"Tally!"

Caras hissed, nails digging into the back of the second royal's hand as they were dragged along, footsteps heavy on the cobbles as they tore through the streets. Of course the physician had been pulled into the shenanigans of the runaway royal, even if they were only out for the evening. Caras had caught them sneaking out, dressed in lower class clothes, a hood pulled low over their features, and had reluctantly gone along with it (for all they complained, Caras truly did trust Tally, and they knew how to have fun).

"Come on, keep up!"

Came the response, their voices drowned out by the inn across the street, and the sounds of more footsteps approaching them. The guards. They had been caught sneaking back towards the palace and, assuming they were street urchins, the guards had given chase.

"Down here, against the wall!"

"What do you mean 'down h-'?!"

Caras' indignant questioning was cut off as Tally's warm lips enveloped their's. They were gentle, almost oddly so given their brash personality, turning so their back was shielding Caras from view, and only lingered long enough to hear the guards give a mocking scoff and move along. As soon as Tally moved away, Caras brought their hand up and slapped the back of their head, causing Tally to yelp out in surprise.

"You ass, a heads up would have been nice!"

"Whatever, you know you enjoyed it, you love me."

"Shut up! Come on, let's go before they loop back."

There was a laugh in Caras' voice, and when the two returned to the palace, they even jokingly threatened to kiss them goodnight if they didn't go to bed right away. The two joke about it, sometimes, when Tally's parents aren't around, to the confusion of everyone else.

not to tap into Discourse here but there’s this video going around on twt of some female idols (i think) kissing each other platonically on the mouth and people are getting upset over it bc they’re presumably straight and it’s like. i genuinely get that to some degree it can be frustrating to see ‘straight’ (presumably) people get away with ‘safe’ sapphic expressions of love and sexuality under the guise of platonic heterosexual friendship when actual sapphics are literally violently discriminated against for the same things but also can we not forget that like. its okay to kiss your friends on the mouth 👍 you’re allowed to do that because you’re allowed to express intimacy and love however you feel comfortable. the idea that kissing someone on the mouth is an inherently romantic thing is so unserious anyway as if there aren’t plenty of cultures and families where it is a totally accepted and normal platonic gesture. frankly the only people ever freaking out over platonic mouth kisses are always western and white lmfao. i can completely understand the urge to be frustrated maybe (i mean i do think its a harmless video.) but something about the idea that it’s inherently ‘wrong’ for ‘straight’ women to kiss each other on the lips / perform other ‘romantically’ coded gestures in a platonic context rubs me the wrong way. actually everyone should kiss their friends on the lips if that is what they want to do. it’s literally fine. just. taps the sign that says the meaning of the gesture is determined by the people involved in the action once again. anyway that entire criticism just kind of rubbed me the wrong way

college au roachghost where ghost is an architecture major and roach is a communications major:

they meet as first years who are randomly placed in the same dorm and end up just liking each other a lot and move into an apartment together after a year and just hang out with each other all the time and play video games etc. as they've spent more time together over the course of a couple of years they've gotten more and more physical with each other. it started out with just little touches here and there but eventually progressed to leaning on each other all the time, sitting pressed right up against each other, lying on the couch cuddling (like lying on top of each other style) to the point people think they're an item but they remain woefully oblivious to/don't particularly care about what people say about them

one night they're just hanging out playing 1v1 katamari damacy and roach is beating ghosts ass at it bc its his favorite game ever and ghost keeps moving closer and closer to him to try and distract him until hes fully sitting in his lap, chest to chest. roach is distracted by the game and doesn't even question why it makes him feel so good to have ghost so close to him like that, too caught up in lovingly teasing the only person he's ever let touch him at all. no one's ever touched him, let alone this much, but he just laughs and half-heartedly tries to look over his shoulder to keep playing, he giggles when ghost does as he leans forward and starts giving him shy kisses on the neck, subconsciously tilting his head to the side to give him more space. he doesn't even think twice about kissing back when ghost makes his way up to his face, kissing over his cheek and finally starts kissing him in earnest; it feels like the most natural thing in the world to have ghost on top of him, hands on his thick waist pulling him closer while ghost pushes him back into the couch cushions, leaning even more of his weight onto roach, getting his hands into roach's hair and sighing softly against him when he feels his best friend hug him tighter, and roach is so happy to be sharing himself and his space with the only person he's ever trusted enough to let get close

Virgil: *groaning* But do I have to?

Janus: Yes.

Virgil: Fine.

Janus: *rolling his eyes* Good. Now, where to begin?

Remus: I call building the blanket fort!

Virgil: Guess I'll go get the snacks.

Janus: I'll go set up the movie. Since I'm the only one capable of working the DVD player.

Virgil: *rolling his eyes as he walks to the kitchen* Still don't understand why you won't just stream it like a normal person.

Janus: *glaring at him before going back to finding a movie*

Remus gets the blanket fort built. It's big and fluffy and somehow structurally sound (even though it doesn't look like it should be). Virgil returns with bowls of popcorn, cups of hot chocolate, and some small containers of candy. Janus picked some random cheesy horror movie. They get comfy together in the fort. Things start calm, with each of them commenting on the movie. Remus gives gruesome facts and talks about the gore. Virgil makes fun of the effects and picks apart the plot holes. Janus makes fun of the characters and their choices. They make it until about halfway through the movie.

Janus: Oh yes. Go towards the screaming. That will clearly go well.

Virgil: *rolling his eyes* Yeah. Characters like her never have any brain cells. Though... *glancing past Janus towards Remus* guess we can't say much since Remus is currently shoveling glitter into his mouth.

Janus: *looks towards Remus, who was in the middle of shoving another handful of glitter in his mouth. His face was a sparkling mess.* Remus! I thought we agreed, no more eating glitter! Last time, it took weeks to get all the glitter out of the blankets, and I'm still finding some in the carpet!

Remus: *stares Janus in the eyes as he eats another handful*

Janus: *tackles Remus*

The two of them roll around on the floor for a few minutes, glitter puffing out from them in tiny little clouds. Virgil cackles as he records them. After about five minutes, Janus sits up with a triumphant look on his face. He holds up a now empty glitter container.

Janus: *smugly* Ha! I win.

Virgil: *snorting* You sure?

Janus: *looking over at him*

Virgil: I mean, look at you two. *He glances between the empty container, the two of them, and the mess of glitter on the blankets* Both of you are covered in glitter and the blankets look like a disco ball. You kinda just made it worse. Just saying.

Janus: *rolling his eyes before making eye contact with Remus. They both smirk at each other with a mischievous look*

Virgil: *glaring* Don't you dare.

Janus: I don't know what you are talking about.

Virgil: I know that look on your faces. Don't.

Remus: Now, now my emo nightmare, whatever are you talking about?

Virgil: You know exactly what I'm- *He gets cut off by Janus and Remus tackling him*

The three of them roll around a bit before it evolves into some strange combination between a glitter fight and a pillow fight. By the time they calm down, the movie had already ended, and the living room was a mess of blankets, pillows, and glitter. It takes a while for the laughter to die down. When it finally does, Janus speaks up.

Janus: You guys do realize that someone has to clean this up, right?

He barely gets to finish his sentence before Remus is sprinting to his room.

Remus: Not it!

Virgil and Janus: Remus!

Now I wish I had friends I could have a glitter fight with :(
