I'm sorry for not uploading and answering ask, I was pretty busy because of family issues, Don't worry! We're just fine.
I got some lore ready though!
Bare with me, my writing is actually ass and cringy
Wukong: Agh! What the!? Macaque, get off! Pried Macaque off of him
Macaque: laughs as he stood back Alright whatever you say, Love.
Wukong: blinking Okay this must be a misunderstanding, but I'm not your love.
Macaque: Yes you are.
Wukong: No-
Macaque: Yes.
Wukong: No, I'm-
MK walked in, seeing both Wukong and Macaque.
MK: Uhh Monkey King, there's someone who wants to see you-?
All three monkeys went outside to see a figure standing with a sword pointed to Tang, Pigsy and Mei. MK went in front of them, extending his arms out to shield his beloved family.
Wukong:...Tu'er-
Tu Shen: ...Sun Wukong. Grabs his scarf and shakes him WHAT WERE YOU THINKING. STEALING FROM YUE LAO LIKE THAT..!?
Tang: YUE LA- gets his mouth covered
Wukong: Hey woah stop-! Getting dizzy
Tu Shen: stopped I can't believe you! Don't tell me you've done something with it- sees Macaque Oh gods Wukong...
Wukong: looks at Macaque Why..is there something wrong...?
Tu Shen: You shot him!? Who did he saw first when he woke up!? Stares at all of them that were in the restaurant
Wukong: Me. Seriously is there something wrong with the gu-
Tu Shen: It's a Cupid's Gun for crying out loud.
Everyone:...
Wukong: Wait so..Oh gods..
Tu Shen: knocks his head Great Job, you let your enemy fall in love with you!
Wukong: Well how do we change him back smart guy!?
Tu Shen: No cure. (W: WHAT!?) But I could extract it from his eye-
Wukong: steps in front of Macaque No what-? That's not- Is there any more non painful way-!?
Tu Shen: None but I'll be letting all of you to take care of him while I'm gone. I'll brief all of you on this matter.
Yue Lao's Gun, more so Cupid's Gun is a highly dangerous artifact used by tricksters. The demons who have crafted this, gifted it to Yue Lao to spread love. One bullet was used and disasters strike. The Old Man on the Moon returned the artifact back to it's original owner but the mischievous demons used the gun to spread chaos. Yue Lao sealed the gun, never to be seen again.
Tu Shen: jabs Wukong Until you unsealed it!
Wukong: HEY! IT LOOKED LIKE A POWERFUL ARTIFACT.........I had to get my hands on it-
Tu Shen: You impulsive cheeky monkey. Just keep an eye on your friend...Judging by the looks of it, the bullet had made it's home inside his mind.
MK: WHAT!? What do you mean??
Mei: HOME? WHAT DO YOU MEAN HOME??
Tu Shen: It's more than just a bullet, that thing is a parasite.
Tang: A p-p-parasite!??
Pigsy: Ain't no bug is gonna be in my kitchen!
MK: Is there anyway we'd should know to keep an eye on him?
Mei: Yeah there's must be, oh I don't know, a step by step instructions or something!
Tu Shen: Just don't give him affections, the bug gets powerful by it.
Macaque: taps on Wukong's shoulder Can I have a hug?
Wukong: stares at Macaque.....Sure bud, come he-
Macaque: hugs Wukong
Wukong: ! ...........smiles softly as he hugs him back
Tu Shen: What did I just say-
Tu Shen: Well that's not good.
MK: Monkey King-! Tu'er Shen said no affections!
Mei: This is gonna be bad..

Nightmare
Relationship: Sun Wukong X CelestialMaiden!Reader
AN: Written in a fever at two am after thinking about the Laozi Furnace...and this little thought from @monkeykingdomblog2 (if you don't want to be tagged let me know!)
Not the same fic I posted a sneak peak of a couple days ago, that wip is still being worked on
Tags: Violence, Blood, Hurt, Comfort, Slight Gore, Attempted burning someone to death, Reader is insulted and beaten up a little, Nightmares
Summary: Memories return as the worst nightmares.
Read it on AO3!
“Restrain her.”
The hands that grab you are firm and unyielding, far stronger than you. You don't care, you push and fight against them as best you can, screaming at the Jade Emperor.
“No! No, you can't! Let him go!” A hand tries to grip your jaw to pull you head back, you don't hesitate to sink your teeth into the calloused flesh in response. The guard hisses and jerks his hand away, and you feel his skin give way as blood splatters from your teeth.
You can see Sun Wukong struggling against his ties, his frantic gaze searching for you through the crowd of soldiers and celestials. His eyes find yours just in time to watch the guard you just bit backhand you across the face.
You cry, pain swelling in your cheek. You've never been hit before.
Your vision swirls as a wave of dizziness washes over you, your cheek throbbing in time with your heartbeat. You hear a shriek of rage at the base of Laozi's furnace, the sound of the Jade Emperor and guards shouting and fighting to get the Money King under control and into the metal chamber.
“Who are you!? I'll kill you for that, get your fucking hands off her-!” Wukong's angry voice brings you back, and you shake yourself in an effort to stop the spinning and regain mobility in your feet. The second guard holding you loosens his grip, as if unsure if he should still hold you or tackle the guard that just hit you. The Jade Emperor’s voice is barely heard over the screeching coming from Sun Wukong.
“You! You'll be punished later, not one more harmful hand on my niece! I don't care if she fights back, she is not to be harmed!” The guard who hit you, his hand bleeding profusely from the chunk you bit out of it, silently nods at your uncle's words.
“Punishment isn't enough! I'll kill him, let me go you cowards! You'll regret this-!” Wukong's words sound fainter as the two guards surrounding you drag you away. You spit, blood and drool leaking steadily down your chin and throat to stain the lovely outfit your uncle had gifted you just days prior. Your bottom lip is split, your cheek already swelling. In another few minutes you're sure your eye will be swollen shut with some proper bruising to match. This doesn't stop you from screaming to your uncle, your jaw popping as you do so.
“P-please uncle! Please don't do this, he doesn't deserve it!” Your voice cracks pathetically, tears streaming down your cheeks and not helping the throbbing you feel in your head. It hurts, everything hurts so much but you need to stop them-you need to help him-
“My niece, he has left us no choice. Be silent.” He glares at the two guards holding you. “Why is she still here? Drag her to her room and keep her there!” You try to resist, but your struggling is weaker than it was. You can see over the crowd Wukong being carried to the opening of the furnace, still struggling and bucking like a wild animal to be free. You can hear the threats he snarls at those holding him.
“You'll regret this, every single one of you! Let me free now and I won't kill you for this, just destroy this stupid fucking palace-!” A guard shoves his head hard, pushing him over the last foothold of the furnace. Wukong's bound body disappears from your view, the sound of him landing roughly on piles of coal and charred wood reaching your ears. Laozi waits for the last guard to step away from the opening before pushing the metal cover into place. You can hear Wukong's voice still echoing, the metal walls amplifying his voice to a demonic echo around the room.
“Let me out! If you don't-I'll-I'll-” Laozi kneels before his creation, and within seconds a mighty blaze lights up the furnace, the metal discoloring immediately at the blazing heat. Your own scream of horror is drowned out by the promise Sun Wukong screams.
“I'll kill you all!” No more words reach your ears, just the sound of screeching and fire as the guards finally push you out the door. The urge to fight is still there, the need to rush back through those gilded doors and do something, anything, to save the one you love pushing you to keep resisting.
The guards continue to push you away, no matter how many times you stomp on their feet, no matter how many times you bite and claw and kick, they keep pushing you away.
“Let me go! I need to help him, they're going to kill him-!” You sob, hysterical with your grief.
“Silence already! You're going back to your room, your uncle demands it.” One guard, the one who held you as you ripped into the hand of the other, pushes you and is careful of your gnashing teeth. The one you did bite focuses on body-blocking the hallway in case you get loose. He carefully keeps his injured hand close to his side.
“Fuck you-!” You screech, thrashing with all your might. The guard curses, putting his leg in-between yours to try and trip you up, to get you to lose your balance. It almost works, but your movement leads to you twisting in his hold, your robes tearing under his firm grip. You do fall then, catching yourself on the gleaming floor before you hit your head. You try to will yourself to get up, but the dizziness from before is back with a vengeance, and you stumble again.
“That is quite enough!” The harsh sound of your uncle's voice rings through the hallway. Behind the guards you hear the heavy doors slam once more, and your uncle, green robes flowing with his usual elegance, steps into view. He takes one look at you on the floor and you see the disgust and disappointment settle into his gaze.
“Look at you! A horrid sight, what has gotten into your head child!?” You meet his gaze, unwavering.
You do make quite a sight, you're aware.
Cheek and eye swollen with the beginnings of black and purple bruising blotching your face, your lips, chin and throat coated in drool and sticky blood - your own and the guard’s who stand infront of you - staining your once beautiful clothing. Said clothing is ripped and tattered, barely preserving your modesty. You see your uncle's eyes widen at the sight of bite marks and hickeys littering the smooth skin of your neck and shoulders.
You raise your head higher, showing off the marks of your lover proudly. Your uncle pinches the bridge of his nose.
“Don't tell me-! Unwed, with that-! That demon in there!?” You refuse to back down.
“I love him.” Your voice is firm despite the hoarseness from your earlier screaming. Your confession is damning.
With narrowed eyes, your uncle stalks forward.
“He will die. The furnace will burn all traces of him away, nothing will be left. If you're lucky, this incident won't scare off any potential suitors. Although who would want an unwed demon whore as a wife is beyond me.” The words sting, but not as much as you expected them too. After lifetimes of being told worse for less heinous acts, they don't hold as much sway over you as they once did.
“He will live. He always lives. And when he's free he'll come for me, and I'll be his wife.” And as you speak the words, you find that you believe them. This is Sun Wukong. Nothing can stop him, you know this in your heart.
Your uncle looks at you with disdain.
“His influence on you is too great. You're practically feral. Disgraceful.” The Jade Emperor turns away from you, looking to the guards. “Have her watched at all hours of day and night. She is not to leave her room. Servants will be instructed on her care later. For now, keep her out of sight.”
And as the guards drag you away, your uncle doesn't look back.
~~~~~~~
The days pass.
Following your uncle's orders you aren't let out of your room. Food is brought to you and no one visits you except the servants assigned to your care. The guards positioned outside your door don't talk to you no matter what you scream at them.
The servants assigned to you made it clear what they thought of you, sneering as they handed you your food and darting away from you as if you carried disease. When bathing a servant tried to harass you for the apparent shame you brought to the palace, pinching your skin and yanking you roughly into place. You retaliated by snarling, snapping your teeth at them and smacking them across the face, hard. The others gathered around you were shocked into silence, biting their tongues and refusing to step closer to you or help their coworker. You had growled at them to leave you be, you would take your baths yourself from now on. It's not like you needed to be layered in makeup and fine outfits when you weren't able to go outside.
For forty-nine days you stay in that room, trying everything you could think of to escape. You try using your limited magic to trick the guards, you hoard anything that seems even remotely useful to help you get out. The furthest you made it was to the grand hallway leading to where you know the furnace is still burning hot. Your uncle had let the guards handle you with more aggression than usual when you were sent back to your rooms that day.
You hear them all whispering. About you, about Sun Wukong. You cover your ears when they sneer at you that he's dead. You know it's a lie. You won't believe it till you see his ashes yourself.
The bruising on your face is mostly healed, replaced with new bruises and cuts from your numerous escape attempts and the subsequent rough handling of the guards. Many nights you crawl under the covers of your bed and cry, wishing that Wukong was there to hold you, to kiss your skin better as he whispers how much he loves you.
