ok ok ok ash, i hope you’re ready for my HCs—i can’t seem them being as good as u bc u set a high and but i’m gonna give it an honest effort.
1. ambivert leaning towards introvert? u prefer having a smaller group of friends that u can let loose w & u social battery takes time to recharge.
2. not a big fan of alcohol? like—u try it, gives u the ick & the you’ll nurse the same drink for a long time.
3. u were the smart kid in school—slightly overachieving, liked sitting in the front, had the answers type
4. you’re good at like. crafts and stuff? all that DIY stuff—bracelets, jewellery, photo frames idk
5. not a big sports person but swimming is good stuff
6. u have a high pain tolerance (this has to be true bc what u told me about ur tattoo—)
7. ur parents r pretty chill w you and u get a lot of only child benefits but ur also not like. a spoiled brat?
8. a rambler!!! can talk for days about anything & everything, interspersed w so many tangential stories & events
dude you said you don't see them being as high as mine and then having the first one dead on correct is most i didn't study for test but topped class behaviour jsjdh
1- my irl friends have this ratio that is just my speaking and interacting with people is inversely proportional to the no of people. it doesn't matter if these are people i have known all my life. like at max i can stay at my bffs house for 5 hours then i Just start getting the hives and it's too much
2-ohkay so i haven't gotten hammered yet (haven't had the chance, but so far my experience was that i liked it enough, i am cautious with it tho but that's more getting caught by family ke karan wala scene)
3-i wish lmao why do people have this perception (you're definitely not the first) but i was an above average kid till like 10th. i had something of a harry scene like where he's smart but he doesn't have studious habits so it didn't really translate to grades you know. the sitting in first bench thing is slightly true (i want to sit infront at time cause i can't see past my hands without glasses,my eyesight is just the most whack thing)
4- oh yeah this is dead on like i didn't do jwellery but i did make a lot of other creative stuff as a kid loved arts and crafts. I'm that stationary friend even now my pouch is 1/2 kgs 🥲
5-ooh so i love running (like track/relay races and stuff) i love cycling just the feel of being so fast that the wind just kisses your face and you get the temporary relief from heat or the world even becomes blur i love that feeling
also love swimming as well tho but besides that don't like any games that involve balls so you're right in a way
6- yeah you're right about it, even rn i ahve a injury which i thought i was adequately describing to mom but turns out just sayin I'm okay and it's not that bad when it is bad doesn't work who knew 🙃
7- bhai so you're dead on for half that I'm not a spoiled brat (also does anyone else physically get the ick when they have to compliment themselves in any form and even if it's a very true statement)
but while i am an only child. my parents are bihari which idk if you've heard about them but they have a reputation ™
they are the strictest species to be on this planet and that's why i am Machiavellian and just like a liar ™
8- did you by chance speak with my friends cause!!!!!! i get this so so so much i can't be on a topic for more than 5 mins. i could start with history of earth and will somehow reach to the depths of feminism and it's reality in india to some meta discussion about a character
I'm that one friend that's just like- so what topic were we in again
the other friend : which one of these 18 topics are you talking about
over-all dude you've got a pretty good idea about me 🫂

I've been feeling asexual lately
I’ve been feeling somewhat asexual lately. Every time i go out on a date, hang out with a cute gay friend, or hang out with someone who wants to be something-in-between with me, i don't want to do anything intimate with them. No kisses, no sex, only cuddles. I can feel the attraction from their side but i just feel like i have this wall in front of me. It makes me want to reflect on my life more. I hate the word "to reflect", the fuck does that mean like go fuck yourself never say that to me ever again. Anyways...it makes me want to think about my daily life again. It must be coming from not feeling satisfied with what i'm doing on the day-to-day basis.
First of all, my job. I don't feel like i fit in, i'm not even trying to fit in anymore. I feel guilty for being at this job, it seems like i'm wasting everyone's time. You know when you're young, it feels like time is going by so quick and you need to "make it" on time before you get old. I still feel this way, somewhat. Especially living in such a big and fast-pased city like toronto, it makes you want to run faster and faster until your engine has set yourself on fire. After all, what are we running towards? Innovation? We can't wait but get ourselves to the space? Escape our planet to find other life that will make us change our beliefs about what life is. What are we running towards? Why do we need to be stressed all the time? My job is taking away all of my time by sucking me dry and fucking me in every whole because i fucking hate it. No, i'm lying. I don't think i "fucking hate it", I think i just dislike it. I don't like the clients, the main clients i guess, i can't think the same way as my coworkers think. it's all straight dudes, i can't fucking relate to them. i want to work with women. i want life to be more sensitive. i want to feel life when i work. i feel like my eyes are burning, my back is breaking, my brain is not working when i work. Why do i have to work this way?
Anyways, that paragraph got a lil too long. fuck it. What i wanted to say is that my job is taking 80% of my time and i'm not fucking enjoying it. Will it benefit me in the future? maybe. do i know for sure? fuck no.
i haven't been honest with myself or anyone else lately. my boss, my mom, my dad, my sisters, my friend that i only go out to raves with, my boyfriends that i go on dates with just to rest my brain and get head, and myself.
Second of all, i can't connect with anyone that i meet these days. yeah this one is struggling, ya that girl is working two jobs, hmm that guy is going in on his side hustle, ou yeah that man is feeling a little lost in life, oh that girl sumi or whatever keeps raving about her new cigarettes, hah that girl emma keeps asking me what skirt she should wear cause she's going out with this cute guy and can't wait to get her pussy ate after her shitty restaurant job with no prospects in sight. and where am i right now? i don't like my job and it's fucking with my self-esteem. are we all supposed to sit down, talk to our therapists or friendapists [friends who you dump everything on you at 8am in the morning while they're doing their makeup to go to their new exhausting freelance job] about how much we hate our lives and then go to our jobs that we give -5 fucks about?
yeah this paragraph barely talked about what i even wanted to talk about. who is doing what i want to do? i need to talk to those people but i can't seem to find them.
I think it's time to start taking action. i'm going to start looking for new opportunities, new design studios, artists, and designers that i can work for, and maybe there can be even a brand that i can be involved with. I'm tired of fucking sitting around not knowing what i'm supposed to do. even if it is a mistake, let it fucking be. i'm tired of being wishy-washy about my life and decisions. let me fucking be.

Rebel - Chapter 2
Main Masterlist
Series Masterlist
Summary-  (Y/N) Is a Matt Murdocks 14 year old daughter who is just entering high school and is really struggling. She doesn't have a regular life having a blind father. He can't help with homework, Can't give her a have a ride to school, He can't see how often her face falls when she lies to him. Of course she has her Uncle Foggy and Aunt Karen but (Y/N) feels like to much of a burden until the one and only Frank Castle comes into her life and seems to be more of a father figure  then Matt ever was.
Tumblr media
Your (E/C) eyes slowly open to the sun peeking through the curtains. The sound of cars and people going about their day is heard. You look over at your alarm clock to it reading 8:20 AM. 'Oh no... I slept in!' You suddenly sit straight up throwing the comforter off of you and dash to the open living and kitchen area, your eyes darting around.
Your father Matt Murdock is no where to be seen and you let out a sigh. "Of course he is gone..." You grumble as you go into the bathroom and look in the mirror. Your (H/L) dark brown hair is sticking in all different directions, your eyes have bags under them, and you feel like death. You were never a morning person but you dealt with it for the slight chance you could get a few seconds to spend with your old man but of course he always seems to escape you. You pick up your tooth brush and run water on it then put tooth paste on it and run water over that. (There is no other way of brushing your teeth if you don't do exactly that you are a monster.) You had this routine. You would make breakfast, Then you would brush your teeth, take a shower, hang around in your room with the towel wrapped around you until you felt like getting dressed, then you would brush your hair and get ready for school. Since it is the weekend however you didn't feel the need to make breakfast. 'If dad stayed true to his word we might actually have donuts for breakfast.' The lazy train has just pulled into the station  as you threw on your favorite pair of clean pjs and walked out to the living room and sat on the couch. You sit there for a good few minutes until you feel to antsy to stay still and stand up again. You glance over at the small round table seeing the empty plate from last nights food your dad ate. You decide to pick it up and begin washing dishes... Which lead to sweeping... And then organizing... Which lead to cleaning the whole place.
You were wiping down the coffee table when you hear the front door open. "(Y/N) I'm home!" Matt calls out from the front door. The smell of the beloved baked goods in his hand wafting through the air. "Hey daddio! Whatcha got there?" You say peeking your head around the corner to see your dad placing his cane against the wall with this left hand and holding the donuts in his right as he guides himself into the main living space. "Oh nothing really... Just the best breakfast ever!" He says holding up the box of donuts which you snatch out of his hand and make a mad dash over to the couch and set the delectable donuts down on the newly cleaned coffee table. "Thank you Thank you Thank you!" You say in excitement. "Oh come on (Y/N)... You dare steal from a blind man leave some for me." He says making his way over to the couch sitting next to you. "Fine, fine you can have some but the glazed and Strawberry filled ones are mine!" You says picking one up and taking a bite out of it savoring every bite. Matt chuckles. "Alright fine." He says as he starts eating his own.
There is a small silence as you both finish your first donut. "So how is school going?" Your dad asks. "Its okay nothing to special going on... How is work?" You ask. "Work is work... you know how it is." He says taking a bite out of another donut. You scoff "Yeah totally."  You grumble glaring down at the donuts as you take another one and shove it in your mouth. Matt tips his head to the side slightly looking in your general direction. "Everything okay sweetpea?" He asks sounding very concerned at your tone. "Yeah everything is fine." You say as some crumbs fall from your mouth. "Just didn't get much sleep last night..." What you said wasn't a full lie, you didn't get to much sleep last night. "How is Uncle Foggy?" You asks changing the subject. "Did you guys crack any cases?" There is a smirk on your lips. "Foggy is fine (Y/N). And no we don't "Crack" cases." He says with a laugh. "Oh you know what I mean did you win any? Do you have any new ones? Give me the dets man!" You says scooting closer to him out of excitement. " (Y/N) you know I can't give you that type of information. Its classified. Client privacy." She sighs "Well you must have won something because you were out so late. You were probably with Aunt Karen and Uncle Foggy at Josie's partying it up." You say shutting the box of donuts seeming to have had your fill. " (Y/N) we don't party. That isn't our style you know that." Your dad seems to be getting antsy at all of the remarks you have been making. "No actually I wouldn't know because I'm not exactly allowed to be out of the apartment at night and I'm not allowed at Josie's either. You get to have all the fun." You say with a slightly annoyed  tone. "What is that suppose to mean (Y/N)? What I do for work isn't fun." He says sternly. "Uh huh yeah okay..." You stand up.
"What's up with this attitude all of the sudden?" Matt asks. "Nothing is up... I'm on my period!" You say maybe if you say something like that it will change the subject. "Okay okay okay I didn't need to know that... Look I'm sorry. I know you're stressed and so am I. How about you ask one of your friends to hang out and blow off some steam and then maybe later we can go for a walk in the park and go to that deli shop that you like so much or maybe the diner that we use to go to on Sundays after church. Would you like that?" He asks. "Yeah... That would be nice... Thanks dad." You say turning to him and he stands up. "Any time sweetpea" He give a small smile and opens his arms for a hug. You hug him. "I love you dad... And thanks for the donuts" You say with a smile. "Is that an "I love you dad" because of the donuts? Or what?" He asks with a laugh which in turn causes you to laugh as well. " Well you being my sweet treat supplier is a plus maybe you can add that to the "Awesome Dad" resume." You say letting go of him and he ruffles your hair. " Alright I will keep that in mind. You go ahead and call your friends and then tell me where you will be hanging out and for how long. If you still want to go out to eat I want you back by 1:30. What time is it now?" He asks. You quickly run to your room and grab your phone. "Its 10:45!" You shout from your room. "That's plenty of time to hang out with your friends. I hope you have fun! Now go call your friends!" He calls out and he grabs the donuts from the table and sets them on the counter.
You dial your best friend Jenifer's number and on the second ring she answers. "Hey (Y/N)! Whats up!" Your friend sounds excited. " Nothing much. I was wondering if you would like to hang out. Maybe we can bring Abigail and we can go hang out in that ice cream shop or maybe go and hang out at the bridge like we use to or we can just walk around!" You say excited. "yeah that would be awesome! Where do you want to meet?" You look up slightly thinking "How about my street corner." You ask. "Alrighty I will see you there!" Jenifer says. "Alright bye!" You hang up then start getting dressed.

Defending Family-Technoblade, Wilbur Soot, and Tommyinnit
This is a Brother!Technoblade & Brother!Wilbur Soot &Brother!Tommyinnit x gn!reader. This is not in the dreamsmp but it is in the SBI AU where Philza is the father of Wilbur, Technoblade, Tommy and in this imagine, Y/N! In this, Y/N is younger than Wilbur and Techno but older than Tommy
When Y/N hears the school bully talking shit about their family… Well it’s no surprise when that bully gets hit.
Y/N’s POV
“Y/N! Wake up!” The annoying voice of my even more annoying brother sounded as a pillow smacked me in the face waking me from my sleep. My eyes shot open and I made contact with Tommy’s blue eyes, “Ow Tommy! What the hell?!?” I exclaimed, sitting myself up, rubbing the bridge of my nose trying to ease the throbbing pain. Tommy simply threw his head back and cackled before bolting out of the room.
I let out a sigh before throwing the blankets off of me before getting out of bed to get ready for the day. It didn’t take long. I stripped off my PJs and threw on a random outfit before making my way to the bathroom to do my business. As I was brushing my hair, Tommy pounded on the door, “HURRY UP Y/N! I need in there!” He yelled from the other side of the door. I rolled my eyes and yelled back, “You should have thought of that before you woke me up! You can wait!” Tommy continued to knock on the door, annoying me even further.
Finally, once I was done, I swung the door open causing Tommy to stumble forward. I smirked as he caught himself and looked at me in annoyance, “Finally!” He let out, walking further in while I walked out. “Shut up,” I responded, the door slamming closed behind me.
I made my way downstairs to the kitchen where I found my father over the stove and my two other brothers sitting at the kitchen island waiting for my dad to finish making breakfast. “Good morning,” I beamed, sitting on the stool in between Wilbur and Techno causing everyone to turn to me for a moment. Dadza grinned at me before going back to his skillet, “Morning honey, how’d you sleep?” “I slept fine. I would have preferred a different wake up call though,” I answered, rolling my eyes at the thought. My older brothers both let out laughs as Dadza sighed, “What did he do this time?” Dadza questioned, turning around, bringing the pan with him. “He smacked my face with a pillow and yelled at me… Nothing new, but still not something preferred.” Dadza nodded as he scooped eggs from the skillet onto the plate before me. He then proceeded to turn and also place a pancake and a couple slices of bacon on my plate as well. “Thank you,” I thanked sincerely, picking up my fork and knife, digging in. “Anytime kiddo.”
As the three of us ate, footsteps bounded down the stairs behind. “Morning,” Tommy called, sitting on the open stool next to Wilbur. “Morning,” the three responded. Dadza moved quickly and filled Tommy’s plate with breakfast before moving to fill his own. “Sleep well Tommy?” He asked, sitting on the one stool that sat across from us. “Yep! Had an amazing dream where I married a hot woman and then I woke up and smacked Y/N in the face to wake them up. Pretty Pogchamp morning,” Tommy babbled, his mouth full of eggs as he spoke. Dadza made a face of disgust, “Please don’t speak with your mouth full Tommy. And please stop smacking your sibling in the face to wake them up, you know they hate it.” “Oh I know they hate it. That’s why I keep doing it,” Tommy announced, smirking at me from the other side of our brother. “If Wilbur wasn’t here right now, I’d smack you,” I hissed, glaring at my little brother. “But he is and so you can’t do anything,” Tommy teased, sticking his tongue out at me. I looked up to Wilbur, my eyes pleading at him to do something. Wilbur got the message and raised his hand and smacked the back of Tommy’s head, causing him to yelp. “Hey!” “You asked for it!”
“Kids! Kids! Please, can we just have a calm morning for once?” our dad slightly pleaded. I let out a deep breath and nodded, “Anything for you dad,” I muttered before shoving more pancake into my mouth. Tommy huffed, but also went back to his breakfast. “Now that that’s over, what are you doing today?” Techno questioned, looking to our father. Philza smiled at the change of topic, “Well there are a few new clients at work that I have been in charge of so I’ll mostly be pretty busy all day. I’ll be home in time for dinner though, do you guys want me to pick something up or can you handle it.” Before Tommy or I could ask for pizza, Techno and Wilbur spoke up at the same time, “We can handle it.” I couldn’t help but huff and slightly pout. I really wanted pizza.
I didn’t have time to dwell on it though because an alarm went off causing the four of us kids to jump into action. The alarm was set in order to get us out of the house because if we didn’t leave at that specific time, we would be late for school. Techno and Wilbur no longer went to high school, they both graduated three years ago. But the two still took us to school everyday so Dadza wouldn’t have to worry about it. Wilbur was the only one that could drive, and as much as he hates to admit it, Techno hates being left alone so he always came along.
The four of us finished the food on our plates, placing them in the sink. “Bye Dadza,” I chimed, giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek before heading to the door. I could hear the other three doing the same before they joined me by the door. I slipped on my back pack, Tommy doing the same, before exiting the house and piling into Wilbur’s car. The ride to school consisted of Wilbur, Tommy, and I screaming along to whatever music was playing, and Techno pretending to be annoyed by the three of us.
“Alright. Get out,” Wilbur demanded, putting the car in park outside the front of the high school. “Thank you Will. Bye Tech! Love you both!” I chimed before getting out of the car. “Bye Y/N, love you too” They responded before I shut the door. Tommy echoed what I had said, getting the same response before he closed his door as well. Wilbur drove away leaving Tommy and I standing there. “Come on Tommathy” I stated before walking toward the entrance of the school. “Don’t call me that” Tommy demanded, but followed close behind me. I threw my head back in laughter and shook my head. “I’ll do what I please thank you.”
Once we were inside, Tommy and I went separate ways. He went to his locker to meet up with his best friend, Tubbo and I went to mine meeting up with my best friend, Sapnap. Sapnap and I became best friends due to our brothers. Dream and George were pretty good friends with Wilbur and Techno and when they went places Dadza sometimes forced them to take me with them so he could take care of Tommy. Dream and George would in turn bring their younger brother, Sapnap, so that we would stay out of their way. We grew very close through all the hang out time and it was like I had yet another brother.
“Hey dork,” I greeted my best friend as I opened my locker. “Hey loser. Have a good night?” He greeted back, leaning against the locker next to me. I hummed and nodded at his question, “Yeah, it was pretty good. Did you get the math homework done?” I asked, closing my locker and turning to him. A panicked look over took his face, “We had math homework?” I couldn’t help but laugh at my best friend’s forgetfulness. “Yes we did. And lucky for you I did it… Yes you can copy it.” I answered his unasked question. Sapnap immediately relaxed. A chuckle escaped his lips as he slung an arm around my shoulder, “You’re the best.” “Yeah, yeah.”
Together the two of us made our way to our first class, but a familiar voice caused me to stop in my tracks, “Come on man. Just give it back!” It was Tommy. Sapnap gave me a confused look as I turned around and marched toward the sound of my brother’s voice. My blood began to boil at the sight in front of me. There, in front of my brother, stood Chad, the school bully. In his hand was one of Tommy’s most prized possessions, his music disc. That was the last thing that our mom gave to him before she passed. He loved it so dearly and was very careful with it. Why was it here and why the hell does Chad have it?
“Oh what? You gonna cry about it? Cry like you did when your mommy died?” Chad taunted, holding the disc close to his chest. It didn’t take a detective to tell that Tommy’s eyes were welling with tears. “Please, just give it back,” Tommy practically begged, holding his hand out. “Oh I’ll give it back alright. I’ll give it back in pieces.” Chad brought the disc out and put both hands on it. Before he could begin to bend it, I snapped. “HEY!” I shouted, stomping up to the three boys, Sapnap following behind me. Chad stopped what he was doing, surprised at the new voice, but the smirk returned to his face once he recognized who it was. “Well, looky at what we have here,” He taunted. Paying no mind to his taunt, “Give me the music disc. Now.” I demanded, glaring at the boy. Chad simply threw his head back and laughed, “No, I don’t think I will.”
“You’re a jerk Chad,” Sapnap spoke up, momentarily distracting the bully, allowing me to rip the disc from Chad’s hands. “Hey!” He let out, his head whipping back to me. “Here Tommy,” I spoke gently, handing the possession back to its rightful owner. Tommy carefully took it before wrapping it back up and sliding it carefully in his book bag. “Thanks Y/N” Tommy thanked quietly. “Anytime Tommy. Let’s go boys,” I demanded before slightly pushing Tommy and Tubbo so they would walk in front of me.
“That’s right! Run away! Just like your father did when things got tough!” Chad called from behind us. His words caused me to stop in my tracks. “What did you just say?” I hissed over my shoulder. Chad simply smirked and crossed his arms, “You heard me, your father’s a coward. So are your other brothers. Wilbur and Techno? Yeah they’re freaks and you’re just like them,” He responded smugly. I felt a tug on my arm. I looked back in front of me and found Tommy standing there with an extremely worried look on his face. “Come on Y/N. It’s not worth it.” I let out a deep breath before nodding and taking a few steps forward once more.
As I was walking, a force shoved me from behind causing me to stumble, “That’s right, walk away.” For the third time today, I stopped walking. A smirk covered my face as I slid my backpack off of my back. I mean hey, he started it by pushing me. “What? Did I make you upset? What are you-” I didn’t let Chad finish.
In one swift motion, I turned on my heel and punched Chad in the face as hard as I could. Chad stumbled back in utter shock, his hand coming up to cover his nose. When he pulled his hand back, it was covered in blood. “You punched me!” He shouted incredulously. “You punched me in the face!” “And I’ll do it again!” In one quick moment, we both rushed forward at each other. Punches were being thrown left and right. A few landed on me, but I didn’t care. The only thing I cared about was defending my family.
At one point, I stomped on Chad’s toes causing him to lose balance and I pushed him to the ground on his back. I dropped on top of him, straddling his chest and just began wailing on him. “Y/N! Y/N stop! You’ve got him! Stop!” Someone yelled from behind me. I didn’t care to listen to them, the sight of Chad helpless under me too much to pass up. As I wound up for another punch, my arm was being pinned to my side and I was pulled off of the bully. “Let me go!” I screeched, trying so hard to wiggle out of the person’s arms. They turned me around to face them and grabbed my shoulders, shaking me slightly. “Y/N!” It was Sapnap, “It’s over. You knocked him out. It’s done!” His words finally hit me and I stopped fighting in his arms.
I looked over at Chad and noticed his eyes were closed and his face was bloody and beaten. I looked down at my hands and found them also covered in blood and my knuckles were busted and would surely bruise. I also knew from the feeling that my face was also covered in blood. I couldn’t help but let out a small laugh at what had just happened. Sapnap looked at me like I was actually crazy. I gave him a little shrug, “Oops.” “Y/N MINECRAFT! TO THE OFFICE NOW!”
So there I found myself sitting in the principal’s office, holding an ice pack to my knuckles. Tommy, Tubbo, Sapnap had given their testimony as to what had happened to the principal before they were sent back to class. Chad was still laid up in the nurse’s office. He was waiting there until his parents could come. They had informed me they had to call my parents as well. I begged them not to call my dad, I knew today was a big important day for his business. The secretary, who knew me very well and knew I was a good kid, agreed and instead called my big brothers to come pick me up. That almost made me more nervous than if my father were to pick me up.
It didn’t take long for Wilbur and Techno to show up. Neither of them looked at me when they walked in, which caused a pit to form in my stomach. The principal gave them a very brief description as to what had happened, just that I had got in a physical fight and was suspended for today and the next two days. “Let’s go,” Wilbur muttered as he passed me, walking out the door, Techno following behind him. I scrambled up quickly, wishing the secretary goodbye before following my brother’s out the door.
The car ride back home was deadly silent. The radio wasn’t even on. Wilbur and Techno didn’t talk to me or each other the entire ride. Wilbur pulled into our driveway, parked, and killed the engine. He remained in his seat though, and didn't make a move to get out of the car, causing me to remain seated as well. “This isn’t like you, Y/N. What the hell happened?” Wilbur asked quietly, not turning to look at me. “He took Tommy’s disc,” I murmured quietly. “What? Speak up,” Wilbur demanded, looking at me through the rear-view mirror. “He took Tommy’s disc!” I spilled, getting it off my chest. “He took Tommy’s disc and wouldn’t give it back. So I got it back and then when we were walking away, he made fun of dad and you two and Tommy pulled me along, but then Chad shoved me so I turned around and punched him. When he continued to come at me, I fought him. I knocked him out. But he deserved it. He can’t just make fun of you and Techno and dad and Tommy and get away with it and-” “Y/N!” Techno interjected, cutting me off. “Yeah?” I asked, kind of breathless. “He took Tommy’s disc? And then made fun of our family? And proceeded to shove you?” Techno questioned, making sure he understood the story. I nodded, “Yeah”
There was a brief moment of silence before Techno broke out in a laugh, causing Wilbur to grin. “Well good on you then!” Techno cheered, belly laughing. “You’re not mad?” I questioned, still a bit hesitant. Wilbur let out a sigh and shook his head no, “I was at first… Well maybe not. I think I was more surprised than anything. We’ve never had that problem with you and it shocked me to the core to get that phone call. If anything I thought it would be Tommy first.” We all had a laugh about that. “But hearing you did that to defend us. Our family. How could I be mad at that?”
Wilbur took off his seatbelt and got out of the car, causing Techno and I to do the same. As I got out, Wilbur scooped me up in a big hug. Techno quickly made his way around the car and joined our hug. “I’m so proud of you for defending yourself and your family. Although, next time I would prefer it if you did it without the violence,” Wilbur claimed, pressing a soft kiss to the top of my head. “I wouldn’t. The more violence the better!” Techno chimed in. Giggles escaped my lips at that, of course he would say something like that. “I think I’ll try and lay low for a while. Although now everyone knows not to mess with Y/N Minecraft!” The other two joined in my laughter. “Come on Y/N. Let’s get you cleaned and bandaged up and then we’ll go for ice cream.” Wilbur said, pulling away from the hug and dragging me toward the house. I raised my eyebrow as we got inside, “It’s 8 in the morning?” Wilbur shook his head and rolled his eyes as he sat me down in the kitchen, Techno leaving to get the first aid kit. “There is never a wrong time for ice cream”
There you have it! I hope you enjoyed! If so, please be sure to leave a like!!

