Shall we date? Love Tangle, Dean's story review
Dean is a brave cop, and his story didn't look appealing at first glance, while Wylder seemed more compelling since I dig the artist-eccentric vibe they were going for in the common route. My expectations tanked, and both stories are meh at best.
Let's get straight into Dean's route because I have a lot to say.
I gave Dean's route 3 out of 5 stars because I liked some parts, and I guess I liked the possibility of what it could have been rather than the mediocre execution. Dean's survivor's guilt was not handled well, and that's my biggest issue. The author(s) addresses parts of it in the last two chapters, which totally fucks the consistency of the story. Maybe you never watched Lethal Weapon, but in that movie, you have a character named Martin Riggs (played by Mel Gibson). I won't get into the history of the character and will just address the first movie where he's introduced as a depressed cop driven by the grief and pain of losing his wife in a car accident, so he regularly puts himself and others in danger, hoping that he will die or that someone will kill him. This total disregard for his own life makes him completely fearless, turning him into a "lethal weapon." I didn't mention this just to promote a great movie, rather, Dean's story was supposed to be similar to the above-mentioned character, but they completely and utterly failed.
I understand that the writer(s) wanted to keep his history a secret in the common route, but you could tell right off the bat when watching Riggs that something was wrong with him, while with Dean, you don't get that impression since most of his statements and dialogues are fine.
When I read it for the first time I was like, this guy is super brave and passionate about his work and wants to save people at all costs, but in the last two chapters they turned it into: he does that because he doesn't value his life.
He thinks he should have died with his family in that accident and feels guilty because he stayed home.
Couldn't you introduce that a bit earlier in HIS story? Like making him reckless when he didn't need to be? Because both times when he risked his life, MC was in serious danger. He pulled Wylder out of the fire and tried to protect him, so what the fuck? Isn't that what most police officers do in real life?
Another thing that annoyed me is that the author of the story gave Dean, a man in his prime, sentences of a 70-year-old man.
The background plot is as ridiculous as ever, with so many "lucky" coincidences. When the moment comes for Dean to tell MC about his past, it's done so unnaturally that you lose interest because the story is like a written report rather than engaging storytelling, and MC is there to take notes and try to resolve shit. I must say that the elements of this story are good, but the writing goes from mediocre to bad and cringe as fuck.
Dean's speaking again like this:
The scenes that should be the best and let me down the most are the lab scene and the hospital scene.
So the whole premise of the story is MC finding some magical bullshit plant that can cure diseases, and she's researching it for the leopard's sake and for the sake of future achievements in medicine. She's warned a few times that a big pharmaceutical company is after her findings and that they will stoop at nothing. The big culmination scene is some goons coming in at her workplace to take away her research and are called "Mafia 1 and 2" I shit you not.
Julia is all defiant and shit and quickly pieces together that the p. company has to be behind it.
No shit Sherlock.
While they aren't paying attention since they came out of a cartoon, she slams the alarm and one of the goons wants to shoot her.
Dean appears in 0.5 seconds and hits the guy who held her at gunpoint. The other one grabs Julia as a hostage and shoots Dean in the abdomen. Is this what is supposed to hint to us that he's an unhinged cop wanting to die? I think not. I see him as someone wanting to protect the girl he loves because he was in the area since he mentioned he will be patrolling around her workplace. However, Dean quickly disposes of him and shoots the guy in the shoulder. He then tries to interrogate him when Mafia 1 sets off the sprinklers in some dumbass way because of the plot and escapes, while Dean collapses due to his wound and makes the death speech but it holds no emotional weight since we know he'll survive because this ain't that kind of game.
The hospital scene was where the game made me pause and return a couple of days later. So, Dean is in the hospital, Julia is by his side and so is Wylder. After guilting MC into thinking that Dean will die if he constantly risks her life for her, Wylder also attacks Dean when he wakes up.
He says that he should think about the suffering of the people who he saved, risking his life, and I'm like:
The next idiotic moment comes when Julia and Dean are alone in his hospital room. They hug and Julia tells him how worried she was for him, and he replies if it meant saving her, he would gladly give his life. I'm like: aww dude, you really care about her, huh? MC is like: no dude, I want you alive, don't throw your life away for me.
