Alternate idea for TFA Optimus being stranded on Arachnus Seven instead of Elita-1. First off he doesn't turn into a spider. Nope, I'm going for another creature that lurks in caves but tend to eat critters like spiders: BATS.
Fun fact: Optimus Primal's original design had been a bat before it was replaced with the gorilla we know and love. As for the OP here... I'll going for multiple inspirations so he can truly be alien like. Mainly because the 'bat' Animated became was an equal level predator to the Arachna Seven Spiders.
This four winged species which I'll call 'Arachna Nebulas' went extinct due to outside interference as the bat genus in general are very sensitive to changes in their environment. We all know what happens when an ecosystem is heavily disturbed. Optimus was lucky enough to find intact enough remains to become Vetaleus Prime.
Vetaleus being a word play on Vetala, a mythological vampiric bat like entity that takes over cadavers. Fitting as in a way OP is dead whether it be to those he once knew or his old self. For Arachna Nebulas, it's from the Cosmic Bat Nebula that can be found in Orion's Constellation.
Now I have two types of inspiration for Vetaleus Prime. One from the real world while the other is media consumed over the years. For bot mode, I introduce you to Yu-Gi-Oh's King of the Feral Imps and Digimon's VenomMyotismon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Considering he had remains for this reformat than an alive specimen, OP's techno-organic nature has glaring differences when it comes to his modes. His thick fur becomes large mane like clusters around the helm/wrists/ankles while thinning out half way down his torso as defensive measures shift to the bones of the secondary wings become spikes and horns.
A 33 ft bulky frame meant for sheer force whether it be large powerful claws n talons, sharp piercing teeth to drain a prey's life, powerful tail that can flatten, or even large ears which can hear an ant breathe. Vetaleus Prime's bat like face doesn't help in portraying his gentle yet nervous nature and his still Autobot colors remain under scrutiny. No stereotypical evil Fateswap OP's in this house.
Onto the Arachna Nebulas' mode, I have fictional inspiration alongside three real world ones. Meet the Golden Crowned Flying Fox, Vampire Bat, White Honduran Bat and Monster Hunter's Paolumu!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Optimus is very fluffy in alt mode as the Nebulas' thick fur prevents the spiders from injecting their venom into him. Akin to the Paolumu inspiration than just visage, there's a special air sac in the neck that allows the species to not only float but also spit large blasts of pressurized air if their hammerlike tail slaps don't do the job. Here's the boss fight from Monster Hunter World for further details.
Vetaleus Prime's alt mode is built with the 'bob and weave' concept. Dodging the opponent's strikes while landing your own attacks on them. His larger upper arm wings makes it easier to move and adjust his trajectory in float as the secondary protects the less fluffy parts of the body.
In alt mode Vetaleus has more animalistic mannerisms. Growling, purring, roaring, and whining to convey his mood. He grooms himself like any other animal much to confusion of those around him.
Those mannerisms are still present in bot mode but Optimus tries not to unless alone or around others he trusts. He can't escape from nesting though. One of the ways to our bat bot can make himself feel comfortable and safe.
Like with Arachnus Prime, Vetaleus Prime goes into self exile knowing that Cybertron will never accept him. He ends up on Earth because of poachers who visited Arachnus Seven to capture some spiders to sell on the black market. A conflict that leads to a crash landing before canon occurs.
Optimus here has a more harsher craving when it comes to organics as his primal nature no longer has those giant spiders to satisfy him. It isn't uncommon for the deer and bear population to decline but also poachers or illegal hunters to disappear. You can say Vetaleus Prime holds a feral grudge on this specific group. Unless he has a good supply of oil than Cybertronian are in sheer danger from a feral episode.
Vetaleus craves companionship but isolates him due to fear. He has hurt others before and doesn't want to harm innocent people or much worse a companion. A fear made more apparent from his feral outbursts if refueling needs aren't satiated.
Ways to sustain this primal nature becomes more difficult once Vetaleus is forced to make the sewers his den. Stealing from food delivery trucks WILL happen if he cannot find ample resources in time. A desperate action that solidify his cryptid status as the 'Detroit Devil', escaping with the quarry in hand before anyone fully sees him.
Vetaleus Prime does his best to remain being hidden and indulge soothing hobbies like reading or knitting than cause people potentially dangerous strife. A task that might become impossible when the past ends up in Detroit. Or the haunting realization of what can happen should Vetaleus fail to satisfy his other side.