Little Red Corvette p.2 Michael Jackson x reader
(Bad Era)
Tumblr media
Eight Months Later (1983)
I did this pregnancy on my own. My mother was appalled at the fatherless child growing inside of me and refused to support me through my pregnancy. The struggles and frustrations for the past nine months very easily justified when I held my baby boy in my arms. His skin was a beautiful shade of brown, his eyes deep and pulling like his fathers. Looking down at the tiny human finally in the world, there was no question or doubt in my mind who the father was. By blessing or curse, I was the only one who knew who the father was. Relatively early in my pregnancy, Michael released a video for one of his songs "Billie Jean". I sat and stressed over the possibility of him knowing of the child in my womb for weeks, but nothing came of it. No managers offering hush money, no reporters asking about the legitimacy of the child inside of me, nothing, so life went on. Looking down at the life in my arms, snuggled towards me I spoke softly. "Edward Michael L/N. My little blessing."
1986
It wasn't too long after Edward, or Eddie was born that I went back to work. I hired a sitter, or depending on the client, brought him in with me. Whitney Houston and Cher absolutely gushed over him during breaks. When Eddie was three, I got a call from Quincy Jones asking me to help him out on the mixing on an album. I agreed and found someone to watch my son while I worked. Quincy didn't tell me who I was hired for and I didn't want to seem unprofessional to whoever Quincy was working with. I kissed my three year old good-bye and got into my car to head to the studio they were using. "Bye Blessing! Mommy's going to work, but I'll be home soon. I love you so much!" I drove through the California traffic to the studio and parked my car near the front. I checked myself in the mirror before making my way inside.
"Y/N! You made it! Where's Eddie? You know you can bring him any time? Little dude has got potential if you ever want him to get into our world." I laugh at Quincy's antics. "Yeah, I know you love Eddie. Thank you for the compliment, but he's three, Q. He's not going into show business any time soon." Q shrugs his shoulders and turns back to the soundboard in his rolling chair. "Alright, let's get down to business shall we?" He nods and presses play on the vocals. I feel the blood drain from my face as a familiar voice croons from the speakers.
"I don't care what you talkin' 'bout baby, I don't care what you say. Don't you come walkin' beggin' back mama,I don't care anyway"
I stand stock still in shock, flashes of our one night together, my isolated pregnancy, my little boy waiting at home for me. I yank myself out of it with a sharp gasp when Q places a hand on my elbow, his eyebrows creased in worry. "Hey, Y/N, you good? You look like you've seen a ghost. What's going on?" I swallow and tuck my hair behind my ear, a nervous tick. "Yeah, I'm fine Q. I don't know what that was. How're we mixing this one?" He sits back in his chair, taking a deep breath and heaving it out in a large sigh. "Yeah, about that. Smelly's really particular on how he wants each track to sound on this album. He wants his voice to be layered in a harmony with himself during the chorus. He's recorded the audio, now it's our turn to get it just the way he wants." I nod and sit down in my own chair, slipping the large, bulky headphones over my ears to start working. The sooner I can finish working on Michael's album the better.
"Alright! Two music heads working on that was much faster than just me. I've got a few more tracks to work on before the release of the album. You good to come in say, day after tomorrow? Early morning so we can get a lot done. And bring Eddie. I miss my godson." I laugh and roll my eyes, giving Quincy a playful shove on the shoulder. "Works for me. And yes, I'll bring Eddie if the 'Client' won't mind a toddler running around the studio space while we work." Q chuckles and reclines in his chair. "No, he won't mind. I have a feeling you know who we're working for here?" I nod, and grab my purse off the ground. "Alright, you know it's Michael. I promise he won't mind. He loves kids" I nod, not really looking forward to potentially forcing Michael into Eddie's life out of obligation. I drive home reflecting on the strange chain of events that brought me here in the first place. I pull into the driveway and unlock the door. I drop my things on the floor where I stand and catch my little boy running into my arms. "Mommy! Me and April painteded! Come see! Come see!" He wiggles out of my arms and drags me to the fridge by my wrist. He bounces where he stands as I look at his painting. It was surprisingly detailed for a three year old. I smile proudly at him as I turn to my sitter, April. "Thank you for watching him so last minute. I really appreciate it." She just smiles at me and grabs her purse from the table. "Oh, Ms. L/N, it's really no trouble. Eddie is just the best kid ever. He was so funny during lunch. I had the radio playing while we ate and he just sat there, dancing in his seat. He didn't even realize he was doing it! But honestly, he is the easiest kid I have ever watched." I pay her and walk her out to her car parked on the street. I turn back to Eddie with a smile. "Wanna eat and watch a movie tonight with Mommy?" My blessing nods his head so hard and fast, I think it'll fly off like a bobble head with a loose spring. "Alright bud, what do you want for dinner?" "PIZZA!" I chuckle at my little boy. "Alright, pizza it is."
I buckle Eddie in the backseat, and climb into the front seat myself. "We're gonna see Uncle Q today buddy! Mommy has to make some music, but you get to hang out with us!" He kicks his legs in the air and gives a shout of excitement. "Yay Uncle Q!" I turn on the radio and look over my shoulder to pull out of the driveway to get to the studio. Parking, I pull the keys out of the ignition and grab Eddie, reminding him to put his backpack on. I hold his hand as we make our way to the studio, the front empty. I sit Eddie down on the chair and go to grab a cup of coffee from the lobby. "I'll be right back baby. I'm gonna get some coffee, and find Uncle Q ok?" He nods and swings his legs in the chair. I hand him the truck from his bag and kiss his forehead before leaving.
I bumped into Quincy in the hall after getting my coffee and went back to the studio space together. When we opened the door, a slim caramel skinned man was kneeling before my son, talking and laughing with him. At the sound of the door opening, Eddie glanced at us. "Mommy! Uncle Q! I made a new friend! His name is Michael, like me!" I widen my eyes in shock at his innocent chatter. Quincy scoops up his godson and chuckles. "Oh yeah Eddie? And what did you guys talk about?" Eddie wraps his arms around Q's neck. "We talked about drawing! Michael is very really good at coloring!" Q humors his godson, chuckling at the boy who has him wrapped around his little finger. While the two talk Michael lifts himself from the ground and introduces himself. "Hi, I'm Michael. I don't think we've been introduced." He sticks out his hand and I feel conflicted. I was so afraid of him noticing me, connecting the dots, but it hurt a bit that I meant so little to him. In his defense, it was one night, four years ago. I grasp his hand and introduce myself again. "Y/N. I'm mixing for your album with Q. You've already met my son, Eddie." He shakes my hand, and smiles back at Eddie. "He's a joy. I was recording and didn't know he was here. I look up and little guy's just dancing in his seat like crazy. He was just coloring on a blank sheet of paper. Sweet kid." I nod and swallow. "Let's get to work, shall we?" Michael nods and goes to the soundboard to listen to the new version of "Leave Me Alone". I watch Michael bob his head to the rhythm, as Eddie dances in the corner. I nibble and pull on my lips in a nervous tick. The music fades out and Michael looks at Q and I with a smile. "Awesome guys! Just what I wanted. I want Y/N as my mixer for the rest of the album. That good Quincy?" Quincy bounces Eddie in his lap, grinning. "Of course it's good! Gotta teach my godson the ropes right?" I smile and ruffle Eddie's hair lovingly, nodding along. Q, Eddie, and I occupy the main front of the studio space as Michael goes back to record another track.
The day goes by quickly, Q leaving the three of us alone to grab lunch. I sit at the recording desk and write down a few lyrics here and there, a melody and message in my head dying to get out. I glance over at my son and see him and Michael goofing around. I smile sadly, imagining what our lives would be like if Michael didn't leave that morning, if he knew he had a son with me. I guess I didn't realize how long I had been staring at the two until my son met my eyes, causing him to run to me in a comforting manner. "Mommy, what's wrong?" I shake off the sadness and force a smile on my face to keep my caring boy from worrying over me. "I'm fine baby. Just a bit tired. It may be Mommy's nap time soon." He nods and giggles, kissing my cheek before going back to Michael. Michael picks up Eddie, placing him on his hip, and walks towards me. 'Hey, Y/N, if you want, you can take a nap in the recording studio. I've got a couch back there. I can come and get you when Quincy comes back with lunch. I try to turn down his offer, but a yawn interrupts my objection. Michael gently guides me to the studio and sits me down on the couch, exiting and turning the lights out on the way. Against my wishes, I close my eyes and succumb to the peace of sleep.
I groggily pulled myself from the depths of dreamland at the sounds of people talking and laughing. I heard Eddie and Michael talking and it immediately caught my attention. "So, your mom makes music, your Uncle Q makes music, what does your dad do?" I peek out from the window and see Eddie and Michael sitting on the floor, rolling toy trucks around, a takeout container setting on the desk. "I don't know. I don't have a dad. Mommy plays Mommy and Daddy. She goes to all my games, plays with me, teaches me how to put on shoes." From where I stand, I can't see Michael's face, and I decide now is a good time to get back out there. I open the door and both boys look up at me. I glance at my watch and see that it's about time to go home. "Hey, sorry I slept so long. Why didn't you wake me up?" Michael shrugs and stands. "You looked so peaceful while you slept. Didn't want to wake you, let alone let you drive home tired. Lunch got here not too long ago so your food should still be warm. I was actually about to head home myself if you're ok with coming in tomorrow instead? We can keep working." I nod and grab my container. "In case I get here before you, what are you wanting to do with the other tracks?" I eat my food as he goes over what he wants to be done with a couple other songs to be put on the album. Now finished with my food, I throw away my empty container, asking Eddie to pack up so we can head home. Before we leave, Q comes back in, sad that we have to leave so soon. I promise to bring Eddie back tomorrow if that's alright with Michael, which it of course is. I give a hug to Q, and an awkward hug/handshake maneuver to Michael. Eddie practically tackles the both of the men in hugs and races to grab my hand. As we leave, I can faintly hear Michael tell Q "She seems so familiar, like I've met her before."

Come Home to My Heart, Chapter 10 [Final] (Lemyanka) - Plastiquedoll
read on ao3 ✨| previous chapters
A/N:I started writing this and I was like “so it’s going to be around 15k words top” and HERE I AM… no self-control whatsoever… anyway, I’m very happy with the result. If you have made it this far, thank you so much I hope you had a good time reading it and if it put a smile on your face I’ll be more than joyful 💛✨
-10-
Priyanka never –in a million years- thought she was going to feel as relieved as she was when she heard the sound of her car’s engine working again. Yes, maybe it wasn’t the newest car or the best car and yes… it was a gas-guzzler that ate her salary like a snack… but it was her car.
“Have you considered selling it?” The mechanic asked while he cleaned some grease with a rag.
“What?” That man was messing with her.
“One of my clients saw it the other day and liked it, said something about having one like this when she was younger. She asked me if I could extend her offer.”
“No, I mean…” She shook her head. “It’s not for sale, it’s my car and…”
The man handed her a piece of paper with a number written on it.
“Wow… and this is… wow.”
It was more money than what her car costed with the repairs and spare parts included. Way more…
“Can I make a quick call? I’ll be right back” She grabbed her phone from her backpack and called her father.
“Hello?”
“Hi, dad… I’m at the mechanic’s and there’s someone who wants to buy my car…” Her father cackled. “Don’t laugh, I’m serious.”
“Sorry… Your mother is going to be very happy about it. She has been trying to make you get rid of it for years and now you finally have the chance to…well, get rid of it.”
“I mean, I know I won’t get a better offer than this but at the same time… this is my baby and we fought so hard to have it back fully functioning.”
“The alternative was taking it to the junkyard.”
“Does everybody want to see my car turned into a cube of scrap? No need to answer to that.” She took a deep breath. “Do you think you can call the mechanic and check if the offer is legit?”
“I can drop by after lunch and talk to him if you want.”
“Please, that would help a lot.”
She needed to know if this person was serious about paying that amount of cash for her jalopy. Damn it, not jalopy, her car.
“My dad is going to come over after lunch to talk to you if that’s okay.” She explained to the mechanic. “Please don’t tell your client anything yet… I’m not sure I want to sell it.” She scratched her neck.
“No problem, miss. But I should give her a response by tomorrow at the latest.”
“I understand. You’ll have it.”
Priyanka drove back with her car with the windows down like she had done the first time she drove around the town, no music this time, just the tender summer breeze. When she stopped to refuel and at the gas station, she spotted a familiar yellow car parked across the street.
She honked her car horn causing the blonde to turn around with a grumpy frown on her face until she recognized the car and the owner.
“Well, well, well… look who’s back on the road.” Lemon lowered her sunglasses to take a look.
“Guess who’s back, back again.” Priyanka tapped the door with her hand before stepping out of the car.
“That’s something I didn’t think I’d see. I must admit it even looks charming without the smoke coming off the engine.”
“Yeah… that’s-”
She was on her regular witty comments but Priyanka noticed she had big dark circles under her swollen eyes that she kept behind her glasses.
“Hey, are you okay?”
“Me? Ah, you mean… It’s nothing, just my allergies acting up.” She made light of the situation. “I was about to drop by the pharmacy to buy some medicine, actually.”
“Oh, I see… So… Did you two have fun yesterday?” Priyanka leaned back in the vehicle.
“It was cool… for a stupid lake.”
“Oh, c’mon, admit it, you did have fun! You were with me.” She playfully bumped her shoulder.
Lemon smiled but Priyanka wasn’t sure that was honest, she couldn’t decipher what it was yet but there was a hint of sadness underneath.
“Is Rita feeling better?”
“Huh? Ah, yes… I should get her some aloe ointment or an after-sun gel.”
“Remember when your mom used to do that thing with the glass of water when we got sunburn after going to the pool? I still can’t believe the water actually had bubbles after it.”
“Yeah…” She shook her head. “I…. She still does it and kids think it’s a magic trick.”
Something was off.
“I’m sorry but I have to ask you, what’s going on?”
Lemon shrugged. “What do you mean?”
“You’re acting weird today.” She crossed her arms on her chest. “Weirder than usual…”
“I’m not…” She rolled her eyes as the most Lemon thing she had done that day.
“Spill it.”
“I’m not-” She looked like she wanted the Earth to swallow her then she looked at Priyanka in the eye. “I’m going back to New York.”
“Next week… I know.”
“This Sunday.”
“What?!”
“I… have a dance thing soon and I figured it would be easier to go back on a day without the heavy traffic since I’m driving alone. Rita’s staying.”
“Oh.” Priyanka blinked twice trying to absorb the new information. “So you’re leaving the day after tomorrow.”
“Yep… I’m staying for one last lunch with my family tomorrow, the dinner at your house, and then I’m heading back early in the morning.”
“Okay… Uhm… That’s…” She scratched her head. “Soon.”
“I know it’s a bit rushed but… I’ve been here for a couple more days than you and… It’s weird, I’ve never been away from the city this long, I’m feeling a little homesick already.” She avoided her friend’s inquisitive gaze.
Priyanka nodded. “Alright.” She took a deep breath. “So… would you like to hang out today or…?”
“Uh, I can’t… I promised Rita I’d go shopping with her… you know, this was our bonding trip originally.”
“Oh, right… no problem.” Priyanka cleared her throat. “I guess I’ll see you tomorrow?”
The blonde nodded and whispered. “See you tomorrow.”
And that was their cue to leave separate ways.
Priyanka couldn’t wrap herself around the idea of not having Lemon around. It was like time had slipped off her hands like sand grains and there was nothing she could do.
It wasn’t the end, right? It was their new beginning.
Their second chance…
During Saturday afternoon, Priyanka’s mother kept running around the house making sure everything was perfect as if Lemon hadn’t been there before a million times. Not that Priyanka herself wasn’t nervous to have her back there but she was being more realistic, trying to accept the fact that Lemon was going back to New York meanwhile she was going back to Toronto. Their summer together had been cut short but at least they had the chance to make things right between them and this dinner was the stamp of approval of their flourishing new-old friendship.
Friendship.
It was more than she could aspire from the first time she saw the blonde again. It had been just a week ago but it felt like much more time had passed since then and, simultaneously, it was like time hadn’t passed at all. There was a portion of their lives that would ever be crystalized in the past and it would always look pretty and luminous under the light. That was what she wanted to think, at least.
After helping her mother in the kitchen with the basic knowledge she had of cooking -and as far as she let her help-, Priyanka took a shower and spent a long time trying to decide what to wear.
She didn’t know what kind of energy she wanted to radiate with her clothing, not too much, not too little… Lemon always managed to look good no matter the occasion and she had to live up to it.
She finally picked a simple black and white striped mini dress –actually the only dress she had packed-, she put on a pair of black Converse, brushed her hair, and did her makeup hoping for the best.
Lemon was supposed to be there in fifteen minutes and knowing her Virgo-ass she was going to promptly knock on her door at seven o’clock. Therefore, she had just a couple of minutes to check on the mirror before she arrived.
Priyanka went down the stairs just to discover a family meeting in her living room. Literally, everyone but her sister that lived across the world were there.
“Hi, Priyanka!” They greeted.
“Mom!” She yelled. “Why is everyone here?”
“This is a family dinner,” She said casually. “they wanted to see Lemon too.”
“Why did you tell them she was coming for dinner? I thought it was going to be just us and dad…” She whispered.
“She’s family and you said she was going home tomorrow. They all remember her, after all, you were friends since you were kids…”
“I know that but… Is that our picture from kindergarten?” She walked directly to the wall where all their family photos were. “When did you have the time to put this on?”
“I was cleaning the basement yesterday and I found it… completely unrelated to her visit. Calm down.”
“I don’t believe you…”
“You’re the one wearing a nice dress, look at you. You look beautiful.” Her mother adjusted her glasses to admire her.
“That’s not…” She blushed. “All these people have to leave… It’s too much.”
“You’re overreacting. We’ll have a good time.” She squeezed her daughter’s shoulder trying to comfort her. It worked for a moment.
At least half a dozen people were chatting, drinking, and eating snacks plus a bunch of children running around… it was… chaotic. At least something was cooking in the kitchen and smelled delicious.
Exactly at seven, the doorbell rang. The room went quiet.
“She’s here…”
Her heart was about to burst.
Priyanka ran toward the door and opened it.
“Hey-”
The brunette got out and closed the door behind her before she could say anything else. Lemon –of course- looked lovely with a denim button-front romper along with white sneakers. She had her hair down with some butterfly bobby pins.
“Hi.” Priyanka sighed. “So, long story short… My entire family is inside and they’re thrilled to see you again. I didn’t know they were going to be here… they weren’t supposed to be here but… If you want to run away, this is the moment.”
She stared. “I’m not running away… I told your mom I was going to be here and here I am. Besides, I already know your family.”
“Oh, it has multiplied since you last saw them, trust me.”
“Pri, it’s okay. Don’t worry.” Lemon put loose hair behind her ear.
“Alright… Maybe I’m exaggerating.”
“Look at you, admitting it is the first step.”
There she was, the little spitfire she knew. Maybe Priyanka was just imagining what had happened the day before.
She took a deep breath.
“Okay, let’s go in.” Priyanka linked their arms together and walked in.
They got into the living room where her family was.
“Everyone, look how’s here…” The brunette announced.
At that moment the room greeted her in unison.
Dinner went great –to Priyanka’s relief- after Lemon met the new members of the family and she got questioned for a half-hour, Mrs. Suknanan called everyone to sit at the table. They ate tons of food and told stories about their childhood that made her mother rejoice. Priyanka’s niece, Mel, was glad to see Lemon again as well and, in fact, stuck with her most of the evening.
As she should’ve expected Lemon was the perfect guest for their family dinner. She complimented Priyanka’s mother cooking and helped her with the dishes, she caught up with her cousins and sisters and told them about her life in New York, she even played hide and seek with her nieces and nephews and challenged the brunette to a jump rope competition.
“I’m just saying, you didn’t have to go full Jump in! out there.” Priyanka was still out of breath. “These kids used to respect me… maybe?”
Lemon cackled. “Well, you should’ve practiced when the movie had everyone buying neon ropes.”
They sat on the stairs on the porch at the entrance of the house. It was the first time in the evening they were alone, the voices and laughter could still be heard from the inside.
“Hey, thanks for… you know, hanging out with everyone. You’re kind of good at it.” Priyanka rested her head on the wood column.
“Are you suggesting that I might be… likable?” Lemon pretended to be shocked.
“Maybe…” She shook her head. “Just kidding, you’re great… you’ve always been.”
“No, I’m a bitch and I acknowledge it.”
“Look at you, the first step is admitting it…”
“Fuck off.”
The entrance door opened and Priyanka’s brother carried a sleeping Mel in his arms, his wife behind him was holding the baby, they silently waved at them and then got on their car. They were followed by Priyanka’s sisters and finally the cousins who even hugged Lemon and wished her a safe trip back home.
“I think they all left now. My parents are probably inside drinking tea already.” Priyanka checked the time on her phone. “It’s not too late yet, what do you say if we get some ice cream?”
“I shouldn’t…” Lemon looked at Priyanka and couldn’t say no to her face. “Sure. Let’s get ice cream. Is that place on the Third still open?”
“Yeah! Best ice cream in town, I can’t say it enough, I preach it like a religion.”
“Their chocolate peanut butter was heaven, chocolaty and… buttery.”
“Great descriptive skills… but I get the idea.”
“You were the one who got sick after devouring three cookie dough cones and missed school for two days.”
“I really thought I was going to get my stomach removed or something because my sister told me we were going to the hospital. I cried all day.” She started laughing. “Why do we think things like those when we are kids?”
“Talk for yourself, I’ve always been a logical person.”
“No you weren’t,” She called out. “you thought the moon was made of cheese.”
“Have you ever been to the moon? Do you have actual evidence it’s not made of cheese? That’s all I’m saying.”
“Wow, it’s almost like there wasn’t any scientific proof to contradict that.”
“I was seven…”
“Okay, lunatic, I have my keys; let’s go get the ice cream.”
“Do you want me to get into that…?”
“Don’t complete that sentence.”
“…deathtrap.”
“There she is.” Priyanka spun the keys with her index finger. “For your information, she’s fully functional now.”
“But is it a threat to humankind or…?”
“C’mon, you’re not gonna die… but if you do, we’ll do it together.”
“Ah, nothing excites me more than a Thelma and Louise reboot.”
Priyanka stood up and offered her a helping hand. “The night is young. I’m sure we can find some cliff if you stop whining.”
“Only if we get the ice cream first.” She held her hand.
“See, it’s not that bad.” Priyanka turned on the noisy engine.
On the passenger seat, Lemon rushed to buckle up. “I’m ready… to die.” She crossed her fingers in the air.
Priyanka laughed at loud. “It’s not that bad. At least I know how to use a gear level.”
Before Lemon could protest, they were moving. The night was surprisingly hotter than expected so since the air conditioner was even moodier than the car itself, they had their windows down –Priyanka’s favorite way of driving in town.
Lemon’s old house was on the route and Priyanka drove a bit slower when they got into the familiar neighborhood.
“Oh, look at it…” The blonde smiled softly. “It’s been a while but from the outside, it doesn’t look like it has changed at all.”
“A family is living there, two kids I think.”
“Yes, my dad told me.” Lemon rested her face on the car door as they passed by. “You know, back in the day, we left in such hurry I never got to say goodbye properly to this place. One day my parents were fighting, the next day we were packing and then… we were gone.” She extended her hand in the air as the house was getting behind.
“I remember. You didn’t want to leave.”
“Leaving the house… my life here… you… it was the most difficult thing.” Her voice almost cracked.
Priyanka’s heart skipped a beat. She didn’t want to see Lemon crying.
“Okay, you know what… this visit to the ice cream shop wouldn’t be complete without some music…” She opened the glove compartment in front of the blonde.
“Celine Dion… I expected it.”
“No, under that one… Hey, Celine Dion is a great singer and I’m not ashamed of having her albums there.”
“You mean you have albums in plural?”
“Can you please get past my Celine Dion liking and pick another album?”
“I would but my heart won’t go on…”
“Shut up… that was bad.”
“Well, that’s what you get when you…” Lemon paused as she picked another album. “This is… Spiceworld.”
“The very same.”
“But… is it the one…?”
“It’s the one you gave me… Mine still works although it skips sometimes.”
Lemon’s bottom lip trembled as she had her eyes nailed on the album.
“Hey no… don’t cry,” The brunette put on the CD when they stopped on a red light. “there’s no crying if Spice Up Your Life is playing.”
“I’m not…” She sobbed.
The catchy tune started playing.
“When you’re feeling sad and low…We will take you, where you gotta go.” She encouraged her friend to follow the lyrics.
“Smiling dancing, everything is free… All you need is, positivity”
“C’mon, pre-chorus.”
“Colours of the world… Spice up your life!”
“Every boy and every girl… Spice up your life!”
“People of the world… Spice up your life, ahh!” They yelled at the same time.
Before hitting the chorus, Lemon was already cackling so loud she almost snorted. Priyanka was already laughing she nearly drove past the ice cream shop.
“We’re here.” She announced.
Lemon stared at her for a moment and shook her head before getting out of the car.
“I’m guessing you’re still going to order the cookie dough cone.”
“It takes more than a hospital stay to destroy a lifetime obsession.” She followed the blonde.
“That’s… wrong. You know what, maybe you need an intervention.”
“Uh, imagine something like AA but it’s for people with chocolate cookie addiction.”
“It’d be you and the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street sitting on an empty room.” She opened the door and held it for the brunette.
“But after the meeting, we’d be at the coffee table getting some snacks and guess what… chocolate chip cookies.”
“Utterly triggering.”
An older woman that was in line stared at them, their conversations out of context surely made more than one turn around. However, they didn’t even notice, their bubble was unbreakable.
They ordered their ice cream and sat outside the shop. Priyanka got her cookie ice cream and Lemon indulged herself with a chocolate peanut butter and raspberry double cone. The table was small and it didn’t have much space so they were squished there, comfortably chatting; seen from the outside, it looked like they were on a date.
They were halfway Spiceworld on their way back to Priyanka’s house when Lemon spotted it. Her eyes got wide as soon as she recognized the familiar location; the closed fence with the opening hours written on a wooden sign, the green lights shining inside, the fractured moonlight shining on the surface of the water and the eerie aura of a usually crowded place during the day and empty at night.
“Stop! Stop the car!”
Priyanka stopped the car violently making them shake on their seats.
“Are you insane? Why did you do that?”
“This is the pool,” Lemon looked amused. “the swimming pool we used to come when we were kids, right?”
“Yes?” Priyanka parked the car next to the curb. “Why are you so excited about it?”
“Because… before coming back I had a dream involving this pool… and you were on it!”
“Wait, what kind of dream?” The blonde was already out of the car. “Lemon, Lemon?”
She approached the –obviously- locked gate and tried to peep over it. Needless to say, she was unsuccessful at it and wasn’t very pleased with it.
“We have to get in.”
“Are you trying to trespass private property or something like that?” Priyanka stood, arms akimbo.
“Since when are you the sensible one?” She asked with disbelief.
“…You’re right. I think we can climb over the fence.” She suddenly felt the adrenaline rush.
“That’s the attitude.” She looked around. “Now… what do we do?”
“This was your plan.”
“Yeah… but I don’t usually break the rules so I guess it’s more of your area of expertise.” She batted her lashes, if Priyanka didn’t know better she’d say she was flirting but of course, that was impossible.
“Ha, ha, you’re funny…”
“I think I’m really funny.” She leaned against the fence. “Now… how are we going to get in?”
“Well, climbing seems the obvious choice but…” Priyanka took a look around. “I should tell you I worked here a summer to pay for my car and I know where they keep the spare key.”
“No way…” She gaped. “Wait, were you going to make me climb it on purpose?”
“I should’ve pushed harder just to see how serious you were about it.”
Lemon pushed her lightly.
“Hey! I’m the one getting you the key.” And with that said, Priyanka reached for the hidden key behind a loose brick. “Magic words?”
“Open Sesame?”
“Close enough.” She unlocked the gate and both got into the enclosure.
The green lights were on and it gave the pool a different appearance than what they were used to, everything was tinted under the bulb. The water of the rectangular swimming pool glowed in green. Even they looked fluorescent underneath it.
It smelled like chlorine and summer night.
“They use this color to keep away the insects… apparently it works.” The brunette pointed.
“This is so cool.” She walked around the edge of the pool. “This place hasn’t aged a single day.”
Lemon turned around with a naughty expression on her face. If it was possible, she looked even more beautiful while beaming.
“Are you coming or what?” She started unbuttoning her romper.
Priyanka ran out of words –something that didn’t happen that often but was becoming recurrent with Lemon-; the blonde surely wasn’t concerned they didn’t have swimsuits.
Lemon threw the piece of clothing away to where her sneakers were and jumped into the pool. The drops helped Priyanka to snap out of her rapture, she hurried to take off her dress and get rid of her shoes, once on her underwear she joined the other girl on the water.
She closed her eyes while she was in the air, it all happened in one second, she was floating and then her body impacted on the surface making a big splash, the water wasn’t cold but the temperature difference hit her to the core and made her feel alive. She touched the bottom of the pool and held her breath until her lungs demanded fresh air. Priyanka re-emerged and it took her a moment to get used to it. Her hair was completely soaked, her face was cover in drops and her makeup was ruined but she couldn’t care less.
Lemon had the biggest smile on her face the moment she opened her eyes, her hair had gotten entangled with the bobby pins and she had pushed it back making it look slick.
“So you were too good for a lake but a pool that a thousand kids use is better?”
The blonde threw water to her face.
“Hey!”
“I like this better… fewer people.”
“More like no people at all.”
“Exactly.” She floated around as if she was on a cloud.
“You said you dreamt about this… do you dream about me often?”
Lemon threw more water at her.
“Stop doing that to dodge my questions.” Priyanka swam around.
“I’m not going to answer them anyway.” Lemon giggled.
For a moment they floated in silence under the moon, under the artificial green light, their ears -as most of their bodies- were under the water blocking any sound aside from the movements inside, the way their hands created tiny waves, and how their heartbeats sounded. Priyanka’s kept beating loud enough to compete with a drum.
She stared at her friend and knew she wasn’t going to have another chance like that.
“Lemon…” She called.
“Huh?” The blonde stood up. “What is it?”
“I need to tell you something.” Her mouth was dry; she was shaking under the water. “I-”
At that moment an alarm went on, probably activated by a timed motion sensor.
“Oh shit,” Priyanka shouted. “We have to go. These people know me.”
“Oh my God…” The blonde’s eyes were full of terror.
They rushed to get out of the pool and grab their clothes before dashing out of the place.
“They didn’t have an alarm when I worked here,” Priyanka complained; her pulse racing as they left the pool and jumped back into her car.
The scene was ridiculous, all the dogs of the neighborhood were barking, the alarm kept ringing, Lemon was laughing out loud, Priyanka couldn’t find her keys and they were still in their wet underwear.
“Found them!” The brunette announced and turned on the engine.
She drove a few blocks until they were far enough from the pool and then parked because she couldn’t get to calm down. Lemon had her hand pressed against her chest; they were in the same euphoric state.
They exchanged a glance and burst into laughter at the same time.
“Oh my…”
“That was crazy…” Priyanka rested her head against the header. “I’m still shaking.” Her body was dripping over the seat.
“I know… I can’t believe we just did that.” Lemon took a deep breath. “My heart is beating so fast I might get into cardiac arrest.”
“Right? My hands are trembling… I don’t know how I got to drive this distance, to be honest.”
“Adrenaline, probably. Do you think they have cameras or something?”
Priyanka became pale. “I hope no, they know my parents.”
This made Lemon laugh again.
“Oh, you think it’s funny little rebel?” She poked the blonde’s arm.
“Wait, don’t do that, it makes me ticklish.” She kept laughing.
“You really shouldn’t have said that.” Priyanka automatically started tickling her.
“Stop! Stop!” Lemon kept giggling until she grabbed both of the girl’s wrists with her hands.
Suddenly, they were staring at each other in silence and daringly close. Priyanka hadn’t noticed how transparent their garments had become until that instant or how gorgeous she looked even when the messy hair and bare face.
Lemon wetted her lips as she let go softly. “What were you saying earlier? When we were in the pool…”
“Ah, that… well…” Priyanka took a deep breath, maybe the moment wasn’t gone yet, she still felt a bit courageous.
But then they heard the police sirens of a car passing by –maybe it wasn’t for them but they were still paranoid- so the best was to get out there and return to Priyanka’s house.
Lemon sighed loudly. She covered with the romper, shivering a little.
They were a red light from their destination when the brunette noticed the seats were going to be wet.
“Shit, I’ll have to take the car to the car wash or I’ll have to dry the seats with a hairdryer.”
“You’re taking care of it now?”
“I… actually sold my car this morning,” Priyanka announced.
“What? Okay, first of all, someone’s paying you real money for this? And secondly, I thought you loved this piece of trash.”
“Rude. You’d be surprised about how much I’m getting for it. Some rich lady named Jimbo –yes, that’s her name- wanted to buy it and she paid enough to cover the repairs done.” She held the steering wheel tightly. “And… I do love this car but… I think it’s time to move on to something else. I asked Jimbo if I could take her to one last adventure before handing the keys and I’m glad it’s with you.”
“Oh.” That was all she said.
The car stopped. They had arrived.
“Now, let’s get inside and find some towels.”
“Sure.” She mumbled.
Priyanka gave Lemon a towel and let the girl get dry before putting her clothes back on. The brunette did the same and then they drank some tea her mother had left ready for them. The hot beverage helped them recover the temperature on their bodies and left them feeling warm inside.
“I have your jacket in the trunk of my car… the one you lend me the lake day.”
“Ah, right… I forgot you had it.”
“Well, it helped me not to freeze to death.”
“It wasn’t that cold.”
“Penguin’s butt.”
“Stop saying that.”
“I’ll go get your jacket and be right back.” She pointed at the door and walked out.
Priyanka got a full moment alone and she cursed herself for a full minute.
“Idiot, you’re fucking it up again… She’s leaving and you didn’t tell her a thing or two…”
She shook her head. Lemon was leaving and maybe it was for the best that she hadn’t confessed her feelings. What was the point? They were going different ways again…
Lemon crossed the door. “Here.” She handed the piece of clothing. “Thank you or whatever.”
“You’re welcome.” She threw the jacket over the sofa. “So listen… Uh…”
She stared at her friend. Lemon was breathtaking, every detail of her face was worth being drawn, portrayed, traced… Even the little eyelash resting comfortably on her cheek.
“You have a…” She pointed at her face.
“Uh? What? Is it a bug?” She started touching her cheeks.
“No, just an eyelash… Wait… let me…” She shortened the distance and tenderly brushed the lash off her face.
Lemon’s breathing tickled her skin.
Priyanka stared at her clear eyes for a moment, she hadn’t noticed her hand was still on her cheek.
“Sorry, I got it.” She announced showing the tiny lash on her fingertip.
Lemon smiled at her. “I should leave now… I need to drive early in the morning to avoid the traffic and I should get some sleep.”
“Yeah… I suppose.”
She hoped the disappointment in her voice wasn’t noticeable.
“Pri?”
“Uhm?”
“I’m glad that we’re okay now. Not having you in my life for the past seven years was awful. Let’s not fight again, yeah?” She held her pinky finger in the air. “I promise I won’t break this one.”
“Lemon, you’ll always be part of my life.”
Priyanka sealed the promise with her pinky and then hugged her friend.
Her heartbeats were so loud she was scared Lemon might hear them.
Priyanka opened the door.
“My car is at the end of the street, I can walk from here.”
“Do you want me to walk you there?”
“Nah, it’s okay. I’m fine… I’ll call you from New York as soon as I get there.”
“Yes, do that.” She took a deep breath. “Bye, love you…”
“Love you too.” Lemon blew a kiss in the air.
Priyanka closed the door. She couldn’t watch her leave again.
She started climbing the stairs. Her heart was supposed to be at peace –they were friends again- but she wasn’t happy about it… Lemon was leaving her again and words couldn’t describe how much Priyanka hated the fact there wasn’t something she could do.
Her dad almost bumped into her when she was lost in her thoughts.
“Hey pumpkin, be careful.” He was in his pajamas and a robe.
“Sorry, dad. I was thinking… too much.”
“You always do.” He patted her back. “Did your friend leave already?”
Priyanka nodded. “She has to go back to her home tomorrow morning.”
Her father frowned. “And you two are not spending more time together? You two used to be… joined by the hip? You cried whenever we went to pick you up from her house or when she left.”
Priyanka chuckled. “I remember… yeah…”
“I always thought you two…” He didn’t finish the sentence. “You were truly inseparable.”
She was trying to understand what he was truly saying.
He stared at her.
“And? Don’t stand there looking at me… go.”
“Dad? Are you…?”
He squeezed her shoulder. “It took me some more time but it doesn’t mean that I don’t want you to be happy.”
Priyanka felt her eyes getting watery. She hugged her father tightly.
“We can do this later; your mother is going to kill me if I tell her that you left that girl go.”
“Right…” Priyanka shook her head.
“Go!”
She ran downstairs almost flying over them.
Her father was right.
Her best friend.
The girl she loved.
What the hell was she doing there?
She had to get the girl!
Priyanka opened the door violently.
“Lemon. Lemon!” She yelled but the girl wasn’t on the street. Who cared if she woke some neighbors up? “Lemon!”
Was her car still at the end of the street?
“Oh, hey there…” A voice came from the porch.
Priyanka turned around and noticed the blonde sitting in one corner next to the door.
“Lemon, what are you doing there?”
She was sitting holding her knees against her chest. Priyanka got closer and kneeled next to her.
“I’m waiting to get some courage to knock on your door again and hopefully I’ll be brave enough then to tell you…” She looked at Priyanka in the eye, the words didn’t come.
“Tell me what?” Priyanka asked, desperate.
“That…” She bit her lips. “Forget it, I can’t ruin it… I can’t lose you again.” She was babbling to herself. Then she looked at Priyanka again. “Sorry, I’m just going to leave…”
She stood up and started walking fast.
“Lemon!”
She didn’t turn back. Priyanka stood up and grabbed her by the wrist, making the blonde face her. The tears were already rolling down her cheeks.
“I can’t let my friend walk away while being sad…”
There was a pause, they stared at each other.
“Am I really just your friend?” She finally cried out.
She hadn’t let go of her hand yet.
“No. You’re not… I mean, we used to be friends but…”
The moment… their moment was now or never… she had screwed it up before but she wasn’t going to let it slip again.
“I’m in love with you.” The words sprouted from her chest. “I’m in love with you.” She repeated accentuating every syllable.
“That’s my line,” Lemon complained, faithful to her character.
“Wait… is it? I mean, are you?”
“I’ve loved you all my life, you idiot.” The blonde was suddenly full of anger. “I can’t believe this… why didn’t you say something before?”
“When you say all your life…”
“Oh, for goodness sake… Priyanka I’ve never loved anyone else since that day in kindergarten when you shared your cookies with me and that’s embarrassing.”
“And why didn’t you say something?”
“You didn’t say it either!”
“Because I thought you just wanted to be friends with me!”
“Are you blind? I’ve been trying for days for you to notice… and that day on the stupid lake I really thought you were going to kiss me but you didn’t and then you said that it was never going to happen between us…”
“You heard that?”
“Of fucking course I did… And I cried for hours because I thought my chance was… gone forever… but tonight… I thought, maybe tonight… maybe… but you said those things about moving on to something new… and the last adventure with me…”
“I was talking about my car! You’re not a car… It’s not a metaphor, you know? I’m bad at metaphorical speech.” They were yelling.
“How would I know? You pick the worst moments to say things like those…”
“I said those things on the lake because I thought you wanted to be just friends with me and I didn’t want to make it awkward and I sold my car not because I don’t love it anymore… I did it because it’s old and I cannot travel anymore in that state… I can’t go visiting you with that car.”
“But you said…” Lemon’s bottom lip trembled.
“I know what I said but, after the past couple of days, I realized that, yes, I’ve grown up… I’ve changed but I’m still the same. I still like pop songs from the ’90s, I still like chocolate chip cookies in any existing form, I still like going on adventures, and, most importantly, I still like you… a lot.”
“You… I’m so mad at you…” She got rid of her grip. “I’m literally fuming, you are…” She stared at her brown eyes. “You’re the worst and…”
Before she could finish that sentence, Priyanka shortened the distance, grabbed her face, and planted a kiss on her lips, partially to shut her up and mostly because she had wanted to do that for so long. Lemon relaxed as soon as their lips touched as if her will to fight had abruptly disappeared.
It wasn’t her first kiss, it was a kiss that didn’t compare with the ones before but it would be the parameter for all the ones that would come after. It was a kiss that made other kisses seem insignificant and a kiss that rose up the standards forever.
Lemon smelled like chlorine and summer crush and she tasted like lip-gloss and warm tea. Priyanka entangled her fingers on her hair and pulled her even closer to the point their bodies were merging in a tight embrace.
“So you were saying,” Priyanka whispered when they reached for air.
“Shut up and kiss me again or I’m going to keep finding things to be mad at you.”
And Priyanka –gladly- did it.
They kissed some more while sitting on the porch until their lips were swollen and lightly numbed and then sat cozily with their legs entangled, stars above their heads and singing crickets on the ground. Priyanka thought she could get used to it.
Except, she didn’t have time to.
“Do you really have to go back tomorrow?” She asked, pinching Lemon lightly on her arm.
“I can delay it until Monday but… I have to be back next week for the dancing schedule.”
“Oh… I understand…”
They could have one more day then.
“But,” She began connecting her thoughts. “maybe there’s an alternative…”
“What do you mean?” Priyanka was puzzled.
“I don’t want to go back alone so… what do you say if you come with me to New York? You said you wanted to visit me there someday… why not now? You’re still on your break, aren’t you?”
“Yeah… I am…”
“Jan can stay with Jackie for a couple of days and you can stay with me…”
“Are you serious right now? Do you really want me to go with you?”
“Unless you want to stay with your family for what’s left of your break… I’d understand it.” She shrugged.
“You know what? I have the feeling that my folks are already done with my shenanigans…”
“I mean, who isn’t?”
“One would think that you’d act differently after having someone’s tongue down your throat.”
“Think again.”
“Anyway… Yes. I’ll go back with you.”
The blonde beamed.
“Great, so I can pick you up tomorrow before noon? You’ll need to pack and stuff.”
“I’m ahead of you… I never finished unpacking.”
“You’re actually the worst, did you know?”
“But you still like me.”
Lemon’s reply was to press a quick peck on her lips before she could say something else.
“And…? What happened afterward?” Denali was on the edge of her seat, she could see it even through the computer screen.
“Well… things were alright for a couple of days but then we realized that it was kind of awkward between us and we decided we’re better as friends.” Priyanka shrugged and spun a little on the chair.
“What?!” The other girl’s mouth dropped to the floor. “Are you kidding me right now?”
She shook her head, dead serious. “I guess it wasn’t meant to be after all.”
Denali’s eyes were like a pair of plates.
“Hey, I brought some coffee… Priyanka, are you still telling people we broke up?” Lemon’s voice broke the silence.
“Oh my God… I hate you so much right now…” She buried her face in her hands.
“Gotcha! I can’t believe you fell for that… Kiara, Juice… even Scarlett was dumb enough to believe it.”
Priyanka laughed her head off.
“Our friendship is officially over. Hi Lemon! How are you, my dancing diva?”
The blonde stood up in front of the camera almost pushing her girlfriend away. “Hi, Dee… I’m doing alright.” Her voice was melodic. “What’s up with you?”
“Just here, catching up with your awful girlfriend.”
“She scared the hell out of you, didn’t she?”
“First she leaves in a hurry without telling anyone and now she’s spreading some fake information… No… It’s a no for me.”
“Don’t worry, we’re actually –surprisingly- doing fine.”
“Hey, what do you mean by «surprisingly»?” The brunette hugged her from behind.
“Aw, you guys are so cute.” She smiled at them. “Wait, so you’re in New York now?”
“Yep, I’m staying for a couple more days and then I’m taking a plane back to Toronto.”
“And I’ll be visiting her there for the holidays in a couple of months.”
“Whoa, you have it figured out already.”
“And I didn’t forget that you have a competition here soon, I’ll definitely be here with you.”
“That’s great! I’m glad to hear it. Sure, oh… we’re going to have so much fun…”
“My friends are dying to meet you if you know what I mean.” Lemon winked.
“I can’t wait.” She wiggled her eyebrows. “Listen, I’d love to chat some more but if I don’t go to practice there won’t be a competition to hoe around.”
They chuckled.
“Thank you for calling, Nali. I miss you already!”
“Miss you too, see you soon guys.” She blew a kiss in the air. “Bye-bye.”
“Bye!” They waved at the camera before ending the call.
“You’re so annoying sometimes…” Lemon kissed her quickly after saying that. She had a cup of coffee in her hands. “So… do you think this is going to work? At the distance and everything?”
Priyanka held her tightly in her arms making the girl sit on her lap. “I know we’re going to make it work somehow and… you know I’m graduating soon so maybe –just maybe- I could start applying for some internship here…?”
The blonde stared at her. “Really?”
“Don’t get too excited yet… I still have to do some things over there and I might take a while but…”
Lemon almost dropped her cup of coffee when she hugged her even closer.
“That would be… Pri… I’ve said it before but… I love you.” The same words acquired a new meaning in a different context.
Priyanka’s heart was full.
“I love you too.”
Priyanka kissed her forehead and let their words linger in the air. They were in a tiny student apartment in a big city, miles away from their hometown but they were together at last, at the only place they had always called home.
Maybe it was true, maybe we always come back to the place where we were happy.
And they were the living proof of it.
The end.

