The following is a list of BNHA plot elements, in no specific order, that are still unresolved at current chapter (or, at least, that I consider unresolved).

This post is totally open to suggestion :D

1. How did Shigaraki solve to put Star and Stripe's quirk "New Order" under control? > Solved in vol. 34: New Order dissolved on itself but it caused Tenko to regain some level of consciousness > And in chapter 413 S&S's embers in AFO were able to reach both All Might itself and Yagi's vestige to let them know about the only weakness existing in Shigaraki, and I LOVE this turn of events.

2. Why did AFO do all of this? What are his reasons and origin? > We got his reasons in chapters 407-408 but I'm not totally convinced that he chose an apprentice just for the sake of having a new body

3. Will Deku be able to reach Tenko?

4. Who is going to survive? At the moment I think these are the name at risk right now:

OPTIONAL STUFF

1. How was it possible for Yoichi to pass OFA to the second user? (i.e. how did he realize that he could pass his quirk?) > I'm not crossing this one out for we still don't have an explanation from Yoichi's perspective; however in chapter 408 is suggested that it happened the day Yoichi died and Kudoh has felt off ever since. I want to add that we don't know of any organic exchange from Yoichi to Kudoh, my opinion about it below.

2. Is Deku's father ever going to make an appearance? I know, I know that, aat this late point in the story, he can only be either AFO himself or noone interesting, but still, why did Horikoshi mentioned that Izuku's father would appear at some point in the story? Did he change his mind?

3. Is this picture ever going to make sense?

For further explanation, this seems to be a partial picture that was present at a BNHA exposition in Japan but, to my knowledge, does not have an explanation. > The full art, however, showed Aoyama, so it might be a hint about Aoyama's role? I'm not convinced and therefore I'm keeping this point active.

4. Why AFO needed Shigaraki's hatred? (Rif. chapter 311. For further explenation see section "Open theories", n. 3) > In chapter 410 it seems that Shigaraki is now able to steal, if not the whole OFA, at least singular quirks in it but it stays unexplained how or why.

5. Are we going to see Deku and Bakugo face each other one last time?

OPEN THEORIES (that I enjoy or consider interesting for some reason)

1. Dad for one (alias All for one is actually Deku's father) > With the flashback we had in chapter 407-408, it seems to me that, even though it is possible that AFO had intercourse with women, I just can't see him actually marry someone, and Inko mentioned her "husband" while discussing Izuku's lack of quirk; however, it is still possible that she called him that way just for the sake of appearences or that they actually married for some reason. I don't know, I really don't like this theory but I understand the appeal of it.

2. Decay is not Shimura Tenko's original quirk > Again, AFO's death in 410 might cross this one out but I'm still suspicious about the man in 235 that brought Tenko back home.

3. Shigaraki can actually take One for All quirk without Deku's will > confirmed in chapter 410, even though we still don't know how or why.

4. Deku is suppressing his emotions > Pikahlua wrote an amazing perfect explanation about this theory and I'm convinced they're right.

5. Two for one (alias One for all is passed on both Izuku & Katsuki) (404) > I think we can call this one discarded.

6. AFO is (related to) the Luminescent baby (405) > Confirmed in 407 and even though I said I was not a fan of this one, AFO stealing his quirk out of crave makes much more sense than and I love it.

7. Izuku will replace OFA with:

7a. His own personal quirk that, similarly to Yoichi's one, was so unformed to be practically useless but grew up thanks to OFA. 7a-i. If we believe the DFA theory, his quirk might be either an evolution of AFO

7b. New Order (412) and it has to do with Star & Stripe arm > New Order is confirmed destroyed in chapter 413

7c. Nothing, he'll go quirkless again. (This is the only one I actually like) 7c-i. But his use of OFA has already created a vestige in OFA and Kudoh is planning to let Shigaraki steal OFA in order to gain access to Tenko's memory and finally start to connect with is soul and therefore to save him. > partly confirmed in 413, the only difference being that Kudoh actually plans to smash Shigaraki with OFA. 7c-ii. But, following the empty glass/full glass theory, Shigaraki won't be able to keep it for too long, without facing problem (like the 4th dying of old age at 40). >

8.OFA only transfer out of will, while hair or any other organic material just served to picture the passage in one's mind. I decided to delete the whole reasoning behind this idea but you can still read it in my chapter 412 update.

8a. As an alternative possible explanation, since OFA started stocking extrapower and multiple quirks, even though at the beginning a physical transfer was not required, it eventually became mandatory. (Like, email can only have attachment up to N Mb, in order to transfer bigger file you need a physical drive).

Later in the day, the sun was still shining in Aoyama as Tomi had returned back to the Chōten estate to change clothes and hopefully catch a short respite from the number of birthday galas and soirées in his honor that he had to attend, it wasn’t even nightfall and the socialite was already exhausted. It was just the exact same thing over and over and if it didn’t cost him his reputation and family legacy, Tomi would have long since told the people who were clearly trying to mooch off him to fuck off. But of course, he couldn’t and so the cycle continues…

But enough of that, right now Tomi opened the door to his room with the intention to shower and switch into a new outfit before going back out and attending more parties dedicated to him. At least that was the plan before he stopped short when he noticed a medium sized black and gold colored present sitting prettily on his bed which made the socialite immediately raised an eyebrow, skeptical. Hino said nothing about any gifts when he came back and as sad as it was, he doubt his parents would make much an effort to get him something if it didn’t involve them bragging about it to their peers.

Stepping closer to the gift, he looked around it to see if there was any sort of card or letter from the sender but there was unfortunately nothing. Sighing, Tomi knew that he didn’t have time to play guess who with the present and decided to move it himself, he could always see who sent it later if he didn’t forget. That was his biggest mistake.

As soon as he held the box in his hand, it was as if a timer had gone off and poor Tomi didn’t have the chance to process anything before his world became a whirlwind of sparkles.

It had taken Tomi a minute to process what had just happened and become aware of how he was now on the floor, a loud ringing in his ears, a dull pain in the back of his head, and absolutely covered in glitter and some foul smelling slime that climbed to him. He slowly sat up, discombobulated and looked around before his eyes settled on the so called “gift” in front of him, as if adding insult to injury, it started playing a music box version of “pop goes the weasel” and much like a Jack-in-the-box, a giant, sparkly middle finger popped out of the box and a distorted voice sang the last chorus of the song.

“HaaPpY BiRThdAy aSShOLe”

As the 'bang' went off, Hino, who had just been outside the young master's room, betrayed proper decorum and hastily opened the door. In all his years as a butler, he had come across many things. He had been with the Chōten family for a large amount of time and had borne witness to a number of strange occurrences, both inside and outside of the family mansion.

