Draco never thought Harry’s face could ever look this soft, every time he has laid eyes upon Harry over the years, his jaw has always been too tight, his entire face set like stone, defiant. And no matter what he did to avoid it, Draco has always been mesmerized by it, even when he was not supposed to be.

So now, as he’s tracing the golden skin that seems to glow under the light of the sun pouring from outside, Draco realizes looks can be deceiving and he’s never been more glad to be in the wrong.

”Shut up, Malfoy.” Make me. Draco is immediately embarrassed by his own thoughts. Potter’s words ring in his ears and his heartbeat speeds up at the roughness of his voice.

Draco hates the way his own voice goes up an octave or so higher as he laughs mockingly, not sure to what exactly, and he’s looking around to see who’s with him. Of course Vince and Greg are, they’re too stupid to make their own decisions. Draco turns back to Potter, who’s staring at him intensely.

Draco gives Vince or Greg, he doesn’t know who, they’re both equally ugly, his school bag. He does not take his eyes off of Potter while he does.

It’s so quiet. All Draco hears is the way his heart is rushing blood through his body way too loudly. Will Potter hear? Is Draco’s face red? Better not be. Potter’s eyes are still locked on him.

Draco moves slowly, walks towards him and tries to act cool, but he can’t help but eye the other boy up and down and up again, a bit intimidated by the way Potter always manages to uphold his Potterish grace while he’s on his guard like now. He’s got that look of fiery, yet stone-cold fury in his eyes that he’s famous for, even though a bit less than that scar on his forehead. Draco can’t help but notice that his hair is longer, more messy than it was last year. Of course it isn’t news to him or to any of the lame girls who adore Harry that Potter came back to school looking more mature this year. He’s no longer the specky git he was when he was new to school, or when he was twelve. Okay, he is and will always be a git and he’s still fairly short and very thin, but he’s grown. His eyes seem to be more intense, his jet-black hair always looking like he’s just woken up. Or possibly like he’s just had a very passionate shag.

Do not think about that, Draco, do not think about shagging do not think about shagging-

Fuck, he’s staring. Draco flinches, and goes absolutely still. Potter is still looking at him, but now his lips, those full and slightly tinted lips, are curved in a little smile. A dimple appears in his cheek, oh so slightly, and fucking hell. Draco finds himself unable to breathe. He could inch closer, take one or two more steps, inhale Potter’s scent, tilt his head up by the chin and study those emerald eyes more carefully… he could do that��

But there’s people around, and it doesn’t matter that Draco could stand here forever and watch Potter smile at him, a smile that’s probably there to mock and embarrass… Draco can’t let his mask slip. Someone’s coughing awkwardly, leaves are crunching under another student’s shoe. Draco’s throat is dry, and it takes a few more seconds in awkward silence for him to gather his thoughts and get his voice back enough to exclaim “Dementor, dementor!” and watch as the words take effect. Potter, and countless others, spin around. Draco takes the chance to wipe away a drop of sweat above his eyebrow and let his gaze wander down, but his eyes snap back up as soon as Potter turns back.

He can’t let himself be this weak. He can’t, no matter how hot this new Harry Potter may be. No matter that the sun shining through the green leaves above them is igniting Harry’s glasses, his eyes, his hair, his jaw, his pale but healthy looking skin. He reminds himself that he’s Draco Malfoy, Malfoy, a Malfoy. Potter’s sworn enemy, a title and place in Harry’s life that he shares with the Dark Lord himself, which is satisfying but cruel and horrible too. He can’t let himself be weak. Harry Potter is forbidden territory. The show must go on.

Hiiiee <3 I wish I could post longer fics on some platform for y’all, but as it is now it’s not an option to do so. This has been on my mind for a while now, so here ya go! ^^ I’m thinking of doing the same kind of thing with another scene in PoA that in my opinion screams drarry… but let’s see. Also I have so many pairing I know people would bash me for. Expecially in the Harry Potter fandom. Like realistically no, they would never work. But in fanfiction I could make them work. (I could fix them. I know it.) (mirz is in her pick me girl era)

Drarry. Now yes is it popular. Absolutely. Is it controversial. Absolutely. Like if I were to right my blast to the past fic it would be a drarry fic if Harry was sorted in to Slytherin. Ofc I’d have some like Blaise or Theodore little hook-ups with Harry but oh my goodness I know I could write it well.