And here is the moment that I mentioned. I get what they wanted to say but the writing doesn't support it. It comes off as if she was telling him that risking his life for civilians is throwing his life away, which is ridiculous given that he's a police officer. It's not a coping mechanism, it's just their bravery and selflessness, and kindness.
Dean states that he thinks he's atoning for the death of his family by saving people, so it feels off to me? Is it just me? Nah, it's the writing. You see, Dean's deal is, and I grasped what they wanted to say only when I read it carefully the second time, not because I missed something but because they are that incapable of getting their points across - he doesn't value his life at all and doesn't hesitate to expose himself to danger, that's why he jumps in front of a knife, gun, etc. That's a whole different matter than doing your duty as a cop, and I mentioned Riggs as an example of that. The part with Wylder needs to be rewritten, where he would clearly state that although Dean saved him, he had no intention of saving himself or something.
For example, he pushed him out of the way to safety and froze there looking at the fire because he remembered his family or something similar and stood there waiting to die, and Wylder's shouts snapped him awake or whatever. Would make much more sense, especially the thing Julia said at the hospital. And this should have been introduced earlier on in the story not at the end.
I mentioned this in some of my other reviews, both lovers need to learn something from one another and work together towards a goal of some sort, in this case, Julia helping him value his life and overcome the trauma of the past, while he helps her get the needed courage to persevere through the corrupted world and pressure around her. It could have been so wholehearted.
Everything gets patched up and resolved in a matter of seconds, without proper mental and emotional healing, since Dean is like I found you MC, and my problems are gone, leaving you with what the fuck did I just read and gave money on? (Bought premium route) Apparently, on good tropes that were ruined by shitty writing with the abundance of cringe.

Jason Todd is used to violence. He’s a little less used to love.
The first time you give Jason a hickey, it’s bittersweet. For a man so used to violence and all its aftermaths, that small mark on the vulnerable reach of his throat leaves him shell shocked. He presses down at that fresh bruise and is astounded at the lack of violence. That the violently marred planes of his body can bear the evidence of affection just as well. It surprises him a little, how two such opposed things can end up looking so similar. He’ll take a thousand little bruises from you if they’re made of love.
Every morning after you, he stands in front of his bathroom mirror and catalogues the damages. Symmetrical purple blooms on each collarbone, a fading one overlapping an old bullet wound on his chest, more scattered along his pulse points. He presses careful fingers down on each one and wonders at how close your sharp teeth came to the fragile parts of him. Decides how he wouldn’t mind an imprint of your jaws if you chose to give it to him. Thinks abstractly about how he’d look decorated in ruby droplets and your grin.
Jason Todd is used to violence. He’s a little less used to love. Sometimes for him, the boundaries get a little blurry.

Ironically, I am playing Spinner's route now and I want everyone to stop existing, but Spinner is (maybe) decent? No one called my attention on LA, besides him. Also big agree on Celina's route, she was good, I just lowkey dislike how many annoying jerks we have as romantic option inside LT, it's like they thought creating Klaus again and again and again, in other games, was a good idea. [0beyme]
In LT the most salty I am at Moses vs. Ike route. It's so fucking awful, it's praising (corporate) plagiarism and employee exploitation in a way that Soviet propagandist could probably take notes of how to make it obnoxious and in your face. Yet it's the only route up to that point where MC was really shown as a researcher to this extent.
About Lost Alice... well... we need to actually treat the Spinner and the boyo from the route as separate characters. Up to the route the Spinner of Tales was only the hooded villain, the evil antagonist of every route, and we were really looking forward his route... only to see it's not him at all, but some new character.
So my frustration at Spinner's route isn't exactly about the quality of writing or the plot but rather his role in the plot earlier. Being the main villain up until his route - and a truly evil one - and then basically replaced by an amnesiac sweet boyo with split personality and the basic roommates plot... *flips table*
So much salt that it'd put the Dead Sea into shame. Where is my villain, Solmare?

Shall we date? Love Tangle, Timo’s and Paul’s route part 2
I already talked about the common route and Paul’s route in part one. This is Timo’s route in detail, with premium moments, for those who are interested.
