Plot Bunny Game: DC, Dick Grayson ship?
YES YES YES (Dick Grayson my beloved my man my everything)
Clarissa Quentin!
Gotham Élite Baby
Not a vigilante at first, technically
Technically bc she doesn't know she is a vigilante 👀
Meets Batman&Robin in one of her "blackout night" and she becomes a sort of ally (they don't work together but they are ready to help each other if necessary)
Takes so long to figure it all out omg
On the civil side, she is so close to Dick but he never tells her about Robin
Double betrayal, he leaves and she realize his secret identity and holy shit this is a mess
But they will figure everything out I swear!!
FC: Samara Weaving

--// It's not valentines day anymore here because I was doing community stuff, but I will do some thing that an rp blog might do and post headcanons about how some muses spend valentines day.
Sigma: He does not know it's valentine's day. He's doing research. He will learn it's valentines day when a friend remind him of it.
Clarissa: Well, she WANTED to go on a date, but Talon pulled her in for extra work, because of course they did.
Setesh: Setesh does not care about a holiday celebrating primarily romantic love between humans. It is pointless and humans would do well to set aside their baser natures to actually be better people rather than subjects of their own chemical reactions. These vapid displays have no meaning when they still allow cruelty and inequality to prevail and help you ignore the corruption festering in the world for this capitalist ploy you call a celebration.
Najma: Najma knows it's valentines day, but they don't really care nor have anyone to spend it with. They used to care and they used to find it charming, but having humans attempt to contain them and hanging out with the likes of Setesh might have changed that.
Roland: He will have a great time buying discount valentines candy tomorrow so he can have a "treat yourself" day and laugh at stupid rom coms with a friend in his pajamas.
Mamun: Mamun always saw valentines as a general celebration of different kinds of love. He likes to send messages of appreciation to his close friends and family when he can. Sometimes, he might forget, recent events have made that more common, but some of his siblings will take te initiative in wishing him a happy valentines day. There are times where he may worry that sending valentines wishes to people could send the wrong message if they don't know him well enough to know it's a platonic thing, but that hasn't happened often thus far.
Sanguine: Heart's Day is actually on the 16th of Sun's dawn, which is the closest equivalent to valentines day in the Elder Scrolls universe, and so happens to be Sanguine's summoning day. It is a VERY important day. Don't ask him what he gets up to; Aside from getting some basic offerings, it's not very PG.
Nihlus: Nihlus used his knowledge of the largely "western" human celebration of valentines day to track down a human target for a mission and kidnap him for interrogation, after which he "disposed" of the individual in question. This is confidential information, the sharing of which can come at the cost of incarceration.
Evfra: He does not know what valentines day is. Is it a day of remembrance? Why are the humans putting pink flower petals everywhere? These are supposed to be hearts? Human hearts don't look like that at all, I have seen several. Paaran, do we have to entertain them on Aya of all places? Can't they keep it contained to the Hyperion? They're making a mess over the entire terrace and Ryder has been sending more ridiculous correspondences than usual. You may be from Voeld, but my heart still melts for you? What does this even mean? Who put a hat on that adhi? Did someone paint flower petals- hearts on that adhi? This is ridiculous. Someone, get that off the animal before it gets even more agitated than it already is.

