Hws Nordics as University Students Headcanons
Because I am a suffering student and you need to suffer with me <3
Denmark
The clown of the group
Has trouble focusing/paying attention
Will use other Nordics in group study session with the goal of body doubling to keep each other in check and focused, but often devolves to laughing and banter instead
Offers good moral support and asks a lot of questions in class, has great participation marks, but can go off topic
Rallies people to meet when need to discuss group projects, again he is great moral support
When writing he either cannot write anything or speed types and hyperfocuses, no in-between
Appears self-confident and social but can actually struggle with self esteem and seeming like he's incompetent or "too much" for people, tries to compensate by being extra likeable and useful
Bonds with people over humor, socializing and making friends are more important than grades to him
Only chooses classes that interest him, does surprisingly well as a result
The most likely of the Nordics to be late for class
Goes to a lot of college parties
Sweden
The mom of the group, always checking in on people and making sure everyone feels included
Reformed high school bully, but still gossips with Norway about classmates and faculty
Has very high standards for himself and his work, will force people in his group projects to do at least 2 rounds of editing
Can really get in the zone and hyperfocuses when studying, but to do that he needs his noise cancelling headphones, his stim toy, perfect room temperature, comfy study clothes, and his daily ritual to actually start
Refuses to pull all-nighters to finish assignments, sleep is more important to him (king)
Is professional with group projects, is calm and good with delegating work
At the same time, he is very opinionated and loves to debate people in and out of class. Often argues with specific students
Easily overwhelmed from noises, activities, and group projects, needs to find quiet places to hide
Gets good grades, professors either love him or forget he exists
Is part of some interest clubs, like for art and woodworking
Norway
The mysterious hottie who sits in the back of class
Hates group projects, doesn't contribute much to them unless it's with his favourite people (other Nordics, specifically Sweden)
Doesn't contribute much in class, but when he does it is good
The class health nut, goes out for 6 am and 11 pm jogs (he is insane)
Also tbh he gives off the vibe of someone who'd be a health nut but also really into drugs at the same time?? Like he does sports and yoga and tracks his water consumption and macros but at the same time experiments with drugs to "expand his spiritual worldview"?
Is fine with concentration, doesn't really struggle unless there's a lot going on in his head at the time
On that topic, he frequents the counseling and medical clinic. There have been rumors about his frequent medical visits...
His writing is okay, nothing to write home about, but then sometimes can get very poetic and profound, especially when it's a personal topic
Gossips a lot with Sweden, they like to people watch together
Skips a lot of classes, somehow still passes
Finland
Perfectionist and an over-achiever, bases a lot of his self-worth on grades. Will get upset if he gets anything below an A-
Can feel like he's in a competition with classmates for good grades and approval from professors, will ask a lot of questions and tries to start discussions in class
Will talk to the professor right after the end of the 1st class to introduce himself and establish dominance
Tries to humble brag about school and his work ethic by telling classmates how often he crams and pulls all-nighters
Very anxious about grades, always does well (at the cost of his mental health)
Mostly sustains himself on energy drinks and coffee
Doesn't like group projects because he thinks no one else cares about doing well as much as he does
This isn't helped by the fact that he has trust issues and thinks others will let him down
Frequents the counseling center and medical clinic on campus. The former because of stress and trauma which worsens school stress, the latter because of medical issues as a result of said stress
Professors either love him or hate him
Despite how he acts in class he's actually a people-pleaser, but his over-achieving nature can be hard to deal with
Goes to the campus gym at least once a week to lift weights, probably part of the school hockey club
If he survives, will pursue graduate school
Iceland
The freshman, trying to figure things out
Thinks that because he did well in high school he'll have an easy time in university (he won't and will be humbled)
Sits in the back of class but secretly wants to sit up front with the "nerds", doesn't want to risk making a fool of himself
Overanalyzes group projects and panics. Double/triple checks his work before sending in his contributions because he wants to seem competent in their eyes
Usually reserved but once he opens up will say the most out of pocket things, sometimes it slips in his quiet phase
Surprisingly, is among the worst of the Nordics in terms of grades. This is mainly because he is unconfident in his own work and views, so he often ends up self-sabotaging his work or doing the bare minimum
His friends are his main priority in school, not grades
Like Fin, is a people-pleaser. Unlike Fin, he is easy to get along with

Shiftblr Supposed Toxicity and the Hypocrisy of Shiftok
Tumblr media
Masterlist :
Disclaimer: It seems the "Shiftok exodus" wwhere shiftokers in fear of tiktok getting banned in the US has flocked to other platforms, tumblr included has begun, with people who haven’t been properly informed arriving from the cult-like environment of Shiftok.
Now, these individuals are attempting to declare that certain topics, like age and race changing, are fundamentally bad and are "calling us out" for discussing them. So, enjoy this essay I quickly put together in response.
If you wish to engage in discussion or debate, feel free to do so in the comments. However, if I see you resorting to insults, threats, or failing to argue without a trifecta of straw man, hasty generalization, and ad hominem fallacies, kindly get the hell off my page. I want nothing to do with that nonsense.
With that said, enjoy the essay—because I am definitely not done dealing with the mess that is Shiftok. And I would rather die than let Shiftblr turn into a Shiftok 2.0, driven by people who don’t know anything about shifting or who are trying to impose rigid, uninformed rules.
I never experienced any toxicity from shiftblr its a breath of fresh air compared to other thing.
Introduction: Understanding the Dynamics of Shifting Communities
In the world of reality shifting, there are vibrant communities across various platforms where shifters gather to share their experiences, discuss methods, and offer support.
Two of the most prominent spaces are Shiftblr on Tumblr and Shiftok on TikTok. However, these communities often clash over their views on certain shifting practices, particularly those involving age and race changing.
While Shiftok frequently accuses Shiftblr of normalizing unethical practices, a deeper look reveals a complex web of misunderstandings, double standards, and even hypocrisy within Shiftok itself.
Part 1: Shiftok’s Criticism of Shiftblr
Subpart A: Accusations of Normalizing Controversial Practices
Shiftok has repeatedly criticized Shiftblr for allegedly "normalizing" practices like age and race changing, which some in the TikTok community see as inherently problematic. They argue that by discussing and engaging in these practices, Shiftblr is promoting behavior that crosses ethical boundaries. Critics claim that age changing, especially when it involves shifting to a younger age, is morally dubious, while race changing is often labeled as cultural appropriation or fetishization.
However, these accusations are grounded in a shallow understanding of shifting and a refusal to engage with the nuanced realities of these practices. For instance, critics often fail to recognize that age changing in shifting is not about retaining adult consciousness in a younger body but fully immersing oneself in the mindset, maturity, and emotional framework of the desired age in the new reality (Desired Reality or DR). As said in my essay about age changing, maturity is linked to the brain’s development, and when you shift, your consciousness aligns with the age-appropriate cognitive functions of your DR self. This immersion means you are not simply an adult pretending to be a child; you truly embody the age and life stage of your DR self.
Similarly, race changing in shifting is not about superficial role-playing or exploiting another culture. Instead, it’s a profound experience where shifters fully immerse themselves in the cultural, emotional, and even historical aspects of the new identity. As explained in my essay about race changing, shifters experience the world through the lens of their new racial identity, gaining insights and understanding that are impossible to achieve from a distance. This isn’t about "trying on" a race; it’s about fully inhabiting and understanding a different cultural perspective, often leading to increased empathy and a deeper commitment to social justice in the Original Reality (OR).
Subpart B: The Reality of Shiftblr’s Approach
Shiftblr is not about promoting controversial practices recklessly; instead, it’s a space where shifters are encouraged to explore their identities responsibly and thoughtfully. Reality shifting is deeply personal, and Shiftblr recognizes the importance of allowing individuals to explore different ages, races, and life experiences as part of their self-discovery and healing process.