Major spoilers below
So, you've chosen to get away from Paul's psychotic one-man act? Good for you, because you've chosen the sane option. MC ended up going with Timo, but he's confused why she followed him to his apartment when he only wanted to make her go to her place and rest. I laughed at this a lot because it's such a Timo thing to do. MC quickly says that she can't sleep and wants to help him with his research about K. leopard rehabilitation. Timo, once again manages to surprise me, by mentioning her answer has no sense, basically. He got into their argument because he wanted her to rest and says that he has no intention of getting involved in whatever was happening between her and Paul. I actually wanted to clap at this answer, because despite liking her he's staying sane and not hormone delusional. MC insists, saying that she wants his company and that she wants to talk to him. Timo is surprised by her behavior but agrees to let her into his research until she grows sleepy. I like how MC is the one insisting and making the first steps. IF you're still not convinced that Timo is a better, normal choice in this story, meet the kitten he saved and nursed to health and who's staying with him. MC gushes naturally, and is captivated by Timo's love and care for animals despite having the fucking allergies. She offers to help him look after it.
Fast forward to the day of the leopard's surgery, and it's successful. All the hopes of recovery are on the rehabilitation team which is led by Timo and MC. They start working hard together and MC's heart skips a beat when Timo says good morning instead of the no-nonsense or wasting time attitude. She has a whole internal monologue about the same old stuff like Timo being passionate about caring for animals, how he loves them blah blah. She's shocked when he hands her the key to his apartment, forgetting for a second that it's because of the kitten she promised to help him look after. MC is thrilled because he trusts her and makes a big deal out of it. Found it cute. MC gets home and goes to Timo's place to feed the kitten. She falls asleep while playing with her and Timo's like wtf are you doing? The funniest thing is that she fell asleep on the floor and Timo casually put the blanket over her (at least he didn't Kaiba that shit).
What is also funny, is Timo playing the tough guy when he's actually a big softie and MC quickly dismisses his sharp words and smiles. They bond again over work and he loans her the research materials, which she wants to return the next morning when she encounters Timo and Paul talking. To her surprise (bitch please get over yourself) they aren't speaking about her and have a civilized convo about K. leopards. Then, all of a sudden, Paul the psycho, drags Timo away to discuss something with him and shoos the MC away. I laughed so hard at this. Paul asks Timo if something happened between Julia and him to which he replies that they are a good team and that everything else is private and walks away.
The next day, Timo and Paul clash heads on a professional field. Paul wants to go with the rehabilitation plans and Timo thinks that the leopard should rest more. Paul turns to the other researchers to hear their opinion and they are like- Yeah, whatever he says because he's too stubborn to listen anyways. MC gets pissed for a reason and when Timo doesn't do shit about it, she realizes that it was like that before she came. Timo works in solitude without help and is isolated. Some time passes and the same question is asked, but Timo opposes again and snaps at Paul, walking away. The other researchers comment on his rudeness and that Paul should ignore him because he's like that. They even go as far as to say that he doesn't belong in the team since he can't work with others because he's a nut who only likes animals. Julia doesn't do shit, and I expected her to say something.
Paul ends the meeting on a neutral note, hoping to reach a resolvement in the next. He then says to Julia to see what's going on with Timo. Several days pass by and Timo is continuously monitoring the leopard's condition, barely leaving the institute. Julia begs him to take a break, but he stubbornly declines. She recalls the talk Paul had with Director and how he warned him if Timo doesn't cooperate, he would disband the team and give the responsibility to someone else. Timo knows that, but is still hesitant about doing any of the rehab steps and states that the leopard should be the most important thing to them instead of publicity and image. MC agrees to some point but thinks it's too much for Timo to handle alone, so she offers to stay with him, and he flatly refuses her. By now, MC has a pretty good idea of how Timo thinks, so she knows she can lower his guard by being equally stubborn and play on the animal sympathy card. She says she'll take the first shift and tells him to take a nap, to which he finally agrees. The next morning, he forces her to go home. MC complies, but is still very concerned about Timo. She knows he will collapse if he doesn't become a team player. She asks Josh to make Timo something to eat because she hopes he would get home at one point. Julia falls asleep on the sofa while she waits for Josh to make her sandwiches. An hour later Timo arrives. Josh calls out to him and offers him coffee and food saying that it was Julia's idea. Timo is stunned by the concern other people have for him and sees Julia asleep. He carries her to her room, muttering how she's troublesome because she worries about him instead of worrying about herself. Julia wakes up in her room and immediately thinks that Josh was the one who carried her upstairs and comes down to thank him. She thanks him and apologizes for having to carry her which he denies, revealing it was Timo. He informs her that Timo got the sandwiches and coffee and is back to work. MC confesses how she's worried about him and how she is afraid that her concern is a burden to Timo. Josh tells her some words of wisdom.
