Aaaugh ngl sometimes it's hard to find artists to follow because 90% of them draw your NOTP, especially when your current fave is a half of that NOTP, and most of the people drawing him are fans of said ship.

Obviously no shame to them, ship what you want as long as children aren't involved with adults but like- Still.

Adventure Time: Finnceline

My first real ship, the first fanfiction I ever read, and I spent hours watching Finnceline AMV's way back when YouTube didn't have commercials. Finn and Marcy's personalities and experiences play so well off of each other that I'm thoroughly convinced the writers were terrified of their potential. They would be an amazing butt-kicking couple, but that wouldn't leave Finn with as many flaws to develop as a young man coming of age. And it's such a shame because you know they'd always have each other's backs and best interests at heart. And with a fully grown adult Finn I'd bet money they'd have at least turned out as cuddle buddies... who occasionally engage in some very aggressive cuddling.😏

Flame Princess and Huntress Wizard were great and had their cool moments with Finn, but something tells me Marceline would give up her immortal life in a heartbeat to protect Finn. Having seen each other's pasts and memories and going out of their way to help each other with deep-rooted life issues, Finnceline just has more depth to work with than the other ships.

Gravity Falls: Dipper x Pacifica x Mabel

The first episode I ever saw was the one where Pacifica and Mabel play mini-golf. I wasn't fully paying attention and assumed Dipper and Mabel were just best friends dealing with a bully. The car ride home together was cute and solidified my first ever threeway ship. THEN I found out they were siblings...

Then I found out fanfiction didn't care! In fact, here's a [link] to the BEST fanfic I've ever read for this ship, enjoy!

Star Vs. The Forces of Evil: MonStarco

The MonStar AU is where things are relatively the same except for one thing: Star is half or part monster. It makes good sense that Star, being an interdimensional magical princess from an interdimensional magical kingdom would be a little more... interdimensional. It gives some fresh blood to Starco fics, which can be a bit too vanilla most of the time, especially when you get to parts where Star's otherworldly anatomy and quirks cause all sorts of problems and shenanigans!

Sort of like her muberty phase but she's stuck looking that way, and if you remember the show said there's a chance every Mewman actually COULD end up stuck in butterfly form! Super interesting! It reminds me a lot of the episode of Teen Titans(original) where Starfire was going through alien puberty, and how fun of an episode it was to watch. The fact that there's tons of Monster Star AU and Mewberty art out there helps a ton as well!

Steven Universe: Lapiven & Stevinel

Lapiven: These two are the perfect example of "cute sunshine boy X hot goth gf". Plain and simple, Steven's optimism is exactly what Lapis needed to begin working through what happened to her. And no one appreciates a cinnamon roll the way a scarred person does. Also, tell me they don't look like a couple everytime they're onscreen together? I mean really watch them! Blushing, giggling, constant eye contact, twinkling eyes, immediately responsive to each others change in mood, plenty physical contact, elation whenever Steven calls or visits.

You can call it platonic for the Shtewball, but Lapis adores Steven in every sense of the word! She warned him and negotiated his safety when she realized Homeworld would get involved. She held Jasper prisoner in her own head just to protect him. She faced her trauma and returned to confront the Diamonds, ready to put hands and feet on an enemy she knew she couldn't beat. And entirely because, to her, Steven's safety was more important than her own life! Weigh out those exact same scenarios, their exact same interactions with each other with just about any other two characters in animation and tell me it doesn't make sense? I swear most of their episodes together are just them going on dates!

Stevinel: Now this is special to me. On the opposite side of the scale Steven and Spinel share the same feelings of abandonment and inadequacy from and by Pink. Of course they aren't the only ones, but Spinel didn't raise Steven as a parent or sibling. There was no one better suited to empathize with Steven's issues, and his downward spiral into becoming a monster who hurts people.

What Spinel went through in the movie is too on the nose for what Steven goes through in Future, and I'm flabbergasted that the writers chose to have her be of little to no help when Steven needed to be shown that he didn't have to hold himself together on his own!

But back on topic. The other Gems love Steven, but Spinel is wired to love him just like Pearl, on top of whatever blooms between them naturally. So when those wires were damaged from Pink's abandonment, it's quite poetic that Steven is the one to mend them. From there It's as easy-peasy pink-heart-squeasy to assume the seeds of affection could sprout from such fertile ground. It also helps that Rebecca Sugar blatantly suggests Steven and Spinel's relationship isn't concretely platonic, at least for Spinel. Even going so far as to give us fan service!

Possibility is all that is needed for shippers and fanfictioneers to run wild with wishful thinking. I also might have a revenge boner for heartbroken characters who find happiness despite the tomfuckery done to them. "Pink abandoned me in her garden? Guess I'll have Steven frolicking in mine.

RWBY: Nora's Arc

Although I may grow enamored with other RWBY ships, I always come back to this one. It's just tons of fun! Responsible & Awkward meets Extroverted Hurricane, legally banned from IHOP and the Sloth exhibit at the zoo! Premium family man real estate meets poster girl for found family and there's no one better than Jaune-1-of-8-kids-Arc to get the job done!

I'm also of the mind that Nora's bombastic personality is meant to draw people to her, because she's absolutely terrified of being alone and left behind again. And with family gatherings at the Arc residence, isolation is all but nonexistent.

Wakfu: Yumalia

Dreams do come true! LET'S GOOO! Not much to say; they were set to be together from first sight and it was a rollercoaster from there. A lot like Aang and Katara, Yugo got his feisty princess and Amalia got her dashing hero. It's classic, it's timeless, and you love to see it done well!

The Dragon Prince: Rayllum

Obvious cuteness is obviously cute. It's nearly unheard of for the strange but exotic alien girl to be the one intrigued and smitten with the human boy. An action adventure fantasy but the non-human girl is the awkward one hiding her feelings? Sign me up! It's a breath of fresh air!

Sonic The Hedgehog: SilverWolf

The newest addition! Some fresh meat to sink my teeth into as I rekindle my love for the Sonic franchise! I haven't followed anything Sonic since the fever dream that was Sonic 06, but happened to see a few panels of Silver talking to what appeared to be a new character, Whisper the Wolf! Shy, soft spoken, but not from timidity, rather a desire to not scare others away because of her frightening features.

Pairing her with the very approachable and reassuring Silver makes for good chemistry in my opinion. I also adore Whisper's color scheme and the combination of silver, gold, and neon lights they have in a lot of comic panels together. They'd make a cute pair that's easy to reduce to a blushing mess with any little bit of teasing, and I'm here for it!

Okay,I’ll rank by personal taste since writing wise I think you would have to be too cold headed to evaluate.

With the exception of one , they are all book wise (i could rank the show ships later if you ask)

From less favorite to most:

10-Sergei and Marie: don't like either character so there are not strong feelings here, the impact is more interseting than the ship

9-Mayu and Isaak: they were boring together, the chemistry was just "eh" , just like before the impact was more interesting than the ship but this one actually needed you to care, which i did but also no, i cared abotu them as characters but not as a couple. Only ranking them higher because i like both characters

8-Tamadia: please don't hang me for this , i wish i could like them more but their writing was kind of lazy, i felt Leigh wrote everyone to have their perfect match, made Zoya , Nikolai and Adrik wait for someone she thought would be good for them but with Tamadia she just paired her with the remaining girl with no real exploration of what they have in common or why they lile each other. I get why Nadia likes Tamar(who wouldn't like her?) but i don't see why Tamar likes Nadia because she is a very lacking character that Leigh keeps insisting is a main one. I am sorry but i read RoW and kept thinking "wish Tamar wasn't married cause she´d be more interesting if paired with Ehri" i shouldn't think that, Leigh never gave them plenty to work with mostly like i said: Nadia hardly was a defined character.

I will say positive things: their existence made homophobes rabid , and it makes Tamar happy, also she is very gentle and romantic in her relationship which is a funny callback on how Sergei said he believes Tamar would be harsh with her future husband.

7-Fivan (show only) /Adreoni: I put on a tie because the things i can say about one can be said about the other: they are fine, they are cute and the reason they are both above tamadia is that despite having less screentime, they do have a pretty defined dynamic so you know how they are behind the scene. I wouldn't say they are the same ship, but they have similar principles in one being grumpy and the other being happy. While i am very skeptical of romance tropes as a basis to the whole ship when we are talking about main ships, in secondary characters it works fine and give personality to otherwise characters with limited screentime.

6-Genya x David : This will be hard to explain, they are cute, i can't place them higher because my liking goes to more balanced couples. Which is very likely related that this are two secondary characters while the higher ranked are at least two mains. The thing is it took me a while to warm up to them.