Team Elita-1 best be careful. An innocent monster is just as dangerous as any other. Optimus rather not sink his fangs into someone he considers a dear old friend but evil will not miss an opportunity like this...
That's it for now! Until next time folks, I'll see you back at the crossroads between Detroit and Cybertron! Now Transform and Roll Out!

Evil HERO Neos Lord
When I talked about the recent Yubel card, I mentioned it being a love letter to GX. This card is similar to that; it's just the evil version. (Also more potentially spoilery, if I'm being honest). For those unaware, this card features Neos sporting The Supreme King's outfit to awesome effect. So many little details from his outfit were transferred over here that it's wild; the purple gem on his chest and the two red triangles pointing towards it look like the clasp for his cloak, the gold detail on his torso matches up with the way his coat is buttoned (which the black markings on his thighs/crotch are meant to mimic) and even the non-mask part of his helmet making an appearance as more of a neck guard. The SK's mask meshes so well with how Neos' face normally looks, right down to the diamond shaped gem on both their foreheads. Again, like Yubel and Flame Wingman, I'm genuinely surprised this combo didn't come up earlier. The similarities in design are just so remarkable that they mesh together perfectly. Evil Neos does get to take it up a notch beyond the SK by transforming his cape into a flared wing look with the inclusion of wing-like structures sprouting from behind his shoulders. I'll be honest... I think this is my favorite version of Neos now. No it's not just the red/black/white/gold color scheme but... That does help a lot. Also, normally the extremely detailed, American comic book style muscles bother me on Neos cards but here? They don't really register to me at all, because I think the black coloration helps hide them.
Rating: 10/10

What Your Favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds Girl Says About You
[Main Girls Only][DM][GX]
Aki Izayoi/Akiza Izinski (likes the second half of the series): You are pretty chill, and almost definitely a Faithshipper. You’re very fond of doing all kinds of scenarios of their first meeting. You write at least one thing per day appreciating her development. You really, really like the rollerskates episode. Even if it could have been better, you still love Yusei giving her Stardust. You get really sad during the ending, but you know in your heart of hearts that they definitely kissed offscreen.
Aki Izayoi/Akiza Izinski (dislikes the second half of the series): You got the taste of a girl who was straight-up unhinged, and you've been chasing that high ever since. You find bondage jokes incredibly funny. You have at least one very strong opinion about Crow. Despite your feelings on the second half (most of which can be described as "seething"), you have a soft spot for Sherry. To this day, her battle theme still generates a Pavlovian response of swooning tears in you.
Ruka/Luna: Your soul aches every day for her wasted potential. You started reading the manga the moment you saw scans of how it did her. You were very surprised when Ancient Fairy Dragon got banned. You have edited characters to be wearing flower crowns at least once. You’re still not quite sure what to think about her brother, but you definitely wish Life Stream had showed up earlier. You spent eighty episodes waiting for a followup for the end of Ep. 67, and are still waiting.
Carly Nagisa/Carly Carmine: You are a Scoopshipper, with no questions asked. You were utterly horrified when you found out about the cult thing (even if your source may have been somewhat inaccurate). You refuse to rewatch the second half of the series, and have devoted lengthy fanfics to what really happened afterward. You aren’t sure if you like nerds or goths, and you’re glad you don’t have to choose. You have tried to do Fortune Fairy-based readings in real life.
Misty Lola/Misty Tredwell: You may be into Isolationshipping or you may be into Omenshipping, but regardless of where you fall, you are certain she loves women. You saw that bit where she cradles Carly’s face and went “god, that girl is lucky.” Your favorite part of the whole DS arc was when she has Ccaryhua swallow Divine whole. You are very, very angry she’s not in Duel Links yet. (Like, I wrote this in 2021 originally, and she's still not in it? What?)
Sherry LeBlanc: You actually don’t hate the second half, but it’s largely due to her. You have either watched Revolutionary Girl Utena, or have been told several times that you should watch it. You may not be a Roseknightshipper, but you definitely have an LGBT headcanon. You have mixed feelings about how her arc ended, and would have preferred if the entire season was just her running around kicking stuff.
Martha: You hate every single other parent in every other series because you have seen her episodes and beheld a standard none have yet lived up to. She takes no shit, she's a rain of sunlight in a land of misery, she sacrifices herself tragically. Why the fuck did she barely appear after Dark Signers? You just want to talk to the person who made that decision, you say while loading a shotgun.
