don't stress about that opportunity that fell through or that friend you lost or that thing you really want to happen but isn't. as long as you keep your chin up and try try try again, better things will replace your losses. i'm looking at my life rn and actually marveling at how every single thing i stressed about, whether it be an opportunity or a person, got supplanted w another thing that is so much better. it really is true that loss makes space for better things. these days i don't get sad when something doesn't work out. i get excited that i'm now open to so many other possibilities out there, so long as i actively seek them. you never lack. you just transition.

im always thinking about "do you have money tonight, danny?" and its not just about being known by (nick)name it's about the way daniel fixes the bartender with a stare before louis tells him to "get the boy whatever he wants", the smug satisfaction when he orders, how the bartender brings the drinks over with this Look at them both that seems to say he's seen daniel do this a dozen times before; this kid who comes in clutching his bag, never any money in his pockets but he always manages to scrounge up a drink anyway, and you can count on one hand the amount of times he's left the bar without company

Physical therapy is great and all, it can help a lot of people, but also sometimes it won't help and people need to understand that. Sometimes disability problems can't be solved by adaptive tools or special training and you have to go "well that's going to have to continue to be a problem" and learn to be okay with that.