I´ll explain so i give a better picture: Before the "I know metal scene" i honestly didn't really care about the couple, to me it was just pairing the secondary characters, but i melted at David´s speech. But i can't rank them higher if it took me that long. It´s NOT bad writing, i am not saying that, it´s just what happens when it´s two secondary characters. And btw, it was more personality than the average secondary x secondary in other YA books, so it´s not a place to shame (i just feel the need to apologize to put my beloved David so low)

5-Hanne x Nina: I think the reason they don't make a bigger impresion is that the writing is more focussed on each them as characters than their relationship, which is a sacrifice i can respect. They still have good chemistry, to Leigh it was clearly a challenge to not make Helnik 2.0 (people don't give her credit on how she manages to make it romantic and still respecting fan`s love for Helnik) and i´ll say she acomplishes it. I think the issue is that they are actually too good together so there´s not a lot of room for conflict which leaves me wanting for more, it could have been more interesting, but definitely i am not worried about Nina finding someone that understands her and it´s pretty clear why they are so good for each other.

4-Malina: I don't know how i would feel about it if people wouldn't be so vocal about them being abusive or something. Like, people lower your expectations as crazy, i think Mal could use a bit of more focus on his identidy but thats mostly because tgt would have worked better with a multiple pov. As it is, yeah they are adorable, maybe less original in dynamic than the previous ones but the portrayal of their love for each other is very genuine. It has flaws, maybe some parts were too mean but i don't think it´s something that will cause a future problem, they seemed to have put their act together by the end of Ruin and Rising. And most of the most romantic scenes is between them, Leigh doesn't shy up in giving them casual afection, which is pretty cute.

3-Helnik : I have to reread the books every now and then to remember I do like them, because between the awful netflix portrayal and a good chunk of the fandom. However, despite that the ship itself it´s pretty well written, specially since a lot could have gone wrong. My feelings aren't as strong as it used to be, but they are still pretty good if you turn off the fans that clearly don't understand it and only care about the sexual or tropey etl aspect. If you want an actual problem with canon helping it may be that i never undestood why Nina fell in love with Matthias pre character develoment. Post develoment yes i can see it, but before that not really, nothing that ruins it, just places it lower.

2-Zoyalai & Kanej (shared 2nd) I am not saying a lot here because, what can i say? you people know they are both god (nope, didn't forgot an o) i don't need to sell it to you. Let´s say this: my head said Kanej, my heart said Zoyalai, so they will have to share.

ZN: Not my first GV but definitely the one i started shipping faster, i needed just a couple of sentences because their chemistry is that good. I was writing "Sometimes i like them more than Kanej, just sometimes" then i realized, yeah, i will have to put them both in two"

KI -: objetively they are the better one, they have an unique dynamic,subverts plenty of harmful stereotypes and have great scenes, I kind of like the irony that the best couple in the Grishaverse is the one that features no grisha character. But like i said, this was a personal ranking so...

1-Wesper: I have a lor of personal feelings about this, i think its a bit underrated in a way because people think they don't have a lot of drama like Kanej or Helnik but it´s kind of what i like it, i feel it realistic because it´s two people with their own problems leaning on each other. Also, their versatility to work in many aus is great, not to say it´s the ship in soc you actually get to see fall in love since the previous was mostly flashbacks , not saying they are better (like i said, i think Kanej is better objetively) but just more appealing to me. Also well, Jesper being my favorite and Wylan being the fourth help a lot.

anon, you are so right that snumblemort has the potential to go really, really hard and i am now entirely compelled by it as a concept.

i back each of the constituent two-person pairings entirely - i've written about snumbledore and riddledore, and i know there's an ask sitting in my inbox about snapemort [which i promise i'll get to].

and, i realise, i back them for exceptionally similar reasons.

both snumbledore and riddledore work because the potential for horror baked into them [the age gaps, the fact that dumbledore was both men's teacher, and so on] exist in conjunction with the fact that there would clearly be the foundations for genuinely meaningful relationships chilling cutely among all the ways in which they're fucked up.

all three men are the only people in the series who can be feasibly described as the others' intellectual equals - and all three share the same outlook on what the purpose of magic is and how one ought to relate to it [even if dumbledore hides this behind his shame at how his belief in the value of magic and magical experimentation as power triggered the whole grindelwald debacle...]. i think there's an immediately compelling prompt for a fic in which the three end up being forced to work together to solve some sort of mystery - the chance to pour over ancient manuscripts in candlelit libraries, or race against time to unravel the base of a curse or a poison, or try to figure out a series of puzzles or clues contained within dark objects would be right up their alleys, and nothing's hotter than a man who takes an interest in your sapiosexual pretensions.

but i'm also really interested in the ways in which snumbledore and riddledore really work as the most plausible pairings in which dumbledore can be made to do some actual self-growth.

his canonical relationship with both snape and voldemort is born of his own self-loathing - when he tells snape, in the prince's tale "you disgust me", he's speaking to the memory of a man whose selfish desire to impress someone he loved was utterly destructive; he is not disturbed by meeting the young tom riddle in half-blood prince until he describes himself as "special", and his loathing of the adult voldemort's obsession with fame and notoriety is evidently caused by the fact that these were both things he once [and still] desired.

and he's forced in canon to confront this in his relationship with snape - after snape agrees to kill him in half-blood prince - and to come to regard snape as brave, loyal, steadfast, and trustworthy. he's never - for obvious reasons - made to do this for voldemort in canon [and, indeed, he is strikingly oblivious in half-blood prince to the things about voldemort which inspire harry's sympathy - above all his lingering grief over his mother's death], but i think there are numerous plausible scenarios in which being forced into closer proximity to voldemort could bring this about. the canonical voldemort has an extremely profound - if also extremely odd - sense of honour, and he also possesses the capacity to - in his own little way - be surprisingly brave, and i always think there's something quite moving about fics in which dumbledore has no other option but to recognise this.

and dumbledore having to drop his mask would be good for both snape and voldemort. it's clear in canon that one of the reasons voldemort dislikes dumbledore is that he considers him a hypocrite [especially because he decries voldemort's ambition for public attention while courting such things himself] and that one of the reasons snape dislikes him is that he feels he conceals things from him because he distrusts him, even as he's asking him to risk his life for the order. both of them learning why it is that dumbledore constructed his public mask of benign eccentricity would help them make sense of why he is the way he is.

and it would allow all the similarities between the three to fully emerge. one of the reasons why snapemort really slaps as a ship is because snape and voldemort have so much in common - especially their experiences of childhood poverty, their disappointing fathers who they greatly resemble, and their periphery to the posh, pureblood world they both long to be fully part of and also long to undermine and humiliate. and dumbledore has the shadow of a similarly difficult childhood - and a similarly difficult relationship with his father and his legacy - lurking over him. all three also carry the weight of life-altering grief [even if voldemort is the one of the three unwilling to admit to this]. i think there's a lot of opportunity for the recognition of each in the others that they all canonically use to drive their own loathing to mutate into something which might look a lot like respect...

do i think it would be healthy? ...eh, probably not. all three clearly have really fucked-up views on intimacy and love, for one thing, and i doubt whether any of them really has the potential to let go of their original ways of seeing the others, to be properly honest, or to relinquish the power dynamics established between them from the beginning of their acquaintances.

You are welcome to add whatever you like, and if it was headcannons I would be pleased

Missions with Bulkhead were, simply put, fun. There were no real restrictions, safe for the obvious once like "don't cause human casualties" and "aim for the spark but torture isn't cool". No one would complain in the background as the wreckers lived up to their name and utterly wrecked the surrounding area.

Bulkhead didn't complain about the mess, no, but he did complain about… other things. 

"Oh! Such elegance and grace! He moves like he's air~' the bot practically purrs in admiration as they stare at the sleek Decepticon who's very much so trying to get somebody killed today.

"Uh- hey you do remember that he's the enemy, right? Haven't hit your processor and forgotten that, have you?" Bulkhead asks as he barely dodges another attack from Soundwave, giving his teammate an opening to shoot, which they gladly take. To no one's surprise Soundwave gracefully moves to the side and dodges the energy blast, "I knoooow, it's such a shame the cute ones are all Decepticons, right?" "I- have you lost your mind?!" "First Knockout, then Breakdown, and now him!  I mean seriously, what's with that?" "(N/N) now is not the time for this" talking and fighting at the same time come to the pair like breathing comes to humans, at this point it's just how things are. They kick ass and exchange their thoughts in the process. 

"If not now, when?! I can't just gush over him at the base! Arcee would yell at me" they frown, taking another shot at the con, finally landing a hit though it barely even scrapes his paint job. 

Bulkhead is so done. If it was anyone else- correction- if this was an autobot his friend was gushing over he'd be nothing but supportive. Truly he wishes them all the best. 

Not with a goddamn Decepticon though. He's internally begging that they're just messing with him.