Now hear me out. I mean it. Do I ship it in canon? No. Absolutely not. Never in a million years would I. But if you haven’t read tomarry fanfiction it is full of the best writers out there. Istg. They are poetic. Mwah. And the world building is wonderful. And the soulmate au’s (y’all gon learn real quick I’m obsessed with soulmate au’s) oh my goodness they are the best things to happen to this world.

Merthur. Must I go in to detail here? It’s practically canon. Just because Arthur married Gwen doesn’t mean anything. Merlin and Arthur for life.

Destial. I’m not going into detail here. It’s self explanatory. They’re in love.

Perpollo. I actually really like the well written ones. If you haven’t read LorixJake reading the books fic than you absolutely should. They’re who inspired my fic. Very few perpollo fics are written good but the ones that are usually are the best.

Percabeth. Canon. Duh. I obviously do have some problems with Percabeth, but in fanfiction they are actually awesome. There’s a fic called “The Nymph” it has 10 chapters at the moment. But it’s a god!Percy being cast from Ancient Greece to the future after his godly wife went insane. Annabeth is a version of that wife but mortal just as Percy is now after being cast away. And it’s one of the best fanfiction I’ve read.

I will actually be bashed if I say the pairing from the Percy Jackson fandom that people either hate or love. Like literal no inbetween. So no one gets to hear it.

My most popular fic, by far, is Right Hand Red. I feel guilty even mentioning it because it gets plenty of attention without me drawing more to it. I will never not be stunned by how popular and well-loved this fic is. It’s currently at 586,000 hits and sneaking up on 30,000 kudos. I never imagined this sort of response in my wildest dreams. Anyway, it posted in January of 2015, it’s eighth year (my version of an eighth book, minus the epilogue in the seventh), party games, Drarry (obv.), with exquisite art by Iwao. Here’s the summary:

Harry felt Malfoy's breath on his lips as they came together over the bottle, hands firmly planted on the floor as though they each needed their familiar soil, refusing to cross into enemy territory.

Except that Malfoy no longer felt like his enemy.

Malfoy felt inevitable.

Now, for a couple of ‘hidden gems’, though to be fair I’m still very happy with the response of the people who have read these two. They may have less hits, but the comments on them have been a complete joy to get. Both are rarepair, one femslash, and the femslash is rated M (my femslash does way better when it’s E, go figure.) But it’s a verrrrry sexy M, let me just say that!

So yes, Nice Blouse is Pansy/Ginny (Ginsy), written in February of this year (2022) and only 485 words, which I know is also not to everyone’s tastes. But boy does this little ficlet sizzle! I mean, there’s tit-sucking in public, okay? The summary:

Tequila shots in a queer bar. Things heat up fast.

(Man, I need to write some more Ginsy before the year ends, for sure.)

like the lost lyrics of a song suddenly remembered was published in 2018 and is endgame Teddy/James but contains a lot of explicit Teddy/Bill along the way. Teddy is in his 50s, a rockstar, and oh yeah he’s got some werewolf tendencies. Maybe it’s his age that puts people off this fic? (There are also flashbacks to sexy times when he was 17, so maybe it’s partly that? LOL somehow he’s both too old and too young in this fic!) Maybe it’s the rarepair “competing” with the Jeddy, though I think Teddy loves them in different ways and he certainly loves James more. It’s hard to say why it’s not more popular (there’s some really adorable background old Drarry, y’all), but again, the people that have read it have blown me away with their response, so I’m not complaining, just speculating here. Did I mention there’s knotting?? The summary:

Teddy Lupin, aging rockstar, is making a comeback after his life and career were nearly ruined by an illegal potions habit. Everyone's out to support him tonight. Including the man he's always tried so hard not to love -- as well as the man he's always turned to instead.

