am currently going through a lot of personal loss, and I am stressed because I am about to return to university to study more research psychology after a holiday break. I had a real brain rot day today where all I could do for hours upon hours upon hours was focus on Mercy from Overwatch. She embodies all the qualities I want to strengthen in myself and find in others, instead of going down a dark and lonely road. Admittedly, I am having a hard time doing that, but i’m trying to be kind to myself on my journey. These facts helped ease my brain for the guilt and anxiety i’m currently feeling for over indulging in an interest.
Let’s all collectively take a 10 minute break to drink some water, yeah???
I know i’m new here, but stay groovy <3
- Regal.
