#i legitimately cannot procrastinate any longer#the only way i am getting my meds after a month off of one of them is if i do these long and tedious errands#but also i've been working six days a week for a few weeks now and last night my body straight up gave out on the train#i had to drag myself the half mile walk home by forcing myself to speedwalk so i could stay focused on my surroundings#(walking home in the dark my beloathed)#and when i got home i landed face first in bed and only got up to get dinner and then brush my teeth#so my body is still incredibly weak and angry at me#but alas#my ramblings

Going to college as a nontraditional student with an office job is kinda funny bc now when a professor messes things up in a way that fucks me over instead of being like "omg this authority figure is so unfair 😭" I'm approaching it more with the vibe of like "if Karen from Accounting doesn't fix this mistake that's hindering my work after my third passive aggressive email I'm going to CC her boss"
#my professor has multiple things messed up on her online course that are actively preventing me from preparing for the midterm exam#1. the notes she uploaded for last weeks lesson are in an unviewable format (its a .bin file? she converted an image to binary code??)#2. she hasnt uploaded the content for this weeks lesson yet. and that content is going to be tested on the midterm#3. both her syllabus and the review guide she uploaded mention a pre-midterm test thats worth 2% of our grade#and i think is supposed to help us prepare. but she hasnt uploaded that or even mentioned it at all?#4. the exam itself isnt in blackboard yet. which wouldnt really be a cause for alarm if it was any other professor#i would just assume they were probably waiting to upload it until the day of the exam#but given everything else shes messed up so far im worried she messed something up with that too and it wont get uploaded at all#so. she said in the syllabus that we should message her directly in blackboard with any questions and she'll respond within 48 hours#but my first message was sent on friday. it is now tuesday#she said to send a follow up if she doesnt respond within 48 hours. i sent a follow up yesterday morning and she still hasnt responded#and im not going to wait another 48 hours when the exam is in 3 days and she still hasnt even uploaded the final lesson that will be on it#so. shes getting a text from me at the phone number she listed now like#if she doesnt respond to that within a few hours then i might call#and if she doesnt respond to THAT then im going to put it in an email and CC the head of her department or smth#bc we NEED to be able to prepare for the midterm. its THIS WEEK. some people are actually scheduled only TWO days from now#its already bullshit that shes including this lesson on the midterm when the due date for it is AFTER the exam#but then shes also THREE DAYS LATE (so far) uploading it??#AND she hasnt uploaded the pre-test or even mentioned it at all???#rambling#this professor is gonna get a BAD review from me man#its already bad enough that her online course is structured so poorly that its hard to even tell what we should be doing each week#and now this shit

anyone interested in talking about the iconic 2000's middle-grade-bordering-on-ya book series gallagher girls??
#okay incoming rant about this series#i read the first book when i was 10 or 11 and i was absolutely obssessed with it. i read it so many times i had the entire story memorized#the issue was that i could not find the rest of the series anywhere. it was either sold out or out of stock#and then i found out that only the first 3 books had been translated into my first language so at that point i kinda gave up on them#anyway#flashforward to a couple of weeks ago#i was re organizing my bookshelf and on the back i found LYKY (is this how y'all are abreviating it??)#and remembred how much i loved it#and since i'm now fluent in english and was stuck at home recovering from a surgery i decided to download the entire series and read it#to find out what the fuck happened afterwards#long story short i read all six books in 4 or 5 days#and i haven't stopped thinking about them since#it's actually so funny how little information we have in the first book#i went all of these years thinking it was mostly a silly series about a boarding school for spies when actually SO MUCH happens afterwards#i can't believe i went all of these years unaware of zach goode's existence#truly character of all time#but also i can't stop thinking about how interesting it would have been if zach had come to hate the circle and his mom during the series#rather than before#make it a true enemies to lovers#and have us witness that portion of his character developement in real time instead of being told about it#like him slowly realizing through cammie and his time at gallagher that maybe what they were doing is wrong#i think it would have been very interesting to read#although let's be real it took me until halfway through book four to trust him and he was fully one of the good guys so..#but yeah i have a lot more to say but these tags are long enough#gallagher girls#okay i just want to add another funny anecdote about my experience with this series#my copy of LYKY has an age warning in the back recomending that readers should be above 13 yo to read it#and i distinctly remember finishing it and thinking the warning was kind of dumb bcs besides a few mentions of death and other heavier topi#nothing really happened#and now i realize it was a warning for the rest of the series not just the first book because jesus fucking chirst everything after

