Ordeal of Acid Attack Victims– The Forgotten Agony
Tumblr media
Acid attack- a term many of us have heard in the news or from our peers, but has it been given enough voice to reach our hearts? The term got a lot of attention when the director, Ms. Meghna Gulzar released a film titled “Chhapaak” on 20th January 2020, inspired by the life of LaxmiAgarwal, an acid attack survivor, who campaigned for the rights of acid attack victims and gained recognition after she filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the regulation of sale of acid (theprint.in,2020)….READ MORE

The victim is... the same as yesterday?
Since Danny managed to master the power of duplication he noticed a couple of things: duplicates didn't always disappear when he wanted them to, it was possible to make many at once and he could change shapes when he used it. The duplicates also disappeared in ecto when destroyed.
So, when the halfa moved to a new location he decided it made the most sense to release "Human Danny's" over Gotham and stay as Phantom to look at his new home from the sky. He needed to investigate his new surroundings and probably find a better place to live.
This made the bats desperate, they had multiple alerts of "Multiple black-haired, blue-eyed boys wandering into dangerous territories" and "A meta flying around Gotham", Bruce doubted it was a coincidence, maybe the meta was a new villain.
In some cases they couldn't get there in time and the blue-eyed boy died mysteriously, since they didn't communicate with each other, they didn't know it was the same victim over and over again. Danny wasn't surprised when he felt one of his duplicates return to him. Of course, the halfa had no idea he was giving Red Robin traumas about a boy "vanishing on acid".
The batfamily, who remained without communication, thought that some villain was chasing down black-haired, blue-eyed people and killing them. Jason was the first to realize that it was the same boy and he frowned not understanding the situation. He found the meta and he was almost harmless, which didn't have sense.

Fun fact : ever since he was a victim of merdolphins attacking him almost losing his ear he's been trying to investigate the cursed crystals of 'mother nature' and the demise of his wife that he knows her death wasn't an accident
but after several investigations he found out that his wife did have a bounty on her head and someone told someone to go hunt her down but it felt off.....like it was premeditated or someone must have poisoned her, dragged her by to those crystals so it can look like she was attacked and probably made that fake bounty
so when he went home and it smelled like dead fish and he couldn't find his wife anywhere he feared the worst and he was right.
now her corpse is still rotting between the crystals and radiation, waiting for him to realize that all of this investigation is for nothing else but a dead end
and he'll probably find a dent in his investigation realizing that the fog is making her rot even more & consuming her to bone and spreading the spores of the crystals
once more

fading love ,burning bridges
In the stillness of the night, a solemn hush,
Burning bridges whisper, their final rush,
But within the embers, pain and passion cling,
A love's demise, a fervent flame's last sting.
Once ablaze with fervor, fierce and bright,
Now they crumble, in the fading light,
Yet in the wreckage of our hearts' delight,
Lies the agony of passion's final fight.
The hope that once blazed, fierce and bright,
Now flickers softly, a vanishing sight,
But in the fading warmth, an ache remains,
A love's memory, mingled with our pains.
As bridges burn and embers fade away,
They cast a glow, a lesson for a new day,
In their quiet demise, a passion's death,
We find the scars of love's final breath.
So, let bridges burn, though they may collapse,
For they teach us lessons, perhaps harsh,
In their fading blaze, where passions depart,
They remind us of love's tumultuous heart.

#narendramodi #teachersofinstagram #rapevictim India was recently left in shock after the sordid details of a gruesome murder made headlines throughout the country; a man killed his livein partner before proceeding to chop her body and scatter the pieces in a forest. 28-year-old Aaftab Amin Poonawala and 26-year-old Shraddha Vikas Walker reportedly met in India's financial capital Mumbai before moving to Delhi. The couple who were living together got into a fight on May 18th, harsh words were said and allegedly in a fit of rage Poonawala killed Walker.
The Nirbhaya case is a gang rape and murder case dating back to 2012. The shameful incident happened on 16th December 2012, whereby Jyoti Singh or Nirbhaya as she came to be known, a 22-year-old physiotherapy intern, was beaten, gang-raped, and tortured in a private bus in which she was travelling with her male friend.
Laws alone cannot help we need to teach our Kids and society about right and wrong and what are their rights and limits. We need to teach them the meaning of word ''CONSENT''
If parents become empowered about the information, children will in turn become empowered.
Talk early and often, building on the conversation and developing the trust of talking together.
Don’t wait for children to ask questions. They pick up taboos early.
Be prepared for conversations – find appropriate resources to build confidence.
Fathers need to be part of the conversation, especially with boys.
Children are able to understand concepts if discussed in age-appropriate ways, eg respect and consent around touching bodies, which is generally addressed in child protection classes.
Provide honest, open, simple answers. Children know when they have been duped.
If you don’t know how best to answer the question, come back to it. Take the time to think, read and then talk. Say, “That’s a good question. I’m not sure how best to answer you at this point. I think about it and get back to you.”
Good communication is two ways, not a lecture.
Children also need good resources that are age appropriate.
This is lifelong learning, not a one-off talk. The responsibility lies with families, schools and communities to work together

