阿弥陀佛. Universe started together when your xin (mind) is shakened. Yi than zhin too many 32,000. Xing fu yuan man. It is created even before any time and space. Alaya consciousness is created. How big? Bigger than the universe, it is zhe xin. Lun wui is to tai yim and change it. Meng sarm kin seng (sarm leng) where u have chap seng (dirty, tham chan chi, ko sarng wud too use to it this turned into wisdom, chi seng sickness). Sarng meng is sarng wud. Zhuan seng to become zhi wai. Fui fuk zhi seng, seng fat (cheng fo). Close to Enlightenment which with no differentiation. Mona become pin deng. Xin fo peng deng. That is the state of Buddhahood. Time & space came from one source. Me but still got fa sheng. Western Pureland is created by it too of Amitabha Buddha but it does not have 'zhi xin dong nian'. Non differentiation mind. The truth behind the tooth. The papaya croach story. When you let go of yourself, you got the world. When you let go of this world, you will get Western Pureland. Tree is life. The world is using a piece of paper to weigh everything, cert for qualification, paper owns land and houses. A piece of paper becomes everything, your self worth as light as a piece of paper....Jing zhen guo. Fang xia chai but ku, let go and burden's gone...Compassion is your focus, is your life. If no compassion then only left unhappiness and sorrow. Happiness in Saha world is the start of unhappiness. Go back to the neutral state is happiness, no unhappiness. You need to peace down, silent give rise to wisdom. My heart is my way place. Wo xin ju shi tao chang. Fo got 52 jie ti. Let go, become Arhat, let go become Pusa and let go become Buddha.

Becos u never let go of the 6 realm or rebirth activities. Greed, anger, ignorance (3 poisons need to let go 1st)
All ppl are the creation of their minds.
Then can u nian fo (real valuable activities the rests are useless)? All problems are due to cant let go of afflictions. Zhe xin give rise to Amituofo & Western Pureland. All existence is creation of the mind. How to let go of everything and seek rebirth in Pureland. All existence, this Saha world is creation of the mind / messy thoughts. Our body is our own manifestation of the (our) mind. Let go of the thoughts and mind, it will take u to next creation / manifestation. Practice but forget don't put practice into the mind. Be forgetful but only remember where you are going, Western Pureland so keep that in mind. This is called freedom of the mind (like depicted in Heart Sutra, freedom - zezai), our only aim which is zezai warng serng si fang ji le sher chieh. Love is the opposite of wisdom. Wisdom can only arise from compassion if you can turn love to compassion. Love can be a distraction to a cultivator. Love is not real. Reason stuck in 6 realms of retribution is love (because got form and conditions), everything of this nature is impermanent, hence love is not real, jia xiang. U cant come out. Dont let jia siang chi pien ni de xin. Dont be fooled by a false image / appearance. Use peng deng xin to console sentient beings, Buddha treat everyone like his father, the King. The thanxiang, cow agarwood no longer here. Go Western Pureland: (Haitao Fashi) Use 3 fu tien, kan ern de fu tien, zhun jing de fu tien, cher pei de fu tien. (Chin Kung Fashi) 3 fu, xiao shun fu mu / respective teachers - 1. Filial piety is the root. 2. Take refuges, san kwai yi / chi kai. 3. Sam sun yan ko (first, nian fo yin, cheng fo zhi ko). Ying guang fa shi. Wu liang yik zhi zhai fan now, Da zhi zai tien wang tha men di fu de guang ming bu nen kan dao. In front of rulai, it's gone. Fan fu. We have 51 mental factors

- sing so 11 san de (seong ying), fanuo de 26 (seong ying). The 10 recitation method x 9 times in a day, 2 minutes each time, nian nian bu warng Amituofo. At one point, u are here, there, everywhere in the universe of existence, different space and time like a multiverse. This body is like a bowl of water with lots of salt added (a.k.a. sufferings which r the effects of ur past karma). Everything u have contact with is to let u 'suffer' all circumstances created in some past lives that u cant see or remember. The purpose of cultivation is to realised this truth (6 realms of rebirth). To break and escape this cycle is to achieve Buddhahood. Fastest way is to see all existences as one and of the same. If u destroy ur own defilements u are doing the same for others only when u have compassion and use 'peng deng, chi pei, po re xin'. This body is yeap bo. Life is like a bowl of salt water. Living it is like drinking it. You need to add more water not morr salt so it geys better over time. Get out of it, pour it back to the sea. You dont need to drink it. It is where water would return (thru true self discovery and enlightenment, practice of Buddhism to the highest level).
