was thinking about why the fandom focuses on callum's devotion to rayla more so than the other way around - even if they're equally nuts in a lot of ways and i do think the focus is 60/40 - and i think a lot if is really comes down to callum just being 'easier' to love than rayla like, objectively, especially in arc 1.

he's sweet and goofy and emotionally open, he can be insecure and get stuck in his head but that's very internal, he makes mistakes but never anything too major, at most interpersonal relationship wise he can be a bit pushy or momentarily cruel, he's a prince and wanted peace with the elves from the start, he never really causes massive disasters and when he does there was a 50-50 chance it was going to work out anyway or if he is taking a massive risk, thus far it's really only involved risking himself.

he's cute and caring and has never really broken her heart (as she maintains hope even throughout his bouts of cold shoulder in s4). of course she loves him. of course she'd risk everything and anything for him. and even in arc 2 when he's being cold, he's still caring and still knows when to step in and support her

rayla is like... a much more 'difficult' character and person from the start. she lies repeatedly, especially to cover up her failures, she can swagger without actual substance, she's snarky and stand offish and can be snappish. she breaks at the worst of times and often leads to other people being put at risk. she abandons him and breaks his heart. she showed up threatening to kill him. she blew up their lives together and repeats the same mistakes over and over again.

on a surface level and on an interpersonal level, she's far more of an overt piece of work, whereas callum's nastiness comes out more sparingly and is more hidden under the surface; it's not always so apparent. but rayla's typically is, she is a moonshadow elf who fundamentally cannot hide her flaws even when she's trying to so hard

and callum loves her anyway.

he's endeared by the snark, he persists past the standoffish, she pushes him away and he keeps coming back to try and help her, he gets angry but he ultimately (and always rather quickly) forgives her, he's had multiple people telling him that she's bad and cannot/should not be trusted and just flat out doesn't listen to them, because he believes so fundamentally in her goodness, even or especially when she doesn't believe in it because of all the reasons above. he knows she can be difficult and he either doesn't care or loves her not in spite of those things but because of those things. and that's what's so appealing about that aspect of their dynamic.

callum is a wonderful walk in the park when it comes to catching feelings with only a few hiccups, and so often rayla is a ditch with spikes, and callum just goes "challenge accepted" every time (and succeeds) because he knows/believes that she's worth it (and he's right)

Ive mostly only seen fox and deer,, also some fish for pirate/hc10!gem, and i have a tiger!gem design but i havent seen many other animals outside of the swap games

When I say we can only reflect I mean it. Many people believe that with manifesting there's sth "we must do" to trigger a sort of events that will finally help us see the "key to manifesting "

I remember seeing this post on reddit (which I will link) and it literally says:

" when u change ur clothes in the mirror, do u do it to change ur reflection or do u do it to change you? " bc this is literally the perfect example for the 3d.

When u change sth, u don't don't do it to change the outer, u do it to change YOURSELF . U can only change yourself.

Here's the best part, everything is made up by the opinion that u have of it, ur state is cultivated and harvested by how truthfull it is to u. Once u accept imagination as the only true reality it gets easy to move through states. Not only is the 3d an illusion, to me it doesn't even exist.

You should acknowledge the state you're in now , however bad it is, and once u admit how u feel now it gives u freedom to move to another one. This is when u get to play with ur imagination and feeling.

The only way for u to see sth is true is to identify as the inner man, u literally are ALWAYS the inner man even if you were not aware of it rn.

That's what loa bloggers mean when they say you're doing nothing new, you're just learning that you're the inner man and can do what u want instead. You are surrounded by yourself.

Be patient with yourself and don't force anything. When u identify as the inner man u will see yourself as an "instant manifestor" bc u can make an elephant show up in ur imagination if u wanted to.

Many are afraid to change, not bc it's sth new, we're afraid of what comes AFTER or what comes ALONG sth we want. This gives our power away.

You can only change self. When h change your clothes, u change them for u, not the reflection.

on today's episode of Hashing Out Concepts Theatre, i spent a while today while waiting for my new fridge/freezer to be installed after my previous one died and i lost all my food hashing out a bunch of concepts for another game idea i have. (rest assured i'm not actually working on it as a game yet i just like to bash out a framework for things every now and then to make my brain do happy chemicals lmao)

putting all of this stuff under a cut since it's a bunch of images and also in case people aren't interested XD

i am regrettably a huge fan of comic books (mostly DC) and i've seen a couple of comic book inspired IFs popping up lately, though when it comes to my own interest, i'm definitely more into a straight interpretation of a comic book universe than a more. the boys-style universe - i'm into the camp lol, not so much the grim and gritty stuff. (though that's just my own personal preference)

anyway the idea behind That's Just Super is something that i really like about certain comics - giving the villains more of a purpose and rounded existence than just existing to be in somebody's rogue's gallery. the joker's angry defence of the batfamily from various other DC evil forces, lex luthor's furious resistance against brainiac alongside superman because it's His planet, damn it, DOOM throwing in with the heroes in every second marvel event comic... i really like stories where villains and evil characters don't always make the Most Evil choice just Because, but have clear and explainable motivations that sometimes bring them into what we'd consider a 'good' alignment because unlike in d&d, there's no real such thing as a concrete moral alignment.

the basic idea is that an inexplicable cosmic event removes all of the superheroes from the planet, leaving it vulnerable to attack by evil mindflayer style aliens - unless the supervillains who remain are able to band together despite their more unpredictable, less cooperative natures and save the planet in the heroes' absence. after all... if aliens take over the earth, the villains can't take it over themselves.

here's my fun little UI design idea lmao...

the other major thing about That's Just Super that i've been hashing out is the pc. the basic idea is that you pick your villain identity from a list but you get to customise their like. birth name and secret identity, while the villain identity comes with its own name, costume, and set history (including occasionally past romantic encounters). i like playing around with the way that IF works with the idea of mcs and customisable mcs so i just thought it'd be a fun twist... it also allows me to create nice drama by having set occurrences in the past lol.

so i did some profiles for the nine villain options - three each of the DC triad of tech/metahuman/magic origin. they're all based on a specific kind of villain archetype, and i really tried to limit myself to ones where i could definitely pin down more than one specific influence so it didn't end up like me just making too many analogues haha... even if some of the influences are probably pretty obvious.

weirdly i haven't even Thought about ROs yet since i've been so focussed on the pc... maybe i'll play around with the partially set background idea even more and only have 1 possible RO for each villain choice or something. maybe a couple that you can romance as anybody... not sure. (talionis could definitely have a messy broken romance with his superhero for example)

Every year for the month of October I make a movie calander- one horror movie a day, every day, for the entire month. My problem now, is that after three years of doing this- I'm starting to..... well, run out isn't the right way to put it... but it's starting to feel like I've seen most of the big hitters.

So the question I'm throwing out there is:

Fans of horror, what movies would you reccomend for this year's October watch?

I'm looking for anything and everything. I will watch silent black and white films. I read subtitles and I'm not opposed to hunting down a niche foreign horror/thriller. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE SPOILERS I would like to go into the movies blind (trigger warnings are very welcome, though)