...But even he was not prepared to see the Young Master Tomi, lying on his bedroom floor covered in what appeared to be glitter and slime. To make matters worse, it seemed to cover the majority of his room. From his carpet, to his bed, to his dressers, to the ceiling, to everything. The old butler looked at what might have caused this wild and strange thing to happen. His perceptive eyes caught hold of the small box and gold box, which now displayed a giant middle finger made out of glitter.

Tomi, meanwhile, was still staring at the ceiling, wondering what the heck just happened. As his senses slowly came back to him, he sat up and looked at the "present" that was bestowed upon him. He stared at it for a couple of seconds, his eyes wide as he was feeling a multitude of emotions right now. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Hino-san, staring at him in awe and shock. Neither said a word for a while until Hino opened his mouth to speak.

"...Young Master?"

"...Hino-san..." Tomi said, his voice dangerously low as he was no doubt having trouble controlling himself.

"Yes, Young Master?"

"...Have the servants prepare me a bath immediately. And then have them clean up this mess."

"Yes, Young Master," Hino said, bowing.

"And after you've done that, call the Tokyo Police Department and have them arrest that rotten miscreant from Shinagawa at once. And after they've done that, have them throw her in the deepest, darkest cell that they can possibly find so I can never see her or think of her again!"

"...I will see to it immediately, Young Master," Hino said, bowing once more before preparing to leave.

"One last thing, Hino-san," Tomi said, stopping the old butler.

"Yes, Young Master?"

The old butler then looked as the young socialite pointed to his "present".

"Get this horrid thing out of my sight at once!"

BakuSero mythology AU

People are everywhere, getting the last of the preparations done for the big night, Acropolis as lively as ever. Demigods and Demigoddesses are getting last minute changes to their presentations.

Katsuki is standing next to Kyoka as they rehearse one last time the song they prepared for the night, Toru helping them to match the soft beat of the melody with the dance moves. Others are looking at them from the sides of the Odeon, clapping and cheering, and smiling as the children of Apollo bring life to the dark stage.

Hanta is one of the spectators, he’s backstage, his tunic being pinned into place by Aoyama, who’s also adding the last details to it.

“This year’s presentation looks like it’ll be the best of them all, everyone’s doing such a good job…” he says as his eyes follow the blond dancing through the stage, mesmerized by the way the tunic flows with him.

“I could do a good job if you could stop moving so much.” to prove his point, Aoyama pinches Hanta’s waist making him jump in surprise.

“Sorry.”

It’s time for the children of Dionysus to rehearse one last time, the sun is already low, meaning there’s not much time left for the festival to begin. Hanta steps on stage and after a final count, they get started, his lines and steps memorized.

Katsuki is now sitting in the middle rows with Toru, both eating something as they wait for the last group to rehearse. Hanta appears in front of him, the golden specs of his diadem lost in wild inky locks, Katsuki can’t take his eyes off of him, of how he seems to fly up there on stage, he feels the confidence oozing off of the tall boy.

“You could give me your fruit back if you prefer to eat the boy over there.” Toru’s voice scares him, not like he will admit that to her face.

“Shut up.”

By sunset, the rest of the Demigods appear one by one, behind every group walks their respective God or Goddess. Hanta sees Denki walking in front of the group of daughters with Shoto, Aphrodite gathering all her children together close to the pond.

Katsuki wishes the earth could swallow him when Izuku and Eijiro seem to forget where they are and start calling his name as they wave around their spears carelessly, next to him, Jiro is trying not to laugh as they accidentally poke each other.

Blue lanterns adorn the way up to the Parthenon, where the Gods and Goddesses of the Olympus sit comfortably.

Hanta is nervous, the blond boy is sitting on the floor with the rest of Apollo’s children, red eyes glowing with the added lighting the stage has. Those eyes are following him, he realizes, are following his moves across the stage as he speaks loudly, moves boldly and dives his all on stage until he’s left with hurt feet and a smile so bright his cheeks hurt.

He’s tired, but everything’s worth it when everyone cheers for them, everyone on stage bows, thanking everyone before getting off and back to their place, sitting by the sides of the Odeon.

Katsuki doesn’t think he’s been this ready and excited to perform since he was just a child, the music resonates deep inside of him, his feet feel light against wood and marble. It’s while he jumps, prepared to do a pirouette, that he briefly meets black eyes that seem to be focused on him and only him.

Good.

Katsuki falls gracefully and everyone applauds him.

After that, Momo reads a few poems and Iida guides everyone without issues to the dining hall. Friends sitting together and the Gods all gathered at the table set in front of everyone else.

Hanta wants to talk to the stranger, he sees him being dragged by two of Ares’ sons, but he’s whisked away by his own friends a few tables further from them.

Per tradition, with their glasses raised high, everyone sings until the rhythm is lost between laughs and hiccups. Denki has his arm around Hanta’s shoulders as they get up for the final toast, cheers fall into deaf ears as Hanta’s attention has gone completely to the son of Apollo.

Their eyes meet in a silent dance, a wish, a promise.

Hanta toasts, to new opportunities, to new faces.

[p5x-theories]

(follow up from yesterday's p5x bubble universe theory) I'm referring to the p5x universe in general! With P5X being a spinoff, i was wondering if they'd follow the trend of the three other spinoffs: Wonder and Luffel seems to follow the trend of 'two spinoff characters intrinsically relevant/related to each other in an isolated dimension', and if we follow by that then this Shibuya being a closed off bubble world also can be theorised when we include the day cycle consisting just of 'yesterday, today and tomorrow'; it's just that unlike the other spinoffs where the wild cards are able to break in, joker is only able to appear briefly in this one (in the msq; putting aside the actual crossover)

Ah, gotcha, thanks for clarifying! That is actually a really interesting theory, and definitely not one I'd considered before.

I do think it's worth clarifying that Wonder's not just confined to Shibuya; he actually seems to have access to nearly everywhere that Joker did, so far with Aoyama-Itchome (where Shujin Academy is located) being I think the only exception off the top of my head. Wonder does also have access to two new areas as well, Shimokitazawa (where Kokatsu Academy is located), and Zoshigaya (where Wonder lives). So he does have access to a fairly large portion of Tokyo, but that's sort of an aside, given it could just be a very large "bubble" here, haha.

That all said, at the moment I really can't think of much to confirm or disprove this theory! We know it's a parallel world, but that could be used to describe something like where PQ takes place just as easily as it can describe the female P3 protagonist's universe, so that doesn't really point much in either direction. Which definitely makes it some interesting food for thought, even if I'm not sure I can add much at the moment!