On the final day, you know Wukong is free by the screaming.
The timing is lucky, it's when a servant is bringing you lunch. Down the long winding hallways you can hear guards and servants shouting, your uncle's voice barking orders, and the faint sound of your love shrieking in rage.
You don't hesitate, slamming into the servant next to you before they can do anything and throwing your plate of food into the face of the guard standing by the door. His momentary surprise lets you slip past, and you race down the hall in nothing but the under skirt and blouse of your usual hanfu. You don't care about your state of undress, desperate to push through the throng of screaming servants and celestials to get to Wukong.
You burst into an open room, tapestries on the walls burning and in tatters, tables and art and bowls of food spilled and broken across the ground. As people push past you, you see the dead bodies littering the space. Blood and viscera, broken armor and weapons, battered soldiers trying to circle like a swarm around the center of the room as panicked celestials push and shove. In the center of the mass, a demon of stone, metal, and fire stands as a smoking silhouette. Fire licks the air from his armor, ash falls to the ground from his smoking form as metal burns an eye piercing red hot.
The demon stands above a fallen guard, his foot pushing on the space of the guard’s throat and choking him.
“Where is she?” The demon snarls. Your breath leaves you in a rush, the sound of Sun Wukong’s voice hitting you full force after nearly two months without him. You realize you recognize the guard under the Monkey King’s blazing foot. The one who backhanded you so long ago.
“Sh-shoul-have burned-” Is all the guard manages to squeal out. Wukong snarls, and without any effort pushes his foot down. A sickening ‘crsck’ follows, and the guard falls limp, his windpipe crushed.
A servant trying to push past you screams in terror, and Sun Wukong looks in your direction.
Blazing red eyes, the same color as burning coal, lock onto you. You don't even notice the servant running down the hall behind you, your hand shooting out to catch yourself on the doorframe to the grand room. Those red eyes burn into you, and for a moment you wonder if your love even recognizes you. The scratches and bruises littering your skin burn with how self-conscious you suddenly feel.
Sun Wukong straightens, gaze darting from you to the body under his foot, to the molten metal and stone currently coating his body. His facial features are nearly hidden from the amount of smoke and ash covering him, only those burning eyes and his massive canines stand stark against his burning silhouette.
Even so, those are the eyes you love. You can see the flash of fear in them at the sight of you, of you coming across him at his most unhinged. He fully expects you to turn and run like the others.
So instead, you run towards him.
“Wukong-!” You cry; arms outstretched towards him. Those burning eyes widen in surprise, but his arms still catch you without hesitation. The fire of his body doesn't burn you, the heat instead circling gently around your battered form and cradling you like something precious. Your tears finally fall, evaporating against his armor instantly as you cling to him like a lifeline. Wukong's arms wrap around your waist, squeezing you against him as he buries his nose into your hair. In the midst of chaos, you find a reprieve within each other.
He pulls away from you just enough to look down at you, a clawed hand making its way to your jaw and erasing around the back of your neck and into your hair. He studies your face, every scratch and bruise left over, his thumb stroking your cheek with a softness others would find impossible with his current appearance.
“There you are…” He whispers. You lean up and kiss him, uncaring of the ash and smoke you taste when doing so. It's him, he's back in your arms, and his lips still feel so soft against yours…
The guards surrounding the room are shouting at you both, and you pull away from each other to glare. Wukong pulls you closer to his side, shielding your body with his own as he growls and hisses at the guards. The voice of your uncle bellows over the crowd.
“Enough! Surround them both! It's time to put an end to this foolishness!” You see him walk into the room, accompanied by even more soldiers, his jade robes billowing around him. Wukong’s tail thrashes behind you both, his glare a blazing heat. You can see the fear on your uncle's face.
“Monkey! You've done enough; I am tired of your constant trouble making! This time-! This time you will get what's coming to you!” Your brow furrows as you glare at your uncle, who doesn't meet your eyes.
In the next moment, a near blinding golden glow steps into the room. The great Buddha himself stands with your uncle, his face serene and peaceful, eyes closed. You know he can see you.
A powerful wave of dread washes over you, fear and panic taking over. You need to run, you need to get Wukong out of here, they're going to take him-
With a gasp, you jolt awake.
Your eyes open to the sight of a campfire, the last embers fading. The sight of the charred wood, still burning red, sends a flash of panic though you. Where is he? He needs you-
“Shhh, my mate. It's okay.” Wukong's voice sounds raspy with sleep from behind you. It's enough to bring you back to the present, details of where you are coming into focus.
Zhu Bajie is snoring against a far tree, the monk is sitting off to the side as he sleeps against Bai Long Ma, who's head rests in the monk’s lap. Sha Wujing is curled up on his own bedroll next to the fire.
Wukong's strong arm is wrapped tight against your middle, under your sleep clothes. The fur of his arms tickles against your skin. His legs are tangled with yours, his feet gripping your own legs to keep you close. You can feel his firm, broad chest against your back, his breathing even and slow.
With a breathy wiggle, you turn so you can face him. You immediately bury your face into his pectorals, the soft fur tickling your cheeks as his heart beats under your ear. A clawed hand comes up to play idly with your hair.
“Nightmare?” He asks.
“Yes. The furnace…” You mutter against him. His hand pauses before burying into your hair and staying there. The feeling of his arms around you starts to calm you down, your racing heart finally slowing. Just when you think you might drift off again, you feel Wukong shudder. A choked noise leaves him, his breathing growing erratic. Eyes widening, you pull away just enough to look up at his face.
His bottom lip is trapped between his teeth, eyes squeezed closed as quiet tears fall. Without thinking your own hands come up to cup his cheeks, bringing him close to you. You press your foreheads together, and his eyes open to stare into yours.
“I just…want to go home…”
Your heart absolutely shatters.
“I want to go home, mate. I want to see-” Another shuddering gasp, “I want to see my monkeys. I want to see the new little ones that were born this spring. I want to go to the top of the mountain and dance under the stars with you again…”
You press a desperate kiss to his lips, trying to push all the love and support you can into it. He gives a quiet whimper, his tail coming up from behind him to circle around your back. When you separate, you press more kisses to his face, desperate for him to feel the love you hold for him in your heart, in a way words can't convey.
“Soon my love…someday soon…” Is all you can whisper to him.
what would happen if monkey!Reader was harassed by a male monkey who tries to woo her and really won't give up(let's assume this happens before the kings announces their courtship since i doubt they would lay a finger on her if they knew) pls i need i've been harassed, heavily uneasely catcalled and saved by a dude who intervened(my hero❤) and i need to portray this asshole dead
Okie! It looks like I am making an oc Monkie demon who is also an absolute prick! I mean not all of them can be ‘nice’ and respectful. Like Wukong and Macaque are assholes there is no doubt about that but they will defiantly not harass Reader into bed with them. They even make sure she know about the cave they set aside for females who are in heat, a cave which is guarded and watched to make sure NO MALES come barging in during such a vulnerable time. They respect that women can and will say no to sex.
Now our price of a monkey demon who I shall name Linshu is NOT like that at all. (Will probably add him into cursed warlords too… hmm. Sorry back to the ask) Let’s get to it.
“Doesn’t it look so pretty!” Spirit cheered as she held up a bunch of flowers in her hands, her face brimming with pure joy.
You couldn’t help but chuckle at her pure excitement, ever since you two came to the island she was all smiles. Well after her short fight with her ‘dad’, but that didn’t last too long. You shook the thought away as she went back to looking at the flowers pointing out different ones, telling you the name and even the symbolism behind it. Her dad’s mate loved flowers and explained them to Spirit.
“Well look at these two beautiful ladies,” a new voice caught your attention causing both you and Spirit to turn and look at him.
Immediately Spirit’s face soured while you just looked. He must be someone Spirit met when you were exploring. You didn’t bother saying hello and frowned when your friend stepped in front of you.
“What do you want Linshu?” Spirit growled lowly.
“Can’t I say hi to the new troop members?” He asked with a smug smirk.
You narrowed your eyes at his attitude while looking him up and down. He was a short monkey demon with a dark grey pelt which was pretty well groomed, a rather toned body from fights, she could tell solely by the scars he had. There was a slash at his neck, one across his abdomen and another on his chest.
“Like what you see?” He asked proudly.
You narrowed your eyes again, he acted as though you should bow down to him. Where could someone get the nerve? He must be on some sort of power trip unless he always acted like this. If so then you didn’t want anything to do with this island at all.
“Not particularly, come on Spirit let’s go,” You said calmly.
Linshu’s face flushed in rage immediately gritting his teeth as if you had declared a fight against him or thrown some awful punch. You went to leave without any more talking when he grabbed your arm with a sneer. “Hold it there! You should be honored I’m giving you my attention!”
Your eyes darkened immediately before you moved and decked him across the face, hard. A low growl escaping your lips as you stood toe to toe with him. “Keep your hands off,” You growled. His grip didn’t move when he started yelling profanities at you, he was stronger and you hated that.
“Listen here, you should be honored that one of The King’s ACTUAL people are offering you a place here! You could be my mate and you would fucking love it. I am a powerful demon who is only second to the kings themselves. You have no right to deny me-“ He continued to yell at you.
“Let her go you prick!” Spirit yelled as she came over to help you, her tail lashing angrily.
Growling lowly you were about to speak when he suddenly released your arm and let out a pained cry. You were shocked to see Macaque’s hand on his shoulder, his grip tightening harder with each passing second. A dark threatening look settled easily across his face.
“What do you think you’re doing?” He questioned smoothly and the monkey immediately held still.
“N-Nothing my King, I was merely speaking with these women- Ah-AHH!” He shouted as blood dripped down his arm from Macaque’s claws.
“Hmm, it appears you don’t know your place,” His words were calm and steady even as his eyes burned with a very dangerous rage.
Loud footsteps came forward and you were shocked to see non other than Sun Wukong himself and to say his mate was the only angry one would be a lie. Rage covered his face while he held his staff over his shoulder, his grip tightly around it.
“Wukong my dear, would you please take these two out? I’m sure they would prefer not to witness this,” Macaque said calmly, while his tail lashed threateningly.
You didn’t even get the chance to say anything as Wukong pulled you away, Spirit following behind quickly. You were too far away to hear the sounds of his screams by the time Macaque began to- teach him a lesson. Not that you have much time to worry about it as Wukong takes you to the healer to check for any injuries.
All in all, you would definitely be in good hands the moment you come onto the island. Weather the two warlords have decided that they want you to be their mate yet or not. These two would definitely protect their troop from those not in it and those who are being assholes. Also that bitch dead, he died and is NEVER coming back. Hope you enjoyed Sleepy!
✨ShadowPeach Bio Parents Bio AU Q&A! 17/11✨
Welcome to the Q&A! A space where I can answer related or similar question about the Shadowpeach Bio Parents AU! If you submitted your ask anonimously, then you’ll have to check the whole post if it’s answered here, if it’s not, worry not! Your asks might have been used for a future comic or just in the queue~
Anonimo ha chiesto: (Baby Mk trying to wake up macaque) Macaque: Wukong your son's awake Wukong: Before sunrise he's your son. Lol lion King reference
Aaaaaaahhh I love it! I was thinking the same!
Anonimo ha chiesto: I wonder if MK is experiencing any other Yaoguai urges? Besides his crush instincts and fun Monkey habits and behaviors.
mmmmm I think he mostly sometimes starts a tantrum in monkey style, where he starts to move a lot and jumps around
Anonimo ha chiesto: So like do macaque and wukong have rings or anything like now I think it would be cute if they renewed their vow.