4 Universal Vows
Also sometimes called the Bodhisattva Vows, as they are essential to the Bodhisattva path of Mahāyāna Buddhism.
1. Sentient beings are limitless; I vow to liberate them.
眾生無邊誓願度
Zhòngshēng wúbiān shìyuàn dù
Zhong Shen Wu Bian Ser Yuan Tu
2. Afflictions are endless; I vow to eradicate them.
煩惱無盡誓願斷
Fánnǎo wújìn shìyuàn duàn
Fan Now Wu Jing Ser Yuan Tuan.
3. Teachings are infinite; I vow to learn them.
法門無量誓願學
Fǎmén wúliàng shìyuàn xué
Fa Men Wu Liang Ser Yuan Shue.
4. Buddhahood is supreme; I vow to attain it.
佛道無上誓願成
Fú dào wú shàng shìyuàn chéng
Fo Dao Wu Sharng Ser Yuan Chern.
Say this 4 things, ask to let go:
Ken ching qiu fangxia yuen:
1. Du bu qu. Sorry.
2. Ching yuan liang wo. Please forgive me.
3. Xie xie ni. Thank you.
4. Wo ai ni. I love you.
Duration of cultivation:
41 years. May 3rd, 2022 - May 3rd, 2062 (add one year worth of cultivation)
When the Prince, Siddhartha Gautama bids farewell to his father saying:
Even my love for Yasodhara…and my son…
cannot remove the pain I feel.
For I know that they too will have to suffer,
grow old…and die.
Like you, like me, like us all.
Yes. We must all die…
and be reborn…
and die again,
and be reborn and die,
and be reborn and die again.
No man can ever escape that curse.
Then that…is my task. I…will lift that curse.
At the moment of the attainment of awakening, the Buddha uttered the following:
"I travelled through the rounds of countless births through the cycle of existence,
Seeking but not finding the builder of this house [of 'self'] and again and again, I faced the suffering of new birth.
O Housebuilder, you have now been seen,
You shall not build a house again for me.
Your beams [defilements] have now been broken, Your ridgepole [ignorance] utterly shattered.
My mind has attained the supreme
'nibbana' ('blowing out')
Realised is the unconditioned, Achieved is the end of craving."

When attachment arises in our mind it does not feel harmful; on the contrary it usually feels beneficial. Therefore, it is important to contemplate repeatedly the faults of attachment and to recognize it as a delusion whose only function is to cause us harm.
Remember one cannot trust what you sees because ur eyes are imperfecg and cannot see the absolute truth. This organ limitation is bounded by it creations. It is created from delusion. What is deluded cannot revealed it undeluded nature. Just like the blind leading the blind...it is still within the same state which is called suffering. When u see without seeing and when u have sight of not using any organ is when the truth would be revealed and the absolute truth is the state overcoming delusion or samsara, the true escape of realm of rebirths. Is when u crossed the other shore. The state of relization, Buddhood, the enlightment.