Chaotic Entrance Exam is chaotic

Izuku is not quite sure how this happened, but Kacchan is dragging him up the path to the gates of U.A. High while a pretty girl chatters at them. Also, Izuku is floating. This seems like a pretty important fact to mention. Izuku rarely defies gravity on his own.

“Keep him that way, Roundface,” Kacchan had grunted and started dragging the floating Izuku by his tie after the girl had used her Quirk to save Izuku from tripping. “Can’t run off to be fucking stupid that way.”

“I could sleep like this,” Izuku had realised.

The girl found that very funny. “You’re not nervous at all, huh?” She’d laughed sheepishly. “I’m so excited!”

“I’m just dead inside,” Izuku explained to her.

“Deku’s a fucking idiot, is what he is.” Kacchan looked like he was contemplating chucking Izuku into the sun.

He still looks that way now, actually. Izuku should probably not tempt fate.

an idea would be an adhd!gn!reader that always manages to survive, but no one understands how.

they get distracted easily, can't concentrate for too long when someone is explaining the plan, and start wandering off to explore, etc.

everyone think they survive only thanks to the rest of the group

but chishiya is the only one who sees the truth (reader finds important clues at early stages of the game while wandering off, they try to explain what they believe is the right answer (normally being the right answer) but no one manages to understand what they mean because reader doesn't explain their full thought process or forgets to add context, asking simple questions out of curiosity and sometimes helping the group realise stuff, their previous fixations on random hobbies being useful, etc)

also, the reader is usually calm and unbothered about the situation, always in a good mood

It was time to play another game, you had only two days left on your visa which left you with no other choice. Hatter teamed you up with Kuina and Chishiya, something that made you feel safer. You drove to the location of your assigned game, a mansion in the Aoyama area, one of the wealthiest in Tokyo. You enter the entrance hall and each grab a phone off the table. In the room are two other players waiting for the game to start. A man fitting the aesthetic of the area, wearing an expensive watch and an even more expensive-looking suit is tapping his foot impatiently on the marble floor. And a posh older woman who could easily be your grandmother, fidgeting with her pearl necklace. 

Chishiya immediately starts analyzing the people and the room while Kuina greets the other players. The registration closes and an arrow appears pointing to an opening door, everyone hurries inside and the door closes behind you. On your phones appear the ace of clubs and a voice starts explaining the rules. “Game: escape room. Find clues and get out of the room in time.” You laugh “An ace? We’re definitely gonna ace this” you look at your friends to see if they got your joke, Chishiya rolls his eyes while Kuina snorts. They got used to your humor by now but you never skip the opportunity to make a cheesy joke to lighten the mood. 

“Thirty minutes left.” You look up at Chishiya as he begins speaking: “Okay, the room is big so let’s split up to cover the ground faster. Share everything…” You look around the room as your attention is pulled to a big bookcase. You tilt your head to read the titles. “I loved this book, ooh, Kuina you will really like this one!” “... and lastly we need a code to open that door.” Chishiya ends his little instruction talk. Everyone splits up to look for clues, the room is basically a large living room. Decorated with lavish couches and baroque art. After scanning the shelf with books you notice an aquarium with a small turtle. You smile as you watch it move, becoming hypnotized by the cute animal.

Meanwhile, the others were searching frantically for the key that would open a box. You got taken out of your trance when someone yanked you backward. “Search the fucking key you idiot” the posh asshole swears as he grips the front of your shirt. Immediately Chishiya and Kuina come to your aid. “Look violence isn’t gonna solve this game, so leave him alone” Kuina speaks. The guy lets go of you and points at the box, “We need a key to open it, search for it.“ You take it from Chishiya’s hands and examine it. It’s a wooden box, decorated with flowers, one flower stands out, a carnation. “Hey, Kuina did you know that a green carnation used to be a symbol to show that you were queer. It was popularized by…” You rush to the bookshelf as the others stand in confusion, your fingers trace the names of authors until you find the one you’re looking for: Oscar Wilde. You take it off the shelf and read the title. “The Picture Of Dorian Gray” you exclaim “I loved this book! The way Wilde portrays the dark side of humanity…” “Y/N!” Kuina signals. “Oops sorry. Does anyone have a knife?” “I do” the old woman proclaims while waving her purse in the air. She pulls the knife out of it but hesitates to hand it over. “What are you going to…” Chishiya snatches it from her before she’s able to finish her sentence. “Just trust them.” 

He gives you the knife and you walk determined towards the portrait hanging above the fireplace and slash it. Behind the canvas a key appears, you grab it and toss it at Kuina who opens the box. “Ten minutes left.” The box contains a riddle that gets rapidly solved by Chishiya, the riddle leads to another clue. It keeps on going like this and it looks like you were almost there. You slowly gravitate back to the turtle. 

“Five minutes left” the voice chimes. Behind you, the others cheer because they found the final code. You join them as Chishiya types it in. The door opens but you were met with another one. A sorrowful sigh left the older lady and the man punches the wall. The door was beautiful, so would have been escaping but you could just as well admire the craftwork that went into making the door. Beautiful curves, leaves, a turtle. A turtle. “One minute left.” You reach for the wooden turtle and start pushing it. It moved. You copy the unusual trail of the actual turtle, which had made you so interested in it in the first place: a triangle. 

The door opens and everyone leaps through just in time before the floor collapses. You look at your friends in shock before grinning widely. “I fucking love you y/n” Kuina sighs as she pulls you into a hug, Chishiya pats your back “Well done.”

Some thoughts about APTX...

In File.821, it is revealed that in the tape to Shiho for her eighteenth birthday, Elena said to her:

“The truth is, your mom is making a truly terrifying drug at the moment. My lab mates are getting really excited about it; they say it's like a dream drug. Your dad and I are putting all our hopes on it and calling it the Silver Bullet! But in order to complete the drug, your dad and I will have to leave you and your sister. Please understand, Shiho.”

—In order to complete the drug, your dad and I will have to leave you and your sister. Please understand.

She asks Shiho to “please understand” their departure in a tape that is meant for Shiho’s eighteenth birthday; she had planned all these recordings in advance and made them before her own death. These recordings are meant to cover the years of Shiho’s life until she reaches majority, from her first to her twentieth birthday—and all of them were recorded before Shiho was even a year old.

With that context in mind, the “leaving” she’s talking about sure sounds like the permanent kind, rather than, say, merely leaving them temporarily in someone else’s care to focus on their research. So Elena knew they were going to die. And according to her, the reason they have to die is to facilitate the creation and completion of Silver Bullet.

And if we accept that reading, then the next question becomes:

Why must the Miyanos “leave”—die—in order to “complete” the drug?

How fantastical might Aoyama go with this drug?

