(DGM AU)
I know I kept the interactions between these two to the Aftermaths mainly and then a ton in the Outtakes which I never published but I adore them so much. With the reveal of who past!Allen truly is my variant became fanon ... I adore this character I have created even though he is far from being canon anymore. I hope a few HCs I have will live on in the true Bookman Jr.
But whatever happens I have my small AU and I enjoy having these moments with the dolls of them.

Good Mourning, All that we see or seem is but a cemetery within a cemetery, or whatever Edgar Allan Poe said. Fast growing as the sycamore, Indianapolis developed and stretched its branches outward, replacing small residential areas with industrial parks. Nestled amongst the residential areas were not only homes, but the family burial plots along with them. In an effort to preserve the smaller pioneering cemeteries, lost to time and industrialization. The Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhoads Cemetery, and Wright-Whitesell-Gentry Cemetery were relocated to the Pioneer Cemetery within Crown Hill, each grave dug the same way they were originally by hand. The Greenlawn Cemetery, established in 1821 was the first cemetery known to exist in Indianapolis, originally located near the White River on the southwest end of Kentucky Avenue. In the year of 1912, over 1,160 pioneers originally buried in Greenlawn Cemetery were moved to Crown Hill. This memorial honors these original citizens of Indianapolis including Colonel Aaron C. Johnson, former Sheriff of Fayette Co. Ohio, Veteran of the War of 1812, Sarah A. Baker, Clarence Cooper, Craighead (four unknown), Mary Francis Cunningham, John Given, W.D., Barbara and Sarah Hanch, Nancy F., Julia P., Infant John and George Hollands, David, Martha R., Mary, John, Moses, John, Rebecca A. Margaret, Martha A. and infants Hunter, John W. and Wife, James M. Johnson, Lawson (two unknown), Lewis (one unknown), Benjamin Orr, Eli, Elizabeth and Mary I. Petticord, George Porter, Phillip, Jenny and one unknown Sponable, Iane and Minnie Wallace, Abner S. West and Benjamin Yates. Wright-Whitesell-Gentry Cemetery, established in 1841. Originally a small cemetery located on the Wright family farm in Lawrence Township. In 2008, twelve adults, fourteen children and seven infants were reburied in their final resting place within Crown Hill Cemetery. Members of the Wright family, headed by the Reverend James T. Wright, founder of the church now known as Castleton United Methodist Church, and extended family members of the Whitesell, Gentry, Easterday and Gates families were buried in the small cemetery with the last burial taking place in 1905. Also interred is Civil War Private John W. Gentry, who served in the 26th Indiana, Co. "I" from March of 1864 until it was disbanded in January 1866. Much like the Greenlawn Cemetery and Wright-Whitesell-Gentry Cemetery, the Rhoads Cemetery was a small cemetery established in 1844. In 1999, twelve adults and thirty-four children of the Rhoads, Rude, Foster, Foltz and Johns families were buried at their final resting site within Crown Hill. Among the identified burials are James Rhoads, died - 1844, Hanna Rhoads died - 1849, Sarah Rhoads died 1857, John Rhoads died - 1860, Emma Rude died - 1862, Willian Rude died - 1866 and William Rhoads died - 1906. Monday Mournings are in loving memory of the dearly departed. By exploring their burial sites we can connect to their lives, continuing to honor their memory so they will not be lost to time. okay i lied i genuinely thought christopher eccleston, ian bohen and david morrissey were in their 30s when they played these roles but i was wrong!!!! they were all 40 years old and up!
ARGUABLY the ninth doctor has old man energy even though eccleston was 40 when he played the role
peter hale felt old to 15-year-old me when i watched it for the first time and i haven't touched teen wolf since high school so in my head he FEELS like an old man even though bohen was also 40 when he played him
colonel brandon ABSOLUTELY has grumpy old man energy even though david morrissey was 41/42.
meanwhile as far as i can tell, every other character in the poll is 40+ (although abner has been frequently headcanoned to just be in his late 30s, dastmalchian was in his late 40s when he played him so the possible range is like... anywhere from 38-50)
misha collins was 34 when he joined supernatural but in his late 40s by the time the show concluded so i think he slides in on a technicality
in conclusion poll canceled, there are no 30 year olds in this bracket after all
i don't think 40-49 year olds are an invasive species in old man blorbos they're actually very common. but i do agree that old really OUGHT to be 50+ but that is not always the case, ALSO once again i first consumed these medias when i was 15-17 so men who were 40-49 felt older than they do as a 25 year old!