Encouraging Ethical Exploration: Shiftblr emphasizes the importance of approaching age and race changing with respect and a deep understanding of the implications involved. The community provides nuanced guidance, encouraging shifters to engage in these practices not out of curiosity or fetishization but as a means of personal growth, healing, and empathy development. For example, age changing can help individuals relive experiences they missed or heal from past traumas by allowing them to experience life from a different perspective. Similarly, race changing can offer profound insights into the lived experiences of different racial groups, challenging biases and fostering a deeper understanding of cultural dynamics.
Criticism Stemming from Misunderstandings: The criticisms from Shiftok often stem from a failure to understand these deeper motivations. By shutting down conversations about age and race changing, Shiftok not only stifles personal growth but also misses the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about the ethical implications of these practices. Instead of fostering an environment of open dialogue, Shiftok’s approach often results in gatekeeping and the suppression of diverse perspectives, leading to a less inclusive and supportive community.
Part 2: The Hypocrisy of Shiftok
Subpart A: Cult-Like Behavior and Double Standards
While Shiftok is quick to condemn Shiftblr for allegedly normalizing controversial practices, the TikTok shifting community often engages in behaviors that are equally, if not more, problematic. Shiftok operates much like a cult, where popular shifters dictate what is considered acceptable, and anyone who challenges these norms is ostracized or harassed.
The Cult of Popularity: On Shiftok, certain figures have amassed large followings and set the tone for what is deemed "correct" within the community. This creates a toxic environment where conformity is enforced, and dissenting voices are silenced. The double standards in how Shiftok approaches different types of shifts are particularly glaring. For instance, shifts into fictional characters or races, even those involving ethically questionable scenarios (such as becoming a vampire who preys on humans), are widely accepted and even celebrated. Yet, shifts involving real-world races or age changes are harshly criticized and labeled as unethical.
Romanticizing Fictional Oppression: Shiftok’s hypocrisy is further highlighted by its acceptance of shifts into fictional races that face oppression or discrimination, such as the Na’vi from "Avatar" or mutants from "The X-Men." These shifts involve experiencing fictional forms of racism or societal prejudice, yet they do not receive the same scrutiny as shifts involving real-world racial experiences. This romanticization of fictional oppression trivializes real-world struggles and reveals a lack of critical thinking about the ethical implications of different types of identity shifts.
Double Standards in Age Changing: A particularly stark example of Shiftok’s double standards can be seen in their attitudes towards age changing. As discussed in my essay about age changing, there is a significant double standard when teenage shifters criticize adults for aging down while they themselves often age up in their Desired Realities (DRs) to experience adult situations. Teenage shifters frequently shift into realities where they are married adults with children and engage in mature content, yet they are quick to condemn adults who wish to revisit their youth. This inconsistency not only highlights the hypocrisy in their arguments but also exposes a lack of understanding about the nature of shifting and the fluidity of identity across different realities.
Subpart B: Judgmental Attitudes and Lack of Empathy
The judgmental attitudes prevalent in Shiftok are often rooted in ignorance and a superficial understanding of shifting practices. Many in the TikTok community are quick to condemn those who engage in age or race changing without taking the time to understand the motivations behind these practices or the depth of the shifters' experiences.
Misunderstanding the Immersive Nature of Shifting: Critics often fail to recognize that reality shifting involves complete immersion in the new reality. When a shifter changes their age or race, they do not merely adopt the appearance of a different identity—they fully embody the mindset, emotions, and cultural context of that identity. For example, shifters who engage in race changing experience life from the perspective of their new racial identity, including the societal challenges and cultural nuances that come with it. This is not a superficial act but a profound, empathetic engagement with another way of being.
Hostility Towards Different Perspectives: The hostile environment on Shiftok discourages open discussions about controversial practices, leading to a community that is less supportive and more divisive. Shifters who explore different identities or challenge the status quo are often met with harsh criticism and even harassment. This attitude stifles personal growth and limits the potential for meaningful, transformative experiences within the community.
Part III-Further Delving into Age and Race Changing: A Complex and Misunderstood Practice
Subpart A-Age Changing: The Healing Power of Revisiting the Past
Age changing in shifting is often misunderstood and unfairly criticized. Critics argue that shifting to a younger age is inherently inappropriate, especially when it involves romantic or sexual relationships. However, this criticism ignores the reality that when shifters age down, they fully adopt the cognitive and emotional framework of their younger self in the DR. As said in my essay about age changing, this process involves a complete alignment with the DR self's maturity, making the experience age-appropriate within the context of that reality.
Healing and Exploration: Aging down allows shifters to relive experiences they missed or to heal from past traumas. It offers a second chance at life stages that may have been marred by anxiety, trauma, or missed opportunities. For many, this practice is not about escapism but about gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and finding healing through immersive experiences in different life stages.
Subpart B-Race Changing: Fostering Empathy and Understanding
Race changing is another practice that is frequently misunderstood and criticized. Detractors often accuse shifters of cultural appropriation or fetishization, but this perspective overlooks the profound potential for personal growth and empathy development that race changing offers.
Immersive Cultural Engagement: When shifters change their race, they do not merely adopt the physical characteristics of another race—they immerse themselves fully in the cultural, emotional, and historical aspects of that identity. This experience allows shifters to gain insights into racial dynamics, challenge their own biases, and develop a deeper understanding of different cultural perspectives.
Addressing Concerns About Appropriation: Critics often argue that race changing constitutes cultural appropriation, but this argument fails to account for the deeply immersive and empathetic nature of the practice. Unlike superficial acts of cultural appropriation, race changing in shifting involves a comprehensive engagement with the new identity, including the challenges and discrimination that may come with it. This immersive experience fosters genuine understanding and empathy, rather than reinforcing stereotypes or trivializing cultural experiences.
IV-How Shiftok Has Harmed the Reality Shifting Community
Shiftok’s approach to shifting has had a detrimental impact on the broader shifting community. By prioritizing trend-driven, superficial practices over deep, meaningful exploration, Shiftok has contributed to the erosion of community knowledge and the spread of misinformation. As said in my essay about how Shiftok destroyed shifting, the TikTok community’s focus on popularity and aesthetics has led to a decline in the quality of information shared, with many shifters abandoning the platform in search of more supportive and knowledgeable communities.
Surface-Level Engagement: Shiftok’s emphasis on aesthetics and trend-following has reduced reality shifting to a series of shallow practices that lack depth and substance. Instead of encouraging shifters to engage with their experiences on a meaningful level, Shiftok promotes a surface-level engagement that prioritizes what’s popular over what’s personally meaningful. This shift in focus has led to a homogenization of shifting practices, where only certain types of shifts are considered "acceptable," stifling creativity and personal growth.
Toxic Environment: The cult-like behavior on Shiftok has created a toxic environment where dissenting voices are silenced, and critical thinking is discouraged. Shifters who challenge the mainstream views or explore controversial topics like age and race changing are often harassed or ostracized. This stifles open dialogue, limits the potential for collective learning, and alienates individuals seeking support and understanding within the community.
Conclusion: Embrace the Full Experience of Shifting
In conclusion, Shiftblr is not about "normalizing" controversial practices for the sake of it; it’s about fostering a community where shifters can explore the full spectrum of human experience in a meaningful, ethical, and transformative way. The accusations from Shiftok are rooted in misunderstandings, fallacies, and a hypocritical approach to shifting that fails to recognize the depth and complexity of these practices.