And this ties into a different question I’ve had for a long, long time, which is: why did the Organization spend so many years (and money and effort) into raising Shiho, putting her through the best education possible, shaping her into a prodigy, a child genius, all so that she can carry on her parent’s research? Why wait over ten years for Shiho? Why not just recruit a different scientist? No matter how wild or out-there Miyano’s ideas may have been, it’s unlikely that the Organization (especially with their deep pockets) can’t find even a single other scientist willing to carry on that research.

Additionally, Vermouth’s fervor in making sure Sherry is killed—not captured, killed—also raises questions. “If you want someone to hate for this, blame your parents who took over this foolish research,” she says to Haibara right before she’s about to shoot her. I know many people read this as a personal hatred she has against the older Miyanos and in turn Sherry for what they had created/were trying to create, but what if her goal is simply opposite to the Organization’s and the Boss’s, and not enmity directed specifically at individual persons? The Organization raised Sherry to continue the research; Vermouth wants Sherry dead so the research cannot continue. (She agrees to Conan’s demand during the Full Moon case that she give up on Sherry, in part because she sees how dedicated he is to fight the Organization and shield Sherry from it, and for a long time she does abide by that agreement, but then she tries to kill Sherry again during Mystery Train because Bourbon has found Sherry and aims to bring her back to the Organization. Vermouth’s preeminent goal has always seemed to be to prevent Sherry from returning to the Organization by any means necessary.)

And to be fair, all this may have just been, well, the product of the author having already decided on the character profile of “Haibara Ai” that he wants (genius teenage scientist, creator of APTX4869, the Irene Adler to Shinichi’s Holmes) and then just shaping her backstory around that decision. And Elena’s words in that tape may have just been lies and euphemisms to her daughter, cloaking the fact that she can sense that her death is near with allusions to a grander purpose. Parents all want to appear as best as possible in front of their children.

But if it’s not that, might there be some other reason? Again, just how fantastical might Aoyama go with this drug? Might there be some genetic component required here?

Might APTX4869’s effects have something to do with the Miyanos’ genes? Or rather, Sera family genes? Because why is it that, out of everyone who has supposedly been fed the drug (the APTX victim list that we keep seeing appears quite lengthy), only three people have been shown to the readers to have survived, two of whom (Mary and Haibara) we know for sure are closely related? (I think I once read someone saying that Aoyama said in an interview that Haibara and Conan aren’t related, but that’s so many layers of hearsay that I don’t know how much stock I should put in it until I see the print interview. I just know that one panel in Scarlet Return (File.897/Ep783)—where Conan talks about how Yukiko is “good at disguising herself as family” and then immediately thinks about how she also did a good job disguising him as Haibara that time—that panel still has me going eye emoji.)

Anyways, there are more questions than answers after all that, but it’s all so interesting to think about!!!

y’all know I am a staunch defender of Hawks in almost all things, but his continued ghosting of Tokoyami is an unforgivable crime. that kid saved your fucking life, dude. fucking text him already bro.

the last two pages were an almost-unreadable mishmosh in the scan I read, so I’m gonna have to look at some additional translations because I’m really fucking confused about the timeline in particular. has it really been two months since Jakku?? are we already in late May?? is Shinsou ever going to be allowed to join the hero course?? should he sue the school?? stay tuned.

lastly, it sure is wild how Aoyama and Hagakure straight up fell off the face of the earth and ceased to exist. but pay that no mind. How did Shigaraki solve to put Star and Stripe's quirk "New Order" under control? > Solved in vol. 34: New Order dissolved on itself but it caused Tenko to regain some level of consciousness > And in chapter 413 S&S's embers in AFO were able to reach both All Might itself and Yagi's vestige to let them know about the only weakness existing in Shigaraki, and I LOVE this turn of events.

2. Why did AFO do all of this? What are his reasons and origin? > We got his reasons in chapters 407-408 but I'm not totally convinced that he chose an apprentice just for the sake of having a new body > In 419 AFO explained that to steal back OFA it required a willpower stronger than the wielder's own and therefore grew Tenko to gain such a willpower.

3. Will Deku be able to reach Tenko? > Reached in #417

4. Who is going to survive? At the moment I think these are the name at risk right now:

7. What is Eraserhead, Present Mic and Kurogiri's whereabout? > Solved in #420, Kurogire warped them on an isolate rock in the middle of the sea.

OPTIONAL STUFF

1. How was it possible for Yoichi to pass OFA to the second user? (i.e. how did he realize that he could pass his quirk?) > I'm not crossing this one out for we still don't have an explanation from Yoichi's perspective; however in chapter 408 is suggested that it happened the day Yoichi died and Kudoh has felt off ever since. I want to add that we don't know of any organic exchange from Yoichi to Kudoh, my opinion about it below.

2. Is Deku's father ever going to make an appearance? I know, I know that, at this late point in the story, he can only be either AFO himself or noone interesting, but still, why did Horikoshi mentioned that Izuku's father would appear at some point in the story? Did he change his mind?

3. Is this picture ever going to make sense?

For further explanation, this seems to be a partial picture that was present at a BNHA exposition in Japan but, to my knowledge, does not have an explanation. > The full art, however, showed Aoyama, so it might be a hint about Aoyama's role? I'm not convinced and therefore I'm keeping this point active.

4. Why AFO needed Shigaraki's hatred? (Rif. chapter 311. For further explenation see section "Open theories", n. 3) > In chapter 410 it seems that Shigaraki is now able to steal, if not the whole OFA, at least singular quirks in it but it stays unexplained how or why. > In 419 AFO explained that to steal back OFA it required a willpower stronger than the wielder's own and therefore grew Tenko to gain such a willpower.

OPEN THEORIES (that I enjoy or consider interesting for some reason)

1. Dad for one (alias All for one is actually Deku's father) > With the flashback we had in chapter 407-408, it seems to me that, even though it is possible that AFO had intercourse with women, I just can't see him actually marry someone, and Inko mentioned her "husband" while discussing Izuku's lack of quirk; however, it is still possible that she called him that way just for the sake of appearences or that they actually married for some reason. I don't know, I really don't like this theory but I understand the appeal of it.

2. Decay is not Shimura Tenko's original quirk > Again, AFO's death in 410 might cross this one out but I'm still suspicious about the man in 235 that brought Tenko back home. > Confirmed in #419, Decay, which is a partial copy of Overhaul, was planted on Tenko by AFO, disguised as the random man we saw in #235.

3. Shigaraki can actually take One for All quirk without Deku's will > confirmed in chapter 410, even though we still don't know how or why, explained in #419.

4. Deku is suppressing his emotions > Pikahlua wrote an amazing perfect explanation about this theory and I'm convinced they're right.