Then can u nian fo (real valuable activities  the rests are useless)? All problems are due to cant let go of afflictions. Zhe xin give rise to Amituofo & Western Pureland. All existence is creation of the mind. How to let go of everything and seek rebirth in Pureland. All existence, this Saha world is creation of the mind / messy thoughts. Our body is our own manifestation of the (our) mind. Let go of the thoughts and mind, it will take u to next creation / manifestation. Practice but forget don't put practice into the mind. Be forgetful but only remember where you are going, Western Pureland so keep that in mind. This is called freedom of the mind (like depicted in Heart Sutra, freedom - zezai), our only aim which is zezai warng serng si fang ji le sher chieh. Love is the opposite of wisdom. Wisdom can only arise from compassion if you can turn love to compassion. Love can be a distraction to a cultivator. Love is not real. Reason stuck in 6 realms of retribution is love (because got form and conditions), everything of this nature is impermanent, hence love is not real, jia xiang. U cant come out. Dont let jia siang chi pien ni de xin. Dont be fooled by a false image / appearance. Use peng deng xin to console sentient beings, Buddha treat everyone like his father, the King. The thanxiang, cow agarwood no longer here. Go Western Pureland: (Haitao Fashi) Use 3 fu tien, kan ern de fu tien, zhun jing de fu tien, cher pei de fu tien. (Chin Kung Fashi) 3 fu, xiao shun fu mu / respective teachers - 1. Filial piety is the root. 2. Take refuges, san kwai yi / chi kai. 3. Sam sun yan ko (first, nian fo yin, cheng fo zhi ko). Huan xi pu ser. Pu ser, cai yuen guenx2 lai. All existence are manifestation of karma, the fruits of causes (combination of effects). All are swihuan de. At one point, u are here, there, everywhere in the universe of existence, different space and time like a multiverse. This body is like a bowl of water with lots of salt added (a.k.a. sufferings which r the effects of ur past karma). Everything u have contact with is to let u 'suffer' all circumstances created in some past lives that u cant see or remember. The purpose of cultivation is to realised this truth (6 realms of rebirth). To break and escape this cycle is to achieve Buddhahood. Fastest way is to see all existences as one and of the same. If u destroy ur own defilements u are doing the same for others only when u have compassion and use 'peng deng, chi pei, po re xin'. This body is yeap bo. Life is like a bowl of salt water. Living it is like drinking it. You need to add more water not morr salt so it geys better over time. Get out of it, pour it back to the sea. You dont need to drink it. It is where water would return (thru true self discovery and enlightenment, practice of Buddhism to the highest level).
4 Universal Vows
Also sometimes called the Bodhisattva Vows, as they are essential to the Bodhisattva path of Mahāyāna Buddhism.
1. Sentient beings are limitless; I vow to liberate them.
眾生無邊誓願度
Zhòngshēng wúbiān shìyuàn dù
Zhong Shen Wu Bian Ser Yuan Tu
2. Afflictions are endless; I vow to eradicate them.
煩惱無盡誓願斷
Fánnǎo wújìn shìyuàn duàn
Fan Now Wu Jing Ser Yuan Tuan.
3. Teachings are infinite; I vow to learn them.
法門無量誓願學
Fǎmén wúliàng shìyuàn xué
Fa Men Wu Liang Ser Yuan Shue.
4. Buddhahood is supreme; I vow to attain it.
佛道無上誓願成
Fú dào wú shàng shìyuàn chéng
Fo Dao Wu Sharng Ser Yuan Chern.

When the Prince, Siddhartha Gautama bids farewell to his father saying:
Even my love for Yasodhara…and my son…
cannot remove the pain I feel.
For I know that they too will have to suffer,
grow old…and die.
Like you, like me, like us all.
Yes. We must all die…
and be reborn…
and die again,
and be reborn and die,
and be reborn and die again.
No man can ever escape that curse.
Then that…is my task. I…will lift that curse.
At the moment of the attainment of awakening, the Buddha uttered the following:
"I travelled through the rounds of countless births through the cycle of existence,
Seeking but not finding the builder of this house [of 'self'] and again and again, I faced the suffering of new birth.
O Housebuilder, you have now been seen,
You shall not build a house again for me.
Your beams [defilements] have now been broken, Your ridgepole [ignorance] utterly shattered.
My mind has attained the supreme
'nibbana' ('blowing out')
Realised is the unconditioned, Achieved is the end of craving."

When attachment arises in our mind it does not feel harmful; on the contrary it usually feels beneficial. Therefore, it is important to contemplate repeatedly the faults of attachment and to recognize it as a delusion whose only function is to cause us harm.
Remember one cannot trust what you sees because ur eyes are imperfecg and cannot see the absolute truth. This organ limitation is bounded by it creations. It is created from delusion. What is deluded cannot revealed it undeluded nature. Just like the blind leading the blind...it is still within the same state which is called suffering. When u see without seeing and when u have sight of not uding any organ is when the truth would be revealed and the absolute truth is the state overcoming delusion or samsara, the true escape of realm of rebirths. Is when u crossed the other shore. The state of relization, Buddhood, the enlightment.

Biography of Lu Ji, part 1

Lu Ji, courtesy name Shiheng, was a native of Wu commandery. His grandfather Xun was Wu's Imperial Chancellor, his father Kang was Wu's Great Marshal. Ji was 7 chi tall, his voice was like a bell. As young he was unusually talented, in composing writing he was the best of his generation. He humbly embraced the methods of the Ru and did not act contrary to the rites. When Kang passed on [in 274], he led his father's troops as Commander of the Serrated Gates. He was aged 20 when Wu was wiped out [in 280], and he withdrew to live in the old village, shutting the gates and diligently studying, for a cumulative 10 years.