They aren't. 

Miko definitely sneaked through the groundbridge to witness the battle and yeah she definitely heard and yeah she definitely ships it.

In a sense, Soundwave is completely unaffected by the compliments. Of course had this been a time of peace he would have entertained the thought of returning the affections, but he knows it's a foolish thought now. His spark may yearn for a lover but he denies the call, he won't betray his cause, not after everything he's done in its name, and he knows the autobot is unlikely to betray their friends.

He's neutral toward the compliments, he doesn't need the praise, he's not blind to his talents. He knows he's graceful, agile, and though he doesn't give it much consideration he knows he's beautiful in the eyes of many.

Though slowly and slightly he warms up to the bot. They seem kind, he might be a Decepticon but that is still a trait he admires, even if he more often than not would take advantage of such a trait.

As time goes forward, slowly he starts to go just slightly easier. Gives them a second longer to dodge, doesn't immediately go for their spark. 

Small changes, but once he hopes they can notice. 

Maybe after the war is over, regardless of whose victory it'll be, maybe then he could spare them more of his time, get to know them a little better. Return their compliments, allow himself to open up to them.

But that is all wishful thinking, he's aware of as much. But it's a wish he keeps close to his spark.

Perhaps he would meet his doom by their servo, or perhaps he would extinguish their spark before that wish ever came true, they were in the middle of a brutal war after all. 

He's fully aware that each fight could very well be his last, or theirs. He knows that each time seeing them could be the last, he tries to savor those brief moments.

Either way, whatever the future holds, however the story goes, he hopes that their face would be the last thing he sees. Be that because they bested him in battle, or because they'll be the last thing he'll be thinking of, along with his long lost cassettes.

There was a time they met alone in a barren battlefield, or, now it was just a field.

There was no need to fight, no real desire to.

Both were standing face to face with an enemy, yet neither made the move to kill.

No, for that brief moment they looked around and exchanged their wordless confessions. 

The world was still, for a moment it felt like the years of endless bloodshed were yet to happen, or almost as if they never existed at all.

It felt like they were back home on Cybertron. The other's presence didn't feel like the one of an enemy, no. Instead it felt like they were both new sparks who had met for the first time, yet at the same time it felt like they'd known each other for all their lives. 

It felt like all these eons spent at war had been pointless after all. 

They stared at him for a little longer and he stared back, he didn't need to say a word, they understood the meaning easily.

"After the war"

That was a promise he could only hope he could keep.

But as the cruel and unrelenting fate, which at this point he assumes to be vengeful, would have it, he was right. That accursed moment of separation came eventually. Not because death tore them apart, rather it was the fault of humans. 

Now he was to roam this lonely realm, Shadowzone, alone, silently watching as the bot he'd made his sweet promise had to quietly grieved for him in solitude. 

After all, Bulkhead was under the impression they were merely joking, and how could they ever tell the others the reason behind their sparkache? As if they'd understand the pain that came with this loss, one they needed to cope with by their lonesome. He was their enemy yet he was undeniably loved by them. But now it seemed that said love could never truly bloom, not even after the war as they'd once promised to one another.

He never left their side, not till they went too far for him to follow, back to Cybertron. 

Now he's alone.

Even still, he hopes that one day he'll be able to keep his word.

He'll wait for that moment for as long as it takes, but at the same time he wonders.

Will they be waiting for him as well?

can u talk more about tenko/miya oohh i love it sm

so there are like, several versions of this ship in my head and I think that's one thing that makes it so fun. It's kind of similar to how you how you can do a lot of different things with Miya too I think there's a lot of potential if you do something with their pre-game selves (if you want there be an equivalent to Miya in reality)

Pre-game Tenko is very cute to me and it's fun to imagine her developing a crush on her. Since all of pre-game Tenko's sprites are her flustered expressions I like to imagine she's more of a girl failure. When comes to things closer to in-game, I also found it a shame that there's no dialogue in the base game, UTDP, or DRS where she finds out about Miya's existence. I honestly think it'd be a toned down and more genuine version of Mikan's dialogue about Miya. She'd find about her being sick and wanted to protect/take care of her. I've always thought that Miya would find her behavior cute and kind of spoil her which causes Tenko to get flustered which Miya would also find cute so it's a bit of a cycle. Of course there's the more toxic yuri angle, but I've always imagined things to be a bit tame between them. Miya/Angie has always been the ship with more entanglements just due to the kind of person Angie is. I have a very complicated AU that's like a Miyadera and Korekiyo role reversal where Miyadera is still the killer for the chapter 3 equivalent with Tenko still being one of her victims. In this scenario, Tenko would believe In Miyadera's delicate innocence until the very end and letting her guard down around her is her undoing really.

He couldn’t help the way his heartbeat picked up at just the sound of your voice. Even over the phone a smile adorned his face.He felt like a child with a crush. A very dangerous thing, considering he devoted himself to God. The responsible thing was to stay away but he couldn’t. 

“You’re not busy today are you?,”

“No nothing, what do you need?” He winces, even to his own ears he sounds desperate. 

“Perfect, I was hoping you would come with me to buy this couch,” The smile on your face was audible, even through the phone. 

“Yeah of course. I’ll meet you at your apartment”

“Thank you so much Brain!” you gush, making Brian's hands clammy. He’d do anything to make you happy. “Oh just one more thing, you're wearing your collar right?” He gives a hesitant yes. He’s gone out with you before wearing it you’ve never complained before. He offers to change, you quickly cut him off, “No don’t change, I’ll see you soon,” with that you hang up leaving a very confused Brian on the other end. He holds the phone to his ear for a moment longer still trying to understand why you wanted to know what he was wearing. 

His question is answered when the two of you show up to the shop. The salesman is giving the two of you his long-winded sales pitch, when you nudge his arm. Brian gives you a questioning look, you gesture to his jacket. It finally clicks, that's why you wanted him to come. With practiced ease he unzips his jacket, revealing his bright white collar. The salesman stutters, eyes stopping on the collar before asking if it's real. As soon as he confirms it’s real The salesman offers a reduced price, one you gladly accept. He even throws in free shipping. 

You’re smiling brightly when the two of you leave the store. Your couch is set to be delivered Tuesday, he’s sure you’ll call him to help you put it in your apartment (Which he’ll do with zero complaints). 

“So that’s why you wanted to know what I was wearing. So you could use me to get a discount.” 

You immediately act shocked, hand over your chest as you gape at him, “How dare you I just wanted to make sure you were dressed appropriately. It is getting colder.” he chuckles, rolling his eyes. 

“You know it’s frowned upon to lie to a priest.” that made you chuckle and in return he smiles happily at you. 

“I’m not lying, I just happen to know no one can resist you,” you stop walking, pulling on his arm so he’s facing you. Reaching out you grab his face squishing his cheeks together. “I mean who could say no to such a handsome face.” You quickly peck his lips, a friendly kiss that makes a blush form on his cheeks. How is he meant to keep his feelings secret when you do things like that?

“See! Look at how cute you look, it’s a shame you're a priest.” Yes, it is a shame. Especially in this moment when all he wants to do is give into his forbidden desires, and push you against the nearest wall, kissing you till his lips go numb. Before he can give in to these tempting desires, you're grabbing his hand pulling him across the street. 

The next time Brian sees you is at church. Although you may not be overtly religious, you did enjoy watching him deliver his sermon, and he enjoyed you being there. 

During the whole mass he couldn’t stop looking at you. Everytime the two of you would make eye-contact you’d send him a warm smile. There were moments during his sermon he would stumble over his words, losing his train of thought, to focused on you. .

Today however he was less than thrilled that you decided to come. He’s in the mist of talking to the crowd, asking them various questions when he looks over towards you. His mood is soured, even after mass is finished and the two of you are far from the man. Brians not blind he’s seen the way guys look at you, and maybe it was stupid to think you’d never look back at one of them.Now though as you mention that Issac, the man, has asked you on a date. He’s faced with the unsettling idea of you having a boyfriend, or god forbid a husband – something he can never be for you. The fact leaves a dull ache in his chest.  

It’s been a day since you told him of your date with Issac, and the ache in his chest has only grown. It’s only worsened with the knowledge that your dates tonight. All this explains what he was doing slumped over a bar with an empty glass in hand, trying to dull the ache. It wasn’t the best idea, especially since it’s only worsened the ache in his chest.

It’s probably around eleven, when the bartender taps on his back, “Sir?” He groggily lifts his head, eyes wide and glassy. “I’ll call you a cab.”, Brian nods, letting his head fall against the bar top. 