Mark Gatiss in Big Finish’s Vortex
Big Finish has put all the issues of their in-house promo magazine Vortex online, so of course I spent an afternoon going through them for Mark Gatiss references. These are the key issues I found:
Issue #86, April 2016 - Mark’s Doctor Who novel Nightshade is adapted. “I think it’s still pretty good. It’s a good idea, I think (they’re rare beasts) and though I think it’s a bit rambling, there’s some good scary stuff in there. I was writing the version of the show I wanted the series to be at the time and I think it holds up okay.”
Issue #87, May 2016 - A feature on voicing Dracula for the adaptation of the same name. (Look at those freckles! Not usually a feature of the character.) “It’s just a wonderful, scary story and, in Dracula, you have one of the great villains. Ancient, infinitely wise, infinitely corrupt – yet finally destroyed by the ingenuity of a few dedicated friends.” “I knew I wanted to give him a Hungarian/Romanian lilt but not do the ‘full Lugosi’ as it were. I was doing a play at the National Theatre at the time of the recording so my voice was very deep and gravelly which worked nicely. I wanted to do the whole thing very close to the microphone.Powerful people don’t have to raise their voice...”
Issue #90, August 2016 - A mention of Mark playing the Master (as Sam Kisgart) for a Bernice Summerfield project. (Where the chair picture comes from!)
Issue #103, September 2017 - Another Bernice Summerfield release, again with quotes from Mark as the Master, against David Warner as the Doctor.
Issue #132, February 2020 - A feature on Dracula’s Guests, starring Mark. “I missed having the whole cast this time as I had to record most of my new bits alone. But it was lovely to be back at Big Finish in its anniversary year – 20 years after first recording The Sirens of Time and Phantasmagoria!” Ian Hallard also has a role in the project.
Issue #138, August 2020 - A feature on Dracula’s War, completing the trilogy. No quotes from Mark, just the picture above, which reminds me of a mug shot.
Issue #145, March 2021 - Mark is part of the Dalek Universe box set. No quotes, just the home recording picture above.
Issue #148, June 2021 - Working on The Box of Delights. The director says, “It was only when I was chatting to Mark Gatiss about something entirely unrelated and discovered he was a monumental The Box of Delights fan that the decision was made: Derek [Jacobi] would play the good wizard and Mark the bad. Their performances are the bedrock of the story and they both excelled themselves.”
From Mark: “There’s something special about The Box of Delights, it is so beautiful it makes your hair stand on end. The whole tale and the ideas in it have such magic to them. And Abner’s a great part. The idea of a corrupt magician posing as a clergyman... it’s weird and mystical and then also villainous. What can I say? It’s why you do it!”

OC PROFILE (UPDATED): REBECA ROSENFELD
UNIVERSE: NICHOLAS AND ALEXANDRA (1971)
FACE CANON: MIRIAM MARGOLYES
@princesssarisa @sunlit-music @mademoiselle-princesse @amalthea9 @lieutenant-hel-odinsdottir @hmmm-what-am-i-doing @metropolitan-mutant-of-ark @superkingofpriderock
*Note: A year ago, i watched the british epic movie Nicholas and Alexandra, from 1971, wich was about the downfall of the Romanoff dinasty.
In it, Sir Ian Holm makes a cameo as Comissary Yakovlev, a calm, orderly and witty officer of the Revolutionary Bolshevik Goverment who is entrusted to take Tsar Nicholas for trial in Moscow (but is prevented of accomplishing this goal by some of his own party colleagues in Ekaterinburg, who intercept the Romanoffs along the way during voyage).
Yakovlev’s personality left me quite smitten, so my mind started to imagine an OC to couple with him. Detaille that i tought that he was a fictional character invented for the movie, but later i learned that he was a real person. Still, since his actor was very phisically different from the real life personality, and the movie didn’t went into detailles about him, i treat this Yakovlev as more of a fictionalized character inspired on a real person, like the characters of Shakespeare’s History Plays.
A woman of jewish origin born and raised on a village in Yekaterinburg, Rebeca works as a shoemaker, and is thrying to keep a family formed by her old father, Abner (who teached her how to make shoes when she was seven years old) and two young sisters, Noemi, who works making shoes alongside her, and Lilia, who is training to become a midwife.