Due to the Sun clan being in Wu, and his grandfather and father for generations being generals and chancellor, had great merits in Jiangbao. He deeply regretted Sun Hao raising [him?] up and then rejecting him. He therefore discussing the obtaining by Quan and the loss by Hao, and also desired to narrate his grandfather and father's merits and heritage. He therefore wrote an Essay on Arguing over the Loss in 2 scrolls. Its first scroll says:
Formerly the Han clan lost the government. Treacherous subjects stole the instructions, calamity took base [?] in the capital domain, poison spread widely inside the houses, the august guide-ropes were loosened and worn out, the royal house thereupon declined. And so a crowd of heroes swarmed and stirred up, righteous troops joined in four [?].
The Martial and Zealous [wulie] August Emperor of Wu [Sun Jian], earnestly indignant at the descent of the state, in a flash issued from south of the Jing, authority in general was disordered and confused, loyal and brave in the generations of princes [?], his power and stateliness then the Yi archers shook unbridled, troops mixed then the ugly prisoners conferred the tallies, thereupon sweeping away the sacrifices to the pure lineages, evaporating the offerings to the august forefathers.
At the time the rising cloud's generals girdled the province, the beginning gale's leaders straddled the estate, the roaring growl's crowd the wind spurred, the black and brown bears' families the fog combined.
Though troops acted due to righteousness, swearing together to join strength, all burst forth storing up misfortune in their hearts, hindering the troops and relying on chaos, some leaders were without strategy and laws, losing power and harvesting bandits. Loyalty to the regulation and martial credentials, originally like this was their display.
Wulie had vanished, [when] the Fearless [huan] King of Changsha's [Sun Ce] outstanding talent instructed the generation, coming of age in full bloom issuing forth, summoning to grasp the neglected and aged, the following his narrated heritage [?]. Spirited troops to the east he spurred, striving to diminish the criminal multitudes, attacking not the the generals of strong cities, battling not the caitiffs of crossed spears.
Executing the rebellious and the pliant obeying, and outside the Jiang brought to an end and settled [?]. Giving laws and paying the teachers, then power and virtue were agreed and glowing. Guest rites for the famous and worthy, and the Honourable Zhang [Zhao] was his hero. Exchanging chariots with the brave and capable, and Zhou Yu  [SGZ54] was his champion. Those two lordly masters both were vastly sharp-minded and very extraordinary, elegantly intelligent and cleverly wise. Because of that those of the same region thereby for the most part [?] adhered, those of comparable alliance were in the mood to assemble. East of the Jiang protected many gentlemen.
[He] wanted to the north to attack the various Hua, execute and eliminate the enemies of the law [? or “Gan Ji” the man?], return the August Carriage to the level path [?], turn around the Emperor to sit at the Purple Gate, clasp the Son of Heaven to thereby order the various lords, purify Heaven's pace and return to the matters of the past.
The war chariot had halted, a crowd of murderers glanced sideways, the great profession not approaching, [he was] in the middle of his time and yet [he] fell.
Employed to bring to rest [?] our Great [da] August Emperor [Sun Quan], thereby the extraordinary footprints raided the untroubled path [?], with shrewd heart and because of that making the chart [?], followed the government to inquire into old truths [?], sowing law examinations on former practices. And yet adding to them using sincere respect, explaining them using modesty and frugality, organized consultations of the capable and talented, excellent plans and good decisions [?], bales of silk journeying to the hills and gardens, signals and instructions delivered on the roads and alleys.
For that reason the heroic and elegant made use of the music and the sound arrived, determined gentlemen dried in the brilliance and the sunlight pursued [?].Unusual people [joined like] wheel spokes at the hub, stern scholars like a forest.
Hence the Honourable Zhang was teacher and tutor. The companions of Zhou Yu, the Honourable Lu [Xun] [SGZ58], Lu Su [SGZ54], Lü Meng [SGZ54], entered to be belly and heart, set out to be legs and arms. The followers of Gan Ning [SGZ55], Ling Tong, Cheng Pu [SGZ55], He Qi [SGZ60], Zhu Huan [SGZ56] and Zhu Ran [SGZ56] exerted their power. The members of han Dang [SGZ55], Pan Zhang [SGZ55], Huang Gai [SGZ55], Jiang Qin [SGZ55] and Zhou Tai [SGZ55] proclaiming their might.