I think I need to go study traditional chinese weddings traditions
l@ovingshadowpeaches ha chiesto: Ohhh my gosh i finally have the balls to send you this ask!! I adore your shadowpeach bio parents AU SO SO SO MUCH, your art style is so satisfying and mesmerising to look at, the plot is chefs kiss and I hope you know I LOVE all the soysauce duo content i am being fed and our Macaque introject adores it because the MK he knows is his son and your comic makes him feel a lot more valid and closer to his boy, your comic is so comforting to both him and me. I can't wait to see how it all plays out and I can't express enough how much we love love this comic!! All the love!!! GAH!!!
awww tysm for your ask!!!! :')
Anonimo ha chiesto: I think that is hilarious that macaque yoinked the great sage. Also other demons jealous Mac?!?! I need more jealous mac. I can only imagine it went like, Here is a basket of delicious peaches for your enjoyment. Excuse me while I go beat the shit out this demon for trying to take you away (Not that they could even if they got past Macaque).
hehe meanwhile Wukong's ego grows tenfold
Anonimo ha chiesto: SHADOWPEACH BIO PARENT AU The last question had me saying: what was Pigsy's and Tang's reaction to Mk's l̶o̶v̶e̶r̶ crush on Red Son? And also the court napping thing?
I think at first they didn't believe it, then they realized what happened, and didn't know wheter being shocked or not since they should have absolutely saw it coming.
@vex--lynn ha chiesto: Do you find it crazy how much you've affected the Fandom, like you've taken it by storm! It's kinda like when "Garden across our collarbone" took over the Fandom. In the end, we're left crying happy tears. I'm so happy to have found this comic while it was still being made cause I feel like I'm part of the adventure of these crazy monkies! I wish you nothing but the best for you!! <3
BRO u CAN'T JUST PULL OUT THAT NAME AND MINE IN THE SAME CONTEXT. That fic is like an atomic bomb I'm just a humble artist drawing gay monkies.
Anonimo ha chiesto: I just want you to know that your LMK comic is getting me through a really hard time in my life right now. It really helps to have something to smile about and look forward to. Thank you so much for all the recent fluff. It brings me a lot of joy. 💕 Awwww tysm!!
Aww that's so nice to hear!
Anonimo ha chiesto: Okay since mac has 6 sensitive ears... wouldn't be sometimes hard for him...? l mean what if there was very strong noises like fireworks or smt around!? U know what is the best solution for this!! Mac lying down between wukong's arms and put his head on chest and listen to his heartbeat!!! This will absolutely will calm him down right? I WANNA SEE THIS IN YOUR COMICS PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAASS
askjcbaicbasc that's sooooo cute! Maybe, perhaps, in the future, who knows....
Anonimo ha chiesto: Is it slowly building back up to shadowpeach getting back together or? 🤔 idk their relationship status rn
situationship so bad these 2 are sleeping together and have a kid but still are allergic to flirt like normal people.
Anonimo ha chiesto: Got a question about Sun Wukong being trans. I know he probably uses glamour to hide his ✨✨boobies✨✨. But like, is he also using tape or are they kinda just... Out Cause now I'm thinking about the times we've seen him shirtless so like... ???
before he learned to shapeshift he mostly used bandages since that's all he could do at the time. Now MK is teaching him what binders are and he couldn't be more grateful.
@ayrza ha chiesto: I know you may not share it, or even read it, but I need to get it out of me. Do you realize that MK has only had father figures and no mother figures? Which means that the simple word "MAMA" carries too much sentimental weight and that's... 🥹 THIS COULD NOT BE MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN YOU ALREADY MADE IT!!! MY BABY SAID MAMA!!!! 😭✨💖
o my gAAAAHHD I THINK THAT WAS UNINTENTIONAL OF ME BUT THIS CHANGES EVERYTHINGGG
@s-p-r-i-n-g-t-i-m-e ha chiesto: question: what does MK call Pigsy and Tang? Anonimo ha chiesto: I love the new post i am crying 😢 😭 But I do have a question is mac mama and wukong Baba, or is wukong Mama and mac baba this is an important question I have for you???
Pigsy is "Dad" and Tang is "Papa". Mac is "Mama" and Wukong is "Baba"
Anonimo ha chiesto: I’ve seen many many drawings and intereptations of Mac being all piecered, especially on his ears cause if you have six, you gotta use em. Does macaque have any piercings in your au or is his ears too sensitive for that in your mind? Does he like to fidigit with them or any body else?
mmmm he can perfectly have it. I think he would have a few, but only rings and like each of them is far from the others in the lobe area because I can imagine someone with sensitive Hearing wouldn't like to hear the sounds of metal or earrings tingeling every time he moves around.
@alchemical-spill-on-aisle-three ha chiesto: In your shadowpeach comic, is Mei going to help MK with his crush? I just think it would be really funny if they got into hijinks while trying to get MK and Redson together lol
Mei is the one who organized their sparring meetings in the first place. She was Spicynoodle number 1 fan since the beginning.
@straightally2001 ha chiesto: Hmm... if Kai is gonna be MK and Red Son's son does that mean that Nya is gonna be Mei's daughter?
Omg yes. But guys don't tempt me or I might make a "Spicynoodle 50 years later/ninjago crossover" comic the size of the shadowpeach one if we go down this path
Anonimo ha chiesto: If mk is a trans does he still get period?
yes
Anonimo ha chiesto: what is MK’s favorite thing about red boy?
The fact that he tries to hide his emotions but his fire powers reflects them out of his control. MK thinks it's very cute.
Anonimo ha chiesto: So, are you ever going to make a sick episode for the bio dads? I am asking because I am sick, and it would be interesting to see what they are like when sick.
nope sorry. donesn't fit in the current schedule. But MK will go at the hospital at some point if that's of any reassuring.
@sokda-lal-ashes ha chiesto: Do you have why doodles that aren't exactly in the stories but that fits your bio parents au? I love your art so much!! Especially your redson design!!!
Yes but they are spoilers. Sorryyy
Anonimo ha chiesto: Wukong: hay don't forget to eat breakfast. Macaque: what are you talking about I just ate Wukong: you had espresso & anit depressants that is not a meal. Macaque (repeats mocking Wukong) I don't need your judgement I feel like the whole being revived thinks makes macaque sometimes not realize he's hungry or thirsty
ahah how much I relate (I don't take antidepressant but a lot of magnesium bc of mood swings)
@astro-lmk-enjoyer ha chiesto: Wait… if macaque gets his power from a lunar eclipse, does that mean that wukong gets his power from a solar eclipse? Bye <3
Anonimo ha chiesto: Oh so I just had a thought! Since the light hair streaks are being caused by a lunar eclipse because Macaque draws his powers from the moon, is the opposite true for Wukong? Are any of his powers from the sun and would something happen if there was a solar eclipse? Love all the world building in your comics its all so good!!!
mmm I don't think that's how it works.
Anonimo ha chiesto: wait, so since the brotherhood knew about Macaque courtnapping Wukong, did they ever have to witness the monstrosity of cuddles and affection you describe Shadowpeach when they’re together? I could only imagine the awkwardness. Or many they’re totally cool with them being open with each other right in front of them. I know th3 brotherhood won’t show up in your comic as you’ve said before but a fan can only dream.
Oh yeah. O yeah they did.
@shamelesschopshopwasteland ha chiesto: How are Macaque and Wukong? Do they spend time with each other outside of sleeping? (Also I love you AU!!! <3)
Macaque still works from time to time to the Dojo in weekdays, and also likes his alone time, but has been spendind more time with Wukong to help the other monkeys and telling stories about what happened in all those years they missed when they were still enemies.
Anonimo ha chiesto: (I LOVE YOUR ART SM IFDJKEWVJHA, make sure to take breaks!!) Considering Macaque doesn't like the cold. (I love that HC so much, especially because I like to HC that he's freezing 24/7 can only warm up with hot springs and touch but not actual heat/the sun) How would Macaque react in a snowstorm/winter. Would he just bundle up a lot or lock himself in a room or something similar?
3 layers of jackets and self-heating socks when he's going around, otherwise Hot springs every evening.
Anonimo ha chiesto: what other nicknames/pet names does SWK and Macaque have for one another beside peaches and plum?
mmm I think Sun and Moon
@patienceandpokemon ha chiesto: Okay, rip my heart out with happiness in P7 of Monkie trio with the moonlight reveal why don't you?! THANK YOU! But in seriousness, in the latest bit . . Are Mac and MK recharging their shadow powers under the moonlight? Is that why Mac never really attacked in season 1-3 in your AU of LMK, unless there had been a full moon prior? Or am I snowballing into unrelated territory? Anywho, love the comic! He's so fucking fluffy and white like a pearl! And MK, baby fluff!!!!!
Wait he actually did it in the series?? I never noticed!
Anonimo ha chiesto: Soooooo we know Macaque did the courtnapping for shadowpeach so who did the courtnapping for the demon bull family? PIF or DBK👀
I think PIF did?
@boonalina ha chiesto: Question: In your AU, when exactly did Mac and PIF become sworn siblings? Cuz we know Wuk and Mac were sworn bros with DBK, and then DBK "betrayed" them by getting together with PIF. So when exactly would Mac have become sworn siblings with her? Was it like during the time Wukong was under the mountain or smth? Cuz it does seem like Mac drifted apart from the Brotherhood when Wukong was imprisoned.
this is a fandom headcanon, but I believe it was a little after Wukong was imprisoned, and a little after Macaque was revived
Okay you cannot give me possible Macaque vs the destined one without giving me some more! It wasn't enough! Loved it though. So I make m6 very first request to you.
Can I request Reader trying to identify Macaque from The Destined One?
Love your work
- Phoenixeclipse-lmkau 🩷
The blade sunked so deep in his abdomen and with such force that it not only went through but also pierced the stone behind him.
A sudden cry of pain came to him, stuck between the body weight of his opponent and the rock, and only when he tried to break free from them did he feel this burning sensation. Another scream came out of him, more powerful than before, and just when he tried to move away from the blade, the same blade turned red, with the smell of burnt flesh and hair almost making him throw up.
The Macaque just smiled, satisfied with his work. He looked at the scene, circeling the destined one, admiring how his plan slowly was taking form. The blood from the previous attack stood out on his white mane, and his gloden eyes gleam of pure malevolent enjoyment when he saw the other simian trying again to break free, only to meet more pain.
"I make it myself, I'm proud of it. Won't you think, brother?" He snarled at the last word, meeting the furious eyes of the Destined one.
How ironic to be raised both with the same intent, only to reveal the true identity of one another. And how incredibly satisfying to outdone what the first Macaque ever did.
"You...fucking ba-"
"Ah, ah, ah, I would control my words! Especially if I were in your position." He smiled, moving again the magic blade, causing another scream of agony.
"Why are you doing this?!"
"Why? It's not obvious?! To finally take what's mine! You did a good job, brother, really you did, but... well, let's just say that I need to remove you from the picture."
How could he not see it?! The fighting, those strange new abilities, his strange behavior—he was what was left of the Macaque!
But...Wukong killed him, right?! He was able to do it with Buddha's help! How was he able to come back?!
"I'll take the relics that you had gained, then find the ones that are still missing, take their power, and BOM! A new sage! ...this time me, of course!" He laughed; he must have felt so satisfied with how the situation was turning. The destined one was LIVID; he tried and tried again to get free only to feel that pain every time!