Having experienced the tragedies of seeing her father been bitten till permanente blindness by a soldier of the Tzar (cossack) and loosing her mother, Sarah, to ilness at the age of sixteen, Rebeca developed a practical, but pessimistic, temperment.
One year after the Tzar’s fall, at the age of twenty six, she has the first encounter with the man who will become her husband:
After being stopped at Yekaterinburg, Comissary Yakovlev camps there with his companions, and takes some of their boots to get fixed. He gets the services of Rebeca, recomended by a milkman who was his guide to the village, and she gets surprised by the fact that he immediately pays her the fair price of the jobb (instead of trying to bargain for a low price) and doesn’t mistreat her for being jewish.
They talk a bit, and get friends. When the time arrives for Yakovlev to return to Moscow, he promisses to write back for Rebeca, but she doesn’t believe him.
To her surprise, Yakovlev really sends her letters, and Rebeca and her sisters (who believe in the possibility of a romantic relantionship between the two) write answers back.
This correspondence lasts for months.
One day, it arrives one letter of Yakovlev asking Rebeca to marry him. The answer she sends is one of skepticism about a Gói (non-jew) wanting to marry a jewish woman.
To Rebeca’s surprise, Yakovlev arrives personally at her village in Yekaterinburg, and they have a conversation in wich he remembers she also didn’t believed that he would write back to her, and after a very long talk, Yakovlev convinces Rebeca to go with him to Moscow, bringing along her family, and mary him in a civilian cerimony.
Rebeca’s old father isn’t very happy with the fact of her marrying in a civilian instead of religious cerimony (and with a Góy for that matter), but since its him who depends on her, he doesn’t really have a power to veto Rebeca’s decision.
After the move to Moscow and their marriage, Yakovlev tries to convince Rebeca to leave behind her job as a shoemaker, but she chooses to keep it, based on the ground that the future of a officer from a recently risen revolutionary goverment is uncertain.
He presents her to his bolshevik parties companion, and while their ideas sound very complex and new to her more shy and simple mind, she gets along well with the jewish members of the party, particularlly the wimen, and has some respect and admiration for Leon Trótski. But at the same time, she perceives the internalized anti-semitism in a lot of the other non-jewish members, and keeps distance of them, fearing Joseph Stálin in particular.
Passed one year of marriage, Rebeca’s father dies of old age, and Yakovlev is summoned to serve on battlefield during the Russian Civil War. While processing her grief and waiting for her husband’s return, Rebeca discovers her first pregnancy, but miscarries within a few weeks of it. One year latter, after Yakovlev returns back home, Rebeca gets pregnant again, and this time (with her husband giving her double attention and care, convincing her to stop working during the nine months of gestation), she has a son, who its called Liev, born in October 25th of 1920, the third aniversary of the October Revolution. Three years later, in September 13th of 1923, Rebeca gives birth to her second child, a daughter named Leah.
In early 1924, after the death of Lenin, Rebeca fears that the political dispute between Trotski and Stalin ends badly for jews like her, her sisters and her children, so she has a conversation with Yakovlev about the family leaving Russia.
First he tries to convince Rebeca to let all family stay, them to leave with her sisters and their children while he stays behind to continue his work as an officer, and them Rebeca finally convinces him that they must leave together.
With some help from allies of Trotski, Rebeca and Yakovlev’s family cross the borders with Lituania, and them from there they take a ship to Argentina.
And there they live a happy and more or less stable life, seeing the internal political conflicts of Argentina while acompanying the news that arrive from Russia about the rising of the stalinist regime and of nazi fascism in the rest of Europe…

MAZEL TOV!
(A Comissary Yakovlev x Rebeca Rosenfeld fanfiction)
FANDOM: Nicholas and Alexandra 1971
A fanfic describing the wedding of my Comissary Yakovlev with my OC, Rebeca Rosenfeld.
@amalthea9 @princesssarisa @mademoiselle-princesse @superkingofpriderock @lioness--hart @hmmm-what-am-i-doing
Two weeks had passed...
Now, Rebeca was seeing herself in the mirror, while her sisters brushed her hair.
Aunt Masha had taught her about the charm of, in the wedding day, wearing something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, to have luck and happines in her married life.
Her mother’s wedding dress was the something new.
Blue and new was the ribbon that she was wearing in her hair, tyed in a coque.
And borrowed by Hannah were a pair of nacre earings and a silver brooch.
She was about to cover her face with the white veil, when she heard steps entering the bedroom.
Rebeca turned her back, and saw that it was her father, entering with extended hands.