For manners and elegance then Zhuge Jin [SGZ52], Zhang Cheng [SGZ52] and Bu Zhi [SGZ52] due to their famous voices shone on the state. For government affairs then Gu Yong [SGZ52], Pan Jun, Lü Fan [SGZ56] and Lü Dai [SGZ60] due to their receptacles for trust were the bodies of duty. For service on missions [?] then Zhao Zi and Chen Heng due to their quick intelligence deferred praise. For numerous methods then Wu Fan [SGZ63] and Zhao Da [SGZ63] due to their fortunate omens united the virtuous.
Dong Xi [SGZ55] and Chen Wu [SGZ55] killed themselves to thereby protect the master. Luo Tong [SGZ57] and Liu Ji [SGZ49] stubbornly remonstrated to thereby mend transgressions.
Plans were not losing the plot, recommendations did not miss the scheme [?]. For that reason thereupon divided and took possession of the mountains and streams, straddling and ruling Jing and Wu, and yet with Under Heaven disputing the measure [?].
The Wei clan once depended on the power of battle victories, leading a host 1 000 000, floating ships of the Deng pass [?], sending down a multitude of the Han's shadow, feathered oars to a sum of ten thousand, dragons cantering along the flow, a sharp host of a thousand travels [?], martial foot-[soldiers] in the plains and swamps [?], scheming ministers filling the houses, martial generals joining measures, heaving to have the determination of swallowing the banks of the Jiang, the air of a single time and space [?].
Yet when Zhou Yu spurred our incomplete [?] host, dismissing them at the Red Cliffs, lost the banners and chaotic tracks,  the only just captured were released, gathered the traces for a distant escape [?].
The King of Han likewise relied on the symbols of emperor and king, leading the people of Ba and Han, riding dangerously and galloping disastrously, connecting ramparts for a thousand li, with the determination of reporting the defeat of Guan Yu [SGZ], and design to gather the land west of the Xiang.
Yet when my [our] the Honourable Lu likewise pushed them down at Xiling, [he] turned around the host in defeat, was besieged but later relieved, cutting off the instructions at Yong'an. Continuing thereby the robbing of Ruxu, approaching the stream to destroy the sharp. At the battle of the lush and luxuriant, the solitary wheel did not turn around. [?]
Thus with regard to the generals of two nations, with a mournful spirit pushing down the spear point, power and wealth lacking, and yet Wu smilingly [?] sat down to drive their criminals. For that reason the people of Wei requested peace, the Han clan begged for a covenant. Thereupon he ascended to the Heavenly Title, the tripods erected and set up.
To the west bounded the outlands of Yong and Yi, to the north pulled apart the banks of the Huai and the Han, to the east the flourishing [?] lands of the Hundred Yue, to the south embraced the displays of the groups of the Man.
And so explained the rites of the Eight Eras, investigated the music of the Three Kings, made announcements to the High God [shangdi], bowed and saluted the group of princes. Military subjects and resolute soldiers, followed the Jiang and protected. Long pikes and strong lances [?], looking at the gale and striving. [?] The numerous governors exhausting the laws above, the black headed opening the professions below, reforming and uniting the special progeny [?], the wind overflowing the distant borders.
Therefore so that a single separate moving person [?], consoled and patrolled the outer districts, enormous elephants and fleet horses [?], disturbing at the outside barrier, brilliant jewels, jade and treasure, shining at the inner government, the precious and extraordinary had heavy footprints and then came, strange plays ought to make sound and then attended. Light carriages hurried to the southern wastelands, rushing and charging to rest at the northern wilderness [?]. The numerous black fled the suffering of invading halberds, arms and horses without the worry of early morning clothes, then the Emperor's profession became solid.
The Great August had vanished, when an infant master managed the court, the treacherous turned around to lay out cruelty. The Luminous [jing] August's [Sun Xiu] writing brush rose up, he reverently studied ignored laws, a government without a great palace, a virtuous master of protecting the civil. Descending and returning the instructions' beginning, the canonical punishments not wiped out, for that reason the old similarly lived [?].