While Shiftok operates like a cult, enforcing conformity and punishing those who deviate from the norm, Shiftblr provides a space for thoughtful, nuanced discussions about the ethics and implications of shifting. Whether it’s exploring different ages, races, or entirely new realities, Shiftblr emphasizes the importance of respect, understanding, and a willingness to learn.
Shifting is a personal journey, one that should not be limited by narrow-minded judgments or superficial ethics. By embracing the full experience of shifting, including the challenging and controversial aspects, shifters can engage in a journey of self-discovery and growth that is truly transformative. It’s time for Shiftok to take a step back, recognize their own hypocrisy, and allow for the open, thoughtful exploration that Shiftblr encourages.

Seeing through the insubstantiality of consciousness and senses, then, ultimate enjoyment ensues.
by Being_is_IT / Twitter
Reader: Thank you for the suggestion. I have profoundly seen that it's unnecessary to form or resort to any terms/concepts in 'perceiving SELF'. It's just needless.
BeingIs: Yes, good for you! Such profoundness will automatically deepen as you continue your noticing. It does not require any ideas or conclusions to be reached to know SELF. Knowing SELF is so direct that it's analogous to have a capability to see without having to explain it to anyone. Another example is, when you get to taste the flavor of lemon for the first time, you just know it, it's that simple. There is no need for explanation and you don't need to explain the taste to others. You don't need to use ideas or concepts to formulate your knowing. Such knowing is direct. 'Perceiving SELF' is just a convenient expression in words, knowing SELF goes beyond "perceiving", it does not require seeing anything to know SELF. Even if you don't see anything, like that in dreamless sleep, you already know SELF.
A few moments later, dream episode seems to arise in your consciousness, you seem to see something, you seem to feel something, whatever you see and whatever you feel is none other than SELF. Without seeing anything, without feeling anything, SELF is already known. Seeing something, feeling something, the same SELF is known. So, there is no difference between seeing and not-seeing. Seeing something does not give any advantage. Seeing nothing does not give any disadvantage. The Mind prefers seeing something or feeling something as if these senses offer some kind of comforts and securities. The Mind is very afraid of losing senses. The Mind automatically tries to grab on any kind of senses.
For example, sometimes you wake up around 3AM in the morning with a blank memory, such state of blankness may last for a few moment. To the Mind, such state of blankness is very uncomfortable, almost unbearable. Then, the Mind gets so uncomfortable and it begins to panic, the Mind tries very hard to figure out what's going on: "where is it? What's going on? Who am I?...", Most of you must have experienced such panic before. This is exactly the effect of the Mind functioning, the Mind tries desperately to figure out what is going on. Then, a few moments later, memories such as "I am Mr. ABC living with a family with a wife and 2 children, and living in a place called XYZ" rise up, only when such memories arise then the Mind feels comfortable and at ease.
I know most of you had experience similar to that. It doesn't have to be waking up from deep sleep, sometimes, regaining senses from a coma has the same experience. The effect of the Mind relies on rational senses as support to feel comfortable. The Mind is very afraid of having no rational support. Why do you fear death? You don't actually fear the death of the body, you don't actually fear the disappearance of the so-called "life", actually, the fear comes from the Mind fearful of losing consciousness. SELF has no fear of death because there is no beginning and no end for SELF. The concept of "death" is an imagination.
The Mind falls into such imagination and afraid of losing consciousness seemingly belonged to a person called "me". Whenever you can sense the fear, you see the Mind functioning. As Infinite Radiant Energy, SELF automatically manifests energetic effect of having consciousness or having some kind of rational senses. But SELF does not need the energetic effect of consciousness or senses. SELF could be without time, without sight, and without any senses. No problem!
For example, the light bulb does not need to emit light. If the light bulb does not emit light, it does not mean that something has been lost. The glow of a light bulb does not equal anything achieved. With or without emitting light, a light bulb is always a light bulb. Likewise, SELF does not need to have the effect of consciousness. If SELF doesn't sense or be aware, SELF loses nothing. The effect of senses or the effect of being aware does not mean achievement.
Let me caution you: Please do not deliberately seek a state of no-consciousness as an achievement. No, such deliberate seeking will not achieve anything. Such deliberate effort may trick the Mind to fall into more tricky illusions. Effect of consciousness and effect of the Mind comes and goes like wind comes and goes. Such natural energetic effects is harmless unless you take them seriously. Such coming and going does not affect SELF at all. Please enjoy such seemingly coming and seemingly going as funny shows of SELF. Don't take the shows seriously.
That is all you can do. It sounds like I am talking about a mystic theory. Actually, I am talking about unconditional love of SELF without having to quote a single word of "love".

#0016 this is how neptune actually affects your birth chart n.01
neptune: in any given context, whatever neptune touches, will distance. neptune is illusion, dreams, and the imagination; it is not a concrete body, symbolising the physical (eg. physical body, money, etc.) but the spiritual and what we cannot see. we are not yet evolved to see and experience neptune (the dream realm) in its full form, which is why neptune tends to wash our placements down…
wherever your neptune sits in your chart, will be the area that will often become misinterpreted or misunderstood, washed down or distanced. you will have trouble interpreting these placements. however, in instances where there is a positive aspect, it can bring out spiritual gifts or talents that come from intuitive knowing.
neptune/sun conjunction, square, opp.: struggle with identifying with yourself. struggle with understanding who you are. no concrete identity; you flow in and out of life. deep personality. to others, you are mysterious, alluring, and hard to touch. you often feel misunderstood and often feel a part of you is always missing. might change your appearance or identity a lot to fit in with your current interests. weak or absent father figure.
neptune/moon conjunction, square, opp.: struggle with understanding your emotions because they are so deep and hard to touch. weak or absent mother figure. very imaginative brain but very inconsistent and overly sentimental. can be overly emotional with little willingness to rationalize situations. very generous and giving but there is a horrible habit of being the martyr and sacrificing yourself to provide for others.
neptune/mercury conjunction, square, opp.: while you have a very alluring and interesting way of speaking, your shyness can be overwhelming. struggles with anxiety. difficulty rationalizing situations. tendency to lie, manipulate, and avoid confrontation. overly idealistic imagination with a habit of living in your head rater than in reality. to others, you often feel misunderstood.
neptune/mars conjunction, square, opp.: little to no sex drive, little to no energy in general. you feel disconnected from your energy source. you are overly passive and have little to no ambitions. you go with the flow but mostly refuse taking action unless you desperately need to. while you are gifted with adaptability, you are overly consumed by rest to the point of lethargy, laziness, and so on. difficulty connecting to men or you have a profound victim complex with difficulty taking accountability. lying, deceptive, gaslighting tendencies. too much thinking, not enough action. you have little to no boundaries. you are a pushover.
neptune/venus conjunction, square, opp.: strong misunderstanding between you and love. overly idealistic in love to the point of delusion. sex and love are a fantasy rather than a commitment and you have very high standards often unachievable or beyond human capability. there is a strange obsession with wanting to merge with your partner and achieving spiritual euphoria. you may lose a lot of relationships as you feel constantly misunderstood and as though the love you're experiencing doesn't give you the high it should. martyr and self-sacrificing habits/tendencies. to others, you are a pushover and a sponge for abuse, and people take advantage of you. you fear confrontation and can never be mean; this, in turn, allows others to take your kindness for granted. overly forgiving.
neptune/saturn conjunction, square, opp.: little to no boundaries between you and others. little to no discipline. you dream, but you need to think of how you are to achieve your dreams. you may flow in and out of different careers. for you, material success isn't important. however, your work ethic can be often criticized. unstable home life when young, or just an absent/weak father figure. you may display a false self to others. you often soften rules or boundaries and bend them to suit your liking. frustration can emerge when dreams come true underwhelmingly, meaning the picture you envision is often greater than what can come into reality.