"You...won't! You can't find...the relics! Only the destined one AND the Bián huá have this ability!"
"Don't you think I wouldn't think of that?" He smiled again, looking at him, leaning against the rock. Instantly, the monkey understood what the Macaque Plan was going, and suddenly he started to struggle against the magic blade, trying to ignore the constant pain.
"NO! Don't you dare; don't you freaking dare! You won't lay a finger on her!"
"Yeah, and who's going to stop me, huh? I already take care of that old pig, and this thing here is made specifically to hold you in place."
The destined one, the One that was closer than ever before to awaken the Great Sage, was enraged because His precious Bián huá was alone and ready to be stolen. That was too good to be true!
"Aaah came on, don't take It too bad! I'm releasing you from this stress! You should thank me! ... Or you angry for something else?"
Yuán Fèn started to snarl so hard that his own teeth were cutting his cheeks from inside. His wound was getting worse for the continuous reopening from the metal and the burn. His eyes were glowing from his rage and fear of what could happen to you with the macaque.
His counterpart, on the other hand, was having the time of his life, but he had work to do...
"Don't worry, brother," he said menacingly, passing his hand in front of his face, taking the same exact look as the monkey. "She won't notice the difference."
And so he took his time, laughing on the way out, while the Destined One was screaming in rage.
///
He was surely taking his time, which was strange... Yuán Fèn never took too long for a solo scouting, especially when you both were in some desolated place like that forest.
Even Bajie hasn't returned yet. You started to get worried; they should have been back hours ago.
You were just packing your staff, ready to search for them, when the rustles of the leaves and a well-known tail calmed you down.
"Oh boy...you gave me a heart attack!"
The monkey in front of you smirked, coming down from the branch that was supporting him.
"Did I scare you? My bad..."
He leans himself on the tree, his eyes fixed at you. It was easy; he had done it countless times; the only difference was that every Bián huá before you was completely useless. You were the real deal there.
"Off, scare me! Of course! I Just...." You noticed the way that he was looking at you. It was different, from his usual way at least. "Do I...have something on my face?"
"Nah, just admiring the view."
You felt uncomfortable. You never felt uncomfortable, especially around him. Since when his eyes made you so nervous, aside from some really emotional situations? Maybe it was just you... Yeah probably!
"Sure..."
He chuckled. Were you always like this with the other monkey? Ah, it didn't surprise him that he fell hard. You were ready to be eaten...
"So! Ready to go?"
"Uh?"
"Silly One...the mission! We must go, remember?"
"But...Bajie isn't coming back. We can't just leave."
"Ah, I'm sure he's fine! Maybe he's even closer to the relic than us!"
Why did he say something like that? He and Bajie had left together; if Bajie had decided to head on, he would have said that, and why did you feel that way?
You felt something—a strange sensation. The first time you met Yuán Fèn back at the mountain, you felt like you were pulled to him; now you feel like...repulsed. You didn't feel safe...
Why were you acting in that way?
He noticed your reaction, finding you so helpless and adorable. You were so unsure... did you feel something was off? Oh gods, he hoped not; he really didn't want to get RID of such a potential one. He got closer, taking advantage of your confused state, giving you a small buffet on your cheek.
You jumped by this sudden action, gasping for the sudden move. He chuckled, putting his arm around your shoulder and literally dragging you away from the meadow.
"Came on, don't tell me that you don't trust me!"
"N-no no! I would never!"
"Then, let's go! The road is long and the day short!"
He hummed, a satisfied grin on his face, while you were fighting the urge to show him off of you and try to find Bajie by yourself. Instead, you gently lowered your head on his chest. He smiled, and his sharp nails started to scratch your head, caressing your hair.
"Don't be afraid; I'll protect you, remember?"
But you didn't care; you were listening, and something was absolutely wrong.
A few hours passed, and all this time you were obeying him, following him wherever he meant to go. You didn't know where you two were going; you didn't care ,what really motivated you was to understand.
Around, Yuán Fèn had always shown a silly side, an easy one, but it was different from this one. He knew how to separate seriousness from sillyness, and he had always this secure aura around him that made him him. Now he was...content? No, satisfied. He never looked like this, not even after he found one relic or some will; he had shown some excitement, but that face...it was his, and yet not.
But how? You did question him from time to time, and he seemed to know everything you knew!
"You okay down there?"
He takes you back to him, looking at you from behind his shoulder. Another strange thing, since he would have never left you behind without knowing that you were all right.
"Yes...yes, I was just..." You looked around, noticing then a brownish object at the base of a tree. "...Purple Lingzhi."
"Um? come again?" He stopped, looking at you, raising an eyebrow. You gulped, pointing at the small cluster of mushrooms.
"Well, Chen Loong, ask us to find some! Remember?"
He stayed silent, actually noticing the mushroom that was groowing a few feet away. He chukled, waving his hand like to apologize for the forgetfulness.
"Ah, my bad, my bad. I almost forgot!" He laughed, then started to pick the mushroom while you were reaching for that big fallen branch that you spotted a few feet away.
The Zodiac village was a bliss, no enemies, an easy way to obtain medicines...and completely hidden from every kind of eye. Last time Loong Chen had lamented that if you two brought more Purple Lingzhi to him, we would just get sick, and you and the monkey just laughed, thinking of getting nausea from that mushroom. Yuán Fèn should have known that because he was there.
That was the confirmation to your suspect: that monkey wasn't your monkey.
Slowly, you approached the impostor with the branch high in the air, ready to strike, but when your makeshift weapon fell on his head, the only thing that met was his iron grip on the wooden surface, which was cracking under the pressure. Hi sighed, slowly turning around to meet your terrified gaze with his own bored one.
"Really? It was going so well." He passed a hand in his hair, scratching his fur without thinking about your struggle to free the branch. "Okay...remember that all of this...it's your own fault."
You didn't have enough time to question; the branch was ripped from your own grip and smashed on your head. Before everything became silent, you saw his brown fur turning white and two gleamy eyes burning holes in your head.
///
Once you woke up, you found yourself with your head hurting so much that you wanted to throw up. When you tried to touch your head, you found yourself incapacitated by some ropes that circled your torso and bound your wrists together. Even breathing was hard when you had a muzzle in your mouth, stopping you to scream or talk correctly.
Pinicking, you tried to move, but your injured head stinged you and forced you to stop after a few attempts. You started to panic more when you heard footsteps coming from behind the tree where you were lying.
In front of you was a monkey, you guessed, but he was different. His fur was so white that it made him look more like a ghost; his long tail moved like a snake here and there. His piercing yellow eyes looked at you more like a nuisance than a captive that could suffer from a head trauma.
"I almost thought that I killed you. Well, better for me, it would be such a bother to wait for another Bián huá!"
He laughed it off, shrugging off the idea that he could have killed you. He tried to touch your face again, but you moved aside, disgusted. He seemed bored; he sat kneeled down in front of you, opting for a more civil way to discuss. As much as tied you up after knocking you down could be referred to as civil.
"Okay, listen up," he got closer. "I want to be nice and forgive you for your stunt. There, let's start from the beginning: I'm Liu'er Mihou! I was... well technically, I'm still the Six-Eared Macaque, just...a little broken!"
Your eyes widened after this information. No, he couldn't be! He was dead! Everybody knew that! Sun Wukong had killed him! But....broken?
"Lemme guess, I should be dead, uh? Well, I was... in some way...Wukong too, right? But here we are!" He laughed again; to him, it was just a normal conversation, like talking with a guest.
"Okay, let's talk business. As I said, I'm a little broken, but I can fix myself... but I need something that you and your friend have found."
He wanted the relic...but why?! You knew that could make someone stronger, but...
Wait...they said that the Macaque and Wukong were the reflections of each other...so if the relics were supposed to bring back the great sage...what could have happened if they were used for his shadow?
The thought made you shiver, and he saw it. You were intelligent; he liked that.
"So, you connected the dots, uh? ...good! Now we can tal-AHG!"
When his hand removed the muzzle, you took your chance to bite his hand so hard to draw some blood that you spilled immediately. He massaged his hand, acting more like he was bite by some mosquito, refusing to take you seriously again... In that moment, you felt the sharp sensation of his claw scoarching your face when his hand smacked you. The pain was so hard that you almost lost your breath, and the strength made you fall on your side, only to rise again when his hand grasped your jaw so hard that you felt your skull crush under it.
"You...have some guts; I like it...but I really don't want to rip off your jaw. So... I'll give one last chance. Help me or-"
"FUCK YOU, YOU PSYCHOPATH!"
This time, his eyes were beyond the simple annoyance. He had enough, and you didn't need to walk to come with him. Like before, you didn't even see the blow; you just heard the crack and the pain of your leg, now broken in two. Your scream was immediately strung in your mouth by his hand; he was far too annoyed by your antics, and he didn't have the intention to hear your cries either.
"See? All your fault. I don't have time for this, so..." Suddnely, he grabbed you by your hair, ignoring your cries and your lament, and your broken leg contorted in a sick angle.
"STOP! Let Me Go! PLEASE, YOU'RE HURTING ME!"
"Don't you dare complain; it's all your fault, you know? And please stop screaming; no one is coming to save you."
Suddenly, a rumble emerged from the depths of the forest, alongside a pair of red eyes and a giant mass of mussels and bristles black and strong as iron. The macaque had to lose the grip on your hair to not get invested by the fury of the boar, while the animal was able to grab you by the collar and start running faster than before.
"YOU DAMN PIG!"
You looked at that scary creature, realizing that you were never happier to see him than before. The voice of the macaque keeps echoing in the door, laughing.
"RUN AS MUCH AS YOU WANT DARLING; YOU WON'T ESCAPE ME FOR LONG!"
///
You gulped the wine in huge, big gulps, most likely to let the pain finally leave your body. Breaking up your leg was a kind of pain, but putting it together was the worst! Bajie massaged your shoulder, finishing to clean up your cheek.
"Easy, easy. You'll be able to walk for now."
You took a big breath only when you felt your leg stopping hurting. The blood started to flow again, causing a huge tingling, but it was better than before at least. You were lucky that Bajie was able to come in time; you were too afraid to think of what could have happened if you stayed longer with that monster.
"There...forgive me, Y/n I...UGH! I fell for his trap! ...I let him make this to you, and...hold on, where's the kid?!"
"I-I don't... I don't know." He helped you stand up, supporting you with his rifle. "I fear... I fear he had fallen too in one of his traps!"
"Damn, we can't stay here for too long. We must go before that...thing found us again!... What happened anyway?! Why did he attack you like this?!"
"I find out about his true identity..."
"YOU DID-" He almost dropped you but caught you immediately. "How?!"
"...promise to not freak out?"
"Hard to do, I'll try..."
"I felt it... I don't know how, but I did it! ....Am I crazy?"
At first, the pig seemed shocked... then started to laugh—a soft and kind laugh.
"No! No child! I think...you're a miracle! Back in the day, me and old Wukong needed the Buddha himself to find the truth about his true identity—and you just know! AH"
He patted your back gently and kindly. Your bond was able to defeat an ancient creature like the six-eared macaque—that was new!
"Now...we must move. Let's put that connection of yours to the test to find where that impostor had hidden the destiny done!"
And so he took his beast form, allowing you to take a seat on his back. You held on to his fur, hoping to be in time.
Spicynoodles with egged MK content.
The angst, the fluff, the hurt/comfort, all of it.
That's all I got right now.
That feel when the boy you have a crush/rivalry with is having a (literal) single-parent crisis, and he's just learned he's a primordial stone monkey that may die due to the unique process.