I do - commenting is probably my most favorite part of being a fic reader, so the comments section is important to me. there’s so much to love out there, and the comments are my favorite place to express it

none! don’t think I’m angst guy, really. I have some wips with pining, with complicated family feelings, with hurt, but it doesn’t quite feel like angst. and certainly won’t end that way!

well, surprise: sun shower has a pretty sweet ending. it feels like a beginning more than an ending, though.

my mind is always thinking in connections, but that usually comes out in AU form (drarry: grace & frankie! parent trap!! the beckhams!! wesper princess diaries 2 AU!!!), rather than like everyone showing up in the same scene. so no, i guess.

not yet, but I think I would really love this. I feel so much love about other people’s writing and so excited to share in ideas, so I feel like this format would be such a delight for me.

I don’t think I have one all-time, because once I love something I love it forever. so I just keep collecting more all-time favorites. but drarry I feel the most immense about and committed to, which is saying something because there’s very little I love that I don’t love immensely. and to be honest, my commitment to drarry is certainly because I love them as characters, but it is also about the community being so wonderful. so thank you, y’all, it’s really special here.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but probably never will?

so I had this completely bonkers idea that I call “avada banana tag” which is when someone dies everyone they avada-ed comes back to life, like banana tag. i.e. when Molly kills Bellatrix, we get Sirius back, etc (yes I know that only happens in the movie but bear with me for goofy concept reasons). like, the spell only holds as long as they do? makes it a pretty short-sighted way of killing someone. but that’s as far as the idea goes because it’s so absurd and messy, and I don’t think canon rewrites are something I’d know how to do justice. but I think it’s so funny and fascinating, so if anyone wants to run with it please feel free

16. What are your biggest writing strengths?

100% it’s coming up with ideas. you should see my idea dump document, it’s abundant in there. and maybe description, I hope, and sensory experiences

17. What are your biggest writing weaknesses?

I won’t call it a weakness but I have less experience with plotty things, and get really stuck in dialogue that feels off.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

I’m not fluent enough in anything else that I think I could do this myself, but as a reader I really love it, both when I do and don’t understand what’s going on. and I like communicating that they’re speaking in another language without just translating. I think I’d love to incorporate my other languages (spanish and ASL) into fic, and I also love when Draco speaks french. when it’s well done I think it’s so impactful!

19. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

I think it was actually someone else’s OCs, what feels like forever ago

20. What is your favorite fic you’ve written?

the one that’s still in my brain that I think about most days… it’s so very beautiful. I hope one day it makes it out of there!

Hi, I just wanted to come on here and share some of my favorite fics, these fics aren’t dedicated to one fandom in particular it’s just fics in general so yeah.

This is a wolfstar/Jegulus fic basically, it takes place after Sirius gets sent to grimmauld place and he finds a loop whole in Order to leave. So Sirius,Remus and Harry got to Harry’s dad parents place and Harry finds an old muggle video camera that contains old videos of regulus and James.

It’s a great fic love it, I love fics like this I have like one more and if anyone has any fic Recs with this kinda topic please let me know thanks

Ok this is another Jegulus fic, And basically Sirius finds Regulus’s old diary from when he was in Hogwarts this is a trans regulus fic and it’s really good(also this took me over an hour to find so you welcome) 

Ok this is a MikeyTake fic and it’s like an alternate universe, where there are still gangs and they are in high school but Mikey is running(it was either kanto or bonten I can’t remember lol) instead of Toman. And basically to sum it up Hinata left Takemichi for kisaki(🤢) because takemichi didn’t want to have sex with her, and takemichi wants her back, and he ends up befriending Mikey, and Mikey has the idea that they should fake date(and obviously they fall in love duh🙄 lmao also Mikey is dark impulse but it’s more manila Mikey then then Kanto Mikey/Bonten Mikey. He’s only evil when he’s with the gang)

I personally haven’t finished this fic(thought it is a finished fic I just haven’t gotten around to it yet lol) and this fic is not for the faint of heart ok so be prepared. In this fic there are no gangs. Rindou and Ran grew up in a really rich family and they are taking over part of the family business. Sanzu is this rich psycho yandere douche wad, who has an arranged marriage set for him and Rindou and he like abuses him and stuff and he’s really crazy but it like gets better and then worse and I haven’t finished it but I’m pretty sure it will end on a good note hopefully fingers crossed 🤞

