Icy and Stormy look brilliant but I'm not so happy with Darcy? Like, I always loved her long hair and now she looks so basic. It has always been a trademark of both Icy and Darcy to have disproportionate long hair. And I don't like that it's gone.

So... I was looking at a certain scene in Winx club. and I was flabbergasted to discover that despite having 3 ENGLISH DUBS, NO VERSION WAS FAITHFUL TO THE ORIGINAL

"Tecna has sacrificed herself to close this portal, using all her life energy" is very different from "There is nothing we can do, the portal is closed, she's made the ultimate sacrifice" or "Tecna has sealed herself away inside a locked and frozen dimension".

The italian original clearly said that Tecna had "died" using all her life force. Not by being trapped in the Omega dimension.

On top of that, even the rest of the dialogue is different and doesn't match the lip synch at all.

I'm going to sub this particular clip. 3 english dubs and not a single one getting this right.

So guys, let's all talk about Lloyd, we know who he is if you watch Ninjago or starting with Dragons Rising, master of energy, son of Garmadon, nephew of Wu, grandson of the First Spinjitzu Master and the green ninja, the chosen one, some love Lloyd and some don't, let's find out why? Lloyd is the main character, he's a green ninja, that's understandable, but why is he constantly and every time need to shove him into new seasons?

I know and understand that he is the main character, but this does not mean that they need to add him in every season, then why do they need other ninjas, if they could write the name: "green ninja" Or Lloyd's name, and according to the title, once the name: Masters of Spinjitzu, then it is about the masters, and not one. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Lloyd, on the contrary I love him, but honestly it really got me, like he's already a green ninja, chosen one, a master of energy or life, he had golden power (I wonder if it will appear in the future) He has a golden uniform oni

Some made art that he merges with his element instead of Nya, and also has the shape of a dragon or whatever it is called (correct me if anything, I just inserted them here, since it went, I don't know, maybe it will be in the future) And also one dragon from the Dragons Rising helped him by giving him strength, but maybe that's enough? We already all know that Lloyd is very strong of others, especially he has oni blood in him, but why overestimate him and add him every season and every time it's the turn of other ninjas? Everything is like with Bloom from Winx.

And also with other main characters from other anime / TV series or lego and their what? Do you also have to hate them now? In general, let's at least hope that Lloyd will no longer be added as often in the future as it was from 2013 to 2023, as well as 2024, we know that he is the main character, but this does not mean that he needs to be added every time in new seasons, why then others? Is it just that they are worth it when they are needed or not? Unclear🤔🤷‍♀️

This might be a little niche but Lift pretending to be Navani has the exact same vibe as that episode in winx club where the girls are going to Andros(?) and have to sneak out and skip school so they put an illusion on the pixies to pretend to be them so Griselda won’t catch them

my digested thoughts on the reboot trailer!

ALFEA & FAIRIES

Starting off, i want to say that the animation looked very hard, and what i mean by that is that there is a lack of natural motion.

When bloom was riding her bike, it just didn't look very natural;

Also, in this scene the skirts and hair looked very stiff [but i won't take that much into my heart because it's a paused frame]; otherwise, i really love the textures!

And, Stella has her "staff' back! I guess it's not much of a staff now, as it's very small so it would be more appropriate to call it a Wand or a Scepter, but it's there!

I'm a little dissapoited with the background characters here because they all look very bland. Characters in the original were all so fun and unique that even background fairies, who never even spoke, were people's favourites because of their designs.

Through design, we got the gist that they had different personalities and that they all came from different planets all over the magical dimension, where different types of clothing were trendy. It breathed life into the universe without needing tiring exposition about it.

Here, their styles just look very similar to each other, and they all are quite boring.

On another note, i think Alfea looks very stunning as always, and i really do like the design of the castle. I just think it looks a little bit less unique to the original.

Also, this fairy's design looks extremely simple compared to the winx's transformation. This just lowkey makes me upset because, at least for the modern fairy transformations, the background girls always looked top-notch and even had more complex looking desings when compared to the winx.

+ a clearer look of her scepter > I think the intention behind this design was to make it look like the Sovereign's Sceptre with Cross or Queen Mary II's Orb, but the colour choices and star at the bottom make it look a bit tacky. I don't hate the idea of the design, but i think a different colour scheme would have made it look more regal. And I say this because thinking back to her original staff, it was quite sleek and luxurious looking because of it.