What song reminds you of being in middle school? Patron Tequila was a huuuuuuuuuge bop in 5th grade, and I can tell you too many kids who were too young for the song nevertheless vibed hard to it. Down by Jay Sean also reminds me of mid-elementary school. I believe both have so far been one-hit wonders, lol.
What was the first thing you learned how to cook? I don’t cook cook, but I remember we had one day in like preschool when we were taught how to make homemade pizza. That was the first dish I remember making. We used white bread for the crust and topped it with tomato sauce, grated cheese, and sliced hotdogs. I ended up liking the ‘recipe’ a lot and frequently asked my aunt or grandma to make it for me.
What does your hair currently look like? It’s slightly damp since I took a shower a couple of hours ago, and it’s currently styled in a low side ponytail.
Who's the worst driver you know? It’s been years since I’ve been in a car where my uncle was in charge of the wheel, but I would always end up feeling nauseous whenever he was the one driving. I never figured out why, but my best bet is because he tends to press hard on the brakes. I also don’t trust anyone who’s fine with being way too close to other cars.
What are some wild animals commonly found where you live? I live in a residential area where there are approximately 0 wild animals roaming around lol. I do have some neighbors who keep chickens, but that’s as wild as it gets over here.
Does it take a lot to make you cry? Nah. Just show me a stereotypical emotional video, like anything to do with grandparents or pets reuniting with their owners, and I’ll produce some tears for you in seconds.
If the last dream you had came true, would that be a good or bad thing? Bad. I was relieved when I finally woke up.
Have you ever had a lucid dream? No. I’ve tried doing it before but just could never get in the zone.
How long did your last car ride last? Something like 20 minutes. The mall isn’t that far away and most of the travel was because our house is way too far from the village’s entrance.
Isn't it disgusting when people chew with their mouth open? I mean c'mon... It’s icky but I have other worse pet peeves.
What's your most prominent memory from 2009? I used to keep this journal where all of my entries were of me roleplaying in the Twilight universe. Obviously it’s embarrassing to think of now, but I must’ve written quite well back then because my classmates loved reading it and used to pass it around during recess and lunch hahaha. That was my only successful stint in fiction writing ever. I know the notebook is still around somewhere, but I refuse to see even just the outside; too much cringe lol.
Do you think there will ever be world peace? A little pessimistic answer but no.
What's your biggest problem at the moment? A client was supposed to send us this file that I needed so I can proceed with a deliverable that we were asked to do today, but he never followed through. That’s fine by me since executions get moved all the time, but it also means he’ll probably send it sometime during the Holy Week break and I’ll have to work during one of my days-off this week. -__-
Has anyone ever told you you're too emotionally needy? I don’t think so. If someone has it would most likely stick with me.
Has an ex ever told you that they want you back? Nope. She has an infinite amount of pride in her bones for her to do that.
Have you ever turned down a job offer? I have never had to, and so far I’ve only been the one turned down haha. Joke’s on them; I’m super happy with the job I’ve landed.
What's the longest hospital stay you've had? For what? I’ve only had to be confined once and that was just an overnight stay. It was a dengue scare but turned out to be just a low platelet count.
Do you know anyone who doesn't know the basics of using a computer? My maternal grandma refuses to learn anything that’s got to do with modern technology, and I suuuper doubt she’d be able to figure out how to turn on a laptop or computer.
What was the last snack you ate? I was feeling hungry earlier and had a bite of this guava chip that my workplace had sent over as a care package; but it tastes super healthy and blech and I felt like I deserved something more junk food-y for finishing off the work week haha. Now I’m having KFC delivered at 1 AM :(((
What's something really basic that you're terrible at? Lighting up a matchstick. I’m scared of fire and I always ask my dad to be the one to light up my scented candles every single time.
Is it just me, or are tv shows/movies getting to be really dumbed down? No. Different generations, different tastes catered. I also think I’ve answered this survey before because I remember saying that I actually appreciate how content these days are more inclusive and open about tackling sensitive issues. That’s the complete opposite of ‘dumbed down’ to me.
Do you know any same-sex married couples? Finding one in the Philippines is like looking for a needle in a haystack, but yeah I happen to know a couple of couples. They probably handled all the paperwork in the US, but still. I’m glad their family is able to thrive here.
What was the last appointment you scheduled? It was a telemedicine consultation. I didn’t need it, but one of our clients recently partnered with this telehealth service and they wanted someone from the agency to use a free trial so we can have a better idea of what the service offers. I was the sacrificial lamb (lmao) and so I had to have this quick video call with one of their doctors. That was the first instance I was glad to have scoliosis because it gave me something to talk about, because otherwise I would be completely lost on what to consult about.
Are you happy with the person you have become? Getting there :) I definitely don’t have as many self-loathing moments than I used to just a few months ago.
What year were you born? 1998.
What does your favorite watch look like? I don’t have one; I don’t use watches as I will probably lose them in like a month anyway.
Did you have one of those Tamagotchi things as a kid? Yeah, but I personally didn’t get the hype and quickly went back to my other toys.
What's your favorite kind of wine? Sweeter ones. I can’t stand bitter wine.
When was the last time you felt lonely? Last Sunday. I was talking to Angela and Andi more excessively than usual that day; and it was most likely the quarantine getting to me. Even though they reassure me that I’m not being too clingy or annoying I still feel like I am, so that day made me rethink and reflect about ways to expand my circles and gain new friends.
Are your parents still together? Yeah, I literally just got them their KFC orders like 10 minutes ago.
Have you ever been so broke you didn't know how you'd keep a roof over your head? I’m thankful to have never been in this position.
Do you know anyone who believes that vaccines cause autism? Possibly. But at least they’re smart enough to keep their mouth shut about it.
What was the last piece of furniture you bought? OMG OMG OMG I *literally* just received it this afternoon but I finally bought a cute lil night lamp for my room :> :> Hahahaha I’ve spent my last four employed months spending on nothing but food, but I decided to switch it up a bit and finally purchase something that won’t be gone the next day, hence the lamp. Not really furniture, but still. It’s the cutest thing ever and it’s currently lighting up my room really prettily!!!
What's a new skill you'd like to learn? Climbing.
How did you celebrate your last birthday? It was the peak of the pandemic when the entire world was still scrambling to figure out how to handle it, so all stores were closed and no one could go out. I barely remember what had happened since that day just flew by, but I do recall that Angela had a box of sushi delivered to my place.
Do you have any great housecleaning tips? Not really.
What's your favorite cocktail? Zombie.
Did your favorite movie come out before or after you were born? Way before I was born; it’s 31 years older than me.
Is there anything you need to do before the end of the day? Nope.

Your best friend Natali decided to start recording this moment, and that’s how your video starts with a soft piano melody that Calum created for the entire video.
“Are you recording this?” you said looking at your bestie’s phone.
“Yeah, cause’ it is official” your bestie said pointing at the doctor’s monitor. A little peanut of 7 weeks growing inside you. Your doctor is rubbing that cold gel in your belly and your eyes are looking at the monitor with bright, shiny, sparkly eyes but inside you are afraid too. “Hi baby, this is your mommy”.

You’re in a cafe with your best friend, it’s almost night time when you decided to go for a cup of hot chocolate and a good slice of cake that you’d been craving the whole week. Calum, your boyfriend is on press tour promoting the last two singles so you’d been hanging out with your best friend.
Once you’re walking back to your place, suddenly you started to feel like crap and disgusted by the smell of coffee that a stranger was drinking and passed by you. Your best friend noticed when you gagged and told you to hold on till the next shop.
“Hi Marcela!” your bestie said to the cashier of the shop. You should have say hi too but you ran to the bathroom. “Sorry, she ate something” she said waiting for you in the other side of the door. Once you were done you were still feeling like trash.
“Hi Marcela and don’t worry I didn’t spot anything” you said. Marcela’s your best friend’s cousin. They’re from Brazil, so do you. She works in a big pharmacy, that the owner’s her brother, Pablo. “How is that pretty boy who plays the guitar?” she asked you, and you laughed that she didn’t ask about how are you.
“You just saw him a couple of weeks ago” you said. “How are you tho?”.
“Ya’ know, excited for the surgery” she said referring to her breast surgery and you’re so happy to see her finally in the process of a trans woman. “Well, before you go you should go back to the bathroom with this, on the house” she said giving you a pregnancy test. Before you refused, Marcela interrupted you. “Your boyfriend’s birthday party was wild so I’m just sayin’” your best friend gave her a look to behave. “I mean I don’t judge you with that hottie and a wild night” she said pushing you back to the bathroom.
You didn’t give her an answer, because she was right of what happened that night after you and Calum were alone. Ugh, in that moment you wanted him in the other side of that door and not your friends that are just making you more nervous.
“I would like to have his babies too if I could” Marcela tried to break the ice of this moment with a joke and your best friend punched her to be quiet. “What?! I’m just trying to make her laugh”.
“Y/N? U okay? 10 minutes have passed” Natali said knocking the door.
“I’m too coward to look at the result” you said in a shy voice in the other side. Your friends looked at each other and encouraged you by telling you that whatever the result is they are going to be with you and support you.
You left the bathroom to show them the two lines in the test. It’s positive. You’re pregnant. It wasn’t the first time tho, but that story’s for later.

“This is how I found out about you” your best friend said to the camera. “Your mother and I were living our lives having fun and working hard when she met your father”.
“I think that the story of your parents is unique, your dad loves to tell how he met your mother” Mali said to the camera.
“Once I saw in a well known tv show that you met your soulmate three times before being together. I didn’t believe it cause’ I used to think that love is a scam but one day…” Calum said to the camera. He remembered when he listened that line while watching this tv show he said ‘fuck off’ but kept watching it. Two days after that he finally met you.

