Sirius read and re-read the small piece of parchment. He hadn’t spoken to Regulus since that day over the Summer in Orion’s office, as was usual. They had both been disciplined over the years, and they never spoke for a few weeks afterwards. The shame of seeing each other broken and quivering was too much. They were blokes after all, and blokes didn’t talk about that sort of stuff. Well at least he and Regulus didn’t talk about that sort of thing.

Sirius could always talk to James, although he still couldn’t tell him everything, he couldn’t bring himself to talk about his father’s office. James would fly off the handle and try to rescue him, or some such other stupid heroic shit, which would inevitably fail, and Sirius’ punishments would get much worse if he told. If he dared to air the Black’s dirty laundry to what they saw as a blood traitor. No, all he had to do was make it until he was of age, and then he could take the money his Uncle left him, and run away from the family forever. It was just two and a bit more years, he had survived so far, so how hard could it be?

I've already posted a fic rec for the shoebox project years ago and have raved about this fic on many occasions over the years, but in my eyes this fic absolutely deserves its fandom classic status. And if you've ever wanted to read it but didn't want to download all the pdf files, I highly recommend checking out the podfic version! It's so lovely and it also includes all the art in the videos. I will try to find the tumblr post because I think I remember reading a meta post talking more in depth about the different recordings, but a little bit of that history is mentioned on ao3 as well, and I think the fact that the podfic consists of so many different recordings, done by different groups of fans over the years who were then collected and completed, speaks for the impact this fic has had on the fandom and the love it has deservedly received over the years.

I’m sorry to “Sirius would have died before revealing where the Potters were” truthers but I genuinely believe that if Voldemort had threatened to torture Moony in front of him or worse force Moony to do something, he would have caved too.

Its been years since Ive interacted with canon!HP content but Peter saying the Dark Lord had his ways always struck me. Like how could he? I can’t rmb much about Canon!Peter but in my head, the marauders are this tight knit grp that would have done anything for each other. I sincerely believe that James and Sirius probably defended Peter against bullying and Pete was definitely there helping Sirius (and Reg) escape Grimmauld. I really think even if he did betray them, it was due to some horrific threats. Like maybe they threatened his sick single mum or like they killed his lover in front of him or idk man SOME SICK SHIT. And, then, he ran cause he remembered that Sirius is unhinged.

I don’t think if he was in the right mind, he would have killed the muggles. And, I also don’t think Sirius would just kill Pete. I think AND THIS IS HOW DELULU I AM Pete would’ve tried to send a patronus to warn them but he couldnt cause he couldn’t conjure a happy memory. I think he wouldn’t have let Sirius go to Azkhaban (anyways, even in canon, I still dg why they didnt just veritaserum or pensieve him).

In my head, Pete probably escaped the death eaters by turning into an animagus and hiding till the coast was clear and Sirius managed to adopt Harry or Mary or whoever managed to adopt Harry. I also think he would have waited till Remus came back to reveal that he was there. And, I truly believe the marauders would have forgiven him.

Honestly, Ive rejected so much canon that I’m at a point where canon is just DeathEater!Peter AU. Idk guyssss like maybe I’m just a sucker for the Marauders sticking tgt but ANYWAYS thats my take. Idk why im such a “Peter deserved better writing” truther but i mean thats just my HC.

P.s. i hc that Pete was a triple agent. In an everybody lives au I think he would sneak into Hogwarts as a rat and pretend to be Harry’s familiar. He probably also gives really good gifts.

P.s.s. I personally love AceSpec Peter because it would make sense why two inept boys in the 70s would have chosen him as the secret keeper. Because in James and Sirius stupid romance-centric mind, Pete would have been the only one without an S/o to blackmail him w. And, thats what ultimately led to their downfall.

alr who wants me to write a rosekiller fic thats canon compliant and long. i dont have the energy for 1st to 5th year (maybe a couple chapters to show the important stuff) but i would do 6th all the way until after goblet of fire!! it would be from barty's POV of course, and would have kinda... insane rosekiller? it would also have unrequited bartylus im thinking hmmm hm my brain is thinking. it would also have jegulus but end with jily because canon. it would also have reg's plotline of the horcrux, and also have pandora and barty after the war. panda trying to carry on the horcrux hunt. dorc's revenge era after marls dies. i would also want it to be very raw, like proper proper canon compliant. so like no comfort, no fluff (well, maybe some, but not overall), just literal insane love. and martyrdom and his father's abuse and unrequited love and morally bad characters and so much pain.

only writing it though if people want it. so like. tell me if you do :)

Hi anon! I'm happy you're enjoying the story. The fact you're asking me this tells me you missed today's update, probably because ao3 is down.

The short answer is no. And don't take it as hate, I think it is great you found something you enjoy in this fandom. But jegulus makes absolutely no sense to me.

I understand that the marauders fandom is going through a "canon doesn't matter" phase, but I couldn't agree less. When I post those fics I do it because it brings me joy to write about characters I grew up with, with their personalities, tastes, relationships...

And you could say "but cami, wolfstar isn't canon either" and you'd be absolutely right. But Remus and Sirius have a pre existing relationship in the story, and there are even book quotes that hint at Remus having a (most likely one sided) crush on Sirius. It is one thing for me to bend the story a little further in ways that are canon compliant. It's something else entirely for me to change who they are, as the current fandom has the habit of doing very carelessly imo.

But this is getting long, so anyway. No. No jegulus. At least not in a romantic sense. Not here or in any of my future works. Jily will always be my go to as far as Lily and James are concerned. You are welcome to stay and see how Regulus' relationship with his brother will turn out, though!

Regulus Black stared out of the windows of the Slytherin Common room. The murky green stillness occasionally broken by the odd Merperson or Grindylow. He occasionally knocked on the glass or cast a lighting charm to attract them but it was to no avail. They wouldn't come on command. Neither would Sirius. You could suggest, encourage and dare Sirius into anything but to command him would be the height of idiocy. Well, unless you were Sirius' parents, they could command, they could bully, they could hurt you whenever they wanted to.

Regulus shuddered at the memory of his Father ordering himself and Sirius into his study before they returned to Hogwarts. He hated his memory, it never failed in its perfect and total recall.

Walburga Black sat primly behind Orion's desk, sipping out of a silver teacup, with eyes as cold and dead as stone. A carriage clock, emblazed with the family crest sat handsomely upon the black marble fireplace. Regulus hated that clock, it ticked too loudly and set his teeth on edge.

Tick. tick. tick.

"Boys, i assume you know why i have asked to see you both." Orion's voice was deep and smooth, the cadence of decades spent greasing the right palms at the Ministry and appearing in court to defend his friends.

"I haven't the foggiest idea, are we celebrating your 1000th successful round of Muggle Baiting?" Sirius stared directly towards the window above the desk, his voice was light, but he would not look at his parents. Regulus remained silent.

"If we were, we would be years too late." Orion laughed, more to himself than anyone, "I have summoned you both to discuss the important changes in the Wizarding Community and the standards i expect you to uphold."

Regulus dared a quick glance at Sirius, he shifted almost imperceptibly, but kept his back ramrod straight and Sirius continued to stare at the cherry blossoms outside of the window.

Tick. Tick.

LOVE that for u hoping the explosion is magnificent <3 i like minerva + poppy as a pairing but i am not particularly interested in it myself which i think is probably because they both live through the events of canon lmao <3 u know me i am a tragedy enjoyer first and a human being second up to this point the main thing that has made me like every ship i like has been me thinking "hmmmm how sad would their story be in a canon universe"