Armed with Joshua's encouragement, MC returns to the lab and doubles down on insisting to give Timo a hand, and how he should take a break. Timo gives up on convincing her to leave him alone and listens to her. During the break, he speaks about his previous workplace. Turns out he was in a similar situation, where the animal had a shattered bone and he got an order from a superior to proceed with the rehab as fast as possible. The whole team agreed and ganged up on him when he objected. So, he cracked under the pressure and did what he was told. The leopard's injury worsen until it fell into a shock. He regretted it ever since listening to the others and going against his gut feeling, because if he stood his ground, the animal wouldn't have suffered. MC tries to advise him to explain everything to their current team, as they will surely understand the reason behind his behavior, but Timo says that his words don't carry enough weight, because he already tried and failed. He says he must work to prove his claim with the results and therefore, can't back down. MC finally understands why Timo is viewed as an uncooperative person and why he acts the way he does, but she also comprehends that he cannot endure much more. MC decides to persuade him to talk to the team again saying that if he managed to convince her he will do the same with them. Timo says that he only told Julia because they share the same passion for animals and that others might not understand if he tells them the whole story. Julia uses common sense against him, by saying that one person cannot handle all the workload, and that's why they have a team in the first place. In other words, if he continued to behave the way he does, he will eventually slip up and fuck shit up. He pokes her forehead in Itachi Uchiha style and smiles, saying that she became quite cheeky with him. Julia feels the pesky butterflies in her stomach, especially when he smiles widely and states that it feels great to finally have someone who understands him. MC is KO'ed and I do not blame her. Such a nice payoff with the slow built-up. I don't need them groping and kissing, because MC finally gained Timo's trust, and breached his barrier. He still isn't aware of it, though, and will soon start experiencing emotional glitches.
The next day, Timo does what MC advised him to and starts talking to a few coworkers explaining his deal and how he and Julia are at their limit. He is finally able to share his worries with the team and they accept his reasoning. MC approaches him when he's alone and congratulates him on managing to work through the misunderstanding, but she whispers it into his ear to which he blushes again. And hey, this is maybe the only route where MC isn't straight out copying the LI's attributes. If she started acting like Timo, the romance would never happen. She is the one who has to make the first move and act flirty because Timo is dense as a log when it comes to romance and some other things. So, everyone accepts Timo's advice and several days later it bears fruit when the leopard gets up and stands on his own. Meanwhile, Timo asks her out to dinner to thank her for everything. Julia is stunned but quickly accepts. There is ofc, another weird moment when she contemplates what to wear, and what would Timo choose. She goes to borrow something from Joy and we get the trailer for the premium moment. MC goes to work to pick Timo up and finds his note in the room for sleeping/resting to wait for him a bit. When he finally returns he finds MC asleep, and he smiles, not wanting to wake her up. He says they will have dinner some other day and he covers her with a lab coat.
He lets his feelings loose and while observing her sleeping face, he gently kisses her. I would have a semi-problem with that, but Timo immediately feels bad about it, scolding himself. I think this scene would be better if he caressed her face or kissed a lock of hair for example, and be like- oh, shit why did I do that? So, I kinda don't understand/fully buy the next scene given his shyness and the way he was reprimanding himself. I guess that the writer(s) saw that they needed to speed things up since they were running out of space for proper romance development and decided to push poor Timo. The writer(s) decided to recycle the same scene from the beginning with the waking up next to each other. Only, it's vaguely explained how she ended up in the bed when she fell asleep at the desk. She pieced it up as Timo carried her to bed but then why is he by her side? "They somehow snuggled up to each other" and I'm like wut? Anyhow, the two share another "awkward" how did we end up in the same bed in each other's arms moment and I decided to go with my own conclusion, where Timo carried her to bed and decided to observe her a bit since he finds her cute and played a dangerous game "let me rest my eyes for a moment." That would explain the fade-to-black scene and how they ended up in each other's arms.