Ok this is a Drarry fic and it’s and 8th year au, basically Draco went to Azkaban for 3 months after the war and then him an a few of the past 7th years attended Hogwarts again for 8th year to continue there education, but since there was so little students and significantly less administration the eight years were given in the staff dormitory and your own common room as a way to promote house unity and Draco and Harry are assigned roommates it’s pretty good I read it recently.

reasons why drarry is the perfect example for enemies to lovers and why they make sense

first i looked up reasons to ship drarry i found a article on screenrant the article is 5 reasons harry and draco would make a great couple & 5 they’d would be awful together now i’m not gonna tell you the reasons they would be awful together because they aren’t i’m gonna tell you 5 reasons they would make a great couple

1 they are equal in many ways harry and draco would be good together because the fact that they are really evenly matched both of them are extremely smart and capable of magic while they might be in the two different hogwarts houses that hate each other the most they do have some major similarities they can both be really intense and they are equals in ways they would allow them to engage and complement each other

2 they have natural chemistry when it comes to romance is more to it then just how personality traits match up on paper part of romance is how much chemistry and tension two people have between them there’s no denying that these two have a lot of that while it might be interpreted differently depending on how you view their relationship draco and harry always have a lot of chemistry when they are around each other they are both very invested in the others life for better or for worse both harry and draco are often really concerned about what the other one is doing they both take turns being really involved in one another’s business while this might be because they don’t like each other many fans have noticed that this intensity seems more like how it feels when someone has a crush on another person and isn’t sure how to handle it it definitely the case that harry and draco are really worried about each other

3 they’d challenge each other in harry potter harry is someone who is rather intense and can be a little dramatic at times in this way theses two would be well matched because draco is also like this harry has a lot of talent and energy and he would likely to be best with someone who can challenge him to do better and would live up to his potential

harry can help redeem draco while draco is really messed up in a lot of ways he does give some indication that he isn’t as bad as he was raised to be he doesn’t give up harry to bellatrix in the deathly hallows and in the cursed child play he became a much better person then he was as a child harry as a romantic partner could definitely have helped him become even kinder and helped him learn things that he wasn’t taught growing up with death eaters parents those exact words came from a article on screenrant about drarry and i agree with all 5 reasons i agree with harry and draco being equal not because they are smart and capable of magic it’s also because they are just a boy remember molly saying that about harry in the order of the phoenix and draco mother narcissa saying that about draco in the half blood prince i agree with them having natural chemistry is also because they are also compatible if you believe in zodiac signs and compatibility harry was born july 31 he’s a leo draco was born june 5 he’s a gemini which geminis and leo’s are compatible with each other they have great chemistry reasons why i agree with they are both invested in each other’s lives them being concerned or worried about each other yes harry and draco did worry about each other i mean you can tell on draco face when he saw harry face being all swollen and unrecognizable in malfoy manor asking what’s wrong with his face his tone sounded like he was worried and his face looked like he was worried idk if you agree with this but in the prisoner of azkaban when draco asked harry if he really fainted on the train from the dementors it sounded like it was a worry ask not really a taunt to me it did idk if y’all agree but harry was worried about draco too when he saved draco from the fire in the room of requirement he didn’t want to leave him there his face was a worried look having screenrant article tell you draco and harry being in one another’s business because they don’t like each other or fans may noticed that this intensity seems more like how it feels when someone has a crush on another person i agree with the crush thing i mean come on draco was obsessed with harry also i mean draco talked about harry lot to his father and lucius was annoyed how much draco talked about him and i think draco talked about harry a lot to dobby because remember in the chamber of secrets when dobby and harry first met dobby told harry he heard great things about him dobby did work for the malfoys so dobby wasnt free from them until harry gave him a sock so i’m guessing dobby wasnt free to go anywhere a lot to hear about great things about harry potter so how did he hear that and knew that?draco maybe? it is cannon that draco talked a lot about harry to his father so if he talked about harry with dobby saying great things about him does that sound like someone who hates someone? if you really hated someone and you talked about them you wouldn’t say great things about them you would talk shit and say horrible things about them that aren’t even true because you hate them well if draco really did hated harry he wouldn’t have told dobby the great things about him lastly i agree on harry can help redeem draco i mean draco did have a redemption arc in the deathly hallows part 2 movie but it was cut the deleted scene was draco ran and tossed harry his wand so he can defeat voldemort i’m still very upset about that that it was cut from the movie so if harry and draco really didn’t care for each other really hated each other then why did they both save each other lives draco not giving harry up in malfoy manor by not identifying his identity or when he gave harry his wand after discovering harry was still alive so harry can defeat voldemort if draco really hated harry he would of given harry up in malfoy manor he wouldn’t give harry his wand to defeat voldemort if harry really hated draco he wouldn’t save his life in the room of requirement idc if you don’t ship them i’m tired of seeing drarry can’t happen because they hate each other when they really don’t