-How does the dress is on you, daughter?
Rebeca camed close to her father, and he delicately touched the veil behind he head, and the fabric that involved her shoulders and arms.
Old Abner smiled, and letted a tear fall, while he sayed:
-You are beautifull. Like your mother, in our wedding day.
Rebeca, also smiling and starting to cry, answered:
-I wished that Mami was here.
Old Abner responded:
-I know, that wherever my Sarah is, she is watching you and praying to God for your hapness.
At this moment, Aunt Masha got up and asked:
-Now, good old Abner, what do you think if us two give our arms to our *devushka to the registter’s office?
Old Abner nodded with his head.
At the office, Yakovlev was on his foot, in front of the peace judge, wearing his boots, black pants and a blue *kosovorotka, waiting for the arrival of Rebeca and his family. At his side, there were his friends Dr. Ivan, also wearing boots, combined with blue pants and a white *kosovorotka, and the photographer Benjamin, wearing black shoes and a black pants, tux and tye combination.
-Are you nervous?
Asked Ivan to Yakovlev, who answered:
-Happy.
First, camed Hannah, who stayed at her husband Ivan’s side. She weared a purple dress.
Them, camed Yakovlev’s younger sister, Sophia, alongside Noemi and Lilia, Rebeca’s younger sisters.
Sophia was wearing a blue dress, in a tone close to the kosorovotka of her older brother. She stood by her friend Benjamin’s side.
Noemi weared a red dress and was holding and old cup made of clay alongside a piece of white fabric, while Lilia weared a yellow dress.
Them camed Rebeca, holding arms with Aunt Masha, who weared a magenta dress, and her father Old Abner, wearing black pants and suit, with no tye, and a black *kippah on his head that he always reserved for special ocasions.
They brought Rebeca to her groom, who offered his hand to her.
Aunt Masha sitted alongside the other ladies, while Old Abner followed soon after kissing the forehead of his older daughter and say to Yakovlev:
-Always look after her.
-I will, Mr. Rosenfeld.
Answered Yakovlev to him.
As soon as the old man sitted down, Yakovlev and Rebeca turned their faces to the peace judge, who asked:
-Before i start the ceremony, i need to ask if there is anyone who oposes the celebration of this matrimony.
-If there was someone, we kicked him out!
Exclaimed Aunt Masha from her chair, making everybody laugh.
-Them, let’s start. First, the age of the bride.
Rebeca answered:
-26.
The peace judge now turned to Yakovlev:
-Now, the age of the groom.
Yakovlev answered:
-36.
The officer turned his face back to Rebeca:
-Rebeca Rosenfeld, do you accept *Mikhail Sergeyevich Yakovlev as your expouse?
-I do.
Answered Rebeca, looking at Yakovlev with a smile.
The officer them turned back to Yakovlev:
-*Mikhail Sergeyevich Yakovlev, do you accept Rebeca Rosenfeld as your wife?
-I do.
Answered Yakovlev, smiling back at Rebeca.
The peace judge extended a pen to the couple:
-Now sign the papers, please. And them pass the papers to the testimonys.
Rebeca and Yakovlev signed the wedding papers, and them they passed the pen for Hannah, Ivan, Benjamin and Sophia, to sign their roles as testimonys.
-Noemi. Lilia. Aunt Masha. Come sign as well.
Called Sophia. The three ladies camed and signed.
The peace judge them sayed, to finish:
-Now, for the power to me invested, i declare you both, now married.
Just as he sayed that, Noemi raised her hand, where she holded the cup of clay, and sayed:
-Before you two kiss, i would like to ask to the groom to break this cup with his foot. This is a tradition of our people, to remind us of the fall of the Temple of Israel.
-I will be honored, Noemi.
Exclaimed Yakovlev.
While Noemi covered the cup in the piece of fabric she brought, Aunt Masha sayed a few words:
-The holly book has sayed: “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself”.
Yakovlev asked, looking at Rebeca’s face:
-And who is my neighbour?
-Is me.
Sayed Rebeca to Yakovlev, who answered, while the veil away from her face:
-I love you.
Noemi putted the rolled cup on the floor, and her now brother in law broked in it with his foot, while her and Lilia exclaimed raising their arms to the air:
-Mazel tov!
And them, Yakovlev holded Rebeca by the waist, and raised and turned her around, while exclaiming in joy:
-My wife!
Before finally kissing her, who hugged his shoulders.
NOTES
*Devoushka is ‘girl’ in russian.
