This is basically an Esteban Ocon dedicated blog at this point with a sprinkle of my other faves and other random things. F1 and FE Fan (Esteban and Lewis are my faves, Edoardo for FE). Mercedes is my 🤍. If you don't like my opinions and posts, ignore it and scroll away.

#copy paste#he really looks like his dad (but he looks so much like his mum too 😅)#one the rare times we actually get a picture of Esteban's dad in the paddock...I think most of the time he prefers not to be pictured#esteban ocon#eo31#laurent ocon#chinese gp 2025

ᯓ translation of an interview of Esteban Ocon by Canal+
It was a lot of stress because it wasn't the plan with the strategy. We had started with two stops. But seeing as how the degradation was lower than expected, everyone changed their plans during the race. But the car really came to life with these tyres. When the others started to degrade, I saw that we had the right pace. We were missing a little bit of straight-line speed and a few little things here and there. But honestly, it's nice. Considering where we started in Melbourne, I think everyone is really happy. We really managed to turn the situation around in a week, which wasn't what we thought would happen either. But - there you go, it shows that we know where we're going. There's still potential in this car. We also showed it in the last few laps of this race. I hope it will continue in this direction for this season.

este always making a point to praise ollie, saying "good" when he heard ollie was sassy on the radio, demanding to also see ollie's overtakes after his own got shown ... maybe they are family
#almost all of Esteban's interviews i've watched he makes sure to praise Ollie#nothing new to Esteban though...he has always been supportive of his teammates and loves to highlight their successes too#their relationship sort of reminds me of Esteban and Fernando in 2021/partly 2022...#now I need them to do hot laps together just like Esteban did with Fernando 😆😁#esteban ocon#eo31#ollie bearman#ob87#haas f1 team#chinese gp 2025

Drivers are seemingly walking back their comments on the "swearing ban" saying after a dialogue with the FIA that the rules in F1 are fine and the backlash from Rally Drivers is not applicable to them🤔
#actually i think this makes a lot of sense#in rally the drivers are interviewed at stage end. they're literally having a mic shoved thru the window of their car#they're essentially still driving#there's nothing similar to that in F1 at all. any interview even post race or before podium ur out of the car and you can breathe for a bit#i think the rally drivers are right to protest bcos to be punished for swearing when ur adrenaline is still at 100% ur still IN the car is#<- all the prev tags!#wasn't it already clarified that F1 drivers will not be fined for swearing on the radio unless directed towards the FIA and the stewards...#and if they swear during interviews which to me makes perfect sense since they have more control of what they say unlike rally drivers#as prev said they are literally interviewed while still IN THE CAR... different situation from that of F1 drivers...#just because they are under the same swearing ban doesn't necessarily mean it is being enforced the same way between the two categories

Esteban talking about the struggles he had with injuries when he was younger
[From GQ France on YouTube]
#the more I find out about Esteban's childhood the more I realize how much being in this sport tested his determination#to not only have financial problems but seemingly be the only one having physical issues amongst his peers must have been frustrating#esteban ocon#eo31#interview

First Times Interviewer: So Esteban, we’re going to do a “First Times” interview. Esteban: Alright. First time you kissed a girl Esteban: Is this a joke? Interviewer: Yes, it’s a joke. Esteban: He’s crazy, he’s crazy! First Formula 1 memory Michael Schumacher, who was leading the Monaco Grand Prix, going into the tunnel with all four wheels and coming out missing two wheels, I think. For me, it was impossible that something like that could happen while he was in the lead. I don’t know, I must have been 7 or 8 years old. First memory as a driver As a driver, it was my first test in Valencia with the E20 at the time. The engine engineers told me, “Why are you giving little throttle blips when you come in?” I just loved the sound. And they said, “Ah, okay! Well, alright.” First interview with Canal+ I don’t remember exactly where, but I think Abu Dhabi 2014. Interviewer: After FP1? Oh, there you go. I still have good memories. “I don’t know yet what my program will be, but in any case, I think I’ll be at all the F1 weekends, so that’s great. It’s a huge honor, and I’m really happy.” First time in an F1 paddock Monaco 2014. For your info, I was waiting for my pass at the entrance of the barriers. I waited 3H30 sitting on the ground because someone was supposed to bring it to me. That person forgot. Then, there were no more passes left, so I went in and only had my pass for 45 minutes before having to leave again because there weren’t enough passes left. First F1 point A crazy race. It was here, actually, in Australia. A battle with Fernando for many laps. A battle with Hülkenberg for many laps. And in the end, I managed to make the overtake. We were three-wide, and I got my first point. My first point—so a great memory. First F1 podium It was during the COVID era. It was the end of the year. It was a tough season. And yes, it was very emotional because a second-place finish, it was a crazy race, with lots of pit stops on a small circuit, with 80 laps. It saved my season. First F1 victory I think that’s the moment every driver works for. I want another one. First moment with Haas Going to the Empire State Building with Ollie. I had never been to New York. I saw some iconic places, including ones from the Spiderman movies, which was always something I had wanted to do—something I had always dreamed of visiting. First night out with Haas Last night. I organized a little get-together before the madness of the season begins. We played darts, had a great time, and I discovered a new sport that I’m not bad at. I always thought you had to aim for the middle, but actually, there are more points elsewhere! So yeah, a discovery.