It was Christmas Eve, and your biggest opportunity in your career as a makeup artist. You won this with a lot of effort. You had 5 clients that day, everyone wanted to get all glam for the day by you. You were late because there was no taxi or Uber available until one driver accepted your call. It was snowing and the Uber arrived outside one of your client’s house and you ran with your suitcases full of makeup.
Once you sat in the back of the car, a guy entered the car too, hurry like you.
“Excuse me?” you asked him. “This is my car, you must have another car plate”.
“Hell nah miss. I’ve been waiting for twelve minutes” he said showing you his phone he noticed your accent and your beauty.
“I have the same one!” you showed him your phone. “Please, I’m late for work” you begged him.
“I’m late too!” he resisted.
“Can you please tell this man that I called you first?” you asked the driver.
“Sorry, the app is crazy today so maybe the system gave to me your calls” the driver said through the rear-view mirror. “But I got her call first, sorry buddy”.
“Ugh thank you! Why you don’t go on your car? For sure you have a car if you live in this neighborhood” you said at the strange man of the leather jacket.
“My car is in the mechanic" he said. “Please please I will call your couple to explain why you are late if you let me take this Uber”.
“Excuse me?! I said I’m late for work!” you were tired and you have two clients left and one of them is a billionaire, so you started to get angry at him who didn’t understand that you’re in a hurry.
“Work? You must have a boring life” he said before leaving the car. You were not going to tell him your life and explain yourself. You thought to gave him the middle finger but it’s not the day for that, you just told the driver to go.
Two months after that episode you were doing a beautiful gold eye look on a tall and handsome guy. He’s so nice and you found cute when he asked you about makeup, skincare and your career.
“So if you want more intensity with the pigment you have to spray setting spray directly to the brush and then take a little of the shadow” you told Luke when you are done with his makeup.
It was the day when they were recording Valentine’s music video.
“Dude we are waiting for you, what the hell?” Calum asked Luke when he arrived the set.
“Sorry the makeup artist is so cool we were talking a little bit. She told me she’s from Brazil and her skin looks amazing. I’m going to say to call her again for the next videos” Luke said showing the guys how amazing he feels with his gold makeup.
Calum wanted a little bit of glitter on his cheeks, but when he went to the room where you did Luke’s makeup. He didn’t find you. Another makeup artist told him that you had to do Lady Gaga’s makeup for a magazine cover when he asked about you.
Calum was going to ask how she ended doing Luke’s makeup if she does biggest celebrities looks because he was surprised and realized that she (you) must be a talented MUA. But he forgot to ask.
Two months after again. 5sos were going to Coachella but not to perform. They were excited for the weekend to have fun and to see all their favorites musicians on stage.
This festival is all about outfits, makeup, accessories, influencers, etc. But also to get to know upcoming good artists from different countries and music genres.
“Ashley how we end up here? I don’t speak portuguese” The boys said to their friend who wanted to see a brazilian artist.
“Me neither! But I love Pabllo so much” Halsey said. “Please, come on! It will be fun I promise”.
Once in the VIP section, Luke hugged a girl that Calum didn’t recognize.
“Look Y/N” Luke said showing you to rate the glitter he applied.
“It looks amazing!” you said. And after that Luke introduced you to the rest of the boys telling them about the makeup you did on him for Valentine’s video, and Halsey recognized you since she’s a fan of makeup and to be honest you should be the one who is glad to meet her.
“Hey I think I know you from somewhere” Calum said trying to remember your face and before you said something and before the boys said a dirty joke, Calum remembered. “You stole my Uber! It was my Uber”. After a couple of jokes, and you clarifying that you didn’t stole anything, the show started.
Pabllo is the first brazilian drag queen to perform in this huge festival. You were Pabllo’s makeup artist, Calum didn’t need to ask you that. He saw you enjoying the show.
“This look is amazing” Calum said about the pink look you did on Pabllo. You thanked him for that compliment because it took you almost two hours.
“I also did chilean and argentinian artists makeup” you said proud of your work for this two weekends. After this song Pabllo is performing you have to go backstage to touch up the makeup. So after you said bye to everyone and before you went back to work Calum invited you to their place where they are staying for an after party when Beyoncé closes this festival’s day.
And after that, you two have been inseparable.
+
Today your career’s immensely different. Today you’re one of the most famous MUA in the industry. With a lot of famous clients, most of them billionaires including people from music, films, fashion industries, etc. You also opened a makeup studio in LA. This took you years, hard work, tears, sweat and blood to be who you’re today, always proud to be an immigrant. Nobody believes you when you told the story how you get into makeup. You come from a poor town in Brazil and every single night when you were in highschool you ran away from home to go to bars and do drag queens makeup, since then you’re friends with Pabllo and every brazilian drag queen.
+
“Like I was saying this is how she told your father about you” your best friend said while in the video that moment’s playing. You and Calum are in Arraial Do Cabo beach, your favorite since you have memory. It was sunset time, you were standing in the water holding hands when you told Calum the big new. The 35mm video shows how Calum lifts you up and kisses you so tenderly with the beautiful crystalline water as the background while he kneels to kiss your exposed belly in your bikini.
Of course you asked your doctor if you could travel to Brazil, your homeland. This was a trip that you planned with Calum for so long, you missed your family so much and also you didn’t want to cancel it since it was also Calum’s vacations. Once you arrived back your parents house you told them and your brothers (you’re the younger sibling) the big new. All of them cried and hugged you and for dinner your mom did all of your favorites brazilian dishes and desserts that you missed so much and you have to eat for you and the baby.
It was summer in Brazil and that night there was a storm but hot as fuck, as always. You were looking at the beauty of the city during night while you waited for Calum for bed time after an amazing day. He showed you the pictures he took during the day, he didn’t know if your glow was because you were at home, like when he visits Australia, or if it was the pregnancy.
The next day you decided to go for a picnic with your family, a tradition you have. You went to the same place that is close to your old house. The picnic area has multiples simple grass courts where kids play football. You filmed the moments when Calum and your brothers started playing with the kids of the neighborhood including your nephews, your heart melted to that view of the children laughing when Calum failed a goal and Calum’s heart melted at the view of you playing with your nephews in the grass and then dancing with them. They love to show you what they had learned about samba and capoeira. The only thing on Calum’s mind was that it feels just right with you and that he can not wait to live what he’s watching, with you. With each of them holding your hands you came back to picnic table.
“Baby you’re going to have amazing avós, tios and primos” you said while filming your family members that picnic day. Your parents kissing your forehead and your brothers filming you playing carefully with them the match.
“She still has it” your eldest brother said to the camera and then filming the picnic day. You can’t explain how much you love your family. You bought them a house in a good side of the city when you became rich. You were dreaming that your whole life because you came from a really poor part of Brazil but with the hard work of your mom, as a hairdresser, and your dad as a fisherman, you always had food and a house full of love. You consider your step dad like your real father, because he’s been there for you since day one and he taught you almost everything of life.
The first time Calum went to Brazil to meet your family, he already knew about your step dad. He and your brothers were harsh with Calum. The three of them have been always protecting you. When they realized how much Calum loves you, they treated him like family. Calum admires that coming from your step dad, and more than ever he has to show you that he would never do what your biological father did to you. He’s going to be the best dad in the world because he always wanted this with you.
Your last night in Brazil you found yourself looking at the balcony. You were sad for leaving again and for an specific memory. Calum noticed you were not sleeping and he knows you better than himself.
“Why you told me that you were scared to tell me the big new” he asked you. You told him that you didn’t know how he was going to react. And also because you didn’t know if he still wanted a family with you after your miscarriage you had last year.

You never understand why the brain always remember the bad moments or the traumas. Sometimes you feel like this happened yesterday and some nights still haunts you. It was your mistake even when everyone told you that it wasn’t your fault. But it was.
You were back from Europe after all the fashion weeks in different countries. You travelled a lot, with no stop doing tons of makeup looks to tons of models to almost every designer that called you. Back in LA you continued with your clients and your studio.
You remembered that night, Calum was back too from the shows they did in Australia and New Zealand. Both of you were exhausted. In the middle of the night you started to feel feverish and thirsty so you went for water downstairs. Before you passed out you felt a strong ache in your back. The noise your body did against the floor got Duke in a second running where you were. He started barking when his help didn’t work which woke up Calum. He knew something was happening because you were not in bed and Duke was desperate. When he found you in the kitchen floor he called emergency when he saw blood in your shorts, he waited the ambulance next to you and holding you all scared because he had no idea what was happening.
In the hospital when the doctors did all the exams and gave you the medication you needed, your doctor went outside to talk to Calum explaining him what happened. You didn’t know you were pregnant until the moment you woke up and your doctor explained to you the same. Your doctor told you that the cause was the non-stop work you did, without eating well or drinking water, sleeping less than 4 hours, too much flights and the baby couldn’t make it. After a couple of days in the hospital to recover, your doctor told you to stay and rest at home all the time you needed. Calum was there for you all the time, taking care of you and letting you know he loves you, even when you felt guilty and barely could look at his eyes.  You always thanked him for what he did because after that you thought he was going to break up with you. Your family, the guys and friends were there for you too and until today you go to a therapist.
Despite all the sadness that brought you the hardest time you had ever lived. It taught you to take care of yourself, to put your health first and to slow down with work even when it’s your passion. So now when your doctor said that you were pregnant, you decided to keep this a secret until your baby is born. You want to live to the fullest this pregnancy, taking care of you and your child, so that’s why you don’t want any paparazzis following you everywhere or things that damage your mental health because you don’t want the baby to feel your anxiety or panic over unnecessary scenarios.
You told your loved ones your plan, you told just the right amount of people that you were pregnant, people who you can trust. You told your clients the secret and that you were going to work and keep doing their makeup until you start to show.

“He just told us like ‘hey look at this’ and for our surprise it was the first ultrasound scan” Michael said to the camera while a video of that moment plays. Calum telling the boys that like if it was a simple meme on instagram, their faces, reactions by jumping and screaming were priceless. “And we were so confused and I remembered I said ‘wait this a baby’”.
“Come on guys!” Luke said when you and Calum were goofing around the arena during soundcheck playing like kids and hugging each other. Then in the dressing room waiting for the show cuddling in the sofa laying your bodies in the limited space, Calum’s kissing your nose and the rest of your face and you’re caressing his cheeks and stubble softly with your nails. You promised Calum that you’re going to be careful every single show you will come to see him.
“Every single picture or video you find about your parents, you can see the chemistry” Andy, who is the director of this video, said to the camera and then a video he did for Calum’s birthday party is playing. “Everybody say happy birthday to Cal… one, two, three!” Ashton said through the microphone when it was time to sing at Calum. Then you two kissing and partying, and then leaving the club with all the flashes directly to your faces and other cool little moments of you two playing in the video to show how could your baby’s parents are.

You were in your first trimester when Calum found himself stepping into the elevator for the ultrasound which is going to reveal your baby’s gender. Andy’s filming everything and zoomed to little details that showed that Calum was nervous and anxious to see and hear his baby for the first time. He’s waiting for you that you’re on your way after doing a client’s makeup.
Your style have always been so urban and grunge. You always wear baggy shirts with cool designs on it or bands/singers merch or vintage shirts. And now it’s even more comfortable to you wearing that.
Luke was waiting for you to drive you to the clinic. It wasn’t a surprise when you saw paparazzis pictures of you arriving with Luke and rumors were already on social media but till the end everyone denied your pregnancy. But it was funny but crazy some of the rumors.
Plastic surgery, that you were cheating Calum with Luke, that you were expecting a baby, etc.
“Please guys, leave her alone” Luke said to the paps when he got out the car. He had to lie but he wanted to scream at them to give you space because of the baby but he couldn’t. Everyone was so protective with you and you understood because none of you wanted you live another miscarriage.
If it depends on Calum, he prefers that you don’t lift heavy things or anything that requires too much effort. “How are you feeling today baby mama?” he asked knowing about your morning sickness. You told him that you were perfect that you just want to know the gender of your baby.
“You’re fifteen weeks now” your doctor said rubbing again the cold gel against your belly. Calum was in a chair next to you rubbing your leg focused watching the monitor just like you.
“Hey chief u are putting too much pressure on” Calum said on the defensive watching how hard the doctor was pressing the gel in your belly.
“Don’t worry, Calum. It’s just the skin. There she is” the doctor said once finally found the perfect take of the baby checking every detail and told you both that everything is okay.
“She? Can we hear the heartbeat?” Calum asked already covering his mouth and he can feel the chills going down his body tearing a little bit. Andy who was inside the room, zoomed to the monitor and also the only one who knew the gender before the reveal party.

Come on, baby, won’t you hold on to me, hold on to me?
You and I together
Come on, baby, won’t you hold on to me, hold on to me?

Calum till the present day after your baby was born, he sings this song to her at nights. His voice activated your baby, she really loves her daddy’s voice and she showed her joy with shorts kicks in your belly. She demanded when she missed Calum’s voice or warm touch or when she was having a really good time after he sang or talked to her.
“Babe I think your daughter’s having a party in there” you said feeling her feet. You also had your mom and daughter quality time, you talked to her most of the times telling her typical brazilian stories your mom told you once, or giving her a couple of wise words or you also sing to her even when you can’t compare your voice with Calum’s with brazilian or typical lullabies.
“Hi baby, I know you love this private concerts at night but mommy has to sleep too” he said closer to your bump. Calum helped her to go to sleep by telling her stories or how he can’t wait to have her in his arms. “Well, as I can see you want to be awake I’m going to tell how I met your gorgeous mother” he started. He keeps telling that story too, you always tease that she’s going to get bored of the story but Calum tells the story every single time with more love.

Short videos of yourself in sweats and your bra showing your growing belly of five months in the backyard taking the sun of LA and the spring that is left. Then in the pool, next with Duke aka your partner of naps when Calum was in the studio, who at the first months he laid his head on top of your belly but now that is bigger he just lays next to it.
Since you got your doctor’s confirmation, you did mini videos in the mirror of your bathroom to see the progress. Filming from different angles with different clothes like underwear or bikini, short or long dresses, thigh or loose, etc. Calum loves to appear in the take behind you kissing your neck and landing his hands in your belly. Now talking about bathroom, he also loves to help you to get into and out the shower, wrapping you with towels, putting your socks or shoes if you can’t reach your feet, zipping up your dress and if you had a rough day he prepares you a bath with bubbles and candles and joins you. He loves doing all of the previous thing before you got pregnant. You do by yourself your makeup, of course, but he teases you about he’ll be an amazing makeup artist.
“Not after what you did to me that time” you said at him remembering that funny video when he did your makeup.
+
When Andy isn’t around you’re in charge of filming like early in the morning when you wake up before Calum. Every morning he woke up with his head near your belly and his warm touch around. He looks so at peace sleeping because you know that the previous night he fell asleep late talking with the baby, it’s been his routine lately so in the morning you take the camera and film your view, you take the opportunity to brush Cal’s messy morning curls with your fingers for a while.

Calum had a surprise for you since you couldn’t travel to Brazil or neither to Australia because it was too risky as your doctor said. He told you that today you two have Ashton’s birthday lunch. He wasn’t lying because it was Ashton’s birthday but also the surprise he had so he was filming since early in the morning.
“Babe can you help me, please?” you called him from your shared room. He went upstair with his camera.
“Damn look at you! Baby mama slaying!” he praised you looking at you with troubles with the unzipped dress. You blushed but gave him a pose with your belly at the camera.
“Please help me, next week I have to buy clothes and underwear that can fit me” you turned and he slowly helped you because he didn’t want to damage the dress that barely was fitting on you. “You can say it” you said with a pout since you noticed that any piece of your clothes were fitting you.
Calum knowing about your hormones and how you’re feeling with the shape of your body, which he thinks that you can’t look more precious but understand your struggle, he just wanted you to feel good. “You look amazing honey and you know how much I love this dress” he said with a smirk and hugging you to kiss your neck and grab your ass.
“Okay Hood, let’s go if you don’t want to have twins…daddy” you teased him before he got more horny. You winked at him and grabbed your bag to go downstairs but he stopped you.
“I think that with this you’re going to look even hotter” he gave to you a luxury package ready for your reaction. You opened it and found the shiniest gold heavy chain, you looked at him shocked. “I got a similar one too, it represents the name we choose for our baby” he said and you were already tearing up and told him that it’s beautiful and he told you not to worry knowing that the next thing you were going to say that it wasn’t necessary because of the price. Once outside you kissed him before he helped you to get into the car.
“Still don’t understand why Ash’s going to celebrate his birthday two days before” you asked Calum while he’s driving.
Calum’s a really bad liar but he did his best to keep his surprise. “I told you babe, he’s going to be in Australia for the next weeks”. Lie. And you remembered how mad you were at Ash when he told you because he was going to miss the baby shower.
But once you arrived Ash’s place and went to the living room and saw a bunch of people jumping and screaming ‘surprise’ at you, you got scared and hid your face on Calum’s neck and he can felt a few tears because your and Cal’s families are here. You hugged everyone and thanked Calum once again for this. “I love you so much”.
“Love ya’ more” he said smiling down at you and kissed your crown. And the next day both of you and your families, the guys, close friends like your MUA’s friends and from the music industry were at your place. You’re wearing a more comfortable outfit than the day before, it was a black fitted midi tank dress and a rainbow tie-dyed hoodies that you and Calum ordered for the baby shower theme because you don’t like that thing that pink is for girls and blue for boys so everyone’s wearing the colorful outfit.
You’re posing in your garden full of beautiful flowers of different colors as everyone’s taking you pictures.
“More to the side” Mali said to have the perfect picture of you and your baby. Andy was filming every moment and zoomed it when you waved at his camera and the other hand on your belly. Then pictures with Calum, then the families, the guys, and everyone who was invited. Every single person can noticed your happiness and pure joy, you were glowing and even more with your soft peachy glowy makeup you did.
In the video the zoom’s now on your and Calum’s matching chains that you were wearing minutes before the reveal.
“Goddammit just say it!” Michael screamed impatient.
“Yeah, I bet Michael that it’s a boy” Luke said. They actually did bet five hundred.
“Why would you do that?!” Ashton stole words that Calum was going to say.
“Cause’ Y/N has two brothers and two nephews, maths Ash!” Luke said confident about his prediction.
Duke was hiding inside a box with the truth. When you both opened the box, Duke came out with a mini billboard hanging on his collar that says ‘It’s a GIRL!”
“YES!” Everyone screamed but mostly Michael because now he won those five hundred dollars.
+
“Definitely I’m going to be her godfather” Michael said looking at the guys. Andy asked them to say something for the video, they were sitting in the couch.
“Hell nah Michael… Focus! We have to say something to our niece” Luke said at him. “Hi kiddo, unfortunately we’re also your uncles, I’m uncle Luke and just wanna to let you know that you have the coolest family ever and you can count on us for everything”.
“Yeah, I hope you guys have clear that we’re going to spoil this baby a lot” Michael said looking at you and Calum, you nodded at him and he with his partner made it clear by bringing tons of gifts for the baby shower. “Cool, I’m just going to say that never be ashamed of who you are or your dreams and I know I’m going to be your favorite uncle because your birthday’s going to be near mine”. Michael said to the camera while he did his thing with his hair of always adjusting it.
“Hi dear niece, uncle Ash here, you’re so lucky to have your parents and they’re lucky to have you. Hope you have your mother’s features cause’ she’s hot…” Calum slapped his head from behind due to the comment. “Okay! your dad isn’t that bad tho…being serious live to the fullest cause’ life’s beautiful, especially if you play drums” Ashton laughed and you rolled your eyes at how all of them including Calum had been discussing which instrument the baby’s going to love most.

“You have to exercise, you gained ten pounds that weren’t planned” your doctor said. “Something light of course, and Calum, by the way you’re looking at me all scared, don’t worry cause’ everything’s going to be okay”.
“I’ve been craving a lot lately, I’m going to start again” you said swinging your legs like a child sitting once your doctor finished cleaning the gel of your belly. So the next morning you started again with yoga, you stopped for a month and that happened. You did yoga every morning with your personal trainer, since you can’t go to her studio because the secret will be revealed. Calum was also there encouraging you and sometimes Ashton, who assured you that he wasn’t there because he finds your trainer attractive.

@enews: Is Y/N pregnant? She’d been seen attending at 5sos shows this week and fans took pictures of her enjoying the show in the middle of the arena with friends and family in the restricted space. In the pictures we can see that she gained weight by her cheeks. In the picture you can’t see if there is a baby or not due to her outfits. She, with her husband Calum also are the last ones to leave the arenas asking the bodyguards to make sure there is no paps. What do you think? It’s confusing because she and Calum have been posting a lot lately and you can’t be sure about a little 5sos member coming BUT fans are saying that maybe they’re posting old stuff to confuse us and also fans called to respect their decision after what happened to the couple last year. Link in our bio to see the pictures.

“Do you want to say something to your granddaughter?” your brother asked with the camera to your parents and you melted at how cute your family looked with the hoodies on.
“Ugh, I can’t wait to hold you, kiss you, hug you, teaching you things that maybe your mommy can’t teach you” your mom said all emotional.
Your dad said to the camera that they can’t wait to have your baby visiting Brazil and teach her all about your culture and country. And you couldn’t be more agree with them. You want to show your daughter her roots, teach her portuguese and bring her to the carnivals in Brazil, spend all day in the beach walking with her in the seashore holding your hand and a lot of things that you have in the list. The same that Calum has in my mind since he found out about his baby but visiting Australia.
“I know you’re going to be smartest and most beautiful baby in the world and as you can see you got us wrap around your finger and every single person that loves you” Calum’s mom said to the camera.
“I’m going to be the best auntie I promise” Mali said to the camera and her dad joked about she and your best friends are the only aunties, because your baby has more uncles that aunties and that’s going to be fun.

“A doble vegetarian cheeseburger with caramelized onion and fries, please” you said from the passenger seat ordering your food to the worker of your favorite place for your cravings. Not taking risks to leave the car. Since you stopped working when you were five months you’ve been wearing baggy clothes to go outside and your designer friends have been sending you all kind of clothes from baggy and comfy dresses but still elegant and chic to pants and underwear that are the pieces you needed since every day your belly grows. Your best friend was driving and Mali was filming from the back. “And two portions of fries and a strawberry vegan milkshake, please… thank you!” you said with a guilty look to the camera. Later you’re going to ask why your doctor told you to lose weight.
In another occasion that Michael invited all of you guys for dinner and you had in your plate a lot of things you took. “What do you have here?” Andy asked filming.
“Well we have mac n’ cheese, french fries and sweet potato fries, two cheeseburgers of course one for me and one for the baby and a lot of salad because why not?” you said raising your shoulders.
But it hasn’t always been this way with your cravings and just beautiful things during your pregnancy because isn’t the truth.
Your cravings were so crazy and even things you didn’t like before that suddenly you want to eat that Calum reminded you that you hate that but doesn’t argue with you because you were going to get mad. It started with a lot of sweet things like cake or pies, fruits or chocolate and a lot of ice cream. Then peanut butter with watermelon, yeah, gross. To food that you love but hated being pregnant. Also food that one day you loved and the next morning you were disgusted and the next one loved again. And it ended with a lot of salty food like cheeseburgers, pasta, nuggets, etc but your loyal friend during the 9 months was ice cream.
“Babe I want to eat feijoada!” you pouted at Calum with a huge crave of your favorite typical brazilian dish. Calum couldn’t believe what he was hearing, it was 2 am and you were hungry and not in the best mood. “And also passionfruit ice cream, please”.
Calum did everything but the brazilian restaurant you love was already closed and he didn’t have idea how to do it. “We have the ice cream tho” he suggested if you changed your mind but that didn’t happen. You were going to start crying, the hormones were doing their thing that day.
Calum really wanted to spoil you but he had no idea what to do. He tried to facetime your family but he would have understood if they hadn’t answered because it was 6 am in Brazil. Thank God, your middle brother already started his day and when Calum told him what he wanted to do, your brother really realized how much he loves you. So he told him the steps, the recipe and the special secret of your family tradition, Calum told himself for the next one to pay attention when you or another person cook this dish.
“K’ thank you man, say hello to the rest, bye!” Calum waved through the phone once the feijoada was done.
“You are going to be a good dad, Cal. Now go to spoil your girls!” your brother waved at him too. And Calum really appreciated that comment.
“Sorry babe for being a pain in the ass lately” you said to Calum while you eat the ice cream laying against the headboard of the bed. He didn’t let you apologize for that because you’re doing something majestic and it was more than normal the things you had been through.
Even when those moments aren’t going to appear in the video, Calum’s going to for sure telling your baby your crazy cravings. When you cried more than once watching puppy videos on Instagram and Calum asking you “babe what happened?” and you just told him “it’s just that the puppy’s so cute” and he comforting you every time you cried when the hormones were crazy.
When you struggled with clothes. “Baby I’m doing my best” you said almost holding your breath and Calum trying to zip up your blue dress but in the middle of the night still end up broke. That night was a mess, you were out with Calum celebrating Tyler’s birthday, a friend of yours and you were half undressed that Calum gave you his jacket to cover the mess and then you started to feel sick when you caught the smell of a strong cheese.
How to forget how you feel with your body. The pain in your back, your feet, your breasts or when you felt so tired sometimes. How some days you were feeling yourself and other days you felt the most horrendous person. Some days the sexiest woman in the world and others the most unwanted one when you found a new stretch mark or how big your breasts and butt are, the pounds you gained.
“I promised that I used to be sexy, look baby” you said at Calum showing him a picture of you when you were 18 years old, you were in Copacabana with your friends in a party. Calum every day letting know how much he loves you and told you that you’re always going to be the prettiest woman in the world even when you had chocolate all over your face. He helps you too with your body issues because for his eyes all of these new things are a reminder of your little peanut and he loves every single inch of your body.
+
8 months
“I’m thirty four weeks today, just a month left” you said to the camera showing your belly. “Look baby, your daddy’s painting your room” pointing at Calum applying the peachy paint in the walls and later you were going to add with black paint some trees and other things like clouds, sun, the moon, etc.
Calum was already a 24/7 daddy. He called the guys to help him with the crib and the rest of the furniture. He had ready the bags for the hospital and the plan for that day.
+
Since you decided to keep your pregnancy a secret and to stop working and stay at home and not be in the public eye, you still had fun doing puzzles, playing with makeup, inviting your friends when Calum had to go to work. And every day you worked from home too, you still had to manage your makeup studio and your clients glam.
Tonight you prepared dinner, a brazilian night. You invited everyone and after you were goofing around in the living room with music in the back. The guys made you laugh at their attempt to dance samba. You decided to join the baby mama dance flexing your pregnant dance moves so you started filming with the front camera of your phone and dancing with the rest to ‘All Me’ by Kehlani.
+
“What if she isn’t into makeup?” Andy asked you in the baby shower. This is the first time you speak for the video.
“It doesn’t matter. She can do and choose anything she likes, I just want to teach her that she as a girl that girls can. To empower her if she likes science, art or sports or whatever I’m going to be there for and with her. Baby just remember that I’m going to love you every single day of my life and I’m sure that you’re the coolest and prettiest Maori-Brazilian girl in the world and you should be proud of that. We with your dad are waiting for you, love ya’”. you said to the camera.
“Hi princess, well I’m going to try not to cry while I say this but I can’t explain how much we love you and can’t wait to finally have you in my arms and sing to you and have fun with you. You’re my sunshine and your mom’s my soulmate, that tv show I saw was right about soulmate but the truth is that Uber was mine” Calum said to the camera smiling so big that his eyes crinkled and you giving him a look because that question about if that Uber was yours or his is going to be forever a topic, but one thing for sure is that moment changed everything.
+
“Calum!” you screamed from the living room where you were resting after dinner with Duke in the couch. Calum arrived in a second running from the backyard. You were suddenly scared. “Don’t know if Duke peed in the couch or…” and the next thing you saw was Calum taking the bags and helping you to get up to lead you to the car. He was freaking out inside but he tried to keep calm and always reminding you to breath when a contraction hit you.
Andy filmed when he arrived the maternity floor in the hospital. Everyone was waiting outside the labor room. He gave your mom the camera as she was inside the room with Calum next to you.
“Five centimeters left” the nurse said. For the video you decided to cover the screen so everyone will see just a black screen.
“Everyone’s here” your mom said while you wait. “We, Cal’s family, the boys, Natali, Marcela and Andy with Sarah”. And all of them were nervous waiting with fingers crossed with shuddering legs and feet against the floor waiting for Calum to go outside to say that the baby’s here and that you are fine.
You didn’t put in the video the ugly side of contractions and the pain you were feeling. The word you heard a billion times was ‘breath’, ‘take a deep breathe’.
“You’re going to meet your little girl” your doctor said to you and Calum once you were ten centimeters ready. You wanted to scream at your doctor for everything that the nurses put on you. How painful the epidural shot was and the every 3 or 5 minutes the contractions were. Till today you’re more than grateful that you had Calum supporting and helping you and also that he didn’t pass out. He’s going to be forever amazed at how your body and mind really did that and carried your little princess.
“Okay, eight, nine and… ten. Go, push” you heard. “Good job Y/N, keep going please take a breath”. “One more and you’re done” your doctor said and in that moment you felt how Calum held your hand with all of his energy.
“You can do this baby” he said encouraging you. You were tired and all sweaty but your reminder was that one more to hold your baby.
Cries filled the room letting you know that she’s finally here. “Open your eyes mama” the nurse said to meet your baby before you fall asleep.
“You did it baby, congrats” Calum was crying while he kissed your forehead, so do you. “I love you mama” he said. He couldn’t believe that years ago he didn’t believe in love but getting into that Uber that Christmas Eve was, is and is going to be forever the best decision of his life.
To our baby

