Ok so you know how in Yo-Kai Watch we never get a Hovernyan backstory? Well I made one, and then that evolved into an entire questline for YKW 3. Really long post warning lmao.

After the main story, once you clear the Terminyator quest as Nate, you have to have Illoo, Alloo, and Elloo in your Medalium. When you eventually go to your bedroom in Springdale, Hovernyan is waiting for you. He says that you remind him of himself when he was alive, and Whisper inquiries on what he was like. However, Hovernyan can't recall. He says that there's a forest in Breezy Hills, called Windy Woods, that he remembers being a big part of his story. He says there should be Yo-Kai there that can tell you about legends and, possibly, what he was like. This starts the "Wind-blown Memories" mystery questline.

Go to the left side of the road that wraps around Shoten Temple. There is now an opening that leads to Windy Woods. Talk to the 3 Yo-Kai NPCs in there and you will get information.

One will state that there roams a beast, deep in the woods, that will kill anyone who dares trespass. Another one recalls the sounds of footsteps running from a big shadow, many years ago. The last one claims that there was a boy in here once, but nobody knows what had happened to his body.

Hovernyan will be waiting outside the woods, and after you tell him the info, he exclaims that he remembers the monster. He says to come back tomorrow to help him defeat the beast.

When you go to bed, Illoo, Alloo, and Elloo spawn in, initiating a cutscene. They all wave their sticks in the air, creating a red fog that engulfs the screen. It cuts to a black "loading" screen.

When the screen finally shows, it pans to a boy and a cat attacking a well-worn tree in what looks like older times. The boy's mother calls for him. "Joseph, it's going to rain soon! Come inside!" Joseph, who we now know is the boy, looks at the cat and scoops him up. "Come on, Moxie. Let's go. We can train more tomorrow..." He sounds disappointed.

The camera fades to black and opens on a bedroom. It's pretty barren, aside from a cot and a Moximous Mask poster. Joseph sighs as he looks at the poster, then turns to Moxie, the cat. "We need to fight stronger things if we want to be like him," he says. "...hey, I heard there's a strong enemy in those woods out near the temple. We should go defeat it." Moxie lets out a soft meow of approval. "We'll go tonight, when Mom is asleep."

The camera cuts to black once again, and then another cutscene plays with Joseph sitting on his cot. He picks up Moxie and puts her in a makeshift backpack before standing up. "Ready?" he says. The cat nods and the player gains control of Joseph. You can explore a little, but your goal is to get to the Windy Woods.

Once you reach the woods and step inside, you are tasked with walking in further. A cutscene then plays with Joseph walking through these dark woods, and a shadowy figure beckoning to him from deeper in. He follows it deeper and deeper, and as he stops to look for it, is instantly hit by a large hand. Moxie jumps out of the backpack to try and save Joseph, but it was too late. They were both knocked back into a tree, and were dying. The monster, a huge squirrell-deer like Yo-Kai, growls and walks away.

A voice acted scene plays out. With his last dying breaths, Joseph reaches over to Moxie, scoops her up in his arms, and whispers: "In life... or in death... you will always be my hero." Tears fall down his face as his last breath escapes his lungs, and they lie lifeless. Their bodies disappear and are replace by Hovernyan and a new Yo-Kai, Meowxie.

Nate wakes up in a sweat after this dream, and it seems as if Whisper and Jibanyan had the same one, too. They tell Hovernyan everything, and he sighs and gets even angrier at this monster.

As you go into the woods, deeper and deeper, you find the monster Yo-Kai, and initiate a boss battle with it. After defeating it, you can go into a cave area that hosts Meowxie inside of it. Hovernyan and Meowxie have a heartfelt reunion, and you get Meowxie's medal. This ends the questline, and the "Mystery Solved!" cutscene plays.

The reward for beating it other than tears? A Moximous Mask poster and a special item for Meowxie, the Heroic Collar, which increases her SPD by +30 and ATK by +50. Meowxie is an A-Rank Yo-Kai from the Brave Tribe, with a decent spread more focused on damage and the ability Moxie.