Mikage Sagiri/Mina Simington: You may be a Careshipper whose favorite arc is Fortune Cup, or an Ushio/Mikage shipper whose favorite arc is Dark Signers. Either way, you just really, really like office ladies, okay? You either think she's cute, relate to her beleaguered nature, or both. Also, did you know there's no ship name for Ushio/Mikage? I didn't until recently, but you definitely do.
Stephanie: Man, you picked the biggest third wheel in the entire franchise and a woman who only appears in the second half to be your fave, huh? That takes a lot of guts. And to my immense surprise, despite her entire existence being "waitress" and "one-note obsession with Jack Atlas", you have decided your OTP with her is Carly. Rock on, Stephanie fans, you make the world brighter.
Misaki: You decided to go dumpster-diving in the video games and found a gem. You understand that the only thing that could have made Bruno's arc better is if he was also Rei Ayanami. The bit at the end where she finally smiles melted your heart like butter in the sunrise. You insist Watts are underrated. You sadly know deep down that there's a reason the only female Yliaster member is non-canon.

Anyone remember that one time in yugioh where Kaiba threw Joey on the ground, Bakura was like 'check his pulse Yugi!' and then Joey had a kinky furry nightmare with him and Kaiba because he lost so badly? Also Kaiba threatened to kill himself if Yugi didn't let him win a duel.

Different Paths: Optimus Prime
A series unique to this blog. Similar to my Trollhunters Path of the Familiar poll, it'll have three different mini scenarios per a character, the point of time where the major change occurs, and how it'll affect things in their respective universe.
For this one it shall be Optimus Prime specifically his Transformers Prime iteration. Well his Orion Pax incarnation as this occurs during those days. Either a feral Sparkling out in the wastes or the humble data clerk. After all, the start can cause the greatest ripples. Let's get begin!
Feralus Prime
There was an urban legend on Cybertron. A cryptid born from the wastes who made itself a den hidden amongst the populace of Iacon City. No one knows what the being was but the feat it perform garner an infamy unlike any other. Feralus stole the Matrix of Leadership.
Yup. A Feral Optimus Prime who didn't get integrated into Cybertronian Society. Orion Pax slipped out of Alpha Trion's grip during transport so the young Sparkling became lost in the big city. He stole what he can to survive and slipped away from whoever try to catch him.
Soon the fateful day came where Orion obtain the Matrix of Leadership. Did he steal it? Sorta of as lured would be more accurate. Orion Pax is like a feral dog before he got the Matrix. Skittish, quick to run, nab what garners his attention and most likely to bite if cornered.
Feralus/Optimus Prime is closer to a wolf with the Matrix of Leadership. He studies the situation, gauges the threat and acts with appropriate force. Instincts often guide where goes almost if someone is leading him. Optimus ends up on Earth by stowing away in a smuggler's ship.
He won't be lonely for long as a younger Raf will one day stumble upon the feral Cybertronian. Now Team Prime isn't actually a 'team' and is closer to refugees. Their contact with Agent Fowler can be chalked up to surveillance. Any serious 'Con activity is measure and handled appropriately.
Way more tight knit so events such as Cliffjumper's death is voided. Our three human protagonists become vital in not only getting Optimus socialized but ready for the encroaching danger. A lone wolf can't protect the entire pack after all.
Magnified Disaster
The Planet Cybertron has all manners of darkness lurking amongst the populace. Common thugs to corrupt politicians. There is a silent rule when it involves such folk. Watch your words. Or else you end up a twisted experiment like Orion Pax.
A conversation between Megatronus and Orion was overheard by the wrong person. On his way home, the data clerk is kidnapped for one sole purpose: experimentation. This latest test was the creation of a 'guard dog'. An enhanced Cybertronian bigger, stronger, ferocious and obedient.
*Anyone in the Madness Combat fandom knows what I'm about to do. For those who aren't, poor Orion Pax is going to become an unconventional MAG. A supersoldier created through mutation that's obedient to those they consider their master. Here's an example: normal Hank and Mag Hank.*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One fateful night, a certain grumpy medic stumbles upon a completely transformed and Energon blood soaked Orion. 35 ft tall mesh between Cybertronian metal and organic material consisting of crimson foreign clay like flesh, white sharp teeth, to pale spikes.