Dear Diary prt. 2
A/N I have like five chapters of this written, maybe more. People requested for the second part of it. Please let this entertain you while my brain forgets to write filthy smut.
Word Count: 2,691
July 26th 2011,
And that was it, The night I lost my first boyfriend, the night I lost my best friend and most importantly my exciting night with George MacKay.
Taylor drove George, Mason and I to McDonald's where we all pigged out on French fries and Vodka laced milkshakes until they kicked us out at one o’clock. Taylor then insisted that they drive me home, no matter how much I insisted I could walk.
George walked me to my front door, kissed my forehead and thanked me for the night’s entertainment and reminded me that Julian McDonald was nothing, and Sarah was nothing more than a stalker.
That was ten days ago, He hadn’t asked for my number, he hadn’t added me on Facebook and he most certainly hadn’t shown up at my front door. No matter how much I wished he would. I was stupid for even thinking he would. It was dumb, I know but we connected on that roof, or at least I thought we had.
Who knows maybe he had some rule about waiting more than ten days.
July 30th 2011,
Dear Diary,
This is now a sad sob story. I’m infatuated with a boy I’d spent less than twelve hours with, and it was worse than everyone's current obsession with Justin Bieber.
August 4th 2011,
Dear future Y/N,
Today is the day you found out you got into Edinburgh. Congratulations.
Love, 2011 Y/N.
P.S You’re way still in obsessed with George.
September 11th 2011,
Dear Diary,
I think instead of referring to this as you as ‘Diary’ I think I’ll start to open with ‘Dear Future Y/N’ since that’s who this all for. The future Y/N whose probably lost her marbles over worrying about George MacKay and if anything he’d said to her on that day in July meant anything to him like it did to us, past and present Y/N. (And probably future) anyway,
I guess I should apologise to future Y/N for leaving so long between each entry. I suck at this thing… My bad, for your sake I hope I get better at this.
But today at least I’m doing something worth remembering. I’m finally moving away from home and spreading my wings, where to you may ask? Well, future Y/N whose lost her marbles, at one point you were smart enough to get into University. Not just any University. As previously mentioned, in my ‘many’ entries (That was sarcasm by the way, just in case you forget It when you get old) I got into Edinburgh University, and today I was officially moving in.
I walk through the apartment with a huge smile on my face.
There are three bedrooms one shares no walls and is the largest of the three, the other two shares one wall. A small slightly outdated bathroom separated the lone bedroom and the living room, offering some semblance of peace for whoever claimed it. The apartment was finished with a combined living/dining area with a door leading out onto a smallish balcony and a decent-sized kitchen.
The furniture looked on the newer side. There were some suspicious stains on the settee, and the carpet which to me looked like red wine, but from what I could tell none of our neighbours seemed too loud, nor danced naked on their balcony, not that it wouldn’t be interesting to watch if they did.
My roommates hadn’t arrived yet when mum, dad and I lugged all my luggage in. Mum and Dad couldn’t stay long once they’d dropped me off, enough to remind me to eat vegetables and take my studies seriously before Dad decided it was time for them to head on home, I didn’t really mind, the sooner they left the sooner I got used to being without them. A big change for someone who’d lived at home all their lives but I was excited. I had a flat one-thirds to myself, no parents looking over my shoulder, watching how many vegetables I ate at dinner, how much red wine I tried to sneak when they’d let me have a glass.
The first of my two roommates to arrive was Dean Charles Chapman, He was on the taller side, attractive. He’d have no problem finding people to entertain him in his downtime.
“Y/N right?” Dean smiled holding his hand out, I shook it quickly nodding my head. “You the first one here?”
“Yeah, just me.” Dean nodded walking over to the window that overlooked our small balcony. “It’s a pretty nice place.” Dean turned, nodding his head.
“Oh yeah.” He scoffed. “My brother attended University here, graduated a year ago. He never had a place this nice.” He walked towards the rooms. “You pick a room yet?” I shook my head. “Why not?”
“Didn’t seem fair.” Dean smiled, he was handsome, you could clearly see how he’d be able to charm a jury even if his client was guilty as sin.
“Well, pick a room. First in best-dressed.” He pushed one of my bags at me. “I’ll help you move your stuff in.” He picked up another as I led him towards the biggest room, the one with no shared walls. “Makes sense for you to have the biggest room, you are the only girl.” Wait, what?
“There’s no other girl?” I stopped turning to Dean. “How do you know that? Harry could also be a girls name.” Dean laughed putting down what he was carrying on the double bed.
“His name is Harry Styles, I played him in football through High School and he is most definitely a guy.”
“So I’m going to be the only girl in a flat full of guys, where you’ll bring other girls home and have loud sex with them all night long…”
“Is that what you think guys do?” Dean was clearly amused by me.
“Isn’t it?” He thinks a minute before he shrugs, conceding before holding his hand over his heart.
“I promise you Y/N, I won’t bring home and loud girls, and you’ll never have to pretend to be my girlfriend to get rid of them in the morning.” He smiled, taking his hand down before shrugging his shoulders. “Unless you want to.”
“I think I’ll pass for now on that chore… But I’ll ah, I’ll keep it in mind Dean.”
“Suit yourself, but if you do need help getting rid of any of your… conquests…”
“Never an appropriate term.”
“I’m sure Harry and I can deal with them,” Dean smirked ignoring me.
“You don’t have to worry about that Dean.” He nodded his head as if he understood where I was going with this.
“You got a boyfriend then?” I shook my head.
“No, I’m actually practising being a nun.” I smiled sweetly. Dean’s mouth dropped open a little, he looked me up and down as I began to unpack my bags.
“You’re a nun?” I nodded my head again. “But you don’t look like a nun.”
“And what does a nun look like Dean? Huh?” I laughed.
“Well, they’re meant to be all scary looking, you know like in the movies.” He sat down on my bed, if I were, to be honest, he looks rather traumatised. “I can’t believe my flatmate is a nun.”
“I’m messing with you, Dean.” I laughed unable to keep a straight face any longer. “I just don’t think I’ll really have time to sleep around this year.”
“So first you’re a nun, and now you sleep around?”
“No, not like that…”
“So which are you? A nun, or a slag?”
“I’m neither. I’m just saying my course work is going to be full-on, I won’t have time to see anyone…”
“Y/N, if you think I’m going to put up with your booty calls dragging in and out of here, all night long…”
“I’ve never had a booty call because I’ve never had sex before.” That stopped Dean in his tracks, It was as if someone had thrown cold water all over his body.
“You’re a virgin?”
“Is that all your brain picked up on?” I rolled my eyes, picking my laptop out of the bag and sitting it on the desk.
“I’m sorry, it’s just… Don’t take this the wrong way either, but you’re not ugly.”
“Thanks, Dean.”
“I mean it, you’ve got great tits, and you’ve got nice eyes I guess.”
“My physical appearance is not the reason I’ve not had sex.”
“Then what is?”
“That I haven’t found a boy I like enough to let them see me naked.” Dean sat down on the bed, again and continued to watch me for a moment.
“You know there is a difference between having sex and seeing someone naked, Y/N.” I stopped fiddling with my pink shirt and looked up at him. “Put it this way, seeing someone naked can be seen as an intimate thing, whereas having sex with someone can be totally casual. Most times there’s no need to get completely undressed.” He crossed one leg over the other, he was really ready to dive in on his theory. “The number of girls I’ve had a one night stand with, or a supply closet quickie with that haven’t been completely naked it’d astound you.” He shook his head, smirking in self-satisfaction. Obviously, some happy memories were filling his head. “Sorry, but what I mean is you can have sex without someone seeing you naked…”
“Okay, let’s rephrase then. I have yet to find someone I like enough to let them put their penis in me.” I smiled sweetly. “Better?”
“And this is exactly the first conversation I thought I would hear my two roommates talking about.” I stood up straight, my clothes falling onto my bed. At the door stood the person I could only assume to be Charlie, a backpack slung over his shoulder. “Yeah, this'll be a great year.” He laughed tapping the door jamb as he walked away. I turned back to Dean glaring.
“Great, now he thinks we’re crazy.” I hissed as I threw the clothes on my bed and walked out after Charlie, finding him spread out on the couch. “Hi.” I waved. “I’m Y/N.”
“The virgin.” Dean chimed in as he walked out of my room. “Hey Charlie, catch the game the other day?”
“Yeah, absolutely mental,” I have no clue what so ever what they’re talking about. “You really a virgin?” Harry looked me up and down, just like Dean had.
“Do I need to get it tattoo’d on my forehead?” Dean cackled as he walked over to Charlie, sitting beside him on the lounge.
“Not necessary, it’s just hard to believe.” Harry shrugged as if this was the most normal conversation for three complete strangers to be having.
“Why is it so hard to believe?”
“Cause you’re not ugly,” Harry shrugged once more, seconds later being hit on the shoulder by Dean.
“Exactly what I said.” I threw my arms up in the air and walked back to my bedroom, ignoring Dean and Charlie. “Hey, C’mon Y/N,” Dean called out. “We have to go get food and everything still. You can’t be pissed at us just yet. How else are you going to get dinner.”
Fuck these guys.
“Fine.” I groaned storming back out from where I’d come, “Can we go now though so when we get back we can just unpack and not have to leave again?”
“Sure,” Harry stood up picking up his keys. “I’ll drive.”
“That’s good cause I don’t have a car,” I called behind him.
“Don’t drive?” Dean looked over his shoulder as we all walked to the front door, checking we each had our set of keys before shutting the door behind us.
“Back home was so small and compact, I didn’t really need it.” Dean nodded.
“I can teach you if you want, sometime throughout the year?”
“That’d be great Dean.” I smiled, genuinely touched by his offer. “So what are you each studying?” I turned walking back down the hallway. “Wait, let me guess.” I looked over Harry studying his face. “Harry is going to be a politician, and you Dean, you’re  gonna be a lawyer.”
“Got me.” Dean smiled.
“I saw your coursebook on the table.” I giggled, turning to Charlie. “Well?”
“Not me,” Harry followed quickly. I frowned, “I’m going to be a History teacher, Ancient preferably but I’d settle for modern.” I raised an eyebrow, not what I was expecting from Charlie. “Not what you expected.” He smiled as if he read my mind.
“Not even close.” I laughed before my body got pushed towards them. “What the fork.” I cried as I fell into Charlie, both of us unable to stabilise ourselves we fell in a heap on the floor.
“Shit, you guys okay?” I froze. I knew that voice. A loud thump came from beside us, a box dropped to the ground. “Here let me help you.” George, I rolled myself over, propping myself up on my elbows looking up at him from the ground. He recognised me, freezing for a minute before a huge smile filled his face. “Y/N? What are you doing here?”
“You mean here at the University, or here as in the ground?” I looked over at Charlie. “With Charlie?” I added. George laughed, reaching out and grabbing onto me. He easily pulled me up. Harry pulled himself up quickly, standing off behind me with Dean. I didn’t care where he was right now I was too engulfed by George MacKay.
“Same old Y/N.” George laughed pushing some of my hair behind my ear. Done by anyone else the gesture would have been misplaced, but being done by George it could easily be passed off as a casual gesture. “But I do mean at the University.”
“I’m attending Uni here.” I pointed over my shoulder, “Dean, Harry and I all share a flat two doors down. We were just heading out to get food.” I noticed the bag on his shoulder. “Are you dropping someone off?”
“No, I go here too.” I couldn’t help but smile.
“Model career didn’t work out then?”
“Not just yet.” George stood back to take a good look at me. “I can’t believe I ran into you.”
“Literally.” Dean pipped up in the background. George didn’t look up at him.
“I wanted to drop by after the party, but I thought you might need some time to breathe.”
“I appreciate that.” I turned back to look at Harry and Dean, both were watching the conversation intently. “Sorry, Dean, Harry this is George. We’re from the same town.”
“Nice to meet you, George,” Dean extended his hand out slapping against George’s. “Do you watch football?”
“Yeah. A mad Liverpool supporter, you?”
“Chelsea,” Harry let out a low whistle. George’s eyes turned to him.
“This is why he’s going to be a lawyer, he’s got a lot of practice lying about Chelsea being a good team.” Harry extended his hand out to George, “I’m Charlie, also a Liverpool fan.”
In what parallel universe was I introducing George  Richards to people, as if we were good friends. This was weird. So weird.
“We better get going… It was good to see you, George.” Play it cool Y/N. Like an ice-cube.
“You too.” I smiled once more before walking past him. We got to the end of the hallway before either Harry or Dean spoke again.
“I thought you said you didn’t have a boyfriend,” Dean questioned as he pressed the button for the elevator.
“I don’t.”
“Then what’s going on with you and George?” Dean smirked as the doors opened. “Because I’m sure if you really wanted that pesky little thing called your virginity gone, I’m sure he’d take it for you.” Dean chuckled. “Just saying.”
“God Dean, I forgot how sex-driven you were.” Harry shook his head, stepping inside.
“Unlike you Dean, I don’t have the desire to let anyone take me to bed.”
“At the moment,” Dean chuckled.

Pretend- richard camacho
Theme: fluff and angst I guess
Warnings: mild language & alcohol reference.
A/n: I love writing imagines that are a mixture of fluff and angst. And I’m sorry all my imagines are the same. This has not been proofread
Tumblr media
Richard was your bestfriend, a bestfriend that you liked. Their were moments when you thought he liked you. But you soon realized Richard is just a touchy person by nature. He can’t talk to anyone without using his hands. You were sitting at one of their music video shoots. Watching Aaliyah. Holding her in your arms you bounced your leg up and down as she was falling asleep. Zoning out you didn’t even notice Richard sneaking up on you. His hand trying to grab Aaliyah from your arms. You pull her away ready to fight the person. Until Richard busts out laughing.
“Woah, mami chill you’re really cute when you’re angry” Richard plays off, handing his daughter to him you scoff “I’m sorry I scared you mami” he kisses your head softly. Saying nothing you just sit down afraid your rambles would pull at the seams. “Hey you alright?” Richard asks his tone changing to a deep vibrato.
“Yeah I’m fine, just tired” you answer and truth be told you were, playing with Aaliyah on set and waking up early. Your shift was insane last night you had to cover for a co-worker. Sleep wasn’t a thing for you. Richard grabs your hand helping you from the chair “Cmon, lets get you somewhere to rest” Richard mumbles, you guys go in the dressing room where there is a couch as soon as you three enter the room, the boys say hi to you again and exit the room. He puts Aaliyah in her bed that his managers bought for her. You sit on the couch laying your head against the arms, but Richard comes from behind you and cuddles you.
“Don’t you have to be back for shooting?” You ask curiously
“No, we have a break now” Richard mumbles in your neck “so let’s take a nap”
Twenty minutes later, the swinging of doors and shouting from his managers wake the both of you guys up including aaliyah. Rolling your eyes you sit up rubbing your eyes. “Richard! We’ve been calling you for fifteen minutes, it’s time to film again” the manager then looks at you with a disgusted face “and you can you go home please you’re distracting my client” they argue, before the words could fly out your mouth Richard defends you.
“Don’t talk to her like that, but you also do realize we’ve been on set since earlier this morning, we need breaks” Richard aggressively argues “if she doesn’t stay I’m walking off set” Richard walks past the manager and I grab Aaliyah trying to rock her back to sleep.
“You really think you’ll have him? He’s too busy and you’re way far from pretty for him” a girl from the set smiles, not really taking in her words, you just continue to focus on Aaliyah.
Hours later it was aaliyah’s turn to head with her mother, Richard asked you to accompany him because Aaliyah whined to see you one last time. “Bye lovely” you smile, Aaliyah smiles waving at you and giving her dad one last kiss.
Seeing Richard with his daughter just made you fall more for him. You just imagined for that second. What if all the gestures he did was real. What if they were done everyday and not the heat of the moment. You’re dealing with facades and living in weird alternate realities. You’re pretending it’s okay when he tell you about his hookup stories. You pretend how excited you are to hear about your sudden interests in a girl. You love Richard You do. But hearing this breaks you down inside. Not wanting to look at him you turn around heading the the car trying to hold the tears in your swollen heart together.
He’s talking to someone new, you couldn’t interfere with that. You snap the seatbelt on, hearing nothing but the ringing sounds in your ears. Your hollow heart whistling with the crisp winds. Searching for your headphones a hand grabs yours. “Y/n?” Richard softly pleads
“Yes?” You answer quite calmly
“Are you sure you’re okay? You’ve been acting standoffish all day” Richard pushes
“Yeah I’m fine Richard, like I said I’m just tired, I covered for two people last night” you remind him of your internal crisis.
“You know you can tell me anything right?” Richard reminds you, he was always the type to ask about your day, listen to your heart pouring out the toxic chemical of a bad day. Was there to give you back rubs. Cuddles. Whatever physical medicine to cure your pain, Richard was there.
“Yeah I know, lets go we don’t wanna be late for your friends party!” You say with enthusiasm.
Arriving at Richards friends house his hand is on your lower back while drinking whatever was in his cup. For some odd reason tonight he didn’t want to leave your your side. His excuse was “I don’t want someone to offer you a drink, these people may try any slick shit” but you knew better than to grab a drink from a stranger. You see that same girl from set. She smiles walking up to Richard. “Hey care for one dance?” She smiles, Richard is hesitant at first but you push him towards her, while poking his ego.
“Scared to dance with a woman? I thought you were the king of that” you smile as they walk off into the distance. You’ve pretended so long it became your role. It was like coming to a movie set and just reading a script. It became natural to you. whenever someone asked “who’s you dream boy” your mind always went to Richard. Could you admit it out loud? Never. When you’re looking for love you pretend it’s him. And it’s a love that seems to never end. Watching how he connected with the girl on the dance made you instantly regret it.
You just couldn’t pretend anymore. The mask on your face began to crack, trailing the shards of pain and tears along with you. Escaping through the swear bodies and clouds of smoke, the first empty room you could puzzle out was the one you would let it all out. Your tears not even letting you make it to the bed. Your back slamming against the beds footboard. Your knees balled up to your face. Washing away the light makeup you’d applied.
You just wanted all this make believe to be reality. “Y/n?!” The voice causing your hairs to trickle up your arms. “Go away” you muffle through the fabrics.
“Yeah right like I’ll listen” Richard, removes your arms out your face, see the glistening shine on you cheekbones. “So are you really going to tell me what’s going on?” Richard places each of his legs on each side of your frame, pulling himself in closer, holding your hands. Kissing your knuckles softly. Your tears come back up from each tender kiss.
“You gotta stop this Richard, please it’s actually painful” your voice rubs dry.
“I’m trying to help you baby”
“Stop treating me like I’m your girlfriend knowing you don’t want me to be!” You cry, pulling your hands away your face turnt towards the wall. You can’t bear to look at him feeling embarrassed and emotional. “You don’t love me in the way Richard, but I do, I really do, but I couldn’t pretend anymore, I didn’t mean to tell you this way but here it is” you end that sentence sarcastically.
“And what valid proof you have that inquires I don’t feel that way too y/n?” Richard asks hinting a tint of frustration in his voice, turning around his eyes were darted on your frame. “Tell me since you know so much y/n, tell me since you automatically know how I feel about you” Richard calms down, his fingers against your cheek as you try to stop the tears.
“I love you y/n” Richard adds, in sudden shock your eyes widen and you freeze. Time suddenly stop making you think this was a dream, closing your eyes with your head down you felt a warm kiss on your cheeks “look at me baby” the voice pleads. Raising your head up you look into Richards, oh how they reflected a glass mirror.
“I want to be with you, not the girls I’ve hooked up with, or the girls from set, I want you and only you” he soften his tone
“You could have any other girl, they’re prettier too so why don’t you?”
“Yeah they may be pretty, but so are you, my heart wants you not just for the outside the inside too, most of them are rotten on the inside not you” before you could say any further Richard makes you swallow your words fusing your lips together. Something you wished forever to happen. His hand on the nape of your neck. Your body changing from frigid to cozy. Slowly Richard pulls away but not before he leaves one last peck upon your lips.
“We should go back to the hotel, I want to cuddle and watch movies with you” Richard looks into your eyes you smile scrunching your nose up at him “now I can finally tell how much you hurt my fucking heart being beautiful”
“Shut up” you push him slightly.
When you guys got back to the hotel ate pizza and played board games, now the both of y’all are cuddled in bed. Talking to his daughter that FaceTime him. “Did you finally tell y/n?” She smiles “si mi amour, she’s right here babygirl” he puts the camera on you, smiling sheepishly “hi lovely”
“Daddy makes you happy?” She asks smiling
“Yeah he does baby, but you make me happier” you joke Richard gives you a side eye , giggling your nerves you kiss his hand softly. “I miss you!!” Aaliyah says jumping up and down you guys talked to her until it was her bedtime. Your leg was tosses against his waist as you trace the outlines of his tattoos. Rubbing your back with his hand he pulls you in closer.
“I hope you’re ready for the million pictures and videos I will take of you” Richard speaks softly “just to show you how beautiful you are”
“You’re so soft Richard”
“It takes a real woman to make a man soft, I love you”
“I love you more”

Ellie quietly wandered the halls of Langston, head down, never noticed by anyone and she never spoke to anyone either.  It was just her and her thoughts, her roommate flaked out the first two weeks of fall semester. Not like she ever really talked to the girl. Her day consists of getting up, going to school, homework, dinner, shower, bed. Rinse, lather, repeat, Every day for 6 months.
She tried to keep her mind busy,  she never fully tuned it out. Behind all the math problems and research papers, he was always there like a cancerous tumor sucking the life out of her. she didn't hate it, it was quite the opposite really, she loved it, she needed it to get by the long days and lonely nights.
The night they finally took the brotherhood down, was one of the proudest moments she felt. They watched as Jason was hauled off in handcuffs, a tiny sliver of justice for Kaneko. She said goodbye to Toby, Ximena, even Mona, she knew they would move on from the crew. When Logan said goodbye it stung, she cared a great deal for him. He was the first guy she had ever kissed, or even had feelings for but, he wasn't Colt. From the moment they met, he drove her crazy, he annoyed her to no end and he was a complete jerk but she was drawn to him like a moth to a flame.
She had just finished submitting her final paper to her English teacher when she ran to her dorm room, grabbed her bags and headed to the airport. When she left for the summer program at Langston she told her dad she would see him at thanksgiving. She reluctantly left her car behind, a deal her father and her came to for breaks such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring break, In the summer she would drive home. It was finally Thanksgiving and she couldn't wait.  she pressed the imaginary gas pedal on the airplane floor, secretly hoping it would get her there faster.
The sound of a screaming child filled the cabin, Ellie popped her earbuds in, attempting to drown out the noise. Just a little bit longer,  almost there she kept telling herself. Once they landed, she grabbed her luggage and looked for her dad. She seen him standing in the pick up area holding one of those makeshift signs that read Wheeler. "Dad, you're such a dork." She flung her arms around him. "Yeah, the coolest dork you'll ever meet." He retorted.
They got in the car and made the drive to the house, sure she couldn't wait to be home.  She was looking forward to seeing Riya and Darius, having Thanksgiving dinner at her grandparents, but she had more pressing matters to attend to. They pulled into the driveway and Ellie ran into the house,  flinging her luggage on the bed. She had to play it carefully, not to tip her dad off as to her plans. She came down stairs and like clockwork her dad asked if she was hungry. "Sure thing dad." She smirked, knowing after he ate he would want to take a nap.
"So. Any plans with Riya? She's home from Hartfeld this week." Dad asked as he put the dishes in the sink.  "Yeah we actually made some plans to catch up. Speaking of, can I use your car to see if shes home?" Her dad reached in his pocket handing her the keys "Just be careful, I'm going to take a nap."
Ellie ran up to her room, she flung open her suitcase and changed out of her leggings and baggy t shirt into a pair of jeans and a crop top.
She ran to the car, turning the key as the engine roared to life. It wasn't her car, but it would do.
She made the drive into the city, stopping at where the sideshow was, but nothing was there. She pulled down another street and parked in front of the familiar building. Not much had been done with the burned out shell of its former self, it looked as if time stood still. It was boarded up in attempts to keep people out, she walked around the building until she found a loose board and slipped in. The inside was hardly touched, some sorting had been done, she knew Colt had come back the day he gave her the cactus. There wasn't much left of the place, some debris strewn about, some shells of cars that once sat in the bay. It was clear nobody had been here, and the realization that nobody was coming back began to set it.
She thought she needed to come here, that maybe she would find something other then the burnt remains of the place that changed her, or someone.  The tears began to sting her eyes, so many memories in such a short time. Ever since they parted ways, she felt like a part of her was missing. There was a gaping hole in her heart that ached, she grasped her chest as ler legs failed her. For 6 months she kept her phone glued to her, in hopes someone would just reach out, for 6 months she prayed that someone would come for her, that she wasn't alone, and she meant something to them.
She sat alone on the floor of Kaneko's garage in a heap of ash and soot, crying her eyes out.  They were gone, you're just a tourist ringing in her head.  She was in fact alone, they weren't  coming back for her and it was time to try and move on.
She made her way back home, covered head to toe in the black substance that stained the floors of the garage, much like the stains on her heart. After a long cry in the hot shower, Ellie pulled open her closet door and started to hang her clothes inside when she spotted something tucked away behind her prom dress. She couldn't imagine what it might be, it was larger than any of her clothes. Gripping the petal pink fabric she pulled the dress forward,  giving easier access to the mystery item. Her fingers began to tremble, her nerves on edge as she ripped the clothing hanging in front of it off the hangers and tossed them to the floor reaching her goal item.
Ellie staggered backwards, item in hand.  the backs of her knees hitting the mattress causing her to sit. She stared blankly at the jacket in front of her, Colts leather jacket. How did it get there? She didn't think it was there when she packed for Langston, but could she have missed it?
She held the soft leather to her face, the scent of his cologne putting her immediately at ease. This was all she had left of him, that and the few photos and texts she had saved in her phone. Ellie slipped the jacket on, it was over sized but she didn't care. She placed her hands in the pockets pulling it flush to her body as if it were his arms wrapped around her.  Her fingers brushed against something and she pulled it from the pocket.
She stared down at the folded piece of paper, she recognized the stationary, it was one from her desk. Unfolding it slowly, tears began to well on her eyes in anticipation. His penmanship was far better then she anticipated but she knew better then to expect to unexpected when it came to Colt Kaneko.
Ellie,
If you are reading this that means you have found my jacket in your closet. I am risking everything coming here and sneaking in.   I just needed you to have it, to have something of me with you in this cold, unforgiving world.
Im not good with words, and feelings so im going to try my best. I love you Ellie Wheeler, I probably have since the moment I laid eyes on you at the side show, only I couldn't admit it to myself then.
I know you think that I don't care but leaving you, was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I meant what I said, we will see each other again.
I watched you give your speech at graduation,  It took everything I had in me not to run out there and kiss you. I am so proud of you valedictorian. And just a little while ago when you drove away for College, I just had to see you if only at a distance. Keeping you safe will always be my priority,  and with the fbi breathing down my back, letting you go was the only way.
Live your life to the fullest Elle, don't cry for me im not worth your tears. Have fun in college, make friends, fall in love. You are amazing and you deserve to be happy. I hope that when our paths do cross again, you accomplished everything you set out to. I think your dad may be home so I have to run. Remember I will always Love you Ellie, even if I can't be with you.
Love, Colt.
She closed the letter, tears streaming down her face as she laid down on her bed. He was at her graduation, and when she left for Langston. She was hurting but she knew she had to move on, and now with his jacket she had a piece of him with her.
Two weeks went by in the blink of an eye, before she knew it she was back at Langston.  She drug her luggage down the long hall to her dorm room, she reached for her key, opening her door she walked into a different room then when she left. The opposite side of the room, once empty was decorated in pink, pink as far as the eye could see. Ellie flung her bags onto the bed, collapsing next to them when the sound of the door opening startled her. She sat up, eyes wide staring at the person in front of her. "Hey roomie!"