He doesn’t remember getting in the cab, nor telling the cab driver your addresses. Yet here he is standing outside your apartment door. He’s not sure why he’s here, Issac could be in there with you. That should be a reason to leave, instead he’s knocking. It feels like forever before you open the door. “Hey, what are you doing here?”  you look him up and down, immediately taking in his disheveled appearance. “Are you drunk?”

“I’m-I’m not drunk”  he thinks he’s being convincing, though the way he’s swaying is a dead give away. Seeing your unconvinced expression, he tries to lean against your door frame but instead he’s falling to the floor. You giggle, you’ve never seen Brian drunk before. Helping him off the floor, you lead him into your apartment. Setting him against the couch, you go to the kitchen filling a glass of water for him. You gently hand him the glass, he just sets it on the table. “Come on, you need to drink,” his skin is warm beneath your fingers, gently tilting his chin while guiding the glass to his lips. This time he gladly drinks the water. With the glass finished you set it on the table. “So what could possibly lead a priest to get drunk?” 

‘A priest’ , are the only words that register to him. That’s all you see him as, your friend the priest, and he hates it. Before he can register it his hands are moving on their own accord, grabbing your hips and pulling you into his lap. You gasp about to say something, when he cuts you off, pressing his lips desperately against yours. It's a mistake he knows, he just couldn’t hold himself back anymore.

The way he kissed you was filled with desperation, so vulnerable it had you pulling him closer. You’ve loved Brian, for years. No one could blame you, it’s impossible not to fall for the sweet blonde. Though there's a reason you’ve never acted on your feelings and your remembering it as your hands graze his clergy collar. You pull away from him, “Brian what are you doing?” 

He looks up at you, eyes hooded “I just needed to kiss you, I’ve been wanting to kiss you forever.” His confession makes your heart skip a beat. You have to remind yourself he’s a priest and tomorrow morning he’s going to regret this. “You're drunk and a priest,” you're not indulging him any further. 

“I’m drunk because you make my heart burn, and I can’t take it any more. There’s no way God made my heart beat for you just for me not to be with you.”  His words stir many conflicting feelings within you. 

“Tell me this in the morning, once you're sober.” your voice is vulnerable, if he really meant these things you’d accept his affections. In spite of the difficulties the two of you’d face. 

Climbing out of his lap you wish him an awkward goodnight, desperate to put distance between the two of you. A moment longer you might do something you regret like confessing your love to him. 

It’s a sleepless night, filled with tossing and turning. All you could think about were his soft lips against yours and his warm hands on your hips. 

Even now you're plagued with those thoughts. You want to talk to him, have him answer the questions you’ve been agonizing over all night. Is he going to say it was a mistake or will he confess to you again. You're not sure which terrifies you more.

Your doubts are forgotten temporarily, at the sound of a loud bang from the living room. You quickly make your way there. You hear a groan before seeing Brian face down on the floor. His arms are spread as he softly whines against the floor. “Are you okay?” He lifts his head at the sound of your voice. As soon as he locks eyes on you, he remembers his dream from last night. He quickly hides his face, hoping the cold floor will lessen his blush. His dream was so vivid, he swears he could still feel your lips against his. “Brian”, youcall yet he refuses to look up. It wasn’t his first time having a dream about, it was however the first one he’s had with you in the room next to him. You tried to get his attention again, running your hand gently over his head. “If this is about the kiss, we don’t have to talk about it.”

‘THE KISS’ his ears started to ring, ‘That was REAL, it wasn’t a dream. He actually kissed you’, his mind was in turmoil. He quickly sprang off the floor staring at you with wide confused eyes. “My mouth is dry, I need water.” you just nod, grabbing the glass  from the previous night and filling it up for him.  He watches you, frozen, his whole body breaking in a cold-sweat. 

He quickly chugs the water, “I kissed you?” he clarifies. He couldn’t believe that his dream was real, that he had been that rash. 

“You don’t remember”, he swears a look of hurt crosses your face. Could you possibly have feelings for him? 

“I thought it was a dream,” he meekly answers. 

You can’t help the chuckle that passes your lips. For a moment it’s like it was before you teasing him and him blushing handsomely. “Do you dream of kissing me often?”

He answers before he can register his words, “Yes.”you stare at him, thinking over your next words carefully.  

“Last night, you told me you loved me, do you remember that?” He didn’t answer right away, doing his best to replay last night.He remembers knocking on your door and you grabbing him a glass of water — you kissed him back. 

“Yes, I remember” he reaches out pulling you closer till you’re only a breath away,”You kissed me back” there's an unmistakable smile on his face. 

You wrap your arms around his neck letting your lips graze his as you speak your next words. “I also told you to tell me you love me again in the morning,”

“I love you.” he barely gets the words out, before your pressing your lips against his. The kiss is just as needy as last nights. Only this time there's no feelings of doubt, as you confess your love between kisses.

If I’m being honest this is the most obnoxious friendship to ever exist.

He’s known you for way to long and is sooo quirky.

Like you see the text messages? That’s how crazy it gets between you two.

He always gets so philosophical and you sometimes just get so fed up with his bull want to tell him to shut up 😂 mostly bc you know he’s just trying to troll.

Although he means well.

As you’re best friend he knows everything about you and you vice versa.

Like he knows everything, dates, crushes, ex’s, all times you feel like you’ve failed, your accomplishments, and even your most shameful moments.

He even remembers something as dumb as you tripping over something from two years ago.

“Remember when you tripped over my math book?”

“How do you remember these things?!?” You’d complain.

He even remembers things like your middle name, the teachers you’ve had and even something dumb like the first two words you exchanged when you got to know him.

He’s very detail oriented on pointless shit and it’s just funny.

Aside from this he’s very corny and quirky as we can see with the text messages.

He makes a lot of dumb jokes as he likes to get on your nerves.

It’s always fun to him.

Even if he acts like he’s offended by your insults he actually lives for them.

And he just loves you.

Though he acts like a dork/asshole he’d do anything for you.

Something he likes to do is take photos because he wants to hold a lot of memories and let me tell you, you’re in a lot of these pics.

I could literally see him vlogging and he just randomly involved you in it somehow because you’re his bff.

He believe it or not he is able to cook so he’d probably make cute things with you like the snowman pizza.

Mostly cause he likes cooking and making arts and crafts.

He’s a softie too

He surprises you a lot sometimes it’s gifts and other times it’s just something crazy happening like one time he brought home a bunch of ducks and then swim in the sink.

Which yess was cute but you had no idea why he brought them all or what to do with them.

He also will look though Pinterest to get craft ideas and just do a bunch of like diy stuff.

And always tries to get you to make it with him.

He loves cooking so he randomly makes things sometimes. You also sometimes ask him to cook instead of you bc he’s good at it. Plus on bad days or your birthday he’ll make you your favorite food.

He does steal food from you. Because he believes in the “what’s yours is mine and what’s mine is yours” shit. So it can be annoying which is why you take his jacket with you when your going for a run, steal a shirt, use his laptop/phone for something, and sleep on his bed. Food wise, you make spicy food because he cannot handle it, which gets him off your back 😂

He probably is good at baking or cooking so he sometimes asks you to be his taste tester.

On a bad day he brings snacks and sweets you love.

Takes care of you when you are sick because what are friends for.

Sometimes goes shopping with you and gives advice especially if you’re going on a date.

“I think blue looks better, says a lot more about you.”

“It’s just a color.” You’d say confused.

“Guys don’t see it that way.”

“Guys don’t? Or you don’t?” You’d joke.

If you are near Eren’s age or seem like the kinda girl he’d date you’d best believe Zeke is shipping you two hardcore.

He’d try to get you to hook up and start dating.

One time, he asked you what you thought about him during one of your movie nights when you two were having a snack.

“Hey, what do you think about my brother Eren?” He’d ask, looking at you a little serious.

You’d shake your head looking at him, “Mhh, No, no.”

“What? I’m just asking.” He’d say playing dumb.

“No, Zeke.”

“No but seriously, you two would be cute together.” He’d insist.

“I don’t like him like that.” You’d say.

He’d sigh, “One day you kids will realize it.”

He’d try to scheme the two of you together it just really doesn’t surprise me at all.

Personally Zeke doesn’t seem like the kind of person to have feelings for a girl he his friends with.

However if he and his bff have been friends for over ten years and she’s able to still put up with him he may just end up liking her.

He has thought about it before but pushed it away because he thought he was thinking too much.

If he ended up liking you he’d end up telling you which would be a shock to you.

It would be like those text messages where it says I’m freaking out.

But this doesn’t mean you’re friendship would really change.

You’d still have plenty to laugh about it.

You’ll still be listening to his obnoxious theories and questions about the world at 3am while you’re trying to sleep.

You’ll still participate in his crazy games that he comes up with and put up with all his other antics nonetheless.

People have told him he looks like Jesus and he actually tries to use it as an excuse.