Harry feels nauseous when he opens his mouth. "Hey. Um, hi. It's me," he mumbles before realizing with a jolt that Louis might not have his number anymore. "It's Harry... Styles," he tacks on, screwing his eyes shut and pinching the bridge of his nose. This was a terrible idea.

There's silence on the other end for a long time. Harry understands. He shouldn't have called. He tries not to let the static swallow him whole.

"I – yeah. Hi," Louis finally answers, slowly, awkwardly. "I um. Sorry. I heard about your accident. You're alright?"

FAVORITE FANFICS OF 2020

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I know I speak for all when I say....I cannot wait to toss 2020 out the door the way Uncle Phil constantly did with Jazz. One of the things that got me through this rough year, besides family & friends & BTS, were fanfics.

It’s that time of year again where I make a list of all the fanfics that I absolutely adored. Some are by veteran favs of mine, others are new to me who just knocked it out of the park. If you’re interested in past lists, here is 2019′s list and 2018′s. If y’all are interested in doing your own fanfic favs of the year, please do so and tag me. Always on the hunt for new favs. 

So without furhter ado, my fav fanfics of 2020:

1). Another Word for Forever series by stardropdream (sheith)

Summary: Shiro knows better than to expect love in an arranged marriage. This is all for the sake of universal peace, after all, and solidifying a Terran-Galran alliance. At the very least, Shiro can hope to make a friend out of this. Becoming friends would be much easier, though, if he and his husband could actually communicate. 

With a language barrier and a mountain of cultural differences between them, getting to know Keith proves to be a challenge. Luckily, Shiro's always worked well with challenges.

2020 shockingly became the year of sheith. I ended up rewatching the show w/my bestie @littlenightdragon​. Diving more deeply into it w/my other bestie @kila09​. She and I spent the better half of this year devouring so many fanfics of them in various AUs. I came across new fanfic authors, and stardropdream is among them. 

If I could describe this series & stardropdream, I’ll take a cue from Lady Gaga: “ talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it”

This series was just PERFECTION. I’ve gotten into arranged-marriage AUs and this has been one of the best I’ve read. It was just perfection. The language barrier definitely added an extra charm to it, in which Shiro finds his own ways to get to know his husband better: both creative and funny ways. So many cute moments, so many funny moments with Hunk being the translating middle man between them, and the smut. THE SMUT. THE SMUT. THE SMUT. Just *chef’s kiss* Incredible. It was just so so sweet, and such a comfort read. I reread this series 5 times already and hope Robin (the writer) does more stories in this AU.

Please read this series. You’re not gonna regret it. It will MELT your heart.

2). The Golden Hour by @goldentruth813​ (sheith)

Summary:  After a space mission failure, Shiro loses his arm and his career. Two years later he's settled into a quiet and simple new life on his farm, but when a beautiful alien crashes in his field, he discovers the answers to his questions—and possibly the keys to his future—will come from the stars.

I’m sure no one, least of all Janel the writer herself, is surprised to see this author featured on this list. For now the 3rd year in a row. WOOOW  👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 She is the reason I got into shieth, and she just continues to put out amazing conent with them. This story by far has been the best she’s done this year-possibly one of the best ever. 