neptune/jupiter conjunction, square, opp.: misunderstanding of religion, spirituality, personal values. push and pull between a god complex and a victim complex. a lot of struggles with faith in which you are either consumed in religion or feel you have no belonging to any. constant yearning for a spiritual connection. constant yearning to leave this earth, therefore becoming highly imaginative/dreamy. heavy escapist. little to no boundaries. strong desire for knowledge but overstimulation is common when you think of everything you want to learn. others are seen in a very compassionate light but you have a tendency of acting the saviour to others.
neptune/uranus conjunction, square, opp.: strong misunderstanding between your current identity/belonging in society and where you want to be. may have a fear of having your freedom taken away. compulsively - and constantly - beckoned to help others. while you are original and creative, you're unsure of how to use your artistic talent. difficulty in admitting faults/mistakes. on the one hand, you struggle with establishing authority. on the other, you seem to be chaotic and establish your authority in ways that are obnoxious, extreme, or dramatic.
neptune/pluto conjunction, square, opp.: profound need for transformation and change. your worldview is very unsure and tends to change with personal experiences. you may be paranoid of those around you with strong trust issues. you may be resistant to change. you hardly understand yourself and constantly want to change who you are. weak identity. weak courage, determination, and a heavy disconnect between you and your soul. you often avoid conflict or acknowledging your shadow side, despite having yearnings to change yourself.

Planets forming squares or oppositions to Amor can represent desires that are preferred over love. This can lead to a conflict of interests, affecting the balance of love in your life.
4.2 Conjunctions
When one person's Amor forms a conjunction with a planet in another's chart, it can evoke feelings of love. However, if that person also has a natal planet forming a hard aspect to Amor, it can result in a volatile state of love and hate.
4.3 Opposition to Love Asteroids
Oppositions between Amor and other love asteroids can create a situation where opposites attract. The loved one may function as a devil’s advocate or embody aspects of your own shadow.
4.4 Hard Aspects
Hard aspects can link you up with individuals who have a vastly different concept of love and sharing. This can result in distortions of love, such as manipulation, domination, and submission scenarios.

summary: Cornelius, the son of the great ape Caesar, embodies his father's legacy while navigating the aftermath of the Human-Ape war. While exploring the forest his curious son, Coda, and mate Sarai discovers an abandoned human baby, sparking an unexpected bond between the two children.
Note: This story is set after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes.
-
The world didn't know what it lost when the great ape Caesar died. The noble tragedy of Caesar's death was mourned by his fellow apes but his legacy lives on - he will not be forgotten. His memory lives on in his closet friends, but most importantly his son Corneilus. While only a juvenile Cornielus was taught of this father's legacy, his beliefs, values, strengthens, weaknesses and hope for all of ape kind.
While too young to take over, Caesar's closest apes - most notably Rocket, Maurice and, sometime even Bad Ape in the rare occasion - banded together, creating a council, as they built the colony. Once Cornielius was old enough, he too joined the Council of Apes. Corneilus was strong like his father as well as gentle and wise like his older brother, Blue Eye. It was the great orangutang, Maurice that taught Corneilus not only about his father but the rest of his family.
Corneilus had lost his mother and older brother during the Human and Ape war; the loss of his family made him ferociously protective not wanting the rest of his family and colony to experience the same loss he did. Corneilous would go onto have a son of his own, Coda a very curious baby, with his mate Sarai.
-
The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the dense canopy of trees. The air was thick with the sounds of rustling leaves and distant calls of wildlife, a serene backdrop for the small family exploring the forest. Coda, a bundle of energy with a soft tuft of fur and bright, inquisitive eyes, scampered ahead, his little hands brushing against the leaves and branches as he ventured deeper into the thicket.
Sarai followed closely, her maternal instincts sharp as she watched her son play. She admired his boundless curiosity, a trait she cherished in him, yet she couldn't shake the lingering sense of protectiveness. Coda darted between trees, his laughter echoing like music in the stillness, an innocent sound that reminded Sarai of the peace they had fought so hard to achieve.
As they continued their journey, the underbrush began to thicken, and a soft rustling caught Sarai’s attention. Her instincts heightened, she paused, scanning the surroundings. Coda, oblivious to her sudden caution, pressed on, peeking beneath a cluster of ferns. Then he stopped, his small body frozen in place.
Sarai moved closer, her heart pounding as she followed her son’s gaze. What lay before them was unexpected—an abandoned human baby, swaddled in a tattered, pink rose blanket, nestled among the roots of a large tree. The child was small and vulnerable, its face scrunched up in sleep, innocent and unknowing of the world around it.
Coda stepped forward, his curiosity overcoming his hesitation, kneeling beside the tiny human. He reached out a hand, brushing his fingers against the soft, delicate skin. Sarai felt a rush of emotions; a wave of protectiveness surged through her as she knelt beside Coda, instinctively wrapping her arm around him.
The baby stirred, its eyelids fluttering open, revealing bright, wide eyes that locked onto Coda’s. For a brief moment, the two creatures—one ape, one human—shared a silent connection. In that gaze, Sarai saw the potential for something new, something that could transcend the boundaries that had so long divided their species.
As Coda and the human child exchanged curious glances, a whirlwind of thoughts surged through Sarai’s mind, contemplating the profound implications of this unexpected discovery. Her grip on Coda instinctively loosened, and in a heartbeat, he broke free, kneeling down beside the baby once more, his wide eyes full of wonder.
The baby returned Coda's gaze, its face lighting up with a big, gummy grin that radiated pure joy. Coda couldn’t help but let out a delighted laugh, thrilled by the baby’s reaction. The human child reached out a tiny hand, its fingers wiggling with excitement, and Coda instinctively mirrored the gesture, holding out his own hand.
As their hands met, the warmth of connection surged between them—a moment of innocent unity that transcended the boundaries of their worlds. In that simple touch, the possibility of friendship blossomed, a silent promise of shared understanding and discovery.
Sarai watched the unfolding moment with a mixture of awe and emotion swelling within her. Her heart raced as she took in the sight of Coda and the baby, their hands delicately touching, a bridge being formed between two worlds. The innocence and wonder radiating from both children stirred something deep inside her, a flicker of hope that began to overshadow her concerns.
In that moment, Sarai felt a deep sense of responsibility, not just for her son but for this tiny human as well. The fear that had lingered in the back of her mind began to dissolve, replaced by a fierce determination to nurture this bond.
As the sun dipped lower, casting gentle shadows across the forest floor, Coda, feeling safe and content, snuggled closer to the baby, his small body curling up beside the child. The tattered pink rose blanket, soft and worn, became their shared nest. Sarai watched as Coda’s eyelids grew heavy, the excitement of the day finally catching up to him.
The baby, still reaching out with tiny fingers, instinctively grasped a corner of the blanket, as if sensing the comfort of companionship. Coda sighed softly, nestled against the baby, and within moments, he drifted off to sleep, his breathing steady and peaceful. Sarai felt a wave of emotion wash over her, the sight of her son and the human child side by side, united in their innocence, filling her with hope.
In that quiet moment, she realized that their world had shifted. They were no longer defined by past divisions but were on the cusp of creating a new legacy—one that would embrace both apes and humans. She sat beside them, watching the two children peacefully asleep together, and let the tranquil stillness of the forest envelop her, knowing that this bond, however fragile, held the promise of a brighter future.

