Guys guys guys. I have an idea for a Sanders Sides hero/vigilante/villain fic. With the characters, their arcs, and the basic plot all figured out.

I got this idea yesterday at like 2 am. I think I was given magic.

Anyway time to write about teen vigilante Roman realizing that being a superhero isn't actually as wonderful as the thought, and learning more about his family than he ever thought he would. Yippee.

Ok I legitimately made myself curious with my own post of Roman writing analogical fanfiction, so this is what we’re doing: if the sides were aware of the ships of themselves, what would they ship? (Ft too much analysis from yours truly)

Logan: I like imagining that every side in the moralogince trio ships the other duo that’s not them, so that would mean Logan would ship royality (which makes sense, he’d probably think “what dorks, they would be a nice couple”). I also think he is the only side who would ship Moceit just because he can see the progression and he thinks it’s sweet. I also see him shipping Dukexiety for literally no reason other than “spooky.” He also has this weird thing: “I don’t want to date Janus, but I would ship loceit”

Roman: Oh you know analogical is his otp. He shipped logicality (to go along with the moralogince thing) until Accepting Anxiety, and then he claimed his title as the number one analogical shipper. I can’t really see him shipping anything else, maybe dukeceit since they’re both “villains” in Roman’s eyes

Patton: Logince, he wants them to be married. Patton just… ships everyone with himself. I can kind of see him shipping loceit since both of them are more serious and smart, I also see him casually shipping analogical but nowhere near as much as Roman does. Basically uh, Patton likes Logan ships.

Virgil: I will never forget the livestream where Virgil wrote a Dukeceit fanfic. Virgil ships Dukeceit—it’s the only Janus ship he will ever tolerate. He also might ship Intrulogical just because Remus and Logan can kinda have mad scientist vibes but Virgil’s not really big on shipping Janus or Remus with anyone really, besides each other. (Also I think he ships logince but I have no reasoning to back this one up)

Janus: Hot take, Janus would die for royality. He loves royality as much as Roman loves analogical. He chills in his room, everyone thinks he’s plotting something evil, no. He stole Roman and Patton plushies and he’s making them kiss. He also kinda likes prinxiety because he thinks it’s fun how much they hate him, but his main ship is royality, he loves the cute besties to lovers thing and he will never ever admit it

Remus: … yeah you all saw this coming, he definitely ships roceit. His brother and his best friend, Remus definitely ships them just because they’re the ones he likes the most. Plus, the ✨drama✨. I also think he ships anxceit bc damn he wants his friends to kiss and make up.

What's the bitularity au? The one in the dukeceit hair post?

Heyo, sorry for taking forever to answer this; but outside of that I'm glad you asked! Okay the basic concept of Bitularity AU includes the characters of Sanders Sides, Inside Out, and Slay the Princess all coexisting within one world.

(I've yet to decide if I'm gonna give all the characters their own names or if I'm gonna just stick to source on this specifically)

However! There is a twist! The world itself functions as a cross between Soul Eater and Steven Universe. This specifically refers to characters both being able to summon their own weapon, and be able to shapeshift. This works really well for characters like The Thorn, who now has an additional level to being able to summon her own knife.

Or characters like The Razor, who can just become the knives. This opens the flood gates for characters designs of all sorts... and gives me free reign to give Janus multiple arms as often as I want-

I do need to kinda throw myself under the bus on this, though. The hair image brought up is this post. Unfortunately this post isn't really cannon to the Bitularity universe anymore.

This is because, prior to adding Slay the Princess and Inside Out to the mix, the AU was reworked by that point where all the characters would be in a polycule. But by the time I added additional properties to the mix I decided to go back to the original concept of the main relationship focus being on Patton Sanders and Remus Sanders, as by adding the additional bits of inspiration I had two options: either make the main focus one property and everything else as just set dressing (which I am not the biggest fan of doing tbh) or go back to an earlier set of plans that can have the issues in there be ironed out with these additional characters? I basically chose to kill one darling and then revived another one.

(I ultimately feel that this is for the best since this way I can have fun with expanding the narrative and create some character interactions I think would be really enjoyable.)

This also means I can work with having an antagonist that would absolutely work way better than whatever main villain I was trying to cook up, the Narrator.

Logicality - theyre very switchy and they do this kind of teasing, sweetly condescending brand of degradation. Logan's not a slut he's PATTON'S adorable slut who he loves very much, and vice versa. however Logan would absolutely never use or enjoy these outside the bedroom (even if patton wouldnt care, he cares about logans boundaries)

prinxiety - okay so Roman does get in bratty moods for Virgil sometimes but its so aksjhaskjdh just precious kinda of bratting. pouty boy. feet stomper. the worst he ever gets is a "brat" dripping with fondness, and its saved for when theyre alone.

