Hi!! I have a request for a little! Rio fic! It's a little bit angsty but can you write one where Rio regresses pretty small and just wants her mama, even though she's a ghostie now? Maybe it's after the scene where she tells Billy he may go and after he's gone, she just slips and wants her mama so bad.

Since the beginning of time Rio had presided over earth. She’d experienced life and death and everything in between a trillion times and would go on to do so an infinite number of times more. She’d seen people laugh and cry, fall in and out of love, kill each other, kill themselves. She’d been the face of fear and the hand of death to every being that’d ever existed yet somehow nothing had hurt as much as this.

As Rio stood in the dark, windy, yard, accompanied only by the flowers bloomed by her own hand, she realised for the first time the finality of death. Agatha was gone. As the younger witch had requested she hadn’t seen Rio’s face as she crossed over, and Rio hadn’t seen hers in return. She’d spent the better half of her existence loving Agatha, and a fair bit of that watching her from a distance like a lost puppy. But now there was no one to love, no one to watch. No Mama. Just Rio.

It was fitting that death was the last one standing at the end of the road. She always was. Death couldn’t cry, couldn't feel such a pitiful human emotion as grief. But somehow she did, every death she’d played a role in since the beginning of time could not compete with the pain this one death forged in her soul. There was no one around anymore, no one to keep her mask up for.

Rio began to regress, her mind growing fuzzy to block out the pain burrowing in her chest. Why was it burning there? Death didn’t have a heart. She sunk to the ground, soft moss engulfing her skeletal knees. She dreamed of a forest far, far away. One with moss just as soft and flowers twice as bright. A home she’d once shared with Agatha, a cottage in the middle of isolation where she’d thought she could live for the rest of eternity, small and safe. At the beginning of time, Rio had thought death was home, that bringing a soul to her realm was bringing them home, but now Agatha was dead and Rio still ached to take her home. Not to the land of souls that were at peace or weeping, but to the little forest with a cottage where they could just be Mama and baby.

Rio wept, though no tears came from her darkened eyes, her chest heaved and her bones rattled. She erupted with choking sounds, strangulated sobs which ached for a comfort they would never again receive. Words slipped through her lips though they fell on deaf ears. Mama. Please, I’m sorry. I want to go home. I need you. But there was no one here, there never would be again.

She dropped her face down by her knees, pressing her forehead into the dirt and moss. Death saw and heard more prayers than any god, but Rio had no god to pray to. She cried to the ground, to the flowers. Allowing her muffled sobs to echo through the soil until she couldn’t tell what was hers anymore. Her words only grew further entangled, coming out wobbly and childlike. Mama. Mama. Mama.

What was there in the world if there wasn’t Mama?

The worst part of it all was that Rio knew Agatha was out there somewhere. That if she hadn’t taken her soul it meant that her Mama wasn’t truly gone. Just hiding from her as promised. Agatha wanted nothing more to do with Rio, but Rio still needed her Mama.

Age Regressor!Hunter Headcanons

He’d always wished he could do more childish things back when he worked for Belos, and yearned for simple things like toys. It was only when he found a book about childhood trauma and it’s psychological affects, did he find the coping mechanism.

He was embarrassed to try it out but it became (almost) easy to him, as it was what he was already doing but with extra steps.

He involuntarily and voluntarily regresses, and started doing it more often when he joined Luz and her friends.

When he involuntarily regresses it’s rough. He has to be held and talk to for at least half an hour, sometimes up to two hours. He rocks back and forth and hugs his knees very tightly while trying to ground himself. Once he’s decent, he’ll still be sniffling for a long time.

When it’s voluntary he loves to giggle and play with everything he can. Although he has a few comfort items, he loves to go explore as that was limited in his time with the Emperor’s Coven.

He regresses to around 1-5 typically.

He absolutely loves to babble when he isn’t shy anymore; when he’s completely comfortable he’ll draw and show his picture to whoever is babysitting him.

His favorite activity is movie nights, even though he loves to babble he prefers to be quiet and be sleepy.

Hunter also loves praise and tries to help his cg/babysitter with whatever they’re doing. Cooking? He’s putting water in the pot. Cleaning? He’s clumsily sweeping the floors.

He has a stuffed bird for when he misses flapjack. But while flapjack was alive? The bird would sit on his shoulder the entire time he was little, and would occasionally bring him small toys.

I think Willow would be his CG while they were in the human realm (along with Camila) but after they return Darius would be his full-time CG and Willow would be his secondary one.

Him and Amity didn’t connect well for a long time, but now they have little play dates together and trade stickers.

Hunter likes to paw at blankets as if he’s a wolf, and curls up in forts he makes like his favorite animal.

Things do get better.

Life can be cruel and unforgiving, like a writer killing off the most beloved characters and making everyone suffer through a lot. Yet every bad moment eventually shall pass.

We don't stop reading a book, just because the writer made things seem grim for a bit. We shouldn't stop living just because we're afraid it'll get worse.

Things can go badly, sure, but they can also turn out for the better. You can also survive.

Even giving up for a day, a month, a year, does not mean your life is not worth living.

It doesn't mean you're gonna be stuck here forever. It just means that for now, maybe for a long time now, things have been rough.

And you need a break, and a hug.

And someone to tell you, that you are very much loved, even if Life (as the most bitter and inspired writer) has decided to take it out on you.

You are loved, you're not weird, and you deserve good, beautiful, lovely things.

If youre still doing Hatchetfield stuff, do you have any age regression Ted Spankoffski headcanons? Either as a regressor or a caregiver tbh (tho personally i believe regression could save him but thats just me XD)

hm.. i didn't before but ive been thinking about it and i can come up with some!! but anon i would love to hear your headcanons!! (/gen) but i will try to do both in little lists :-]

regressor!ted headcanons:

a bigger kid, about 8-12

his regression is veeery secretive, nobody knows about it and he is more than okay keeping it that way

his regression is involuntary i think

occasionally this means he will be regressed at very inconvenient times, like a ccrp technical meeting, but he's good at hiding it

the only way someone might pick up on his regression is that he's a little quieter than usual and a whole lot less crude

if he did tell anyone though, it would probably be charlotte– and i think she would have to bring it up first and be a little insistent on discussing it because no way ted is bringing that up on his own

he doesn't do a lot of "typical" regressor activities, like coloring or playing, but he does like watching shows he enjoyed when he was actually a kid

caregiver!ted headcanons:

he's like a mix of a dad and a brother, i think it depends on the regressor he's looking after

suuuper relaxed about rules and stuff, he doesn't like rules so why would he enforce them? just don't get hurt and he's fine

he may be aloof but he does care and he will try to show it

i don't think he would initiate any activities with a regressor but he will join in if asked

he would also keep any drawing a regressor made for him– just tucked away in his bedroom, he doesn't necessity want anyone to see but he does want the regressor he's looking after to know he likes it

as hard as it may be, he does lay off the vulgar language and innuendo when around someone that he knows is regressed + he'll try and keep them away from situations where they'll hear stuff like that if he can help it