STRANGE NOISES FROM THE HOLE IN THE WALL HEADCANONS/INTERPRETATIONS UHHH OBVIOUS SPOILERS. CLARISSA CENTRIC CAUSE. HOLY SHIT
clarissa is to locomotion as clara is to the nutcracker. she's the kid who dreamed him into existence hundreds of years ago. i know he says he's older than the devil - i think that's still plausible, he's existed since thought but wasn't attached to the Silver Line or brought into physical existence until clarissa, lonely or in danger or just bored, imagined a world where she could escape from her everyday life and live as a grown-up(? maybe? since benjamin/timothy/billy seemed to age up as soon as he went through the portal?), with freedom and whimsy and eventually a relationship with the friendly driver.
why do i say this? because otherwise im really fucking confused lmao, that first scene where clarissa and loco are introduced is strange in the context of the end of the play. they seem to have known each other for a good while before they get on the train. they act like a young couple who's stumbled upon the silver line as an escape from danger and now they're excited for their new life in a new, safe world. except that loco also says he's been driving the train for years.
(looking back, that very much feels like a scenario from a child's imagination - or perhaps a dream - where of course he's been doing this for years, that's his job, but of course they're glad they've found the train together, this is a new experience for her so it's just an extension of her perspective)
but clara is, she says, a child when she gets on the train. idk how old "little girl" is, but if we run with this headcanon and also assume that the timeline is both linear and literal, she's imagining herself in some form of a sexual relationship with loco at a pretty young age.
i posit that this can be reconciled in several ways (some more disturbing or inappropriate than others), but one thing that could be considered is that the first scene where loco and clarissa are introduced is symbolic of their relationship over the course of the train's history. depending on how old clarissa was when she first dreamt the world into existence, she might not have even been very aware of loco, and spent her time just enjoying the escapism or whatever. after a few years or however long, she starts to get older and decides to learn how she's actually done this, maybe spends a long time trying to understand exactly what's going on. maybe her research leads her to a relationship with loco, i don't know. they do get on the train together, maybe, when they're both young (or, well, relatively speaking) and new to the world, and loco eventually has been driving the train for years and years and clarissa makes it a bit more tolerable with some companionship after a long lonely time. but those things don't happen simultaneously, because i think those things don't really work simultaneously. that scene is a sort of speedrun/amalgamation of how the two of them have interacted over the years. and yeah i guess that means they fucked at one point in there
(im going to be transparent, some of that is a bit of cope/rationalization. i think loco and the conductor are very exes/begrudging coworkers vibes, but i do like clarissa and loco together as well - unsettlingly powerful girl x eldritch being with a soft spot is a very good trope. and im trying to make it work out okay? give me a break lol. you don't have to agree with me on this, but once i see a luke and tom couple with a fun and compelling dynamic i will not let them go even if the ethics get a bit hard to explain later on. sorry, anyways moving on)
additionally, and i probably should have said this earlier, a reason i think this whole nutcracker theory holds up is because clarissa holds a sort of unique power in the world. she's been on the silver line for hundreds of real-years, who knows how many train-years, and still remembers her name and something of her old life. loco isn't hostile to her, even confirming her memory of her name and reminding her of her birthdate. with everyone else (ex. benjamin), he actively discourages them from remembering their lives. despite seemingly being one of the oldest passengers, she doesn't transform for hundreds of years. she obviously has some significance.
you know how that ties in? if this is clarissa's world, if her mind is what created the whole thing, then i think it makes sense to assume it's tied to her. as she begins to question her surroundings, then panic as she realizes she can't leave, her emotional and/or mental state becomes less stable, less utopic, less perfect. the dream begins to turn into a nightmare. and it becomes. well. an ouroboros. the snake eats its own tail and the train goes in circles and the escapist fantasy clarissa once loved becomes a prison of her own design. trapped in the very thing that was supposed to save her.
maybe that's why anthony and benjamin can get out when they do - as clarissa's world decays, as she finally begins to become part of the nightmare, as she melds with the train, the world has to shift a bit. it's reaching the point of no return - once clarissa has been fully sucked in, the train will never stop again. falling into an infinite nothing. but in that moment, there's one final chance for the conductor to stall locomotion, one final leap that could at last pull benjamin and anthony and everyone who's been sucked in by clarissa's black hole of a nightmare out of the portal and back into the real world.
and now, clarissa has lost three hundred years of a life that should never have lasted so long. gained perhaps thousands of years of memories of joy and connection and despair and panic and forever forever forever. and she is once again trapped in a vessel of her own making - her body is that of the child she has not been for lifetimes. her world is dead and gone - not just the world she created, but the world she escaped from as well. what of locomotion, that brief flash of connection? does he even exist anymore? who is she, now? who was she? where can she possibly go from here?
shoutout delirium_undead on discord for going along with the nutcracker theory and helping me flesh this out. your ideas are so galaxy brained and i am forever in your debt
#OKAYYY she gives me so many feelings#this longform was recordbreaking in both length and the amount of plot and lore they stuffed in there oh my word#fucking. augh !!!! CLARISSA !!!#cannot even express how hard i have thought about this. it's been twelve hours since i saw it lmao. oughhhhh im gonna be sick#toasty talks#blorboposting#sfth clarissa#strange noises from the hole in the wall#shoot from the hip#sfth#sfthposting#analysis#i'm sure i've forgotten things...oh well more posts for later i guess#i wrote PARAGRAPHS in discord. more than i wrote here even. i was just trying to figure out what the hell is going on#and finally worked something out!! i think this makes sense tbh and i really like what it says about everybody#oh the conductor i should talk about him too. maybe later