OH BOY is it a DOOZY

so here's the thing about the spy au. because almost everyone has a secret identity it turns what might've been a love triangle or love trapezoid into a love dohexahedra. to give a very simple summary

DR ROSE-NOELLE (formerly Rose Lalonde, secretly Agent Cestus) is currently infiltrating the prestigious Prospitian Yellow Yard private school system, where she meets LADY FISHER (secretly Feferi, the runaway new ruler of Derse), a well-established Prospitian socialite who appears to have dirt and some vendetta against Crocker, leading to Rose deciding to seduce her, which leads to Unintended Feelings but--

OH NO! Rose is ALSO crushing on the cute tailor up the street, Kanaya Maryam! But alas, it's a crush she must let go of, since Kanaya is a Civilian (she isn't) and also holding Amorous Affection toward the offputting local librarian, Ms Vriska! And they're starting to date! Thankfully, she can take her mind off of it by trying to keep her newest mission alive, but alas! That also leads to Unexpected Feelings! How was she supposed to know that Agent Arachnid (secretly Vriska) could be strangely charming in a bitey, pathetic way while she's trying not to die by the Prospitian bounty hunter Auxiliatrix's (secretly Kanaya's) hand! And then Agent Cestus (Rose) has to contend with the fact that these may be the beginning sparks of Jealousy, seeing how Agent Arachnid and Auxiliatrix dance around each other, as if Arachnid doesn't want the game to end just yet...

Meanwhile Auxiliatrix wants desperately to just kill this fool Agent Arachnid because she's been so sleep deprived during her dates with her darling Vriska during the day! But then Agent Cestus appears to make things even harder, but Auxiliatrix can't help but find her strangely alluring... an intellectual equal...... it reminds her of the old flame who gave her the mission in the first place........ an old flame which seems on the verge of rekindling as Agent Gallows (secretly Terezi) becomes more and more vulnerable about her previous relationship with the rogue Agent Arachnid! But every time Kanaya feels she's getting close, Agent Gallows pulls away

and Terezi makes at least a cursory glance at trying to make Karkat fall in love with her, but that ship's long since sailed, and even if they were together, there's no way he'd ever give up the true identities of all of his contacts. Shame! Well, at least there's this cute comic artist/mail girl who comes around, who even indulges Terezi whenever she wants to do roleplay! Nepeta's sweet, lovable, and a Civilian (she's not)- so maybe some normalcy is what Terezi's thinking she craves... meanwhile Nepeta (secretly Dersite Agent Arsenic) sees Terezi flirting and becomes conflicted... because she's been exchanging letters with Agent Gallows of the Prospitian side for a while now, even outsie of the work correspondence, and she thinks she might be in love with her! But oh no! Does she also like Terezi.....??

But she doesn't have time to dwell on it, because Equius (alias Charon, the Dersite death machine builder) is falling in love, and the poor dude needs all the help he can get! His feelings for that weirdo arms dealer Mr. Angelo (secretly Eridan, Feferi's right hand) still confuses the hell out of her, but there seems to be some more tension that he isn't saying.... And Charon, looking over the perfectly edited autopsy reports he's received from the ghostly mortician A, able to even determine the cause of a robot's demise, sends his heart aflutter.... and besides, Mr. Angelo is a civilian, and a higher-ranking one at that... and the telegrams from Eridan Ampora have been really getting under his skin, making it so hard to have time alone!

Mr. Angelo meanwhile sees Dr Rose-Noelle as his rival in love to Lady Fisher, until he starts suspecting that she might ACTUALLY be Feferi, but he doesn't want to Outright Accuse because the consequences of getting it wrong are politically pretty fucking dire, so as his investigation shifts his amorous affections begin to shift toward Dr. Rose-Noelle... which is a fantastic distraction, since Agent Cestus has been a Right Pain in his ass, not getting Agent Arachnid out of Auxiliatrix's way fast enough for his tastes.......

and that's not even getting into TurnTech (secretly Dave) falling for Dr. Harley (secretly Jade) while Jade pines after Dr Rose-Noelle, and Dave also falling for John, who's secret identity is a comedian and therefore does not enter the equation.

It ALSO doesn't even start to get into TA (secretly Sollux) and Pastor's (gee Sollux, why do you get two secret identities) mobius double poly reacharound between Lady Fisher, Mr. Angelo, Aradia, Mortician A, and the heiress Feferi or Tavros crushing on the librarian Vriska while Agent Arachnid had a little fling with the informant Toreados or also like multiple people having a crush on Karkat at some point. this is just everything i could get down before i ran out of steam ghbjkjn

Some thoughts on this ship for this au of how it would all start 🤡

So to start, they’d meet at a private auction

This beautiful woman he’d never seen before who seemed so otherworldly

Biding on the same painting as him and letting out a small huff when he won

Something about her made him want give her a hard time

So he bid on the next time she bid on, driving the price up again again

Never outbidding her

just because he thought the way she glared at him was cute.

He almost completely forgot about that night until he came to place an order with Hinata and the ethereal being was sitting there all pretty enjoying her tea until she saw him

Kaguya could not believe this asshole from the auction was leaning on her chair like a slutty manwhore asking if she’s friends with Hina.

He did smell wonderful though, she’d give him that💀

One look at Hinata and she knew her suspicions were spot on; this man was one of her “associates” and massive trouble

So she did what any self respecting woman of class would do and tell him to mind his manners and wait his turn.

Which just made Shisui more intrigued with who this mysterious nougat was.

Just as she was leaving he handed her his business card, just in case she was looking for anything real estate in the near vicinity.

She reluctantly took it and continued on with her life; struggling to find anything worth investing in and declining obvious attempts at dates with senior citizens at the private athletic clubs

It wasn’t until she was playing racket ball with Toneri that the topic of real estate investments came up that she remembered she had the business card of a very attractive young “real-estate agent”

When she went to look at the apartment he was selling, she was amazed with how everything was staged

Impressed even, he had a great brand of wine poured for her, the lighting was great, everything was nice until she saw the painting he outbid her for

“I thought this would help sweeten the deal, princess”

She was OFFENDED. Never in her life had she had someone so blatantly messing with her so flippantly, even when it could come to a financial loss for themselves

Shisui was humored by her berating him. Honestly, just the reaction he expected from a spoiled heir to the Ōtsutsuki

Before either of them knew it, they were fucking in the living room underneath that damn painting

A shameful shaky walk back to her waiting vehicle; Kaguya really wasn’t proud of herself for not only hate-fucking this man she barely knew, but for enjoying it so much💀

Shisui on the other hand, was very proud of himself for always carrying a condom. They seemed very compatible, sexually at least~

He did feel a bit like a dick for teasing her so much, but didn’t have any real regrets.

Her threatening text about suing him if he spoke a word of this to anyone, also made him smile as he admired the scratch work she left on his chest and arms.

All his sloothing pointed to her being a single hardworking woman and in a long dry spell, so he wasn’t surprised that she had some pent up frustration 😏

More time goes by and they have a few run ins with each other

And Kaguya ignoring him and the rapid beating of her heart at the sight of him/the glorious memories of him on top of her in that apartment

It all came to a head at one of Hinata’s yacht parties when Shisui had his men lock them a room together for a date

Kaguya knew she wasn’t getting out of this “date” easily and decided to sit and see what this bastard had to say

Admittedly, she wasn’t hearing much over her own thoughts of escaping. She only focused back into what was being said when he asked why she never returned his messages.

He thought they had a lot of chemistry and had been thinking about her a lot lately

Kaguya simply shrugged. The truth was she didn’t have a good reason, she wa

Now she had to wonder how he knew all this and the thought of it sent shivers down her spine

After about 2 months of this, Shisui called her and asked to go out on a date, properly this time

She really can’t answer why she went on the date; morbid curiosity and lust were at the top of what she could gather for a reason

And of course the date was at one of the best rooftop restaurants around with an amazing view, which led them to being in luxury suite in hotel going at it all night

He’d planned for the evening to go just as it did, but he wasn’t planning on being hung up on everything she did.

Kaguya snapped back with she doesn’t want to go on a date with a man that’s sharing his dick with the world and has a barely legal little redhead friend. Yeah she did some research on you too, pal

Now this would make Shisui’s sweet smile turn mischievous. “So you want me all to yourself?”

“Give me a trial run and find out~”

And with that, Against Kaguya’s better judgment, this trail run would officially start

But kaguya isnt one to just accept Shisui’s manipulation attempts. Their meet ups were to only take place in neutral territory

She also found the damn tracker he’d put on her car at some point. It became obvious that there might be one with all their “chance” meets

She put the tracker on a pizza delivery vehicle and tipped the kid a hefty check of a years salary to make up for the job they’d no doubt lose driving all over town to teach her obsessed lover a lesson

Making sure to turn of the shared location feature he’d asked her not to and poured herself some wine to enjoy by her pool

Shisui was worried when he saw how active she was being driving all around and livid when he sees it’s some kid

Does she know what she’s doing to him!?