Red Son is confused af - when did *this* happen?! He was in a Scroll for a lot of the process, so he's a little out of the loop!
Not to mention, everyone's gut reaction is to look at them!! As if they had something to do with it!
Red Son and his family have been in more frequent contact with Sun Wukong and his protégé ever since the events surrounding the release of the Brotherhood. DBK forms an unexpected friendship with Pigsy over their shared journeys of cooking and fatherhood. The same occurs on a smaller scale with Tang and PIF getting together to gossip about immortal drama over cocktails.
The fact that Red's parents see MK's future cub as a surrogate grand-calf could be part of that. Red still blushes whenever she remembers her father's first assumptions on the matter.
MK becomes a bit of a recluse in the days after S4. Not only because of what he's learned about himself and his Egg, but because his energy is severely sapped.
At Mei's insistence, Red Son agrees to come over and spend some time with their fave monkey-boy. MK appreciates the company. The Egg absorbs so much life energy that he can barely get out of bed some days.
After a few weeks MK breaks down into hormonal tears. Sobbing into his former-enemy's jacket.
MK: "Everything I do leads to pain.... I'm sorry. You're the last person I should cry to." Red Son, rubbing MK's back: "It's ok. This is all... very new for all of us. You being the only other known celestial monkey besides Sun Wukong and Macaque has been a shock to everyone." MK, sniffling: "No. Not just that... this... I don't think I'll be able to be there for them." Red Son, stiffens: "What do you mean?" MK: "I'm..." (*gets quiet*) Red Son, thinks for a bit: "My mother does share the stories you know. How she almost died bringing me to life. To make that risk... It's admirable." MK: (*quietly leans head on Red Son's shoulder*) Red Son: "You've stated your intentions many times before to continue the pregnancy despite the risks. All I can offer is that I'm allowed to be there to see you through it." MK, looking up with surprise: "You will?" Red Son: "Yes." MK, regaining cheeky smile: "Not just because your parents are convinced it's yours?" Red Son, coughs awkwardly: "WELL uh!" *cough* "Uncle did mention that proximity to a preferred... partner, could help alleviate the worst of the symptoms caused by lack of life energy. But that the child could become peppered with the Dao of the partner and therefore their DNA..." MK, happy laughing: "I don't mind having a baby with red hair or horns, if thats what you're worried about!" Red Son: (*blushing furiously*)
So Red Son unofficially deems herself "the sire" of the Egg so she can donate her life energy to the depleted MK.
Then Season 5 happens...
MK actually manages to fight back against the restraints of the Ten Kings - his body providing a beacon of Life that they have no power over. Li Jing still handles the pregnant creature roughly, father or not - he sees MK as a beast that needs to be tamed. Nezha growls at his father's actions, and quickly comes to MK's aid - declaring his duty as a Protector of Children (although stretching the definition considering said child could be MK himself or the unborn cub) to preside over Li Jing's orders.
Somehow, knowing about his Egg, makes MK even more self-sacrificial. Because in his mind; if his Stone Egg is going to kill him anyway - why not sacrifice himself to repair the Heavenly Pillar?
Everyone reacts even worse than in canon.
The Nine-Headed Demon certainly didn't expect the Harbinger to "sprout off" so soon! They tease and prod MK - pointing out that he's accomplishing something not even the Monkey King has done; have a child of his own.
Wukong and Macaque snarl and bite at the snake for that comment...
Xiangliu is kept busy from trying to stop multiple heroes and anti-villains from tearing him apart.
Wukong can't even bring himself to fight MK's sacrifice, only able to hang onto his successor in a desperate hold. Begging him to please think of himself. His family and friends! His Egg even!
But MK still makes that leap.
Upon entering Nüwa's sanctuary within the Pillar and learning that his sacrifice was to only upkeep a destructive cycle, MK... has the expected reaction.
MK: "You expect me to sacrifice myself to when my kid won't even live to see the world?!" Nüwa, surprised: "I... I will admit. I had not known you would be able to do that."
After hearing her Harbinger's tearful plea, the goddess can only smile and sigh.
Although the safest option is to continue the cycle, she knows any child of her blood or clay would not dare leave the world or people they love so dearly. Heavens weep when a mother/father sets their mind to something. Something she struggled with many eons ago...
She gives her Little Heaven the Five Stones and the instructions for how to split their powers evenly across the cosmos. Humanity has certainly increased in number since her time!
She also gives blessings to her future grand-creation! The little stone monkey will be the first born naturally since Sun Wukong after all. She can spare a blessing or two to ensure their safe arrival!
MK leaves the Pillar, seeing his friends and family clasped together - all believing that the world was truly coming to an end.
Red Son, emboldened by the coming apocalypse, suddenly declares something that's been on his mind for a while now.
Red Son: "I like-like you, noodle boy! I did not lie when I said I want to be by your side through it all! If the world is to end now, I do not wish for it to end without saying I wish we could have been courting!" MK, touched: "Aww!!! Thats really sweet, Red Son! But I actually have a plan to save the world!" Red Son, stuttering: "Oh um. Ok?" MK: "I totally reciprocate the feelings though!" Red Son, excited: "You do!?" Macaque, interrupting: "Excuse me, lovebirds. End of the world?" MK, fumbling the five stones: "OH YEAH! RIGHT!"
The stones are still destroyed, and the Queen Mother of Heaven watches as the power her husband harboured for so long spreads across the universe like petals on the wind.
It takes some time for MK's egg to be fully ready, so him and Red Son have some time to do some courting before the little guy arrives!
PIF and DBK totally called it.
Also it turns out harbouring the Five Heavenly Stones while pregnant has some... unexpected effects on the Stone Egg within...
The Whole Family: "..." Baby: (*eyes glowing with a rainbow shimmer*) Baby: *chirp*! Pigsy: "Why does my grandson look like a Lisa Frank drawing?" MK: (*tired shrug*) Mei, taking photos: "He's so pretty!!"
The baby is named "Haoyu - the "Vast Universe/浩宇" to MK's "Little Heaven/小天". Depending on the characters it can also mean "cloudburst/豪雨" aka an unexpected rain.
hi!! i'm pretty new to hypnosis mic and have found your blog through your manga translation archive a month ago. i genuinely admire your work and hope you feel well right now or will feel well. can you translate fighter's road at some point? thank you :D
Sure thing! Under a cut for length
I assume this was requested because the anon wants information on the various references and allusions in the song. So I'll keep to a literal slant (adding words when necessary to avoid confusion-inducing sentence fragments) and leave a metric shit ton of footnotes. Please note this is not an exhaustive list of allusions, particularly in terms of visuals.
Here's the video to follow along.
It is also helpful to know that each character is dressed like someone from classical Chinese epic Journey to the West. Gentarou is Sha Wujing, Dice is Zhu Baije, Ramuda is Sun Wukong, Jakurai is Tang Sanzang, and Doppo and Hifumi are collectively the White Dragon Horse.
Jakurai: And thus have I heard [1] the theory of evolution [2] is current once more! Your journey is not yet over--inside all that darkness, all that wickedness in your soul, there's still a chance to shape up. Better yourself! Spread your wings and fly to heaven! [3]
Hifumi: It's me, Gigolo, coming in like Ryuujin [4] swooping down from the skies. What time did you all get here? Say what? I don't understand a bit of it--your lame ninjutsu [5] is all nonsense to me! [6]
Doppo: One step, two steps, three--here comes the Doppo [7] horse. Yeah, that's right, tense up. Hey, where do you think you're going? Don't try to hide in the shadows, and watch out, because these hindquarters have a kick! [8] I've been through my fair share of battles [9], but you guys are just amateurs by comparison.
Gentarou: If you ask me, you're not worth our time[10]--just a few wannabe rappers bumbling around in the dark. [11] If you want to take us on before you're ready and get washed away by my flow [12], that's your prerogative. You're just an illusion that wouldn't exist without light. [13]
Dice: Here's some advice from Dice: I'm a rare breed [14]; I've got more luck and skill than I know what to do with. But you wouldn't know how to handle it. Sharing with you the thrills I seek is casting pearls before swine. [15] You're just acting tough when you've got no rap skill to speak of.
Ramuda: Waah, waah! [16] Who's crying now? This is just a minor monkey's obstacle [17] before my main goal. 'Cause life got in the way, and oopsy, I took a bit of a fall. [18] But now I've set off again. Yeah, I've had a few setbacks along the way, but I don't let it get me down! I keep on keeping on, and now I'm flying through the sky on my cloud! [19]
All: Catch this sick flow! Suffering and Buddhist training; to the east, west, and the east again. Fighter's road! [20] (Fighter's road) Fighter's road! (Fighter's road) A journey of the spirit through the power housed in words [21]; forging new paths. Fighter's road! (Fighter's road) Fighter's road! (Fighter's road)
As we encounter hardships along this road, we'll take each other's hands and keep going. Fighter's road! (Fighter's road) Fighter's road! (Fighter's road) Casting off our mud-stained clothes; you gotta understand that now there's a light worth fighting for on this fighter's road! (Fighter's road) Fighter's road!
Try this drop! [22]
[23]
[1] This is a common sutra opening.
[2] "evolution" is synonymous with growth, so less literally this is like "There's always room for growth!" The "theory" part is there for the rhyme.
[3] Not Christian heaven; consider it more like mystical divinity or the dwelling place of the gods.
[4] An ocean god.
[5] Come on, you've all seen Naruto, you should know what this is. Broad term for ninja moves. Hifumi's saying the opponent's "moves," maneuvers, or raps--I don't remember the context of this episode--suck ass.
[6] Literally "nenbutsu in our ears." An outrageous pun. "[Reciting the] nenbutsu, a Buddhist mantra, in a horse's ear" is a proverb similar to English's "casting pearls before swine"--the horse gets no value out of the nenbutsu. As Hifumi is currently in a horse costume, he's the referenced horse getting nothing out of the opposing team's raps.
[7] Kanji joke. Doppo's name also has the kanji for "step" in it.
[8] Again, please remember that Doppo is in the horse costume.
[9] Another outrageous pun. Literally "a thousand warriors and ten thousand horses" which, in this case, refers to someone who's "fought" a ton of metaphorical battles. Normally, one assumes this metaphorical veteran is fighting the thousand warriors, but perhaps Doppo's boasting of defeated ten thousand other pairs in horse costumes...
[10] Literally, "a kappa fart." This image should evoke a slight bubble in a river at most--the kappa is presumably underwater. Note that Gentarou sings this by a river.
[11] Referencing the previous verse's bit about hiding in the shadows. Also, ninjas. But not good ninjas, because these ninja-rappers are lost in the darkness.
[12] Also being washed away literally by the river. I am making an assumption that he means "by my [rap's] flow" based on both the chorus and basic word association. The word used for "washed away" here is actually a noun containing the noun for "flow," so virtually any Japanese reader will put two-and-two together.
[13] This is partially just for the rhyme/"yooo Gentarou said the i-word" factor, but it's also going back to the idea of ninjas and shadows. A shadow can't be cast without light kind of vibes.
[14] The word he uses here is partially just for rhyme and partially to evoke the image of an exotic or mythical animal.
[15] Literally. This is a proverb Japanese borrows from English, and as such it usually has a more Western feel than would be appropriate for this song. But it rhymes, and pearl is one of the Eight Treasures and often included in lists of "traditionally Eastern" gemstones. So it still fits. In this part of the video, you can see the other team trapped in pearls.
[16] Yet another outrageous pun. Ramuda--who, again, is dressed like Sun Wukong or the monkey king--spells his crying noises with the kanji for monkey.