Let me compare Clannibal and Hannigram for one moment please because I need to talk about it.
I love how Hannigram is based on Clannibal. I love all the ways it differs. Clarice really has to suffer to be with Hannibal, Hannibal wants her to be entirely different than what she is. He displays the same abusive behaviours as he does in the NBC adaptation, but in my mind: it's for two completely different reasons.
Clarice has a sense of self, throughout the events of Silence of the Lambs. She has a clear objective, and she genuinely does want to help people. She isn't presented as having this "dark" side to her (for a lack of a better word). Her trauma elevates her pathology; it's a driving force for her decisions. She's also a brave woman, and this shows in her interactions with Dr Lecter. Dr. Lecter is the only person in Silence of the Lambs who truly recognises her, and what's she is capable of. His response? To keep her.
Hannibal kidnaps her, attempts to drug and wane her and break down her mind to become Mischa, his sister. This doesn't work, because of Clarice's sense of self. She is resilient in challenging Lecter, and this maintains. This back and forth, and a range of events furthers her disillusionment with the FBI.
Will Graham is introduced as having this disillusionment towards the FBI, a resentment towards Jack Crawford. Will Graham's sense of self is a conflicting battle that consumes him. The reasons Hannibal goes after Will is different than his reasoning towards Clarice because Hannibal doesn't recognise Will, there's layers of Will's own human suit to chip away. Clarice is respected, Will is a convoluted interest. Hannibal wants to see how much Will can endure, and open him up.
And this surely happens. But Hannibal doesn't want to turn Will into anyone else, he wants Will to recognise himself. So, his abusive behaviours have a different cause than his abusive behaviour towards Clarice because she can call him out, there's a clear power imbalance between Will and Hannibal. When Hannibal drugs Will, sticks Abigail's "ear" down a tube, down his throat: Hannibal's framing Will. Is this to make Will recognise himself? To punish him because of how Hannibal feels towards him? Was it an easy escape? It's probably all three combined.
And Will, he responds and he responds to the point it's an equal measure. People see Clarice's compliance and relationship with Hannibal Lecter to have ruined her character. The cannibalistic dinners and breast feeding seems unlike the Clarice we're introduced to. Her character seems less consistent, and what made her be respected by Hannibal Lecter, for him to say that this world is more interesting with Clarice in it? It feels like she's just following along.
With Will, everything Clarice does: Will would be able to do because he's always been presented as someone with this darkness. If Will kills Bedelia and dines together with Hannibal in Cuba, this wouldn't present itself as a problem. It's both Will and Clarice's endurance and the way they challenge which makes Hannibal love them both as entirely themselves even though this is gradual. But in order to Clannibal to work, Thomas Harris felt as if he had to take away Clarice's character. For Hannigram to work, it can endure as it is. As Clannibal should've.
#hannibal#nbc hannibal#silence of the lambs#essay writing#hannibal lecter#clarice starling#she's so underrated#will graham#clannibal#hannigram#hannibal is actually deranged#but this is a result of getting back into a fandom#thanks Clarissa on tiktok for making me think about this#hannibal is a comedy

characters i‘d love to see as a rocky beach crimes investigator
morton we already know he can do it from tödliche spur, he deals with weird rich people on a day to day basis, there is something there for sure, he‘s classy he‘s sassy, maybe with cotta as backup
kelly we know she‘s an absolute queen & i‘d love to know more about her, bonus points if she‘s investigating with jeffery
onkel titus maybe something involving his past at the circus, his backstory sounds interesting from what we know
cotta but it would have to be outside of his normal police job. maybe he has some time off & somthing happens. something happens and no one at work believes him or maybe something with dirty cops again, would have to heavily feature goodween
monique carrera something in the music & club scene, seems unlikely as she‘s not a „big“ recurring character but i love her & it seems fun
jelena my beloved. we know she has what it takes & she deserves to be the main character, i know he already got a book but would love to see her & skinny interact more i kinda liked their dynamic in toteninsel
lesley always something going on at booksmith, i just like her
allie jamison always some weird shit happening in her life anyway, i think a lot of people really don‘t like her but i do
john william melvin roger „bill“ andrews mainly to investigate whats up with his name, but seriously his job should be enough set up, also dilf
clarissa franklin oh boy what an unpopular opinion but she is an interesting character
honerable mentions:
- august august silly name silly guy main character energy, even though he did kinda piss me of in feuriges auge
- bennington peck fun guy what can i say
- ty cassey canon might have forgotten you but i have not
- brittany another unpopular one ig & i think she‘s in jail but another kinda fun evil girlboss or whatever
- george he‘d be on the list above but already kinda had his moment with reynold but i‘d love to see more
#is this just a list of characters i love (excluding the ones we alrey have books about)? yes it is what will you do about it#die drei fragezeichen#die drei ???#rocky beach crimes#morton#kelly madigan#titus jonas#onkel titus#inspektor cotta#monique carrera#jelena charkov#bill andrews#clarissa franklin