When he finally does come to her home, she’s sitting and ask if he enjoyed his little excursion. He in fact, did not.

He’d try to warn her about her behavior, but she’d warn him not to test her. He may not be afraid of jail, but she’s not afraid of him or his little family

If he wants her to believe his word and trust him be faithful, he needs to show he can be trusted to not pull this stunt again or they’re done

Shisui would sigh and think about her words. He trusts her, but the tracker was more for her own safety or so he’d tell himself

Of course he can’t stop his behavior cold, so he’d compromise; no tracker, but he’ll still “check up” on her

And inconvenience and threaten the lives of the other people that are obviously into his girl

It’s totally normal for a boyfriend to worry about his girlfriend

And it wouldn’t take Kaguya long to figure out why normally overly friendly business associates have all but turned into statues during meetings. Shisui 🫠

She would be 50/50 on if she wanted to end their trail relationship until she witnessed him thanking one of his low income tenants for the meal they’d made him as a thank you

At first she was appalled because she assumed he was whoring again the lady may have been older, but she was naturally beautiful and mature and something about that made her jealous 😤

And this made Kaguya come up to the pair and ask Shisui who his lovely friend was. Exchanging pleasantries with the woman despite wanting to ask what’s really going on

Shisui’s knowing smirk about her attitude on the way up the elevator would only infuriate her more

Just when she’d be ready to explode, he’d tell her that that tenant has a wife and those two a very happily married. “You see, she was doing alright in life until she wasn’t. Her wife got injured on the job, ran into one scammer, and that’s how they end up as my tenants. She just happens to know where I live as her brother is the doorman.”

She was still a skeptical until he told her they can probably go over their for dinner if she wanted to. It just reminded her that he’s got a pretty good heart deep down.

At the same time Shisui would be reminded that although she’s tough enough around the edges, she’s still pretty soft and vulnerable if he squints

A dangerous feeling, but a manageable one in his penthouse if only she stayed

His mouth dropped open when she agreed to move in. Working remotely isn’t a problem for Kaguya and the commute to her office isn’t horrible either, so why not?

She’s never lived with someone else or liked anyone enough to consider it

Her only two conditions are she gets her own room and, if she’s working, he doesn’t disturb her

His only rule is don’t ask questions she doesn’t want to know the answer to. He lives a life that wouldn’t want to know all the details of and probably shouldn’t. He’d never lie to her, but she’ll have to live with the information she receives

Other than that, he’s finally caught his pretty little bird and she’s safe in her cage

SPOILERS!!!!!!! Unorganized Teen Wolf movie review basically

I actually... really liked it??? Like it's not that good but I enjoyed watching it! A lot of parts were genuinely funny and the plot was like passable! (Quite a few unanswered questions tho)

There were some things I found confusing or weird, like idk wtf Harris had against the pack (his reveal was funny af tho) and a few other things, but they were mostly just because of the lack of Stiles, Kira, and and Isaac

The Kira 'stand in' girl (I think her name was Hikari??) Was pretty cool, obviously sucks that Kira herself wasn't there but that's a whole different conversation 👀

Honestly, as a huge Stydia shipper I was hoping they wouldn't break them up and just have him like watching their kids or something (I think I saw a funny post of that once) but they way they broke them up? Not actually that bad? Like Lydia left him because she loved him and I was just worried that they wouldn't love each anymore so I'll take what I can get! Tho not expanding on the dreams she was having is a bit of a lost thread, but since it wasn't really apart of the main story, I'll let it slide lol.

I did not like how they just pretended Issac didn't exist, that was pretty fucked up. Like I predicted that Scott and Allison would get back together by the end, but damn rip Isaac for real 😔

Anyways, about Derek's death... Honestly, since I wasn't taking the movie that seriously in the first place, I didn't really feel anything about Derek dying? Like don't get me wrong, I love the man and if they killed him off in the actual show I'd be bawling, but the movie to me is just a silly little suggestion to canon than law. There's real canon, fanon, and the third secret canon that lives inside my brain ☺️

But like, I don't really care that he died in the movie, I was just surprised tbh. Rip king you deserved better 🙏 (I don't understand how he just like, disappeared, after being burnt?? Like maybe I didn't notice it but his body was gone like huh???)

I never liked Scott and Malia together so I'm glad they broke up, but Malia and Parish was weird as hell and was just so random. I think that ever since Malia and Stiles broke up the writers just couldn't figure out what to do with her? Which is a total shame cause Malia is queen. But none of her relationships post stiles make sense or work out so rip (I do love me some stlia on the side ngl)

Jackson was GREAT, funny af and just like how I would imagine the redeemed adult version of the asshole from season 1, 10/10

Lots of missed opportunities for interactions, (like Liam and Mason) but it's only a 2h movie so I get it

I thought both Scott and Allison were great, tho I'm not sure how I feel about her staying alive afterwards. Plus I always shipped Scira more but you know 👀 love that Scott was the same great guy ☺️ when he hugged Chris I literally cried it was so cute 🥺

UNEXPECTED TWIST for me!!! I came into the movie, very lightly shipping Chris and Melissa, and came out of the movie shipping Chris, Melissa, and Peter 😳 I didn't expect that! But they were such a cute trio omg it was amazing

Eli was cute and I don't think that he was that much like stiles, but there obviously similarities

And Jackson and Lydia brotp??? Absolutely!!!

(like one person brought up the whole, sterek was "queerbaiting" thing, which is such bullshit. They literally never fucking liked each other, even platonically. I would say by the end of the show Derek just barely tolerates Stiles. The real queerbaiting was the writers being to scared to confirm that Stiles was Bi because it's ridiculous how many scenes pointed to that, especially in seasons 1-3 smh)

Mhm! That beautiful mess, the culmination of all I despise but the vessel through which we all must perceive this world. I’d like to shake him like a maraca. This one definitely contains… opinions. As usual it's messy and ramble-ish but I enjoyed it.

How I feel about this character: Wow you're so interesting I wish I could still care after 320 something chapters. Born to “slay” as the youth say, in all meanings of the word, forced to do math. Sometimes I imagine what sound he would make if smacked against a wall. Constantly, actually. I can effectively emulate it with an almost empty water bottle, a thin piece of fabric, a piece of metal, and a slab of gelatin, but I only have access to two of those and it’s not the ones you think. I cannot stress how much I want post-Haise Kaneki dead for plot reasons, but I do think he’s pretty neat before whatever the result of the Tsukiyama extermination arc is. I do like him, but I try not to ponder him too deeply because if I started getting seriously attached to him as a person, I’d have to be disappointed about his character as well. I’m already not normal about so many of them. So he’s more of a secondhand skrunkle, I watch a decent portion of the rest of the fandom go wild and sit back and tend to my own neglected favorites. Like observing a neighbor’s garden, larger than mine but wilder, containing so many varieties of plants I can no longer distinguish them, and perhaps a bit overgrown. Was he the first piece of Tokyo Ghoul art I ever drew? Yes- well no actually that was probably Nishiki or Shuu but I never posted those because they were just sketches, but he was the first that I posted, and kind of my gateway to deciding to let myself brainrot over TG without shame (mostly). So I owe some amount of gratitude to him. 

But at the same time he fills me with a deep sadness for what might’ve been. Tokyo Ghoul was praised for having some kind of ground-breaking protagonist but he just feels... edgy at the end of it, handed an undeserved win. Sorry.

(So an update from later this very same day, I drew him and now I want to hug him. NO. I MUST PERSEVERE. Alright Kuroneki is kind of cute and his nickname sounds like Kuroneko (As in the trigun cat) and I love Kuroneko.)