[17] More puns. A "monkey's obstacle" is the name of a mushroom, although the mushroom's name means "a monkey's seat."
[18] Right before he falls, he references a nursery rhyme about that same mushroom mentioned above: Monkey's seat/Sit down!/Sit down now!/The monkey plops down with a/BUMP! Ramuda brings it up here to tie into him falling down, ie. having a setback, and also to reinforce the monkey angle.
[19] In Journey to the West, Sun Wukong learns how to somersault from cloud to cloud to cover huge distances very quickly. This is usually depicted in art as cloud(s) carrying him. In the video, Ramuda's got... a skateboard...? reminiscent of his staff. Sun Wukong's staff flies too, although turning into a flying skateboard is a new trick haha.
[20] It's fair to assume "fighter's road" should evoke the image of a literal road and also a tao in the sense of a way of living or being.
[21] Kotodama is the concept that certain words or phrases contain magical or spiritual power. Hypmic references this constantly to refer to the force the mics imbue in their raps or, occasionally, the figurative power of words to effect major change.
[22] Drop of...what? Outside of Ramuda's usual association with the word "drops," the video shows him blowing a hair to make lots of little flying Ramuda clones. This is one of Sun Wukong's many powers. So... drop of hair? Drop of spit? (Sun Wukong sometimes spits on the hairs.) Given the shot just before this and the importance of light/shadow imagery in this song, I could also see an argument for a "drop" of light. Light is usually treated as a liquid in Japanese imagery.
"Try this" should be more like "Take that!" or "Try this on for size."
[23] The anime version of the song ends here, but it looks like there a few more choruses in the full version. Most of it repeats what's said elsewhere in the song, but the new text is as follows:
Searching for the true purest of hearts, come on!
Let me hear your voices, yo! Come on, brothers!
Posse! Matenrou! We've still got it in us to walk the rest of this road!
A pox upon uta-net.com for not letting me copy/paste those...
Yesss, the boys be crying again
The Sun and His World (Wukong & MK Fluff)
Wukong was always a bright and cheeky monkey. Most scripts would proclaim that he never frowned unless wrong upon, and through history, it was Wukong's smile that prevailed through all. As much as Wukong would love hold up to that bit of legacy, he simply just...couldn't right now.
The world was dull and grey; nothing was wrong, but at the same time, nothing felt right either.
Waking up was a burden, a chore that Wukong rarely struggled with. Yet, on days like this, Wukong found his body heavy and tired, riddled with pains of his past and the deep ache in his chest that never seemed to leave. Centuries of living through those dead moments never got easier; in fact, it only made his immortality a curse than a blessing.
The king, however, never missed out of his duties. While his bed called out to him, Wukong couldn't neglect his citizens. They always cheered him up a bit either way.
Wukong slowly left his bed, his thoughts static in his brain.
He should eat, but...Nothing seemed appealing, so the immortal king left his home, eager to cross off each item on his list so he can be alone with his thoughts and no one else. He never enjoyed it when anyone saw any more than the smile he always had on his face.
The best thing about having immortal subjects was that they knew when their king wasn't at his greatest. They made his day easier, being less louder, more agreeable with each other. It warmed Wukong's heart, and for a moment, the sun's rays were brighter, full of life. The hours passed slowly, and Wukong was buried in a pile of monkeys that chirped quietly to each other, nearly lulling their king to sleep.
In his sleep, no dreams came, a hidden blessing that Wukong embraced. Yet, the itching feeling, the pulling at his chest of his struggles, they taunted him, yelled at the monkey for his greed and naivety.
"Monkey King?"
His thoughts were his worst enemy, and one he couldn't defeat.
"Monkey kiiiing."
They wormed their way through his confidence, threatening to pull away strings that held his facade together.
"Where are--oh!"
While dreams would torment him, Wukong rather his past remind him of the lessons he's learned, than the void of his thoughts remind him of the mistakes he's made.
"Monkey King!"
Wukong opened his eyes, irritation flickering through him briefly as he lowered his gaze to see who interrupted his brooding session.
"Oh," Wukong hummed, jumping down the tree. "Hey, kid, what's up?"
"I was just checking in." MK beamed at the stone monkey, more warmth filling Wukong. "I haven't seen you all day, so I just wanted to see how you were doing."
"Ah, I've been--" Good? No, Wukong was trying practice communicating better. That's what Wujing's current self had taught him. Wise man, Wukong thought fondly. "Better?"
"Oh," MK's eyebrows furrowed, worry replacing the bright sun that was his former expression. "Well, do you want to talk about it, or...?"
Ah, the kid was going to actually kill Wukong with that kindness one day.
"No, no." Wukong chuckled, knowing the extent of his issues couldn't be solved with a conversation this time. "It's just--you know--one of those days."
"Oh, yeah." MK smiled softly, understanding with the barest hint of sorrow that Wukong wished to annihilate. "Well, Pigsy always like hang around with me when I have those days. Maybe...You would like some company too?"
Wukong's eyes widened, a stab through his heart, skewering it in place. Gods, Wukong was actually going to die this time around.
With a chuckle and newly found lightness in his chest, Wukong sighed. "You know what, bud? That sounds great."
"I think company is just what I need right now." Wukong wrapped an arm around MK-- who in turn, leaned into the touch-- leading the two of them to Wukong's cabin.
Okay, so, I know a lot of people were discouraged after the LMK S5 trailer. The art is different, yes, but remember there are still people working behind the screen; passionate about this story they're trying to tell. To rebuild faith and re-spark hope, I'm going through the trailer frame by frame and sharing anything cool I find. (There is some (what I hope is) constructive criticism in here, but I would like to reiterate something other fans have said. DO. NOT. HARRASS. ANYONE. WORKING. ON. THE. SHOW. They're doing their best with what they have available to them. We're lucky Wildbrain decided to pick the show back up because if they hadn't, we may not have gotten the rest of the story.)
They've been brought in front of the council to discuss their car's extended warranty. ALSO WHERE IS MK'S JACKET AND BANDANA? THEY WHOLE ASS PROBABLY SNATCHED THIS POOR BOY OUT OF HIS BED WHILE HE WAS SLEEPING
Don't worry, babygirl, I still think you're pretty ^3^
Okay, they gave him his clothes back, phew.
Hehe, tiny monkies.
At least our child is still adorable.
Synchronized heart attack.
He is so traumatized, lol. Someone brought up how this design for the circlet wasn't the previously established design in the show, but it COULD be based on the design used on the cover of the Journey to the West novel (as seen below)
It's not exactly the same but the shape is similar.
Anyway.
WUKONG ANGST WUKONG ANGST WUKONG ANGST
I'm realizing while doing this that Wildbrain doesn't use as many smear frames as Flying Bark did. As funny as it is to pause and see something like this in season 1-4:
It makes the animation look a LOT smoother and more energetic. Flying Bark also seems to use more frame-by-frame while Wildbrain probably uses more tweening. I suppose it makes sense though because Wildbrain is more used to 3D animation and the 2D animation they have done in the past is more paper-doll-like and doesn't need as much bounce and action.
Back to the trailer, no need to dwell.........
MO. HANG IN THERE.
MONKEY ANGST MONKEY ANGST MONKEY ANGST aposhdgpafoshdfosfapsdofpa
Oooh, wait, this frame actually kinda goes hard. I'm kinda hyped... I should draw this.
NO BRO DON'T MAKE ME CRY JUST BECAUSE OF A TRAILER
You know what this makes me think of...? Did any of you guys ever play that game called "Journey"?
It's a beautiful game with beautiful music. Y'all should play it if you haven't. Oh, and sometimes if you're playing at the same time as someone else in the world, your games will merge and you get a little play buddy :3
Genuinely love how distressed he is here.
SHADOWPEACH ANGST SHADOWPEACH ANGST
Looks like we're still gonna get cool backgrounds and background character designs!!!!
This looks like it may be some kind of storybook or memory sequence like when Chang'e was talking about how she found the ring in S3 or when LBD was talking about Macaque's death... what memory do you think we're going to be exploring this time?
This goes pretty hard. I would paint this on a wall or something.
Mk is flabbergasted.
Yay!! Mk has the support he needs. ALSO MORE SANDY
They're mortified. Probably because they just watched a giant dragon and white tiger fucking evaporate.
Hehe bord
I can't wait to see fanart of him. I'm so excited!
SHADOWPEACH SHADOWPEACH SHADOWPEACH
He's thinking about kissing him, honest.
I think he's purty
MORE PIGSY-
I've run out of room for pictures, but I hope this helped get y'all all hyped again for the new season! Have hope, stay strong!
@lara-legomonkiekid
What If, somebody attacked monkey Y/N and she didn't tell Monkey King But he finds out anyway.
This is a part 2 to when Monkey Queen (Y/N) got revenge 😈😈😈ca
Believe it or not you're the most merciful between the tool of you so You know I don't feel sorry for that somebody at all😈🔪😈🔪😈🔪
(Lmk Wukong) You were attacked by one of your husband's enemies. They couldn't defeat him, so they went after you instead. of course, that was a mistake on their part since you beat the c*** out of them before they ran off. Of course, they got a few heads on you, too. So all you did was just bandage up you at injuries. You weren't gonna tell what's wrong about this because while you took care of it already. But when he went to go greet you, he's saw the bandages and he may be oblivious, but he's not stupid.
(Lmk Wukong) (Y/N) do you think you can tell me what happened???😠😠😠
Oh sh*t the fact that he actually called By your name instead of peaches you know how serious it is
Monkey Queen (Y/N) It's nothing dear just got into a scuffle
He raises an eyebrow at you before giving you his dark look
(Lmk Wukong)(Y/N)👿👿👿
You squeaked a bit before telling him everything from where you were to when the attack happened and who attacked. He sat in complete silence as he listened to every word. You said before telling you to rest on the couch and leaving the house. He came back later with the decapitated head of the demon that attacked you. He mountin it next to the one you got. Ah romance🥰🥰🥰
(MK Reborn Wukong) Oh man, this is bad worse than that. You've got it to fight with one of your husband's enemies. And, of course, you fought them off before they ran. But you got seriously injured in the process. Although it's nothing worse than what you could possibly gotten it's still gonna be tricky to hide this from him. You covered yourself in ointments and bandages. Then, put on your robe to hide them. That should deter him from noticing anything different. Too bad it's not that easy, and he's not an idiot. He smelled blood the second He saw you and demanded that you tell him what happened. Of course, you're gonna do yet another argument before. Finally telling him what happened and who attacked you. to He was deadly angry was a severe understatement. You'd never seen him like this well. That's kind of a lie, but this is different. He had blood red eyes, and smoke was coming out of his nose and ears. He then tells you the weight right where you are before storming off. All i'm going to say is he came back covered and blood.
(HIB Wukong) You had protected Liuer from some rowdy demons but not without getting injured. You had begged him not to tell your husband about what happened to you. Answer: Just say that you were we playing too rough and stuff. Liuer felt horrible about lying to the king, but he didn't say anything. When you both met Wukong, he had asked what happened then, and you told them that he would. You guys had a bit of rough housing. What you didn't expect was for Liuer. I'm too burst crying to your husband about what happened and how you got hurt protecting him. You just sat their and stared as the monkey king listened to the small boy's story. Then he slowly turned his head to look at you. As you basically just lied to his face. You both are definitely gonna talk about honesty right after he puts the demons who attack you into an early grave.