robert f. reid-pharr, from living as a lesbian, from Sister & Brother: Lesbians and Gay Men Write About Their Lives Together, 1994
["In 1985 Barbara Smith came like a fresh wind into Chapel Hill. She brought with her a vision of home unlike anything I ever had imagined. It was then that I began the process of being a lesbian. It is only recently that I began to understand lesbianism as a state of being that few of us ever achieve. To become lesbian one has to first be committed to the process of constantly becoming, of creatively refashioning ones humanity as a matter of course.
Coda
By becoming a lesbian, I have done nothing more nor less than become myself.
I had expected to end this piece with these words, forcing all of us, myself included, to reevaluate what it means to be labeled lesbian, gay, straight, bi, transgendered, asexual. And yet, this is not enough. For even as I recognize the difficulty of giving definition and meaning to our various identities, I also realize that as I struggle to lay claim to my lesbianism I am always confronted with the reality of my own masculinity, this strange and complex identity that I continue to have difficulty recognizing as privilege.
It was a Friday afternoon in September when I had my first bathhouse experience. I'm not sure what I expected, or wanted. In truth, I was compelled more than anything else by Samuel Delany's description in The Motion of Light in Water of his visit to the St. Mark's Baths in the early sixties. I thought that it would be exciting, that perhaps within this outlaws' territory I could throw off the stifling fears and anxieties that shape and constrain our lives, sexual and otherwise. I even felt that, given the name of the enterprise I was about to visit— "baths"— there had to be something intrinsically cleansing and healing about it.
Now I find myself asking if in the bathhouse— the most sacred of male enclaves, where my masculine body and affected macho style increase my worth in the sexual economy— I am still lesbian. Is it lesbianism that spills out of the end of my cock as bald-headed men with grizzled beards and homemade tattoos slap my buttocks and laugh triumphantly? Is it lesbianism that allows me to walk these difficult streets alone, afraid only that I will not be seen, accosted, "forced" into sexual adventure?
All my bravado, my will to adventure is caught up, strangely enough, with the great confidence I have gained from "The Lesbian." And yet, this confidence, this awareness of my own body, of my own independence, takes me to places where she dares not go. Perhaps then I am not a lesbian at all, but rather like a drag queen, by day a more or less effeminate, woman-loving gay man, by night a pussy, a buck, the despoiler of young men recently arrived from the provinces and the careful tutelage of their loving mothers. What I know for certain is that this self, this lesbian-identified gay man, is in constant flux. I live like a lesbian, as a lesbian, because I know no better way of life. Still, I live beyond her, in a province that continues to be reserved exclusively for men, all the while reaping the many fruits of sexual apartheid.
Me, I want to escape…. this dirty world, this dirty body. I never wish to make love again with anything more than the body.
Perhaps in my next life I will be done with these questions of identity altogether, will cherish fully the body that I am given, begin to see it neither as burden or weapon, but only as the vessel of my existence. Perhaps in my next life I will have given up finally this constant struggle to explain who I am not— not woman, not white, not straight, not you— and start to revel in the limitless of my boundaries. Perhaps each one of us will recapture that which has been lost, start again to accept and acknowledge the profound ambiguity and uncertainty of this existence. It is then and only then that we will find home.
In 1985 Barbara Smith came like a fresh wind into Chapel Hill."]

Hi! I need the director's cut for "get out before the drop" please!
oh MAN. thank you for asking about get out before the drop! the jaydick topdrop fic is one of my favorite things I've written. i've been a little reluctant to talk about my jaydick fics because part of me was worried i was going to get death threats in my inbox and i got enough of that at work. but fuck it! i'm very proud of those fics- I think they're some of my best characterization work.
i wrote the bulk of get out before the drop on my phone at 2 AM after waking up in the middle of the night (like all the best fics: while slightly possessed.) like everything i write it's about bodies, but it's also about identity and boundaries and how your own understanding of those can smash up against someone else's. i say that not because i generally set out to write fics that are capital A About Things, this isn't an episode of degrassi, but it's kind of obvious what themes I had rattling around in the trunk.
continuing the rest of this below the cut (including discussion of consent and sexual assault)
obviously it's also a fic about consent. I said this in a few comments but I think fandom often sticks to one kind of story about consent-- which i absolutely understand. your standard rape recovery fic is a very cathartic story for many, many people! but in real life your partner is not a perfect fuck machine who dispenses sex in exactly the way you want it, in part because they are a human being and not a mind-reader. but also in part because for anyone, but particularly for survivors, it is often difficult to tell the difference between "this is uncomfortable but in a good and healing way" and "oh god i gotta eject." and that's no one's fault! learning to listen to your body again after ignoring its signals for a long time is hard, and it sucks, and sometimes you learn where your boundaries are by whacking right up against them.
that's all general; in particular i wanted to write that kind of story for dick and jason, who are two people who have lost control of their bodies innumerable times and in incredibly dramatic ways. i think that has got to fuck with your head unbelievably! i think dick in particular is extremely used to pushing through physical discomfort to get what he wants to achieve, whether that's a mission objective or a training goal or emotional closeness. he's been doing it since he was a kid on the aerial bars! he started out ignoring his body way before the multiple on-page sexual assaults that DC doesn't want to acknowledge as sexual assaults. and also all of the mind control, of which there is so much that i wrote a whole other fic about it.
jason, on the other hand, I think is someone who tells himself one story: he has very carefully forged his body into exactly what he wants it to be, which is a weapon. and he is determinedly not thinking about the ways in which he has had absolutely no control over his body (his death, his resurrection, the pit-related changes.) the story Jason tells himself is actually quite similar to the one Dick is clinging to, which is another reason I love to write about them.
a side note: I'm of the school that doesn't ascribe to long term pit madness. I think Jason comes out of the pit a little crazy in ways that have everything to do with profound trauma and very little to do with supernatural whammies. he makes his own choices immediately after coming back and they are bad ones. I think taking that agency from him makes the story much less satisfying and much less tragic. and there's plenty of other ways he loses agency! he died!
all of this was rattling around my head while I was writing. but then I had to actually end the fic. which I struggled with! I was worried the ending - where Dick says alright, let's go again, redo - would come off too pat. but I also didn't want to fall into the trap of making dick a weeping damsel. (fandom's general desire to make dick grayson experience misogyny could be an essay in its own right.) and ultimately I'm happy with where I ended it! it is almost certainly a bad idea for them to jump right back into sex after both of them had panic attacks. and what is jaydick but not a bunch of bad ideas that somehow end up working out.
this post is so long. I didn't even get into the identity stuff, but I feel like that is much more on the surface of the fic and I kind of said what I wanted to say in the fic itself. thank you for asking!
director's commentary meme!

Each journey immerses you deeply in sensory experiences, enhancing relaxation, focus, and openness. Allow yourself to fully engage with each step, taking your time to feel, hear, see, and sense each element as vividly as possible.
Feel free to explore each location, and see what surprises await you!
🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑
Forest of Stillness
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a vast forest. The air is cool and fresh, filled with the scent of pine and damp earth. The sun filters softly through the leaves, casting dappled patterns of light on the forest floor. As you step into the woods, you feel the earth’s stability beneath your feet, grounding you deeply with each step.
Birds sing softly in the distance, their calls clear yet soothing, as if welcoming you to this sanctuary of peace. You walk deeper, feeling a quiet sense of calm settle into your bones. A gentle breeze rustles the leaves overhead, creating a whisper that seems to say, “Be still.” You find a spot at the base of an ancient tree, its trunk thick and sturdy, its branches reaching protectively above. Leaning against it, you feel as if the tree shares its timeless wisdom and strength with you.
The forest’s stillness embraces you, and you breathe deeply, allowing its tranquility to seep into every cell of your being. Time melts away, leaving only the gentle rhythm of your breath and the heartbeat of the forest. You are fully at ease, surrounded by nature’s steady presence.
