This is the 2017-2018 AMHS Wildcat Concert Band performing “Sleigh Ride” at last night’s Christmas Concert.

In a Winter Performing Arts extravaganza, they took their turn in front of family and friends alongside the school’s Concert Choir, Guitar Class, String Class, Jazz Ensemble, Choral-Aires, and Drama Class.

Archbishop Murphy is the High School from which Linzy graduated in June of 2016. It was home to the Performing Arts Department from which Linzy set off for Cornish College of the Arts. And when she graduated... we kind of graduated, too.

Ever since Linzy was welcomed with open arms into the Wildcat Band at the end of 2012 and actually took her place among its members in January of 2013, Kimmer ‘n I have been part of the band, too. You know, in that parent-y way in which parental units like us get involved with activities at their kid’s school.

So when Linzy left, we pulled away as well.

And what I noticed about last night was a lovely sense of homecoming. A feeling of reunion.

These days, we cheer from the sidelines and from the stands, encouraged and delighted as the band continues to blossom into something that once upon a time... we very much hoped for.

GO WILDCATS!!!!!