We have Shiro trying to have a simple life at the farm with his dog and animals. A curious BOM Keith who shakes things up with his boldness/innocence-and questions bound to test blood pressure, especially Shiro’s. Loads of cute moments, loads of funny moments, and also loads of oreos. 

If summary and my thoughts don’t sell you, only one thing will: reading it for yourself.

3). Spun like Gold by Neyasochi (sheith)

Summary: Though Shiro is currently operating his fledgling bakery business out of a decrepit food truck he got for cheap in a repossession sale, he dreams of something more: a cozy bakery and cafe on a tree-lined street somewhere, filled with the smell of fresh coffee and sugar glaze instead of diesel. A little money could go a long way to helping him get off the ground-- and luckily, Keith has money to burn.

Or: Keith takes care of Shiro’s financial woes, in exchange for a little sugar.

OMG, OMG, OMG was this story so sweet. Neyasochi already sold me with the baking/baker Shiro trope, but went a step further throwing in sugar-daddy Keith who knows his way around his manic family and cars, but when it comes to asking a cute guy out? What better way to make an impression than becoming his best paying customer?

4). The Destiny You Sold by @tryslora​ (drarry)

Summary: In which Draco knits, Harry makes wands, and things get very tangled up between them.

If there’s one thing I love about fanfics is how they introduce you to tropes you never would consider before. Draco and knitting was a combo I didn’t realize how much I needed until now. And I love the fact knitting played a big part of the accidental bonding. Also loved the fact everyone in their friend group shipped them like crazy. Highly, highly recommend 

5) What’s My Age Again? by @lazywonderlvnd​ (drarry)

Summary: Harry Potter has had enough of pleasing the public, and his reckless tendencies are finally getting out of hand.

The Quidditch World Cup is only a week away; as Captain of the English National Team, Hermione has assured him that his immaturity won’t be tolerated by the Ministry.

And then Malfoy shows up.

(Inspired by the blink-182 song of the same name.)

It’s no secret that I’m such a fangirl of @lazywonderlvnd​. Any drarry story I read, I always love. Last year, I ADORED The Changing Lights, which was one of my favorites last year, and her updating/finishing the story was a massive highlight for me. I thank ya for that. 

This story was honestly refreshing. I’ve grown so used to Harry being responsible, always doing what’s right, that seeing a story where Harry pretty much has his middle finger in the air to “good reputation”, “being responsible,” because as he brought up: “I’m 25. I’ve been fighting all my life. I’ve earned my life to have fun.”

Okay, granted, it wasn’t quite like that but it was along those lines. And I agree. After all he went through, Harry deserves to have fun. He deserves to be reckless and make stupid decisions.

Also, it was such a blast reading a story where Harry is the brat & Draco has to keep him in line. LOVED.

6). Chocolate and Pastry by agentmoppet, anemonen (drarry)

Summary:  When Pansy bets Draco that there is no chance he and Harry could carry out a genuine romantic relationship, he and Harry form a plan. But as their fake relationship progresses, Draco sees a side of Harry he never expected. Harry is struggling with something, pushing it far down inside him where he doesn't have to acknowledge its existence. Draco starts to worry, and then he starts to care, and then... horribly... he starts to fall in love.

Do not let the title fool you like it did me. Title alone, I was thinking it was going to be a fun, fluffy story involving baking, maybe chocolate crafting. However....it was not that at all. It was more. A lot deeper. A lot more angsty. It explored mental health, PTSD and the dangers of loved ones ignoring the signs, and contained an important message:

You can’t love someone out of their illness/disease/ addiction. Which is true and this story showed that. 

7). i’m still here by owedbetter (zutara)

Summary: "You see me."

And somehow, that makes all the difference.

If there’s one of the few good things 2020 has brought, it was Netflix bringing back ATLA to their library. Which in turn ignited my love for zutara & had me drag @kila09​ into that ship. 

This story was just incredible. The way it was written, it really felt like it could have been canon. Deleted scenes that a certain creator didn’t want us to see. The way Zuko and Katara came together, starting from their peaceful friendship after the Southern Raiders episode up, becoming closer along the way. 