Oceanic Drift
Picture yourself lying on a floating wooden raft, gently rocking on the open ocean. Above, the sky is a vast canvas of blue, and the sun casts a warm, golden glow over the rippling water. You can hear the soft lapping of waves against the raft, each wave moving in a slow, soothing rhythm that mirrors the natural rhythm of your breath.
The ocean below is clear, an endless expanse of calm blue. As you gaze down, you can see the sway of underwater plants, their movements graceful and unhurried. Tiny fish dart in and out of view, each one a glimmer of light that sparkles and then fades into the depths.
As you lie there, your body feels weightless, supported entirely by the raft and the ocean beneath. The gentle motion lulls you, each wave rocking away any thoughts or tension, until your mind becomes as calm and expansive as the sea. You feel a sense of deep serenity, your consciousness expanding like the horizon, vast and unbroken. In this state, your mind flows easily, free and open.
Mountain Peak Serenity
Imagine yourself standing on a high mountain peak, surrounded by the endless quiet of snow and rock. The air is thin, crisp, and so pure that it feels like it cleanses you with every breath. Below, the mountains stretch out in all directions, their peaks dusted with snow, while a soft mist lingers in the valleys.
You can feel the solidity of the mountain beneath your feet, ancient and unmovable, and its energy rises up through you, filling you with strength and steadiness. There’s a silence here, deep and profound, broken only by the occasional cry of an eagle soaring overhead. The stillness is almost palpable, like an invitation to let go of everything and simply be.
A cool breeze touches your face, and you close your eyes, feeling the air carry away any lingering thoughts or tension. In this vast silence, your mind grows quiet, like the mountain itself—rooted, unmoving, yet expansive. Thoughts become distant, like clouds drifting across the horizon. You breathe deeply, feeling your awareness deepen, becoming as clear and open as the high-altitude sky.
Candlelit Sanctuary
Imagine yourself in a small, cozy room illuminated only by a single candle on a low table. The walls are textured stone, cool and grounding, and the air is filled with the faint, soothing scent of sandalwood and lavender. As you take a seat on a soft cushion, you feel the coolness of the floor beneath you, grounding and steadying you.
The candle’s flame flickers gently, casting a warm, golden glow around the room. You focus on the flame, its movement hypnotic as it dances with the faint currents in the air. Each flicker seems to draw you deeper into relaxation, a soft pull that calms your mind. The longer you gaze, the more entranced you become, until the flame feels as if it’s the only thing in existence, a quiet companion in this peaceful sanctuary.
As you breathe, the warm light seems to fill your body, relaxing you from head to toe, washing away all thoughts and worries. You feel a sense of profound stillness growing within you, matching the calm steadiness of the flame. In this gentle glow, your mind settles into a calm, open awareness, perfectly at ease, floating effortlessly in a meditative state.
Desert Oasis
Picture yourself wandering through a vast desert of golden sands. The air is warm and dry, and the sun shines brightly overhead. As you walk, your feet sink slightly into the sand with each step, the rhythm of your movement slow and steady, bringing you into a peaceful, grounded state.
After some time, you see an oasis in the distance, its cool shade and palm trees like a mirage, welcoming you forward. When you arrive, you find a small pool of crystal-clear water, shaded by tall palms swaying gently in the breeze. You dip your hands into the water, feeling its cool, refreshing touch, and bring some to your lips. The water tastes pure and revitalizing, quenching not just your thirst but also bringing a deep sense of peace to your spirit.
You lie down under the shade of a palm tree, feeling the coolness of the ground beneath you. The sound of the wind through the leaves and the distant trickle of water create a natural symphony that relaxes you entirely. Here in this desert sanctuary, you let go of all tension, your mind slowing, like sand drifting softly in the breeze. In this tranquil space, you settle into a calm, open meditative state, your awareness expansive and serene.
Evening Garden
Imagine a peaceful garden at twilight, with flowers of every color softly glowing in the fading light. Fireflies dance lazily in the air, their lights flickering like tiny stars, casting a magical, golden glow over the plants. A gentle fragrance of roses and jasmine drifts through the air, and you breathe it in, feeling it soothe and calm your mind.
A small bench sits under a weeping willow, its branches creating a natural curtain around you. As you take a seat, you feel the softness of the moss-covered ground beneath your feet, cool and comforting. Crickets chirp softly, their song blending with the gentle rustling of the willow leaves, creating a melody that resonates deep within you, like a lullaby for your spirit.
Sitting there, you feel every worry dissolve, your thoughts quiet as the garden’s tranquility wraps around you. The peaceful rhythm of nature soothes your mind, drawing you into a state of quiet contemplation and relaxed awareness. In this garden sanctuary, you are perfectly at ease, your mind drifting gently into the calm, open waves of a meditative state.
🌑🌘🌗🌖🌕🌔🌓🌒🌑
Each visualization invites a deep sense of immersion, allowing your mind to slip effortlessly into a calm, meditative state. Let your senses fully engage with each image, so that by the end, you’re naturally flowing in the gentle, open rhythm of alpha brainwaves.

Exploring the Shamanic State of Consciousness
Tumblr media
Shamanism, one of the world's oldest spiritual practices, is rooted in the belief that there is more to reality than what meets the eye. Practiced by indigenous cultures across the globe, shamanism involves a deep connection with the spirit world. Central to this practice is the shamanic state of consciousness (SSC), a unique altered state that allows shamans to journey beyond the ordinary, accessing realms that provide healing, guidance, and wisdom. In this blog post, we'll explore what the shamanic state of consciousness is, how it is achieved, and the profound impact it can have on both individuals and communities.
What is SSC?
The shamanic state of consciousness is an altered state in which the practitioner experiences a shift in perception and awareness, enabling them to connect with the spiritual realms. This state is often induced through various techniques, such as drumming, chanting, dancing, fasting, or the use of entheogenic plants. In this altered state, the shaman becomes a bridge between the physical world and the spiritual world, communicating with spirits, ancestors, and other non-ordinary beings.
Unlike other altered states of consciousness, such as those induced by meditation or psychedelics, the shamanic state is intentional and controlled. Shamans are trained to enter and exit this state at will, maintaining full awareness and control during their journeys. This intentionality allows them to navigate the spiritual realms with purpose, seeking out specific information or performing healing rituals.
Techniques to Induce SSC
Shamans use various techniques to enter the shamanic state of consciousness, each tailored to the cultural and spiritual context of their practice. Here are some of the most common methods:
Drumming and Rhythmic Sounds: Drumming is perhaps the most widely recognized technique for inducing SSC. The repetitive, monotonous beat of a drum, typically played at around four to seven beats per second, can shift brainwave patterns from the normal waking state (beta) to a more relaxed and receptive state (theta). This shift in brainwave patterns is crucial for entering the SSC, as it opens the door to non-ordinary realities.
Chanting and Singing: Chanting or singing specific songs or mantras can also alter consciousness. The vibrations created by the voice, combined with the focused intention of the chant, help to quiet the mind and facilitate entry into the spiritual realms. These vocal techniques often carry spiritual significance, with the words or sounds used believed to have inherent power.
Dancing and Movement: Certain forms of dance, especially those involving repetitive movements and rhythms, can induce a trance-like state conducive to shamanic journeying. The act of dancing, when combined with music or chanting, helps to break down the barriers between the physical and spiritual worlds, allowing the shaman to enter SSC.
Fasting and Sensory Deprivation: Fasting and sensory deprivation are ancient methods used to alter consciousness. Depriving the body of food or external stimuli can weaken the ego's grip on reality, making it easier for the shaman to access the spiritual realms. These practices are often accompanied by solitude, further enhancing the shaman’s ability to focus inward and journey into non-ordinary realities.
