race headcanons, let's do it!

his name is edward anthony higgins (which is partially real life canon and partially a nod to fanon) and he despises being called ed or any version of his first name (father's name). he's okay with tony or anthony, though.

i base my race off of livesies and 92sies (with a bit of uksies). his looks lean more towards ben cook and his personality is a mix of mostly max casella and a bit of josh barnett. sarcastic. fast-talking. impish little prankster. sorta mean and rough around the edges. big joker. ugh i just adore tough guy race and will always write him as such.

strong. (you've all seen ben cook's incredible biceps, need i explain?)

i adore the smart race headcanon. dk where it came from but i lovingly adopted it in both canon and modern

albert's his best friend in every universe

he and crutchie and jack are thick as thieves in every universe, caught somewhere between brothers and best friends

-> Killer. Like u said Anon, I think he IS the most likely candidate! I don't think that it's a meal he'd have eaten often, nor would he openly joke about it, but I think that somewhere like the Temple where he was raised, or on the streets after he left Chara (the Black Market wasn't picky-) would be where it happened.

-> Nim. Oh. Yeah. She would've, I'm sure. (Also tbf I have no idea if I said that or not, my memory is SO bad, I'd probably have to check w/ Ancha lol- but for this let's imagine she's not.) I don't think anyone would be able to convince her if she knew what it was up-front (she thinks humans are lesser, but kinda in the way ppl don't usually think of brown bears as a food source?) -> Dust. Now, this one is a little weird, but I have good reason! Dust has a reputation to uphold when he's a crime lord, and has to get along with leaders of other crime branches to keep his power AND keep the lines running. One of the other kingdoms (which I'm establishing is basically full of shape-shifters which eat human flesh) was a prime source of income for Dust because they had a LOT of animal meat they weren't harvesting. In meetings, well, sometimes the meal involved the dishes of that kingdom, so human flesh! (He will NOT admit it didn't taste bad.)

-> Fresh. And no, not for the reason he'd normally know lmao. I think that Fresh's connection with the beasts (which I now realize are kinda stand-ins for his furby collection-) leads some of then to bring him gifts! And he lives usually out in the wilderness so a hunt is a hunt, y'know? Monsters are off-limits but like. If the beast brings him *just* the meat? He takes his chances abd hopes it's not People. (Some of it is, and he knows it, he could definitely identify it if given to him 🙏)

-> Reaper. He's not proud of it anymore, but back in the day when he was the general? Bringer of Death? Yeah, he ate a guy once. Used it as a fear tactic against their enemies, which in his defense DID work. But he wouldn't do it again. He would recognize the taste tho!

Exactly this! They are bad for each other, yet no one could possibly fill the shoes of how they make each other feel. Mainly on Fords end. Even when Ford is post the reveal that Bill sucks and 'hates' Bill all he can think about is him. His every action for the three plus decades has been intertwined with Bill, a testament to an obsession that refuses to wane. Even though Bill pretends not to care at all, and he may be a bit distracted, he counts on Ford coming back and offers him a spot by his side repeatedly. Bill is only so confidently uncaring and condescending because Ford is obsessed with him, I firmly believe that if Ford were to genuinely withdraw his interest, Bill would react immaturely; as he does when he reacts to anything that doesn't go his way.

The power dynamics between them are starkly unequal. Ford's fixation feeds into Bill's ego, who relishes in Ford obsession and worship. Even if Ford's feelings turn hostile, it only adds to the allure for Bill. Something/someone who is undyingly obsessed and involved with him no matter what? Yes please! Even if it turns into Ford wanting to kill Bill its still incredibly tantalizing to him. To Ford, Bill embodies a deity-like figure or an abstract concept of either knowledge or evil. Regardless of the context, Ford grants Bill significant power over his perceptions simply because he is Bill.

Ford is Bill's favorite toy, this is glaringly evident.

Bill doesn't even believe in love! He probably finds all the hate that poor old man holds towards him ten times more endearing than any sort of one dimensional praise and devotion to him. Bill is obviously immoral, evil, apathetic, etc... However, I don't believe he inherently acts with the intent of just being terrible. I don't think he cares if he is terrible, that's just not his inherent goal. He's a hedonist, he does things that feel good for him. His goals and actions are based off of things that would feel good for him, not really interested in the people around him. He's selfish and acts on solely selfish desires; one of these happen to be keeping Ford around. I don't know think about it. And Ford? I could do suuuccchhh a long post just on the psychology of Ford and his brother, honestly I plan to. He has an ego, he knows he's gifted and skilled, he worked himself to the bone to be where he is now. But he's also incredibly insecure. He knows he's great but he also only knows he is great if there is someone there to tell him he is grand. He often looks down on others, even those he relies on this validation for, I don't even think it's intentional more than half of the time he does it. He displays himself as this incredibly secure yet detached person, he makes it seem like he doesn't need people but in reality he is deeply afraid of connection, or more-so the trials and tribulations that come with close connections. He NEEDS to envelope himself in his work, because his work makes him worthy, and his work wouldn't sabotage his future dreams at the most incredible college and life offer he has ever gotten. Honestly both Stanley and Stanford have an issue with validation and praise, despite also seemingly being so detached from people in general. I mostly believe this to be due to how their parents both fared and treated them and how they acted in society as a whole. Especially after the two got split there was an incredible change in both of their ways of life. Soulmates AU in which when your soulmate is in a situation that can result in their death you get to see through their eyes. Like, I don't know how to explain this- it kind of flashes between what you see and what your soulmate sees. You know those edits where there's a scene going on and there's another one faded in the background happening at the same time? Similar to that. The idea is that you get to see what your soulmate sees too, on top of what you're seeing.

Now, this AU but JeanMarco. With Marco asking the others where's Jean, just for him to start seeing a corpse right in front of his eyes not even a second after asking. Seeing through Jean's eyes as he's trying to get hold of that gear and stuff. And once Jean's safe, once it clicks that you know his best friend is his soulmate Marco can't wait for them to graduate so he can you know tell him that.

Then, you know. That happens. And Jean is so fucking confused because he keeps seeing Annie crying, looking down on him. Only when Annie starts getting off the gear, when his soulmate starts moving around trying to get away he starts panicking, starts moving around faster than before. And maybe he's too late. Or maybe he shows up in time and kills the titan. I don't know. That's not where I'm trying to get, but to the second option AKA Marco pulling an UNO reverse on Annie because he's a smart sneaky bastard like that and being like 'Hey you can't kill me, my soulmate will know it was you' which makes her stop trying to take off his gear. Reiner keeps telling her to do it, Bertholdt keeps yelling about that titan coming closer, but Annie... she has seen things, at some point. Flashes of moments that weren't hers, happening right in Trost- right in that moment. And she didn't give them too much thought until that moment, until it got confirmed that it has nothing to do with her titan powers.

'What do you mean by that?' she asks, because she needs to know more. Because she wants to know more. And Marco starts explaining how it works. Tells them that he has found his soulmate, that they will put all the blame on them for his death. Reiner doesn't believe him, keeps insisting that he's playing them around - he, and anyone born and raised on Marley, has never heard of something like that before, it doesn't exist - but Annie tells him to shut up and to let Marco go. Cue to the plot of any fic in which Marco doesn't straight up die after finding up their secret.