Secret Pen Pals Ch. 4
Keira’s POV
Weeks passed too quickly. My parents came up the weekend after my birthday and we had a fun time eating sushi and talking. Of course, they asked how my love life was doing and I noticed disappointment cross their features when I said I wasn’t seeing anybody. Not yet anyway.
‘I’m not getting any younger. You need to find someone soon so I can have grand-children,’ Mom had told me that night.
‘Mom. I thought you’re too young for them,’ I stated.
‘But honey, don’t you want someone to spend the rest of your life with? Start a family?’ she argued. You have no idea how much I want that. Maybe I’ve found that one person. Steve, I thought.
           ‘Mom. Please,”
‘She’s right. You’ve been in New York for two years. Surely, you’ve found people to go out with?’ my dad chimed in.
“Dad? Not you too. I’ll find someone when I’m ready. I’ve been too busy with work,’
‘I don’t think watching dogs keeps you that busy. What about your friends? Can’t they set you up with someone?’ Dad stated. There it was, the disappointment of what I did for a living. I could’ve told them about Steve and the letters, but I knew I’d get the same reaction as my friends.
‘I don’t want to talk about this anymore. If that’s all, then I’ll see you for Thanksgiving. Love you. Bye,’ I had stated. It had been all they wanted, leaving me alone in the apartment once they left. That night I had cried myself to sleep, clutching the framed picture of the doodle Steve had sent me.
After the discussion took place, I stayed busy watching dogs, the furry companions bringing me comfort. Too bad Steve couldn’t bring me comfort by being here with me. I could write to him, but it wouldn’t be the same as letting him hold me as the pain drifted away. I got to enjoy the company of Jamie and Sherlock, my favorite of the regular clients I had. Don’t get me wrong. I loved all dogs, but something about the goldens made me happier and comforted in a way that no other dog could.
You’re probably wondering about my friends and if I hung out with them. The answer is, I did, at a special event at the hospital where Jana worked. I wore a long silver dress with skinny straps and silver heels to match. I thought it’d be a great night until Jana had tried to set me up with someone. I say tried because it didn’t go well. She brought him over and he immediately struck me as someone who was only interested in sex and himself.
In the brief conversation we had, he had told me his name – David Clayton – and quickly dismissed the idea of reading, claiming it was a waste of time and ‘who would want to spend their time reading when they could fuck?’ Yeah, those exact words. He proceeded to hit on me after that lovely sentence and grabbed my ass thinking he was charming me into sleeping with him that night.
My reaction? Removing his hand and stomping on his foot, slapping him across the face, to which he called me ‘bitch’ causing me to walk away.
“Keira! What the hell? I thought you two might hit it off. If it’s about the reading-,” Jana shouted at me. I didn’t expect her to be mad about it, which only made me furious.
“No, I can deal with someone who doesn’t read or doesn’t like reading but he’s dismissed it altogether. He doesn’t think anyone should read saying it’s a waste of time. By the way he’s only interested in having sex. If he wasn’t then he would have hit on me straight away or grabbed my ass. Jana, you have poor taste in men when it comes to setting me up with someone. I don’t need or want your help. I’m going home,” I snapped.
Turning on my heel, I strode out to the lobby, grabbed my thick red trench coat I always wore during the colder November days and walked into the chilly New York night air. Normally, I would’ve taken a cab back to my apartment, but I wanted to walk, not caring if my feet bled from the heels. I needed to breathe; my heart hurt, and I wanted someone to hold me and make the excruciating pain go away. Not just anyone. I wanted Steve. I wasn’t aware he happened to be at the same hospital in an undercover mission or that a friend of his would investigate me.
Now on this present day, I had no dogs to take care of due to the oncoming storm in a few hours. To prepare, I decided to head to the local grocery store to get supplies; bread, peanut butter, batteries, two flashlights, water, matches, candles, and a couple of lighters in case the power went out. I even decided to pick up several bags of chips as snack if I wanted one. The store was packed, and I patiently waited while checking out, eagerly waiting to get back home to start reading.
Thanks to Steve, I had picked up a copy of The Haunting of Hill House and the storm provided the perfect day to devour it.
“Can you believe this weather has people all in a frenzy?” A voice asked me. I turned to find a woman behind me with long, auburn red hair and green eyes.
“Yeah, though I’d think they’d be a little more relaxed. Especially after what happened with that alien attack a couple of years ago. Still, it doesn’t surprise me. Back in my hometown, people went crazy whether it stormed bad or snowed,” I answered.
“You’re not from New York?” She asked.
“No. I’ve been here for two years. I’m from North Carolina. You know what I don’t understand?”
           “What’s that?”
“Why people buy bread and milk? I mean, sure bread is fine if you want sandwiches. But milk? What are they going to do with it besides drink it? Are people going to make soppy milk bread sandwiches?” This got her laughing and she shrugged, a section of hair falling on her shoulder.
“Maybe. I’m Natasha. You look like you’ve got the essentials. No perishables. Smart. I’d eat peanut butter sandwiches too,” She told me, gesturing to my basket.
“I try. I love storms. I like to watch the lightning in the dark. They’re sort of tranquil to me. I’m Keira by the way,”
“Nice to meet you. Tranquil? A storm?” She asked.
“I know. Ironic isn’t it? Tranquil with all that chaos? They’re beautiful, though. Even if they cause destruction,”
“You sound like a friend of mine. Look, you’re next. Be careful getting home,” She told me. I placed my basket down on the cashier’s shelf and walked up to the counter to pay once everything got rang up.
“What friend? I…oh, she’s gone,” I stated, turning back and finding that Natasha had disappeared.
“Okay then. She seems nice,” I muttered. For someone I just met, she and I appeared to get along great. We had a better conversation than my usual friends, I’ll tell you that. Grabbing my purchases, I walked back to my apartment and unloaded them; I set up candles in the living room and the bedroom, not lighting them unless I had to. I placed the peanut butter and bread next to each other and kept one flashlight in the living room and the other in my bedroom.
The case of water I kept near the fridge in case of an emergency and the matches I stuffed in the utensil drawer. I also shoved the bags of chips in the pantry for later. Satisfied with everything, I sat down to read.
At the first crack of thunder, I looked up from my book and checked the time. 5 p.m. Perfect timing. I marked my place in the book and fixed a cold cut sandwich – ham and cheese with mayonnaise and added pepperoni – before the power went out or if the power went out in this case. As I ate, carrying the sandwich with me, I opened the curtains to my windows to watch. It was dark, the ending of Daylight Savings Time, making it get darker earlier.
Lightning flashed and another crack of thunder sounded, bringing a smile to my lips. I stood at the window in the living room, enjoying the storm and chewing on my sandwich. Around the fifth lightning strike, the power flickered, and I grabbed the flashlight did it, shrouding me in darkness, the calming night beginning.
 Steve’s POV
Astonished by the time that passed by, I managed to stay busy. Missions and meetings took over my days and left me without time to write to Keira. I hoped things had cheered up for her after her birthday. I secretly hoped I had been the main cause for it with my gift and words.
Thankfully, Natasha hadn’t pestered me about her, but I feared what it might mean since she hadn’t. She could easily be conducting her own under my nose. I tried not to worry about it and focused on the tasks given to us. After all, there was the gala we had been sent to, undercover to watch a target who wanted to cause trouble.
It took place at a hospital and we dressed out best, mingling among the crowd as normal people. I found it ironic that this gala was taking place at the same hospital where Strange used to work but decided not to bring Bucky in case it opened up some wounds with what was happening. As I was mingling, a woman with short brown hair and hazel eyes approached me.
“Hello, handsome. I haven’t seen you around here before. I’m Jana Elliot. What brings you to this event?” she greeted me.
“Security,” I answered and continued surveying the crowd.
“Security, huh? Maybe we should go back to my place and you can secure my bedroom. What do you say?”
“No thanks, Ma’am. I’m very busy. I don’t have a lot of time to spare,” I commented. Jana was pretty, sure but my heart began to yearn for someone else. Keira.
           “I-,”
“Bitch!” Some guy shouted, cutting her off. I turned towards the sound but only saw the head of a guy bending down to cradle his foot, too many people blocking my view of the source of his distress.
“You’ve got to be kidding me. Excuse me,” Jana stated, and she took off across the room.
“Did you turn down someone?” Sam’s voice came over the ear comm.
“We’re not here to flirt. We’ve got to this job done. Does anybody have an eye on our target?” I ordered.
“She was cute. Steve, you really need a girlfriend, or at least-,”
“Natasha, not now. We’re not discussing my love life in the middle of the mission,”
“Fine. I believe he was the one shouting. Some woman crushed his foot and slapped him. Serves him right. He grabbed her ass,” Nat stated. Oh great. Another asshole, I thought.
“Keep your eyes on him. Nab him if you get a chance,” I ordered. About an hour later, we had him cornered and arrested for trying to run a scheme for an organization that was once close to HYDRA. He wanted to get it started again and we put an end to it before he could even try. Back on the jet, I got questioned more about my social life.
“Seriously, when are you going to date? You need someone to love again,” Nat stated.
“I’m not ready for a relationship,”
“Bullshit. I know you’re ready when you look at the couples around you. You even look at Wanda and me with a longing to be with someone. You’ve got to put yourself out there. What about the new acquaintance of yours?” Nat stated, leaning over to whisper the last part. So, she didn’t want anyone to know it either, I thought. I shrugged and withdrew from the conversation. A common thing I did when I wanted the discussion to end.
At the present time, we were getting prepared for the storm rolling in. Naturally, everyone thought it was Thor’s doing but he laid no claim to it.
“Are you sure? Maybe you’re still angry at me for pulling that prank,” Loki stated, grabbing his book and plopping down on one of the couches in the lounge.
“I’m sure. It’s a normal storm. I have nothing to do with it. Steve, where’s Natasha?” Thor answered, turning his attention on me.
“She went out to grab a few things before the storm hits,” I commented. She had been gone a half hour, coming back with nothing in hand, confusing me.
“I thought you needed some supplies,” I stated, gesturing to her empty hands.
“I have everything I need here. I did meet someone interesting at the store though. You’re in trouble Steve. She’s lovely,” She told me, her lips twisting in a knowing smile. I frowned and pulled her aside into another room, so no one could hear us.
“Natasha, you didn’t do what I think you did? Please tell me, you’re not investigating Keira?”
“Don’t worry. I’m only seeing what she’s like. Maybe see if she’s got any dark secrets,”
“No, don’t do that. I don’t need to do this. If you’re trying to deter me from writing to her, please stop. Stop this now, Natasha,” I snapped at her.
“Steve, really? You don’t want to find out more about her before you meet her. I’m not trying to deter you. I’m just making sure she’s someone you really-,”
“I should be able to decide that for myself. I don’t need you investigating her because she’s some threat. She’s not. I don’t get that from her. Stop investigating,” I argued. She looked shocked at my tone and I walked past her to my room. I was angry she had decided to dig around in Keira’s life. I should’ve known she’d do it ever since she had discovered my secret pen pal. I wanted to be the one who got to know her on my own, in my own time.
Around 5, the first crack of thunder sounded, and I clambered off my bed to draw back the curtains to watch, despite the lights still on in my room. It was only a matter of time before the power went out and I patiently waited when it did. The seventh flash shut things off and I grabbed a flashlight, exiting my room to grab a bottle of water and fixed a peanut butter sandwich to eat, returning to the silence of my room.
I sat watching the storm, a calmness sweeping over me. I hoped Keira was watching with me, wherever she was. Finishing my sandwich, I moved to the windowsill, watching the rain patter against the glass, illuminated by the lightning when it flashed. I sighed, wrapping my arms over my knees, thinking about her. What was she doing while watching the storm? Or if she wasn’t watching, what was she doing instead? Could she be wrapped up in blankets reading?
All these thoughts were enough to motivate me to pen a letter to her. I climbed off and went downstairs to find candles and matches. While rummaging around in the drawers, I heard someone approach me.
“Steve. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to pry, but you’ve been keeping this girl a secret for a while. I didn’t know what else to do. Maybe you thought by keeping her secret, we wouldn’t look into her. She could’ve have been someone who writes to you to get to us. I needed to find out. Turns out she’s harmless and I like her,” Nat’s voice told me.
“It’s fine. I still wish you hadn’t staged a run-in with her though. Before I’ve had a chance to meet her. I don’t believe Keira’s a threat. I just…I don’t know. I feel different every time I get a letter from her. Seeing her words on paper, it brings me joy. I…”
“My god. You’re starting to fall for her. After only a few letters. Will you ever ask Keira to meet you? If so, when?”
“I want to. You don’t know how much I want to. I’m not sure when would be best to meet her. Maybe after the holidays. Start a new year with her. Maybe fate will bring us together earlier. I’m honestly not sure. It scares me. I’m worried that she’ll treat me different when she finds out I’m Captain America,”
“You’ll have to trust that she won’t. She’s writing to Steve Rogers, not Captain America. She’ll see past the hero and see you because you’re being yourself. I’m sure everything will work out the way it’s supposed to,” Natasha reassured me, giving me a hug.
“Is she…when you saw her…was she…?” I said, stumbling for words. I wanted to know if she was truly beautiful, if she had the same beauty I imagined, despite my heart telling me so.
“She’s lovely. Funny and sweet. At least, that’s what I got from our short conversation. I think you’re in trouble with this girl. You’re in danger of falling in love with her. Especially once you’ve met,” I nodded and retreated to my room to write my next letter.
  Keira’s POV
As I watched the storm, I wondered if Steve was somewhere watching as well. I had lit up the candles and started reading as well. The book was creepy indeed, sending chills down my spine. It drew you in and I finished it with a shaky sigh, dreading to go to sleep.
The storm had a way of keeping me invested in watching it for hours, forcing me to stay wide awake until it ended. Since I was already up and alert, I decided to pen the next letter, throwing in details of the last few days, wincing when I knew I was sending him more rants. I kept them in, wanting to get it off my chest. I asked about the storm in case he had been watching it with me, two souls connected in a magical way.
Being silly, I took a few Polaroids of myself and slid them in the envelope, only to pull them back out. Should I let him see me now? Should I send him these? I thought. Deciding against it, I shoved the pictures away before taking a picture of the framed doodle on my desk, telling him I kept it there, drawing inspiration from it. I placed the letter on my nightstand planning on sending it out in the morning and went to sleep dreaming of us sitting together watching a magnificent storm.
   Three Days Later
Nothing exciting happened after the storm, work returning back to normal as I had picked up another dog for a few days. A German Shepherd named Frank, who liked going for walks and playing ball in Central Park. I wrote up the review for Hill House and waited for the day I’d get a letter from Steve.
Today happened to be the day when I opened my mailbox and saw his letter sitting on top. Running upstairs, I sprinted into my apartment and stretched out on my couch to begin reading.
              Keira,
How have you been? I wonder if you’ve been as busy as I have. More meetings and events have kept me from taking a break. I even attended a gala as part of work and got approached by some girl who attempted to flirt with me. You know what’s interesting? The whole time I thought about you. My friends teased me about it for the rest of the night when they saw me turn her down. They’ve been pestering me about my love life lately, wanting me to start dating again. They’ve even gone so far as to trying to set me up on dates, which I’ve refused to go on.
I need a deeper connection with people to date them. This connection with you, though we’ve only been communicating through letters, makes me feel things and the more I write to you the more connected I seem to be getting to you. I haven’t felt this way about anyone in a long time. Not until these letters from you came.
You too huh? Something we can both relate to, I thought. I smiled at the confession a feeling connected to me. Truth be told, I felt connected to him even if we hadn’t met.
You’ve been occupying my mind and I can’t seem to stop thinking about you. I have an image in my head of what you look like and I think you’re absolutely beautiful. I know you’ll be perfect when we meet for the first time. I’m sorry to hear you spent your birthday alone. I hope you got some joy out if though. Even if you did dance around and drink wine. I hope I brought you some as well. I’m pleased you love your gift. I wasn’t sure if you would. People are picky about what they like. I should know, my friends can be like that sometimes.
To your request of my favorite colors for a blanket, I like blue, like the sky and green. If you can find a shade that matches the color of your eyes, then that’s what I’d love. If you need an additional color, you’re welcome to include a crimson if you’d like.
In other matters, did you watch the storm tonight? Maybe we were watching it together. It was quite calming. Tranquil, almost. I wanted you beside me in my arms. Keira, I think…I believe I’m…
I sat up reading the next line, my heart hammering in my chest. Could he be developing feelings for me? Like I was for him?
I find I’m having difficulty writing the next sentence. Please forgive me if it crosses a line. Here goes. I believe I’m starting to fall for you. I’m aware we haven’t been corresponding for very long, but I don’t know how else to describe how I’m feeling. Every time I receive a letter, I can’t help but smile and be excited by what you’ve written. I’d love to meet you sometime. Maybe after the holidays, if that’s alright with you? Perhaps fate might bring us together before then.
Again, sorry if it crosses a line. I just needed to tell you before it’s too late. You don’t have to answer yet or at all if you don’t want to.
Here’s a list of some of my favorites to bring this off the subject if I’ve made it awkward or weird.
“You’re not crossing any lines. You’d be surprised about I how I feel about you,” I stated, dropping one hand to scratch the ears of Frank.
Movie – Currently, it’s The Goonies. It’s funny and full of adventure. A great watch.
Music – Anything soft, laid back. Classical. You said you love Country. Tell me some I should be listening to.
Book: The Shining by Stephen King. It messed with my head a little more than I’d like. Very spooky. Very psychological.
I already gave you my favorite colors earlier. I don’t have any musicals I love either. I plan on watching Rent and any others you think I might be interested in.
Season: Winter. I love snow and sitting by the fire with a book or movie. Maybe cuddling with you. There I go again. Sorry.
Ideal date? Dinner and a movie. Old-fashioned, but it’s still romantic to me. Second idea? Coney Island, maybe.
Ideal day? Like yours. Rainy day. Sleeping in. Buried in blankets, a book. Someone to cuddle with. Someone to kiss.
Hoping you’ll write to me after my confession. Patiently waiting for you,
Steve
I smiled, my lips stretching as far as they could. More tears of joy filled my eyes. I thought about crafting another letter but waited. He didn’t need to get two letters at nearly the same time. Plus, I needed time to think about his request of meeting.
If we did, then maybe after the holidays would be best. It’d give us a start of a new year, new beginnings. But what happens if we met and didn’t like each other? It could happen…
No, don’t do that to yourself. You already like each other on paper. You’re being yourself. I’m sure he is too, I thought. Besides, we could get to know each other more after we met.
Still, I chose to wait until the next week to write to him with my answer. Instead, I went out and picked up the colors of yarn to begin creating his gift, his blanket. A perfect gift for Christmas.
  Steve’s POV
Not risking anyone else finding out about the letters, I waited by the mailbox close to the time it’d be delivered each day. I was sure she had sent one the same time I had. The only difference being it wouldn’t contain her answer to my request. A good thing if she needed time think things over.
Today, I stood by the mailbox, pacing until the truck arrived, the mailman stuffing the box full of letters or bills and driving off. I grabbed the medium stack, going through each piece until I found the one, I was looking for.
I threw the other pieces of mail on the kitchen counter and found somewhere quiet to read Keira’s new letter.
              Steve,
I have a lot to tell you. I debated on whether or not to say anything for fear that you only read complaints or rants, but I don’t know who else to turn to.
First, my parents visited me, and we were having a good time until they pressured me into dating. Sometimes, I get too busy to go out and most of the people I’ve met are jerks. Dad thinks my job doesn’t take up a lot of time, but he’d be surprised. After they left, I cried myself to sleep holding onto your doodle.
Oh, the Polaroid shows you where I keep it. I framed it and it stays on my desk to help me draw inspiration.
To make matters worse, I attended a gala at the hospital where my friend Jana works. She tried to set me up with a guy named David Clayton. He dismissed the whole idea of reading, hit on me and proceeded to grab my ass.
My reaction, maybe an overreaction. I stomped on his foot and slapped him. He called me a bitch before I walked away. Jana got mad and I left, going home after a long walk. My heart hurt so much, I needed to take a walk to breathe.
A tingle went down my spine as I realized we were at the same gala at the same time. We were only a few feet apart and I didn’t see her because people were blocking my view. I didn’t see her the whole night, too busy surveying the crowd to notice her arrival. Natasha had seen her when she slapped our target Her friend has poor taste, I thought. A chill went down my spine as I knew who had flirted with me at the gala. Another thought occurred to me. I wouldn’t be able to write to her about it because I’d have to explain what I was doing there. She’d know I’m Captain America. I wasn’t planning on keeping it from her forever, but I still didn’t want her to know yet.
On a happier note, I met someone today who I had a great but short conversation with. Her name is Natasha. Thought I get the sense she might be a ghost. I turned away for a minute and turned back to find her gone. I could see myself being friends with her. She made me feel comfortable unlike my other friends. I met her at the grocery store before the storm. Isn’t it great? The storm? I hope you’re watching it with me. I know you’re a fan of them too.
Keira likes Nat. I’ll have to tell her she made a good impression despite her plan to investigate Keira. I made no mention of it in my letter, afraid of driving her away. Leave the explanation until we meet. I smiled; glad we had been watching the storm. I felt connected to her by some great force I couldn’t see.
I finished Haunting of Hill House tonight. You were right. It’s super creepy. It made me want to check all the doors in case they opened on their own. Poor Eleanor. Everyone was so cruel to her towards the end, only feigning being nice when they feared she’d do something crazy. The ending though, shocked me. Wonderful recommendation. Allow me to tell you one of mine. You might like the Dresden Files. It has a wizard and magic and all sorts of supernatural creatures. Tell me what you’re doing the next time you write, while you write. Tell me more about you friends. Who’s your oldest friend? Tell me your fears. Pull me deeper into your world.
Tell me a story so warm, I can feel your arms around me. So, I can see it vividly in my mind. I’ll write to you on Thanksgiving. Don’t be alarmed by the address from North Carolina. I’ll be at my parents’ house.
Waiting for you,
Keira
I released a deep sigh when I finished reading, my fingers brushing over the words again. I held the Polaroid in my free hand, a small smile tugging my lips. She drew inspiration from the drawing, and it made my heart grow fonder for her. I needed to meet her, to kiss her. Natasha was right. I was in danger of falling for her once I met her.