THE SPECIALISTS!

The scene where they appear is so blurry and quick that there's not much to talk about, but i definitely enjoyed what could be seen during those 2 seconds.

Brandon being with his full body upside down, you go king! We can't see any of them that well, but Sky looks cute, even if he's blurry, and Brandom, they could never make me not like Brandom. Riven looks like he's scowling, so that's good for him.

Also, I think the details of the uniforms look very cool, but something about the Board is giving plastic toy for me. The ship also look alright and other then that, I love that they had some falir whilst coming out of it.

some quick design commentary

I still don't love their daily outfit designs; actually, i think i'm starting to dislike them even more.

Musa and Stella's faces still look very weird (I think for Stella using yellow eyeshadows really was a BAD choice)

I like that their exploring outifts hate different-looking bottoms and that all of them have their hair tied up in different ways [not sure what's going on with Bloom's bangs tho];

Also still on the exploring scene i love that Aisha is the one leading even tho Bloom is on scene :p

The Trix are honestly so iconic that i get very happy just by seeing them, even though i don't love theirs looks. They still look good, and I like that the bit with their initials looks that way, but something is off about the texture for me.

That was all from me. I didn't want to be very negative, and overall, i do think that it looks fine, y'know. And i do have high hopes for the storytelling and for it to be good!

Also, i don't think it needs to be just like the original series for it to be good, but I have set expectations. Because Winx Club was my childhood show, and now, as an adult looking back at it, I can see so many great aspects of the show that still hold up to this day.

And for me it just doesn't make sense how people back then could do such great things, and nowadays they can't produce something that's up to the same standars y'know [Winx Club Seasons 5-8, I'm looking at you].

Anyway, i'm very excited to watch it when it comes out. What are your thoughts?

MADE EDITS i couldn't stop thinking about their outfits and like,, the aspects i liked and thought felt very winx and in line with the individual characters and the aspects i Hated and thought sucked dookie SO i made some edits :)

biggest changes are to musa, aisha, and stella! actually changed the clothes there. flora and tecna i just adjusted the colors (in flora's case to further unwhitewash her and saturate her clothing more and in tecna's case to bring back her pink hair and green and cyan).

explanations on changes below!

I'll start with the simpler edits!

For Tecna, I just wanted to play around with her og colors lol I actually LOVE her new look and I would love to see this be the final design!! It's SO tecna and fits in with the rest of the winx i love it soo much :') I do think they should bring back her pinker hair though! And again, would love to see the green and cyan make an appearance. I feel like neon green is just very classy techy character. And while it is cliche, I do love it akjgd plus I think it looks good on her and makes the other colors stand out more imo! (but maybe this new, pinker look will make people like her more idk :') justice for tecna my beloved :'))

For Flora, I darkened her skin more for obvious reasons. And then I added more saturation to the colors and added back the warmer tones they took out. Imo, the darker, desaturated, and cooler toned look for Flora only works in very specific circumstances. Color theory rainbow!! Bring back the brightness! The color!! The warmth!!

Which brings me to Stella ohmygod,,, please,,,, please stop desaturating her she looks so pale and sick and lifeless STOP please :') Anyway lol, obviously brought back the brighter orange! I also took away the random sleeve. It's cute but it just didn't feel very Stella at the time? The tube top look is Very Classic Stella (very much giving s3 casual but in orange). Tbh, I don't love the dress itself, but I do think it looks better once you add more of Stella's colors. I also tanned her skin more and made her hair more yellow + brighter! Just like with Flora, color theory is important for media!! This Stella design just does Not give sunny, optimistic character. It's giving the gap (aka BORING aljdhg)

Aisha's design stumped me for a bit, I won't lie. I couldn't figure out exactly what I didn't like. But I got it!! One, way too symmetrical imo. Yes, Aisha does have some very symmetrical looks, but like 80% of her looks are very asymmetrical. I also didn't love that it didn't incorporate more of Aisha's powers. It really just went for *vaguely sporty* and didn't try to bring anything else to the table. And some people might say that Aisha's og looks were like that too, but I disagree! They told a story! She's a brave adventurer, a dancer, a princess, etcetc!! This tells me "oh yeah this girl might like to do yoga. cool."