From Being Gang-raped To Rescuing The Victims Of Sex Trafficking
From Being Gang-raped To Rescuing The Victims Of Sex Trafficking
Meet the Founder of ‘Prajwala’ Some people have to struggle more than others. Though everyone suffers, some do more. And, a few of such people give up, some don’t give up and let things be, while on the other hand, some suffer, fall, suffer again, stand up, suffer, fight back, suffer, fight and keep standing. They don’t know what is giving up. They feed on suffering and challenges and become…

In case you are not from Mexico you should know that María Elena Rios is a survivor of a femicide attempt against her ( after breaking up with bussinessman and former politician Juan Vera Carrizal, he hired a man who threw acid to her face. Most of her face and parts of her body were burned and she had to spent 6 months recovering in the hospital)
After surviving this attack, she became an outspoken activist for violence against women. She even managed to modify the law so that an attack with acid against a woman would be considered not just attempted murder but also femicide ( which carries a larger sentence in the criminal system)
So the fact that she is making this accusation is very serious and something we should not dismiss just because Tenoch happens to be you favourite actor. In fact this is much larger than Tenoch.
Please, I urge you to read and educate yourself on the violence that women in Mexico have to face everyday. In average, eleven of us go missing everyday and there does not seem to be and end to it. It is because of women like Maria Elena and many other activists, who have bravely spoken out (even when their life and the lives of their families were threatened) that we have been able to see some changes in the judicial system here in Mexico, but there is still a long long way to go.
Elena already survived one attempt to silence her, and with this new accusation surely a lot of people will now try to silence her again
Let's not enable the abuse any further by participating in this and instead let's listen to what she and other victims have to say

Villian AU. Fentonworks is a multibillion company, and the head of the company, the Fentons, are supervillains. But nobody knows this because they wear full face masks, lab suits, and use voice modulators. They’ve been active for years, and their two kids even joined into their crimes. The Bats can’t get ahead of them or figure out the identities of the villainous family because they had a hacker of their own named Technus. (Tucker). Sometimes another young girl hangs around them: Undergrowth. (Sam). The Bats constantly were trying to get ahead of them, but never could. But the same thing worked in reverse: the Fentons couldn’t figure out who the Bats were.
This began their attempts to demask the Bats. The Bats were skilled at this, and beautifully dodged all demasking attempts for years. It became more of a cat and mouse game for both parties after a while. Neither had an advantage over the other.
That is, until the Ghostbusters(Fentons) disappeared into the lab for a week. Danny had an idea. An idea for a type of acid that wouldn’t harm against skin, but would dissolve any type of clothing. It took them a few days to stabilize the formula, and by the end of the week, they had multiple vials of the stuff. The Bats were antsy; they knew the criminal family were planning something. They just didn’t know what they were planning.
The Ghostbusters plan works beautifully. Jack got Bruce, Maddie got Spoiler, Danny got Red Robin, and Jazz got Nightwing. After that, it wasn’t hard to figure out the identity of the rest of the Bats.
The next day, the Bats continued their lives as normal, but they were looking over their shoulder all day. They were antsy, and fully expected something to happen. But nothing did. No new random person started stalking them, nothing out of the ordinary happened. But they kept their guard up because they knew better. They knew the Ghostbusters would eventually do something. They just didn’t know when or how.
Danny had been best friends with Tim for two years, and Jazz had been dating Dick for six months, so they were both blindsided by the identity reveals of Tim and Dick. Jazz loved Dick so much by that point, but hated heroes, and had tried to kill Nightwing more than once before. She was torn on what to do.
Suprisingly, it was Sam’s idea that they went with. Jazz already had a date with Dick scheduled for that Saturday, so as a test to both Dick and Nightwing, they were going to kidnap Jazz in broad daylight. Jazz couldn’t be in two places at once for the attack, so they used a hologram to fool everyone into thinking she wasn’t one of the Ghostbusters.
Phantom(Danny) broke through the window of the restaurant that Dick and Jazz were at. In a matter of seconds, Phantom had a knife against Jazz’s throat. Jazz played the scared victim, and Dick tried to reason with Phantom for Jazz’s safety. Jazz was thrilled about the outcome, but still allowed herself to be kidnapped.
Unfortunately, none of the Ghostbusters planned for the Justice League to get involved.