Hello Family
Fandom: Shall We Date? Love Tangle Summary: Set after both Yangzi and Lumiere’s Hello Baby stories, this story explores the dynamic of their shared families.
The ice rink where he usually coached at was only a short bus trip from home.  In fact when they bought the house, that had been a major selling point for him (that and the only place that served decent larb ped was only a block away).
As they say, location, location, location.
And within twenty minutes they were located right at home at the front door, one of many in a block of brick rowhouses in one of Kaleido's better neighborhoods.  Their door was always the most special one, though, because it was theirs in both heart and deed.  He would never smile while fumbling with the keys to get in, but it always thawed his heart a bit knowing that any second they were going to cross the threshold and finally be home once more.
But someone didn't seem too enthused.
"Dad, do I have to do homework right now?" his cute yet stoic daughter protested as they went inside, referring back to one of their conversations on the bus after skating practice.  "I'm too tired."
How did seven-year-olds even get tired? he wondered as he sighed and took off their coats after closing the door, vaguely responding in turn, "Michelle, you know the rules..."
(The rules tended to be that Dad was a pushover when it came to allowing some rest between activities while Mom was the one who wanted everything to be finished for the day before anyone rested, and so he placed his hand on his daughter's head as a brief sign of apology.)
They heard a voice from a room or two away, likely signaled by the closing of the door and Michelle's spoken words, saying: "Yangzi?  Michelle?  Is that you?"
Indeed it was them.  Yangzi haphazardly kicked off his shoes while placing his daughter's neatly where they were supposed to be.
"Yeah, honey, we're home."
There was silence for one second, two seconds, three seconds, four--
"MICHELLE!"  It was another voice this time, one that caused Yangzi a headache at least once a day, barely accompanied by a blur as she whizzed past and grabbed on to his daughter, stealing her away into the night (or, you know, the play room).
Again, Yangzi sighed and said to pretty much nothing at that point as he collapsed on the entryway bench, "Hi Titania, how was your day?"  Of course, Titania was long gone.  She rarely sat still at that age, although the same could be said of Michelle when she was the ripe old age of five as well.
"Did she just...?" asked Lumiere apologetically as he came into the foyer with Julia.
Almost simultaneously, Julia rushed up to him with a hug.
"Welcome home, Yangzi."
Then Lumiere laughed, and he had been in the process of getting out a word of welcome when the authoritative voice of his princess overshadowed all:
"KING DADDY, THE COURT NEEDS YOU!"
"Ah!  Alas, Yangzi, I must--"
"DAAAADDDYYYYYYY!!"
"Fine, fine..."
Julia laughed while Yangzi shook his head.
"Anyway, I'll let you get settled in, but as soon as you're able, can you help me with dinner?"
It was a simple enough task, so he nodded, appreciating the time alone.  After all, tonight was a special night...the Vegasus Nationals.
The texts were already coming in from colleagues he had met during his time as a professional figure skater as well as texts from fellow coaches within his network, wanting to know his thoughts about sportscaster analysis, the judges, who was going to blow it out of the water this year...  It was well appreciated, even though he represented and supported Kaleido's talent now as a coach.  Analyzing the Vegasus Nationals was top on his to-do list that night because the Internationals, which a client of his would be participating in, was closing in each minute that passed.
He took a moment to answer some of the texts and emails, and to spread some thoughts on a popular social media network, where his account had thousands of followers as fans and members of the industry.  The big event was trending, even.  Figure skating wasn't the most popular sport in the world, so he took pride in its popularity when it came.  Briefly he wondered even if there was some form of media out there that incurred an increased interest in ice skating.
Already in game mode, he brought out his tablet and turned on the living room television to the sports channel covering the event.  With a stylus, he was in the middle of jotting down the names of key players when he was interrupted with
"...I thought you said you were going to help me with dinner."
Yangzi blinked.  Of course, yeah, dinner, but he had just...  Then Julia's eyebrows arched, her mouth tightened, and at once he knew That Look.  If he didn't get up to the kitchen right then there would be hell to pay.
"Yeah, yeah..."
As he followed Julia into the kitchen, he figured that by the time they were finished the actual performances were due to start, and he could always do prep-work for a formal analysis for his clients and social media fans later while he gathered his thoughts.  The ones he would give live would be quick and fleeting, 140 characters or less.  After all, watching and analysing the main event was going to be key tonight if he expected to--
"So, the rice paper rolls are right there on the counter if you wanted to get started...  I brought out everything I think you would want, so I'm sorry if I missed something," Julia interrupted his thoughts with a quick flourish of her hand.  Next to the spring roll station she begun work on a chicken and mushroom concoction with a red wine reduction that was starting to smell familiar.
"Hey, we had that before, right?  When Lumiere, uh..." Yangzi laughed, "when Lumiere decided to make it."
Her giggle was small as her focus was large when she prepped the chicken, "Yeah, and you and the kids secretly ordered take-out."
It was his turn to laugh then.
"Oh, you knew about that?"
"How couldn't I?  I smelled it, and I was so jealous!"
They both laughed as it was for the best that Lumiere was off entertaining the girls.
"Well, sorry, you seemed to be okay with eating it, otherwise I would have..."
For a second she put her hand on his before removing it to work on the mushrooms next, and then admitted, "I knew you guys weren't going to eat it, and I didn't want to waste all the time he spent making it..."
With a smirk, Yangzi declared, "Well that was in the past, and we're gonna make this coq au vin even better this time."
"Coq au vin...with spring rolls!"
He snorted.  "Yeah, with spring rolls."
For a moment he supposed it was probably touching that Julia tried so hard to integrate varying national foods of comfort into their lives, but honestly even if they ate store-bought mac and cheese every day, that would have been all right with him (...as long as Lumiere didn't cook it).
"Hey, Yangzi," she said after about a minute of silence, "there's something I want to talk to you about."
At once he gulped.  He hated hearing that phrase because it always brought something uncomfortable for him to think about.  Why didn't she just go into what she wanted to talk about normally without sounding off the alarms?
"You know how this Saturday...."
It was their big getaway celebration for their tenth anniversary, that's what it was.
"Michelle's having her first sleepover with friends," Yangzi finished, knowing intuitively what the direction of her concern might be.  At least, he hoped.  Or, rather, it was his concern all along.
Julia nodded, much to his relief.
"I think she'll be all right," Julia began, "and I know we're prepared to go get her if something goes south, but I am worried about when she sees her friend's family and compares it to ours.  Or when the other girls talk about their families, and she realizes that ours is...different."
Yangzi shook his head.  "Nah, I don't think it's that big of a deal.  At that age, kids are pretty self-oriented.  They'll probably just talk about all the things that interest them."
At least, he hoped and wished that after secretly reading a parenting book or two during his commute on the bus.
"You're probably right," she said as she moved to the side to lay her head on his shoulder, "but it's just been eating away at me all week."
"Nah, nah," Yangzi dismissed as he attempted to reassure her, "don't worry about it.  I mean, think of who her father is--"
"I'm worrying."
"--And rea--"
Julia burst into laughter as Yangzi's face changed from an optimistically inspiring one to that of abject despair at her words.
He snorted again, and she laughed some more.
"Sorry, sorry," she apologized, "but seriously, I want to have a talk with her before Saturday...about family."
"Yeah, I get it," Yangzi confessed uncomfortably while slightly turning away from her.  "I mean, remember when she started school this year and asked if we were divorced of all things based on something her heckin' teacher said?"
"We just said 'no,' which seemed to reassure her, but sometimes I wonder if--"
"I think Michelle is smart enough to ask questions if she thinks she doesn't understand," interrupted Yangzi, resolutely almost, and Julia simply nodded in agreement.
When he finished with the spring rolls, he helped her bring everything to the skillet, leaving it to simmer for a while.  He had a good, what, half an hour or so until everything was done?  The Nationals were just about to actually start.  This was a prime time to sneak downstairs into the so-called 'Man Cave' to get some work done.
"Right, see you," he said quickly once his work was done, leaving Julia alone with her thoughts in the kitchen as he grabbed his tablet and headed downstairs.
As he flicked on the light, he was comforted by the soothing, warm tones of said 'Man Cave', decorated floor to ceiling with his trophies, outfit designs by Lumiere, photos of Kaleido leopards, newspaper clippings about the highlights of their careers, and, more recently, an award of Michelle's.  Yet again he sighed, more pleasantly this time as he plopped himself on the familiar couch and turned on that familiar sports network.
But he was only comfortable and able to concentrate on his work for so long before...
"WE NEED TO WATCH SAILOR GALAXY AND FRIENDS!"
Ah, Titania.
"And I'm going to do my homework, too."
He turned his head to look at the hopeful little girl carrying a textbook and paper and the enthusiastic littler girl sporting a cool tiara...and Lumiere behind them, looking entirely apologetic.
"Fine, fine," he acquiesced, realizing the theme of futile resistance that day.
At once, everyone crowded in and Michelle was the one to take charge of the remote control and switch it to her favorite channel where almost immediately a catchy theme song started to play.  Titania started dancing and Michelle bobbed her head as Lumiere settled into the couch next to Yangzi.
The girls had good timing, to say the least.
"Bravo, girls, we did it!  We completed the quest, and--"
"SHHH, DADDY, WE'RE TRYING TO WATCH."
Lumiere gave a defeated chuckle as he extended his arm on the backrest behind Yangzi, settling into the couch while acting as if numerous pounds had just been lifted from his shoulders and it was the first time all day he had grasped some rest (and while on kid-watching duty, that may have actually been closer to the truth).  He looked over to Yangzi, exhaustion and vulnerability coloring his face, and whispered, "There's no pleasing them, is there?"
Yangzi snorted in response, not envious of Lumiere's position as he grabbed his tablet and left, giving a simple "I'll be upstairs," as his parting words.
The Invasion of the Hallowed Man Cave was a common enough occurrence despite the playroom sporting a television specifically for the girls to watch Sailor Galaxy and Friends, Princess Sparklepony, and whatever other drivel they were obsessed with at the moment.  But what was the point in having a television in there if they were just going to flock to the room where someone else was watching something first?  Julia actually had a theory, come to think of it, that the television and its location was irrelevant as far as the children's needs went, and that the children were actually seeking, um, companionship? Even though they had each other? A need to share excitement and joy in their limited community as a resource in itself?  Something like....that?
He was going to have to ask Julia again about that theory.
Now, back in the living room, Yangzi settled down again with the sports network, praying he wouldn't be interrupted again.  He lounged comfortably on the couch, armed with his trusty phone and tablet as he juggled his attention between the two devices and what was happening on the television screen.  According to the schedule and his social media feed, he had missed the first performance, although it seemed to be nothing to write home about.  That was fine because he had the rest of the night to take in.
For the next half hour he was able to draft up some general thoughts to use for his formal analysis as well as quickly air off on social media thoughts about the sportscaster commentary, the pair of performances he managed to see, and how delicious dinner was starting to smell.  He even was able to respond to a few comments on his posts when, once again...
"IIIIIIIIT'S PRINCESS SPARKLEPONY TIME!"
At that point Yangzi had been in the zone and was starting to lose patience.
"Seriously?" he asked in a tone sharper than he had intended.
"UM...YEAH?"
Lumiere was right behind Titania, and Yangzi could definitely see the exhaustion practically hanging over and gripping him in a tight embrace.  It was in his mannerisms, it was in his voice as he explained, "Sorry, Yangzi, but Miss Velociraptor didn't want to watch Princess Sparklepony, and--"
"PRINCESS SPARKLEPONY TIME!" Titania interrupted and went for the remote, deftly changing the channel in a practiced motion.  If Yangzi wasn't so irritated he would be quite proud that she had mastered full use of the control while her mother still struggled to tell the difference between the volume and channel buttons.
But the fact remained that he was irritated - irritated and conceding defeat, and the theme song for Princess Sparklepony (season three, not as good as the first two) only heralded that.
"Do whatever you want, I..."
He set his tablet aside as Titania almost body-slammed on top of him - "oof!" - while Lumiere still stood in the doorway with a complicated expression.
"DADDY, WATCH PRINCESS SPARKLEPONY WITH US!"
"The more the merrier," added Yangzi dryly as he set his attention to his phone, feeling the headache coming on again as he was trying to gather context of the ongoing performance from his social media feed.
"YEAH!"
Lumiere was a bit more delicate than his daughter when it came to joining Yangzi on the couch, choosing not to body-slam but instead to carefully position himself next to him in a slight hug.  "I'm sorry," he whispered as he rest his head on Yangzi's shoulder, "I know you were doing something, but--"
"SHHH, DADDY."
What did Lumiere think he was trying to pull, talking while Princess Sparklepony was on?
Honestly, if Yangzi considered himself a pushover when it came to his daughter then Lumiere was even worse than that.  Again, he didn't envy his role in manning the girls today in the slightest, and even he could see the vitality and life they pulled from him.  It wasn't to say that children were a drain because far be it - the girls were a constant source of pride, wonder, and love - but for the first time actually he wondered if Lumiere could have used help just as Julia did cooking dinner.
He felt his phone buzz and with it came a text from Lumiere - despite him being literally right there:
>What's wrong?
What was wrong? Yangzi asked himself and aside from not being able to participate in the Vegasus Nationals as much as he wanted, not much else.
>Nothing
>Truly?
>Truly??
>I'm being serious Yangzi is there something wrong?
Yangzi looked over at Lumiere inches away from him, looking up at him with a complicated expression, and at once he felt he was missing something.
>Nothing wrong just wanted 2 watch tv
Again he looked over at Lumiere and could tell that his answer wasn't cutting it for some reason.
Fortunately he was saved by the bell - well, the dinner bell - okay, Julia saying that dinner was ready.
The moments that passed between then and finally sitting down at the table were a blur (and they always were with children).  In between trying to actually turn the television off and everyone's hands washed, there were some arguments and fruitlessly attempted negotiations, the sensation of truly becoming 'one' with the meaning of the word 'hangry', hiding in the closet for the first time, and even a brief bout of crying (we're not going to say from who).
In the end Julia gave up calling everyone to dinner and instead forcibly escorted them to their designated positions at the table.  If she felt frazzled by the exchange then there was no indication of it in her demeanor as she saw to it that everyone had a helping of what they would reasonably eat on their plates.
After all, there was a reason why Lumiere frequently joked despite Yangzi's posturing that she was actually the one in charge.
"I think," Julia began once everyone had a full plate, "that we should go around the table and each of us should describe something that makes us feel thankful."
"What a wonderful idea, Miss Fairy!" Lumiere exclaimed as he jumped aboard.  After all, he was the only one aside from Julia who hadn't yet begun eating.  "I would be honored to start.  May I?"
"Go right ahead."
As Lumiere cleared his throat and scanned the table, he said with a flourish of his hand, "I am thankful...for each and every one of you being in my life.  The past decade has brought about the most wonderful years filled with light and love.  For a time, I didn't know how I could be happier, and then you came into our lives Miss Velociraptor."
"HEY, WHAT ABOUT ME?"
"For a time I thought my happiness was complete," he continued steadily, "I didn't know how I could be happier, but then you came along, too, my darling Princess.  Now I truly feel not just happy but absolutely blessed to have each and every one of you here with me.  Thank you all."
Yangzi snorted slightly because leave it to Lumiere to turn a simple activity into a grand declaration of love, but he also couldn't help but smile a little.  He felt very similarly, after all, even if he would never express those feelings to everyone so sappily.
"You're welcome," Michelle mentioned as she was about to munch on a mushroom.  Short and simple, that was his girl.
"YEAH!  I'M HAPPY, TOO!" That was Titania, excited and full of love as the said Princess exclaimed, "I'M THANKFUL FOR MY FAMILY!"
Julia giggled and placed her hand on top of Lumiere's, "Lumiere, that was a wonderful sentiment.  Titania, sweetie, you, too!"  Then she turned her attention to Yangzi and at that moment he found something in her gaze that was more expectant than usual.
"What about you, Yangzi?  What are you thankful for?"
Of course there was plenty he was thankful for but that didn't mean he had to go confessional at dinner - or at all.
"I'm just thankful the chicken's not burned this time."
Titania unintentionally took the sting out of the withering, disappointed look that both Julia and Lumiere gave Yangzi and added her own two cents, "YEAH!  LAST TIME IT WAS BURNED!"
"And gross," Michelle chimed in, and Yangzi couldn't help but laugh because it had really been that bad.
"I didn't think it gross at all!" Lumiere tried to defend.  "I even had it every day for lunch."
Julia just put her head in her hand and admitted, "Well, you were the only one who ate it..."
"How?" Michelle laughed as she pushed some of her food around before scooping it up and eating it.
"What do you mean how?"
"All right, all right, gross chicken is in the past," Julia ruled, putting any further discussion about it in the past as well as she tried to get them back on a more pleasant topic.  "Michelle, what about you?  What are you thankful for?"
She scrunched her lips together and tapped her chin for an extended period of time before Yangzi lost patience and added, "C'mon, I had to answer so you answer, too."
"I'm thankful for..." she finally drew the words out as she spoke, "...Lumiere calling me Miss Velociraptor now.  Instead of Miss Pixie."
"...And I have so many questions about that that no one will answer me," Julie admitted flatly, giving up on this heartwarming family scenario that she had so many hopes and dreams about.
Michelle smiled and responded, "I'm clever...and so are velociraptors.  They are so much cooler than Pixies!"
"Miss Fairy, my love, it was all age-appropriate and no one had nightmares," Lumiere yet again defended even though he probably should have left it with Michelle's response.
"I DID!"
"You did not."
"You told me you dreamed you were a T-Rex...  How is that a nightmare?"
"BUT I DIDN'T GET TO EAT ANYBODY."
"Not even the guy on the toilet?" Yangzi added.
"NOOOOO!  THAT WAS GROSS!"
He laughed, but then again so did she so all was right.
"And...what about you, Miss Fairy?" Lumiere asked softly, guilty for being part of the derailment of her touching family moment.
Much like Yangzi, she snorted dryly and shook her head, "I'm thankful I get to go to work for most of the day..."
---
In the end, Yangzi never did get back to watching the Vegasus Nationals.
His social media feed was left hanging because right after dinner it was discovered that Michelle never did actually do her homework despite saying she would, so he had to take some time to make sure she was doing all right with it.  Julia helped at the end when he became frustrated with the content, and they swapped places so that he could take care of washing the dishes and tidying up the kitchen.
Then were was bath time drama when Titania only wanted her mother to help with a bath, so again Julia swapped with Lumiere while Yangzi was content in the kitchen, again trying to gather context about the performances through social media.  But it turned out that Lumiere was no help for Michelle's homework in comparison to her Dr. Mom.  About that time Yangzi was done with the kitchen and tried to help with homework, but in the end they just ended up using a search engine for basic concepts and Michelle became frustrated and decided it was time for bed.  At the time same Julia was tucking in Titania for bed, so really that was kind of a winning scenario?  If someone squinted at it and wished fervently?
At least, Yangzi declared it so and once again attempted to watch the last of the performances that night, however, both Julia and Lumiere cornered him and had other plans...
Which led to them being sweaty but satisfied in their shared bedroom.
Neither Lumiere nor Julia spoke much, keeping Yangzi in the middle as they held each others hand or stroked each others arm before moving to his chest.  They were still coming down after experiencing a great fall, and for a while he had one hand planted on each of them, even giving them both soft kisses on their bodies before his curiosity about what he missed during the Vegasus Nationals took hold of him once he had exited the zone.
He reached over Lumiere for his phone.
At once both of them protested with a disgusted sigh and a harsh "really?"  It wasn't as if this was a minor irritation once but rather something that had been building all night.
"What?"  What was the big deal?
"You've been on your phone all day!"  That was Lumiere, rising up to rest on his elbow as he somewhat hovered over Yangzi, comfortably on his back again with his cell phone while checking the comments.
"Since you got home, you've just been so distant," Julia added, rolling over to her side to face him.
He felt kind of cornered if he was honest.  "The Vegasus Nationals are today...  What the heck is the big deal?  I just want to check on how things are going!  I mean, you know this is for my work, right?"
With that, Lumiere backed down a bit because in a sense he understood, but Julia was still coming strong.
"You can look at that later," Julia said, looking him directly in his eye, "but the day of our ten year anniversary only comes once."
...Wait, what?
He looked at Lumiere, and he looked at Julia, and both of them seemed to be gazing at him with the same intensity.
"But," he protested, a bit weak against that strong gaze of Julia's, "we're celebrating our tenth anniversary of us together...this weekend.  And besides, the actual anniversary is...tomorrow."
There was a second, then another second, before Julia and Lumiere looked at each other and decided, "No, the actual day of our tenth anniverary is today, Yangzi."
And it so, totally, was not.
It was so totally not that Yangzi just laughed which disarmed them both.
"This is all because you think I've been distant on our anniversary as a triad?  When it's not actually our anniversary?"
"It is," Julia firmly maintained.  "It's on our calendar.  But I guess you wouldn't know because you won't get the same kind of phone as us..."
"Honey," and that honey referred them both, "today is not our anniversary.  Do you remember the day we decided we were all going to be together?  What event was happening in the background?"
Julia had been the one to argue, but it was Lumiere who took out his phone and added, "It was actually the Vegasus Nationals ten years ago, wasn't it?"
She nodded, remembering.  "It was the first time you weren't a part of it since you were skating for Kaleido then."
"Aaaand," Yangzi said with a shit-eating grin, "what date was that?"
Lumiere at once dropped back to the bed and outstretched his hand to Julia, who grabbed his phone to read.
"I'm so stupid," he moaned as she gasped, "but it's in our calendar as today!"
"What?"  She clutched his phone.  And there she verified that the anniversary of the Vegasus Nationals ten years ago...was tomorrow.  "How did we make this mistake?"
Yangzi shrugged.  "Maybe you two with your synced calendars made a mistake when you upgraded phones this year?  Not that I would know since I..."
"Oh shut up about your ancient phone," Lumiere pouted and kissed him deeply.
Julia followed suit with a "just shut up entirely" which made the three of them laugh and then kissed him deeply, too.
Not a bad end to a not-anniversary if he did say so himself.

Betrayal
Here is the new Jay Park story. So I guess my subconscious is salty as fuck for the lack of dates for the 2018 H1ghr tour lol. So until they give us them I will not be writing any fluff for Jay. So here is a nice painful story. Sorry if I make some people mad, but just remember Jay is a sweet precious man in real life. This is only for fun so yeah. Please enjoy and if you feel like it drop me a comment, just let me know what you think.

For years you have been by his side and this is how he repays your love. An anonymous email brings reality around you crashing to the ground.

TRAILER
Shutting your laptop slowly you couldn’t believe what you just saw. You were numb, void of any emotion as your brain really couldn’t comprehend what you saw and read. Picture after picture including a few video clips had mysteriously showed up in an email sent to your private email address. That email address wasn’t known by many people and was only used by your family and closest friend, but there was no way any of them could have gotten those pictures or videos and even if they did they would have come to you in person instead of sending an anonymous email.
Sitting there staring off into space a thousand things ran through you head, the whys and when’s and how’s. None of this made sense, you two were so happy and in love. You doted on that man and were at his beckon call, if he ever needed anything you were always there to give it to him. For years you have been by his side supporting him in his career while putting your own on the back burner many times. You were an aspiring actress waiting for your big break, for now you were just doing small plays and commercials.
Standing from your desk you walk over to the floor to ceiling window in your office, looking out at the view of downtown Seoul you suddenly felt the start of your anger prickling inside you. Who the hell did he think he was to try and play around with you. It would be one thing to play around if you were in a normal situation but you weren’t. A hand falling down to your stomach as you held your precious secret. You hadn’t told him yet, no you were waiting for just the right time to give him the news. You had hoped this would be a joyous occasion as Jay had mentioned many times how he wanted to be a dad. You two had been careful, with you on the pill and using condoms but nothing is always 100% effective.
“I won’t let him get away with this.” You whisper as you rub you belly.
Walking back over to your desk you open your laptop back up reading the email again. A cell phone number was listed for you to text if you had any questions. The thought of having the number tracked crossed your mind but left just as quickly, more than likely the phone would end up being a burner and taking the time to track them down would be pointless. Grabbing your phone you call Jay and get his voicemail after two rings. Opening up your text messages you send him one asking where he is and he replies back quickly that he is in the studio working. You roll your eyes and text the person from the email asking if they know where he is right now. After a few moments, you receive a text saying they do, a picture of him at a club was included with the message. You knew they weren’t lying as Jay was wearing what he left the house in this morning. You reply back asking for more videos and pictures of him acting out of hand or if he were to get intimate with the girl. You got an instant reply back saying that they would be more than happy to but it would cost you. Smiling you respond back that money isn’t a problem.
Setting your phone down you walk out of your office and into your ensuite bath. Grabbing the remote off the wall you click a few buttons causing the chandelier from the ceiling to light up and classical music began to fill the room. Walking over to your large tub you turn the faucet filling the tub up with warm water.  Once the tub was full you stripped your clothing off and paused to look at yourself in the mirror. You were still young, only 24 years of age. You worked out every day to keep your body healthy and watched what you ate. You weren’t a health nut in anyway but you were mindful so that you wouldn’t put too much stress on your body. Your family had health concerns and you wanted to make sure you didn’t put yourself at anymore of a risk then what you were already at. Slipping into the tub you let the water warm your body as you closed your eyes, thinking of how you were going to do this. You loved that man with all your heart but you couldn’t get passed his betrayal. All the canceled plans and quick text messages, they all made sense now. The lies about why he smelt of another woman made you scoff at how you easily believed him. Even when you walked in on him talking closely with another woman in the studio you believed him when he said she was an associate of another artists. A bitter laugh bubbled up and out of your mouth.
“God I was such a damn fool.”
Once your bath water runs cold and you wash off you climb out to dry off and pull on a long shirt before walking out to the living room where the mail sat. Grabbing a recent bank statement, you open it up and look over it, grabbing a pen you began to circle all the transactions made by Jay himself using his card and the times you transferred money to his account. Thousands of dollars in a month went right into his pocket, you didn’t care because you loved him and wanted to help him any way possible. No longer will you pay for his shit! Two phone calls were going to be placed in the morning, one to the bank to cancel his card and have him removed from the account and another to your lawyer. He will know what it feels like to be a made a fool of. Turning off all the lights as you made your way to your room you knew that he wouldn’t be coming here tonight, not if he was out partying. Climbing into bed you curled into a ball under the blankets shedding a single tear for your relationship.
The next morning you awoke and the first thing you did as you had your morning cup of tea was check your email for any new information. A smile spread across your face as you glanced over the new pictures that clearly showed Jay with a girl in his lap and more of him holding her close before showing him kissing her and then walking off to what you assumed to be an empty office. A small video clip from outside the door was also attached, clicking play you could hear loud moans and a girl calling out his name over the loud bumping music from the club. Your heart felt like it was falling right into your stomach at the sounds being played from your laptop. Closing your eyes you took some calming breaths collecting yourself, you knew this was going to be hard but it had to be done.
After getting dressed you called the bank canceling his card and removing him from your account without any issues. You wondered how long it would be until you got a panicked phone call from Jay, the man was doing well for himself so you didn’t understand why he would feel upset over losing access to yours. Climbing into your Masarati, a gift from your father on your last birthday you made your way to your lawyer’s office. Instead of doing this over the phone you figured it would be best to just stop by in person so that things would get done quicker.
Arriving you park your car before walking in, the sound of your heels clicking loudly on the marble stones had caught the attention of many people. Pulling your phone out you try to distract yourself from the stairs of the people around you, no matter how old you got you could never get use to them. Your family was old money, a successful business passed down over the generations. You never wanted to have any say in the business much to your father’s displeasure, instead that was going to be passed down to your younger brother. Even with not having a part in the business your family was still well known, especially you. The daughter who decided to follow her dream but had yet to make it big. Finally the elevator arrived at the floor that housed your lawyers office, walking up to the receptionist desk you surprised the poor girl sitting behind the large counter. She stood quickly and bowed to greet you.
“Miss y/n, we weren’t expecting you. Lawyer Choi is in a meeting right now, allow me to show you to his office. Would you like anything to drink?”
“Some tea would be nice thank you.”
You were shown right into Lawyer Choi’s office where you sat on the couch and sipped on the warm tea waiting for him to come in. Looking around the room you took in all his pictures of him with clients and then the ones of the two of you over the years. You and Jungwoo grew up together, his father was best friends with yours. They had hoped the two of you would have gotten close and been the two to join the families but it wasn’t in the cards. You only ever saw him as your older protective brother. It wasn’t long before he strode into the room with an air of confidence surrounding him.
“Y/n, you should have called me and I would have canceled my meeting.”
“You don’t need to do that oppa, I know how busy you are.”
“So what brings you in today?”
Placing your tea down you took a deep breath before going into things.
“I need your help to purchase stock in AOMG or through CJ&EM. Either way I want stocks that don’t give me all the control over the company but just enough that I can make problems with them if I need to.”
“Y/n, but why would you need that? You are with Jay so I don’t really understand this.”
“Jay has chosen to betray me, I have evidence of his betrayal. I have already funded enough money into his pocket so why shouldn’t I have part of his company. I will also need a document drawn up.”
“That son of a bitch.” Jungwoo sat forward clenching his hands into fists and slamming them down on the arm of the couch. “What document do you need.”
“I need one that will state that he will not try to claim paternity to my child and will not interfere.”
“Child? Are you pregnant?”
“Yes, 10 weeks.”
“He doesn’t know does he?”
“Not yet, I was waiting to tell him.”
“I don’t like the man but he does have a right to a child he helped create.”
“I know but he doesn’t deserve this.”
“He might not, but y/n this isn’t right.”
“Can you just draw up the papers oppa, I won’t use them right away but I want them drawn up anyways.”
“Fine but I will hold onto them.”
“Thank you, how hard will it be to get the shares?”
“It shouldn’t be too hard, I can look around and buy some shares from other people.”
“Can you have them done by tonight?”
“I can try, but I will have them ready by tomorrow for sure.”
“Thank you oppa.”
“When are you going to tell your parents about this?”
“Soon.”
“If you need anything just call me ok?”
“I will. I need to get going, I am sure you are busy.”
Standing from the couch you were pulled into a hug and took comfort from the one man who you knew you could always count on.
Climbing back into your car you make your way over to the AOMG office. You weren’t going to confront Jay on his betrayal just yet, no you were going to keep playing the role of a loving girlfriend. Pulling up to the office you easily found a parking spot as it was pretty early in the day for anyone to be here. Walking in you ran into a few of the artists, Hoody was just walking out of the bathroom and spotted you.
“Y/n what are you doing here so early?”
“I just thought I would stop in with Jay, I didn’t see him last night and wanted to check on him.”
“Oh yeah, he was here when I left last night. I won’t keep you, I am sure he is probably in his office nursing that hangover.”
Hoody smiled as she walked off, she was always one of your favorites. The two of you often had a girls night at your place or hers just watching cheese movies or giving each other facials. You knocked on Jay’s door before walking in and sure enough there he was laying on his couch with his arm thrown over his face blocking out the light.
“Kiseok, please tell me you have something to get rid of this.”
“Not feeling good?”
Jay shot up to a sitting position quickly grabbing his head and wincing from the fast movement.
“Y/n what are you doing here?” He stuttered out.
“I just felt like I should check in on you since you were working so late last night. Do you need me to run and grab you something?”
“You don’t need to, I am sure we have something around here. Come here baby.”
Jay held his arms out and you walked over and fell into his lap. Letting your head rest on his shoulder as his arms encased you in his embrace. How many times have you done this over the years. This use to chase away all the trouble in your mind but now all it brought was heartache. Did he hold the others like this too?
“What’s wrong baby, you aren’t normally this quiet. Are you mad because I was working late last night? I am sorry, I didn’t want to wake you last night.”
“I’m not mad, I get that you had to work. I guess I just feel a little off today.”
“Is it that time of the month already? Do you need me to get you some chocolate or anything?”
You smiled and shook your head, you couldn’t understand how he could be this nice to you but then turn around and cheat on you.
“If you need anything you know you can call me. Why don’t you go home and crawl back into bed, I will bring you something good to eat tonight. Just go home and relax.”
“Jay you know I love you right?”
“Of course I do baby, me too.”
Pulling back you let a small smile cross your face before standing up. You never could understand how people can answer that way, by saying me too doesn’t that just mean they love themselves? Otherwise why not just say I love you too, it was a stupid response.
“Y/n, are you sure you are ok?”
“Yeah, I’m going to head out.”
Jay looked up at you from his spot on the couch with a quizzical look on his face but nodded his head. Getting to the door you were just about to open it when Kiseok suddenly opened it shocking you so much you jumped back and almost tipped over. Kiseok quickly dropped what he was holding to grab you and keep you from falling over, your hands went instantly to your stomach.
“Hey now, you ok y/n? I didn’t mean to surprise you like that.”
“No it’s fine.”
“You sure, why don’t you sit down you don’t look too good.”
Pulling out of his arms you shake your head and quietly say a goodbye before rushing out of the office. You could feel yourself starting to sweat and little nausea waves were beginning to wash over you. Quickly you rush to the bathroom making it just in time to empty what little bit of food you had in your stomach. When you knew you were done you grabbed some tissue to wipe your face before flushing the toilet. Unlocking the stall you were met with a concerned Hoody who had a bottle of water in her hands.
“Kiseok called and said to come check on you. Are you ok?”
“Yeah I am fine, probably just a stomach bug.”
“Do you want me to bring you home?”
“No I am fine.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah, I am just going to go home and rest.”
“Ok, call me if you need anything.”
When you walked into your apartment you changed into something comfortable before going into your office and opening your laptop. Another message from anonymous awaited you, this time with pictures that were a few months old from the looks of it. They were with some girl, she looked to be younger then you but attractive none the less. It was pictures of her and Jay at a club, a restaurant, out shopping. There were a few of them walking into a hotel together at night and walking out in the same clothes the next morning. A recent picture with a date on it showed the same girl walking out of a clinic holding some pamphlets. A close up inspection of the pamphlets showed they were about pregnancies. Checking the date it was a week or two after you had found out about your own pregnancy. Tears started to form in your eyes and no matter how hard you tried to hold them back they were determined to fall. The man who you loved and wanted to start a family with not only had cheated on you but possibly had gotten another woman pregnant as well. Sending a quick text to the person you asked if he knows about this and the reply was instant, no. At least he was getting his wish of becoming a dad. Closing your laptop you stand with your phone walking out of the office and made your way to your bedroom. Just as you were about to lay in bed a text from Jungwoo comes through informing you that the shares would be in your name come morning, enough to make Jay’s life hell if need be. You send him a text thanking him for his help and inquire about the document you asked for, he responded back that they are ready and will be there if need be. With the news of Jay’s other possible baby you really didn’t want him in your life anymore. Closing your eyes you quickly fall asleep.
You were awoken to someone slowly shaking you awake, opening your eyes you found a smiling Jay looking down at you.
“How are you feeling baby?”
“Fine, a little hungry but fine.”
“Here come out to the kitchen I brought you some porridge from your favorite place. Hoody told Kiseok that you were sick earlier and I figured this would be better than anything.”
Taking Jay’s hand he helped you up and out of the bed before walking slowly with you to the kitchen where he had the food waiting for you. As you ate Jay stood across from you smiling at you, how could he even smile at you knowing that he was breaking your heart.
“Listen, I want to stay and take care of you but I have a dinner meeting I need to get to. Will you be ok on your own?”
“I will be fine, I always am.”
Jay gave one last smile before turning and walking out the door, probably off to go fuck the other girl. Finishing the porridge, you clean up the mess before grabbing your laptop from the office and just going right back to your bedroom. You were still feeling kind of dizzy and only wanted to stay in bed. Opening up your work email you replied to your manager about some commercial offers before coming across one from yesterday night about a drama offer. It was a supporting role and it was what you had been waiting for this whole time. Yeah your family’s money could have bought you any role you wanted but you wanted to work for it. You quickly respond that you will take it but also inform your manager of your current situation. Not just about the impending split from Jay which would make headlines but also about your pregnancy.  You knew it was only going to be a matter of time before you would need to tell your manager so you mind as well get the earful out of the way. Closing out of the emails you went over to your social media pages checking messages from fans whom you only acquired after people found out about you and Jay. Some antis and some people supporting the two of you. You laugh at the messages from the anti’s, they will be happy to know their lovable oppa was about to be single really soon. Yet it will be bitter sweet once they find out he had gotten another girl pregnant. You weren’t sure yet if you were going to inform him of this pregnancy or let it blow up in his face.
The text message alert rang in your quiet room alerting you of a new message. Grabbing your phone you open it to find a message from anonymous with a picture of Jay with the same girl from the night before. Closing out of that message you open a new one to Jungwoo asking him to come over, he responds back telling you he is on his way.
Jungwoo doesn’t even bother ringing the bell and lets himself in. He finds you laying on your bed looking at old pictures of you and Jay on your phone.
“Don’t torture yourself with that.”
“Oppa I don’t feel too good.”
“Is it the baby? Do you need me to take you to the hospital?” He quickly says as he rushes to your bed sitting down and putting his hands on your head to check your temperature.
“I just feel a little sick and dizzy, but I need your help.”
“What do you need? Do you want me to put a hit on Jay? Just say the word, you know I know some people who will help make him disappear.”
You laugh, “No don’t do that.”
“Then what is it?” Jungwoo puts his hand on your cheek and you lean into his hand smiling, he is always there for you.
“Can you pack up all his shit?”
“Do you have some garbage bags?”
“Under the sink.”
“Done, you just lay there and relax.”
Jungwoo disappears and returns with a bag and walks over to the closet grabbing all of Jay’s clothes that he has in there before going to the drawers and grabbing what he has there. When all is said and done there are three bags full of clothes and shoes that belong to him, you thought of burning everything but decided to just return them to him.
“Do you have anything at his apartment?”
“Nothing that I need, just some clothes and shoes but he can just trash them for all I care.”
“So how are you going to go about this?”
“Can you come and pick me up tomorrow afternoon and take me over to his office? I don’t know if I will be able to drive.”
“Of course, I will clear my schedule.”
“Thank you oppa.”
“Do you want me to stay?”
“No you can go, can you keep that shit in your car? We can bring that tomorrow.”
“Of course, get some sleep and if you aren’t feeling better tomorrow then we should put this off and go see the doctor.”
Nodding your head but you know this needs to be done now. Jungwoo walks over to you and bends down to place a light kiss on your forehead before walking out with the bags. Grabbing your laptop, you hit print on some of the pictures while loading the rest of the evidence onto a flash drive. With everything set you pulled the comforter around yourself and fell back to sleep.
The next morning you wake up feeling better then you had yesterday but dreading what was to come. You shower and then eat a light breakfast before going into your closet. You were torn on what to wear, on one hand you wanted to dress as business but on the other hand you wanted Jay to see what he was going to miss out on. In the end you opted for a combination, a tight white pencil skirt and a black blouse toping it off with a pearl belt. Just as you were finishing up your makeup Jungwoo called to let you know he was waiting downstairs. Grabbing your purse you put the flash drive along with the printed pictures in it before walking out of the apartment.
Arriving at the AOMG office you told Jungwoo to wait in the car and you would call if you needed anything. The office was pretty busy for the time of day it was, everyone must be getting ready for the tour that was set to take place in a couple of months. Walking past some of the artists you knew you smiled and bowed slightly to greet them, Minsik let out a whistle as you walked by which made you laugh a little. You were really going to miss them when this all ended.
When you got to Jay’s door you took a deep breath and prepared your cold face, you were not going to show your emotions to him. He didn’t deserve to know how much he was really hurting you. You didn’t bother knocking on his door and walked right in, Jay was sitting behind his desk typing away on his computer. When he saw you he stopped what he was doing and sat back in his chair crossing his arms over his chest and looked you over with lust in his eyes.
“Damn baby, what’s the occasion that you come dressed looking all sexy like that?”
You didn’t even answer him as you went to take the seat across from his desk. Sitting down you open your purse and grab the printed pictures and throw them across his desk making them cover it. Jay looks at you with his eyebrow raised before looking down, his face instantly morphed into one of pure shock before turning into a panicked expression.
“Y/n that’s not me!”
“Don’t even try to deny that Jay, those are you there is no denying it.”
“They must be photoshopped. I wouldn’t cheat on you!”
“You can stop with all the lies Jay, I know about everything. I know about the multiple women you have been fucking on the side. I know about how all of those canceled plans and late nights in the studio were really just you out there fucking half of the city.”
“Why would I lie to you? I love you, I would never cheat on you.”
Pulling out your phone you forward the one video taken outside of where Jay was fucking one of the girls. “You can’t avoid this Jay.”
Jay’s phone dings and he picks it up playing the video, sounds of the mixed moans and name calling fill the room. He quickly ends the video and puts his hands in his hair as he throws his head back in frustration.
“You have been following me?”
“No.”
“Who is the one lying now?”
“I wasn’t following you, I was blind to everything you were doing behind my back.”
“So you want me to believe this magically dropped into your hand?”
“I don’t care what you believe to be honest, I could give two shits about it.”
Jay sits forward with his elbows on the desk and rests his face on his hands, he had one of his sexy grins that always got his way but not this time.
“So what of it? So I fucked some bitches on the side, everyone does it. The fact that I come home to you is what counts doesn’t it?”
A disdained sigh escaped your mouth at his comment.
“No Jay that is not what matters, loyalty matters.”
“Fine, then I promise to never do it again. Is there anything else you need?”
Shaking your head, “That’s not how this is going to work.”
“Then how exactly is this going to work.”
“I am leaving you, I no longer want you in my life.”
“Then do it, no one is stopping you. You didn’t need to come all the way down here to do that.”
Pain from his words almost brought tears to your eyes but you held the mask in place.
“That I could have, but I wanted to see your face when you hear about how you are about to be a father…..by two different women. Congratulations Jay.”
Jays hands that were holding up his face fell to his desk along with his jaw. The look of shock and horror was worth all of these hurtful words he was spewing at you.
“Bull shit.”
“Nope.”
“I have always been careful.”
“Nothing is 100% effective Jay.”
“Who is claiming this?”
“The blonde one you were messing with a few months ago actually found out only a couple of weeks after I found out.”
The look on his face was comical, you were waiting for his head to explode any minute.
“Your pregnant?”
“Yes, I was waiting for a good time to tell you. This isn’t exactly how I wanted to tell you.”
“Then you can’t leave, if you are pregnant then we need to get married.”
“Why the fuck would I ever marry you? A lying cheating bastard who has fathered two babies who will probably be weeks if not a month apart. No Jay I will not be marrying you.”
“You can’t keep my child from me!”
“Actually, I can and I will.”
“The hell you will! I will take you to court and take that child from you!”
“No you won’t Jay, see the thing is I have all the power. Not only will a judge not give a child to a man who is out partying all night long but you won’t want to take this to court.”
“And why not exactly?”
“Because I now own enough shares in AOMG to make your life hell. Not only that but I have enough video evidence of you fucking random women in the club to make the whole country turn against you.”
“Bull shit.”
Grabbing your phone you call Jungwoo and tell him to come in. After a few moments he walks in with the bags of Jay’s things and tosses the bags onto the ground before walking to your side. He hands you a folder that not only holds the proof of the amount of shares you own but also the document that says he will not claim this child as his. You hand over the documents to him and give him a moment to read everything over.
“Sign that document and I will make sure my copies of the videos never see the light of day and I will not interfere in your work. Refuse to sign and I will make sure that every news outlet has the videos and pictures of your sexcapades along with the pictures of baby mama walking out of the clinic with her pregnancy info. The choice is yours Jay.”
Jay sits there looking over the documents and the pictures on his desk, before he looks up at you with tears in his eyes.
“Please y/n, don’t do this. We can be a family, I deserve to know my child.”
“You could have, but Jay you made this choice. I didn’t force you to stick your dick in some other bitch’s vagina! I didn’t force you to cheat and lie.”
Jay wipes away his tears before he glares at you, “This is bullshit, your just another cunt like the rest of them.”
Jungwoo steps forward but you place your hand on his stopping him.
“Did you even love me Jay, did those years mean nothing to you? All of the memories we have, were they that easy to push aside to just get your dick wet?”
“You were just a convenience, you had the extra cash if I needed it. You came from good money and had a good name. Being with you only helped my image here. If you had only continued to play dumb going around trying to be an actress we could have continued and eventually gotten married. But I guess now it doesn’t even matter.” Grabbing a pen he signs his name, “You think my life will be the only one tarnished. Yours will be down the drain as well, you know damn well that this society frowns upon single mothers! Daddy’s money won’t be able to save you this time.”
Jungwoo grabbed the documents from Jay as soon as he closed them. Jay sneered up at him.
“Aren’t you just over the moon with this turn of events, now you can finally get what you have always wanted.”
“I don’t know what you are talking about Jay.”
“Cut the shit Jungwoo, I have seen the little looks you give her when she isn’t looking. I know you want her. Now you can have her and that bastard baby.”
You stand from the chair and reach across to slap Jay across the face, “Fuck you Jay Park!” you spit in his face for good measure before walking out of his office with Jungwoo following you. You hold in the tears as you walk by the surprised members of AOMG, clearly that had heard everything. Only when you get into the safety of Jungwoo’s car that you allow the sobs to take over your body. Jungwoo reaches over and pulls you into a hug trying to comfort you as best as possible.
“Take me home oppa.”
You were ready to be done with Jay Park and didn’t want to be near him anymore. Jungwoo started the car and began driving off as you watched in the mirror as the AOMG office grew smaller and smaller the further you got from it.
“Good bye Jay.” You whisper so quietly that only you would have heard it.