I dare y’all to read this and not think OMG...is this secret canon bonus material? I definitely plan to read more by owedbetter. 

8). all the what ifs i never said by rosegardenlake (sheith)

Summary:  Keith is nine when he first notices Shiro. Shiro is gentle and quiet, always keeping to himself. Keith is rough and loud, running wherever his feet will take him, screaming on the top of his lungs into the wind. But despite that, they're a constant throughout each other's lives...if only that could be enough. As they grow, Keith just wants them both to be happy, but instead, he's falling apart.

Rosegardenlake is another sheith writer who I adored last year & adore this year as well. This was a story that I read during the beginning of quarantine-life and when I tell you the number of times Keith’s emotions of loneliness got to me, it’s a big number. 

Keith’s struggle with life after high school, after peaking in school, and his mental health reminded me too much of where I was at 2018, which wasn’t a good year for me at all, especially mentally. So that was triggering but it was also helpful since I saw how far I came. And it was beautiful seeing how far Keith came. 

Also the relationship between Shiro and Keith was just beautiful. It’s very funny how Keith was Shiro’s protector growing up and Shiro became Keith’s later on in life. There’s a chance your heart may be heavy, but will also be so swelled up with feelings these two bring it.

9). When Night Comes by Oh_Hey_Tae (BTS; poly ot7)

Summary: Jungkook’s tipsy, but he’s not buzzed enough to miss that he doesn’t recognize any of the four dozen people here. And seeing as his friends aren’t ones to ditch and there’s no way they’d play a prank this mean on him, Jungkook reaches the conclusion that he just walked into a stranger’s very expensive home, uninvited, and started eating their food and petting their well-dressed dog.

(Or: Jungkook shows up to the wrong Halloween party and meets the most powerful family in Seoul.)

I can easily say Oh_Hey_Tae easily one of my favorite BTS fanfic favs. Always come through with the stories, and this one was just amazing. We have Jungkook stumbling into a Halloween story, and soon enters into a intense, insane relationship with all six guys, who are already in a relationship with each other. Oh, and supernatural creatures at that. 

You do see certain relationships are stronger, deeper. For example, a lot of moments between Jin and Jungkook. Vmin has their own story and moments. But it was just so amazing. 

Fair warning. Halfway through, things get darker and Oh_My_Tae really loves playing readers diirty with the angst, but it’s so good. 

10). peace-weaver by magisterpavus (sheith)

Summary: You will be the peace-weaver, his mother told him, smiling though her dark eyes welled with unshed grief. The one who brings two bitter enemies together and ends the bloodshed and death between us, once and for all.

But men will always crave war. The Galra, most of all.

Yet another arranged-marriage AU that I loved. This particular one is well-loved in the sheith fandom. I can definitely say it’s considered one of the classic fanfics that’s been read or shared at one point or another. 

The story itself reminded me a lot of Macbeth, involving murder and dark forces at bay. The dynamics between Shiro and Keith reminded me of Drogo and Daenerys from GOT, one of my fav couples there, which only made it all the more better for me. 

I do credit the author for the creative approach they took with quintessence and Shiro’s role/persona as the Champion

It’s not half bad I think! But also I don’t think it’s as good as like any of the fantastic writers I’ve read!! God to someday have confidence to post my work more often. Y’all I keep writing Drarry stuff that I never post. Should I just do it? Would anyone be interested in what I have to say? IDK. Anyway go check out Sofya’s work, it’s all so good and I really admire her writing style. The way she writes Harry? *Chef’s Kiss* Perfection. I’m working on a Drarry chapter-fic called Verses. It’s largely Draco centric and all about self-destruction, and trying to crawl out of a hole you’ve dug yourself to feel safe in. Sad to say my last chapter update was more than two months ago, and I got hit with laptop troubles and writers block, but chapters 3 and 4 are coming along nicely.

Only two people in his life could have told you off the bat that Draco was dealing with a painful hangover, Blaise and Pansy. Though now it seemed Potter ranked amongst the pair wheeling him around while he waited for a signature.

I’m alive: an update

Hey everybody! Long time no see.