Ratchet becomes the altered archivist's caretaker and looks after him. Orion's personality remained mostly intact but his memories are spotty. As for the Matrix of Leadership, it became a desperate gamble to help stabilize the poor clerk's altered state.
Optimus Prime doesn't lead the Autobots thanks to his MAG status. The entire team are refugees who sought asylum on Earth. Unfortunately Optimus' past followed close behind as Megatron wants answers...and vengeance. Things come to ahead when three particular kids encounter the 45 ft titan that roams the desert at night.
Two Souls, One Body
Ever since the beginning, Orion Pax shared a body with 'Optimus'. A shapeless voice that serve as a guide and older brother figure to the young Cybertronian. It is only when the archivist came across the Matrix of Leadership did 'Optimus' become so much more.
Or Optimus Prime and Orion Pax are two separate entities. Anyone here watch Yu-Gi-Oh or know about the original protagonist Yugi Muto? In the show, an entity known as Yami Yugi lives inside a ancient Egyptian artifact called the Millennium Puzzle.
Through the puzzle, the two souls can switch control of the body. Or in this case Orion Pax can allow Optimus Prime to take over using the Matrix of Leadership. Just like Yugi, there are subtle differences that point out whose in control.
Orion's blue optics are a bit rounder and narrow if Optimus is in control. His voice is lighter when the shy data clerk manages their body. Finally Orion's battle mask has blue stripes that vanish when Optimus takes the lead.
This ability is mistaken for multiple personality disorder by almost everyone except for Ratchet, Megatron and Bumblebee. Only more observant or younger Cybertronians can notice the different air between both individual souls. A warm sunny day to a cool summer night.
The mystery of Orion Pax only begins to open when a certain red painted Cybertronian takes a different detour towards home base. Who knew three human kids are so good at hiding stuff? Ratchet needs a drink for the shenanigans to come.
That's it for now! Until next time folks, I'll see you later! Transform and Roll Out!

No, but the fact that sending someone/something to the shadow relm is still a pretty widely understood pop culture reference should tell you EXACTLY how successful Yu-Gi-Oh was.
Do I feel robbed that it was initially supposed to be a horror manga that mentioned the card game maybe twice and was geared mainly towards teens and young adults? But the author began using the card game more because that's what readers responded to? And eventually, it was picked up by an American cooperation who heavily sanitized and censored it so they could sell their card game to kids?
Yeah. Maybe a little.
But they made the right choice, is what I'm saying.

Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters Verse Info For Gao, Tasuku, and Suzuha
(Note: These verses are written in the context of the events of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga by Kazuki Takahashi, and do connect directly to the canon of my Mokuba specifically. However, they can be easily adapted or written to not include connections to Mokuba and or adapted to fit the Anime's story. In addition, the inclusion of these characters in the storyline of my Mokuba does not have to be present in any interactions had with Mokuba either. These are meant to be a basis/starting point for interactions not a end-all be-all. I am flexible and this can all be discussed at the individual level.)
General Set-Up That Applies To All Three
The Game of Buddyfight
In the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!, games are a way of life and have a deep history in the world itself. They help connect and bring people together, whether it's for fun, recreation, or to decide the fate of the world. The world has tons of popular games, and one of the new and upcoming games is known as Buddyfight, a game with many similarities to that of the popular Duel Monsters game created by Maximillion Pegasus.
The game was created by one of the many companies under the famous Amanosuzu Group. This conglomerate is headed by Lord Amanosuzu and will be inherited one day by his daughter, Lady Suzuha Amanosuzu. The game was developed around the same time as Duel Monsters tailored mainly for the market of children, but has grown to be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is more of a niche game title compared to the worldwide phenomenon of Pegasus' creation, but it is still enjoyed by many people.
Much like Duel Monsters, the game has a connection to the supernatural, but the creators did not know this at the time of creation. It is connected to a series of parallel worlds (Dragon World, Star Dragon World, Darkness Dragon World, Magic World, Dungeon World, Hero World, Ancient World, Danger World, Legend World, Katana World, & Lost World) where creatures of all sorts reside. The first connection between the two worlds began when a young boy known as the 'Boy of Destiny' that had lost everything was reached out to by the heir to the noble Jackknife clan of Dragon World, who was destined to be the boy's protector. For this 'Boy of Destiny' was fated to save the world and protect the future.
