The Khan’s are just PHENOMENAL. They’re so warm and vibrant and hysterical in all the best ways. The MCU is absent/shitty/dead/evil-parent-and-complicated-family central, theres too much familial feuding at times, whether that family is blood or adopted or found, so I am LIVING for and LOVING how the Khan’s are just so normal and ordinary and wonderful. It’s no wonder Kamala has such a can-do, confident, positive attitude. It’s no wonder she’s such a dreamer and proudly herself and so damn funny when she’s surrounded by so much love and encouragement. Kamala Khan and the fam need to be in more Marvel movies, their dynamic is just joyous and healing and I will NOT tolerate another Aunt May incident. I WILL NOT. I swear if anything happens to ANY of them-

Honestly, Kamala’s family probably helped a lot so them being so emotionally healthy and responsible. The Khan family is so blessedly normal and kind and supportive.

Muneeba loves her daughter and asks the right questions about what’s going on while being wholly unimpressed by both Carol Danvers and Nick Fury. She will also threaten murder if something happens to her daughter. (She’s my favorite.)

Yusuf is such a Dad. He’s out here giving retirement savings advice to a 300 year old Asgardian. They’re on a literal space station surrounded by advance technology and aliens, and he’s concerned that people up there don’t have adequate financial literacy.

Aamir straight-up tells his sister not to die because he doesn’t want to be an only child again. Granted, it’s also a funny commentary about their parents, but it’s also great sibling banter. (Also, we love a guy who calls his wife to say he’s going to be getting home late because he kinda wound up in space by accident. It’s the little things that count.)

And you can’t tell me that Carol wasn’t functionally adopted by the Khans at the end. Muneeba is definitely making the trip to Louisiana from Jersey City a couple times a month to make sure Carol has enough food. Carol also has a standing open invitation to the Khans’ house whenever she’s in the neighborhood. (Monica will too, when she gets back from being away.)

Carol probably also stops by periodically with Goose to visit the Khans and the Flerkens they adopted. They probably wound up with at least eight. (They’re good home security.) It becomes a running gag that anyone who drops by when she’s there is flabbergasted by what’s going on. (Carol is simultaneously getting great life advice from Yusuf and getting cooking instructions from Muneeba while Aamir and Kamala are including her in normal sibling banter.)

The Marvels trio consists of an amnesiac woman with PTSD, an overworked astronaut with major emotional trauma and a sixteen-year-old forced to confront the horrors of war when she should be fighting low-level crime at most. How the FUCK are they the most emotionally healthy and responsible team in the MCU.

Not people talking about Carol adopting Kamala. Baby the Khan's adopted Carol if anything. They were literally helping Carol move house in the last scene. Carol was alone. And if anything Kamala has promised that she will be there for Carol from now on.

This is soo good. Not written by me but the characterization is 11/10 not to share. It explores that window of time between Carol fixing Hala and the Khan's helping her move. Featuring Fury leaving Goose with Kamala so Carol would be forced to face her before thinking of running away. Kamala basically treating Carol like a wounded wild animal (in a good way). And Muneeba being the mom Carol never had....and sort of still needs.

It doesn’t make it any easier to watch as Carol takes a halting, unsteady step forward, and then another. Kamala makes a face. “Maybe you should sit d—”

“I’m getting out of your hair, don’t worry,” Carol speaks over her determinedly. “I’m sure you and your family have a lot to catch up on, and you really deserve a break.” She smiles at Kamala, brittle and exhausted.

Kamala glances over her shoulder, belatedly surprised to find the landing empty — no doubt Aamir, in an unexpected show of brotherly solidarity, is holding their parents back, possibly bodily, from making it out the door.