This is gonna be a bit of a long post, just gonna throw a read more here for all the mobile users who don’t want an eternal post on their dashes every time they log on.  TLDR at the bottom.

I notice there are asks in my inbox and notifications in my activity thing, and I want you to know that I see that there are things for me and that people have been interacting, and I appreciate it.  I’ll be looking at/responding to everything as I’m able to.

I’m back in school and, honestly, I’m a dead gal walking.  I’ve been gone for a month(?) and this is the first night that I’ve really had a “break” to do something other than school.  I’m loving some of my classes, hating others, I’m sure you all know how that goes.

Right now, I’m trying to get back on my feet and get adjusted to the radical ways my life has changed in the last several weeks/months.  When things hopefully (dear god, hopefully) stabilize in my life a little bit, I’m hoping to be able to balance some self care (and writing!) with the myriad of other things I’m dealing with.

In the last month, I’ve missed reading stuff on here so much.  Y’all, go send @slytherinbarnes and @stuckonspidey some love for me because I’m seriously missing Sub Rosa and it echoes through so much.

(Oh my gosh, Lilly, you’ve finished the sequel and I’m so far behind! 😭  My heart! I can’t wait to read and find out what happens! And, obviously, you were gonna finish it, but here’s a high five for finishing it because writing’s hard and authors deserve more support!)

(And Sb!  You’re already on season 3??? I’m so far behind and I’ve got so much amazing writing to catch up on!  And I swear if we’re still in the slow burn stage I will be having a word with you!  I’m so impressed with how far you’ve gotten; I feel like I blinked and you made it through season 2.  I can’t wait to read it!)

It’s going to be very hard to go back to schoolwork tomorrow and not binge both of these series.

Also go check out the Very Harry Potter Summer’s Masterlist because there are a lot of great fics on there and I’m so mad school started during that because there’s so many fics on that list that I wanna read and haven’t had time to yet!

As for me writing, I have a stack of WIPs I’m going to start nibbling on when school permits.  It’s probably going to be a hot minute until I post another fic (she says as though she’s posted much since Christmas...), but I do have lots of ideas in my writer hat that I just have to actually, you know, write.  I have two that I’m loving but I have no bloody clue where they’re going (one being Draco x kind of an OC and the other being Drarry).  But there’s a stack.  More google docs than I dare count.  So I promise that eventually (slowly) there will be things coming.

For a while I was honestly really stressed that I wasn’t writing and posting fics, but the truth is, I just like writing, and when I get to finishing a piece, I’ll get to it.  There’s no point worrying or stressing over something that’s meant to be fun.

I hope all of you are staying healthy and safe.  I think school has started for a lot of people right now, so I’m wishing you all the best with your semesters!  Try to do as I say and not as I do lol.  Practice self care, drink water, stop for meals, stretch, get sleep, tend to your mental health.

TW covid: As cases continue to rise where I am, I want to remind everyone to remember to practice safe hygiene practices like washing your hands, social distancing, and wearing masks properly!  Just because you may not become critically ill doesn’t mean that everyone around you won’t.

There’s probably more things that I was meaning to include in this, but it’s late, I’m tired, I’ve misspelled so much on this post already, and I think I’m gonna cut it here for the night.

TLDR: I’m still around, but school is a monster of work right now.  Hopefully soon I’ll have a balance figured out so I can practice self care and start writing again.  I’m slowly working on WIPs and eventually those will be posted.  So in the meantime go read Sub Rosa and it echoes through (both linked above) by Sb and Lilly because they’re awesome and their work deserves kudos.  Take care of yourselves and good luck to everyone starting school.  I’m wishing you all well! -S

Currently reading: I’m reading AO3. The whole thing. Well, the Carry On things (and some HP). I actually really want to reread CO, but I shoved it into my roommate’s hands and told her to read it. (I don’t think she is. But I don’t want to take it back. What if she does read it?? A snowbaz stan? In my house? It’s more likely than you think--if she ever reads it. That woman has been riding the Drarry train on AO3 for 15 years. Let’s mix it up a little babe.)

Food craving: Super fudgey chocolate ice cream with brownie pieces and cookie dough and slathered in some Peanut butter.