A New Virus Chapter 31
What A Shame
Dark sat in his office, making a face of discomfort as the bandages rubbed against his shirt. They were practically healed at this point, but Anti insisted that he keeps them wrapped up for another few days since the overcharge had happened on Friday and it was only Monday morning. He was tempted to remove them anyways since Anti had been...himself. Anti had said there was to be no sex until Dark was healed and even taped a piece of paper on his back that read:
Do Not Enter
Dark had a plan to show Anti that he was just fine tonight, he was going to call Wilford after he finished this client’s personal contract and have his friend take Annalise to the Iplier Manor for the night. Dark stopped his writing at that thought. Maybe he’ll call Chase and have Annalise go to the Septiceye House instead. Dark’s thoughts were interrupted by a ringing.
“Hello?” Dark said into his phone after answering it.
“Hi, Mr. Powell...Mr. Iplier...Darkiplier...what do I call you?” Keith asked, sounding a little winded.
“Dark will do.” Dark stated, setting his pen down. “Is there something wrong?”
“Yeah. I just got out of school early because literally half of the student body is missin’.”
“What!?” Dark quickly grabbed his laptop and did a quick search. “The average high school holds seven hundred and fifty-two people…” He read out loud and did some mental math. “That’s three hundred and seventy-six people!”
“They made a big spiel at the school about goin’ straight home and stayin’ safe cause they all went missin’ on Friday.” Keith let out a chuckle. “I don’t think they were supposed to say that last part.”
“Annalise!” Dark called out.
“What!?” Analise called back.
“Keith, are you heading home?” Dark asked into the phone.
“You making me get up.” Annalise groaned loudly.
“Nope.” Keith popped his ‘p’.
“Where are you heading?” Dark let out a sigh when he heard the doorbell ring.
“I’ll give you a guess.” Keith chuckled.
“I got it!” Annalise shouted.
“Teenagers are going to be the death of me.” Dark grumbled, hanging up his phone and began calling the others.
“Keith? Why are you here?” Annalise asked when she opened the door. “It’s not even noon.”
“School’s canceled because everyone’s missin’.” Keith stepped into the house and slipped off his backpack as he headed for the kitchen.
“Wait, what?” Annalise shook her head in shock.
“Literally half of the student body ain’t home or at school.” Keith opened the fridge and grabbed himself a juice packet.
“What happened?” Annalise asked out loud.
“I got a theory.” Keith stabbed the straw into the packet. “They went missin’ Friday, your dad did his over energy blow-up thingy Friday and y’all told me how that works so…”
“Do you really think my dad ate half the school!?” Annalise shouted.
“Well, that would explain the overcharge.” Anti muttered, rubbing sleep from his eyes.
“Dad, you’re not wearing clothes.” Annalise groaned while Keith was struggling not to look.
“It’s too hot in my room because-” Anti tilted his head back and yelled: “-someone won’t let me fix the air conditioner!”
“If you won’t let father take off his bandages, he’s not going to let you go into machines.” Annalise said and Keith was now facing away from Anti, sipping on the juice packet. Anti grabbed himself a box a cereal and stuck his hand into it.
“He’s probably calling everyone. Looks like you’ll be seeing your boyfriend today. And so will you, Keith-ster.” Anti winked and shoved a handful of dry cereal into his mouth.
“I’m not even gonna dignify that with a response.” Keith held his head up and walked out of the kitchen.
“Anti, put on some pants, the others will be over soon.” Dark stated as he passed by Keith.
“Do I have to wear pants?” Anti asked with his mouth full.
“The others are not allowed to see you bare.” Dark said. “And I can’t let them know what your boy looks like now or they’ll be very confused the next time they see you after tonight.”
“Y’all are gross!” Annalise shouted and left as well.

“Here you go, Bingy.” Annalise said, handing Bing an ice pack as she sat on the edge of the bed with Bing.
“I have no idea where this headache came from.” Bing sighed, pressing the pack to his forehead.
“My living room is currently filled with all of the egos, that would give anyone a headache.” Annalise chuckled.
“I’m glad you suggested glitching over to the Manor, it’s a lot quieter here.” Bing said, blinking slowly as he grimaced.
“Are you sure you’re going to be okay? Should I go back and get Google?” Annalise asked, rubbing Bing’s shoulder.
“No…” Bing gently pushed Annalise’s hand away. “I can’t do this.”
“It’s just a headache.” Annalise weakly laughed.
“I’m not talking about the headache.” Bing lowered the ice-pack, looking down at the ground and shaking his head.
“Well...what are you talking about?”
“I can’t do this.” Bing used a finger to point at himself and then at Annalise. “I can’t do...I can’t...us.”
“Bingy?” Annalise's voice cracked a little. “What are you saying?”
“It’s just not...It’s not working.” Bing rubbed his eye.
“What do you mean, it’s not working?”Annalise’s voice was getting a little louder. “Am I missing something? Was I doing something that I didn’t even know!?”
“I don’t know. Something just doesn’t feel right about us.” Bing sighed.
“Bing...Bing please.” Annalise was quiet again as she pleaded, placing her hand on Bing’s thigh and staring at the spot when Bing got up and moved away. “Why? Why are you doing this?”
“I don’t know.” Bing answered, rubbing his eye again.
“Tell me! Tell me, please! Tell me what I did wrong!” Annalise screamed.
“Annalise...I think you should leave.” Bing said.
“Bing.” Annalise got up and went over to Bing. “Bing, wait, please.” Annalise put her hands over her mouth to hold back a sob when Bing moved away from her. “I love you.”
“I’ll see you later.” Bing whispered. Annalise choked on her sob this time before glitching away.
“It has to be the new virus that caused-” Dark stopped his statement when Annalise glitched in front of him, crying into her hands. “Annalise?”
“He...H-He…” Annalise stuttered while Dark stood up and hugged her.
“Why ain’t Bing with you?” Keith asked when he left Annalise’s room.
“He broke up with me.” Annalise cried, holding onto Dark’s shirt as she sobbed harder.
“What a shame.” Mac muttered, rubbing his eye.

a glimpse of me & you
A city wide lunar new year festival planned by Orchid Events brings joy to all of Seoul, the heirs to some of Korea’s biggest companies included. Dealing with their own issues of and with succession within their own families, seven young men have only really had each other to share their problems with. They all had similar backgrounds; no one outside of their world would understand.
But the Year of the Rooster has other plans.

When she got home, she found her mother and father relaxing in the living room, watching some variety show on TV. Neither of them looked distressed in any way. This perplexed her.
“I’m home, what’s wrong?”
Her father looked up and smiled at her. “Welcome back! Nothing’s wrong. At least not with us.” Her mother shook her head beside him. “Did you have fun with your friends?”
Mi Sun nodded. “I did. Where’s Dong Woo?”
“Sulking in his bedroom,” her mother answered.
The lawyer dropped her stuffed animals onto a chair and laughed as she climbed the stairs to the second floor. Her brother lived at home still, but it was more out of necessity than the fact that he couldn’t fly the coop. He was a successful chef and was a few years away from inheriting the family restaurant. On top of that, their parents were getting old and he had no qualms in being the one to take care of them and the family home. Mi Sun hoped that he would find a wife - or a girlfriend at least - that would be happy with doing the same. She knocked on her brother’s door. “Dong Woo? It’s Mi Sun; mom said you need to talk to me.” No answer. “I’m coming in.” Opened the door to find her brother sprawled on the floor of his room. She narrowed her eyes. “What’s wrong with you?”
“What have I done so wrong in my life that God has given me such a terrible little sister?” he wailed, kicking his legs.
Mi Sun rolled her eyes. “What are you talking about?”
“You! Running around town, fraternizing with my nemesis!”
“Nemesis? Now you’re just being dramatic.”
Dong Woo stuck his arm out to his little sister, phone in hand. “Look at that. Look at you and that Kim Taehyung!”
“What?” Mi Sun took the device from her brother and looked at the photo on the screen. It was her and Taehyung alright, in one of the moments where he had latched onto her arm after winning her the first of many stuffed animals. He was smiling, she was smiling, albeit at the plushie, but nevertheless, it was an altogether fetching photo. Mi Sun frowned. “Who took this?”
“My friend was Olympic Plaza and saw you together. How could you?! Don’t I treat you well enough?” He draped his arm across his eyes and sighed heavily.
“Just because you don’t agree with his opinion on what a candy is or isn’t, doesn’t make him your nemesis, Dong Woo. Stop this.” Mi Sun tossed the phone back to her brother; it landed on his stomach with a thump.
He shot up and stared at her. “You KNEW why and you were still with him?”
Mi Sun was about to retort when her mother flew into the room. “With who? You were with who? Is it Mr Park?”
The lawyer massaged the bridge of her nose. “No, Mom, it’s not Mr Park. He’s my boss.”
“But he’s so good to you. And so handsome.” Dong Woo handed his phone to their mother to see the cause of his anguish. She looked at the photo and her eyes widened, excitement rising ten-fold. She grabbed her daughter’s hands. “Is it true?! Are you dating Kim Taehyung?!”
“MOM!” both kids yelled, both protesting their mother’s enthusiasm for very different reasons.
“Okay, if this is all the problem is, Dong Woo, I’m going to go. I have to work tomorrow.” She slipped her hand from her mother’s grasp and started to head back downstairs. “Bye mama.” Mi Sun collected her toys from the chair and waved at her dad, still comfortable on the couch. “Bye Dad!” He waved as she slipped out the door.

Haru and Hye Ji, Jimin’s older and younger sister, respectively, sat at the breakfast table early Monday morning, having breakfast with their mother and grandmother. The girls had come home for the new year - their husbands had to work but promised that they would  visit their in-laws before the celebration period was over. The women ate and talked, laughing as they did; the older women asked when there would be children visiting.
“Soon grandma, I promise,” Haru said, holding up crossed fingers. “What about our Jimin? Has he found himself a girlfriend yet?”
Their mother shook her head. “Not yet, but he is, at least, testing the waters.”
Grandma harumphed. “Testing the waters but catching nothing. Who’s going to make dinner for him when he takes over the business. He and his friends are all the same. None of them are getting married any time soon.”
The sisters exchanged glances. They, of course, were active on social media, and had seen the circulating pictures from the boys’ most recent outing at Olympic Park. None of the pictures were clear - all taken from great distances - but what was clear was that Korea’s most eligible bachelors were courting some lucky women. Local gossip outlets had probably already gotten their hands on the pictures, and it was only a matter of time before the ‘news’ broke and was featured in newspapers citywide.
Fortunately, his grandfather’s house was large, and thankfully Jimin was out of earshot of his grandmother’s grumbling about his lack of suitable partner. He had other things to worry about today. Sunrise was his grandfather’s real estate company that was one day going to be his real estate company. He spent a great deal of time learning the ins and outs of conducting business, and had already formed significant rapport with clients already in the books. He’d even already managed to seal the deal on a few large lease agreements. But all this was not enough for this middle son to step out of his father’s marred shadow. From his grandfather’s sharp comments, Jimin’s father was not at all real estate savvy, messing things up one too many times, before the infidelity to his mother was even an issue. He had no father figure after the age of four, and Hye Ji had no idea what her father was like at all, as he had been disowned shortly after she was born.
Jimin knew he had to go into the office today. With any luck, his grandfather would either not be in or just not in the mood to see him. The poor boy didn’t know what he could possibly do better, or differently, to make his grandfather see that he was not his father. He wasn’t going to make the same mistakes and let the family down. He rolled over in his bed and started looking through his social media on his phone. The first thing he saw was a picture of Namjoon smiling at Jae Eun. Not that anyone would know it was her - her back was to the camera. But it was very clear that he was smiling at a woman. Jimin knew that this was the beginning of a very rocky road.

Radio!K was a very relaxed environment for a place that had so much traffic. Production staff, and hosts, and assistants ran around constantly but no one seemed to get flustered by anything. Hoseok was at the station to meet a potential new signee to Gwangju Sound. His uncle had called him in the middle of the night saying that the agent for a new, indie solo artist had asked for a meeting. Since he was already in Seoul, Hoseok would conduct the meeting on his uncle’s behalf.
The artist was currently on air doing an interview with the DJ, with Hobi waiting outside the soundbooth. The teenager inside definitely looked the part of indie singer-songwriter, with his windswept hair and country-chic clothes; Hoseok was excited to meet with his first potential client. His phone pinged from inside his pocket, prompting the man to both turn his ringer off and check the message.
Namjoon!: Eyes Around Seoul found us at olympic park. There’s a picture of you leaving with miss teacher.
Namjoon!: You can’t see her face but it’s still a picture of you with a girl.
Namjoon!: Be prepared for a little chaos.
Hoseok frowned. Things were going to get a little wild for the next few days. They - the group of them - would have to make sure that the girls were okay. That no one found out who they were. After all, they were the ones that asked them to come out the day before.
He started a new message to Jin. Hobi: Eyes Around Seoul has pictures of us with the girls. Be careful.
Jin /rose emoji/: Yeah, Namjoon just let me know too. About to go into a meeting - will talk later.
And another message to Taehyung. Hobi: Eyes Around Seoul has pictures of us with the girls. Be careful.
TaeTae /tiger emoji/: What?! They don’t show their faces, do they?
Hobi: No, just their backs. But the pictures are still out there.
TaeTae /tiger emoji/: OK.
TaeTae /tiger emoji/: I will keep an eye on it too.
Hobi smiled. Taehyung often acted like he was a teenaged boy, but when it came down to the important things, he put on his metaphorical work gloves without hesitation to do whatever needed to get done. Part of it came from him being involved in his family’s company from such a young age, but most of it came from him simply being a reliable person.
When he looked back up, he could see that the interview was wrapping up, and that he would be stepping into the role of Manager Jung Hoseok for the first time. The artist exited the soundbooth and his agent corralled him towards Hobi.
“It’s great to meet you. I’m Jung Hoseok from Gwangju Sound,” he greeted with a respectful bow. “I’m looking forward to hearing about you and your work.”

Despite being given the green light to take a few days off work, Namjoon found that a lot of his friends were, in fact, working. Hoseok was meeting a recording artist, Jimin was dealing with grandfather-related business, Jin was in a meeting - he guessed that he would have to get ahold of either the young ones, or Yoongi, in the meantime. They had a lot of things to discuss - namely what to do about the slowly surfacing pictures of them with the girls.
Namjoon looked at the clock - it was only noon. Yoongi probably wasn’t even awake yet. But he didn’t get much farther than that when a text from Jeong-Guk dinged on his phone.
Jeon JK: The paper’s out. It’s not good.
The silver haired man immediately scrambled off his bed, and down the stairs, hoping to intercept the publication before it ot into his father’s hands. He was a little too late; when he got to the foyer, his dad was already scanning the front page headlines. There was no sign of alarm, so it didn’t look like he and his friends had made front page news, but they would likely be splashed all over the ‘social’ - a nice way of saying gossip - section.
“Oh! Namjoon! I didn’t see you there!” his father said, looking up at son while he opened up the paper. From where he stood on the last step, Namjoon could read the small, but still present, cheesy headline: Is Love in the Heir? He cringed inwardly - was that really the best they could come up with?
“Are you going to read all that now?” Namjoon asked.
“I was planning to, while I ate lunch. Would you like to join me?”
“Sure, Dad.”
As father and son enjoyed their noontime meal together, Namjoon was being caused some real anxiety from the slow pace of his dad’s reading, and his inevitable discovery of the gossip. His phone buzzed and he discreetly checked the message under the able.
Jeon JK: You and Jae Eun look nice together
Namjoon: Is her face in it?
Jeon JK: Nope. Just yours.
Namjoon was thankful for this - it would seem that the same pictures were being shared between Eyes Around Seoul and this third rate local newspaper. As long as the girls’ faces stayed offline, this was a situation that could easily be dealt with.
“It seems like the festival is going well,” his father commented, nodding as he read about the impressive turnout at most of the venues. He turned the page to see his son’s face smiling at someone; this was odd. Namjoon was usually very particular about not being caught so overtly on camera. “Oh? What’s this?”
“Dad… don’t freak out. She’s just a friend.”
Hyung Seok looked up with a smile. “You were out with a girl?” His hopes for his son finding a girlfriend before he died soared. “Is she nice? What is she like? When do we get to meet her?”
Namjoon’s mouth hung agape in surprise. “What?... ”
“Do you know how long we’ve been waiting for this to happen? Your mother was considering starting to send you on marriage dates like Seokjin’s been doing.” Hyung Seok poured himself a cup of coffee. “What does she do?”
Full lips spreading into a dimply smile, Namjoon shook his head, wondering why he thought his father would have had an adverse reaction at all. “She’s an event planner. One of the planners who made the festival happen, actually.”
His father laughed heartily. “How excellent! You will have a spectacular wedding.”
