he knows you hate him, but something in him refuses to stay away from you. so dan heng wraps his tail around your wrist, or leg, or waist, if he feels you won't protest too badly. he hates being away from you for too long - 'too long' meaning any duration longer than a second, and so he always likes to have some part of him in contact with you.

sampo

he's horrible (affectionate). he likes tucking you into him back first, one arm locked around your waist - never mind that it's summer, and the both of you are sweating through your clothes. sampo's only goal in life seems to be making you as uncomfortable as possible.

jing yuan

you often find yourself waking to a scene out of a fantasy romance novel - jing yuan, his hair golden under the early morning light, gentle smile full of affection, one arm draped lightly over you. he's surprisingly comfortable to sleep with, and doesn't make you feel like you're being held hostage - i mean, you are, just not to the bed.

blade

a menace, and tough to boot. he crushes you to his chest with both arms, leaving you no room to move and barely enough to breathe. he seems to have no concept of how strong he is, and it takes a combination of cajoling, kisses, and kicks to his shins to get blade to let up a little. good luck going to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

I just consumed so many media these days and my mind are restless. And my doodles also not coherent lol.

This week I start from watching D&D movie, reread some danmei and play Honkai star rail and Genshin impact. So I just doodle whatever characters like from those media. Oh and Howl made an appearance because I never not like him 😆

the unseelie court.

fae au

unlike fae jing yuan, fae yan!dan heng is better acquainted with the quirks of humans. it’s just better not to get involved with humanity in general, with all its iron and pollution and pain.

(funny he might say that, being of the unseelie court.)

his dragon’s horns mark him as having a high status with the unseelie court - arguably the wilder and more cruel of the two courts, so one could say his stance on humanity is odd for him. where most of his faction enjoy leading humans astray, using them as entertainment until they always, ultimately, break under a fae’s whims, dan heng seems to hardly care that humans exist.

he has no inclinations towards coercing one into his own burrows, neither is he interested in the sweet warmth of human flesh (in more ways than one).

but dragons are poison, and it’s only a matter of time before he corrupts one of humanity.

yingxing - or blade, as he’s better known - hates dan heng. for whatever reason, none of the fae know, but it is entertaining to see a guard with such animosity towards his charge and often a topic of gossip.

blade is what one might think of when they mention the unseelie - blood-amber eyes, hair as dark as night, and a hauntingly beautiful stance with his weapon, like a knight of the moon. and stoic. stoic and dangerous and silent.

yet, just like dan heng, he seems not to care for humans. he accepts any that occasionally fall into his lap, who have too loose a leash and wander away from their original fae… partners? (though partner might not be the word for it, seeing as there’s no equality between human and fae.) but other than that, the fae have never seen yingxing deliberately leave faerieland to seek human flesh for his own pleasure and to fill his stomach.

and yes, blade is a fae that feasts on people. or drinks from? like a vampire.

One thing I've been noticing on the Couple of Mirrors rewatch is how multiple people reference or ask the question of how Xu Youyi met Zhou Heng. It's one of the questions Xie Yifan asks in their interview, and it stays unanswered. I really like that, because you don't assume that the way they met was anything out of the ordinary, that there might have been anything less than harmonious and happy about their relationship before Zhou Heng started cheating on Xu Youyi. But at the same time, the question is asked and never answered. The natural assumption is that it was a happy moment, and then you find out that it really, really wasn't.