Dukeceit - most of them lol. they both talk a big game about exhibitionism but Janus is mortified by the actual vulnerability of it, so they are always at least mostly alone/at most will be overheard.

okay so the thing about dirty talk in laoft is that roleplay and degradation are a bit difficult for virgil and logan, who cant lie. Virgil first heard most deragatory names used during sex by humans in the context of people flinging it in slur form at greta, which pretty much irrevocably stored them in the "insults" part of his brain, so he's a no-go Logan is a little more complicated, because he knows they dont have to be insults, but he could still never manage to say them because he believes they're insult, mostly do his own hang-ups about being polyamourous leftover from when they were teenagers.

however i do have like 15% of an idea where io and remus (who have none of the above stated hangups) joking call each other whores all the time (because the entire reason io exists is because me and remus have the same sense of humor lol) and logan and virgil are Scandalized but it makes them re-examine their positions

and also so i can write the silver foxes fucking nasty

i don’t really think we have a settled big 3 now, but i see the moceit/intrulogical/prinxiety lineup way more than prinxiety/logicality/dukeceit one.

logicality have had a good run but unfortunately they’re boring now, remus and logan had that one Weirdly Erotic episode, and moceit is just getting more and more food. prinxiety stayed the same but mellowed out over the years. so if you asked me, i’d say we’ve kinda flocked over to the first arrangement mentioned.

big 3 to me is intrulogical, moceit & prinxiety in this order. love em

OH SHIT YOU ALSO ASKED ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIPS LMAO I MISSED THAT

Ok so I made a post answering a separate ask about Dukeceit so I'll spare that (also I don't wanna retype it all)

But the gist of is that the AU is endgame LAMP, but it takes a minute to get there because they are all Very Stupid.

Roman has a big fat crush on Patton. Has forever. He thinks of Patton as his soulmate, the prince to his charming, etc etc.

Logan has had feelings for Roman ever since they deemed each other their best friend, but he refuses to even humor the idea of doing something about it, because of how besotted Roman is for Patton. And he understands why Roman likes Patton, maybe a little too well, because Patton is perfect, he's pretty and kind and funny and all sorts of other adjectives for amazing that Logan can think of. And that's obviously just objective fact, there's no way Logan has any sort of bias on that, none at all.

Patton, meanwhile, is the only one aware that he's definitely got some non-platonic feelings for the both of them. And he's kinda got bigger things to worry about at home (👀 ask me ask me ask me) so he just kinda figures they'll blow over. Besides, he can see how much Logan loves Roman and Roman clearly feels the same, even if he apparently doesn't realize it, so there's no need to mess with it. But he does really want to shower them all with love sometimes, especially when he catches Logan making such fond expressions at him and Roman play-flirts.

And then Virgil shows up, and all three are pretty quickly enamored. He and Roman exchange witty quips and debate over silly topics, with Logan he can relax and share interests with, and with Patton he can be silly and affectionate without getting too anxious. Pretty quickly they've all got crushes on Virgil.

And things get more complicated when Roman realizes that he likes Virgil and Patton, bc wait what. How's that possible. Does he have to choose. How does that work. Poor boy's never heard of polyamory.

And then he sees Logan all dressed up for some fancy hero party (his parents are heroes, and the organization sometimes has stuffy events where everyone is treated like they just push papers or smth, and kids can tag along) and realizes oh no he's hot.

Virgil meanwhile is sitting here just happy to have friends in the first place, finding all of them attractive but recognizing they clearly have some kind of weird triangle going on, so he just won't mess with it. But they're so determined to help him despite the fact that he's the one who caused all of his problems in the first place (in his opinion at least) that he can't help but want to kiss them all. And it doesn't help that they all look at him like he's some wonderful thing.

So yeah they're all stupid as hell.

so. Virgil is Not Okay, right? and Remus (and presumably Janus) are part of his Tragic Backstory. I don’t actually know how to phrase this as a question, but it is one. see below.

so 1. I did not think of that but now somebody definitely called him "gay-le."

2. It currently just resides in my brain, I came up with the idea less than 48 hours ago and within an hour of existing it already had a fully fledged plot and character development and all that, but i plan to write it as soon as i wrangle my adhd to work with me.

3. counting them all, i think Roman has 3 romantic crises, 2 familial crises, 2 moral crises, and 1 identity crisis. So he has a total of 8 crises. Oof.

4. Janus is another villain, working alongside Remus. And also is Remus' best friend, handler, and moral compass. I'm completely abnormal about them.

5. Virgil's tragic backstory is mostly separate from Jan and Remus, but they Know About It, and are tied to a less tragic, more shameful (at least for Virgil) part of his backstory. Gale wasn't always viewed as purely a force of good :) (But yeah, Virgil is Not Okay, though he gets better once the gang finds out the details about his Tragic Backstory)

6. Other than spoilers for like Big Moments in the plot or Big Reveals, I'm willing to say a lot, because this thing already takes up so much space in my brain and the more hyped i get about it the more motivated I am to write, so pls ask me more about it, it sparks So Much Joy

Hey! Noticed your complaint about Janus ship name similarities in the tags of the rociet, and I came up with a few alternatives that are combinations of thing linked to them rather than just their names!