The Grand Marshal, the Honourable Lu used his civil and martial [abilities] to shinne at court [?], the Imperial Chancellor of the Left, Lu Kai [SGZ61], used his bold speechto  perfect the law. Then Shi Ji and Fan Shen used power and weightiness to make clear, Ding Feng [SGZ55] and Zhongli Fei used their martial and resolute reputations, Meng Zong and Ding Gu's followers were Excellencies and Ministers. Lou Xuan [SGZ65] and He Shao's [SGZ65] members held in hand opportune affairs. The Prime Head, although ill, his legs and arms were similarly virtuous.
Leading on to seize the final leaf, the group of Excellencies were mourning, indeed later the dark headed had worries of going to pieces [?], the imperial house had the rift of the soil collapsing. Successive instructions submit to change [?], the royal host turning around and setting forth, the soldiers scattering at the deployment [?], the multitudes fleeing to the estates, city moats without the strength of hedges and fences, mountains and streams without the power of ditches and mounds, did not have the labourers to haul the implements of cloud ladders. The calamity of the Earl of Zhi pouring incitement [?], the siege of Master Chu's construction house [?], the groups of the people of Yan crossing west. The army not [fighting?] for a full dozen days and yet the altars of soil and grain were eradicated.
Although loyal subjects were isolated and frustrated, zealous soldiers died on duty, generals how to aid? [?]
As for the generals of Cao and Liu not chosen by a single generation, earlier times' host without the multitudes of former days, the way of fighting and defending pressing down to have symbols in front, the fortune of dangerous obstructions suddenly do not change. Yet complete defeat rashly reasoned, past and present deceiving one's attention, how so? Changing the differences of this and that, the unusual talents of conferring trust [?].

Annals of Emperor Xuan, part 1

The Propagating August Emperor [xuan huangdi] taboo Yi, courtesy name Zhongda, was a native of Xiaojing village in Wen county, Henei. His family was of the Sima clan. His ancestors originated from Emperor Gaoyang's son Zhongli, who was the Summer Official Invoking Brightness. Successively for Tang [Emperor Yao], Yu [Emperor Shun], Xia and Shang, they for generations were Invokers.
Reaching the Zhou, they used the Summer Official as Marshal [sima]. His descendant, the Earl of Cheng, Xiufu, in the time of King Xuang of Zhou [r. 827 – 782 BC], as he as a hereditary official had successfully pacified the Xu region, was bestowed to use the office as family. Because of that it became the clan name.
Between Chu and Han, Sima Ang was a Zhao general who with the various lords attacked Qin. When Qin was destroyed, he was established as King of Yin with his seat in Henei [in 206 BC]. Han used his territory as a commandery. His sons and grandson thereupon had their families there.
Eight generations from Ang was born the General who Conquers the West, Jun, courtesy name Shuping. [d. 115 AD] Jun begot the Grand Warden of Yuzhang, Liang, courtesy name Gongdu. Liang begot the Grand Warden of Yingchuan, Jun, courtesy name Yuanyi. Jun begot the Intendant of Jingzhao, Fang, courtesy name Jiangong.
The Emperor was Fang's second son. As a young he had unusual authority, was clever, bright with many great schemes. He was broadly studied with wide knowledge, and devoted to Ru teachings. At great chaos at the end of Han, he often with sighs had in his heart worries for under Heaven [?]. The Grand Warden of Nanyang, Yang Jun, from the same commandery, was famous for understanding people. He saw the Emperor, not yet a youth, and found [?] him to be of uncommon capacity.
The Master of Writing Cui Yan of Qinghe and the Emperor's elder brother Lang were friends. He likewise said to Lang: “Sir's younger brother is intelligent, brilliant, clear and just, unbending in judgement [?] and a peerless talent, not reached by the master [?].”
In Han's 6th Year Jian'an [“Establishing Calm”, 201 AD], the commandery recommended him to the office of Reporting [Officer]. Emperor Wu of Wei was Minister of Works. He heard and nominated him. The Emperor knew Han's fortunes were about to fade, and did not desire to bend to the Cao clan. He explained that due to joint pains he was not able to stand up or sit. Wu of Wei sent a person at night to go and secretly probe him. The Emperor firmly lay down and did not move.
When Wu of Wei become Imperial Chancellor [in 208 AD], he again nominated him to be a Literary Scholar. He counselled the one to go [to deliver the appointment], saying: “If he again circle around, then right away collect him.” The Emperor was afraid and assumed the post.