5. Two for one (alias One for all is passed on both Izuku & Katsuki) (404) > I think we can call this one discarded.

6. AFO is (related to) the Luminescent baby (405) > Confirmed in 407 and even though I said I was not a fan of this one, AFO stealing his quirk out of crave makes much more sense than and I love it.

7. Izuku will replace OFA with:

7a. His own personal quirk that, similarly to Yoichi's one, was so unformed to be practically useless but grew up thanks to OFA. 7a-i. If we believe the DFA theory, his quirk might be either an evolution of AFO

7b. New Order (412) and it has to do with Star & Stripe arm > New Order is confirmed destroyed in chapter 413

7c. Nothing, he'll go quirkless again. (This is the only one I actually like) 7c-i. But his use of OFA has already created a vestige in OFA and Kudoh is planning to let Shigaraki steal OFA in order to gain access to Tenko's memory and finally start to connect with is soul and therefore to save him. > partly confirmed in 413, the only difference being that Kudoh actually plans to smash Shigaraki with OFA. 7c-ii. But, following the empty glass/full glass theory, Shigaraki won't be able to keep it for too long, without facing problem (like the 4th dying of old age at 40). >

8.OFA only transfer out of will, while hair or any other organic material just served to picture the passage in one's mind. I decided to delete the whole reasoning behind this idea but you can still read it in my chapter 412 update.

8a. As an alternative possible explanation, since OFA started stocking extrapower and multiple quirks, even though at the beginning a physical transfer was not required, it eventually became mandatory. (Like, email can only have attachment up to N Mb, in order to transfer bigger file you need a physical drive).

BNHA “cringe interest” headcanons:

Hehe we’re back onto the “cringe” headcanons again. I love these so so much so please don’t mind my headcanon dump. (also half of these are just me projecting so- )

- Mina loves Littlest Pet Shop. When she was younger she’d pretend she could talk to her stuffies like the one girl could talk to the actual animals. When she’s older she still does this when she’s overwhelmed or just feels like it!

- Bakugou and Izuku have a beanie baby collection! Their grandparents had them and passed them onto the two of them. They’d trade and play with them, and honestly when they’re older they’d most definitely trade half of their fortunes for one of those rare ones.

- I was telling you earlier how I enjoy watching “childish” shows because I enjoy the simplicity of them, so would Tokoyami and Shirakumo and Midnight. Tokoyami’s favorites would be Daniel Tiger and Tangled: The Series, Oboro’s would also be Tangled: The Series, and Micky Mouse (he was a Disney kid apparently), and then Midnight’s would be some random shows from channel 34.6 (heh, numbers vary ig) or something.

- Aoyama would use glitter pens. He’s also really like scratch and sniff stickers, probably because there’s so many different things you could stick them on! She’d also use scrunches and hydroflasks. They’d also have a bunch of flip-sequins.

- Kiri. Everything about him screams Disney kid. (don’t mind me slipping in some transmasc Kiri btw) He’d adore Mulan for being so strong and “manly”. He’d sit and wish that he was brave enough to make himself look more like a boy, but then his moms noticed and let him do what he wanted with his appearance :D. He went to Disney land when he was a kid, and he was so confused by all the English but no matter. He still considers it the best day of his life!

- Todoroki and Denki and Sero radiate fidget spinners energy. They probably thought they were stupid when they first came out, but they tried them once and refuse to ever leave without one.

- Ochaco and Tsu were Gacha kids. And they were good at it too. They spend hours on their OCs and hyperfixate on making their videos to the best quality they can. Anyone who tells them they’re “cringe” get a nice king flight or a frog thunge sling shot.

- Also, Uraraka wears flip sequins as well.

- Also since people seem to consider Danganronpa as “cringe” I’m going to make it where the Rooftop Squad loved it. And, to make it better, they each liked one of the games more than the other. Aizawa liked THH the most, Midnight liked UDG most, Oboro liked the second most, and Hizashi liked the last one most.

- Izuku, Tokoyami, Hagakure, Ojirou, Kouda, all like to RP.

- And then, ofc, I can’t leave out the best one:

Gin was taking their time with their work, making sure the bar was nice and clean. The middle of the day was generally slow. Outside of the few regulars, most of the traffic in and out of the building was more toward the evening. That was why the brand new face strolling through the door surprised them so much.

The woman was eclectic in appearance. Her kimono was fitted extremely loosely around her body, ratty and torn, with the right sleeve hanging down limply as if there was nothing inside. The long, poorly kept hair, eyepatch, and katana at her hip solidified this strange silhouette approaching the bar. She caught the eye of one of the regulars, but one imposing glare from the woman was all it took to divert his attention elsewhere. Impressive.

“Welcome to Gin’s Tonic, what can I get you?” They greeted warmly. A new face meant a potential new customer after all.

“Do you have sake?” the woman asked gruffly.

“Sure do, imported straight from Kwailai.” Gin reached up to retrieve the bottle while the woman took her seat. They poured a glass and passed it along.

The woman narrowed her eye at the beverage, waiting a moment before taking the glass and raising it to her lips. A single sip was all she allowed herself at the moment. A slight scowl grew as she put the glass down.

“Something wrong with it? You seem displeased.”

“It would be better warm,” was the only thing she said in response. She lifted the glass again taking another sip before placing it down again.

“But, I’m not really here to just have a few drinks.”

That wasn’t a surprise to the bartender. Why come into a bar in the middle of the day unless you were really looking to forget something?

“Ah, a bounty hunter then,” Gin offered, smiling warmly. “I might be able to help you out then. What did you need.”

“Something like that,” the woman mumbled. “I’m searching for someone. They’re... elusive, in a sense. I was hoping you may be able to provide some information, or at least point me in the right direction.”

“I take it you have the credits to pay for such information?”

The woman responded by lifting a moderately sized coinpurse and dropping it on the counter. Gin took a look, noting the credit chips and glancing back up at the stranger.

“Meet with my partner in the back. He might be able to help you out. Down the hall, third door on the left.”

“Thank you.” The woman quickly downed the remainder of her drink, leaving some credits on the bar as payment, then followed the given instructions. She knocked at the door, hearing a rough, “Come in.” Opening the door, she was met with the sight of a man dressed remarkably similarly to the individual she’d just met with up front. The main difference being the scowl he wore.

“What’cha want?” Ray asked brusquely, giving the woman a once-over. A younger him might’ve dropped his jaw at the sight of her, but there was no chance of that now.

“Searching for someone,” the woman explained again. “Are you capable of providing this information?”

“Depends,” he shot back. “What info do you have for me to work with?”

“I need to find a man named Jiro Aoyama. Rather tall, black hair, Kwailai descent. I believe he’s been in Apricus for some time, though there’s a chance he may be going by another name.”