Use of Entheogenic Plants: In some shamanic traditions, the use of entheogenic plants like ayahuasca, peyote, or psilocybin mushrooms is central to inducing SSC. These plants are considered sacred, and their consumption is often surrounded by ritual and ceremony. The altered states induced by these plants are powerful, often leading to profound spiritual experiences and insights.
The Purpose and Benefits of SSC
The shamanic state of consciousness is not pursued for mere entertainment or escape. It serves a higher purpose within the context of shamanism, providing a means to heal, gain wisdom, and restore balance in the community.
Healing: Healing is one of the primary reasons shamans enter SSC. In this state, they can communicate with spirits, diagnose illnesses, and retrieve lost souls or energies. The shamanic belief is that many physical and mental illnesses have spiritual roots, and by addressing these spiritual causes, the shaman can facilitate profound healing.
Guidance and Wisdom: Shamans often journey into SSC to seek guidance for themselves or others. This guidance can come in many forms, such as visions, messages from spirits, or encounters with power animals or ancestors. The wisdom gained from these journeys is then brought back to the ordinary world, where it can be used to help others or guide the shaman in their spiritual practice.
Restoring Balance: In many indigenous cultures, shamans play a crucial role in maintaining the balance between the physical and spiritual worlds. By entering SSC, they can identify and correct imbalances in the community, whether these are caused by negative energies, disharmonious relationships, or disruptions in the natural world. Through rituals and ceremonies performed in the SSC, shamans work to restore harmony and ensure the well-being of their people.
Modern Applications of SSC
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in shamanic practices, including the use of the shamanic state of consciousness, among those seeking spiritual growth and healing in the modern world. Workshops, retreats, and online courses offer individuals the opportunity to learn shamanic techniques and experience SSC for themselves. While traditional shamanic practices are rooted in specific cultural contexts, modern practitioners often adapt these techniques to fit contemporary spiritual needs. This includes integrating shamanic journeying with other forms of spiritual practice, such as meditation, yoga, or psychotherapy. The benefits of entering SSC, such as deepened self-awareness, healing, and spiritual insight, resonate with many people seeking to reconnect with their spiritual selves in a meaningful way.
Conclusion
The shamanic state of consciousness offers a profound opportunity to journey beyond the ordinary and access realms of reality that are normally hidden from view. Through techniques like drumming, chanting, dancing, and the use of entheogenic plants, shamanic practitioners can enter these altered states at will, using them for healing, guidance, and restoring balance. As interest in shamanism continues to grow in the modern world, more people are discovering the transformative power of these ancient practices, finding ways to integrate them into their own spiritual journeys. Whether you are a seasoned spiritual seeker or simply curious about the mysteries of the mind, exploring the shamanic state of consciousness can open doors to new levels of understanding and connection with the spiritual world.

do you have any tips on how to achieve a state of enthusiasm? you seem to know how it works
KIND OF!
kind of because it doesn't always work and can be super elusive for a long time until it suddenly does work. hopefully.
you already know this but for the sake of anyone else who comes across this reply, Dionysos is "the god who comes," meaning that enthousiasmos, or possession, is an enormous part of who he is and what he does.
the three step process is to make yourself hospitable, call the god, and get out of the way.
MAKE YOURSELF HOSPITABLE this can mean a lot of things. hard to say what's necessary *for the god* and what's a psychosomatic preparation of your own self. might mean cleansing, getting calm and centered (or hype and manic I guess, ymmv), Donning The Vestments (whatever garb or jewelry is relevant), preparing your surroundings (candles? fire? low light? soft surfaces? unremarkable ambient temperature? sounds or lack of sounds?), and removing distractions (turn off the alarm on your phone etc). maybe you want to be actively dancing, or lying down. making yourself hospitable to the god works a lot better if you make your space hospitable to yourself. I also recommend having a trusted buddy, for safety and to help with recall later. the god will interact with others through you if he comes. .
CALL THE GOD ritual works. use it. set an altar, make offerings, play music, say prayers. smoke/incense is good bc it doubles as offering and as a sensory signal to your body that you're entering an altered state. recite epithets and entreat the god to enter you. .
GET OUT OF THE WAY do whatever you need to do to make space in your brain/etc for the god to come in and drive. (some people just use drugs. I can't say that's the best method - it can be a shortcut but at the cost of not learning to do it on your own, and it's harder to remain clear-eyed through what should be a really profound experience. but I am not a very drugs person so again ymmv.) there's an almost physical sense for me of molding my consciousness to take up less space - like pressing into the wall of a crowded elevator. I cover my eyes for best results, or at very least keep the light very low. looking around the room or being asked a technical question that I can answer but D cannot is a fast way to yank me back into my head and force the god out. if you are prone to dissociation, this step might be really easy for you, and the hard part could be coming back to fully inhabiting your body. if you are a very grounded and embodied person, which I am, getting out of the way is the hardest part and takes the most practice. you may only get flashes of success for a really long time.
that's the format I've pulled together from a decade or so of studying, practicing, and listening to smart people. epiphany and possession are essential to Dionysos as a deity. if you try and it isn't working, don't get frustrated with yourself, just keep at it. I've had times in my practice when it's been years between successes. when the conditions are right, the god will come.

Look Ik the whole virgin Crowley & Aziraphale is taking off after that mess of a kiss & it's valid ofc BUT
I do want to point out an alternative:
A kiss is different when it's someone you love , it's different when it's unexpected, the culmination of 6000 years of tension, a kiss with someone of your own kind– opposite sides yes but of divine nature nonetheless.
Truely, but somewhat illogically, I find it more likely for Crowley to be the more inexperienced one. Temptations r a devils work and all but I honestly don't see him being "in love" with the human form, all its confusing orifices disgusting substances etc. I feel Aziraphale would be the one to have, at the very least, an interest in human intimacy. (If anything it could be more of a hobby or "guilty" pleasure.)
Additionally, I think Crowley and Aziraphale would have very different views of your regular kiss...
Crowley could think of it as something sickly romantic, useful for occasional charm but nothing necessary in fulfilling animalistic desires. This, incidentally, makes the idea of tender kisses, touches, and heavenly love all the more bittersweet. Because, it'd only be right if it was his Angel, it wouldn't feel authentic otherwise. Why give into "undevil-like" cravings that couldnt possibly be fulfilled by a random human?
As for Aziraphale, I believe he's kissed before– if not much more than Crowley. He engages in a lot of romance stories, finding human love a profound, and beautiful creation. Maybe he kissed to make ppl feel better, to test what it was like, perhaps he met a human he grew a liking to. But I don't think Aziraphale has ever had that cinematic, over dramatized, eye opening kiss that he's read about. This of course is bc he's never kissed someone he's truely, wholly, in love with. And I don't think that kind of love is comparable– let alone achievable– to flings or the occasional experiment with a human. I believe he reacted the way he did during Crowley's kiss bc he finally felt it: that entirely sober, heart-wrenching, heavenly moment of kissing the one you love (and have loved for 6000 years) for the very first time.
So, in conclusion, I think Crowley and Aziraphale have experimented with their human bodies– maybe even together– but I'm sure they'd never had a moment like in Good Omens Season 2. It was sudden, teeth-achingly tender and entirely too sober after an entirely too vulnerable moment.

Cocaine Addiction Side Effects: Understanding the Dangers
Tumblr media
Cocaine addiction is a highly dangerous and potentially life-threatening condition that not only impacts the user’s health but also affects their relationships, career, and overall well-being. Cocaine, a powerful stimulant, is known for its short-term euphoric effects. However, long-term use can cause a range of severe physical, mental, and emotional side effects. Understanding the risks associated with cocaine use can help individuals recognize the signs of addiction and seek timely treatment.