Anyway! So I made Aisha's pants baggier because let's be fucking real for a sec. Changed the design on the pants slightly to make it asymmetrical and incorporated a wave design. Took away that bottom shiny fabric of her shirt. I tried to keep it but it just wasn't looking great with the pants changes tbh. Added small waves to the bottom and made it one shoulder! Also added her classic little circle wave design 1. because it's cute and 2. so Musa wouldn't feel so out of place with a design. Tbh, I still don't love the pants... I think maybe that hem could be higher?

For Musa! I've spoken about this before but I do not like the bodysuit. I liked the concept and the vibe it brings, but it looks So uncomfortable and s1 Musa was alllll about being comfortable. It's why so many people think she hates wearing dresses (even though she doesn't). So I kept the vibe, but changed it to the same mesh that's on her right arm! Which like!! I didn't even see that until I started the edit!! It's so,,, unnoticeable which like,, isn't a bad thing? But also? I think the mesh being on her stomach too makes the design as a whole a little more balanced (and it's a nice callback to her og magic winx!). As for the color changes, really just wanted to go back to her reds and dark blues. I don't Hate the color scheme, but I also don't love it. And I think this feels a lot more like Musa yknow? Also darkened her hair cause fuck that dude

Anyway lol it's not the best edit so don't look too hard :') I just wanted to explore what I liked about the designs and what I didn't. We did get to see a little bit of Bloom's casual, but I want to wait until we get a closer look to speak on it/make edits. Also tbh, I don't really love Flora's outfit but I didn't want to completely redesign her and I concede that this is something she would wear (although it feels more like s4 cowgirl time/s5 casual and not s1 new student time but Fine). For now, I'm gonna pretend the trailer showed us my edit of Stella and not what it really showed. I can't get pale pinterest stella out of my head,,, aggghhhh

With the impending arrival of the Winx Club reboot -

I feel, as if they have one more chance to do Musa and Riven's relationship justice

As we know Riven is a fairly toxic guy, but he genuinely does try to do the right thing, and he does really love Musa.

But because of some, in my opinion, terrible choice by the writers/show runners, there relationship was in a constant state of drama, for the sake of relationship drama.

I think, in a way, it did show unhealthy relationships can be on both ends, and teach young girls, and boys that those kinds of relationships only hurt, and even if you do love the other person, if they are hurting you, and you them, it's best to take a break.

What I would like for Musa and Riven's relationship this time around, is that they start off like their pre-reboot counterparts. That they love each other, but because of there respective pasts, they are slightly toxic for each other, in the sense Musa is constantly questioning of Riven loves her, and Riven being a jerk and insensitive.

But instead of it devolving, I think it would be a nice thing to see the others, the Winx and Specialist, notice and pull them both up on that because they are concerned.

And from there Musa and Riven, either take some time apart, to work on themselves, or do so together as a couple.

Will they still fight? Yes

Will they communicate more? Yes

A relationship is about communication, compromise and trust. Something they were missing for the longest time.

It also presents a unique opportunity. To either have Musa and Riven stay together, or break up, officially.

This could lead to an interesting side story with them seeing other people, learning more about themselves. And eventually realizing that the timing of their relationship was too soon(right person, wrong time) or that they were just an experience for each other, a relationship that they had to experience to understand who they truly wanted as a partner.

Remember, it's implied that the Winx and the Specialist are each other's first real relationships. And first, loves don't always work out.

Either way, I can't wait! Winx was a big part of my childhood. And from the sneek peaks I saw it seems like it's going to have a slightly different plot than the original.

I’ve been cautiously optimistic about the Winx Club Reboot (never really watched the show growing up, but I have watched a couple episodes/read fanfics) and I noticed a detail in the trailer and I want to theorize based off some of the leaks. (Spoilers for the Winx Club Reboot and the (possible) Winx leaks under the cut!)

I noticed in the trailer that it seems they’ve made Kiko in a diary/notebook/whatever. Surprise I haven’t seen more people talk about this detail- granted, it is a sort of “blink and you’ll miss it” moment.

I have a theory that Kiko might end up being turned into an actual rabbit in the reboot. In the possible leaks, a title for one of the episodes mentioned Bloom being homesick. If this is true, maybe she unconsciously uses her magic to turn Kiko the Diary into Kiko the Real Live Rabbit. Or maybe it’s not Bloom, maybe someone does it? Idk food for thought.