(Nezha Reborn wukong) Li, and you got attacked by some street thug who claimed that you were on their turf. Of course, Li didn't want any unnecessary trouble. But you weren't about to let some pathetic demons tell you what to do. So So you guys fought in battle and won, but at the expense of your dislocated shoulder and bruised face But you were happy. Then you told Li not to tell your husband about what happened tonight as you handle you guys's injuries. And he agreed, except your husband was more observant than you thought. He interrogated Li about his injuries, and He lied telling him it was from sparring, but that could be because Wukong spars with him the most, and Li is deathly afraid of the idea of fighting you. Finally, Li spelled the beans about the attack. And how you basically force them not to tell Wukong about what happened on the count of you already taken care of it. Wukong just shook his head before saying bye to Li and gone home. First, he's gonna make you tell him exactly what he heard earlier from Li and finally to go make those thug demons wish they were never born.
(Netflix Wukong) Oh no, oh no, you remember him getting incredibly unhinged in his battles. Once he finds out that some nobody goes and attacks you. Oh, you don't want to think about it. So you quickly patched yourself up and covered yourself in as many clothes as possible. But what you forgot about us is how you twisted your ankle during the fight. And let me tell you, it looks bad. You can hardly walk on it, but you're gonna have to burn your teeth and walk through the pain. Because you can't afford your husband to find out about this, it would be a blood bath. Now, due to his naive nature, it might be easy to hide it for him. But later that day, you slipped off and yelped when he hugged your leg. And that's when he noticed your swollen ankle.
(Netflix Wukong)(Y/N) what Happened
When you finish telling him what happened, his eyes turn bloody red before storming out the house. This is exactly what you were afraid of. Hopefully, you can get the blood out of his shirt like last time😥😥😥
Feel free to reblog
Down Came the Rain and Washed the Bone Out...
Summary: Instead of fire, rain comes down.
Notes: So, look. I know the Samadhi fire was a way to make Xiaojiao more important to the story. I just think it was a dumb idea to use the Samdhi fire for that, considering the fact that dragons can control the weather and Guanyin's vase was mentioned in S2.
-_-
Long Xiaojiao was not having a good time.
Who was kidding her, she was having the worst time. Her body ached like someone had set all of her veins on fire, her bestie probably had a concussion, she was far from home, and Macaque was threatening one of her favorite old men with her own life. And there was still no sign of Sun Wukong.
“I don’t have time for this!” Macaque barked, the cold from the crystal biting into her skin like so many knives. “Tang, finish the ritual! Now!”
“...Alright,” Tang said, reluctance firm in his voice. He began to chant ancient words, each word sitting heavy like the cling of a bell. Slowly, the symbols decorating the ritual site began to glow brighter and brighter, almost blinding.
With each word, her body ached even more. “No! Please!” She struggled, but Macaque’s grip tightened, keeping her suspended in the air despite the pain roaring inside her. “I- I wanna get off this ride! PLEASE! I DON’T WANT TO-”
“MACAQUE!”
Sun Wukong’s voice echoed through the mountains. Xiaojiao could barely hear him, faintly noticing the rings glow magenta and lift up. Tang’s voice continued on, steady and strong despite the panic he must’ve been feeling and the pain that continued to grow and grow. She could hear it, the last bit of the spell-
Wukong launched for Macaque, and the pain of something- something rising up, in her- grew too much-
Xiaojiao threw back her head and screamed as it ripped out, the Samadhi fire whole as something uncorked inside-
And the rain came down.
Xiaojiao felt herself collapse as Wukong slammed into Macaque. She didn’t notice, too busy panting, blinking as the rain fell down. “XIAOJIAO!” Oh, Xiaotian. He was here. She allowed him to prop her up, his worried smile a balm to her stressed nerves. “Are you okay? You- is this you?”
Xiaojiao blinked again as she looked around. Wukong and Macaque had been scuffling, but now they stared as the rain hit the crystal embedded in the shadow monkey’s side. Wherever the rain touched, it shrank back like water dissolving snow until it was gone, leaving Macaque to stare at his hands like he wasn’t sure what they were. The Samadhi fire was aglow in the center, but it was dim, nothing more than embers.
“I think so?” she managed. “I thought…I thought I would have the Samadhi fire in me.” Wasn’t that what her visions had been saying?
“I assumed you would too,” And there was Wukong, staring at her like he was either about to break down laughing or crying and wasn’t sure which to do. He held out his hand in the end. Xiaojiao took it, letting him lift her up. “As far as I know, Ao Lie had the piece embedded in him and made me promise not to tell anyone.”
“You should have.” And there was Li Nezha, staring at the entire scene like he also wasn’t sure whether to break down laughing or crying. “How is the rain doing this? When you asked the Dragon Kings for a storm when Red Boy burned down the valley, it made the fire worse?” It had? Xiaojiao glanced nervously at the fire, but it was still just embers.
Wukong raised a brow, glancing at her like she knew. “I have no idea.” Xiaojiao shrugged back. As far as she knew, dragons did have control over the weather, but her line was so far from that. He cupped his hands and let some rain pour in before taking a drink. His eyes went wide. “How are you doing this?”
“The rain?”
“No, the water. It’s from Guanyin’s ocean.” She could hear Tang gasp- Red Boy must’ve been the demon he had told Xiaotian about, the one that Wukong needed Guanyin’s vase to defeat.
“What?” Nezha said before Xiaojiao could react to that. “That’s impossible.”
“Drink some. It’s sweet.”
Nezha, after a moment, cupped his hands. Xiaojiao pulled off her gloves and cupped her hands as well, letting some of her rain (and, wow, she had made rain) puddle in. She drank it once she was done, noticing Xiaotian do the same without removing his gloves.
And Wukong was right. The rain tasted sweet and clear. Not like the fancy bottled water one of her cousins liked, full of fancy purified spring water, but just… sweet. As Xiaojiao swallowed, she felt whatever aches and pains that remained fade away. Xiaotian’s bruises, including one dark one that covered half of his face, slowly disappeared. "Look at the city!" Sandy called from the edge. "The crystal's all melting away!"
Xiaotian turned and gasped, eyes shining as he looked down at the city far below. The screams had died down, but Xiaojiao's eyes were more focused on Macaque. Anger burned in her chest just from the sight of him. He looked up from studying his hands and made eye contact with her. She could practically see him jolt in realization that she was there, staring at him.
And, like it was all part of his plan, he grinned, bowed, and ducked into a shadow.
"Coward," she huffed to herself, just wanting to pull out her sword and skewer him with it. Maybe he would come back- he couldn't seem to leave Wukong or Xiaotian alone.
"Oh!" She glanced over at Xiaotian's gasp. "Your face!" he said, drawing closer and cupping her face with gentle hands.
"What? Do I have mud somewhere?" The area was getting pretty muddy and, mixed with the snow, it looked like an unappetizing mush. She wuldn’t be surprised if she accidentally kicked some on herself in the rain haze. "Do I have mud on my face? I do, don't I?"
"No, no," His gaze was reverent in a way that made her entire face warm. She was so glad Xiaotian agreed to be her 'just in case' husband. But, her concern was what was on her face. "You have scales."
"I what?" She didn’t have scales. Her parents had to disappoint a very young Xiaojiao that her human form would never have scales. But, now?
“Look!" He pulled out his phone and pulled up the camera, turning on selfie mode. And there, in the glow of the lanterns, Xiaojiao realized he was right. White scales, jade green coloring the edge, lined her eyes and trailed back to her ears and down to her chin. Even cooler was the set of antler horns that now jutted out from her pigtails. She grinned, admiring her teeth, which even seemed to be a little sharper.
She was a member of the dragons, yes. But sometimes, she didn't feel like it, especially with the forming rift between her and her parents. Now, however, she never felt more powerful. She couldn't help but bare her teeth in a grin and Xiaotian wasted no time in snapping a photo.
"Oh!" Tang and Pigsy had come close, probably just to check on them. As the pig demon led Xiaotian back a step to hug his son, Tang cupped her face. He thankfully looked better than at the beginning of the ritual, with the bruises that he said came from Macaque gone in the purified rain, but still guilty. He cupped her face, leaning forward to press their foreheads together. "You look amazing, Xiaojiao."
“Thanks, Tangy.”
"You did great, Xiaojiao," Wukong's voice interrupted the moment, drawing her back to the fact that, oh yeah, he hadn't left, unlike Macaque. "I was worried for a second that the entire mountain was gonna light up in fire and I forgot to bring some purified water just in case." Nezha gaped from behind him, right next to Sandy, who probably had a full lecture on how dangerous that was. Xiaojiao had heard enough lectures about wildfires when she and her family had gone ‘camping’ in the United States. "So," He clapped his hands together. "Thank you."
"Was this part of your plan?" Xiaojiao had to ask. She had a sinking feeling, that, no it wasn't, but she had to ask. "What even was your plan?" Her anger rose. "Did you know I had the Samadhi fire piece in me?!"
"Well, uh..." Wukong sighed. "Yes."
That was enough to unchain the anger inside.
"And you hid it from all of us! Why?! What were you afraid of?!" It was unfair and cruel, but Xiaojiao was furious. She only faintly noticed the rain stop, answering to the heat of her fury, and heard Pigsy push Xiaotian back and away. Good, she didn’t need him jumping in to defend the oh-so-mighty Sun Wukong like he had been the entire trip. "That you were going to have to tear me apart to get your precious Samadhi Fire?!"
Wukong threw his hands up immediately, shaking his head furiously. "No! I thought if I could get the Samadhi fire out of you, without hurting you of course. Then I could put it inside myself." He gestured to his chest, right where Ao Lie’s piece must’ve gone. She could imagine the pain that would happen from that. "Then I don't know, use it to burn up the Lady Bone Demon or something? I was kinda making this up as I went-"
"That was your plan?!"
"That's not a good plan!"
Nezha and Xiaotian's yells did nothing to calm her. Instead, she was imagining Wukong or even Xiaotian throwing their head back with a pained scream as the Samadhi fire sank into them, just like she had only a few minutes ago. It was enough to make her want to throw up.
"Yeah, to be honest, this is the first time I've said it out loud, so..." Wukong shrugged, like it was normal to attempt to put a world-ending fire inside himself.
"We trusted you! All of us! How could you lead us into this fight without a real plan?!” She launched forward, slamming her finger into his chest. “Time and time again, I've watched you put Xiaotian in danger, leaving him to figure everything on his own! Don't you realize you're hurting the people who care about you the most?!"
Her answer was a blank stare.
Xiaojiao felt a sense of unease crawl over her. She was pretty sure that, if the Samadhi fire had worked like expected, Wukong would have had more of a reaction. "You...you do know that we care about you, right?" She thought they had bonded even through her unease about the seeming lack of plan and her own thoughts about him leaving Xiaotian behind.
It was then that she realized Nezha was shaking his head and mouthing "No."
Wukong finally spoke, although he seemed to ignore her question, and Nezha shaking his head. "Now that the Samadhi fire is summoned, you guys head back." He headed to the embers. Despite the wet embers, something gleamed like a star. "I'll handle this."
"What- No!" Xiaojiao launched forward, suddenly determined to make him listen. "Didn't you just hear me?! You- We need to make a real plan-" Her rain could melt the crystal. She could weaken the Lady Bone Demon.
He whirled around so fast that Xiaojiao was knocked off guard. He gripped her shoulders tight, tight enough that Xiaojiao felt tears prick her eyes, and forced her back.
It wasn't until her waist was buried in mud that he realized he was forcing her down.
His eyes burned into her soul, much hotter than the flames. "I know you guys have a problem listening. But please, stay the fuck here. For your own safety." Pigsy and Tang rushed toward her as Xiaotian rushed towards Wukong, begging him to stay and listen.