i think for me right now, the appeal of dovesso lies in its understated nature: the acknowledgement that there's something there, the security of the knowledge of it. i think they're a pair who will always be equals, something that doesn't need to be stated to be known. (because isn't that the point of it all? to be equal? to know implicitly that the other is your equal?)
i'm not as much into the grand declarations of love as i was before. i think to a certain extent, my vision of lesso's characterisation stops me from enjoying them so much. (no hate but i keep thinking: would lesso say that?? would she really?? this applies to my old fic as well. would she really say that, come on.)
dovesso, to me, is the small gestures and the small kindnesses that no one talks about. the phrase in chinese i'm thinking of is 潜移默化: the slow and subtle influence someone exerts on you, the change they bring without you noticing. i think there's something romantic in that. to change the other by loving them. to not demand anything else of that love.
#sge#tsfgae#school for good and evil#the school for good and evil#dovesso#clarissa dovey#lady lesso#leonora lesso#ok like. this is motivated by me scrolling through the dovesso tag on ao3 and not finding anything i like..#does anyone see the vision. do you get it.#Would Lesso Really Say That? -> me @ 2021 me#and also to comment on the ao3 trends i'm seeing.. first. when was x reader a thing here??#second. why so many e-rated fics???#like you do you but. damn guys#now i want to write about them </3

Niche questions Clarissa?
a song that reminds me of them: Enchanted, Taylor Swift ( There I was again tonight / Forcing laughter, faking smiles / Same old tired, lonely place / Walls of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy / Vanished when I saw your face / All I can say is, it was enchanting to meet you )
what they smell like: lavender, ink
an otp: Clarissa x Simon
a notp: Clarissa x Nigel
favorite platonic/familial relationships: Clarissa & Colin
a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with: n/a
the position they sleep in: curled up on her side
a crossover au i’d love to see them in: Clarissa & @megdonnellys' Mercy & Marjorie, all of our Clarissa vibes
my favorite outfit they’ve ever worn: she wears this to one of Lady Danbury's married women evenings

"Given the marathon that Jane’s uterus had just been through, it’s likely that her uterus would have a reduced capacity to contract and effectively expel the after-birth contents of her uterus; lengthy labours tend to shred the membranes, especially if, like Jane, her membranes had ruptured early in her labour. I believe that here is where the best intentions again contributed to disastrous consequences. Wanting to ensure the best possible outcome, Henry bucked confinement tradition by inviting male physicians into Jane’s lying-in chamber. While we might see a physician’s help as a good thing, please keep in mind that Tudor era physicians weren’t trained in obstetrics. Had Jane’s immediate postpartum been similar to the above description, a physician would likely not have been well-versed in how to manage it. Had the midwives noticed retained tissue, they probably would have known to remove the offending product, manually if necessary, causing Jane further discomfort. To a Tudor physician, this would have been appalling, and protocol dictated that the physicians had seniority. Had they forbade an intervention, it would not have occurred."
— Dayna Goodchild, Jane Seymour and the Birth of Edward VI: A Midwife's Opinion
#jane seymour#mm ... there's literature about the english reformation's impact on midwifery/matrons#that and jane's status as queen - which goodchild notes as a factor that impacted the treatment she received#it's like clarissa atkinson's point that male authorities ''began to compete with women in traditional female work''#i read one article (icr which now!) which talked about the changing theological discourses around the liturgy for baptism#you definitely see evidence of distrust of midwives/cunning women (previously integrated into the event of childbirth) in communities#and iirc there was increasing distrust of midwives performing baptisms#but at the point of jane's pregnancy i think mary fissell has the right of it:#that england's progression from catholicism to quasi-protestantism ''was accomplished through the reform of women's bodies''#and while i don't think it's the most reliable i liked amy licence's point:#''the story of childbirth during the mid tudor reformation is as much the story of the dissolution of the shrines -#- and the banning of catholic practices and folklore that had formed centuries of female wisdom''