For example:

Rociet = RoyalSerpent? (Self explanitory)

Lociet = MindBending? (Like bending the truth)

Mociet = HiddenHeart? (Like how Jan hides stuff from Thomas)

Those are just my ideas but they're definetly more unique and distinct from one another. Feel free to come up with your own if you wanna!

I'm thinking about Intruloceit and just.

Janus starts hanging out with Logan because he's the only other side with a brain cell, they'll spend time reading together and they'll have debates.

One day they're reading quietly in Janus' room, all calm and relaxed, then Remus bursts in to tell Janus about his latest idea. Janus is like "shut up, Re. We were having a moment" but Logan's like "no, let him finish"

And Logan ends up going along with whatever Remus is doing. From then on, Remus goes to Logan whenever he has an idea; Logan will work out the logistics and they'll put the wild scheme into action.

Janus thought Remus was enough to deal with on his own, and now he has two chaotic boyfriends who could burn down the mindscape with one of their 'experiments'. He thought he'd found a kindred spirit in Logan, someone else who has to put up with all the chaos, but all Logan's common sense disappears the moment Remus opens his mouth

Janus adores them with all his heart, and probably even helps with setting up their experiments so they're both safe, but good lord do they stress him out

Of fucking course the shit in the hole would have fucking Levianth minions lurking around.

It was supposed to be just a quick in and out mission from their boss. Gather supplies and be back to base but the minute Janus and he stepped through the door it shut behind them, locking them both in the freezer.

They should have suspected something was up. It was far too cold inside when Logan disassembled the electronic lock. Guess you could always count on good old mutant AI trying to destroy humanity.

From the sound of gunshots from the other side of the door Remus concluded it wasn't peachy on the other side either. Classic. Trap those you can and eliminate the rest with minions.

Remus plopped down on the ground. There was nothing Janus or him could do. The door was locked from the other side so they had to wait for Logan to open it once again.

There was a chattering sound behind him. Remus grabbed his gun and snapped his torso around, only to come aim at a surprised Janus, who was rubbing furiously at his arms.

"Are you cold?"

"Oh not at all Remus" he sneered. "I'm just as peachy as back home in sunny Mississippi. I just thought I’d compose a melody."

Remus snorted, patting the spot on the ground to his right.

"What?"

"Sit"

"Yes Remus, sitting on the frozen ground is exactly what I need right now."

"You can sit on my lap if you want to," he wiggled his eyebrows. I assure you it's much warmer than the ground."

“Hard pass” Janus responded sitting down.. As soon as he did Remus shrugged off his jacket and laid it over his friend. Despite Janus being slightly taller than him it still hung loosely on him, no wonder he was cold. Remus wrapped his arm around his friend, pulling him closer, so his scaled side could rest against him. He captured all of Janus' bony fingers with his other hand. The scales were cold to the touch.

"Wow, Logan wasn't kidding when he said you're cold blooded, rattlesnake."

"When is Logan ever kidding, Remus?"

Remus snorted.

"Yeah. I just wasn't aware it could get this bad so quickly."

Janus shrugged.

"Comes with the good looks" Remus snorted. He remembered all the times Janus’ ‘good looks’ have gotten them into trouble. It was a close call far too many times and there were five of them now. He can’t imagine what it must have been like for Janus before he and Logan joined their rag tag team. He doubted he'd ever find out, not how secretative the two of them were about it.

He was brought out of his thoughts as Janus teeth chattering got louder.

"I promise not to make any dirty jokes if you want to sit in my lap" Janus raised his eyebrow "Alright. I'm going to make one dirty joke but you're fucking cold and I don't want you to freeze."

To his surprise Janus stood up, awkwardly slipping onto Remus lap. He shifted the jacket to the front, pressing his back against Remus. Oh he really was cold. The bulkier man slipped his arms under the jacket, grabbing Janus’ hands.

"Oh you’re warm.” The taller man said, relaxing slightly.

“Warm?” Remus grinned. “I should be offended. I’m fucking hot, man.” Janus snorted, arching his head awkwardly to look down at Remus.

Before the taller man had any chance to respond, the door burst open, Roman’s grinning face popping into the room.

"The hero is here to save you both" Roman’s eyes went wide as they landed on Remus and Janus, but he quickly recovered, a devious grin breaking out on his face.

"Do you want us to lock you two in for two more minutes?"

Me when I got busy with school and didn't finish Dukeceit week 😭 I also just had NO ideas for the day 5 prompt and I kinda got stuck which didn't help either :(