“Tall, black-haired man from Kwailai who might not be using the name you gave me? You’re not givin’ me a lot to go off of. Any definin’ features at all? Piercings, scars, tattoos, anything?”

“He has a scar on the back of his left hand.”

Ray’s scowl deepened, and his brow furrowed in annoyance. This was going to be a wild goose chase for him, he could tell already. Not that he wasn’t willing to ask around, but it didn’t seem worth his time.

“Sorry, I can’t help you there. This kind of searchin’ isn’t really my wheelhouse.” He crossed his arms decisively to emphasize his statement. “However, I do know someone who might be able to help.”

“Where can I find them?”

“They’re probably listenin’ right now. If they think it’s worth their time, then they should be showin’ their face around now.”

As if on cue, the hissing of hydraulics started to emanate from a nearby bookshelf. The woman instinctively rested her hand on her blade, ready for whatever was about to happen. The shelf slowly slid to the side, revealing the silhouette of a slender figure backlit by dozens of screens. Beneath the hood, dimly illuminated, a single eye gleamed out from the darkness. A delicate voice caressed her ears, but what was said made her step back in shock.

“You’ve piqued my interest, Miss Hirawa.”

Time for the rest of the first challenge. Event. Whatever. Words hard.

[No. 26 - Chase Down The Leader]

We flashback just a minute or so from where we left off, in order to see just how Izuku pulled off his impressive launch across the field. He stands at the start of the minefield, watching other students pick their way through - and occasionally setting off mines with missteps - while having a veritable mumblefest over the mines and the general issue of trying to pick past them. 

The general gist of the mumbling: The mines are the type that blow up when stepped on, and aren’t that strong, but can throw a student off enough to possibly cause a chain reaction and lose them a lot of time. It’s better to go slow to avoid damage, even for leaping types, and trying to slow others is a guaranteed time loss. Izuku then analyzes the field in front of him, noting the spots people avoid and that most students will be most on guard at the entrance, which means there are plenty of mines left for his plan so long as they stay frosty. 

Izuku puts his armor plate to work digging up mines, muttering about how anti-personnel mines should only be 14 centimeters or so deep (about 6 inches). Jirou, just making her way into the field and using her quirk to… I guess disable mines in front of her? Anyway, she actually notices Izuku is up to something and asks what he’s doing, though I think it’s not one she expects to get answered. In short order, Izuku has a pile of about a dozen mines, and mentally claims he’s taking a page from Kacchan’s book. Meanwhile, Present Mic announces Shouto and Katsuki are still in the lead, and that they’re about to cross the finish line.

Not for long, though, as Izuku names his adhoc maneuver ‘great blasting turbo speed’, throwing himself on top of his armor sheet and onto the pile of mines, launching him over the field and right towards the two leading the pack. Pretty much everyone hesitates or stops to stare for a moment, shook by the sheer brass balls it had to take to literally blow yourself sky high. The two most shook, of course, are Shouto and Katsuki, who only just start moving again when Izuku actually flies ahead of them, forgoing their fight in order to catch back up.

Izuku considers the whole experience intense, and is even more focused now that he’s managed to gain the lead. However, there’s one huge issue - he didn’t think far enough ahead to consider how he was going to land. As if that’s not enough, Katsuki is throwing himself forward with more explosions, screaming at ‘Deku’ to get back there (presumably to fight). Shouto’s not far behind, giving up keeping the others hindered in exchange for the speed he gets from icing over the field ahead of him - he doesn’t have time to worry about those behind him now.

Present Mic announces the temporary ceasefire between the two in order to chase down Izuku, and how when a common enemy appears, people stop fighting - then tacks on that, well, actually they’re still fighting, just not each other. Aizawa wonders what his friend is even trying to say. 

Izuku starts floating away from his armor sheet, the larger surface area causing it to stall and slow faster then he is. He grabs onto one of the wires as he recognizes this, and that if he loses time on his landing, passing the two again will be impossible. As the two just start to rush past him, Izuku swears mentally, telling himself to not let go - while he’s still ahead, this is his only chance. So, if passing them is impossible, then he has to maintain the lead. 

Somehow, he manages to flip in the air, using the momentum to bring the armor plate swinging around and into the ground right between the two, the pressure enough to set off several more mines. The two are forced to stop from the resulting explosion, while Izuku’s newfound momentum throws him readily ahead. 

As he falls into a duck and roll, Present Mic announces how Izuku blows off the competition with no time to lose. He goes on to marvel at Aizawa’s class, wondering what he’s teaching the kids. Aizawa says it’s not his doing, and that they’ve been spurring each other on all on their own. Present Mic rolls on with his commentary, asking who could have predicted such an incredible turn of events? Aizawa asks if he’s being ignored as Present Mic announces the first one back to the stadium:

Midoriya Izuku. The crowds go absolutely wild. Outside the stadium, Death Arms recognizes Izuku as the kid from a year ago. At home, Inko falls off the couch sobbing while repeatedly stumbling over Izuku’s name. In an unknown location, Shigaraki watches on while scratching idly at his neck. 

Izuku looks around the stadium while breathing heavily, eventually looking at one spot in particular. Somehow, he’s found Toshinori in the stands, and the two have a Moment™ from across the stadium. 

These fucking two, man. 

While Izuku is trying to keep himself from crying, the other students start making their way across the finish line as well. 

Toshinori thinks about how Izuku has the spirit of a savior hero to the core, but the sports festival is a competition that tests the exact opposite of that - your willingness to take down the enemy. Heroes nowadays depend on popular opinion so much. So many selfishly seek to beat everyone else. But that’s not Izuku - and that’s why Toshinori chose him, even as he thoughts that lack of selfishness would be his one weakness. He claps in the stands, happy to have been proved wrong and mentally apologizing for doubting him, even as he laments Izuku’s crying habits.

Some business students nearby catch Toshinori’s attention, mostly due to them discussing Izuku’s potential and how they’d market him. They talk about how Izuku’s stock is about to rise, but it’s hard to say what’s still in store for him since he didn’t show his quirk. They then start speculating about how a hero agency would market him if they took it on, with one pointing out how he’s not much to look at, so they’re have to push his skills and his unique, almost artistic sensibilities. When the resources you need aren’t there… Well, we don’t hear how that gets handled, but Toshinori does note how some things never change.

We get a brief narrative insert about the business course, most notably how they have nothing to gain by directly competing in the sports festival. Instead, they hone their skills as salespeople and run business simulations. 

Back with the hero students, we see Katsuki and Shouto both catching their breath. Katsuki is furious at Izuku once again managing to wrangle a win right from under him, while Shouto is just staring after Izuku silently. Present Mic announces more racers reaching the finish line, and that the standings will be gone over later, so the students can catch their breath for now.