And so he came to travel and live with the Heir-Apparent [Cao Pi], moved to Gentleman Attendant of the Yellow Gates, transferred to Gentleman Consultant and Associate of the Bureau of the East to the Imperial Chancellor and amassed to transfer to Master of Accounts.
Following the punishing of Zhang Lu [in 215 AD], he spoke to Wu of Wei, saying: “Liu Bei used deception to capture Liu Zhang. The people of Shu are not yet adhering, and yet he is away contending for Jiangling. This opportunity cannot be missed. Now with a show of force Hanzhong and Yi province will be shaken into stirring. Advance troops to approach them and their might must surely crumble. Because of this power, we can easily have merit and influence. A sagely person is unable to disregard the hour and so does not lose the hour!”
Wu of Wei said: “A man is not suffering enough. Now that he has obtained Longyou, he also desires to obtain Shu!” Having spoken so, he did not follow [the advice].
Then following that, they punished Sun Quan and routed him. When the army returned and Quan dispatched envoys to request to surrender, sending up a petition calling himself a subject, he pleaded to explain Heaven's Instructions. [That is, he is urging Cao Cao to become emperor.]
Emperor Wu of Wei said: “Does this boy wish to place me above the burning furnace coals?”
He replied: “Han's fortunes are nearly finished. Your Highness, out of ten parts under Heaven [you] have nine, thereby managing affairs in it [?]. Quan's calling himself a subject, the opinion of Heaven and Man. Yu [Shun], Xia, Yin, Zhou were not therefore humble yielders, but feared Heaven and understood the Instruction.”
The state of Wei had been established [in 217 AD], when he moved to Palace Cadet to the Heir-Apparent. He every time gave great plans and always had unusual strategies, he was heavily relied on by the Heir-Apparent. He, Chen Qun [SGZ22], Wu Zhi [SGZ21] and Zhu Yue [or Zhu Le?] were known as the Four Friends.
He was moved to be Marshal of the Army. He spoke to Wu of Wei: “Formerly when Jizi laid out plans, he put food at the head. Now those who till under Heaven are no more than two hundred thousand, not passing through the state's distant counting rods [?]. Although arms and armour are not yet rolled up, we ought start ploughing and start guarding. [?]” Wu of Wei accepted this, and so applied himself to agriculture and amassed grain, the state had plentiful supplies.
The Emperor also spoke of the Inspector of Jing province, Hu Xiu's rough violence and the Grand Warden of Nanxiang, Fu Fang's haughty extravagance. Neither should stay at the border. Wu of Wei did not investigate it. When Shu's general Yu besieged Cao Ren at Fan, Yu Jin and others with the Nine Armies were all lost. Xiu and Fang as a result surrendered to Yu, and the siege of Ren became considerably pressing.
At this time the Han emperor's capital was Xuchang. Wu of Wei, due to him being close to the traitors,  desired to move north of the He. The Emperor admonished, saying: “Jin and others were defeated by water, not by fighting and defending it. If the nation's great plans have not yet been diminished and [we] easily move the capital, then that is to show the enemy weakness, also the people of the Huai and the Mian will be greatly agitated. Sun Quan and Liu Bei, on the outside relatives but on the inside estranged, Yu has gained the idea, that Quan is without desires. [We] can explain to Quan, and cause him to grab his [Yu's?] rear, then the siege of Fan will loosen itself.” Wu followed this. Quan as a result dispatched the general Lü Meng [SGZ54] westward to raid Gong'an and uproot it. Yu thereupon was seized by Meng.
Wu of Wei due to Jing province's neglected populace [?] and the agricultural garrisons in Yingchuan being closely pressured by the southern bandits, in all cases desired to move them [?]. The Emperor said: “Jing and Chu are simple to strip off, easy to bestir but difficult to calm. Guan Yu is just broken, the various evil-doers in hiding or run off look on with expectations. Now if we move those who are good, then we harm their opinion [of us], it will cause those who have left not daring to return again.” [Wu of Wei] followed this. Afterwards those who had absconded heard and again returned to their professoins.
When Wu of Wei passed away at Luoyang [on 15 March 220], the court in the countryside was imperilled and afraid. The Emperor brought order to the funeral affairs, inside and outside were respectful. Therefore received the imperial coffin [lit. “catalpa palace” from the wood used] to return to Ye.