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Protagonists are funny things to ship because they can be shipped with almost anyone. Almost the entire main cast? Been there and done that. Every character he’s been friends with? Certainly. Rivals? No rivalry is complete without a little homoeroticism. The villain? Is that even a question. That random character who appeared for half a  chapter? Someone’s probably done it. It’s difficult to pick a favorite but frankly I’m not particularly partial to any of them. Shuuneki is fun but it just feels out of character as soon as it becomes remotely healthy which is what all that pining causes me to intrinsically want which in turn annoys me so… I enjoyed it before I actually learned the story. Now I just can’t fathom truly enjoying a fic about them without leaving frustrated because at any given point, one or the other of them just wouldn’t work. Also I really want Kaneki to die alone. But though I’ll never be extremely passionate about it, I do think that Hidekane is kind of the best one. Like it’s not my ship but from an outsider's perspective I look at it and just go huh. Neat. This one actually seems non-headache inducing. I’m slowly consuming more of it but at the same time Hide deserves much better. I can’t fix you but I can hold your hand as you crumble or something. I will take this time to rant about Tou//ken. God help us all. I will start off with what I like because I am terrified of being burned at the stake by the shippers who actually read through this for some reason. Aesthetically, cool. As individuals, love them. Conceptually, it had great potential. I don’t think it ever could’ve been my otp but I could’ve enjoyed this. Now. DEAR GOD I HONESTLY ADMIRE THOSE WHO SHIP IT FOR EITHER HAVING THE IGNORANCE OR SHEER WILLPOWER TO ENJOY IT DESPITE THAT WRITING. It would be easier to ship two characters who we’ve never seen interact whatsoever (stares at my terrible rarepairs I would know) than to repair this trainwreck, so I suppose that’s a testament to your tenacity or your willingness to ignore the holes. I swear my copy of TG was missing chapters WHERE was their development. They only did things for each other when instructed to or in life or death situations when opposed by a greater threat, only thought fondly of each other when not together, and then got married and kids despite Kaneki being in a mental state nowhere near “intact enough to live a functional existence” must less raise CHILDREN. Like I refuse to believe Kaneki would be a great father. “Something, something breaking the cycle of a loveless life.” Where. Where did he learn to love healthily? Touka? Where? Where is that shown? They interact so briefly in such high-stress scenarios how the HELL am I supposed to know?

 Dear god I knew these two were going to get together. I steeled myself for it. I tried to enjoy it I swear I did but it feels like the marriage arc skipped the love arc and I don’t know how I’m supposed to appreciate the shell of a relationship left behind. But I respect those who manage. Like, if a character (Ayato) can go on a brief trip and come back UNDER A FEW DAYS LATER to find out, with absolutely no warning that his SIBLING is married to a guy now, maybe you’re moving just a little fast! Someone please explain this to me I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Also I find it funny that she managed to date a guy who both looks and acts so much like her dad. Touka you can do so much better you are leagues above this guy.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: If Haise is included, Akira and the Quinxes. Family. If Haise is not included, probably… Hinami. 

My unpopular opinion about this character: Oh boy. He doesn’t really listen to anyone, and his cycle of self sacrifice for others because it’s the easiest route out is ANNOYING AS HELL. Points are made about it, but does he ever change? No he just keeps trying to die for “the sake of others” until the very end and keeps escaping the actual consequences, while others who have something to live for ACTUALLY DIE for his stupid martyr complex and I am SICK OF IT. He only fights for those he cares about because he’s afraid of being alone which is a very human desire but we never see him grow in it, he just keeps ignoring whatever he doesn’t want to hear, keeps letting himself almost die but he’s still “virtuous” and not a murderer to the narrative. Because the restaurant ghouls dared to have fun with the terrible cards they were dealt, so they deserved it! Because those humans in the dragon incident didn’t care, so they deserved it! And besides he wasn’t conscious anyways! Because Furuta dared to try to break the system that Kaneki decided wasn’t real, because he wanted to make sure the world never created a child like him again, so he deserved it! I could deal with him if the narrative actually treated him like what he is, “morally grey” is not an excuse to his actions it’s a byproduct, so just saying “it’s alright because he’s morally grey” doesn’t fix any of the issues with his inconsistencies! With his lack of growth beyond just getting worse, and being handed a happy ending anyways! Also why are all of his stans silent as the grave I hear barely a WHISPER out of you creatures yet you appear like phantoms to salivate over him when art is made and to sweep polls. I know perhaps 3 people who both actively post and I know for a fact would declare Kaneki their favorite. Where are the rest of you? WHERE ARE YOU HIDING? But godspeed to you.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: He feels so overwritten at the end, I really wish he either died, or that :re had gone the csm route and had a different protagonist. For our candidates for a new protagonist I would nominate: Hide. An exploration of a character who was born into a world that was hurting him, but chose to love ghouls anyways. Who chose to keep being a good person no matter how hard it was, (WHAT KANEKI DOES, DOES NOT COUNT AS BEING A “GOOD PERSON.”) He’d be a refreshing air of positivity and hope from Kaneki’s internal monologue. It’s so desolate it makes me want to commit amusing vandalism just to remember that bright colors are real and very lovely. I don’t have the energy to write out full explanations for all of them but I’d also nominate any of the Quinx squad members, Juuzou (I just want more Hanbee), Ayato, Amon, or Furuta. Or making Haise a person with a separate body.

Favorite friendship for this character: If Haise counts Juuzou, if not Banjou or Ayato.

My crossover ship: I’m tempted to say knives as a joke because they have the same english voice actor, (Who does a fantastic job as both but MAN his voice goes deep in tristamp.) Anyways Vash I guess. Go be self-sacrificial together you fools. (affectionate connotation for one, indifferent for the other.)

3 new manga this week wao, busy week for m+ (tho there were more I'm not reading) the one of most note is nue, the last of this WSJ serialization round and the one I was looking forward to the most, despite 2 of the other manga being by fujimaki and the shokugeki duo. sadly it didn't live up to my expectations but I talk about it more under there 👇

also I watched all anime episodes yesterday since mal was down for like 3 days thanks to a brainless hacker, I know I coulda just watched and updated it after it got fixed but I stubbornly like to do things a certain way tehe anyhoo

oh also there was a new chap of strike it rich but because of how comikey works I can't read it for free til there's a new chap in 2 week (yikes) so that's why it's not here, I'll be keeping a lookout for alternative sources for it but until then I'll just have to be behind ugh

Imas CG: U149 Ep6

very good episode, in every way, voices, character acting, like usual I know ofc ofc. it's funny seeing haru always comparing idol stuff to soccer to make it more relatable to herself while the producer plays along (as he should) while everyone else is flabbergasted. as soon as they were talking about outfits at the start I knew what the ep was gonna be about (and what the solution was) but it was still good. and let me tell you, it was extremely brained for them to have the new LiPPS song as the insert for the anime at the same time as the event for it came out in the game, it's free hype real estate baby.

Mashle Ep6

I was actually pretty impressive with how the fight looked (compared to the rest of the anime) and the addition of him and mash's reflection on the metal (wasn't in the manga I checked) was really cool. it gives me some hope for the future of the anime, not much but some hope.

Pokemon Horizons Ep6

good ep but it's weird as hell just seeing shiny ray in an anime episode. done with the roy introduction arc so things can start moving forward now, tho they still won't be getting to paldea next time. however they did tease that the bocchi voiced character is part of the ship, which is funny cause they always show the damn duck in her videos so it was right there all along, we're just blind fools

Jigokuraku Ep7

nice episode, next one is gonna be The Door and the start of quite a long stretch of action, tho it won't extend to the finale. considering where we are I have a pretty good idea where it'll end (setting off from the cave iykyk). I thought it was pretty funny how they straight up just delete the tensen's nipples instead of using god rays or stuff like that since it'd be too much of a bother during fights, and honestly I much prefer this to making the fights look worse. however they did use god rays to censor mei so that was good. also also when I was reading it I said this, and during the ep I looked it up and they do indeed all have the same seiyuu, one for the female form (kaida yuuko) and another for the male (suwabe junichi), so that's v fun, glad they actually went through with it

Nue's Exorcist Ch1

MAN, out of the 4 new series, even with fujimaki and the shokugeki duo, this was the series I was the most excited for but if I had to be honest it had the weakest ch1 out of all of them :( it's a real shame. the art is really good, very clean lines and very readable, everything stands out as it should and the designs are good. however, I don't think it did a good enough job at setting up it's premise as the other 3, rn it's basically just the mc going "I want to be strong enough to protect everyone" and I don't think that's enough. we'll see how it goes in the next few chaps, but if something of note doesn't happened in the next handful of chaps I could easily see it suffering the same fate as tokyo demon bride which would be sad. I'll try to keep my hope up anyway, I know I only feel like this cause I had such high expectations for it when I shouldn't but oh well

Blooming Love Ch1 - 3

didn't really have any expectations going in but it's pretty cute art club president meets a craftsman girl, who is trying to get better at art, and becomes captivated by how earnest she is about things art is very nice and clean and the characters are expressive, could be a nice little romance if it can last for some time

Kindergarten WARS Ch1 - 3

jump + title and first indie series to get picked up by m+ it's kinda like an alt universe sakamoto, the premise is "the safest kindergarten in the world" which is protected by criminals trying to earn their freedom it currently has around 30 chaps so it's gonna take a while to catch up even if they do 2 or 3 chaps a week anyway it's good, I was the most surprised by how good the action looks but even outside of that it's good. at the end of chap 2 I was like "I hope the formula isn't always like this or it'll get old fast" but chap 3 was completely different so that got rid of my worries. I can totally see why it's so popular in jp (over 1M views weekly) so looking forward to the extra chaps til we catch up in the coming months

chap felt longer than it was, but it makes sense since it's nisio and has so much text. I was worried cause of cipher's continuously low placements, but it doesn't seem to be wrapping up yet so that gives me some hope. tho it could just end suddenly and that'd be wack but we'll see... good chap tho, iroha finally making up with toshusai's other goon and introducing the new conflict and "villains" for the upcoming arc. I really do hope it doesn't get canceled it'd be a shame to lose a nisio series

Okay so it was mentioned that Reyna and Jason went on quests together. questS that's plural. so, u cannot tell me that during those quests they did not LOOK INTO EACH OTHERS EYES or HELD EACH OTHER WHILE ON THE BRINK OF DEATH AND FELT SOMETHING. THEY WERE PRAETORS TOGETHER SIDE BY SIDE, LEADING CAMP JUPITER FOR MONTHS, YOU CANNOT TELL ME THAT THERE ISN'T A MOMENT WHEN THINGS ARE TOO HEAVY AND THEY DEPEND ON EACH OTHER. U CANNOT TELL ME JASON DIDN'T COMFORTED REYNA WHEN SHE'S SO STRESSED AND REYNA BEING PROUD OF HIM.