Physical Side Effects of Cocaine Addiction
Cocaine has a profound effect on the body’s central nervous system, and prolonged use can lead to a wide range of serious physical health problems, including:
Cardiovascular Issues: Cocaine constricts blood vessels and raises heart rate and blood pressure, significantly increasing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats). Long-term users often suffer from chronic heart conditions, which can be fatal without intervention.
Respiratory Problems: Snorting cocaine can damage the nasal passages, leading to chronic nosebleeds and loss of the sense of smell. Smoking cocaine, in forms like crack, can cause severe lung damage, chronic cough, and respiratory infections.
Weight Loss and Malnutrition: Cocaine acts as an appetite suppressant, leading to unhealthy weight loss and nutritional deficiencies. This can weaken the immune system and make the body more vulnerable to infections and diseases.
Neurological Effects: Cocaine use can result in severe neurological complications, including seizures, headaches, and strokes. The drug’s impact on the brain’s dopamine system can cause irreversible damage over time, leading to a decline in cognitive functioning.
Gastrointestinal Complications: Cocaine can reduce blood flow to the intestines, causing ulcers and tears in the gastrointestinal tract. These complications can lead to life-threatening conditions, such as bowel gangrene.
Mental and Emotional Side Effects
The psychological impact of cocaine addiction is just as devastating as the physical side effects. Chronic cocaine use can lead to:
Paranoia and Hallucinations: Many long-term cocaine users experience intense paranoia and even auditory or visual hallucinations. These episodes can result in dangerous or violent behaviors and increased risk of injury to oneself or others.
Anxiety and Panic Attacks: Cocaine stimulates the central nervous system, which can lead to chronic anxiety, panic attacks, and feelings of restlessness. These symptoms can persist even after the drug has worn off.
Depression: While cocaine initially creates feelings of intense euphoria, the aftermath is often marked by severe depression, especially during withdrawal. The brain’s dopamine levels are depleted after prolonged use, leading to a diminished ability to feel pleasure, also known as "anhedonia."
Addiction and Cravings: Cocaine’s addictive properties can lead to compulsive drug-seeking behaviors. Users often develop tolerance, requiring higher doses to achieve the same high, which increases the risk of overdose.
Cognitive Decline: Prolonged cocaine use can impair memory, decision-making, and overall cognitive functioning. This decline can affect work performance, relationships, and the ability to carry out everyday tasks.
Behavioral and Social Consequences
Cocaine addiction can take a significant toll on a person’s social and emotional well-being, leading to:
Relationship Strain: Cocaine addiction often leads to conflict with loved ones, as users may lie, steal, or become isolated in their pursuit of the drug. Trust is frequently broken, and relationships can suffer irreparable harm.
Legal and Financial Troubles: Due to the high cost of maintaining a cocaine habit, many users face financial difficulties, often resorting to illegal activities to fund their addiction. This can result in legal consequences such as arrests and imprisonment.
Work and Career Impact: Cocaine addiction can cause individuals to neglect their professional responsibilities, leading to poor job performance, absenteeism, and eventual job loss. The inability to maintain employment can exacerbate financial and personal issues.
The Importance of Seeking Treatment for Cocaine Addiction
If you or a loved one is struggling with cocaine addiction, it’s crucial to seek professional help as soon as possible. The risks of continued use, including overdose and long-term health problems, make early intervention essential.
At Greater Boston Addiction Centers, we offer a range of evidence-based treatment options to help individuals overcome cocaine addiction treatment and begin the journey toward lasting recovery. Our programs include:
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): A structured treatment option providing intensive therapy while allowing individuals to return home in the evenings. Partial Hospitalization Program offers medical supervision, individual counseling, and group therapy sessions, making it a comprehensive treatment approach for severe addiction cases.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): For those who need flexible care while maintaining daily responsibilities, our Intensive Outpatient Program offers a robust treatment plan with therapy sessions multiple times a week. This program is ideal for individuals transitioning from inpatient care or those who cannot commit to residential treatment.
Outpatient Program: For individuals in the later stages of recovery, outpatient care allows continued access to therapy and support while reintegrating into daily life. Outpatient Treatment program focuses on relapse prevention and long-term recovery strategies.
Conclusion
Cocaine addiction is a serious condition that affects all aspects of life—physical, mental, emotional, and social. The side effects of prolonged use can be devastating, but recovery is possible with the right support and treatment. At Greater Boston Addiction Centers, we are committed to helping individuals reclaim their lives from the grip of addiction through compassionate and effective care.

☞ How my 90-day social media cleanse opened my eyes to the beauty of the unplugged world:
🪷 Taking a step back from social media from November 2023-February 2024 was my way of escaping the cycle of comparing my life to the curated perfection of others online. In doing so, I discovered a profound reconnection with the world around me. Without the constant pull of curated feeds and perfectly staged posts, I began to see the genuine beauty of life in its purest form. Conversations became more meaningful, my surroundings felt more vibrant, and my self-awareness deepened.
This detox was a journey toward finding authenticity in the simplicity of everyday moments. It taught me the incredible value of living fully in the present, savoring the real connections and experiences that life offers beyond the screen. This revelation showed me that true contentment and joy come from engaging with the world directly, rather than through the lens of social media.
🪷 Currently, I have embarked on another social media detox, starting on June 17th. This ongoing break is once again reinforcing the lessons I learned during my previous cleanse. I am finding peace in the present moment and fostering deeper connections without the distraction of constant notifications and scrolling.
Embracing this time away from social media has been empowering and uplifting, and I want to share this journey with you. Here are my tips to help you achieve a successful social media detox:
☞ Pressing Pause for Peace of Mind
🪷 In today's whirlwind of endless scrolling and notifications, it's easy to feel lost in the digital shuffle. If you've noticed that opening your social media apps feels more obligatory than enjoyable, it might be the universe nudging you to press pause. Trust me, stepping back to breathe and recharge offline isn't just beneficial; it's necessary. Your mental health deserves that kindness.
☞ Reviving My Creative Spirit
🪷 Outside the confines of those apps lies a vast, vibrant world waiting to spark your creativity and uplift your mood. Imagine treating your mind to a reset, as you would your phone after it glitches. That's what a break from social media can offer—a chance to reboot and refresh.
☞ Beyond the Screen: A Journey of Self-Discovery
🪷 Ever been haunted by FOMO? That fear of missing out can feel all-consuming, but it's fleeting. What's enduring is the opportunity to reconnect with your true self and unearth the hobbies and passions that have been buried under a pile of notifications.
☞ Choosing Reality Over Comparison
🪷 Embarking on a social media detox isn't about escaping reality; it's about enhancing it. It's a journey towards breaking free from the relentless cycle of comparison, reigniting the flames of your offline life, and regaining control over your digital consumption. This journey is about finding balance and remembering that life's most precious moments don't require a Wi-Fi connection.
☞ Returning to Social Media With a Fresh Perspective
🪷 One of the greatest revelations comes when you realize social media will still be there after your break, unchanged. But you? You'll return transformed—with fresher eyes, a lighter heart, and a newfound sense of clarity and calm.
☞ Embracing the Real World: My Social Media Detox Story
🪷 So, consider this your personal sign, from someone who's walked this path: Dive into the detox. Allow yourself to explore and embrace the joys that exist beyond your screen. The real, meaningful connections you'll forge offline will remind you of what it truly means to live—fully, deeply, authentically. Your mind, body, and soul will not only thank you but flourish because of it.
With love and support,
- 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞
