I'd like to point something out about Spiral.

A lot of people seem to be of the opinion Charlie Emerson was a butcher - hence, William's skill with skinning Benny's corpse. But look at this:

Charlie wasn't a butcher, he was a mechanic. It's much more likely he was responsible for William's knowledge of machinery and engineering - and being able to put his traps together in the first place. William didn't grow up used to the smell of blood and pig guts. It was an acquired taste, born after Pete murdered Charlie.

And he learned to love it, mixed with the familiar smell of oil and the sound of running motors. His hands stained, just like his father's were - but with the red of justice alongside the black of a well-crafted machine.