They give the report to Paul about the leopard's recovery since he was away and Timo and Paul praise each other's work. Paul stops MC afterward to talk to her about the engagement since the surgery is over and the rehabilitation is near the end. MC is self-conscious and looks at Timo who's waiting for her at the door I assume, but he has his usual, blank expression despite hearing Paul's words. MC says she's flattered but that an engagement is a big step, and she doesn't refuse him so he gives her one more week to consider. Yeah, this is what I hate. They prolong obvious choices for the sake of fake and unneeded drama. She can refuse him regardless of how Timo feels since she likes him and needs to take her feelings into consideration and not lead Paul on. Timo has an unusual reaction, which I can understand because he's having difficulties with his feelings, given that up until recently he isolated himself and avoided social activities as much as possible, so he tugs her hand and leads her away to the dolphin pool again. There is a nice line here about how animals are unburdened by the thoughts and feelings that humans have, which ultimately makes us torture ourselves and do or not do certain things. And that's all that's good about this scene. I was a bit mad at MC since she showed promising behavior in earlier chapters, being the one who made the first steps and the one who pushed Timo out of his shell. I expected her to realize that she has a crush on Timo, but all of that is undermined for a cheap, unneeded drama, since the writer(s) decided to cling to a pathetic love triangle trope. This is the reason this route got only 4 stars from me. Bottom line is that Timo already has a hard time leaving his comfort zone and doing things that defy logic, you don't need to make him regret doing so by being an indecisive bitch who beats around the bush. Anyway, back to the scene. They talk about their dream again and MC discovers that she really loves Timo's smile. He reaches out to touch her cheek and she's so stunned (c'mon now) especially when he asks her what answer is she going to give to Paul. No, obviously no to the proposal. Is what I would like to happen but the shitty love triangle trope needs to be shoved in. MC shits a lot about the already decided thing, by saying that she needs to think about it since Paul is her friend and she owes him a sincere answer (all the more reason to reject him and not prolong it). Timo pats her head but is visually disappointed. She shits some more about how work comes first and although she likes Paul, he wants different things that don't align with her vision. Okay, go and say that to Paul. Timo changes the subject back to work, probably regretting asking anything, because her talk no jutsu can be interpreted as if she has feelings for Paul and is indecisive for that reason. On the other hand, I like how Timo is pushing himself out of his comfort zone and I can see his growth. They come home from work and immediately have to read more articles related to rehabilitation, but we all know it's just an excuse to keep them together and move the plot further. It would be interesting if they consulted real research and inserted a few professional sentences here and there. But sure enough, the plot mover comes in form of Naoki's gift from his hometown - sake. While reading, they sip sake and Timo suddenly kisses her. She doesn't reject it and he asks her if she likes him. He kisses her again before she can reply.
Just when it gets hot and heavy, Timo leans against her and she stops him saying that things are going too fast only to realize that he fell asleep. MC notices that Timo emptied his bottle of sake and, since was a small one, she concludes he doesn't have much alcohol tolerance. She manages to lay him down on the sofa and covers him with a blanket. Again, the scene is left blank and MC states the next day that she slept beside Timo, but can't remember how she got to do that. Timo fills in the blanks- he woke up at one point and carried her to his bed, but he can't remember how he ended up beside her.
Let me tell you- you got in bed with her, mystery solved and it's fucking absurd how they used this shit for the third time. MC tells him about the alcohol episode and Timo is extremely embarrassed. Before he can say anything, his phone rings and they have to get back to work because someone from a renowned international research institute came. The big shot is disappointed that the leopard is resting because he wanted to see him run. Timo offers to show him data, but he quickly brushes it off and says he doesn't have time. Take a guess who's the antagonist in this story. Henry is the first to confirm that professor Dickhead doesn't like animals in case you had any doubts. Timo quickly agrees.
Several days go by, and MC notices how Timo is keeping his distance. She tries to use the kitten as an excuse to talk to him, but he curtly replies and says no. When she tries a friendlier approach and asks if something is bothering him, he walks away. Julia believes that he regrets kissing her. What did you expect? He probably feels awkward and ashamed of his advances because you're keeping Paul on the back burner. The rift continues to deepen no matter how many times MC attempts to communicate with him. Timo seemingly returned to his old ways, because even when she admits that she misses him, he says that he doesn't have time and that she should hang out with someone else. Like Paul for example.
