Someone or something spoke the world into existence and we’ve been stealing other people’s stories ever since we’ll take whatever gods you have < OH HEY LOOK IT'S MY BARD TALIA
When inventing a fantasy religion a lot of people a) make the mistake of assuming that everyone in fantasy world would worship the same gods and b) assume that polytheistic religions see all of their gods as morally good

Microsoft reneged on promises it made in court during its Federal Trade Commission (FTC) antitrust trial in 2023 by laying off 1,900 employees in late January, according to the FTC. FTC lawyer Imad Abyad filed a letter with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Wednesday, effectively telling on Microsoft. “This newly-revealed information contradicts Microsoft’s representations in this proceeding,” the FTC lawyer wrote. Microsoft announced on Jan. 15 that it was laying off 1,900 workers from its gaming division — around 8% of that part of the company. A large portion of those layoffs were at the newly acquired Activision Blizzard. The percentage of Activision Blizzard layoffs has not been made public, but at least 899 of that 1,900 worked out of Activision Blizzard’s California offices, according to public records.

🚨 The number of martyrs in Lebanon today has risen to 275 and 1,024 wounded, marking the bloodiest day in Lebanon in 35 years. Lebanese Minister of Health Firas Al-Abyad stated that IOF attacks targeted ambulances, medical centers, and convoys of displaced people. Among health workers, two martyrs ascended and 16 were wounded. The resistance continues to carry out operations in support of Palestine and Gaza, and in defense of Lebanon and its people. Glory to the martyrs.

The forgotten Jewish actress who ended her days in penury
Rakia Ibrahim, Camelia, (Liliane Levy Cohen), Nijma Ibrahim,   Nagwa Salem, and the greatest of all  – Leila Mourad – all were well- known Jewish actresses in Egypt. But how many have heard of Esther Shateh? Marwa Ayoub  has posted this Facebook entry:

Esther Shateh: died alone and in poverty
Esther Shatah had one of the longest acting careers in Egypt. She began treading the boards at a time when acting was at first  limited to men who played women’s roles.
Esther, a Syrian-Jewish actress, was born in October 1884 and came to Egypt after her father’s business in the Levant stagnated.
The first time Esther came to Egypt, she was told that she was a natural actress. She tried, succeeded, and shone. So successful was she that she belonged to one than one troupe  – the  Salama Hijazi Troupe in 1916, the George Abyad Troupe in  1922, the Abd al-Rahman Ramzy Troupe in  1932, the Actors’ Union in  1933, the Okasha Troupe 1935, and the National Troupe in  1944.
All those who knew Esther well said that she was so good and kind to her friends that she would have gone to borrow money to relieve a friend or colleague of a debt.
After the wars of 1956 and 1967, she refused to leave Egypt and insisted on ending her days in  the land that embraced her, and gave her good times as well as difficult days.
In her last years, Esther lived alone after her son left her and travelled to America. The camera turned its back on her and she was left without a job.  She refused to go out and find a job or money, selling off  the furniture in her home, her apartment stripped down to her bed.

Yes, rhinestones and all, this is a real Shriner's Fez. Inside is embroidered the name of the man who wore it once upon a time.
No - I am not a Mason or a Shriner. But I do have a collection of headwear. The tassel {which is 17 inches long!} weighs more than the rest of the fez! 'Ballut Abyad' is 'White Oak' in Arabic, and this particular Shrine is in New Mexico. I purchased it off eBay.