A Glance at Women's Oppression
Oppression may be measured by assessing socio-structural conditions. Males oppress female human beings on the axis of sex, and this pattern has been recognized across several disciplines of scientific research.
Violence Against Women
One in three women globally experience physical or sexual violence.
More than 1 in 4 women (26%) aged 15 years and older have suffered violence at the hands of their partners at least once since the age of 15.
The vast majority of substantial research on violence against women in the United States is now 20+ years old :)
As high as 64 - 84% of cases of sexual violence go unreported, so these estimates are low.
A male perpetrator was reported in 98% of cases of violence against both men and women.
58% of all women murdered in 2017 were killed by an intimate partner or a family member (source. United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, 2018).
80% of women are victims or survivors of corrosive violence - aka "acid attacks". 60% of these attacks go unreported, most instigators of acid attacks are male, and there has been a 90% increase in these attacks in the last 10 years, with the UK being the country with the highest rate of acid attacks.
Worldwide 1 in 5 girls are married off usually to men twice their age or more.
Globally, as many as 38% of murders of women are committed by a male intimate partner.
200 million women have experienced female genital mutilation/cutting.
71% of all human trafficking involves women and girls – mainly for sexual exploitation (source. UNODC, 2016).
The killing of women accused of sorcery/witchcraft is reported as a significant phenomenon in countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific Islands.
Many women are killed specifically in "honor killings" - to defend the honor of a man.
200 million girls experience female genital mutilation.
National studies indicate indicate that as many as 4 million women are battered each year, but only about 48 percent of these cases are reported to the police.
Violence against women meets the requirements of widely accepted definitions of hate crimes, but crimes motivated by hatred of women are not included in most antibias crime legislation.
Medical Misogyny
The disregard of pain and illness by medical professionals
This doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of this, but: women are seven times more likely to be misdiagnosed and discharged than men in the middle of having a heart attack. 70% of the people who experience chronic pain are female, but 80% of chronic pain studies have been conducted on males or male mice. Women also wait longer for a diagnosis and pain management than men.
Lack of research: the vast majority of scientific understanding and research on human beings conducted globally has been on males.
Period poverty and death due to misogynistic period shame (and I hope that this is obvious, but I am on Tumblr so I will emphasize that 100% of these deaths, illnesses, and disabilities are happening to female human beings.
Reproductive exploitation, discrimination, and control
Women across many countries have little to no access to abortions and other reproductive care, and are forced to carry their rapist's child.
Women are imprisoned for having abortions, and even people associated with helping them in any way to obtain an abortion experience legal consequences. Being impregnated through rape doesn't change this. In multiple states, rapists can sue their victims for parental custody. Women who are victims of stalkers and had children with them also are forced into allowing them visitation in the vast majority of cases.
Women also experience the brunt of forced sterilization and uniquely endure mortality rates from childbirth complications, in which often the infant's life is prioritized over the mother. Doctors may also refuse women and girls birth control, or subsequently deny women's requests to be sterilized.
Being forced to co-parent with their rapist.
Even if rape is proven, men can sue their victims for custody and may use children as a point of control over their victims and contact with their victims continuing psychological terror and causing trauma to children.
Over 3 million women experience pregnancies as a result of rape.
Men who donate sperm privately and through sperm banks experience no regulations and enforcement of how often they donate, resulting in some men producing thousands of offspring and others deceiving women on whose sperm they were impregnated with. Mothers of these children endure severe psychological trauma from this rape by deception in addition to themselves and their children navigating the psychological effects of avoiding potential incestuous relationships with the donor's other children.
Job Discrimination
In 38 countries, women can be fired for being pregnant.
From January 2017 through December 2019, 2.7 million workers age 20 and older were displaced from jobs they had held for at least 3 years; women accounted for 45 percent of those displaced.
While on leave, substantially fewer women than men
receive full pay (32 percent versus 55 percent), and more
receive no pay (41 percent versus 25 percent).
Women continue to experience occupational segregation in nontraditional jobs. In 2013, women composed 7.3 percent of all Craft Workers, while the participation rate for women in the Office and Clerical Worker category was considerably higher at 75.6 percent.
Despite the gains in employment made by women in the last 50 years, the annual median earnings of women working full time in 2013 was $39,157, compared with men at $50,033.
In 86 countries, women face some form of job restriction and 95 countries do not guarantee equal pay for equal work. 59 nations have no laws on the books addressing sexual harassment in the workplace, and 18 nations around the world allow husbands to legally prevent their wives from working.
Influence and resources:
Less than 15% of landholders worldwide are women, despite most women in the global south working in agriculture (source. Food and Agriculture Organization, 2015; World Bank, 2019).
Women make up just 25% of parliamentarians worldwide (source. Inter-Parliamentary Union, 2019).
Between 1990 and 2019 women made up 2% of mediators, 5% of witnesses and signatories, and 8% of negotiators in major peace processes worldwide (source. Council of Foreign Relations, 2019).
Only 1% of aid supporting gender equality went to women’s rights organisations in 2016-2017, despite governments around the world committing an extra $1bn to gender equality initiatives globally (sources. Guardian, 2019, OECD, 2019).
130 million girls are denied the right to an education.
According to the largest study on the portrayal, participation and representation of women in the news media spanning 20 years and 114 countries, only 24 per cent of the persons heard, read about or seen in newspaper, television and radio news are women.
A glass ceiling also exists for women news reporters in newspaper bylines and newscast reports, with 37 per cent of stories reported by women as of 2015, showing no change over the course of a decade.
An analysis of popular films across 11 countries found, for example, that 31 per cent of all speaking characters were women and that only 23 per cent featured a female protagonist—a number that closely mirrored the percentage of women filmmakers (21 per cent)
