i think one of my favourite characterizations of reg’s and sirius’ relationship is in ‘when you were mine’ by sequinhaze on ao3

(spoilers below)

as an older sibling, i just think it makes so much sense, personally.

sirius refusing to give up on regulus because that’s his little brother.

doesn’t matter that regulus has denounced him as a brother and cut all ties with him, that’s his brother.

sirius is hardwired to love his brother, to take care of him.

i’m not necessarily a sirius kin, but as an older sibling that has significantly more trauma than my sibling.

i don’t see a world where sirius gives up on his brother.

sirius who fights tooth and nail for regulus’ sentence to be lessened.

sirius who can’t live knowing his brother could be in jail and he did nothing to stop it.

sirius who either feels everything at 100% or nothing.

it just makes so. much. sense. to. me.

because it’s not healthy in the slightest right? and sirius has his moments where he’s really upset at his brother.

but at the end of the day, that’s reggie.

that’s his baby brother that’s he’s raised and tried to shelter for the most part of their childhood.

idk man, i just think as an older sibling, i just see so much of myself in sirius in that fic x

I had a nightmare so I'm re-reading my comfort fic (wywm by @sequinhaze 🫶) but then I remembered my autistic ass struggles so much in picturing their house. This almost never happens, but the house and placement of rooms play such an important part and I STRUGGLE to picture it and its distribution, so every time I read it I have to go through pinterest and look for one big enough but that makes a little sense (and that has blueprints). And every time a room is mentioned I go through the blueprints. I exhaust myself.