The existence of this connection is not made public, and to almost everyone on Earth, Buddyfight cards are just cards used for a game. However, as the bonds between players and their monsters become stronger, so does the potential for more connections between these worlds to be formed.
A year following the events of the main story (AKA 6 months after DSOD is over), Buddyfight has grown in popularity to the point where the existence of Buddy Monsters no longer needs to be hidden. This means Buddyfighters their monsters can sometimes be seen walking around both Domino and Cho-Tokyo (more common in the latter), with more Buddy Contracts being formed than ever before thanks to the official authorization of them from the Buddy Card Office run by the Buddy Police.
The Buddy Police
Initially started in the coastal city of Cho-Tokyo but has since expanded to other regions of the world, the Buddy Police is a police force specially tasked with dealing with gaming-related crimes. These crimes can include something as common as cheating in official gaming events, to something rare and horrific like having underground death games. They are both their own force of authority, but do work with local law enforcement often.
The key members of the force include its commander Commander I, its intelligence officer Stella Watson, its chief officer Tsurgi Takihara, and their special field agent, the Buddy Police Boy Wonder aka Tasuku Ryuenji. They fight to uphold justice and protect the people, especially children who are more often than not victims in crimes.
Recent reports of a large amount of death games being played in the nearby city of Domino in Japan have forced the Buddy Police to take action. They have sent their chief officer and the Buddy Police Boy Wonder to investigate the situation and gather intel undercover, not knowing that the games being played here were no ordinary death games that they have experienced. Supernatural forces were involved, forces that have a history spanning back to 3000 years ago in ancient Egypt.

Skills: Aiki-jujutsu martial arts, Buddyfighting.
Story Description
Gao Mikado attends Aibo Academy, a Pre K-12 school sponsored by the Amonosuzu Group located in Domino City. There he is a member of the special Buddyfight course, a course that allows him to focus on building his skills in the game of Buddyfight in addition to regular schooling education. He is a relative newcomer to the game itself, only starting when he began 6th grade, but has taken up to it very fast and has been known as 'Dumb Luck Gao' around the school grounds after his miraculous defeat of famous prodigy, Tasuku Ryuenji during his very first game.
He is not only good at Buddyfighting, but is also a national champion at Aiki-jujutsu martial arts, even competing against adults. He helps his mother out in their family dojo sometimes with running classes for the community, such as a self-defense class. He also has been an instructor for self-defense and other martial-arts related elective courses at Aibo.
Gao loves to hit up the local arcade and card shop scene when he's not in school or training, always looking for an interesting challenge. It was at this arcade that he met Mokuba Kaiba, and became fast friends with him. The youngest Kaiba brother even taught him Capsule Monsters Chess, as well as Duel Monsters. In return, Gao and his mother teach him self-defense.
Gao, aside from being known for beating Tasuku, is known locally as the Mighty Fun Fighter, a fighter who is known to beat up bullies and protect the weak. He has a passion for fighting just as much as he does Buddyfighting, but is not the type to physically hurt people with his skills. He will not hesitate to fight if needed.
Gao is the second person to make a Buddy Contract with a monster on Earth. Unlike other humans, over time he eventually makes connections with three very different dragons, Drum, Bal, and Batzz, who all share the title of his Buddy. His best friend Baku has created separate decks for each one, as well as a deck for all three as well. Any of them can grant Gao their power via a Buddy Skill (a special power granted to a fighter by their Buddy Monster), which manifests as a sun-themed skin-board Gao uses to fly around and get from place to place.

Story Description
Tasuku Ryuenji is a member of the Buddy Police and a Buddyfight Prodigy known as the 'Prince of Buddyfight'. At the age of 9, his family passed away in a huge natural event known as the 'Disaster", leaving him alone and stranded in a mountain range for three days. During that time, he realized his own powerlessness as a child and wished to become an adult in order to help those who cannot help themselves, and that desire resonated with a being from another world, Jackknife Dragon Findar The 100th. Jack came to Tasuku in the form of a Buddyfight card, and manifested his true form in order to shield and protect Tasuku from the elements until he was found by civilization. It was after his rescue that he joined the Buddy Police and was taken in by Mr. Takihara.
In addition to being the first human to connect with and form a contract with a Buddy Monster, Tasuku also possesses a power known as the Future Force. This power, one that comes from his future self, is accessed through Tasuku's Buddyfight deckcase, the Star Pulsar. With it, he is able to make the power of his cards into reality, a power he uses only in extreme circumstances. He can also gain the power of flight in the form of two green rings on his feet through Jack's own power, aka his Buddy Skill.