Ochako and Tenya make their way over to Izuku. Ochako calls Izuku’s strategy awesome, while Tenya is in despair over losing a race with his quirk, stating that he still has progress to make. Ochako states that she’s jealous of Izuku’s first place; Izuku flushes and hides his face behind his arms, stating that it wasn’t that impressive, and was still too close. Internally, he laments that he just got lucky, that all his chance strategies happened to work. They say it’s awesome, but it was just a lucky break, and that the real test of skill starts now.

Anyways, Midnight announces the end of the race, and we get the results:

I also calculated the points each of them had going into the second event, but I’m not gonna worry about that here. I’ll do individual and team points when we actually get to the teams. That way, we’ll know who has which teams’ headbands at the end!

Moving on with the chapter. Midnight announces that the top 42 from the qualifying round will move on, conveniently just including every hero student as well as the two non-hero students who managed to place higher. For those who placed lower, the sports festival will have another way for them to show their stuff!

(Not that we see said show, which I mean, makes sense narratively speaking, but also…)

[I was going to insert the server discussion about my thoughts on the arbitrary cut-off point here, but it’s getting long enough to merit its own post at this point. So look forward to that whenever it goes up!]

Anyways, Midnight continues on, explaining that now the main selection really begins, and that the press corp is going to be jumping out of their seats, so the students should give it all they’ve got. Now, onto the second event, which she already knows - which confirms these are predetermined by UA and they just do the randomizer for the sake of the crowds. Said event is… 

the cavalry battle!

Kaminari is nervous at that, thinking about how he’s going to suck. Mineta is also looking concerned. Tsuyu notes they’re teaming up, but how, exactly? Midnight explains with a neat little graphic:

Basically, participants get in teams of two to four, and get into a horse-and-rider formation. The rules are the same as your regular cavalry battle - snag the opponent’s headbands while guarding your own - but with a twist. Each student has an assigned value based on their placement in the race. 

Sato notes that it sounds like the points in the entrance exam, so it sounds simple. Hagakure comments on how this means the point value of each team is based on its members. Midnight snaps and cracks her whip at the students that she’s about to explain, so they should shut up already. 

Individual point values start at five, at the bottom, so the student in 42nd place is forth five, 41st is worth ten, etc etc. However, the first place participant - that is, Izuku - is instead worth a whole ten million points.

That, my friends, is the face of someone realized they done fucked up.

Basically all the students stare down Izuku as he goes stiff from the internal panicking. Shinsou and Hatsume seem to be shown particular interest in it. Midnight finishes the chapter by noting that the higher-ranked students are the ones to aim for, and that this survival game is a chance for a comeback. It’s anyone’s game!

tenya iida x fem!reader

[a/n: he’s so cute hehehe 🥺 here’s my first Iida fic, it’s your basic summer trope but...I simp for this man on the daily, I was a little sad to see that there aren’t many Tenya fics out there so I took it into my own hands, this is slightly self-indulgent but other than that, he deserves some love so uh yeah, enjoy! -yours truly, bunnyy -`ღ´-]

Class 1-A just couldn’t take the heat anymore so they begged and begged and begged until Aizawa finally gave in and planned a class trip to the beach.

Today, the girls decided to head to the mall and buy some new swimsuits since wearing the very non-flattering school issued swimsuits would be absolutely terrible. You had gone along since you didn’t really have a swimsuit, you had one from back in middle school but it hadn’t fit you anymore. So far, they had all been able to find one they liked except you. You had been to countless stores but hadn’t really found one that caught your eye but the girls insisted on going to one more store so you could look around. As you looked around, you had started to doubt that you’d actually find one. That doubt was realized when all the ones you had tried on were the wrong size.

Once back in the dorms, Momo had offered to make you one. An offer that you gratefully accepted. You had searched online and showed her what type of bathing suit would be ideal. After thanking her 100 times or so, you had gone down to the kitchen.

“Oh (y/n), You’re back. How was the mall?” I don’t think Todoroki realized how loaded that question actually was. He and Midoriya seemed to have been just chatting, eating snacks. Iida had been making some tea.

“Uhh well it was great, the girls were able to find some bathing suits.” You sat down across from your two friends.

“Is someone wrong? It doesn’t sound like you had a good time?” The freckled boy asked carefully

“I had a good time. It was nice to hang out with the girls but I’m just a little tired.” He nodded understandingly, Shoto had grabbed the packet of pocky and held it out to you in a silent offering. You giggled and accepted the offering, he nodded in approval when you took two of the strawberry flavored biscuits. You had joined their conversation about which pro hero had the best costume, a cup of tea was placed in front of you. Looking up, Iida offered you a small smile before sitting besides you and contributing to the discussion about All Might’s costume. You blew at the surface of the drink before taking a sip. It was black tea sweetened with just the right amount of honey and a bit of milk. You blushed at the fact that he remembered how you liked your tea. Too distracted in your thoughts, you nearly jumped out of your seat when Midoriya called you out.

“You agree with me (y/n), right?” Your eyes widened before you cleared your throat. Iida’s heart started to pound when he could see the mischief in your eyes.

“Well why are we even bothering to discuss All Might’s costume when Endeavor’s is clearly the best. Todoroki. Thoughts?” He had been friends with you long enough to know that you were just pulling his leg.

“Well, as much as I see your point. Why don’t we talk about how Kamui Woods has the worst costume.” Your jaw dropped.

“Okay now wait a second.” He knew that he was your favorite pro. “That’s a little much when someone like...”

Iida gave his 2 cents here and there but he enjoyed seeing you giggle and smile while joking with the other two. He couldn’t really explain why but his heart would pound harder any time you asked for his opinion or the butterflies in his stomach would go wild when you smiled.

Finally, the beach day came. Everyone had woken up bright and early to make sure everything was ready and loading everything onto the bus when it had arrived.

“IF YOU AREN’T IN THE BUS BY 9AM, WE WILL LEAVE YOU HERE! OH YEAH!” Aizawa cringed from beside Present Mic as he made that announcement. That meant that there was half an hour before you guys would leave. You nodded, amazed at the fact that you could hear your teacher while he was still outside. You finished packing your bag before getting changed into your swimsuit, standing in front of your mirror and scrutinizing your reflection. It was nothing to do with the swimsuit itself, Momo had done an amazing job. You were just...insecure. It was a one-piece with an opening at the stomach. It looked cute when you had seen it on the model online but on you, it seemed wrong. It made your thighs look like they were bulging out of the material and the pudgyness of your stomach seemed to be accentuated. Sighing, you pulled on your shorts and tank top before making your way out to the bus. Aizawa crossed your name off the list before you boarded and took a seat beside Ochako. Midoriya and Iida in the seats behind the two of you and Shoto and Tokoyami in the row in front.

