The world seems to be literally burning,

Yet within me there's a sense of ease.

Problems upon problems turn up without warning,

Yet the chaos doesn't nothing to deter my inner peace.

Maybe it's selfish,

To feel so calm

When there are others terrified of this hellish,

Terrifying storm.

The world seems to be tearing apart,

With new calamities at every turn,

Yet tranquility still maintains in my heart;

I feel no heat from the fire that burns.

Of course it's terrifying;

The possibility of danger.

The only thing I'm denying,

Is letting my tranquility waver.

today is just one of those days where waiting sets very heavily on top of your shoulders that it almsot breaks your bones. patience is a 1000 degress firey monster that can melt your flesh away in a second. you feel like you've overstayed your welcome in your family's house and your free trial is over and is now the time to pay your overdue rent. their love will no longer be for free. whatever friends you have left are distracted living their own lives cherishing their own separate friends and can't find the time to include you. yet you can't blame anyone because it's your time to be tested. it's your time to be stripped away of whatever little support system you have to see if you're a true believer on your own or is it only a group project sort of thing. but you know it's not easy and loneliness is a big fat bitch that sits on your neck almost crushing your wind pipe.

my engagement to a man i could not even dream of is set to take place in september. in anticipation of practicalities and humble announcements the families seem to like each other so far. yet i cannot fully submerge myself in the excitement these affairs bring along since my grandmother’s health has not improved, nor did i manage to find a steady income.

If you aren’t able to fast because of health issues, you can fast from something else other than food! Or have your food be as bland as possible and go without the nice flavors. The purpose is to abstain from something you take for granted and there’s several options for that if it’s something important to you and traditional fasting isn’t an option <3