But he didn't look back, not until he was picking up that star. His smile was soft, just for Xiaotian in that moment. It was there, Pigsy trying to lift her up and yelling for Sandy as Tang clawed through the mud, that she realized that he did care.
Too much.
"I'm sorry, kid."
He pushed the star inside his chest and summoned his Nimbus cloud before the magenta flames could alight. And then he was gone, leaving a trail of purple and gold.
And there, Xiaojiao threw her head back and screamed.
Lightning was the only thing that answered.
HE IS STILL GETTING MORE EMPATHETIC. I'M GLAD
Rip, there goes this Lion's teeth
Wukong: I only see ONE person crying over me IT SHOULD BE ALL THREE OF YOU! Wujing is giving off such youngest sibling vibes, blaming Bajie without hesitation
Ahhh, the family reunion I love to see.... violence
HE SO SAD! Falls to the FLOOR crying! Sanzang finding out that Bajie was wrong and apologizes to Wukong for doubting him like
Even Wujing being humbled
Wukong: They are three brother, but we are three BETTER brother. It's called Teamwork
We really do get a Wukong vs Lion and now a Bajie vs Elephant fight
Love! Wukong, that little prankster. Deadly prank but still
SANZANG STILL WORRIED BAJIE LOST NOOOOO
IM LAUGHING PLEASE
WUKONG JUST WANTED TO TAKE HIS MONEY! HE BULLY THE PIG MAN
I found the Sazang one, where I think they were fighting the Python Demon and Wukong was pranking Bajie again
I was wrong about Wujing saying something like bond but I did recall this just being a sweet moment between the three
I like that even to Demons, Sanzang wants to spare their lives
Lion being the smartest here cause he just wanted to let them go Peng at taking that
Also love to see Sanzang saying thank you as he should
HE REALLY DID
Poor Wukong got tricked as well.... though they were smarter than that
Wukong's first city of demons ooooooo
They being so polite but YALL STILL GOING TO EAT HIM LIKE BRUH
Refrencing this post: https://www.tumblr.com/autism-autobot/778294282527424512/erlang-to-li-jing-if-you-ever-upset-him-i-will?source=share
It gave me a thought, and now I'm suspicious. I might just be overthinking, but
I'm starting to think they should put Mac on watch, too. He always seem all too eager to pick fights with opponents he knows he won't win against just because he can or they gave him the excuse to. Though it might be more passive, subconscious, if you will. Like, I don't think he realizes it either. i can definitely imagine while going through the type of identity crisis he is, he wouldn't have the best grasp on the will to exist. I'm starting to see that despite once being seen as cowardly or overly cautious as an individual, he actually is really bad at it when he grows to care about someone, for better or for worse. He's quick to lose his temper, and all self-preservation flies out the window at any given moment. Also, something about his habit of flying off the handle when even the thought of harm coming to his "person" feels... trained... I mean, he could just be lashing out at the uncomfy thought of losing his current favorite person, but eh, the triggers seem too specific.
*Glances back at him getting jumped and immediately trying to brush off how scary it must have been for him. Is aurguably the most chill about what happened and was more shaken by how much Jing cared* The blatant disregard for his well-being in the name of loved ones is lowkey uncomfy, is he okay???
Like, I know this au is about Wukong's healing, and Mac was a bad guy to begin with, but are any of the people that still care noticing the kinda attack dog behavior? Was that there before his death in this au, or is this post lbd trauma?
ALSO, Monkey starts crying during every conversation about how Jing cares and LIKES having him around! The constant need for reassurance. The immediate tears and hopeful disbelief when told that even when he's doing nothing or actively being a pain he's still wanted and useful?! *insert The Rock eyebrow raise image* Little dude REEKS of self hatred and insecurity! If there's one thing I've learned in high-school its that someone doesn't need to be actively aware and/or SH to be passively suicidal.
This doesn't have to be canon, just some theories and thoughts that pop up now and then while reading.
- @fruit-fight
*Adds to list of "I wasn't doing this on purpose, but it makes too much sense to not be canon."* *the list is extensive*
Tw: suicide, self-harm, death mentions,
Macaque is going through it all throughout FloaPS so far, even if he doesn't seem like it on surface level.
Nezha is the one who picks up on it and tells his father because he's seen Wukong do the same thing. In his experience, people who've lost everything they ever cared about and maybe even themselves in the process can and might act in reckless and violent ways to keep what little they have left, if anything.
Nezha gets very worried once he realizes it because, unlike Wukong, Macaque doesn't have any illnesses or ailments holding him down and preventing him from seeking out methods; of what exactly Nezha isn't sure yet. With his shadow teleportation, he's even harder to keep in or out of places.
Macaque wasn't like that prior to dying. He was aggressive, sure, but not in a self sacrificial way. It was more about controlling and commanding those around him, at least the ones he felt like he could control. He used to play his cards very close to his chest. A lot can happen behind closed doors, and even DBK isn't entirely certain how low Macaque stooped.
LBD did massive damage to him. Even his personality is different from how it used to be without very much explanation as to why. Not that very many people remember what he used to be like beforehand.
Li Jing doesn't press the matter immediately, but he does get more worried about Macaque and keeps a closer eye on him.
Lego monkie kid: the characters.
youtube
Before we start, I want to say this is the only post I will make about Mikaila's takes and video, and you can quote me on that. Alright we got? Good.
Also, quick side note this is the video where they stole from an artist, then proceeded to call them a cunt. Also Also they did a great job showing overly sarcastic production and giving them credit, but I guess it was just too hard to credit an artist whose piece was apparently shit.
For the most part, she is right about the show. Unlike Lily, she didn't lie about parts of the show. It's fun. The animation is amazing, and there are points you will actually start crying or even thinking more about yourself, but where she stumbled is the characters. Mostly with Mr. Tang, Red son, Macaque, and the rest of the demons.
First off, she kinda just brushes over Mr. Tang and by brushing over, I mean not even a name drop. Mr. Tang is not forgettable. Mr. Tang is kinda the exhibition guy he's the one to fill you in loosely about what happened in JTW to help make sense of what's happening in that scene. For example, when the gang plus Red Son has to go to the court of heaven to help deal with the spider demons, Tang is telling them what they need and where to find them. Mr. Tang is that dad who is there to tell his kids about history. He's also just really fun to watch.
She brings up Macaque as a character that is also there, which is ignoring Macaque. Now, she says that she didn't really care for him, which is fair, but she's writing him off as just some guy that shows up and dips, but that ignores how he was sitting in the back of Wukong and MK's mind. MK was genuinely scared of him and Wukong having to come face to face with the friend he betrayed and killed. Macaque is that old-school villain who is there to intimate the hero.
And now to the villains of the story. The Saturday morning villains who asked for extra ham on their ham and cheese sandwich. I agree with the fact that the villains are super fun to watch, she's talks about the bull demon family but, more specifically, Red Son.
Now Red Son is the cocky little fucker we all love but not in the way she thinks she brings up Hunter from the owl house and says
"Red Son is what Hunter should have been. A self-important brager who can't escape the fact that he's a normie weasel that kisses up to his uncaring father"
Which is just WHAT THE FUCK?! First of all, Red Son is not normal. He's a prince and a demon he's like Zuko if he was more confident or Azula if she took a chill pill on the manipulation and was just cocky. Another thing, DBK isn't an uncaring father he clearly cares about his son, but because he's written from the Ming dynasty, he's not gonna show it in the way fathers would now the only time we see him call his son useless is A) when he was possessed and B) when he was pissed off at being captured thinking his son died only to find out he got away then started talking about how Spider queen will never catch him (personally I thought that scene was really funny and actually made me shoot water out of my nose)
When Wukong starts egging him on seeing that he was going to break the webbing that was keeping everyone trapped, he brings up Red Son, and that was the tipping point DBK needed to get free to which he runs off to go find him.
DBK is a pretty caring father and husband he doesn't have to really worry about PIF as she's already proven capable of protecting herself. Red Son is still considered a child to him, and he's been out of his life for a good chunk of it, so he doesn't fully know what Red Son is capable of, especially without his samade fire which at the time of making that video we didn't know about the fire so she gets a small pass on that.
Last but not least, the whole "Saturday morning" villains, all the villains believe it or not, don't get redemption they get atonement. Except for the spider demons, which I saw as being horribly unfair to them, they died and didn't even get a chance to realize that maybe world domination isn't worth it. Spider queen's death was super sad. The screaming, how she fought so hard to get herself free, the last ditch effort of reaching out for help, and finally seeing her sink into the position. How the little power she had was used to power something, not even she would enjoy.
Every character is a blast to watch and is never a dull moment with them. Hell, even the one-off side characters are a blast like the delivery guys gold and silver employed and never showed up again.
don't say I didn't tell you so
note: an ao lie and wukong one shot based off a fanart. In which wukong comes to visit Ao lie to meet his son, however something seems off with the baby.
When wukong had first heard that Ao lie and his spouse had a baby, he was shocked and wanted to go and ask him so many questions. Unfortunately, he was busy, and the only time he could go meet the baby was 8 months after it was born. The baby was a healthy boy, half human and half dragon. He was so excited to meet the little rascal
Wukong rode on his cloud, on his way to see the baby. And his friend of course, as he hadn't seen him in awhile. When he arrived, he saw Ao lie holding the baby in his arms. Ao lie seemed tired, his hair tied up in a big bun to keep it from being down. He guessed long hair wasn't very good with a baby around. "Heyyyy bud. This your son I keep hearing about?" Wukong said with a chuckle, walking up to his friend who seemed like he could pass out any moment. Ao lie nodded "yes,,, would you like to hold him for a bit while I go do something real quick?" He asked, it definitely just seemed like he needed a break
Wukong smiled and nodded, taking the small baby in his arms. It was so.... tiny, even more tiny than the monkeys back home. Wukong happily held the Small baby in his arms, it squirming and whining in his hold "miss your dad already? Awe kid, I'm hurt." He joked, only to be meet with a confused baby. Of course it was confused, it didn't even know him. But one day he'll be more involved, maybe then the kid would not be whining with him.
Suddenly wukong was cut off guard and he tensed up, he felt it. The energy of the samadhi fire in this kid. But how was this possible? It happened way before the kid was even born. Could he have inherited it from his dear friend? He needed to tell Ao lie.
When Ao lie came back, taking the baby back in his arms, is when wukong decided to tell his friend his discovery "I think he inherited it from you..I didn't know that was possible but we must keep him away from anything that could reunite the flame.." wukong spoke
Ao lie looked down at his son and then back at wukong, hugging the child close to him now "what do you suggest we do?" He asked, terrified for his own child.
"I think....we should tell red sons parents. They'll make sure he's kept away from anything that can unite the flame..." Wukong said.
"No." Ao lie said with a serious expression. Rare for him, but wukong guessed fatherhood changed him and all that junk. He didn't really understand, he wasn't a father (yet).
"But if we don't-" wukong was about to lay out reasons, heck he couldn't understand how he was more rational right now.
"Wukong I can't.... they'll.... they'll try to keep him away.... they might just....keep him away from me." He said. Weird. wukong didn't remember him being so.... determined?
"Ao lie you can't just- just- not tell anyone!" Wukong aurged. How come he was the rational one right now. That's not fair.
"Yes I can! Wukong! Please just keep a promise for me. Just promise you can keep him away from all this, never let the fire unite Again...." Ao lie said, holding his now crying son.
Wukong sighed "fine.... but don't say I didn't tell you so..." He said