This power and Jack's existence are kept a secret. Only those in the Buddy Police, Mokuba Kaiba, Gao Mikado, and Lady Suzuha are privy to this sensitive information, and Tasuku wishes to keep it that way. Jack disguises himself either in his card form or through the form of a plushie. He can communicate with Tasuku telepathically in these forms if needed.
He is sent to Aibo Academy as a student as a coverup to investigate the increasing game-related crimes and gather information. It was through this that he met Gao Mikado and became good friends with him, including offering to be his first opponent in Buddyfight. He has a history with Lady Suzuha not only due to being 7th grade classmates, but also due to her family's company creating the game and him being often asked to help promote it.
Tasuku's first major act since coming to Domino was his direct involvement in the aftermath of the Death-T incident at Kaiba Corporation. It was there he met Mokuba Kaiba, who he helped during the period of his brother being in a coma. It was because of meeting Mokuba and hearing the full story (including what Kaiba's real dream is) that Tasuku ultimately decided to not press charges on Kaiba Corporation for their death games, the younger Kaiba's insistance his real brother will come back to him one day just as Yugi Muto had promised him he would. Though, Tasuku wants to meet Seto Kaiba himself, to gauge with his own eyes whether what he experienced at the hands of Yugi was enough justice and to determine what kind of man he is to become.
In addition to using a Dragon World deck, eventually, Tasuku becomes in possession of a deck from Star Dragon World that becomes his main deck. This occurs after some training he and Jack underwent in that parallel world, and upon completing, both were granted the powers of Star Dragon World, becoming the first fighter and buddy for that world in existence.
Lady Suzuha Amanosuzu(The Heir to The Amanosuzu Fortune)
Bio
Tumblr media
Name: Lady Suzuha Amanosuzu (Everyone calls her Lady Suzuha, Suzuha-Sama, or Senpai. Only her dad or Mokuba calls her by her first name alone)
Age: 13
Family: Lord Amanosuzu (Father), Lady Amanosuzu (Mother, Deceased)
Residence: Domino City, Japan (Sky Home), Mount Fuji, Japan (Castle Home)
Friends: Mokuba Kaiba, Gao Mikado, Tasuku Ryuenji, Jin Magatsu, Genma Todoroki, Megumi Mamakari, Sebastian (Butler) Sadako and Mitsuko (Attendents)
Games Played: Buddyfight, Chess, Capsule Monsters Chess, Duel Monsters.
Ace Card: Center of the World, Mary Sue (Magic World, Buddyfight)
Skills: Dancing, Buddyfighting, modeling, singing, designing, delegating, acting, arts & crafts.
Story Description
Lady Suzuha is the only daughter of the famous Amanosuzu Family, owners of the Amanosuzu Group, a huge conglomerate consisting of many companies across various industries such as gaming, mining, construction, and more. She is a rather elegant and savvy young lady, always able to see an opportunity when she sees one. She is a 7th-grade student at Aibo Academy and a member of the special Buddyfight course for her grade. She also partakes in extracurriculars relating to business, charity, and the arts, including having her own arts and crafts club that Mokuba is a member of even before he joined her at Aibo Academy in his high school years.
The game of Buddyfight was her own buisness venture. Everything related to it is handled by her and her assistants of the Amanosuzu Group. However, Lady Suzuha was not the individual who made the game itself, rather saw its potential and decided to take a risk on it, which turned out well in the end.
Being someone of high status and someone of influence in the business and gaming worlds, Lady Suzuha has, of course, powerful connections in those spaces. One of those connections is with the Kaiba Family. She met Mokuba Kaiba at a business event hosted by the previous head of Kaiba Corporation, Gozaboru Kaiba and that connection she later used to try and form a business relationship with the company once Seto Kaiba became president, but became a good friend to Mokuba in her own right (in fact she was his first friend post leaving the orphanage and is the person who has been his friend the longest).
Around the time of Gozaboru Kaiba's death, she fell out of contact with Mokuba for around six months. From her point of view, he was 'grieving' his step-father's death (since she was unaware of just how AWFUL of a person he was) and hence why he sort of 'needed space' after a while. She heard from him again following his brother falling into a coma suddenly, and the two reconnected, even being present when Mokuba made the lockets for himself and his brother.