MC takes his advice and she encounters Paul, and... this bitch I swear... has a thought that he must have realized that she doesn't want to marry him. Yeah, I was really frustrated with this. Just fucking say that you don't want to marry him already. While they chitchat, Paul mentions the rumor that Timo got a job offer from that big-shot Dickhead. Despite saying praises about Timo, she becomes more depressed since she's convinced that he will leave. Paul continues to talk about how it's a great opportunity and how he will organize a farewell party for him, while MC tunes out. She remembers their time together, the talk about dreams, and wants to cry. Paul interrupts her train of thought and insists on her confiding in him, but she reassures him that everything is fine. She thinks how things would be easier if she had fallen for Paul.
I... already ranted in part 1, so I'll restrain myself from mentioning Paul's rapey vibes in his route.Anyway, this is the moment when she needs to get advice, and I would be totally fine with it if it didn't undermine the great moments between Julia and Timo. It's reasonable to think that MC understands him better than anyone at this point. She should be the one to know how Timo is struggling and that his defense mechanism is to push people away. The only advice she should get is about the obvious thing that Timo likes her, since Paul knows, and can offer a male POV. BUT NO. Instead, this happens.
Paul can literally read her mind by observing her frown (dude, maybe she's constipated). He tells her how Timo is a socially awkward person and has burdens on his own, especially now. This scene essentially takes a massive dump on all the earlier relationship development. Timo walks in while Paul is hugging her, and apologizes for interrupting them. If that wasn't forced enough then the next scene sure testifies to that because MC literally screams "Don't go!" taking Timo by surprise. Paul makes his exit thankfully, whispering something to Timo.
Timo and Julia go to the second floor to talk, and he admits he got a job offer from professor Dickhead. She congratulates him and Timo is about to say something but the story cannot be resolved because there is still some space left for the artificial conflict and more bullshit writing. Timo gets interrupted by Lucas who starts tugging on his clothes. MC comments on how the dog saved them from an unpleasant topic, forcing me to take a little break in writing this because I started to get enraged at the well-established writer's M.O. to shove the unnecessary, ridiculous circumstances as much as possible.
So, Lucas drags them to the yard where they see a cat and Timo quickly concludes that it’s the mother of the kitten he's looking after (let's say I buy all of this because I had some extremely clever pets over the years, but the reality is that the writer(s) need(s) to get rid of the kitten since Timo either has to go away or stay), so he brings the kitten and it's reunited with its mother. MC asks if he'll feel lonely without the kitten, and he says that he's used to being alone.
Wait, Timo, don't blindside me like this, I was mad
Back in her room, Joy's waiting for her (MC never locks the door) and dumps some clothes she wants to get rid of. Joy can read her mind as well, and MC confesses to her that she loves Timo and that she is sad that he's going to leave because of the job offer. Joy then reminds her that a long-distance relationship is a thing and MC's mood lifts. She tries some clothes on because it's time for another premium moment. Julia finds Timo and decides to finally have the talk that she was conveniently postponing up until the last chapter. Timo asks her if she's going somewhere because she looks different than usual, and when she asks if she looks weird he bluntly replies that she's quite attractive. Lol, smooth. MC tells him everything she was suppressing, how she hates that they grew distant and how she's sad about him leaving despite being glad that he's recognized as a great researcher. Timo shares that he put some distance between them because he's been conflicted between logic (to accept the amazing job that would help him advance to his dream) and the feelings he developed for her. In the end, he confesses.
Despite it, the next scene shows us Julia crying in her room because Timo is set on leaving. If it feels like a chunk of the story is missing, you’re right. Turns out you purchased the premium moment for nothing, because there is a huge difference between the premium and normal moment.
In normal route she goes to his apartment and is saddened when she sees that his apartment is almost empty. The reality hits hard, and Timo asks her what she wanted since he doesn't have much time and needs to pack. MC apologizes for interrupting him, and says that she needs to get something off her chest. She confesses that she loves him, and Timo is visibly uncomfortable saying that he's not good at that sort of thing. MC says that she's willing to wait for him but he says that this is his answer and that he doesn't want her to do that.
She receives a call that one of the leopards is missing. She collides with Timo on her way out and decides to set private things aside to focus on the job. They leave together.
-Supreme ending- The leopard has gone missing, and Timo reminds MC that they had an attempt of breaking into the leopard's cage and he wants to call ALERTE GENERALE! and get the cops..