*Kosorovota is the traditional russian male shirt
*Kippah is the traditional jewish male small hat.
*I chosed to use Mikhail Sergeyevich as Yakovlev’s first two names as an homage to two Anton Chekhov characters that Sir Ian Holm has played: Michael L. Khrushchev in The Wood Demon and Peter Sergeyevich Trofimov, from the Cherry Orchard.
The music that i imagine to be the theme of this story is this one:

A number of (very stupid) Dr. Who head-cannons.
Half-Human on his mothers side, half-human on his fathers side, all human.
Possibly born on an island off the coast of Ireland.
From a large family, has a number of siblings and a frankly improbable number of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
His eldest brother works at the national gallery, rumors abound that he is the curator for a secret wing that houses artifacts that conflict with established history.
During his youth he spent a number of years as Professor Edward Travers research assistant. During this time they encountered an unknown force in Tibet. The experience was a formative moment for the young Who.
Adopted Susan and Barbra following the tragic death of their parents, these events alongside the passing of his wife are often believed to have inspired his time-travel experiments. In actual fact Dr. Who’s obsession with Time-Travel dates back to his childhood, though it should be noted that Susan was the key driving force behind the Tardis finally being constructed.
Served with the Royal Navy during the second world war, during this time he befriended a number of people, including Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart. Many would note Stewart’s uncanny resemblance to Christopher Lee.
Following the war he spent a number of years traveling the globe, during this time he shared an alarming conversation with an amnesiac who he would latter remark “was lost in more ways than one.”
Following their initial adventure in the Tardis, it took a number of months for the Doctor to actually learn to fly the ship. During this time he took to treating the machine as if it were inhabited by some benign intelligence. While his granddaughters and the perpetually bewildered Ian Chesterton wrote it off as the eccentricities of an old-man it seemingly worked and the group would be returned only a few moments after they had left.
While his adventures during 60s were defined by various encounters with the Daleks, the 1970s would see the good Doctor come into conflict with Victor Magister, a former classmate and defrocked priest turned occultist, who believed that the Tardis held the key to freeing his demonic gods.
Knows the dark secret behind the Sugarpuff Monster.
The initial encounter with Magister saw the Doctor and Susan lured to the remote town of Devil’s End in a bid to awake the sleeping forces beneath the local church. During this adventure Who would become reacquainted with the Lethbridge-Stewart, now heading a U.N. special investigation unit. Both they and a local coven of “white witches” -led by Olive Hawthorne and her apprentice Jo Grant- were incremental in foiling Magister’s schemes. Grant would go on to share a number of adventures with the Doctor and Susan.
While he respectfully declined Lethbridge-Stewart's offer of a permanent “scientific advisor” position he did recommend the services of one Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, a young scientist who’s radical theories had effectively disbarred her from most jobs.
Victor Magister in no way resembles popular horror icon Vincent Price.
As Susan began to focus on secondary and higher education, Who took to traveling on his own. During one of these jaunts he became trapped in the 19th century for a number of years, adopting the alias of Dr. Abner Perry he charted at expedition to the center of the earth in a bid to acquire rare materials essential to restoring the Tardis.
During this expedition Who and his ally, Doug McClure, encountered a pre-human civilization known variously as the Mahar, Silurians or more accurately Eocenes. Who and McClure would unite various primitive human tribes inhabiting their lush subterranean world, aiding the warrior woman Dia in ousting the viscous despots.
Knows who the enemy is.
Following this adventure the duo would foil Victor Magister’s plans to assassinate President Ulysses S. Grant. This would result in Magister becoming heavily burned. Following this, Who successfully restored the Tardis to working order and returned to the present day.
By the mid 70s Who was the chairperson of a club of like-minded individuals. The group consisted of ; Anne Travers, Trevor Watkins, Lorrimer Van Helsing, Rachel Jensen, Mortimus Bertram, Brian Stanley, Bernard Quatermass, Sally Armstrong, John Rollason and Elizabeth Shaw.
At the age of 18 Susan would acquire her own Doctorate in the field of quantum mechanics. Having avoided Tardis travel for a number of years she would once again take up traveling with her grandfather, the two Doctors Who would go on to have a number of adventures.
By the late 80s Who left most of the Tardis adventuring to his granddaughter, however still young at heart he took to hosting small lectures from the comfort of his home, befriending the young Dorothy McShane, Who would strongly hint that his granddaughter should take her on as a companion.