Update; I got back into working on charms today!
I had a busy last week or two and hadn’t really had a chance or the energy to start drawing this once since i finished Ayda, for reasons that frankly are a bit boring to go into detail about here, but I’m excited to get back into the swing of things now!
I’m really quite happy with his wings so far, i think i figured out a good method for drawing them >:3

hc that one thing everyone in the batfamily knows without doubt is: alfred knows everything. hidding anything from alfred is a waste of time and energy, because he always just knows. so they simply don’t. they dont need to tell him, but they dont need to hide it, he always knows anyways.
however, the thing is alfred is just a regular old man who spends all of his time cleaning, cooking and making sure they dont die. he doesnt have time to be figuring out what the bat ninjas he has for a family are hidding so most often than not he doesnt know. it doesnt help that no one in the family ever tells him anything, because they expect him to just know. he just has a really really good poker face and an inability to be surprised by much so everyone just assumes he already knew once he discovers anything.

no literally this is how its been the last couple weeks
#leaving the call center to start a job that'll give me a 'maybe rent an apartment' level pay increase and a 4 day weekend#antidepressants may or may not be working but I've been able to engage with my biggest hobby in a way that's been difficult for months#got a guitar so now i have ANOTHER hobby I'm having fun getting started in and not being discouraged when I'm not good at it right away#yknow for once. unlike i usually am with everything i try to do#and using a lot more of my second language and realizing that im actually pretty decent at it so i have a new motivation for practice again#also i was just luxuriating yesterday in the fact that i went a whole couple of weeks without any Fucking Things happening#you know how adulthood is just one Fucking Thing after another and every time you finally put out one fire theres like 3 more#well for the first time i went like 2 full weeks without any Fucking Things happening i got to just live my damn life.#so yeah things in late January were actually going really good for me as long as i don't remember every few minutes that#i and my community are at the center of the culture war and being directly targeted by several evil regimes around the world.#avpost

Sekaiichi hatsukoi is so much fun bc the tyrannical boss who takes their job way too seriously and the new employee who doesn’t know a damn thing is such a relatable concept and you can plop the entire cast into whatever au you want and it would still work just as well
#sekaiichi hatsukoi#I spent my last shift trying to put the characters into a lab work au and it still worked#Ritsu as the son of a hospitals ceo who got a cushy day shift job in microbiology at his dads hospital fresh out of lab school#he loves it and he’s good at it but he overhears the nighshifters talking shit abt how good he has it and that he doesn’t have to work that#hard bc micro is slow-paced and honestly it’s usually the same species of bacteria so it isn’t that hard to identify the species#so he quits and gets a job at a rival hospital but he’s put into a 2nd shift blood bank position despite never having worked in it#takano is the lead tech who comes down hard on anyone who makes mistakes bc this is literal life or death#it’s not just streaking plates and doing fun little biochemistry tests then putting the sample into the crispr to verify#the most advanced technology they have in bb is the cell washer. convenient but not as helpful#his first few days there are just back to back massive transfusion protocols and he genuinely wants to crawl into a hole and die#things calm down after his first week but it’s a huge learning curve and no one has the patience or the time to properly train him#emerald can all be blood bank specialists. Yokozawa is the head of histology.#having trouble finding roles for everyone else#kirishima could be a pathologist and Yukina could be a receptionist at a medical office while he goes to phlebotomy school(?)#or nursing school. something like that

Good thing that despite all the depression and constant rock bottom over the last years I've been hoarding lots of writing so when I finally start working at the library and going to media school I could try to use connections and get some stuff published or just put it out there for people 🙏🏻
#in the town where the library is they host short film days every year and i wanna look into the guidelines and maybe try to participate#i have so many film ideas or even just like music videos i only need people to make it real with#which i might find in the city where the school is because that's like one of the creative capitals in the country#and event technicians go there too along with marketing and media people plus i could go abroad within those 3 years which i hope will work#in the schedule i saw they're sending me to a specific music library in a major city for a few weeks too!!#in addition to the regular library there and since they mentioned basing the internships on the apprentices' interests#i think they did the music library one for me because at my test day in december i mentioned going to the record store after this 🥰#university library and city archive and educational film hire service are also on the list of internships which is so cool???#anyway yeah while i don't have anything to put on my resume for the last 2 years except for 4 months hospitality and some internships#i at least have a whole bunch of poetry and songs and stories and ideas which in this case i could name in an emergency maybe 😭#did you know 2023 was my most productive year in terms of original writing? and the first half of that year was pure hell#last year i wrote tons of stuff too i just didn't post it for reasons unknown (wanting it to be perfect and complete)#mel talks