MC suspects that the poachers could be behind it, but Timo says that the injured leopard is the one who's missing, so poachers couldn't sell it at full price. During their search of the animal reserve, they encounter professor Dickhead trying to escape with the leopard and a few other henchmen. Dickhead wants the leopard for his institute and to take all the credits. He tries to convince Timo that it would be beneficial to his career too, and Timo loses his shit and tells him politely to go fuck himself. Dickhead doesn't fail to mention that he only offered a job to Timo because of the leopard case and that he doesn't intend to leave the results of his research behind. Timo says that he can shove the job offer where the sun doesn't shine.
Police arrest them and the background plot is over and it's meh as usual. MC consoles Timo, saying that he will be one of the most renowned researchers n the world because he works hard and deserves it. He blushes and Andrea makes another creepy appearance to take their picture. Timo tells him to get lost (how the fuck did he enter?) and they make it to the papers.Timo is not going anywhere, but MC thinks he wants to put his job first and decides to keep her feelings to herself. What the fuck was this then? Why is this not acknowledged in the slightest? At least you shouldn’t do something major like this if you plan to continue as if I played it for free.
They have to test my patience ‘till the very last minute. Mr. C decides to throw them a small party to celebrate their success (as if he needs a reason to party) and Joy urges MC to confess her feelings... again. Paul teases Timo about being rivals in love. Timo says they aren't, to make the dramatic effect so that MC can draw all the wrong conclusions. Naturally, he loves her and taunts Paul.
After he kisses her, MC assumes he had a drink or two, and everyone congratulates them. Timo apologizes for taking so long to make a move, but he promises she won't get rid of him easily, 'cause he'll stick around forever. MC asks about the sudden kiss and he just replies that he got tired of watching Paul make moves on her.
So we really don't count that fucking premium moment, huh?
-Happy Ending-
In this version, the leopard wasn't stolen. It wandered off and was trying to jump on a tree. Timo stops him, worried about the rehabilitation. He tells Julia that he decided to accept the job, but is concerned about the leopard's recovery. Fast forward to the day of his departure, and MC is trying hard not to be sad. She hides behind the others because she thinks she might break down in tears, but Timo walks up to her and asks her if he can shake her hand. It's a bittersweet moment where MC wishes him all the best and thinks about how they will see each other again since they chase the same dream. After Timo leaves, Paul asks her if she wants to have dinner. MC knows that he's trying to console her, and refuses. She also rejects his proposal, thinking how it would be easy to let Paul patch up her wounds but it wouldn't be fair to him since she loves Timo. Finally some common sense. A year passes and Paul informs her that Timo is back because of a collaboration and he will potentially stay for a year. MC is happy because her feelings grew even stronger, so she rushes to see him. When she finds him in the leopard area, she welcomes him back enthusiastically, but Timo can't look her in the eyes. He questions her why she's excited to see him when he chose work over her, and she states that she understands why he did it. It was a difficult choice to make, and she would be in a dilemma too. She admits that she still loves him, and Timo is torn and conflicted, stating that she makes it difficult for him to leave her. Although she is hopeful by his answer (confession from the premium moment never happened), Timo says that he's an awkward person who doesn't know how to properly balance work and relationships (it's realistic I admit it, but I'm still mad about the premium moment). Despite it, MC states that she won't stop loving him and that she wants him to love her back. Timo is stunned again and reveals that he didn't stop thinking about her since the day he left. He asks for forgiveness, and they hug each other and confess their love.
Final thoughts: I think Timo's route is the most realistic one I've read in this otome. It has great insights into the work MC does, why she loves it, and what's her goal/dream. You should definitely read it to get the whole picture of her as a person, regardless of the romantic route. Each route more or less contains some information about Julia Darwin and the way she will behave depends on the circumstances and love interest. I already mentioned how MC tends to take the personality which would suit the LI, but her core traits such as loving her work and animals, and being a workaholic don't change. Although I liked Timo's route, it's far from perfect with all the artificial drama, some inconsistent parts, not caring about the premium scenes, and other minor flaws. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. As for the endings, I like elements from both supreme and happy ending, and my ideal ending would be a combination of both. All in all, I really liked Timo's route and don't regret the money spent despite the last premium moment failure.
If you read all of this, thank you!