Reyna is good at hiding her feelings but FOR SURE Jason can see through it. That's why he knew that Reyna doesn't like to be called by her real name, heck Jason knew HER FULL NAME. And the thing is, Jeyna has only been together for months (unlike Percabeth whose been together and doing quests for years, ig that's why their love for each other is so strong that not even Hera can manipulate it) so, i think that Jeyna are still figuring out what it was that they really feel for each other. then Hera came and wiped out his memories, and wakes up next to Piper with the idea that okay that's my girlfriend, so why not? I know a lot of people blame Jason for not noticing Reyna but I just now realized that it's not mainly his fault, his memories was wiped and wakes up with the idea that he's in love with someone else and settles for that. Hera and Aphrodite is just threatened by them cuz JEYNA TOGETHER WOULD BE UNSTOPPABLE LET ALONE IF THEY LED CAMP JUPITER TOGETHER.

Ships I’m considering changing around

Or at least that’s what I intended this to be. But it turned so much into a Ran introspection I don’t want to clutter it with more ships so ended it when that one. Mostly wrote this as notes to myself so it’s rambley, but I do talk about some kids so can get some insight into them. As I said though it’s mostly talk about Ran. Winona/Aarune

This is one where I’m very committed to Neil still existing as Winona’s son, but it’s who his dad is that doesn’t matter, so Aarune is mostly a placeholder right now. Ship doesn’t really do anything for me and Aarune doesn’t add anything to the table as Neil’s dad. So holding out hope someone better comes along

For Neil, the whole point of his character is he’s Micah’s Gym Leader buddy who secretly has a crush on him. Cause Micah is my stealth shoujo protagonist who has his possible harem of suitors but like all shoujos, there’s only two of the dudes who really stand a chance and Neil is the guy who likes the protag, but everyone knows for sure that guy ain’t winning. A side suitor.

I don’t even have any ideas for alt ships at this point, I really am drawing a blank. The most I know is I really am leaning towards it being a guy, so the single girls I have milling about are out. Just the vibe I’m getting for who Neil’s other parent would be. But yes, I’m almost certain I’ll change this ship, just no idea to what.

Tate/Tucker

What makes this one tricky is I really like Ren and Ran and even now when I look at my design for Ran, I feel he’s one I did a better job combining his parent’s design. So in my head, harder design to flip. Plus while I don’t care about Tate/Tucker as a ship, I feel there’s something to not cutting all the families with difficult relationships and flipping them out for generic happy families with no teeth. Like I already have a lot of generic happy families. Why keep adding more unless it’s for a ship I really like.

Basically, the way the fam currently is set up, Tucker is a tool who seduced poor young naive Tate once he was of age, got surprise pregnant, dumped the kids on him, and mostly peaced out. He comes around sometimes so it’s not like Ren and Ran don’t know who their mom is. And Tate Tucker have like a weird relationship but there’s not really together either. But not not together? It’s complicated. But it mostly is Tate as single hard working dad and it’s a thing that Ran actually doesn’t bring up the dysfunctional dynamic his parents have going, just plays it off like things are totally fine. Doesn’t have an unconventional household, what are you talking about. Even his brother being so sickly he’s bedridden is something he downplays. And while it is partly out of shame, it’s more he doesn’t want anyone to judge his family or pity him and his family. He’s a bitchy diva but has a hidden soft side he only really shows to his dad, aunt, and brother. Does care deep down. But okay, I could change the ship and make Tate/Mira a thing and I won’t really lose his design. Could make that work. But then it also makes the family situation kind of boring? Ran goes from being in a family situation he hides that genuinely is kinda sus on Tucker’s end due to how the relationship between his parents started to just regular happy mom/dad family. Ship with no teeth but like sure, can see Tate/Mira being cute. Ran can still be a bitch cause why not, but I feel he loses depth? So the delimma here is do I lean into Tucker sucking as a person (which honestly that wasn’t my intention when I first made the ship, like most things I decide on a whim, the full implications reveal themselves as I workshop things in the background). Or go with a more boring, but conventional ship and lose some of Ran’s nuance? Like this one I do lean on keeping as is because I think it makes Ran and Ren more interesting, even if it’s to the detriment of Tate and especially Tucker (I don’t think canonly he’s a bad person but sometimes you gotta do things for the narrative. It’s like the Bruno/Bugsy situation).

Which on the Bruno/Bugsy thing they are actually the next closest ship I sometimes compare this family to and with that family, Gunner HATES Bruno for how he perceives it being his fault his parents have such a dysfunctional relationship. The one who’s (emotionally) hurting his mom. Whereas Ran doesn’t hate Tucker. He mostly just finds him flighty and kinda likes spending time with him. Sometimes. Since once he’s older they do bond over the idol stuff. But Ran also assumes Tucker must not really love him or his brother very much, because if he did, he’d stick around more. So he tries to hold his feelings for Tucker at a distance. Tells himself not to care or expect anything from him since will just be disappointed in the end.

So actually yeah, writing all this out reaffirmed things for me so keeping it as is. I don’t see the sense of scrapping Ran as a character just because his parent ship isn’t the best and I kinda feel bad I made Tucker suck, since I feel fun things could be done with him. But sometimes sacrifices need to be made for the narrative!

Chinese version of "sworn brothers" is 义兄. Meaning 义兄 =两个人之间没有血源关系，但是兴趣相投，或者是志向相同,虽不同路，但相互怜惜便结拜为兄弟.

Translation: to 2 people, NOT related, but have the same Ideals and aspirations. However, they go different paths in the future, thus, to cherish this bond, they become sworn brothers BY a ceremony.

Kaeya and Diluc are no where near related, Diluc's dad just took Kaeya in to foster.

Notice that the word 义兄 is hardly used now in modern society, that's because it was commonly used in ancient china ( when there were emperors and wars and etc.) with many ancient Chinese literature to back the term up.

The reason why many Chinese kaeluc or luckae fans ship this is because of the double meaning. In ancient china, homosexuality is actually very common, it only became illegal in 1903 (Where the war with England and stuff happend).

A lot of famous Chinese literature like 《红楼梦》、《金瓶梅》 has some 男风（男=boy/men 风= wind, 男风= "a wave/ trend of male homosexuality" or a more secrete way of saying male homosexuality ) topics and stories. Ancient Chinese history books like 《宋书·五行志》explained ：“自咸宁、太康（公元3世纪）以后，男风大兴，炽于女色，士大夫莫不尚之，天下咸相仿效，贵胄孤寡女眷尤甚，或是至夫妇离绝，怨旷妒忌者。”

男风大兴，炽于女色 = a love of men to the point that it overcame the love of woman

Thus since homosexuality was a thing in ancient china, there must be gay marriage. However, historians found that ancient people was using the term 契兄弟= contract brothers ( 契= deed/ contract, 兄弟= brothers) to describe gay marriage.

Since having a gay relationship has intertwined the words brothers "兄弟” in it, many historians also wondered that “ 义兄” which was widely used back then could have a double meaning to male lovers.

Yeah, it could or could not be in Diluc's and Kaeya's case. However, Mihoyo didn't use 继兄= step brother, but instead used 义兄= sworn brothers.

Comments like "Wow you're art is so good, such a shame that you ship Kealuc tho" or "it's always the talented artist who are the Kaeluc shippers" but the ones that hurt me more are the one who directly attack my identity "it's always the chinese who are problematic" and even "First you start a pandemic then you do this, can you be even more disgusting?"

That's not ok, that's racist.