Thankfully, the ride to the beach was only about an hour and a half long. Everyone unloaded the bus, as instructed by Iida. The beach was relatively empty so it gave you guys the abilities to claim a huge spot for the entire class. 1/3 of the class had instantly stripped down to their swimsuits and ran to the water. While the rest had set up the tent, some chairs, the volleyball net, or their personal umbrellas. You had offered to share yours with Tokoyami since it was big enough and he didnt seem too keen for on being in the sun too much. Even then, he had still peeled off his shirt and was sat on his towel in nothing but swim trunks as Dark Shadow had made an appearance and started to play with the sand.

You had sat down criss cross on your towel, book in hand. You had put it down from time to time to watch your classmates laughing and having fun. Midoriya had approached the two of you and asked if you guys had wanted to join their volleyball game. You had accepted the invitation but Tokoyami had politely declined. You were on a team whith Shoji, Shoto, Denki, and Shinso. Ochako, Midoriya, Iida, and Sero were on the other team. Mina, Tsuyu, Aoyama, and Momo were watching on the sidelines, cheering for both teams of course.

Halfway through the game and you all took a hydration break but you were starting to feel the heat. Quirks were allowed so with that and the fact that your quirk had to do with fire meant that your body ran warm.

“Are you okay (y/n)?” Shoji asked as he handed you a bottle of water. His question caught the attention of the others as they noticed that your cheeks were a bit more flushed than normal.

“Yeah, why don’t you change into your swimsuit?” Ochako asked, head tilted to the side.

“I-I have it on but well...” you sighed, deciding to be honest. “I’m just a little s-self conscious.” You looked away, slightly embarrassed as the words left your lips.

“Aww (y/n), no!! You’re super cute! Come one, I bet you look great!” Mina grinned encouragingly. “Plus, the girls have seen you pretty much naked before so there’s no need to be shy.”

“Mina!” There were calls of embarrassment from both the boys and the girls.

“You do have a point...” you mumbled to yourself. You walked off to the side and started to unbutton your shorts. All the boys had looked away to give you your privacy. (because they drink their respect women juice every morning)

“O-okay. D-done.” You nervously announced as you handed your clothes to Mina.

“See! I was right!”

“W-whoah! (Y/n), no disrespect but you look hot!” Denki smirked, nodding appreciatively. As the others had started to compliment you, no matter how hard Iida tried to restrain himself, he couldn’t stop his eyes running over your body. More specifically, your thighs. The way they slightly strained against the material of your bottoms made him blush. He couldn’t help but glance at them once the game had started. The way they flexed when you had gone to bump the ball or the slight jiggle they had when you ran for the ball. Don’t get me wrong, Iida likes you for you. Your personality, your kindness, and your intellect were very attractive to him but your body was a definite plus.

Your team had won the game and while Mina, Momo, and Tsu were congratulating you, Mina caught a glance at Iida. He had looked at you, eyes softened, and a blush on his cheeks before looking away.

“Ooh it looks like you’ve caught the eye of mister class rep.” She teased.

“W-what? Mina stop m-messing around like that.” You stuttered, her previous statement was making your heart want to burst.

“It’s true though! Don’t you have a thing for him too?”

“Well yeah but-“ you were cut off by her calling him over.

“Hey Iida! What do you think of (y/n)’s swimsuit? It’s nice right?” Oh how you wished the earth would split open and swallow you whole.

“Y-yes, I do. It’s very flattering (y/n).” His answer made your heart do somersaults. “May I o-offer some advice?”

“Oh uh yeah, sure.” You were a bit confused but wanted to see what we had to say.

“As a young hero, you work hard every day to get stronger and make sure you can be the best hero possible. You should be proud of your body because it’s the fruit of that hard work and well...because you look r-really beautiful. Regardless of what other people may say.” His sudden confession made your eyes widen but before you could respond, he had run off while shouting at Bakugo about the dangers of grilling without proper supervision.

Throughout the day, the girls teased you about your crush on the class rep. Currently, you were drying yourself off after having been in the ocean for a bit. You had wanted to confess to Iida. You had been slowly gathering the courage to do so, the other also helping hype you up.

“Hey uhm Iida. Would you maybe want to get a smoothie with me? From that place up the cove?” You were fiddling with your fingers.

“I would be glad to accompany you (y/n).”

So the two of you had gone off to get some smoothies. Chatting about trivial things as you waited. He had opted for an orange and carrot smoothie while you went for the simple mango smoothie.

“So uhm, before we go back. I h-have something to tell you...” he motioned for you to continue as he sipped at his smoothie. “Right. Well I just-well I...” you sighed, taking a calming deep breath before continuing. “I like you Iida, like uhm r-romantically. I have for a while now and I just thought I’d let you know.” He was silent, still sipping at his drink while processing your words.

“Well that’s a relief. I’ve been figuring it out over the passed couple of days but I have romantic feelings for you as well, (y/n). And seeing as the both of us seem to do relatively well in our normal studies and our hero studies, I could see that balancing a relationship with schoolwork should be relatively doable.” His words stunned you.

“Wait so does that mean-“ You really we’re at a loss for words.

“Yes. It means that I would like to pursue a relationship with you. As boyfriend and girlfriend.” The turn of events made you very giddy with happiness.

“C-could I hold your hand, Iida?” You asked nervously as the two of you walked back. He chuckled and nodded, taking your hand in his.

“I can do you one better.” He had leaned down, noses inches away. “If you’ll allow me to?” You nodded, closing your eyes and leaning forward to close the distance. Lips moving together, it was inexperienced but sweet and soft nonetheless. Both of you a blushing mess as you pulled away. The rest of the class cheering from a distance as they watched the exchange.

Later on that night, during the bonfire, the both of you sat next to each other. Having already changed into some sweats to protect yourself from the cold, he had let you wear his navy blue hoodie since you were still shivering. He hesitantly wrapped an arm around your waist, relaxing when you had moved closer and snuggled up to him. He watched with a soft gaze as you joked around with Shoto and the others and partaking in eating some s’mores. The way your cheeks puffed up as you gave him a tight lipped smile, mouth full of the concoction of gooey marshmallows and chopped made his chest feel fuzzy and warm.

Even as he held you close, as you nuzzled into his chest because the ghost story Tokoyami was telling was a little too scary for you, he still couldn’t believe that you had reciprocated his feelings. The girl that he had his heart set on since the second week of school was now his girlfriend. It was times like these that made him expect the unexpected.