Gojo Satoru sees you for the first time at a mutual friend's party—and immediately his eyes get stuck on you. the entire time he's watching you drink leisurely at the end of the couch, and roll your eyes at the dude bros attempting to flirt with you, while you ignored them.

after 40 mins of staring, he comes up to you and shoves the guy —pathetically trying to get you to sleep with him— off the armrest of the couch you're sitting on. Satoru just ignores the guy shouting at him and and throwing a fit on the floor. he takes a seat on the armrest instead and looks you dead in the eyes, and goes;

"you look like someone who thinks men ain't shit and would probably make a face that alone would make me cry."

you raise one of your eyebrows at him just a bit amused. confused whether he was trying to pick a fight or what else was he trying at. he goes on and continues what he was saying;

"so please fuck me."

tgcf au where hc’s true form is Wu Ming. it’s what he looked like right after he died, and even if he reinvents himself, even if he’s gained more strength and power from the Kiln, he still can’t grow or change but so much without involving shapeshifting. his canon form is the one he built for himself, the one he created with the intention of becoming an entirely new being (not weak or helpless, like he used to be before he sculpted a new identity), but it isn’t his true form. his true form is still that bony little waif of a soldier, the one that tried to so hard to help his god but couldn’t truly fix anything in the end.

and now, imagine just how much xl is going to lose his mind when hc inevitably shows him this true form (after much hesitation, but hc really can’t deny his beloved god anything and he would never want to, even if he’s practically ready to dissipate from the shamefulness of that awful body). think of hc changing into the half-starved ghost of Wu Ming, not expecting xl to even remember the ghost — let alone recognize him — and then think of just how hard xl is going to cry when he realises that Wu Ming is still here and still following him after all.

Yes.

And this-this is making me insane. Because imagine, the (1) time Odysseus shows any form of physical care/reverence for Paris, it's when he's hurting & bleeding from wounds left by Odysseus' true love, Penelope. Odysseus is there, but at the same time, he's not & like every other time, he's not loving Paris.

In canon, the red string between Odypen is a perpetually unfinished shroud & an olive bed. Here, it's the violence they feel the need to inflict on the same person who's the cause of their separation.

Those calloused hands are gently tracing over Paris' wounds, the other steadily applying salves & bandages, but the prince can see the hunger in Odysseus' eyes. The restrained desire to dig his nails into the damaged skin & tear it further apart. Will bet that he takes perverse pleasure in getting Paris' blood on his hands after countless nights spent fantasizing seeing it spill.

"Does it hurt?" Odysseus, man who knows so very much, asks.

"Yes." Paris settles on honesty. He has no energy for anything else.

"What was she like?" there, a hint of vulnerability from him too.

Paris could say nothing. But then, he would be left with nothing, not even this artfully crafted moment of superficial care.

So he tells Odysseus everything. He spares no details. And Paris doesn't need Aphrodite's blessing to know that with every word, Odysseus falls in love with Penelope all over again.

i dont know how to Articulate my thoughts abt this but like. im deeply fucking surprised i haven't seen any 3zun fics where it would fully lean into jin guangyao's severe parental issues. like maybe im just too svssspilled (its totally me being too svssspilled thanks 'i wouldnt abort you' sqq) so the freudian angle analysis comes way too easily to me for it to be normal but like. someone else has gotta be seeing this shit right. rancid desire for approval meng yao couldn't get from his father specifically was already deeply seeped into his relationship with nie mingjue from the start. sideyes lan xichen and raises an eyebrow. "the child desires to kill its father for it is in competition for its mother's affection", huh? shit kind of writes itself and my primary reason for even considering this angle is that jin infamously committed actual incest and later also kicked out his half brother for trying to flirt with him guangyao would absolutely hate it

Playing so much Yo-Kai Watch 2 on an emulator that I made some Yo-Kai Watch OCs!

Cuz I was like, "what if a boring ass adult had a yo-watch?" and made that into a character!

The butler was a bit trickier to figure out, but ended up setting with a Whisper-knock-off that's a fake kitsune (aka "fox yo-kai")

Tomnyans backstory is that he got hit by a truck, then the ghost mafia came, ransacked his owners home, then used an ufo to rancher his wish as an apology for wrecking their home while they were away and the wish was to get Tomnyan back so he got replaced with a magical clone of himself and now he has sworn revenge on the ghost mafia with the magical ufo
